Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius | Friday, June 5, 2020 - a zeitgeist moment, the crisis is obvious, the gift maybe less so, but there it is, make certain to see it

On Friday, June 5th, 2020 at 3:13PM EDT, the Sagittarius Moon will oppose the Gemini Sun - giving us this month's Full Moon - a Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius.

This is the first of THREE Eclipses we have over the next four weeks - destined to change everything AGAIN!

Full Moons bring things to light, to a culmination or a conclusion and happening close enough to the Moon's nodes to create an eclipse gives this result a broader and longer lasting impact.

This Eclipse is pushing us to identity the beliefs we carry that are no longer working/no longer supported by facts or our intuition. Let them go. Think about - what kind of person would I be if I let go of this belief or that belief. Is this really true? Is this really true for me? And we might not call these 'our beliefs', we call this stuff 'what is'. But what if it isn't?

The Gemini Sun allows us to see the other side of everything - we only need to open our eyes. Wider.

Or maybe the space we carry an inflated hope needs a cosmic adjustment because what we really need now (the Virgo empty leg of this T-Square) is some grounded practicality

(also to keep up good health and hygienic practices because Virgo/Pisces rules our health and Hygiea is hanging out with the North Node and Vesta).

We might be experiencing big events/decisions involving the theme of our natal Sagittarius house or the collective Sag themes of - foreigners (who/what we see as foreign), ethics, religion, the big picture, politics, legal issues, publishing, philosophy, travel, education, things like weddings ie the way we connect to wider social energies, the way we gain mastery over our own amoral/immoral impulses, what it takes to go beyond (think of the space launch, too, this week), what constitutes JUSTICE.

People with planets/points in the mutable signs between 13-17 degrees will likely feel this energy strongest. And people with aspects in their natal that are reflected in this chart.

That square to Mars brings tension/frustration - in Pisces, maybe needing to make a choice/a move/take some kind of action and not being clear on what to do (or maybe being exhausted, anesthetized, disillusioned). Pisces allows us to release old wounds, to self-forgive, to learn from our mistakes, to accept the awkward unfinished business of other people who are not always as we wish they would be, but simply as they are.

Angry/fiery/passionate Mars, comes into this gentle space every couple years, like "where the f*ck am I?", but he (as we) is halfway through now and needs to learn/use what he finds here because have I said already, HE IS ABOUT TO COME HOME TO ARIES FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR. Sorry to shout, but we need to move like spiritual warriors through these days because actual warriors will be/could be needed later.

Fresh off Venus's inferior conjunction with the Sun, something has come to light. What have we seen? What have we heard? When was the last time words made us feel beautiful? Made us feel loved? What have our words/thoughts cost us? What does it take to do the 'right thing'? Does it take courage or knowing what the right thing is?

Most ethical conflicts have imperfect solutions ...

Jupiter, ruling this lunation from his retrograde perch, in his fall, sandwiched between Pluto and Saturn/Pallas - hard to find that lucky penny, our blessings have become our handicap/Achilles' heel.

It will be hard to get what we want here. The good news though is that Sag is the great teacher/we can learn our way through this and Gemini is fast on her feet.

With Mercury out of bounds (for just a few more days) and walking degrees we will walk two more times - our thinking can be radical/out of the box or out of the norm for us, but also subject to later revisions. Keep this in mind.

For some there will be delusions and lies/bubbles burst, and, for others, a rare moment of Zeitgeist TRUTH.

Kapow.

Either way with Mercury squaring Chiron - uncomfortable words/information that triggers some of our oldest, deepest woundings and beliefs.

The status quo is shaken up. We reach a turning point. It's all getting so damn personal!

Lunar Eclipse Full Moons happen on the Moon's South Node - the Moon is full but its light is blocked by the earth's shadow. So although things are still concluding and 'coming to light', stuff is hidden, too. Nothing is exactly as it seems.

Eclipses are cosmic course corrections.

Things get eclipsed out or out of our way.

Like a computer, we get a re-set. Fresh downloads. A de-frag.

Eclipse events do not happen exactly on the date of the eclipse. The eclipse sets up an event chart - a kind of marker in the heavens and as planets/points interact with that point - via transit THAT is when events happen. And somehow with an eclipse prior events factor in, too. I have seen events happen almost exactly a week or month (or even two months) before or after the eclipse. Then the changes brought about by the 'eclipsing' unfold over the next six months or so.

Lunar eclipses often bring endings (sometimes a female energy leaves - collectively this is about George Floyd - a Taurus rising, Libra Sun, Venusian man. We will talk about his charts on Saturday. And Breonna Taylor a beautiful Gemini Sun, Sag Moon with her North Node of destiny conjunct this Eclipse point).

Let's unpack the chart (or did we do that already?)

The Moon, at 15 degrees Sagittarius opposes the Sun at 15 degrees Gemini.

Both are squaring Mars (at exactly 15 degrees Pisces and sandwiched between Ceres and Neptune). The Sun is conjunct Venus and she has just backed out of her own square to Mars and meeting with the Sun (both still in play, but in the very recent past). Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius and so ruler of this lunation is retrograde and sandwiched between Pluto and Saturn/Pallas.

So, the Moon and Sun form an exact and challenging mutable T-Square with Mars in Pisces as the focal point (who is himself sandwiched between Ceres and Neptune). Remember the squares are active aspects, the planet's themselves are wrestling with each other. And those planets standing next to each other - Mars, Ceres, Neptune - they are not getting all cuddly, breaking social distance guidelines and merging into one thing. They are separate energies doing their own thing in Pisces. And those "own things" becomes one thing - if that makes any sense. And I hope it does.

Mars can't be all Mars-y out fighting and taking no prisoners in Pisces drifting waters. He (as we, as our actions) has to feel his way through this Eclipse. And attempt to avoid the Mars/Pisces debilitating crap like being - self-sacrificing, self-sabotaging, exhausted, lazy, addicted, nostalgic, no fun at parties/too much fun at parties - you get the idea. And sandwiched between Ceres and Neptune just adds to his headaches - maybe draining his will/courage. Ceres amplifies the feeling/anxiety of what we can't control and Neptune has no need to control anything. So even if Mars in Pisces/Neptune reaches for the higher ground/wants to transcend reality, it will not be easy.

The T-Square to Mars assures us that action is needed, but it will be hard to know what action to take. Things are confusing. Wrong action can be undermining. But, we are so freaking triggered. So freaking pissed/or sad. The frustration/tension may even trigger the ending/result. Full Moons are oppositions, so it could be someone else's - weakness, bullsh*t, inability to take action - that forces our hand. Has someone been lying to us? Have we been lying to ourselves?

Venus is a major player here. Retrograde in polarizing Gemini, conjunct the Sun, opposing the Moon and squaring Mars, Neptune and Ceres. What we want and what we have to do to get what we want are maybe not in sync. Getting along and what we have to do to get along are maybe not in sync. We are misfiring all over the place.

The Sun and Venus in opposing Gemini. What do we know that we are grateful to know, that we are lucky to know, that we don't want to know, that we are heartbroken from knowing?

Gemini rules our lungs; our ability to move air, to breath. We watch people struggle to breathe through a contagious virus, through triggering masks, we watch a man murdered as authority (in the guise of another man) clamps down on his throat, protester's breaths stolen with tear-gas, shopkeeper's breaths stolen by vandalism, hundreds of thousands of people marching with shirts and masks that read "I can't breathe". Can life make this any freaking clearer to us? Let's take a deep breath before we say it. Let's take another while we listen.

Rebellion and control - this will go on for a couple years.

I have done a chart for Saturday night on the murder of George Floyd and his connection with this time/this eclipse, the USA chart, the police officer who killed him, Rodney King - it's all stunning. What has been built on the backs of other people will not survive the collapse of the crumbling patriarchy.

Keep in mind this is the first of three eclipses over the next four weeks. The next one - near the summer solstice (when we head back to Cancer/Capricorn!!) - looks the most gnarly.

The other two Eclipses, Sag/Gemini, speak of setting aside our current beliefs - have you found yourself changing 'sides', flipping back and forth and all over the place - that's probably right where you want to be.

We see everything through the personal lens of our own theories/beliefs. We kind of believe what we do and then look around (unconsciously usually) for what supports our ideas and beliefs and that's what we notice and the problem here - especially during times like these when we need to be seeing new things and thinking/communicating in new ways - is our perspective limits what we can actually see.

So more information will come to light now and throughout this summer. Old beliefs/thinking/even facts will shift/dissolve. The time as we move in and out of these eclipses is kind of like being in our washing machine spin cycle. It's not the time to take out the wash unless we want a soggy mess. Stuff isn't finished.

We have to let the machine (the set of eclipses) do its work.

There is a lot of theoretical movement. People want to make big moves/to use this moment most wisely or to get the most power. But keep in mind this is Gemini season and the North Node is in Gemini, too, for the next 18 months - there won't be one big solution, there will be as many solutions as there are people. And every single one of them will be needed. And where we place our attention our commitments will multiply - so keep this in mind.

It is hard, maybe not even possible, to know what is real or where the smart choice is found. Listen to your heart/your intuition and be brave.

And keep in mind it is always the times when the astrology shows it will be hard to think straight - that are the times when straight thinking is not so much needed as our guts/intuition.

If big events are not pushing you personally into a corner - simply locate the bottom line and take a step. Maybe that can work one way or the other. We are not lost. We are right here. Life is unfolding precisely as it should be and the piece of creation (as reflected in our birth chart/road map) that we have agreed to carry and evolve is unfolding precisely and perfectly also.

Think of it this way - lightning has already struck, and more than once.

BREATHE DEEPLY and slowly.

See if this deep slow breath is able to help you to be the most deeply yourself.

Because that is what is needed from us now. The thing we have been running from for lifetimes.

For us to be most deeply ourselves.

Ok, so I have to pop back in here and say, that square to Mars y'all - please stay safe.

Full Moon in Sagittarius | a closer look at what we believe, big plans, our faith is tested, who/what can we trust, not everything is quite as it appears, details are blurry, results not quite final, an expansion of a dream or the exaggeration of a promise

Early Monday morning EDT - the Sagittarius Moon will oppose the Gemini Sun (25 degrees) giving us this month's Full Moon.

Full Moons bring things to a culmination or a conclusion. This month things are not so certain. Details can be blurry. Promises exaggerated. Results not quite so final.

The Moon is widely squaring Jupiter (Jupiter rules this Full Moon as the ruler of Sagittarius) and widely squaring Neptune, but more importantly they are exactly squaring each other (for the second time this year due to Jupiter's retrograde) - the first square was back on January 13th, so something from that time - the expansion of a dream/an exaggerated belief or promise - is being re-viewed/re-looked at.

We are five months from the first Neptune/Jupiter square surely we have learned something we can trust by now?!

Neptune is always dissolving something - we don't want it to be our common sense/cents.

This aspect, the Jupiter/Neptune square, became exact (for the second time) on SUNDAY, then we have the Full Moon on MONDAY and then on TUESDAY, our other big repeating aspect of 2019 - the Neptune/Saturn sextile becomes exact. So, at the time of the Full Moon we are building toward that.

We had the first Saturn/Neptune sextile on January 28th - so we are also being brought back to that date this week, too.

Neptune (our imaginations/dreams/art/spirit/healing) is working WITH Saturn in 2019 - not like in 2016 and into 2017 when they were squaring each other! Instead of our dreams (Neptune) being trashed by reality (Saturn) or our foundations/goals (Saturn) drifting away (Neptune) something we've kind of gotten used to in the last couple years - now our dreams can be supported/grounded (sextile) in reality. Keep in mind Saturn stuff builds over time - so patience may be required here. Saturn/Neptune aspects often involve a sacrifice - we have to willingly give up this, to get that.

Now, we have to keep in mind the square to Neptune/Jupiter that is exact now. Something probably isn't quite true here/isn't as big/great as it seems.

It is likely the peak/conclusion happening at the time of this month's Full Moon isn't quite as peak/final as it seems.

A closer look is needed. We don't want to overlook any important details. We don't want to be relying on any big promises that won't be delivered. There is a test of faith here - what do we believe in?

Mars and Mercury are conjunct (they will meet exactly on Tuesday and then together oppose Pluto on Wednesday - another powerful week!) and they have both eked their way past that Saturn opposition at the time of this Full Moon. So they are together (our thinking and our passions, our words and our deeds), nestled within a treacherous opposition to Saturn and Pluto.

This feels like some powerful opposition (from authority/the outer world/the rules/the way things have always been done) to our personal (Mars/Mercury) decisions and actions regarding that Cancerian house situation or that home, family, home business, family business, mother, relocation, renovation thing.

The Full Moon will make everything feel bigger, and possibly more overwhelming, than it is (and it could actually be pretty big).

On the plus side, we have the North Node (in Cancer) on our side. It won't be comfortable, but it can provide the forward momentum to push us into (or force our hand with) the new and untested stuff that feels more nurturing, more authentic, more like the mom and apple pie - we didn't even know we needed.

This Full Moon is testing our faith. Maybe taking a measure of what we are willing to give up in order to build something more AUTHENTIC (where we feel ownership of the experience); something that works independently of the failing patriarchy.

Jupiter/Neptune is EXPANDING the space for dreaming, imagining, connecting, remembering. Neptune/Saturn is stabilizing this expanded space.

Jupiter, ruler of this Full Moon, is in his home sign of Sagittarius - we aren't going to have a Full Moon in Sagittarius with Jupiter for another 12 years! Even as Neptune/Jupiter and Neptune/Saturn warn us to watch out for anything too shiny, too good to be true, TOO BIG - Jupiter says hey I won't be back here for TWELVE YEARS! This is a Full Moon, peak energy, USE IT OR LOSE IT, bub.

Maybe we can't tell what's real and what's not real anymore because that isn't the question we should be asking. If nothing is really real, then nothing is really not real ie impossible either. Maybe this is a good thing (we can see it could be in the future, but maybe it is an actual good thing RIGHT NOW) and we are looking at this whole "shifting reality" thing ass-backward.

Having said that we would still like some solid footing somewhere.

With illusory Neptune very strong this week (a strong Neptune is always dissolving something) and stationing retrograde on the 21st - this would not be the best time to make a big, important decision. Mars is still opposite Saturn and approaching Pluto (along with Mercury) - avoid arguments, power struggles, saying things you might regret, avoid bridge burning if possible - retrogrades are not a time for bridge burning because we are walking paths we aren't done with yet. We will be back here again and it would be nice if there was a freakin' bridge here.

When Neptune stations retrograde on Friday, the Sun will move into Cancer, ushering in the Summer Solstice. This is going to be an excellent time to meditate, pray, connect with our intuition/ancestors for powerful guidance.

Until then we have a challenging week ahead and my "live to fight another day" advice continues.

Avoid direct confrontations if possible. Avoid deceptive pie-in-the-sky promises. Don't over-promise. No dark alleys. No candy from strangers. Let the storms blow over. Pressures can feel intense.

We have a game-changer solar eclipse in two weeks that is being SET UP NOW (last week and this week) and we need to be in the best position we can be in for that. Keep an eye on that Cancer North Node - prioritize self care. MOTHER YOURSELF.

Home and work are still stress points (and our natal Cancer/Capricorn house themes).

To sum up this Full Moon - Sagittarius opposing Gemini - tension between what we believe and what we think, tension between what is foreign and what is local, tension between the big-picture and the immediate details. With Neptune squaring the Moon's ruler Jupiter - everything will not be quite as it seems. Something is just TOO MUCH. Our actions/passion (Mars) is opposed by powerful forces. The Moon is conjunct the Galactic Center - seat of creation.  Even with all the potential for bullshit and deception - I still can't stop thinking about the possibilities ....

xo all

back with the weekly on Monday, buckle up

Full Moon in Virgo | February 19, 2019 - the Moon for butchers and bakers and candlestick makers, an ending and a beginning rolled into one, keeping our eyes on the prize and our thinking flexible

On Tuesday morning at 10:53AM EST, the Sun (at 0 degrees Pisces) opposes the Moon (at 0 degrees Virgo) giving us our annual Full Moon in Virgo. This is the second month in a row we have had a 0 degree Full Moon bringing us a culmination point/ending and a beginning at the same time!

This Full Moon is going to spotlight work issues, quality issues, health issues and issues/situations involving our daily activities - the nuts and bolts of life, cleaning stuff up - it's excellent energy for working with all of them.

Be mindful of what is coming to fruition now (this Moon is the culmination of September's New Moon) and also what we are keeping in motion regarding our work and health that it is time to release or withdraw our energies and attention from.

Full Moons tend to show us what we are holding onto. Don't be fooled (Mercury conjunct Neptune) into wasting energy propping anything up that isn't working.

Full Moons bring us to peak energy - things reach a culmination or a conclusion. Under the Moon's full power - things come to light, meaning to our attention or into the open. Usually a Full Moon in grounded, reality-based Virgo provides the facts. The fog lifts. The results are visible. Sanity prevails.

This year's energy is a bit trickier because we have Virgo's ruler Mercury conjunct Neptune (which brings the fog!) in Pisces - where Neptune is strong and Mercury is weak. The plot then thickens as BOTH Mercury and Neptune are sextiling sober and most decidedly un-foggy Saturn - strong in his home sign of Capricorn. And the Moon trines (brakes off) Mars plodding his way through Taurus and Uranus finishing up in Aries. The Moon inconjuncts Chiron, freshly minted in Aries, and at the powerful Aries Point, squares Juno (in Gemini) and sextiles Pallas (in Libra).

The Moon is conjunct fixed star Regulus (all of us were born with Regulus at 29 degrees Leo, but in 2011 he moved to 0 degrees Virgo - this is the star we talked about in the Trump posts, since it is conjunct his ascendant and it was most prominent during the Great American Eclipse of August 2017, that literally - and I mean literally - cut the country in half).

This powerful star is connected to "king-making" ie great and swift success, but just as swift a downfall if "revenge" is taken.

The star's move from Leo (the king) to Virgo (the servant) is another sign of the shifting "success potential" from the few to the many; of a shift away from hierarchical birthrights. Think about the way the internet has made "regular" people rich and famous and evened the playing field for many.

And, we have the Full Moon's ruler Mercury hitting the first degree he/she will re-walk during her upcoming retrograde today! So, we are going to be back here again at the end of March and even though mid-April.

Whatever story we have playing out is going to include some delays and revisions. We won't be going straight from point A to point B, passing GO and collecting $200.00.

What we learn now won't be the total story. The conversation will continue. Facts will need to be double-checked. Minds will change. In fitting with both Virgo and the Moon's 0 degree status - we are going to have to work/move through the process.

The opportunity (sextile) comes through sober Saturn, so keep your feet on the ground and your eyes on the prize - the long term goal here.

Know with Neptune/Saturn we either have the dissolving of a boundary/limit or the need for a sacrifice/release/ending to get to something more stable and lasting.

Let's say we want better health (and Virgo rules our health) - it will come through what we give up. Maybe we give up sugar or cigarettes or thirty minutes sleep a night to get up earlier and exercise. The sacrifice is necessary to get to the goal. And this may seem obvious with our health, but keep in mind success won't come through adding something (like a handful of vitamins) but through what we are releasing (like an addiction).

This is the way to think about how to reach goals and stabilize situations now - what do I need to give up to get it?

Or working the flipside of Neptune/Saturn (and even though this is only one aspect of this Full Moon, since it is a repeating aspect this year it packs more of a punch) - a limit/boundary is dissolved that creates greater stability/success. With the conjunction to Mercury - this would be a good time for a change in our thinking. Again it will be about what we release. Maybe a powerful thought about what isn't possible for us, that king-maker Regulus in Virgo reminds us is no longer "true". And maybe that thought that something isn't possible for us, that belief that is keeping us stuck, but used to keep us safe (an excuse to not venture too far from what is familiar) can be dissolved this year/this Full Moon/maybe right this instant.

Courage is required. We will have to give up one thing to get something else. We don't know what we don't know. Other people are needed. There is going to be a back and forth, two steps forward, one step back with whatever is going on. We will work the process. Things could get confusing.

Something could feel hard to hold onto. Lots of things could feel like they are slipping through our fingers. Maybe completions will still feel incomplete and unsatisfying somehow. Maybe we feel better - the symptoms clear up, but since we aren't sure what really happened or if it is going to happen again we still feel a certain unease with our health. We will have to see how this goes and work the process - do the daily stuff that keeps everything moving - with Neptune/Pisces there are always more questions than answers!

Keep in mind we are playing the long game. And this is the year we get lucky. Also that all the aspects we talked about in the weekly (other than the daily moons) are in play at this Full Moon.

xo all

don't forget to get out and walk in it and also to make some kind of symbolic release - a bag of clothes to Goodwill, a box of books to the library - free up some space for the good stuff to find you!

Full Moon In Scorpio May 14th - letting go of our need for certainty and seeing the truth coming to light

We are building toward Wednesday's full moon in Scorpio - this is the culmination of November's Scorpio New Moon, so something from that time may be coming to closure now.

Ruled by Pluto, Scorpio is a very powerful energy for transformation - any shaky ground we have built our life on now will come to light for us to clearly see or will tumble away altogether. The moon is conjunct Saturn, so take this stuff seriously. If we need to grow a backbone Saturn will see to it that we do, one way or the other.

Any time we let go of anything that is not true in our life (the stuff that is weighing us down) - we raise our vibration (live in our truth). This is vibration raising time, folks - and sometimes this doesn't feel so good.

Scorpio is about honesty (which can be a wonderful thing and a cruel thing, too).

True honesty is ferocious.

With the full moon (the emotions we are holding) in Scorpio the universe is asking us "Can you be deep? Can you live gracefully in a world that scares the hell out of you? Can you let go of the stuff you know isn't working before you can see what will? Can you live with the fact that maybe nothing will?".

Scorpio is wired for intensity.

If you are a Scorpio sun sign (born October 23- November 21st) you know you have to keep your sense of humor. A sense of humor will go a long way for all of us right now. It is actually a very powerful discipline and effective practice for living a happier life - if you have a lot of Plutonian energy (or are just living on planet earth) comedy on Pandora Radio is your friend.

I have a Scorpio rising sign so people's first reactions to me have always been complex

(our rising sign is kind of the mask we wear - it influences others first impressions of us, how we interact socially and how we view and relate to others - I also have Saturn conjunct my sun which seems to amplify this, but I won't get into that).

People either really like me or really dislike me immediately. I was the girl on the playground the other little girls wanted to be best friends with ... or beat up. There was never any middle ground for me.

I did not understood this intense energy was working through me and interacting with other people's intense (and often uncomfortable) energy; their loose ends. I just thought I had no social skills. Now, I know I do have social skills - they are just the kind that get you invited to coffee when people are hurting or looking for answers but not to the neighborhood barbecues. And this is all ok and more than ok actually, words are probably more important than cole slaw after all (well, unless the cole slaw is very, very good of course).

I will write more about this tomorrow - I have lockets to weld and orders to get out - and still want to get into the sun a bit today (I can feel my Vitamin D level increasing and my garden fairies celebrating with every plant that goes into the ground right now).

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

BACK TOMORROW - how to work with the full moon energy at play now
