Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of February 12th - there is MAGIC afoot, life gets LOUD, keep a notepad handy for those inventive flashes of genius, the lights go out, clarifying information, surprising news, how do we want to advance?

les chaise volantes by moumine

On MONDAY, the Moon continues her journey through Capricorn - knuckle down, get to work, avoid distractions.

At 2:22PM EST (11:22AM PST - that's a whole bunch of master number elevens and twenty-twos) the Moon will conjunct Pluto (this happens once a month) possibly making us more ambitious and likely opening up a brief window for deep transformation.

One of the things (2008-2024) Pluto in Capricorn has been teaching us is about taking personal responsibility for the ways we have given in to an image of ourselves as less strong/less capable than other people - the ways we have given our power away by not stepping into our responsibilities/gifts.

Our emotional Moon (yes, even in serious Capricorn our Moon has emotions!) hooks us into this energy now. We become aware of how we feel about how things are going in our visible, physical world. Maybe key into how you are feeling around this time of day.

If this day is kind of blah, don't worry - things are about to get a whole lot more interesting!

And actually by 6:42PM EST the Moon will sextile Jupiter - things could feel lighter and more pleasant already.

On TUESDAY, the Moon begins the day void of course and then moves into Aquarius at 10:11AM EST.

We will start to feel the build-up to Thursday's New Moon Solar Eclipse.

The Sun (in Aquarius) will sextile (opportunity) Uranus (in Aries and the ruler of Aquarius) and Mercury will square Jupiter. This sounds like Mardi Gras and actually it is the first day of Mardi Gras and with these aspects we won't have to be in New Orleans to feel it!

Life will be LOUD and interesting

(seriously check your volume, Jupiter will turn it up and no one wants to hear about your great idea while you are breaking the sound barrier).

If something interesting doesn't happen today or we don't have a new idea - we might seriously have to check our pulse! #kidding, #notkidding

We could meet someone new who has an important impact on us - so be out and about. Opportunities/ways to shine will come through the expression of our uniqueness now.

The fly in the ointment here could be thinking the rules don't apply to us, overlooking details or just thinking we know more than we do. Write your new ideas down because Mercury is fleet-footed and this energy is fast-moving!

This positive energy will last at least until Thursday's New Moon so have some fun with it! Do something different!

On WEDNESDAY, Tuesday's buzz continues! The Moon sextiles (opportunity) Mars (in Sagittarius) in the morning - giving us the passion, drive and energy to go after what we want. Time to take action.

Venus is moving toward Thursday's exact sextile with Saturn and it is Valentine's Day, so love (Venus) could be geared toward what is most stable and traditional (Saturn). Especially good for May-December romances/couples with age differences and relationships that get better with age. The opportunity (sextile) comes from what is real and has been worked at. We could be ready to commit.

This could also be about a reward (love/money) that has been a long time coming (someone's ship is coming in!) or a long-lasting (Saturn) benefit (Venus) that comes from what is started/impacted by this influence. Taking love seriously and working on our relationships and or finances can pay off.

(let's see if anything sobering happens again with Bitcoin/the cryptos this week)

On THURSDAY we have the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aquarius at 27 degrees. This one almost exactly opposes last summer's Great American Eclipse which was at 28 degrees Leo and could connect us back to events from that time.

The Sun and Moon are conjunct both Mercury (information, communications, ideas, thinking, siblings, neighborhood) and Juno (commitments, partnerships, contracts) - so they get eclipsed, too! Venus will sextile Saturn - again reminding us of our commitment/where we have given our word. And the whole thing squares Jupiter (in Scorpio) and sextiles Uranus (the eclipse ruler!).

Anytime we get an aspect to the eclipse ruler during an eclipse it is a big deal and this aspect is the opportunistic sextile!

And yes, I am using a whole lot of exclamation points in this post - wth - maybe it's just that kind of week or maybe it's about my second cup of a very strong new tea (I am starting to wonder if this is actually tea?!).

I will write a BIG post by sign this week, but likely this New Moon Solar Eclipse (partial eclipse) will involve some clarifying or new or surprising information/decision that pushes things forward, brings something to light or eclipses something out. It will likely involve a commitment/contract - verbal or written, maybe partnership related. And something about this whole thing will be liberating or won't follow traditional rules. Or something like that.

With Uranus there is no way of really knowing where this is taking us.

And keep in mind Jupiter tends to make things seem bigger/better than they actually are, BUT he is also usually around when the bigger/better actually happens, too. This will all play out over the next 6 months. And I say, "play out" - but remember this is our life, this isn't something that is happening to us, this is something we are actively co-creating and participating with!!!

(yes, a triple !, I blame the "tea")

The Moon goes void at 4:05PM EST, so maybe close up shop early.

Remember what the eclipse is doing - we are like a computer that has been rebooted after a software update.

If we keep on trying to do what we’ve always done (with that Aquarius/Leo storyline), we’ll stay on a deleted timeline (that old program), unable to move forward.

We'll talk about this in the New Moon post.

Also keep in mind Aquarius has a two-planet rulership - both Saturn (ancient ruler) and Uranus (modern ruler).

Everything with Aquarius is a two step process.

And it's an air (mental) sign.

So first we have to think things through - that's Saturn. In all things Aquarian, if we don't have a 'base of knowledge' - if we don't know what we are actually doing - we aren't going to succeed.

But if we stay too long at that first step - if thinking things through turns into over-thinking - we won't succeed either because there is a second part.

The second part - the Uranian part, is where we do the thing we never did before - we jump out of the airplane. We can't succeed if we don't jump, but we do so at our own peril if we never learned how to fold the damn chute!

Both parts need to be working together to succeed.

Also remember Aquarius success is different than Capricorn success. Aquarius rules advancement, not achievement (that's Capricorn), and there is a reason Aquarius follows Capricorn.

Our New Moon intentions will be focused on "how do we want to advance?" not what do we want to achieve. See the difference?

FRIDAY kicks off the Chinese Year of the Dog with the Moon in dreamy and imaginative Pisces. Saturday is a big day with the Sun and Mercury forming a superior conjunction and taking us back to their conjunction on December 17th.

I'll write more about all of this in the weekend's post.

xo all - back in a couple days with the New Moon Solar Eclipse by sign

Weekend Astrology Forecast for Creatives | have some waffles while waffling, deconstruction, an adventure maybe followed by a hangover

The life cycle of a waffle by sandas04

I wrote about this weekend's aspects in the weekly HERE but let's take a look at the Moons, too.

On FRIDAY morning the waning Moon (in Sagittarius) will square Neptune (in Pisces). Energy focused on releasing time-worn and thread-bare (and yes, I have always wanted to write timeworn and threadbare!) situations/materials would be time well-spent.

We will face less obstacles helping along whatever needs to be "de-constructed" than we will building something new now.

If something/someone maybe a situation/bad habit needs to be weaned - this is a good aspect for that.

Dissolving is easier than holding stuff together today. But, I said that already.

Compassion, forgiveness, healing, imagination, meditation are all favored activities. Our boundaries will be leaky. The morning's energy could lead to foggy thinking so this is not a good time to make an important decision.

By mid afternoon - around 3:30PM EST - the Moon will sextile (opportunity) Mercury in futuristic and humanitarian Aquarius. This would be great for an inspiring brain storming session. A good time to take action toward our Sagittarius or Aquarius goals regarding communications, promotion, politics, weddings. media, group projects, internet projects, travel, foreign or legal issues.

On SATURDAY, the Moon is void most of the day (11:38AM EST through 9:21PM EST) - this is not a good time to start something new (if you want something to come of it) but with the Moon's last aspect a trine to unpredictable Uranus it is good energy for embracing change and trying something else.

It's Saturday - a day to explore! People will not want to be tied down. The Void Moon coupled with Uranus tells us to keep plans flexible.

Venus will ingress into Pisces (see the weekly for more info) until March 5th. A good use of the next month would be to push ourselves to create a new imaginative project every day. Imagination not given some kind of 'form' could ooze off in unintended directions (this can be a good thing, but can also create alot of ooze to clean up later).

Coloring pages would be a good idea before more practical left-brained activities or writing a page every day or taking a photo everyday. Of course, if you are already doing this stuff you are going to have to really pump it up!

There is no way to control our Venus when she is answering to Neptune (ruler of Pisces) - it is best to give her some intentional time - art, meditation, time spent in or near water, healing work, imagination - so our Venusian resources - love, money, our values and self-esteem are not as subject to Neptune's 'drifting away' tendencies. Of course these things can drift in as easily as out, but then after they drift in they usually drift right back out again!

Our intuition will be heightened now. We will be more attractive to and have a greater relationship (Venus) with our 12 house blind-spots and whatever we have put away and don't want to look at - keep this in mind. Addiction/escapist tendencies can increase. Back-burnered creative projects (and the stuff we used to love) can move to the front burner now, at least for awhile. Boundaries thin, we become more porous. We will be looking at other people, particularly within partnerships, through a more rose-colored, idealistic lens. Keep this in mind.

On SUNDAY, the Moon in Capricorn conjuncting Saturn in the morning will focus us on more practical, traditional matters. Time will feel precious or pressured. We could be naturally more guarded and reserved. Some alone time will be a good idea for many people. Serious issues will seem even more serious. Whatever we can do today to contribute to a more solid base (whatever those words mean to you) would be a good use of our time. Call your dad.

Jupiter (in Scorpio) squares the Sun (in Aquarius) at 18 degrees. I write about this in the weekly HERE in relation to that issue from the 4th - this is also a time for assessments of character that can lead to success. Our egos are tested. Avoid taking on too much.

We will gather the facts together knowing we are in between eclipses and we don't know what we don't know. Yes, we are waffling now because it is a time for waffling and actually it's Sunday so maybe a time for waffles while waffling - it is not a time for firm decisions.Yes to waffles. No to jumping into things unless we are tethered to a rope and the rope has been tested for durability like they used to test those suitcases in the Samsonite luggage commercials and the knot on that rope has been tied by a sailor with 20 years experience and his 2.5 magnifying lenses. And even then ....

With so many planets in Aquarius, Jupiter aspecting the Sun, Venus moving into her exaltation in Pisces, Mars conjuncting the star Antares at the very heart of the Scorpian (the sign Mars co-rules) - there is alot happening in the build-up toward the February 15th New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aquarius conjunct Mercury and Juno (so yes, they are getting eclipsed, too!).

Extreme events can happen in between eclipses and not everything in our pan will turn out to be gold flakes. We will talk about this more next week.

That Cappy Moon will continue on Monday morning so be ready to get to work!

xo all - enjoy your weekend!

Last Quarter Moon, Venus Sextile Uranus | point of contention, take a few steps back, attracted to something different

msr by siyahtapot

Today we have our Last Quarter Square Moon - a point of contention/crisis - this month pitting the Scorpio Moon (going deep/diving in) against the Aquarius Sun (detachment/stepping back) at 18 degrees.

It is time to take a few steps back from whatever we have been soaking ourselves in since the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse of January 31st. There is nothing more to be gained from diving into the murky waters at this time - let's come up for air.

Keep in mind - this isn't a regular Last Quarter Square - we are in between eclipses. There isn't a way to see the complete picture from the position we are presently in. Somebody else's big head is blocking the movie screen. We don't know what we don't know. Maybe other things, involving other people/situations, have to fall into (or out of) place first.

For us to have greater clarity at the New Moon Solar Eclipse on February 15th - we need to give the situation some space now.

Coming at the same time that Venus (in Aquarius at 25 degrees) sextiles Uranus (in Aries at 25 degrees) it is probably a good time to turn our attention to something different. We will be attracted to something else. A new and unusual person/situation could find us attractive (magnetic), too.

The opportunity (sextile) comes from something new and future focused. This is good energy to interact with people you wouldn't normally meet/talk to.

This can be a big thing, but it doesn't have to be. Change something today. Experience something else.

And take a step back from the drama.

xo all

After we get through the next eclipse and into the next cycle - which I can't see clearly astrologically from here either - this is Aquarius, ruled by Uranus, we are talking about - we are making it up as we go along! - our collective Aquarius South Node story intensifies over the next six months.

This should lead to something for each of us, and something shared, revolving around "moving away from detachment and alienation". Releasing the kind of "out of touch with reality" PTSD world that living online and absorbing information 24/7 is creating.

Our nervous systems (Aquarius ruler Uranus) are saturated - we are shell-shocked from a world struggling to keep up with our expansion.

We can't stand on the sidelines (or sit in front of a screen) for fear of standing out or because we have been too numbed out to care anymore. We can't live in 'echo chambers' only able to communicate rationally with the people who agree with us and expect the future to look like anything other than a dystopian nightmare.

Through next autumn the way forward will be - yes, I am going to say this AGAIN - our heartfelt LEO energy (then we will move into Cancer and coming home).

Leo (and the house of our Sun) is the space in our natal chart we are naturally meant to SHINE.

Ruled by the Sun, this is the energy of our heart and our mission.

So, we honor those Aquarian wounds - the times we didn't fit in, the times we were persecuted for being ourselves/standing out, the ways we didn't shine for fear our light was not bright enough, for fear no one would notice (there is a reason, many reasons, we get so comfortably addicted so fast to living a life behind a screen - this is about to become a whole lot less comfortable though!).

And we release those wounds. The programs that created them will have been erased. We refuse to be divided from our purpose here. This is about following our heart's highest desire - and HINT - this has nothing to do with being a movie star, driving a fancy car and living in Hollywood.

But you already know that. xo ... again

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of February 5th - eclipse season spin cycle - old traumas ripe for release, how we alienate ourselves, the walls we have built to protect our hearts are keeping our heart's desires out, too, information, new ideas, Venus takes her first steps

Human Condition by Tina Apple

Remember where we are right now. We are in the spin cycle of eclipse season with the eclipses on the Leo/Aquarius axis. February kicked off with a Lunar Eclipse in Leo sending all of us into the washing machine to be spit out on the New Moon Solar Eclipse of February 15th.

The madness in U.S. politics is happening in each of our own lives somewhere, too.

(and yes, we should have been able to predict a Super Bowl with twists and turns and an Eagles win!)

 Eclipses shake us awake.

(we have been asleep for over 2500 years in the Age of Pisces - we are allowed to be a little groggy, BUT it's time to splash some cold water on our faces, get our feet onto a solid floor and stand up)

What eclipses do:

1. They bring things to light. Now, here's the rub with this. Full Moons always bring things to light - Full Moon Lunar Eclipses though, because the Moon is blocked by the earth's shadow, bring us partial pictures.

The full story isn't available to us yet. So, there is news, but pieces are missing or turned around . Things are not clear. This is why NOW IS NOT a good time to make a big decision. And we have lots of foggy Neptune action this month. It will not really be until the end of February when things are all cleared up.

2. Something ends. Endings almost always burn bridges. Going backward is no longer an option. Endings always bring a new beginning if we just turn our head around and stop looking backward. We have to keep moving forward. If we decide later we do not like the choices we made, the places we wind up - we will create (we are all massively powerful creators) new choices to make changes up ahead - this is a process because stuff has to fall in place to help us - but these choices are future choices - they can never carry us back over that old bridge because that baby is ashes.

3. Something changes direction. This is especially true when an eclipse touches a planet in our natal/progressed chart. We were heading over there and now we are headed over here. During the eclipse cycle this can happen several times!

4. Eclipses come in pairs and cycles and they take us higher and higher until something we are here to resolve gets resolved. We can't possibly process the changes and evolution we are here to make in one big swoop. It would be like pushing a kindergartner into college - it might be an ivy league school, but she would trip on her untied laces on her way into class.

We have to make big changes in steps. So one eclipse is a step followed by another eclipse that is another step. Sometimes a step is one of those 8" stairs that has been approved by the local building inspector and sometimes it is a 38" jump. The sets of eclipses cycle us through 18-24 months.

5. Eclipses bring outside events that we cannot control right to our doorstep. You know that stuff we don't want to look at, well eclipses have a way of making us look at it.

If health issues come up now - take things seriously. It doesn't mean it is going to be some big, serious thing. But we want to take care of it as an 8" step before it grows to 38"!

With the South Node in Aquarius, answering to Uranus, ruler of trauma - a subconscious trauma programming is being deleted for all of us. This will pertain to the theme of our natal Aquarius house.

EXAMPLE FOR SCORPIO RISING (Aquarius 4th house) this is about something being removed involving your home, family life, real estate, the foundation of your emotional well-being. This is about letting go of where/how you instinctively alienate yourself or sabotage yourself to stay safe within your family story - these past trauma energies are being released. The self-ostracizing events that made you become inclusive within your own family, within your own skin - let them go bye-bye now. We thank them for what they have given us. The programming was useful (it helped us survive) - until it wasn't. It is only self-sabotaging now, so let's let that crap go.

FEB. 3 - the Sun is conjunct the South Node illuminating the old trauma that is being released in our Aquarius houses - maybe something that has made us alienate or detach. HEADS UP when Mercury hits this point on the 9th whatever message needs to be delivered here will be delivered - we won't miss it.

EXAMPLE FOR ARIES RISING (Aquarius 11th house) the Sun is conjunct the South Node illuminating an old trauma that is ready to be released - maybe something that has made you self-ostracizing, something that made you become inclusive within your friendships, within your groups/causes. You are learning to lead with your heart. You don't always have to be strong and independent. You don't have to be first. You don't have to be angry for your passion to be visible to other people. You don't need someone to fight. The ways you do whatever it is you do that has contributed to your detachment within group settings can be released now. The times you spoke/acted out, within a group or with a friend, in your own, unique way and were shut down or left hung out to dry - that pain can be released now if you allow it to go. Adios amigo. Been there, done that. This doesn't have to guide your choices anymore. NOTE when Mercury hits this point on the 9th whatever message needs to be delivered here will be delivered - you can't miss it.

FEB. 4 - Jupiter vs. Venus - this is a day of conflict, there could be a surprise, there could be tension, whatever it is, it is making us uncomfortable. Venus in Aquarius is going to want to alienate, detach from whatever is going down and Jupiter in Scorpio is not going to let us do that! This cloud can have a silver lining, but we will have to dig deep and stay connected to our heart to find it.

FEB. 9 - Mercury conjuncts the South Node in Aquarius so maybe a conversation/idea/information comes in that allows us to deal with something from the past in a new way. Whatever this is be sure to be focused on the future (we know more now) and not on re-enacting/re-hashing the past.

FEB. 10 - Venus moves into dreamy, imaginative Pisces (through March 5th) where she is happy to lose her boundaries -

this can bring us closer to other people (you can see how this can be a good or not so good thing) and healing can happen more easily.

Pisces people become more attractive - both easier on the eye and able to attract what they want. All of our natal Pisces houses become more attractive, too.

Venus in Pisces can expand what we want - maybe we get more, maybe we just want more.

She can also dissolve our attachment to something we are holding onto. We can let it go now, our need/want can dissolve away. It won't feel like something has been yanked away from us, our attachment to it will just dissolve. We will just realize we haven't thought/felt anything about XYZ in awhile - its hold on us is gone. Kind of like when that song in your head is finally out of your head which you don't actually notice because you are thinking about something else.

Money and valuables (and our values!) can float right out to sea now, too - so be careful. This is a good time though for charitable giving or giving with no strings attached (because the strings will dissolve, too!).

Pisces rules the12th house of what is happening behind the scenes, our imagination, our dreams, spirituality, escape, addictions, healing, things and people put away - maybe something  we want (Venus) but haven't allowed ourselves to acknowledge (12th house) can emerge over the next few weeks.

Some situations involving Venus themes - love, money, our values and self-esteem - could be harder to control while Venus is in Pisces - some things can just be out of our hands.

EXAMPLE FOR AQUARIUS RISING (Pisces 2nd house) Venus moves into your house of money, resources, values and self-esteem. You become more financially attractive. The money you earn through your own efforts could increase now (thru March 5th). Tomorrow Jupiter in Scorpio will square your Aquarius Sun - this could increase your confidence and enthusiasm. Check any tendency to overspend or over-estimate your resources - money, time, energy this week.

FEB.11 - the Sun squares Jupiter. Remember on the 4th we had Venus square Jupiter - where we were not allowed to emotionally detach, so here is where we can get a larger view of this because this issue comes back again. And this time there is a spotlight shining on it.

This is a square so there is conflict/tension here, but this is also our chance to do our Jupiterian work in Scorpio - look closely. Go deep. Don't be afraid to go into the basement. Don't be afraid to turn over the rocks. Jupiter will be going retrograde over all these degrees throughout the spring so whatever story we are playing out here is going to be a long process.

Don't look too far ahead with this. All the puzzle pieces are not on the table yet. Just look at the part that is illuminated NOW.

Dig into that.

EXAMPLE FOR LEO RISING - Venus moves into your 8th house of other people's money, other people's resources, intimacy, taxes, loans, inheritances, reproduction this tells us the Sun/Jupiter square can PUSH situations happening in these areas. Intimacy and trust within a partnership can increase as well as the sharing/merging of your resources. Just keep in mind if the emerging situation is filled with Jupiterian enthusiasm what looks good may be slightly different than what is good for you. Again this is going to be a long process.

I will try to get up a daily with the Moons. Am a bit swamped with something at the moment, so this week's forecast is a bit shorter than usual. It does shortchange the forecasting because the Moons are all the day-to-day stuff and this report is more big picture - keep this in mind.

Also keep in mind all the stuff in this post are aspects you could feel days before or after.

For Monday, the Moon (in Libra) has his weekly melee with Pluto and Uranus so it should be an interesting day! Don't sleep in. Make popcorn.

The Moon goes void on Monday at 1:46PM EST (only void during working hours next week) until 10:46PM EST.

Looking ahead at the rest of the month after the February 15th eclipse which I will write a big post about - it will be all about Venus (and let me not forget Neptune).

Whenever Venus is uber active as she is this month our natal Venus factors into our current story - where is your natal Venus? what house is she in? what are you naturally attracting? how is she aspected? -

for example my natal Venus is in a wide opposition to my natal Moon, so I imagine my Venus jousting with her mother (Moon) or something about her home/family/roots (Moon) always conflicting with what she wants. She has always had to sneak out the window to get what she wants. She has always had to oppose her mother/her roots/her very self/her emotions/self-care. But this always leaves Venus alienated. How can she be satisfied/happy, how can she feel beautiful when she has forgotten the face of her mother? Oppositions require balance - so my Venus energy will always require balance.

It would be a good month - and we have Valentine's Day! - to read Venus's story (Aphrodite).

The stories of how the Gods handled/created the energies we are experiencing now are fascinating and very helpful. Uranus had to be castrated for Venus to be born - so maybe we will always have to give up a little bit of freedom (Uranus), a piece of ourselves (hopefully not such a big piece - ouch) to be in a relationship (Venus).

The Venus story this month could look something like this:

First, Venus is in her shadow, dealing with a shadow trauma - this is our Aquarius house stuff that is being released, then she gets into a battle with Jupiter (kind of like fighting with Santa Claus) then she sextiles (opportunity) stable Saturn, so now she remembers her commitment/where she has given her word, what she has to do now to get what she wants later, then maybe she gets all mystical and hippie-chick on us, maybe she gets swept away, maybe she loses something valuable here (hold on to your wallet people!), there is some kind of impatience or deception she has to deal with BUT by the end of the month the truth is finally revealed and Venus is one happy camper.

All's well that ends well (for Venus and our Venus chapter).

xo all
