New Moon in Aries | April 18th, 2015 | the courage to create | vision board time!
Saturday, April 18, 2015I believe our astrological birth charts are our contracts and road maps. They are the imprint of the moment we took our first breath - we literally are the universe at exactly that second. In the very next second the heavens move on and we are left holding the light for that previous precious moment in time that will never come again. We hold that light for our entire life for the entire planet.
Saturday's New Moon in Aries rings in the new astrological year. In almost the last degree of Aries this New Moon has no aspects to any other planet. Unlike the Aries New Moons of recent years - this one is unencumbered by complications (YAY) and in Aries it's all about us.
Think ME with this one. Think WHO DO I WANT to be now?
This new year will be all about finding our purpose - and fitting our individual purpose into the collective purpose.
Aries is very self sufficient. We might say selfish but this isn't about insensitivity to others. This is about the ability to say, "this is my life" and take action accordingly. Aries; ruled by Mars and ruler of the 1st house is the energy of "me".
Aries can't always see the other person's side of things because if they did they wouldn't be able to take quick, decisive action and that quick decisive action is what they are here to manifest.
The Aries New Moon is an excellent time for energetic support to set intentions and apply our focus to Aries stuff. Aries is the first sign so rules newness.
This is an excellent time to make a vision board!
This energy is potent so it's time to think bigger than what we want, although we'll include that, too - this is about who we want to be - who the world needs us to be now (and the world needs us to be ourselves - remember that unique and precious light we are carrying - the world needs that!).
Gather foamboard, glue (pass on Elmer's, it wrinkles - I cheated and just used clear packing tape over the top after laying everything out), magazines (new magazines are best, but new to you is perfectly fine), pinterest pictures, etc.
Play some soft music, sit quietly and choose what you place on your board intentionally.
Ask yourself who you want to be. What you want to do. Where you want to go. Find images that capture these ideas.
And find images that call to you.
Maybe the image is an adorable teddy bear and maybe it means you need to take more naps! If it's calling your name, pop it on there. We'll find out soon enough why it's there. This stuff is magic.
Be sure to include a happy, smiling picture of yourself on your board, too.
Get this done by the 22nd while we're still in the new phase of the Aries lunar cycle!
What does it take to embrace the new? It takes courage. And that's exactly what Aries offers. Note - this courage shows up from the doing - we can't sit around and wait to feel brave. It's like a muscle and gets built with use.
If a vision board is not for you do your regular monthly New Moon intentions working with Aries themes or do BOTH.
This is an excellent time for energetic support to make changes with things ruled by Aries : the head (headaches, acne, eyes, brain), our physical self, exploration, initiative, courage, leadership, strength, stubbornness, impulsiveness, temper tantrums, anger, stress from inaction - how can we use more Aries in our lives? Now is the time to set intentions for this stuff. Making our intentions visual this month and having them for the entire year is even more powerful!
AFFIRMATION TIPS: get into a clear frame of mind - always make affirmations from a positive place - write your affirmations down by hand in script, speak them out loud - I write my affirmations on strips of paper and burn them, releasing the ashes into moving water - then release your attention from these things knowing that your intention is known. Know these things are already yours.

I might do a vision board this afternoon, feels like a great day for something fun like that. This morning though, I'm on my way to an estate sale a friend told me about, that I *had* to go to. Hopefully I'll find something new! :)
Happy Sunday Cat, hope the sun is shining your way!
xoxo
