Weekly Astrology Forecast for Creatives | March 1st - March 7th, 2021 - third chances, unexpected benefits, waking up to the facts, a turning point, new movement, the pace quickens

OK, what a week - we are really leaning into the future now. Let's dive right in!

TUESDAY - Mercury trine North Node

WEDNESDAY - Venus sextile Uranus, Mars into Gemini

THURSDAY - Mercury conjunct Jupiter (3rd time!)

FRIDAY - Sun squares North Node, Last Quarter Moon in Sagittarius

SUNDAY - Pallas into Pisces

TUESDAY - Mercury (words, communication, ideas, children, education, local community, transportation, siblings, tech) at 15 degrees Aquarius trines the North Node (way forward) in Gemini.

A GREEN LIGHT is flashing somewhere in your life.

This is the first of Mercury's two repeating aspects this week. A conversation/idea/information pulls things forward. An arrow at the words - this is the best choice. Well, it's maybe not that exacting, but something is a good idea here. And we will know it is a good idea because it is the idea we are having. It is what is happening NOW. A positive/forward leaning announcement. Good news. A beneficial conversation/contract. Say it again. Listen.

FORWARD movement.

WEDNESDAY - Venus at 7 degrees Pisces sextiles Uranus in Aries, Mars exits Taurus for Gemini

Venus (our love, money, resources, values, self-esteem, women, beauty) in watery Pisces, where she is EXALTED makes an opportunistic sextile to change-maker Uranus (in Taurus, so answering to Venus). We can very easily release control/let down our boundaries and open ourselves to something new/unusual.

What we perceive as beautiful is changing. What we love is changing. The way we view and make and hold onto our money and resources is changing. Our values are changing. What we need to feel safe/secure is changing.

Pisces changes are gentle. Uranian changes not so much. But beneficial Venus (through her rulership of Taurus) has been cushioning the blows for us since 2019

(yes, this is what cushioning looks like, go figure, I expected something, well something a little more cushiony actually),

but she isn't always in the soft environment she is now. So now, the change actually is cushiony.

In Pisces, change happens slowly. Our attachment to what is no longer needed kind of drifts away. "Oh did I want that? I can't remember anymore". Our acceptance of something new and unusual or something futuristic/liberating is much smoother/easier to absorb in boundary-less Pisces. Good energy for trying a new look, a new way to make money, meeting someone new (and different). And keep in mind, Venus is EXALTED in Pisces, I know I said that already, but really can't say it enough - so at her most attractive.

This is also the day fiery Mars leaves Taurus, where he (as we) has been kind of grinding his heels, and been in a kind of warrior mode protecting what we value. Now, he moves into energetic/frenetic mental Gemini. Mars in Gemini will have us running here and there. We can walk and chew gum at the same time now. More than one move is possible/more than one direction at once. This is the energy that loves multi-tasking. Keep in mind, too many balls in the air (especially during Pisces season), can be an exciting thing, until they are all in a pile at our feet. If everything is equally important than nothing is really important. Skills to prioritize and stay on track will come in handy. Mars will be happier in Gemini than in Taurus because he needs to move - and so do we now.

With Mercury (Mars in Gemini is answering to him/her) covering old ground until he comes out of his retrograde shadow on March 13th - alot of our energy could be spent on old situations for awhile. So, maybe we can say/do it differently this time.

Watch for flashes of temper and tricky situations to come and go quickly.

What is that old expression - don't get too worked up about the weather because it's about to change. With a mutable Sun, Mars and Venus, well, that's a good way to look at life right now. Stay flexible. Things are in flux. Mars will be in Gemini until April 3rd.

THURSDAY - Mercury at 17 degrees Aquarius meets Jupiter

Mercury (our thinking, ideas, communication, local community, education, children, transportation, tech) meets Jupiter (expansion, luck, wisdom) in Aquarius (the future, tech, groups, causes, individuality).

This isn't our first rodeo.

We lived this aspect back on January 11th, 2021 when something expanded -

here is what I wrote back then, this was the week we were talking about 'the change that was worth the trouble'  - "GOOD NEWS. Lucky conversations/ideas. Being in the right place at the right time. Saying just the right thing. Whatever is going on now brings the opportunity to heal very old and very deep wounds. Chiron sextiles are one of the major stories of 2021 and having this one happening as Mercury and Jupiter launch a new/hopeful story is a good thing".

Then Mercury met Jupiter a second time on Valentine's Day when Mercury was retrograde

(at 13 degrees Aquarius, here is where things may have retracted a bit or we might have been looking under the hood/going back over something, we had more information - things maybe weren't as good/or as bad as they seemed back in January).  Their third meeting is today.

In the United States we had Trump getting impeached at the first pass last month (Pelosi announcing intention), then his acquittal at the second pass this month and now on the final pass, he is speaking at CPAC (annual Conservative Political Action Conference), so back on the center stage. Does it matter? It might. I noticed on Election Day 2024, transiting Jupiter is exactly conjunct his North Node. I. Kid. You. Not. There is alot of ground to be covered between now and then though. We have to trust this ride we are on, there's no comfortable exit and I suspect our ticket is not refundable.

Anyhoo, let's pull this story back to OURSELVES.

Because Mercury meeting expansive Jupiter again - is a second THIRD chance for all of us, too.

Third time's the charm, baby. Think BIG. Think FUTURE.

This is good news/confidence boosting words - maybe something that has been in play/on our mind since mid-January(?) - well here is the confirmation, more grounded in reality now, about this OPPORTUNITY and the REAL START of this Mercury/Jupiter in Aquarius story.

FRIDAY - the Sun at 15 degrees Pisces squares the North Node in Gemini and South Node in Sag, Last Quarter Moon 15 degrees Sagittarius

Well, the week can't be all puppies and cotton candy.

Here's a block/crisis/reality check that must be dealt with before we can move forward.

The North Node is in factual (but local, think - small), communicative and flexible Gemini, this, and your natal Gemini house theme, is your way forward. The Sun, in imaginative, spiritual and connecting/compassionate Pisces is our fuel to get there. Now, we are at some kind of choice point/turning point. Are we looking with our 2020 (!) hindsight or with our rose-colored glasses? Are we going with the facts or still escaping into lala-land? Are we making the call, having the conversation, using our words or are we going back to sleep/Netflix? This might not be so cut and dried because with Neptune squaring the Nodes, the facts are slippery, but are we moving toward the future? Or the past?

With TWO important aspects to the Nodes this week - it might be a good time to re-read THIS.

At the same time the Sun has reached an important decision point, the Moon is having her own crisis. She reaches her monthly last quarter square. This is the Moon in Sagittarius square the Sun in Pisces. This feels a bit like 'hope fading', but maybe a desire for more/better makes us question what is unrealistic/fantastical.

THIS IS REPEATING the Sun's square really. Time to wake up from the delusion/paranoia and look at the big picture AND the nitty-gritty facts.

SUNDAY - Pallas leaves Aquarius for Pisces

More Pisces!

With Pallas in the watery/intuitive realm of Pisces - we get smarter using our imagination, meditation, prayer, our dreams, music, our proximity to someone else's wisdom - yes, osmosis, I'm talking tactical/useful osmosis. Inspiration. Intuition. We always have access, but now we can make some calculated use of it. Our Pisces natal house, normally a kind of free-floating place is now home to our wise warrior energy. Write down your dreams. Get some extra sleep/into the water/escape as needed. We need to be able to go with the flow/release our grip on the solid/here and now. Pallas will station retrograde in Pisces (27 degrees) in July and not direct until November (9 degrees) so will be in Pisces for the rest of the year.

The fly in the ointment, and there's always a fly (even in the winter) and always some ointment (even as the store shelves clear) - Pallas's vision in Pisces can be a little too fuzzy. Objects can be closer than they appear. We might see patterns that don't exist. Connect unconnected dots. Pisces rules things that spread like viruses and we now have our wise warrior woman here until 2022 (a good thing I think, but we'll just remember the whole thing about connecting unconnected dots) plus our Pisces house (we had Mercury and Ceres playing tag team here in 2020) smartens up.

Again, this is kind of reinforcing yesterday's WAKE UP/SMARTEN UP aspects and giving them a longer playing field.

xo all

please excuse any typos, each time I re-read I find another one, and it's too late for coffee ... also make sure you are getting enough rest/sleep now - we might all be more tired than usual as the Moon wanes toward the final New Moon of the astrological year (the final 23 degree New Moon!) on March 12th ...

Full Moon in Virgo | February 27, 2021 - divine justice, fix it or forget it, adjustments to our responsibilities, KNOWING we don't heal by ourselves or only ourselves

On Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 3:17AM EST, the Virgo Moon opposed the Pisces Sun at 8 degrees giving us this month's Full Moon - our annual Full Moon in Virgo.

Full Moons bring things to light, to peak energy, to a result, sometimes to a conclusion.

The Moon and Sun oppose from 8 degrees Virgo/Pisces. They exactly square asteroid Nemesis, who forms the focus of a mutable t-square. The Moon conjuncts (exact) asteroid Aphidas, trines Uranus (separating) and inconjuncts Chiron (in Aries). The Sun conjuncts (separating) beneficial Venus. Mercury, the ruler of Virgo and so the ruler of this lunation, has recently stationed direct, but is still covering old ground in Aquarius.

Is there such a thing as old ground in Aquarius, well, yes, yes there is actually!

He/she (Mercury is a little hard to pin down in this respect) is strong enough in Aqua and conjunct beneficial Jupiter (applying for the THIRD TIME - third time's the charm?). In Aquarius, Mercury is answering to Saturn and Uranus, so they could be said to rule this new Moon by disposition. Saturn is in Aquarius, too, exactly conjunct asteroid Hybris. Uranus is in Taurus, trining the Moon, squaring Saturn and conjunct asteroid Koronis (another tested stand-in for the virus, applying). Mars is exactly conjunct asteroid Sedna (in Taurus) and they are squaring (separating) Pluto - the last man standing in Cappy. Uranus in Taurus is answering to Venus, exalted in Pisces and answering to Neptune in his own sign. Whew!

Take a breath. Grab a cup of something. Let's unpack this baby.

Virgo is all about doing the right thing or doing the thing right. Virgo naturally rules our day to day activities, our work, our health. In Virgo we gain dignity and self respect from being good at something that is useful to other people (those who think Virgos are fussy or nitpicky, and they can be sometimes, are totally missing the point and also forgetting we all have Virgo in our charts).

The shadow for Virgo is the trap of perfectionism, criticism and "control" (Virgo's careful attention to detail and caring taken to a detrimental extreme) - something we learn in Virgo's polarity (opposite) sign of Pisces to release. In our hero's journey through the zodiac, there appears to be a whole lot of steps (and signs) between Virgo and Pisces, but being two sides of the same coin the distance is not so very far at all. The real vs the ideal/fantasy. What we can fix/heal vs what we just need to release/let go and let God.

A Full Moon in Virgo leaves no where for those pesky problems to hide. As the Sun is occulted, the Moon is showing us, through a Virgo lunar lens what the Sun is actually seeing in Pisces. A rare gift since Pisces is so illusive. Have we been looking through rose-colored glasses? Avoiding? Escaping? Sacrificing too much? Are there health/work issues we need to fix/heal/release? Chiron's aspects here (and Chiron might one day be said to rule Virgo) speak of our ability to see the way our very old woundings have contributed to where we now find ourselves. With Virgo/Pisces this could be something about seeing clearly our responses to reality and this being made plainly clear to us with whatever it takes - a late notice, clothes that don't fit, high blood pressure, work stresses. We might need to fix/edit or we might need to wave a white flag of surrender. It's a time to put down burdens that are no longer ours to carry OR stop avoiding/escaping from the service/work.

The Full Moon is just off that smooth trine to Uranus - change pushing us forward. Then she squares the Nodes - a choice - but the Moon is Full, so this shouldn't be a hard choice, at least not in the sense of knowing what to do. We do know what to do. Mercury is walking these Aqua degrees for the THIRD time. Whatever is unfinished - maybe because of this draining/reality tweaking Neptune square to the Nodes of Fate, good God when will this end?! - we need to be done with this thinking/overthinking. We probably need to focus on what is most productive. The nitty gritty. This is Virgo - what makes the most sense? Mercury is going to meet Jupiter - opportunity/luck/expansion - ONE FINAL TIME in the week ahead - third time's the charm folks - use it or lose it!

We will talk about this more in the weekly.

The Asteroids are particularly interesting this month. Asteroid Nemesis is EXACTLY squaring the Moon/Sun from 8 degrees Sagittarius (somehow I printed this chart without her, but she's there!). In modern language usage nemesis speaks of an enemy/competitor and surely someone/something is playing that role now here, but the mythology of Goddess Nemesis is a bit different. She was said to be the Goddess of something like due enactment (karma) ensuring no one received too much of a good thing, that the goodies were more evenly disbursed and she was particularly focused on punishing acts of hubris. I also see her speaking of the way we feel the need to meet some rule in order to be "of service" or consider ourselves valuable/valued.

Nemesis brings us to asteroid Hybris (hubris) - Goddess of foolish pride/arrogance. She speaks of being called to account for stepping beyond the boundaries of the gods. But much is changing and this is a complex idea right now. So many people are afraid of their own power and fear being called narcissistic/selfish. We have been so conditioned to follow authority/to love/honor/obey. She is conjunct Saturn, so might we be doing reverse-hubris? Are we taking false humility too far both personally and collectively? Or do we really just need to be less of an asshole.

Another asteroid prominent at this Full Moon is asteroid Aphidas - a centaur, we talked about in a missing children post HERE. Killed by a thrown sword (after the centaurs drunken rampages at the wedding of Pirithous and Hippodamia) and known for his death while asleep, likely drunk and unlikely innocent - he is thought to possibly speak of 'not being spared' since he was no threat at the time he was killed. I also think he might speak of a part of us that is asleep to what we have previously done when the payment for that doing comes due. If you get what I mean. The Asteroids certainly provide a clearer picture, and somehow muddy the water at the same time, go figure.

The Full Moon in Virgo at its simplest, and its next aspect square to the Nodes bears this out, is about - defining the reality of the situation (here is what is illuminated) and asking ourselves if we can realistically improve/help to heal this situation and if the answer is yes, and it very well may be, especially if we have been working with and adjusting to the changes/disruptions - and then do whatever it is that needs to be done. And, if the answer is no, we can't fix this/heal this. And, let me say it this way - we can't REALISTICALLY fix this/heal this (this is a realistic Moon, put the rose-colored glasses in the drawer for this one) - then releasing this burden - what we can't have/can't fix/can't change - let go and let God. Either way an adjustment is needed to our responsibilities/burdens (the Saturn inconjunct in this chart) and the adjustment will bring greater freedom or needed change. What we don't need - the Mercury third time through Aquarius - is more overthinking/detachment/worry that keeps us stuck.  And with Mercury, ruler of this lunation, set to make one final play with expansive, optimistic and lucky Jupiter next week - some THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM good luck/good news with this one.

Today's astrology Forecast for Creatives | Thursday, February 25, 2021 - energized by our imagination and intuition, making the dream real, gentle change

The Moon in Leo (girls just wanna have fun!) finishes up her oppositions with this month's Aquarius stellium - opposing Mercury at 4:45AM EST and then Jupiter at 11:40AM EST. We can enjoy the fun-loving and creative Leo Moon, but our responsibilities to the collective/group and to the future that beckons/pulls us forward won't be pushed aside.

There are two BIG astro events today - Venus makes her move into Pisces - the sign of her EXALTATION (early AM EST) and our Pisces Sun sextiles (opportunity) chaotic Uranus in Taurus.

We talked at length about Venus in Pisces HERE

The Sun's sextile to Uranus is hot off the back of yesterday's exact and potent Mars/Pluto trine. What cosmic magic is this?! And I very much love any positive aspect between something in Pisces - and the Sun is a pretty big and powerful SOMETHING - and an earth sign. Making the dream real. Magic makes its way down to earth and lands at our feet. With Uranus answering to benefic Venus, freshly minted in the sign of her exaltation, and with a waxing Moon in Leo, this aspect is even better.

Keep in mind Uranus is about change/the future/being ourselves (the chaos is really us not wanting to change/let go and letting go is kind of Pisces deal - she can help with this). Pisces is about going with the flow - we can't force whatever this is. We just want to be doing our Pisces - using our intuition, compassion, connection, imagination, creativity, meditation, prayer, forgiving/giving (plus our Pisces natal house theme).

A soft light is thrown on our future. We can more easily let go of what is leaving. If our hands need to be freed up for something else they are needing to hold onto later, here is where the release can be more gentle. It slides right out of our hands.

With Uranus in Taurus (our money, resources, values, self-esteem, plus our Taurus natal house theme) interacting with the softness of Piscean water - change is good/easy. We can do this. An opportunity in earth likely requires some kind of movement on our part (and Pisces some openness) - and BOOM we have Mars (action) in Taurus, too (practical action), plus he is interacting with powerful Pluto, to handle this part.

Action/initiative/passion is empowering.

Keep in mind water (Pisces) and earth (Taurus) can make bricks but also mudslides. Pisces is the slippery slope, your mother (and accountant and astrologer) warned you about. Spending $10 turns into $100. One sip into the whole bottle. A kiss into a fast trip to Vegas (although I guess this isn't happening so much anymore).

We can lay down for ten minutes and wake up five hours later. Creativity flourishes - we don't want to sleep our way through this one.

Unless you are very, very tired and sometimes we are and in this case, and if you do, remember your DREAMS, write them down, because your muses/angels will find/need some way to reach you!

Today's Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Wednesday, February 24, 2021 - taking action, taking control, even with all the challenges right now something falls into place when we do

The Moon is void until 7:3AM EST when she moves into fun-loving, generous and egoic Leo. Here is where we are nurtured by standing out, being creative, getting attention, romance, children, recreation. With all the Aquarius and Taurus energy challenging Leo right now, our Leo Moon can't be her gregarious self. She will square Uranus at 8:49PM EST and oppose Saturn at 9:52PM EST. She will continue the oppositions and squares into Friday morning when she goes void off a square with Mars at 6:32AM EST.

So, the Moon is having these Leo/Aquarius challenges - how we stand out/how we enjoy or create, etc vs collective/group needs. We want to have fun/follow our heart, but we have these restrictions/responsibilities. She also is having Taurus squares pulling our actions/change and our money, resources, values and self-esteem into the mix. There are lots of ways this can show up. This is your natal/progressed Leo,  Aquarius and Taurus house themes at play (and yes, the play may not be so much fun).

Before the Moon makes any of these aspects she will inconjunct our Pisces Sun. This happened while we slept last night EST, and influences the day.

Our monthly waxing inconjunct. This time - Leo/Pisces. Inconjuncts are rocks and hard places. They don't fit. Pisces soft touch/compassion can be an entrance into Leo's generosity and certainly Leo would never get close enough to be vulnerable without Pisces, but mostly these guys' attributes are kind of at cross-purposes. This might show up now as a need to be appreciated for something we have been sacrificing for. Being part of our monthly lunar story we know this is important as we build toward this week's Full Moon. We need to be flexible. Work both sides of the personal/universal themes here.

The good news today, and the way through the lunar challenges, is the Mars/Pluto trine (brakes off) at 6 degrees Taurus/Capricorn. This is powerful. Keep in mind Mars is the lower octave of Pluto making this particularly potent. Pluto pulls our martian action, initiative, anger, aggression down into the darkness and makes us stronger. Aligns us with our unconscious motivations. Our actions align with our obsessions - and this sounds like trouble and it can be, but not this time. This time it is needed. WHAT DO YOU FEEL COMPELLED TO DO? And why do we really want to do this/hold onto this? The resistance fades (trines should be smooth/easy) as we understand what was once hidden.

We get it now.

This is an earth trine, so we still need to be practical/do the work, but things will fall into place when we do. When we step into our power/take control of what we can control. This particular Mars/Pluto story actually kicked off back in late March 2020. NOW we have reached the point where we have more control/a deeper understanding of Mars/Pluto's part in the 2020's (the decade not the year) restructuring of our life ....

This is ambitious/courageous energy.

On a more basic level (because everything is happening on multiple levels) this can be about taking action with a Plutonian theme - merged money, other people's money/resources, taxes, insurance, inheritances, sex, reproduction, what needs to be purged, life/death or a Cappy theme - our career and work in the world. For example, my hub's business closed last year. It's been a long process to figure out it won't be re-opening. The loose ends are tangling us/strangling us more than the actual lost business at this point, so any action we can take now to tidy up these ends (for example I am closing the business bank account today and moving the money into our personal account) is a good idea. Productive. Powerful. Moves things forward. This doesn't have to be some big thing, but the thing that looks like a small thing won't really be a small thing, if that makes sense.

More in the weekly on the trine HERE.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Monday, February 22, 2021 - feeling all the feels and going with the flow today

The Moon is comfy/cozy in her home sign of Cancer now. We are nurtured through things that are most conventionally nurturing - home, family, safety, comfort. Mom and apple pie. The next couple days, while the Moon is in Cancer, we might find ourselves a little more emotional/moody as we take stock of our feelings. We might feel a bit nostalgic/more conservatively inclined.

(with all the significators for the virus interacting with the United States natal chart this week, it is no surprise the United States, a Cancer country, is reaching - feels/notices/absorbs - an emotional milestone now)

Lunar people (born at night, strong Moon, strong Cancer, etc), who might be more attuned to viewing through the lunar lens, due to the Moon's position in their birth chart - can focus on the cyclical/changeable nature of reality and this might seem the dominant characteristic of life. Security, natural cycles, the warmth of another human being's touch, food and a safe space can be more important than any abstract quest for meaning (a more solar life) because life truly must be coped with day-to-day. Lunar people are especially gifted at keeping their feet on the ground and dealing with changing events and people in a sensible and compassionate manner. Taken to an extreme, or overly stressed, we can sometimes get stuck 'in our Moon' and it is harder for us to look beyond our personal/or immediate circumstances.

As we move toward a Full Moon moment (like we are this week)/things coming to a fruition, we can be assured there is a past/a system of cycles that led us to this moment. There was a hidden beginning (the New Moon) when the seed was planted under the dark skies. There were times of development/challenges as she waxed (grew). And we can know there is a future (where rot sets in and she wanes) past the Full Moon where something reaches its inevitable end. The Moon in our chart, and her placement, house of rulership, aspects, etc - speaks of our past lives, our maternal heritage, our emotional temperature.

Today, the Moon trines the Pisces Sun (trines are smooth flows and happen between signs of the same element) at 6:46AM EST.

Cancer/Pisces is an easy flow of emotions/sentiment, but things can get pretty wet. The family is integrated into the larger whole. Our lens widens. Compassion/intuition the final ingredients in our two-week New Moon in Aquarius story-line.

The Moon moves on this afternoon to square Chiron (ouch) and sextile (opportunity) Uranus. Keep in mind, that painful square to Chiron (in Aries) is part of the process. Let's welcome it. Maybe let's think - "oh my, that hurt, so why does that hurt?". The Moon in Cancer (symbolized by the sea crab) can like her protective shell (she carries her home with her remember), sometimes a little too much.

Today's final lunar aspect is a productive sextile to Uranus in Taurus (1:08PM EST) and speaks of opportunities through change/the new. Something unexpected. The Moon is waxing. We are growing/moving forward.

Repeat after me - I can change. I can change. I can change.

Weekly Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of February 22nd - 28th, 2021 - the go ahead, practical action, courage, fortune favors the bold, plus a Full Moon in Virgo

A week without any outer planet squares or oppositions - am I still on planet Earth? And Mercury is direct now? And Venus meets the Sun at the Full Moon while Jupiter trines the North Node?

Well, before we get too excited (but definitely, let's get excited) we know with a Full Moon in Virgo at the end of the week, the Moon will be in Leo by mid-week, so bringing the drama/ego challenges (Taurus squares and Aquarius oppositions). That's OK. This week still looks better than what we had been dealing with earlier in February.

We will take it. Grab it. With both hands. And if it runs through our fingers like water, that's OK, too (we will just spritz on some hand sanitizer and keep going). It's Pisces season. We are flexible now/rolling with the punches. Going with the flow.

WEDNESDAY - Mars trine Pluto

THURSDAY - Sun sextile Uranus, Venus into Pisces

SATURDAY - Full Moon in Virgo (8 degrees), Jupiter trine North Node

Let's unpack the week!

WEDNESDAY - Mars (at 25 degrees Taurus) trines Pluto

Mars in Taurus has been fighting for comfort/to hold onto what we have or what we value/trying to maintain. He has finally untangled himself from all the Aquarius squares. Whew. Now, as he (as we) moves steadily, without all the static, through his last week in Taurus, he trines (brakes off) powerful Pluto at 25 degrees Capricorn.

This is ambitious, practical energy. Courage.

If we have been working our way through those squares, here is where our actions (Mars) will be enabled/aided by people in power (Pluto). Our efforts are potent/useful. Stepping into our power now - pays off. Progress. This can also be about transformations/purging within our Capricorn house that result in real world progress now/results that pay off in our Taurus house.

THURSDAY - the Sun (at 7 degrees Pisces) sextiles Uranus while Venus enters Pisces

Here's where having our Sun in the mutable sign of Pisces is already helping us. Here is an opportunity to change/channel the future. Maybe it is through releasing our attachment to whatever is drifting/dissolving or just by resting/relaxing - we can more easily connect with the opportunities for freedom/change/the future that the Sun is bringing to light. Forgiveness/compassion/idealism spreads. Technology's edges blur. Something new/innovative/forward leaning comes to light. Pisces brings the flexibility and Uranus the change. This will be different than we planned. Stay flexible.

Your early Pisces house and your early Taurus houses are super-charged now, what will you do with this?

Venus (art, beauty, women, values, money) moves into Pisces (imagination, dreams, compassion, connection) today, settles into a comfy spot at the Pisces party, most certainly in the center of everything or I should say wherever she settles becomes the center of everything.

She is the most beautiful woman in the room and the space in each of us that carries the energy of attraction. Mars goes after what he wants, Venus draws it to her. Her fierce beauty (I wouldn't dare call her pretty and she quite often isn't) has toppled empires and created dynasties.

Within the otherworldly realms of Pisces BIG magic is possible. Venus will be in Pisces until March 21st.

Pisces Sun people and Pisces rising people become more attractive now, (how have we never noticed how blue your eyes are or how deep your voice?). All of our Pisces houses become more attractive, too. And all of us attract what we want by working through Pisces - our Pisces natal house theme and through our ability to show compassion, create beauty, honor feelings, stay emotionally open, use our imaginations. In Aquarius it was our differences that attracted people and situations to us, in Pisces it is our ability to believe and honor our commonality.

Venus is exalted in Pisces. Her love/charm is endless. She can work her magic here.

She expands relationships, money and self-esteem. Opportunities increase. Resistance dissolves.

The tricky part of Venus in Pisces is we need to know what we want now. We need to know our values. Our lines in the sand. Because the lines between us and other people, between acceptance and avoidance, between our money and their money, between love and 'what was I thinking' - will blur.

In Pisces, things that look too good to be true usually almost always are. And what flows in can flow right back out again. But if we set boundaries - what is ok, what is not ok - and release our expectations that outcomes must go a specific way - this is wonderful energy for more beauty, love and money to move into our lives. The irony with Venus in Pisces is that although we can attract more love and money those things often will feel less important now.

SATURDAY - Jupiter (at 16 degrees Aquarius) trines the North Node and the Pisces Sun opposes the Virgo Moon - giving us this month's Full Moon, our annual Full Moon in Virgo (last year's Full Moon in Virgo was with the Sun on Neptune, March 9th, the virus/fear of virus/news coverage of the virus was exploding). My favorite sign actually.

Jupiter trines the North Node at 16 degrees Gemini and sextiles the South Node at 16 degrees Sagittarius. Faith. Optimism. Expansion.

The Full Moon we will unpack in her own post.

Keep in mind, Mars (the trigger) is moving over Sedna, the natal U.S. Wuhan/Pandora conjunction, fixed star Algol, this week, too, at the same time all the virus significators we've worked with over the last year are interacting with the U.S. natal chart.

We'll talk about that, too.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Friday, February 19, 2021 - challenging conversations and ideas shouldn't be avoided now, making a flexible choice, seeing multiple options, getting out of our head

The Moon is in Gemini now - we are nurtured through ideas/learning, conversations, variety, versatility, humor/logic, pairs of things, interactions within our local community, with our siblings, our tech/transportation, commerce (sounds random, but think about Mercury/Hermes, ruler of Gemini, our fleet footed and trickster messenger and about how ideas and other things spread). Her only aspect today, our important monthly First Quarter Square. The Gemini Moon squaring the Pisces Sun at 1:47PM EST.

Today is ripe with squares actually, but forewarned is forearmed!

The Gemini/Pisces square could indicate a tense conversation or information that comes in. We might want to escape/avoid, but we won't be able to and avoiding the tension of the First Quarter Square just mucks things up. We need to work through this. We might have to make a choice/decision. We might need to separate the Gemini facts/sets of things from the Piscean illusion/boundless whole. Mercury, ruler of Gemini, is still retrograde, so this might still be about needed revisions.

On the flipside and there's always at least two sides - this can be about us needing emotional connection. We need to get out of our own heads for awhile! We might try being more compassionate and less logical (like that recently-resigned mayor in Texas who said 'man it up' at precisely the wrong moment - knowing/feeling the difference between when to help/offer grace and when to stay detached is a skill much needed now).

The skies have moved from Aquarius to Pisces people - try and keep up.

Once we get clear here/work through the square/DECIDE we will be back in the monthly flow of the Moon. This isn't about making a firm stand because Mercury is still retrograde, but more about kind of guiding the energies - this is all mutable energy, decisions are SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Tomorrow the Gemini Moon is going to start trining (brakes off, smooth flow) the Aquarius planets, but we have to get through this square first.

Avoiding a choice/decision/conversation now means the trines won't have anything solid to work with! There can be no smooth flow, if there's no water in the river. And keep in mind Gemini isn't really about narrowing anything down to just one thing - there can be multiple ways through here. Multiple ideas. Multiple answers. Multiple rivers.

This is also the day Venus squares Mars and Vesta squares Juno - so we are pushed and cornered on all fronts. Venus/Mars is more of the Aquarius/Taurus we have been dealing with this month. The Saturn/Uranus was more collective/big picture and today's energies are more immediate/personal.

What we want vs what we have to do to get what we want. The future vs what we hold in our hands now. What we want to have later vs what we have right now. Freedom vs stability. The feminine vs the masculine. Air vs earth. Detachment vs getting our hands in the dirt. This one can cut either way. Actions to hold onto something can work against our need for greater freedom/space/the future or a new/unusual attraction can work against our efforts to create something solid/stable or keep what we have now.

At the same time a retrograde Vesta has backed into her exact square with Juno. This is more mutable energy, but this time Virgo/Sagittarius. With Vesta retrograde we will be back here again around the middle of June, so this one needs some time to iron out. Vesta in Virgo is focused on healing/fixing. But maybe focused Vesta in focused Virgo is too focused on what is going wrong and can't see what is going right. Juno (our partnerships, contracts, commitments, women) is in Sagittarius bringing some big-picture hope/optimism/greener pastures over there. She can see what is/can be going right, but is maybe avoiding the thing that needs fixing. What to do with this one? Well, this will be a process and happening at the time of the First Quarter Square - again will indicate a need to make a choice/have a conversation, stay flexible. With the Moon in Gemini multiple things can work - maybe a two pronged approach is needed. If this is a partnership thing with one partner obsessed with what is wrong and one partner being more optimistic, but maybe avoiding the problem altogether - the tension of this/the need to do SOMETHING/make some progress with this, will be felt now.

Not an easy day, but the tension/frustration is NEEDED. Last week's Aquarius New Moon was mega-charged - and lands with TWO FULL MOONS in Aquarius next summer. Here is where we meet our first challenge/get to review our progress.

We don't want to be skipping steps/falling asleep at the wheel.

We know the Gemini Moon is about communication/information, so DON'T avoid that now.

Keep your eyes open. Stay flexible (good advice for slipping on ice now, too, think - fall like a drunk/toddler and now that I see the words drunk/toddler, my use of the back slash is annoying even me - not sure how you, dear reader, put up with it).

We've got this thing.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Thursday, February 18, 2021 - Pisces season rolls in, the Taurus Moon setting up next week's ambitions

The Moon is exalted in Taurus now - we are nurtured through our creature comforts, simplicity, touch, taking our time. She squared Jupiter while we slept (EST), sextiles (opportunity) imaginative Neptune at 2:29PM EST, squares ruler Venus at 6:21PM EST and meets Mars at 7:47PM EST.

She goes void at 2:28AM EST and will be void until 11:04AM EST tomorrow morning when she moves into Gemini, predicting a communicative/busy weekend.

So, emotionally, today looks like a mixed bag.

This is kind of setting up - the Moon in Taurus squaring Venus in Aquarius - tomorrow's Mars (in Taurus) squaring Venus which we talked about in the weekly HERE. The difference today is the Moon is exalted in Taurus (whereas Mars is weak), her square to Venus (relationships, money, women), should be less taxing. We can know our value/our worth here. When the Moon meets Mars tonight, we might feel more driven/productive and then there is that late night trine (brakes off) to powerful Pluto, an excellent way to end this Taurus Moon. Next week, Mars will be the one trining Pluto and we will have Mercury direct and things should feel more forward moving/stable. Tonight's Moon might provide a prequel.

Today is also the day the Sun moves into Pisces. He will be in Pisces until March 20th.

This is the mutable season that carries us from winter (fixed air Aquarius) to spring (fiery initiating Aries). Pisces season enables a more physical involvement in the imaginative/intuitive realms. We can also require more rest - take this seriously. Keep in mind our Pisces natal house (maybe unless it is aspecting our Sun or we have certain Neptune placements) can be pretty well hidden from us. This is the area of life we run on intuition. Common sense/practical action doesn't really work. As the Sun travels through this house in our chart we get some CLARITY on what is going on here and maybe some fiery solar initiative becomes more useful.

Keep in mind, because boundaries can be limiting but also make us less vulnerable - Pisces energy has no boundaries because it transcends reality.

Fantasy, our dreams/imagination, our spirituality, our creativity, healing/recuperation, compassion - this is Pisces territory. And like all signs, Pisces negatives are always only the positives taken to an extreme - where fantasy becomes illusion/lies, recuperation/a need for connection becomes escape/addiction, compassion maybe martyrdom. Also keep in mind, our transiting Sun being boundary-less and all - it might be more easy to catch/absorb what the fellow next to us is putting out there - whether that be a lie, a virus or his/her mood.

Pisces is the last sign and always a good season to be releasing what is draining or fading.

Or over-working us.

Saturn vs Uranus 2021 | the astrology of the battle for the Age of Aquarius - part I - when death creates life, the redistribution of power

The BIG repeating aspect of 2021 is the Saturn/Uranus square as Saturn in Aquarius squares Uranus in Taurus.

The first square in this series of three is today, February 17th. They square again on June 14th with Saturn retrograde and finally on December 24th (Merry Christmas Eve - what did Biden just say about back to normal by Christmas) with Uranus retrograde - so this aspect is in play pretty much all year. And we have been feeling it for awhile.

Saturn and Uranus are the unlikely co-rulers of Aquarius. Father and son in myth, their relationship ended when Saturn (the son) killed Uranus (the father) symbolically bringing order (Saturn) to chaos (Uranus).

In 2021 they battle, again, this time with Saturn in Aquarius - new rules/limits/responsibilities particularly within the collective/the group/with technology/the future, but also new solutions to very old problems. And with Uranus in Taurus - changes with what we own/value, to how we make and use money/our resources, changes with our self-esteem and our physical environment/the planet.

With Saturn/Uranus we could be feeling restricted/antsy. A sudden or unexpected challenge/result could happen now. This could be a consequence of some erratic (don't fence me in) or disorderly/unreliable behavior on our part or someone else's. Or maybe we can see now the hard earned results/culmination of something innovative/future or group focused. Whatever this is, coming through the challenging energy of the square, it feels like tension/frustration/anxiety.

Saturnian aspects are kind of like tests. With Saturn in Aquarius, our responsibilities to the collective are a focus/being tested. As well as authority's restrictions on the collective - a focus AND being tested. With Uranus in Taurus, our hive-mind memories of collective and personal trauma around our values, our security, our resources, our money and self-esteem are being shaken/not stirred.

With a worldwide pandemic and the response/results/restrictions - no need to guess how this is showing up. We are all in this together.

Big picture - Uranus is chaotic (and pre-dates structure/Saturn) and chaos is always about the re-distribution of power. Authority is challenged. And rebelliousness/freedom is limited. With both planets strong here, and Uranus pretty much unpredictable, it's anyone's guess how this will all play out. We are in the final/early stages of the birth of the Age of Aquarius, maybe the birth-canal part - pre-Pluto in Aquarius when the power moves to the people (if we handle this right) - what kind of baby we are birthing is still being determined. I am hoping for one who sleeps through the night, eats her vegetables and doesn't say she hates me when she turns thirteen.

This year's Saturn/Uranus square is the CLOSING square cycle of a longer cycle that started back on February 12, 1988 (ran through 1989) when they met at 28 degrees Sagittarius (conjunct the Galactic Center - homing signal, seat of creation in our Milky Way Galaxy). The cycle closes out (and a new one begins) on June 28, 2032 when they meet again at 27 degrees Gemini - so almost exactly opposing where they started.

We are going to take our time unpacking this in a series of posts, because time we got folks and these Aqua planets have totally zapped my Aquarius stellium energy. This one isn't going anywhere anytime soon. We'll start with this week's chart and then reverse course back to the beginning in 1988.

Does that make sense? Probably not, we might have to zig and zag.

Saturn in Aquarius squaring Uranus in Taurus is unpredictable - there is no way to know how 2021 (and this aspect continues into 2022) is going to play out. As long as we don't expect the future to look like the past (it won't), keep an open mind and open heart - we will be OK. More than OK. We are going to thrive in this new landscape. We were made for these times. Truly. Even though, I know, many of us right now are feeling like we weren't. Me, too. We are really not supposed to know what we are doing right now - the North Node is in Gemini - it is a time of questions. And, yes, I realize this 'not knowing' thing means making decisions and even knowing what is 'true' is a hell of alot harder - yes, that's how it is. And it's nothing more than just that. Just how it is.

For now, the tension/frustration/anxiety is creating a need for change. Pushing us to change something. Expect it will be hard to focus. Hard to feel stable. That's how this time is supposed to feel. Here in the United States the weather is especially cold and wet and sustained - all these Aquarius planets! Some power grids (Uranus rules electricity) are stopped (Saturn). Interesting that Texas has its own power grid to avoid dealing with authority and now it is down. Frozen wind turbines sound pretty Aquarius, too!

We are feeling even more frozen in place. Is this possible? Can an icicle get any icier?

Keep in mind where we are - hexagram 23, Stripping Away - we talked about this HERE

In the I Ching, "returning" (hexagram 24) follows the stripping away.

In winter nothing moves or grows, but there is an aliveness/a holy thunder dwelling quietly at the center of the Earth awaiting the warmer grounds of spring. We are the same as the Earth. In ancient days the kings (and the weather) contained people's impulse to rush out and resume business as usual during these times, so that the energy for growth would not be squandered in the depths of winter. The same is happening to us now.

This is a turning point on our path, a moment of forced stillness to turn inward and listen for little visions and inklings of awareness. To nurture the seeds of our personal sense of direction.

We can't blow it. Don't worry. This 'rising from our sweaty death bed sheets' is both an instantaneous thing and a long slog through the wilderness. Everything that has been shamed, made invisible, silent or insignificant, misunderstood, hidden away and forgotten is coming back from the closet where we (or our ancestors) crammed it and then became too afraid to look at it.

Death being our biggest fear and what needs to be avoided at all costs. Or is it?

And in embracing the parts of ourselves we have made dead (sometimes by pushing them onto someone else) we will shift to a relationship with the new life that arises. We can't not shift. Everyone gets a seat at the table this year. And every part of ourselves gets a seat, too.

Hang in there. We get three shots at this square this year. This will be the easiest one in the sense that it is the gentlest nudge in the new direction (the pebble at our head instead of the rock) and with Mercury set to station direct in a few days AND with some nice aspects next week - something is intended to shake loose.

If nothing changed, nothing would change, right?

Today's Astrology Forecast | Monday, february 15, 2021 - a time for action and initiative, a focus on our partnerships and commitments past and future

We reach the middle of February with the Moon in independent and fiery Aries - nourished by independence, action, initiative, courage, anger, men. We are making opportunistic sextiles with the Aquarius planets - Saturn late last night, a retrograde Mercury at 11:49AM EST, Jupiter at 1:21PM EST and finally Venus at 10:39PM EST.

Action (even on impulse), initiative, courage (even, appropriately explored anger) with our communications, expansion, social activities - are all progressive/create opportunities. Mercury (in Aquarius) is squaring Black Moon Lilith (in Taurus) so pulling in that Aquarius/Taurus square tension/frustration that has been so prevalent this January/February. Mercury is still retrograde, cool and logical in Aquarius even while moving backward and Black Moon Lilith is back in the garden, she was so unceremoniously tossed from so many years ago. Again the old vs the new, the stable/stuck vs the chaotic/liberating future. Here maybe physical needs vs detached, intellectual, over-thinking.

Venus is trining the North Node of Fate. In Aquarius she is attracted to the unusual/the future/thinking with her head. Social activities pull us forward. Group/causes/tech pulls us forward. Women pull us forward. Love and beauty pull us forward. A more liberating kind of love pulls us forward. The future is coming. The future is now. Keep in mind that North Node in Gemini - breaking things into bite-sized pieces, keeping things local, multiple ways forward, communication, our community, siblings/cousins/childhood friends, transportation, technology, writing, learning (as opposed to teaching). Progress is smooth. Something falls into place. Click.

Juno meets the South Node and opposes the North Node. Conjunctions bring results as stories wind up and new stories begin. Our committed relationships/contracts probably need a little more space/versatility. Things that are not what they once were, probably because we aren't, will require revisions/maybe endings. Our beliefs have shifted. What needs to go? Keep in mind Juno is opposing that North Node in Gemini - how does our conversation, within partnerships and committed relationships, need to CHANGE? This is a repeating aspect we will see again in July and August, so whatever this relationship/commitment 'wrap-up' is - and keep in mind Juno's major player story-line throughout 2020 -  it's getting multiple hits.

Weekly Astrology Forecast for Creatives | February 15th - February 21st, 2021 - relationships and money re-inventions/endings/beginnings, the old vs the new, the boys vs the girls, decisions, moving on and moving forward

Let's jump right in and unpack the week!

MONDAY - Venus trines the North Node, Juno conjuncts the South Node

WEDNESDAY - Saturn squares Uranus

THURSDAY - Sun into Pisces

FRIDAY - Venus squares Mars, First Quarter Moon (1 degree Gemini/Pisces)

SATURDAY - Mercury stations direct (11 degrees Aquarius)

SUNDAY - Ceres into Aries

MONDAY - Venus, at 17 degrees Aquarius trines the North Node in Gemini

Venus themes - love, relationships, money, resources, our values/self-esteem - progress smoothly. What we want now/how we attract what we want - is pulling us into future/away from the past. With Venus in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus (so in mutual reception), this is super-charged.

Change can be sudden. Things we didn't used to want, well now we do - and here we go. We could move rapidly into a new way to make money/new values/new love and/or just as rapidly find ourselves needing to step away from something we are no longer able to force ourselves into alignment with/hence liberation and change. Trines are smooth flow, but anything Aquarius can be a little jarring. Aquarius/Gemini are airy/mental signs, so this will be more about logic/facts than some uber emotional thing. And keep in mind, trines are effortless - tune into what you want.

Stay open to the unexpected/unusual.

At the same time, Juno, a HUGE player in 2020 - our primary relationships/marriage/commitments/contracts tested - meets the South Node in Sagittarius. What/who needs to go? What commitments/contracts need to end? What beliefs have we committed to that are keeping us stuck? Time to say bye-bye and cut those cords.

WEDNESDAY - Saturn, at 7 degrees Aquarius squares Uranus in Taurus

This is our BIG three-peating challenge of 2021.

This first square is happening at 7 degrees, so people with planets/points near 7 degrees of the fixed signs - Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius - will feel this first square strongest. Since Jupiter met Saturn back on the winter solstice and the world started up again (I know, I think I missed this 'starting up again' thing, too, but the astro shows it did, so it did) we have been in this kind of push/pull expansion/contraction world. January's expansion/explosions bringing February's contractions/reality checks. We kind of get the whole year in two months and then we spend the rest of the year re-living it/ironing it out.

Jupiter wants to expand the collective/push us into the future. Saturn, strong in Aquarius the sign he co-rules, brings the reality checks/limits. Now, Saturn moves into his exact square with Aqua's other co-ruler Uranus (busy disrupting our money, values, self-esteem for the last couple years). This is a fixed square between chaos/change and stability - the new vs the old. The future vs the past. Your Taurus house theme is changing/won't be fenced in. Your Aquarius house theme is kind of laying down the law. Yes, this all sounds ass-backwards and it is and this is why we all feel so unstable. We'll talk about this in more detail in its own series.

We won't get the final Saturn/Uranus square until December, so this story-line will be in play all year.

Note - these Saturn/Uranus squares of 2021 are the third quarter squares - so the WANING SQUARES - in a Saturn/Uranus cycle birthed when they met each other conjunct the Galactic Center (29 degrees Sagittarius) back in February 1988 and won't wrap up until 2032.

THURSDAY - the Sun leaves Aquarius, the sign of his detriment, and moves into dreamy Pisces

I once knew alot of Pisces people and noticed Pisces are particularly proud of their Sun signs. I have never known a Pisces who would rather be anything else. Maybe it's because they are the last sign, I don't know. But Pisces really seem to like being Pisces. This time of year when the Sun moves into Pisces, we all start burning Pisces fuel, feel a little bit of what it's like to be a Pisces - we get more sensitive, more intuitive, more imaginative/artistic, more spiritual/connected, hopefully more compassionate. Often we need more rest. It's like we all get a taste of a 12th house Sun for a while and need to find ways to rejuvenate

(we are also more likely to have childhood memories pop up to deal with and past life memories, if you resonate with that, any addictions/escapist tendencies can get our attention now, too).

Of course, we still have our natal (and progressed Sun signs) running the show, but we get a little high-octane Pisces magic in our tank, too. The Sun acts kind of like an engine moving us forward and it makes perfect sense that it rules Leo - the sign of our heart (engine).

The sun teaches us that doing what is in our heart and doing what is required of us is actually the same thing.

We get this stuff confused because we think doing what's in our heart will make us happy

That's not always true.

The sun's light may be very bright and feel really good sometimes, but the sun's light burns, too.

Following our heart doesn't guarantee a happy life; it does guarantee an authentic one though. At the end of our days in rocking chairs or hospital beds we will be content with what we have done.

How does Pisces energy work with your Sun sign? Give that one a think.

FRIDAY - Venus, at 23 degrees Aquarius, squares Mars in Taurus and we have the First Quarter Square Moon in Gemini

Venus/Mars is another one of these Aquarius/Taurus squares that are dominating February. Again, the future/the disorder (but also liberation) that comes with change vs stability/security/the rules. Venus has just trined the North Node and she's like 'here is this unusual, for me, thing I want now and the Universe is all on board', and Mars is like, 'I am over here struggling to keep what we have/keep this boat afloat dammit'. Tension. Frustration. We could come across as too pushy or maybe we get too focused on what we want/want to keep. This is what we want vs what we have to do to get what we want being at cross-purposes somehow. The feminine energy and the masculine energy not playing so well in the sandbox.

At the same time, the Moon is moving through versatile/multi-tasking/communicative Gemini now and moves into a fast square with that new Pisces Sun. Here is our first challenge after last week's New Moon in Aquarius, designed to bring CLARITY through learning and intuition. Gemini/Pisces. Fast thinking/give me the facts Gemini is annoyed by Pisces sensitivity/dreaminess. Sensitive/other-worldy Pisces is annoyed by Gemini's objectivication. These are both ambiguous/versatile signs, so can't ignore each other. Gemini naturally wants to categorize and break things down and Pisces naturally wants to absorb/connect. Squares are tension/frustration/challenges.

The bottom line here is THE NEED TO CHOOSE. The reality/the future is calling. We can't keep dreaming our life away. Can we? What we decide now will have alot to say with what transpires at this year's Full Moon in Virgo on February 27th. This is the facts/our smarts vs our dreams/intuition - as always, we get to choose. Just keep in mind, Gemini is the sign of the North Node (our best path forward) this year, so we probably want to be integrating the powerful Pisces WITHOUT losing ourselves in any kind of lalaland. Also, keep in mind, this is all happening at 1 degree, so will have a ways to go, whatever we decide.

SATURDAY - Mercury stations direct at 11 degrees Aquarius. YAY! We now begin one final pass over 11- 26 degrees Aquarius before we start covering completely new ground in March. Whatever slowed down or got delayed around the end of January is MOVING FORWARD. Here we go! This can super-charge our New Moon agenda big time.

SUNDAY - Ceres, after months and month and months in Pisces, following directly on the heels of Mercury with her retrograde (and keep in mind Ceres and Mercury were two of the players in that Saturn/Pluto 'time runs out' back in January 2020 and have been running a tag team through Pisces, the sign of viruses for the last year) finally gets into Aries. When I was looking ahead from last summer for some 'weakening' scenarios to the virus, this 'Ceres exits Pisces' thing was one of the things I thought we should be looking for. Well, here she goes. Fingers crossed. Good news, even though we now have the Sun in Pisces kind of shining a light on the virus. Maybe this is good since viruses don't do so well in the light.

The ramifications/our response/the restrictions - with Saturn, the sign of authority/limits in Aquarius, the sign of the people and also the sign of technology - isn't going away anytime soon, I would suspect. Although with Ceres (nurturing) out of limitless Pisces and into 'let go of the baby's hand or he'll never learn to walk' Aries - a need for independence/initiative, some of that should lessen, too.

Now, that the Sun is out of Aquarius, with Venus and then Mercury soon to follow (breaking up the fixed squares), some of these January/February stresses will start to ease.

Next week we have some helpful trines and sextiles and collectively March looks way easier (keeping in mind I can't see your personal chart

than January's explosions and February's retractions - which I wrote about back in December and amazingly have played out precisely this way in the collective and probably in our personal lives, too. Astrology is amazing stuff, although we always have to keep in mind we are looking at it through our own eyes, with our own biases, etc.

Hang in there everyone, spring will be here ... eventually.

xo all

Note - Trump's impeachment trial - started on a Void Moon, as we talked about in an earlier post - didn't amount to anything. With Mercury retrograde in Aqua though, somehow the re-look process still needed to be done, but this week we are MOVING ON from that, too!

Today's Astrology Forecast | Friday, February 12, 2021 - taking practical action, giving our brain a rest, appreciating our imagination and intuition, getting comfortable with change

The Moon moved into dreamy Pisces while we slept.

We are nurtured through our imagination now. Through illusion/delusion/spirituality/escape/rest. After the overload of yesterday's Aquarius New Moon, we need this more connecting and emotional energy now. Pray. Meditate. Make art/music. She will sextile (opportunity) change-maker Uranus (co-ruler of Aquarius and in Taurus, so favoring finances/resources/self-esteem) at 3:31PM EST. Sounds about right as we begin the Chinese Year of the Metal Ox.

Moon/Uranus can make us more comfortable with change/unusual situations and people. Pay attention to your intuition today. Fleeting sparks of genius can seep in/penetrate. Hang with smart people and you get smarter. This is also good energy, particularly in the wake of yesterday's potent New Moon, for breaking out - do something different or differently - of negative habits, passivity, tiredness, even grief.

Mars (at 19 degrees Taurus) trines Vesta in Virgo - part of our New Moon story.

Good for taking practical action. Vesta is retrograde, so this could be about returning (maybe not quite to the drawing board) with something we once cared about/that once kept us up at night. One more action. Maybe one more fix. Trines are the best aspect in astrology and earth trines the most solid of all, things fall right into place. We won't have to push to make this happen, but just take some common-sense next step to clean something up/correct it/make it BETTER. Taurus can pull our money, resources, self-esteem into the mix. How can a focus here improve our situation. Neptune is opposing Vesta and the Moon has moved into dreamy Pisces, kind of diluting our focus/ambition, but if we can stay on task here and use the Neptune to dissolve what needs to be released, one solid thing can lead to another to another.

the New Moon in Aquarius | February 11, 2021 - stripping away, seeding the new and dealing with the forces that threaten to sabotage the new, fortuitous outcomes by summer, starting by looking backward

On February 11, 2021 at 2:05PM EST, the Aquarius Moon meets the Aquarius Sun giving us this month's New Moon; our annual New Moon in Aquarius.

This one is flavored by a stellium in Aquarius, so MEGA Aqua energy!

This is our fourth(!) New Moon at 23 degrees, all interacting with Eris at 23 degrees Aries. Aries and Aqua are buddies, so this month we get the opportunistic sextile. We have pondered the significance of the '23' itself in previous posts and it's probably no coincidence we get all these 23 fresh starts following the year the number 22 was pretty much wiped off the map!

At the Chinese New Year it seems appropriate to  think about the I Ching - hexagram 23 is named 'stripping away'. The dead and dying stripped back to reveal the living energy at the core. The more of us we have invested in this old dying world/self/situation, the more painful this process is. It's kind of pointless to have a direction to go when we get to Hexagram 23 since it is a time to be transformed, not a time to act. Until we have shed these old energies/situations we would only be creating the same old patterns. Life is making sure that doesn't happen.

Stripping away follows 'beauty'

(which is Hexagram 22, interesting isn't it that beauty's dark side is narcissism and also the kind of emphasis on a narrow definition of success that blinds us to the harm we can do),

so beauty/success, by the time we get to 23, has actually been exhausted and this is why 'stripping away' must follow.

In the last couple years many of our external supports/motivations have been taken away/outgrown/exhausted and rather than embark on an anxious search for new support, maybe this Aqua sandblasting is a time to honor our autonomy, our principals, what we know now - the 'stripping away' leaving us more centered and less vulnerable (although it can feel like the exact opposite is happening).

We are kind of like a newly sheared poodle hiding under the bed forgetting this is what a poodle actually looks like without all the pink bows and fluff!

Now this 'stripping away' is something to be considered, if you would like to consider it, when we ponder the significance of all these 23 degree New Moons (we have one more after this month) - this stripping away is a very BIG process that won't be rushed.

This New Moon in particular looks like a powerful and focused fresh start, not without its challenges, but nothing good ever is - being seeded over the next couple weeks and growing into its fullness by next summer's Full Moon in Aquarius - and this year, because of course, celestial magic being well, magical, but also perfectly mathematical, in a year with Aqua's ruling planets battling it out - we actually GET TWO OF THESE (Full Moons in Aquarius, I mean, next summer).

I've tossed in some newish aspected asteroids and our regular cast of characters.

Let's unpack the chart!

The Moon and Sun are at 23 degrees Aquarius. They are sextiling Eris EXACT, squaring Mars, semi-sextile Pluto, sextile Astraea, they are conjunct an EXACT Pallas/Hekate conjunction. Aquarius has an ancient ruler - Saturn - and a modern ruler - Uranus. Saturn is squaring Uranus (and Circe). Saturn is also opposing Hygeia (one of our tested significators for the virus) and sextiling Chiron. Uranus is conjunct Circe and Lith, squaring Saturn and inconjunct Chiron. We also have Venus and Jupiter EXACTLY conjunct in Aquarius - that packs a powerful and beneficial PUNCH. And Vesta and Neptune EXACTLY opposing each other.

The Moon and Sun are sextiling Eris. An opportunity to be ourselves or opportunity coming through authenticity. Conjunct smart Pallas and wise/crone Hekate whatever seeds we are planting now have the added bonus of wisdom, the ability to mediate/strategize - go to war without actually spilling any blood - and lean into the future (Pallas). Hekate, again speaks of an outsider energy - that fringe dweller crone. She is about a time of transition/those forks in the road and although having her here can’t help us see how it will all turn out, she does help us put away the old/the things that don’t belong with us anymore (not much room in her tiny house in the woods I would imagine). She often shows up when we don't know where we are going and helps us to not fixate so much on the not knowing/the changes. Having seen it all (kind of like the number 23), she helps us onto the right path - not the easiest/smoothest path necessarily - and helps us attract the right people. Hekate's niece Circe - more, kind of 'loner' Goddess magic, is conjunct change-maker Uranus. Famous for her island oasis, transforming men into pigs and beguiling Odysseus, Circe's story, like Hekate's, is much bigger and more powerful than this. Again, this speaks of transformation and, keep in mind, with astrology we are always looking for repeating aspects/patterns/archetypes.

Hekate and Pallas are EXACTLY sextiling Astraea - we talked about her before and her promise to return to usher in a new Golden Age. She is in Sag now, conjunct Juno and the South Node. Said to sometimes speak of a tendency to 'stay too long' she could be helping us let go of relationships/contracts/beliefs that are no longer good for us.

The rulers of Aquarius - Uranus and Saturn - are applying to next weeks' exact square. The first of three in 2021. The new vs the old. Freedom vs limits/rules. The redistribution of power that is the 2020's and can only come through chaos. We are going to talk about this in a series of posts, but as it applies to the New Moon, we can see there is tension/struggle here, even within ourselves. Saturn is also sextile Chiron - this is our BEST repeating aspect of 2021 and will be a three-peat. Having this in play during this potent New Moon is powerful. Saturn - the limits/responsibilities - maybe especially within group settings can heal these deep soul woundings around our ability to take care of ourselves/be ourselves.

Venus (and keep in mind the Taurus planets are answering to her) is conjunct Jupiter. Both our beneficial energies EXACTLY TOGETHER at this important New Moon -  this speaks of fortuitous outcomes with what we are starting now. This is in Aquarius where things come suddenly AND over the long haul.

Vesta, our sacred focus/what keeps us up at night, is opposite Neptune. This is kind of repeating the Taurus squares in the sense that it can be draining our focus/motivation. It's hard to focus on this practical Virgo day-to-day stuff/our health/our work as we need to with this exhausting/escapist/illusive Neptune opposition. This also shows the importance of staying grounded. The best way to use this energy, and this is also a repeating aspect, is to dissolve a fixation on something that can't be fixed. The Neptune answer is pretty much always - let go and let God. Neptune square the Nodes can see us being played like a fiddle if we aren't grounded in something real. Illusions should have dimmed/become less potent over the last couple weeks.

Mercury is retrograde in Aquarius. He/she is doing everything the Moon and Sun are doing, but he is doing it backward (and in high heels). He is sextiling Juno and the South Node and trining the North Node. AND he is bridging the Sun/Moon and the goodies of Venus/Jupiter. His backwards thing is VERY IMPORTANT. For us, for our relationships/contracts, for what we are starting, for what we are ending. The re-dos, re-looks, re-visions, re-thinks are important and we dismiss this stuff at our detriment later.

To bottom line this one -

your Aqua house is mega-loaded at the time of a new beginning in AQUARIUS. It can feel overwhelming .. because it is.

Collectively this is about our future, our groups, our highest thinking, our causes, technology/science, innovation, the collective itself. With the rulers of Aquarius squaring each other now - there is tension/frustration built into whatever is starting. Limits create focus and focus erases limits. Creativity needs limits. If I said to you "make something" (and I probably wouldn't because that sounds kind of rude), you'd be all over the place. But if I said to you, "make something out of a Cheerios box", you'd come up with something amazing (yes, amazing, I have total faith in you). The world is like this now. We don't have everything. There is alot we don't/can't have, but we've got that freakin' Cheerios box. With Vesta opposite Neptune we need to know what matters to us and need to apply our focus to this practical/healthy/day-to-day stuff. We need to be grounded.

With Venus conjunct Jupiter there is the STRONG possibility of a positive outcome if we work the process of this chart.

The New Moon energy is strongest over the next two weeks - this is when you want to be seeding whatever you are starting. Set your intentions. Verbally. Write them down. The energy we set into motion now will grow over the next six months until we reach the Full Moon in Aquarius AND we get two of them this year, so double the opportunities to reach some kind of peak/result with this. But Aquarius is less predictable, being co-ruled by Uranus, than almost any other energy. Nothing is guaranteed. And the good part of this 'not guaranteed' thing is, it pushes us to be putting our time and energy and resources into stuff we would want to do even if it doesn't 'succeed' - that's how we get to some kind of authenticity. Every one of us becoming a little more authentic and that's how we, collectively, become a lot more authentic.

NEW MOON INTENTIONS

As we work with the Aquarius positives - innovation, genius, advancement, the new/modern, the power of groups, the power of the individual (yes Aquarius has both!) and eliminate the Aquarius negatives -  too much detachment, too many distractions, our feelings of alienation and our need to get lost in the crowd and hide out in the audience - if we do our work - and we are not required to do our work perfectly - we are left with a cool head, an open mind and enough emotional distance from whatever we are creating to allow the magical forces in play to work for and through us RIGHT NOW!

AFFIRMATION TIPS for your monthly New Moon:  always make affirmations from a  positive place (positive meaning both happy and certain) - write your affirmations down by hand in script, speak them out loud.

Then release your attention from these things knowing that your intention is known.

Know these things are already yours.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Wednesday, February 10, 2021 - trusting the hold up, the re-visions, the re-thinking, the looks backward, check yourself before you wreck yourself

The Moon moves through packed Aquarius now. We haven't seen this many planetary bodies in Aquarius since 1962. She meets Saturn at 7:41AM EST, squares Uranus at 8:41AM EST, meets Venus at 5:10PM EST and meets Jupiter at 6:28PM EST.  Wow!!

This is the day Mercury is going to trine the North Node then square Mars. Mercury is retrograde and the North Node is our best path forward, so we can see the re-vision, re-view, re-think (even delay/stoplight) we are having is a needed part of the process. She/he will be back here in March direct and by then we will know what we are doing because we will be doing it.

The tricky part is Mercury's square (tension, frustration) with Mars. We talked about this yesterday and in the weekly HERE

"Here is an old argument/obstacle/tension. This is a repeating aspect from January 8th. We might have to fight for what we think/have/need. Mars is in Taurus, busy trying to hold onto what he (as we) has - working toward stability. Our actions are geared toward our sustenance/survival/slow and steady growth/what is comforting. Maybe Mercury is coming in with these far-out ideas ahead of her time and Mars is like, hold on a minute - do we have the existing resources/self-esteem for this? What would I have to change? This is a fixed square, so no one wants to budge. With Mercury in Aquarius this can also be a surprising realization/news that upsets our hard-earned stability."

Maybe we don't have enough information/or the right thinking about something to proceed. We know from the trine these delays/looks backward are necessary, so there is no point beating our head against the wall over that part of it. If we are feeling antsy/impulsive we can give Mars in Taurus something to do - he (as we) is very useful here/can do the sustaining thing. With all this airy Aquarius, we are lucky to have our hands in the dirt - or mud as it might be. Keep in mind the North Node is in Gemini (answering to that retrograde Mercury) - it's a time to talk, ask questions, look around, yes ... again. Mercury will be direct on February 20th and then we'll be moving forward and by mid-March covering new ground.

The fact that this major stellium in Aqua is happening while she is retrograde tells us this retrograde/backward thinking is VERY IMPORTANT. We can't move forward without it. We won't line up with what we need to line up with. Check facts. Ask questions. Know words can be challenging. We might feel pushed or pushy.

The first of 2021's Saturn/Uranus squares is happening next week. Aquarius/Taurus, just like today's Mercury/Mars. When Saturn gets added to the mix (and he's already in here) we get results/reality checks - so the results of any rebelliousness/disorder, Aquarius detachment. Or maybe he brings us the results of our innovative thinking/elbow grease/group goals - this can be the "futury-thing" this week's challenges are building if we work things well. Do robots have muscles? Maybe they do.

For today, maybe some old information/person from the past/need to re-think, SOMETHING, seems to be holding us up. Trust the hold up. Keep a cool head because Mars in Taurus is frustrated enough.

The Moon is dark/balsamic. Get enough rest. All these energies squaring Mars (our action, passion, initiative) can make us less motivated. We'll rehash all this more thoroughly in the New Moon post tonight.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Tuesday, February 9th, 2021 - get it done early, a healing opportunity if we are willing to address the wound, starting to get antsy

The Moon continues her travels through Capricorn now - nurtured through taking things seriously, older people, having beans in the cupboard and dollars in the bank.

She sextiled Neptune at 1:54AM EST and then goes void off a meet up with Pluto at 12:21PM EST. What a relief for the Moon not to have that Cappy pile-up to deal with when she is in her detriment anymore! This day is good for business, taking care of responsibilities, dealing with authority/stepping into our own. The Moon is balsamic now, dark, winding things down. What do you need to finish? Get off your desk/plate/mind? The Moon will be void until 8:20PM EST when she moves into Aquarius in preparation for this week's New Moon.

This week is all about Mercury retrograde - what we are re-doing, re-vising, re-imagining, re-thinking. The past is alive. The impeachment trial begins today in the United States - during the Void Moon! But we have the sextile of Saturn (in Aquarius) and Chiron (in Aries) - active all week/exact today - a healing opportunity if we are willing to address the wound. And that is what we are doing, although legislators may think they are doing something else.

We are moving toward tomorrow's exact (in play now, and Mars often feels more potent as he is applying than exact) - Mercury/Mars square as Mercury backs into 17 degrees Aquarius and squares Mars at 17 degrees Taurus. News/information.conversations/decisions challenge us. This likely has its roots in the past. We could be triggered/pissed off. Antsy/agitated. Or other people will be, so keep a cool head. Drive safely. Be aware of your words/actions in group situations. We might feel pushed or pushy. Maybe pushed to do something. We can probably expect we will have to put more energy into what we want or we might decide through the square, it's not really worth doing/thinking anymore. With Mercury retrograde we are working the process.  See the weekly HERE for more on the square.

March and April look easier collectively and keep in mind alot of what is happening in January and February will impact most of the year. The January explosions creating the need for February retractions.

For today, get important stuff done early before that Void Moon and save Void Moon time for the routine matters you do all the time, or things you would like "nothing to come of".

The Moon in Cappy can feel depressing for some people (others get more goal-oriented/ambitious and who is who depends on other factors sometimes out of our control), it's dark now and needs rest - we do, too - and with so much in Aquarius, answering to Saturn and opposing the sunnier days of Leo - make some time for fun (and sun - those Vitamin D chewables aren't quite the same thing, are they?). I have been making these livingroom Escape Rooms (which are these kind of stressful puzzles, but since I am making them and not solving them, no stress for me - ack). Do what you have to do to step away from any heaviness when you can. We will get through this guys. Together and alone. It's written in the stars. Truly.

BIG New Moon post next and then a Big Picture (chaos redistributes power, first Uranus/Saturn square next week).
