the astrology of Gamestop, the Titans of Wall Street, Robinhood & A Roaring Kitty | Uranus vs Saturn 2021 - an opening bell

Let's talk a little background first.

GameStop is a video game retail store (formerly Babbages) founded in Dallas, Texas in 1984 by two Harvard Business School classmates. The company went public on February 12, 2002. There is, or was, a Gamestop store in most malls in the United States (usually located near the food court where the hungry teens hang out). If you've been to the mall, you've probably been in one. They sell Playstation Games, Xbox, etc and buy and sell their customer's old games. They bill themselves as the world's largest gaming destination. They probably are.

Their tagline (which became especially appropriate in late January 2021) is POWER TO THE PLAYERS.

Move ahead to 2021 and the gaming giant isn't doing so well. Brick and mortars in general are in trouble and especially in-line mall stores. The game makers have figured out a way to cut out the middle man and people can just download this stuff now. And, of course, the pandemic is keeping everyone home and shopping online. GameStop is moving toward bankruptcy.

Smelling blood in the water, the Wall Street sharks are circling.

The hedge funders short GameStop's stock (basically bet money that GameStop will fail thus insuring that GameStop will fail) expecting to make an easy buck on the video game retailer's decline. Redditers on /r/wallstreetbets - probably many of whom grew up in this store - create a whole meme culture online intent on buying up the stock to drive the price up. Over the past few weeks, its value has gone from single digits to three digits and climbing.

The hedgefund managers, who manipulated the market in the first place, have lost billions of dollars and stand to lose billions more. The small time investors who bet their life-savings are walking away with life-changing money, although some are sitting tight for now.

Millennials (feels like Uranus here) have crowdsourced the biggest short squeeze in history (?) and the Wall Street Boomers (Saturn) are getting massacred. But, Saturn being Saturn he can never be counted out and soon the small buyer investment app, Robinhood (I am not kidding you - speaking of taking from the rich to give to the poor), shuts down the Redditers ability to trade Gamestop. So, we have triple market manipulation - the hedge funders first - in the old school way, that keeps the uber rich uber rich, the Redditers second in a move designed for bottom up revolution, and the Robinhooders third, fearing for their company's/the market's stability (claims CEO?), but probably just way out of their depth with this thing, when they shut down the trading.

As I write this, trading is back on - the shutdown/manipulations slammed by mixed political voices from AOC to Mark Cuban to Tucker Carlson (here's something to bring us all together) while the media, CNBC anchors in particular, continue shilling for the hedge funders!

This is, no doubt, one of the opening rounds of 2021's epic battle for the control of the Age of Aquarius as Aqua's co-rulers battle it out through multiple squares. Saturn, the father/old school, hierarchical "rich guys finish first" Wall Street energy vs Uranus the new/internet/chaotic/disruptive change "eat the rich" that threaten their rigged system by any means possible.

American Revolution part II (with Pluto moving toward his natal U.S. position in 2022-2024).

Let's unpack the chart!

Look at all that Aquarius in GameStop's natal chart! They went public on a New Moon in Aquarius conjunct Uranus. How perfect is that for a futuristic gaming company?!

The outer wheel shows their transits during this chaos which remember is all happening in the run-up/during the Leo Full Moon! And, oh yes, I forgot to mention the Reddit user that started this all is named ROARING KITTY (Leo being the sign of the Lion, so, of course, what else would his name be).

So, we've got Roaring Kitty, Power to the People, Robinhood and GameStop (stopping Wall Street's game) - the power of words on full display for anyone paying attention. And the power of Mercury, ruler of words and the trickster energy that rules GameStop's chart!

During the Full Moon, post HERE, the Sun AND Jupiter were EXACTLY on GameStop's natal Neptune. The Moon, opposed. Illusion, deception. No rules. No boundaries. And that Neptune rules their natal 11th house - the goals that bring people into connection/the internet/groups/crowd-funding with transiting wounded healer Chiron moving through their 11th house. Transiting Mercury, GameStop's ruling planet, is conjunct their natal Sun/Uranus conjunction - on their MC, making something very BIG and very UNEXPECTED and very AQUARIAN, very PUBLIC while transiting Neptune moves through their 10th house. AND the transiting Venus/Pluto (money, power) conjunction we talked about in the Full Moon post is conjunct their natal chart ruling Mercury. AND they are having a nodal return in their first house in Gemini, so again answering to their tricky chart-ruling Mercury. And, keep in mind, Saturn is in Gemini in their natal, so all their Cappy, Aqua planets (ruled by Saturn) are answering to Mercury, too.

Mercury rules video games, it's official. There I've said it.

So, what does all this mean?

Are the hedge funders going down over time as small investors take them down or as authority is forced to police their short-selling greedy manipulations? Will crowd-sourcing wallstreetbets be run out of town/over-regulated by the big boys? Is the stock market in big trouble? Will video game retailer GameStop survive?

Whose game will be stopped?

Uranus vs Saturn 2021. This, and much more like this, can be anticipated as the New Gods and the Old Gods battle it out for the soul of Aquarius. Stay tuned.

the astrology of the Full Moon in Leo | January 28, 2021 - dancing like everyone is watching

On January 28, 2021 at 2:16PM EST the LEO Moon will oppose the Aquarius Sun, giving us this month's Full Moon - our annual Full Moon in Leo.

Full Moon are oppositions. They bring things, already in play, to a culmination, a conclusion/result or into the light.

Leo represents me/ego, the king, the space we are meant to shine, generosity and fun and romance and children and creativity. The shadow of the Leo archetype is a kind of arrogance or greed or self-importance, but what you will find with most Leos is that they have a presence - they impress us. Sometimes it's hard for other people to relate to Leo as "one of us". There is dignity here. Leo rules the space we are meant to shine through self expression, so yes, the energy needs a lot of attention and needs to feel special. And because there is a need to leave a legacy here, things can get overblown. Leo has trouble with 'humble' (hence this energy leads us to the next sign - the 'humble' Virgo). Leo is ruled by the Sun and MUST shine (the Pluto in Leo generation isn't called the 'Me Generation', for nothing'). It is attached and emotionally reactive.

Aquarius energy (where is Sun is now and opposing the Leo Moon) is the opposite side of the same coin. It's the energy of "we/the group". It is detached (this doesn't mean unaware or uninvolved) and emotionally non-reactive - note I mean the energy and not Aquarius people, no one is just one thing! It doesn't need to feel special because it already knows it is special. It knows everyone is special (which kind of means no one is special, so you see where Aquarius energy is headed). Co-ruled by Uranus, Aquarius is the sign of the genius, the rebel, the criminal. The Aquarius space in our chart is where things will work best by being 'outside the box'. It is unpredictable. Aquarius doesn't do humble either. It's hard for other people to relate to Aquarius as "one of us", too.

The first thing we see with this chart is this massive Fixed T-Square! Oh mama!

Let's unpack the chart!

The Moon and Sun are opposing at 9 degrees - Leo/Aquarius. the ruler of this lunation (ruler of Leo) is the Sun. The Sun is also EXACTLY conjunct Jupiter (!), squaring Uranus, Mars, Black Moon Lilith and asteroid Albion (in Taurus) and sextiling Chiron in Aries. The Moon is EXACTLY opposing Jupiter, also squaring the Taurus planets, trining Chiron, EXACTLY conjunct Asteroid Hygiea (one of our significators/stand-ins for the virus) and trining Juno (in Sagittarius). Venus is EXACTLY conjunct Pluto. Ceres is conjunct Neptune (separating) and Ceres/Neptune are squaring the Nodes (also separating). Ultimately there is ALOT of energy answering to Saturn, strong at 4 degrees Aquarius.

Whew- there is alot going on! Where to start?!

Since this is the Moon's show, let's start here. We talked about her opposition to the Aquarius Sun. She is also opposing Jupiter. Jupiterian aspects are mostly a good thing, but the opposition can make something too much. Maybe we are feeling a push to make a bigger/faster  move than is wise. With the Moon in more-is-more Leo anyway, this "too-much" thing, could really be too-much. Situations could get overly-emotional, overly dramatic.

Our feelings could be out of proportion to what is actually happening, and sometimes during detached Aquarius season this can be a good thing, but maybe not, so keep this in mind.

At the same time, the Sun - and remember this isn't just any old Full Moon's Sun, the Leo Full Moon is the only Full Moon that is RULED BY THE SUN - is conjunct Jupiter. That "luckiest day of the year thing" you sometimes hear astrologers speak of, and happening at the Full Moon really gives this some staying power! Of course, it complicates things, too, because we don't get this 'luckiest day of the year' as a stand-alone thing. It comes with all this baggage. And we know this - just look at the world, our community, our home, our heart! Jupiter is luck, expansion, hope/optimism/faith, that stretch outside our comfort zone. Conjunct the Sun speaks of something BIG. No BIGGER. No, maybe even BIGGER.

This is a very POWERFUL reminder that with all this detached/scientific/future-focused Aquarius, we can't lose sight of our own heart. The way we personally shine. The center stage that sits empty when we don't fill it. Whenever we are having trouble in our life/feeling small (yes, I sound like a Simon and Garfunkel greatest hit here) - we can ALWAYS go to our Sun for warmth/love. What sign is your Sun in? What is that energy all about? What house does the Sun rule in your natal chart (your natal Leo house)? What is the theme of that house? This stuff is all powered up now.

The Sun and Moon are both squaring Lilith, Mars and Uranus in Taurus. This stuff is in various states of applying and separating. Basically our Taurus house theme is bringing the tension/frustration. This can bring sudden breakthroughs/breakdowns/break-ups. With the Moon in 'center-stage' Leo - maybe sudden ATTENTION. We just don't want to be too impulsive/erratic/angry here and undermine ourselves somehow. Get attention for the wrong thing! Keep in mind this is all fixed energy, so everyone is all dug into their positions and not wanting to budge. T-Squares are mega-powerful and no joke.

Sandwiched between Mars and Uranus is Asteroid Albion. Albion is an ancient Greek name for the Island of Britain (maybe even the first name of Britain). In myth, Albion was a son of Poseidon, in some tellings he was identified as 'Aquarius' - son of Poseidon and the Goddess Brittania - which would have made him a full God, so even more powerful. He was on the Aries point at discovery in 1992 and I remember seeing him in prominent places when I was looking at the Spanish Flu/Black Plaque and our current corona virus. He can catalyze major cultural changes and is a connector/bridge-builder (think technology here, but also the way things like viruses move from one person to another). Joined by Uranus, Mars and BML at the point of the T-Square we can be assured of sudden and unexpected shifts! And we can see this in the world. This is what is happening.

We can think of an opposition as opposing energies (because it is) and then the point of the T-Square - see the red lines in the Full Moon chart above - is a way of connecting those opposing energies. But because this connection comes through the creation of multiple squares - the Sun to these Taurus planets and the Moon to these Taurus planets - the connection comes through tension/frustration/challenges BUT it is still the CONNECTION!

The open leg of this thing in this particular chart - drawn up for the United States is that 5th house - Leo's natural house. Our heart, love, fun, joy, romance, recreation, children, creativity. The missing leg is WHAT IS MISSING. We need to find ways to bring more of this into our lives here. Also Scorpio which rules intensity, depth, sex, big money, merging/purging, life and death.

The Moon is trining Chiron (the Sun is sextiling), so something healing here. Our vulnerabilities/old woundings will not be a bad thing. They are helping us now. That Sun/that Leo energy. Get outdoors. Play with children. Make love. Make ANYTHING. Do something you love to do or plan for it. The Moon is conjunct Hygiea so a reminder to pay attention to our hygiene/our daily practices that keep us healthy. The virus is on our minds/driving our passions, but this is not all about hand-washing, This can be about getting our hair done or getting dressed. Remember this is royal Leo. When I say get dressed, I mean get DRESSED.

If we have been neglecting this kind of self-care, we will benefit from paying attention to this now.

The Moon is also trining Juno - the best aspect in astrology - in Sagittarius. Growth/expansion through our relationships. Our beliefs connecting us. Optimism. Faith. Our relationships have been sorely tested and it's nice to see a positive aspect at this powerful Full Moon!

Venus is conjunct Pluto at 25 degrees Capricorn. This gets a little darker. More intense. But also powers up (since Pluto rules Scorpio) that empty Scorpio house - the missing leg. Obsessions/control issues/jealousy. We could be attracted to someone/something for its deep pockets/mystery. Something - a person/situation/idea - can grab hold of us and (fingers snap) we are hooked. Note - this is a fast transit and these attractions can end just as quickly unless you have something in your natal to support this. Maybe happening on the Leo Full Moon this is about 'being seen' and 'risking rejection'. This aspect now also speaks of our deep NEED FOR LOVE/intense connection.

We need to be a little careful here, because happening at the Full Moon amplifies any obsessive feelings - I must have this or I will die! - and speaks of trouble if we move too impulsively.

Bottom line for us collectively - this Full Moon is about our creativity/our natural spotlight, our passions, love, children, recreation and balancing this with our friendships, the needs of the group, tech, the future (the Leo/Aqua opposition). The healing (and opportunity) comes through being ourselves, taking care of ourselves. We can get attention/love/fun from what we do now.

We just don't want to be too impulsive/passionate/angry in a way that might cost us too much - resources/self-esteem/money/security (those Taurus squares). We want to use these tensions/frustrations as a bridge. Our career/professional life is pulled into the mix with a significant result AND new start. Illusions should be fading now as we reach for land/more solid ground. Just note - we don't want our compulsions/desperation driving this train, so, let's stay in our HIGH heart. And our head.

Happiness will come when we BALANCE detachment (from an outcome) and passion (for a process),

when we balance the outsider and insider perspectives,

as we move from unique idea to passionate creation and from passionate creation to smart thinking,

from the audience to the stage and from the stage to the audience,

when we balance the group's impact/influence and what we are proud to have personally created,

as we move from trauma, chaos and PTSD toward influence, effectiveness and leadership.

This is a process and we are all in this together, but we are not just one giant lump. We are together and we are alone. This is how it has always been, but now we have physically manifested this, so we can SEE IT most clearly before we move forward.

For today, imagine someone is watching everything you are doing.

You have an audience.

How would you do today differently? How would you look, dress, sit, move. What would you say? What would you do? Start with that.

And don't forget to get outside and walk in this Moon - even if you can't see her, she is there. Excuse any typos, having internet trouble here and just want to press PUBLISH before I lose it again!

Today's astrology Forecast | Wednesday, January 27th, 2021 - discomfort, a void moon, releasing our need to fix something or maybe just the right fix (trying it again) is needed - you choose

The Moon continues her journey through home and family focused Cancer. She trined Neptune at 1:57AM EST, opposes Venus at 10:36AM EST and goes void off an opposition to Pluto at 12:55PM EST. She will be void until 9:54PM EST when she moves into Leo and we start to build toward tomorrow's BIG Full Moon.

The oppositions to Venus and Pluto won't feel so good to our sensitive Moon. Uncomfortable tension/frustration with harsh realities, authority, limits, rules, power, what it seems we can't have - are possible. This might also show up as a home/family vs work/career situation.

At the same time, Vesta, at 21 degrees Virgo, moves into an opposition with Ceres, at 21 degrees Pisces.

Vesta in Virgo is very focused on healing/fixing/making something better or, dare we say, perfect. She is retrograde, so this probably won't be our first go-round with this. Ceres is Pisces is either about unlimited mothering/nurturing/sacrificing or the release of something we once nurtured because the seasons of life are changing.

This opposition might speak of an ending/loss we are fighting via a sort of "let's just try one more fix over here" attention to details. Or, on the other hand, and we always get two for just this reason it seems - our attentive care/focus is challenged by the "enough is never enough" endless need of something/someone/some situation. Virgo/Pisces is also the real vs the unreal. The actual nuts and bolts of the situation vs our need to transcend those nuts and bolts.

So, it could be our extreme attention to what needs fixing needs to be pulled back a little bit, so whatever desires to be released/dissolved can be, this stuff is out of our control anyway OR maybe we need to put some extreme attention/care on something that is fading away/escaping .... pull someone/something/some situation back into reality, ie the land of the nuts and bolts.

See if anything here is helpful.

xo all - back tonight with tomorrow's BIG Full Moon post!

This is making me think of my 91 year old aunt. She is in the hospital - having fought off pneumonia and covid only, it seems, to be succumbing to a massive urinary tract infection a month later. Not eating/fading/preparing to move into another phase of life vs the extreme care being taken to keep her here. She's ready, but her family isn't. She's ready, but the established protocols need to be played out/run through. She's ready, but she isn't ..... life is so precious. So simple. So complicated.

Weekly Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of January 25 - January 31, 2021 - a powerful time, turning toward the facts, needing variety, prioritizing health, work and service, fiery drama, obsessions, do you feel lucky?

MONDAY - Sun sextile Chiron, Venus trine Vesta

TUESDAY - Sun square Uranus, Neptune square North Node

THURSDAY - Full Moon in Leo, Venus conjunct Pluto, Sun conjunct Jupiter

SATURDAY - Mercury stations retrograde

Let's jump right into it!

MONDAY - the Sun (at 5 degrees Aquarius) sextiles Chiron at 5 degrees Aries - an opportunity for healing. Planets are sextile when they are separated by 60 degrees. The signs progress like a spiral from male to female to male to female. So signs that are 60 degrees apart are the same ying or yang, male or female. In this case, Aqua/Aries are both masculine/yang. So we know the opportunity is active (as opposed to responsive ie feminine/ying opportunities). This is the energy of the group working well with the energy of the individual.

Keep in mind we have to take some action/do something to access this.

Changes that "re-invent who we are", particularly in a public way, can be HEALING. Stepping back from a situation to give it more space/distance or dealing with it on a more intellectual level - and realizing we are not alone in this, can be HEALING.

(this is one of the final aspects from that Cappy New Moon we talked about HERE. So, we have completed the mini-journey our last Mew Moon spoke of - from Capricorn to Aquarius - if we have walked these steps, and we have, there is an opportunity to heal a very old/deep familial wounding around our ability to take care of ourselves/our ability to be ourselves, maybe within group situations)

Venus (21 degrees Capricorn) trines Vesta at 21 degrees Virgo. Vesta is the missing leg in this week's Mutable T-Square Full Moon and Venus will be back here at the end of the year retrograding over exactly this point, so pay attention - there is a kind of 'head's up' now. A focus on the specific/the practical. on service, on work/health/our daily life and obligations, on organization enables Venus to work her magic. This is near-enough the RED HOT 22/23 degrees to give this extra oomph. The trine is the most positive aspect in astrology and Venus our most beneficial planet. This is Cappy/Virgo - practical success that feels good.

Also note, Mercury will be retrograde in just five days, back up those files, phone pics.

TUESDAY - this is a BIG day. We have the Sun in Aquarius (6 degrees) squaring Aqua-co-ruler Uranus in Taurus at the same time we have Neptune in Pisces (19 degrees) squaring the Nodes - this second aspect has been in play for awhile, but here is where it is most exact.

The Sun is in his detriment in Aquarius (since he rules Aqua's polarity sign of Leo) and now he squares Aqua's co-ruler Uranus. Uranus is unpredictable and will not be fenced in. Changes occur suddenly (although not always totally without warning). Routine is upended.

Today's energy says the present is the finish of the past. It says the inventiveness we need may actually be available to us.

It says if we are stuck, Uranus can attract people/things/situations that allow/force us to break out of stuck constructs. Come unstuck. Or require us to see/act on things in a new way.

With Neptune squaring the Nodes at the same time, this is double the energy to release the illusion/the delusion, the payoff we are getting from whatever positionality (is this a word? I guess not) we are stuck in. The satisfaction we get from our current position - is always what is keeping us stuck. And does our current position still make sense/cents - always a question with Uranus in Taurus.

There is no changing the past or controlling the future. This is volatile energy that can bring surprises.

Uranus will always seek to overturn anything traditional or conventional that has outlived its usefulness. So, we have the Sun, moving through Aquarius, not so happy/strong and he moves into this tension/frustration with the planet he is not happy to be answering to in the first place.

At the same time Neptune, strong in his home sign of Pisces, is squaring the South Node in Sagittarius and the North Node in Gemini. Mutable T-square. Neptune square the Nodes is a time of confusion, but also a time when the time to be confused is in the past. It has to be. Goodnight Irene. Something draining must be drained. So, time to choose/pivot. We want to be focused on facts/what is close by, not on beliefs/potential/what is foreign.

The empty leg of the T-Square is Vesta at 19 degrees Virgo.

Vesta has been in Virgo since October 22, 2020. She will be here until July. This is a very long transit. I guess we need her here while Neptune battles it out with the Nodes of Fate, to get our collective sh*t together. Vesta says prioritize. Prioritize. In Virgo, she says, prioritize what is practical/useful/needed/what works. Prioritize the stuff you can touch/taste/hold. She says what you hold sacred is what you give your time and attention to. Always.

Virgo is about our daily activities, the way we make use of our time, our work, our service to others, our health, the way we organize ourselves, our paperwork, the ways we handle details, keep things clean. Vesta in Virgo is pure/untouched/unadulturated feminine energy.

The empty leg of a T-Square is the anchor - how we balance this energy. Vesta, at 21 degrees Virgo, is the empty leg now. It's not a coincidence she ends up right where she is at just the time we need an anchor.

So, through the lens of Virgo we lean away from the past and into the future. We pivot. We make our next move.

(the space of Vesta in our natal chart shows what we need to keep our inner flame lit. She can also be an indicator of what we need to do to keep that inner flame from going out, and, on the other hand, where we might unconsciously tend the flame of others, while our own flame dwindles ..)

THURSDAY - this is the day of the Full Moon in Leo. At the same time we have Venus meeting Pluto and the Sun meeting Jupiter. Wow. THIS LOOKS AS BIG AS ANYTHING ELSE WE HAVE SEEN this month and we've seen alot, haven't we?

Drama, our heart, our spotlight, obsession, intensity, power, life and death, luck, the future. It's like a Broadway extravaganza on opening night - it's all there.

Expect a BIG post. I can't wait to unpack the chart!

SATURDAY - Mercury stations retrograde at 26 degrees Aquarius. He/she will station direct on February 20, 2020 at 11 degrees Aquarius - this is the day of that CRAY-CRAY seven planet stellium in Aqua. Booster rockets into the future, so the retro gives us some time to take care of the things we need to, so we can best line up with this timeline. We take off in a very BIG way. So, this retrograde is equally HUGE.

Collectively, Mercury's retrograde through Aquarius will bring up re-dos, re-visions, re-thinking around our friendships, the internet, our tech, science, the goals that bring us into connection with other people. Old friends can come back into our lives. We'll talk about this in its own post.

Expect a BIG post about this, too.

In the meantime, back up your files/phone pics, etc.

Back with some dailies!

Today's Astrology Forecast | Thursday, January 21, 2021 - illusions dissolve, the fading of what we once nurtured, opportunities disguised as frustrations and jolts

The Moon, exalted in Taurus - we are nurtured through comfort, sensual touch, security. She met up with Mars and Uranus while we slept (EST) and squared Jupiter at 5:14AM EST. Mars in Tauris is building toward his own square with Jupiter tonight/tomorrow, which can fuel our enthusiasm/courage/push to move forward, but also make us prone to over-doing or coming on too strong.

This is also the day Ceres is exactly conjunct Neptune. We talked about this in the Inauguration post HERE. Boundless/sacrificial care. Smother/mothering if taken to an extreme. With Neptune things tend to fade away/dissolve, so maybe something we had been/have been caring for is fading/dissolving. Clinging to anything during a Neptune transit is like trying to hold onto water and Ceres was the grieving mother, maybe trying to hold onto daughter Persephone for just a bit too long. We have to go with the flow here, there is no controlling however this is showing up for us. Keep in mind also the cycle of re-birth (the seasons) Ceres also rules. Birth follows death as surely as spring follows winter.

This aspect, coupled with Mars/Jupiter in Taurus/Aquarius (moving on from what is stuck) can aid in ending delusions/illusions - whose time/season has ended.

In the United States, we will see the Forever Trumpers waking up from their delusion that he is saving the world (or maybe in some cases doubling down) and the Never Trumpers, waking up from their delusion that everything bad is because of him. Ceres will square the Nodes tomorrow while semi-squaring Saturn. Reality checks. The Mars/Jupiter can bring opportunities disguised as collisions. Whatever is happening, or isn't, will be based on our own actions/in-actions.

The balls that are in our court, and there are a couple, will need to be played,

The astrology of the Inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris | January 20, 2021 - hope, group responsibility, great grief, compassion, smart changes, chaos, passion, the need to bring everyone to the table, harder days and better days ahead

On Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 12:00 Noon EST, President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice-President Elect Kamala Harris will be sworn into office. This chart, speaks not only of the events at play on this particular date, but also being the birth of their term, of what we can expect over the next four years.

Let's unpack the chart!

Every U.S. inauguration (always at noon on January 20th) has a 15 degree Taurus rising chart - so answering to beneficial Venus. The Sun is always at 0 degrees Aquarius in the 10th house. The mid-heaven is always 27 degrees Capricorn - the degree of the USA's natal Pluto. Always a powerful chart. Our forefather's knew a little something about astrology I would suspect.

This time around we've got a HUGE stellium in Aquarius including Aqua's co-ruler Saturn and the early Aqua planets are squared by an EXACT conjunction of Mars and Uranus from the 12th house. BML is conjunct the ascendant. Eris is squaring Pluto. Ceres and Neptune are EXACTLY conjunct in the 11th house (of the people/Aquarius natural house). The Moon is just about to square the Sun - Taurus/Aquarius - the old stability vs the new changes. The people vs the new rules.

This chart won't be easy.

Asteroid Karma at 1 degree Virgo is EXACTLY conjunct Joe Biden's natal North Node (fate) and conjunct Kamala's IC. Asteroid Kamil (our significator for Kamala) EXACTLY conjunct the descendant (partner and I think indicating the equal partnership they will have, also I think "the other" this election is bringing in, ie woman, woman of color). Asteroid Bida (our significator for Biden) conjunct asteroid Wuhan (one of our significators for the virus) and also conjunct Kamala's natal Saturn, Biden's natal Damocles (the consequences of getting what we want/unexpected peril) and the USA's natal Moon (the people).

Asteroid Pandora - we talked about my thoughts about her bringing us our first woman President, back in August, HERE -  (the first woman and another significator for the virus) is at 29 degrees Virgo closely conjunct the USA natal MC and also conjunct the USA natal asteroid Kamil (10th house) and in Biden's natal, his Kamil/Neptune conjunction (10th house).

Venus at 15 degrees Capricorn is EXACTLY conjunct fixed star Vega. Keep in mind Venus rules the chart and also that the planets in Taurus (that volatile Mars/Uranus conjunction) are answering to HER, so she is UBER important here. Vega (the star at the handle of the lyre in the Lyra constellation) is said to combine the energies of Mercury and Venus. It's about poetry and science and art, and, of course music. It gives beneficence, idealism, hopefulness, class, intelligence and flexibility. A caution that comes with this star is not to use 'popularity' in any exploitative/pretentious way. The Star's connection with Mercury can also bring some trickery/thievery.

So, we have a loop here between the 1st house ascendant Taurus (our resources, money, values, self-esteem), Venus in the 9th house (wisdom, foreign people and situations, legal situations - with chart ruling Venus in the 9th, foreign relationships will become a priority) in Cappy (structure, stability, limits, rules, authority), answering to Saturn in Aquarius (the people, the future, technology, science) in the 10h house. Saturn is co-ruler of Aqua, but is also answering to Uranus (unpredictability, chaos, plus all the Aqua stuff) in the 12th house (the past, what is behind us, what we can't see coming, lies , deception, ill health/endings).

Chart-ruling Venus in Cappy is trining those Taurus planets (brakes off, but this is waning/in the past, part of what got us to this moment - the violence/chaos - with Trump's natal Uranus/Sun conjunction and Mars/Ascendant conjunction, I think this is also speaking of him in the past and part of what got us here - also asteroid TRIUMF - a significator we've used before for Trump, conjunct the Taurus planets) AND applying to a sextile to that Ceres/Neptune conjunct.

Ceres/Neptune is compassionate/unconditional nurturing (with Neptune ruling endings, this can also bring the release of what we've been nurturing/mothering). Ceres (the grieving mother/losses outside our control) and Neptune also speak of great mourning/great grief. Letting go. It's not a coincidence that just as this aspect perfects on Tuesday night - Biden/Harris are honoring, at the Lincoln Memorial, the Americans who have died in this pandemic. This aspect is compassionate/boundary-less. Ceres has been in Pisces (remember she repeated Mercury's spring retro journey through Pisces - sign of viruses) since April 23rd, so it's no coincidence she meets Pisces ruler Neptune at exactly this moment. Ceres will be in Aries on February 21st. Hang in there - spring is coming.

One downside to Ceres/Neptune is a kind of smother-mothering (and yes, this speaks of masks and probably more things some people are not loving like contract-tracing with the pandemic). Keep in mind this is mother energy. On steroids. Father might say - don't crash the car, don't knock her up - then he goes to bed ... and sleeps. Mother asks - where will you be, who will you be with, what will you be doing - and then of course she waits up for us anyway. Sacrificial nurturing - which works until it doesn't. These planets are EXACTLY squaring the Nodes of Fate, so we are going to need to be flexible/make adjustments here. Ask more questions and not think we have all the answers. The opposition to Vesta in 'let's fix this thing'/service-oriented Virgo - speaks of confusion about where to put our energies/focus. Is the sacrifice necessary? Maybe the time will come to stop fixating on what we can't fix. Again flexibility/adjustments.

The Aquarius stellium is UBER important. This speaks of the future, technology, science, our commitments to the group. Pallas conjunct Mercury of intelligent planning, new/innovative ways to solve problems. New strategies. New ways to think.

Note ruler Saturn is sandwiched between the Sun and Jupiter. Sun conjunct Saturn speaks of a limit (Saturn) being illuminated (Sun). Our country's/and its leaders responsibilities. Consequences from our previous actions are illuminated (good or challenging). Chickens come home to roost. The country puts a ring on it. This speaks of a serious commitment. This is not the best aspect for Biden's physical health/energy (being the Sun here), sandwiched between Pluto and Saturn, hopefully that sextile to Chiron will help. Jupiter conjunct the Sun/Saturn can make this heaviness/responsibility feel BIGGER or LIGHTER - it's going to depend on what is done with this. The Sun is applying to that Saturn conjunction - harder days ahead/new rules/limits. The Sun is applying to that Jupiter conjunction - better days following that. Getting lucky.

With Mars conjunct Uranus and applying to a square with Jupiter (so again something gets BIGGER or LIGHTER/more hopeful) from the 12th house this speaks of the disorder/chaos/anger of the past. The Moon will be (29 degrees Aries) EXACTLY where Mars was back on January 6th when a Trump rally turned violent. Note - this is conjunct Kamala's natal Moon and opposing her natal Sun (yes, like Trump she was born on a Full Moon!). These planets are in the past (that 12th house), but also behind us where we can't see them coming! We are charged with still dealing with this - through those tense/frustrating/maybe dangerous - squares to those 10th house planets. With the square to Jupiter applying - we aren't done with this. This can also speak of an unexpected loss/ending/death during the term of this President. Eris in that same house speaks of the need to bring everyone - yes, even the people we don't agree with - TO THE TABLE.

Juno has been so active in 2020 and it is interesting to find Juno at 10 degrees Sagittarius, in the 7th house of partnership - conjunct Biden's 9 degree Sag natal Juno and Kamala's 8 degree natal Juno. I think this portends they will work very well together and also work well with other people/countries. Juno rules not only partnerships and contracts, but in Greek mythology (known as Hera to the Greeks), she was the God of women, mother of the Milky Way Galaxy.

I'm not going to sugar-coat it, there are ALOT OF SQUARES in this chart.

Tension, frustration, challenges. There are great obstacles AND great obstacles bring great opportunities. They are the only thing that ever truly does really.

And, unless the Inauguration gets postponed until after 2:00PM EST for some reason, the Moon is void.

This happened during Obama's second term and Trump pretty much stepped in and wiped it out. Nothing came of it. With the three presidencies prior to that one that started under void Moons, the new Presidents did not get to finish their term - FDR died in office, Kennedy was assassinated and Nixon resigned. I think there are multiple indicators of Biden's presidency leading to Kamala's. But, I don't think it's helpful to speak of this right now.

Biden is destined for this moment. Fate has brought him to us to bring us to 'the other' (this is also the United States job/destiny - it always has been).

He has done it before and he will do it again

and in between he will do his job the best he can to help heal and bring together a humbled, grieving and broken nation. He knows a little something about grief and brokenness and will do this job very well, I suspect.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Tuesday, January 19, 2021 - curve balls, changes to our resources and values, keep a cool head and don't blow something all out of proportion

The Moon continues her journey through independent and fiery Aries. She squared Venus at 4:42AM EST (Aries ruler Mars is in Taurus answering to Venus) and will sextile Mercury at 12:53PM EST. This is also the day the Sun moves into the sign of the genius/rebel/criminal - Aquarius.

With the Moon in Aries and Aries ruler Mars driving our emotional train as we move toward his collision with Uranus (tonight/tomorrow) and square with Jupiter (Saturday) - there is a good chance for something to get blown way out of proportion here. Stay frosty. Be smart.

With Mercury in cool-headed Aqua, sextiling the Moon and applying to a trine to the North Node - logic, detachment, a focus on the future will be helpful.

Mars/Uranus is breakdowns. Breakthroughs. Break-ups. Expect the unexpected. It's explosive and these guys haven't met in Taurus since the 1930's. This is designed to change our resources/values and we need to be careful here, because this is really important stuff we could be blowing up.

This is that stuck stuff in Taurus vs our Aquarian future. This is also our personal values/resources vs our commit to the group/hive-mind. Taurus/Aqua aspects are complicated.

Tonight/tomorrow we can expect the unexpected.

Take care driving. Don't play with matches. Don't toss your expensive phone in an angry fit or tell off your boss. Anger and passion can erupt suddenly now and be hard to control. This isn't necessarily always a bad thing (a new phone/new job may be needed), but it could be, so if something is escalating in an uncomfortable way - take a breath and a step backward.

All the best aspects are to Mercury in Aquarius - cool-headed logic, thinking ahead, detaching ourselves from situations before things go too far, being smart - here's our way through this.

We talked about this in the weekly HERE for Wednesday.

Back with the inauguration post.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Monday, January 18, 2021 - taking action on our goals and responsibiltiies, vulnerabilities triggered, things get better later

Today is all about the Moon in Aries.

With the Moon in Aries we are nurtured through time alone, our passions, action, initiative, anger, men. She will sextile Saturn at 9:19AM EST, sextile Jupiter at 3:44PM EST, and, in between, meet up with wounded healer Chiron.

That sextile to Saturn is good for taking action on our goals, working with authority and stepping into our own. Any contact with Saturn can bring up responsibilities and limits, but maybe here it is just enough to give our day the structure it needs. So GET MOVING.

Her meeting with Chiron is going to be uncomfortable. Our fears around being able to act/take care of ourselves/be ourselves - whatever this is, it is very old and we are emotionally triggered. We are kind of running right into our vulnerabilities today. This can also make us, and other people, appear to be more self-interested or pushy/aggressive than we or they intended - keep this in mind. We need to be brave and an Aries Moon is brave. Our actions will help us through any insecurities - just keep going.

The Moon will meet Chiron at 12:49PM EST, so maybe take a long/late lunch.

This all lands with an uplifting, smooth and optimistic sextile to expansive Jupiter in the late afternoon (EST), so this looks like an "all's well that end's well" kind of situation. Or something takes our mind off our problems. Either way -

things get better later.

Astrology forecast for Creatives | Week of January 18th - January 24th, 2021 - curve balls, explosions, giving something some space, new ideas and information, reality checks and lalaland no vacancy signs

We talked in an earlier post about how January would bring the explosive changes/steps forward and February the 'clean ups on aisle six'/steps backward.

This is one of those EXPLOSIVE weeks.

With Mars meeting Uranus (this happens every couple years) it is a time of shake/rattle/roll. Also DANGER, so stay frosty. No dark alleys. No wooden nickels. Respond instead of react.

Expect some curve balls.

Breakthroughs. Breakdowns. Breakups.

If something in our Taurus house (the space we hold that very precious - to us - stuff) needs to come unstuck, well here comes Mars to unstick it. If we have wanted to do something different, here is the energy/push to do it. If we have wanted to say something radically/authentically unpredictable, here is the energy/push to say it.

Keep in mind, we can burn bridges and alliances that will take a long, long time to rebuild. Be a grown-up. Another week of risks and rewards, but we need to balancing this all out, so we don't take anything too far because the energy is totally ripe to take something WAY TOO FAR.

This is also the week the Sun joins that Aquarius pile-up and meets Saturn - reality checks, responsibilities, results.

Let's unpack the week and we'll toss in the Moon with a couple dailies!

TUESDAY - Sun into Aquarius

WEDNESDAY - Mars conjunct Uranus, Mercury trine North Node

SATURDAY - Sun conjunct Saturn, Mars square Jupiter, Venus sextile Neptune, Venus inconjunct North Node

TUESDAY - the Sun enters Aquarius until February 18th. Aquarius is advancement. Access to brilliant ideas (through a connection the higher-mind/hive-mind). A chance to be ourselves. In intellectual Aqua we get the opportunity to step back and take a less emotional view of something. It energizes us to move outside the box and try something else. It allows us to put some space between us and that challenging, draining situation. As always with Aquarius all detachment is helpful until it isn't.

Sometimes we are too close and too enmeshed in a situation to see clearly what is happening. Stepping back is good and needed. We can see what is happening with less judgment. We can see past societal rules (Aquarius is the rebel, genius, criminal). We get a new set of eyes to see the world.

Of course (that fly in the ointment thing again), if we step too far back we are like an outsider in our own life and this is not a good thing. Detachment can create dispassion. Problems with loving 'people' in general (or a cause/group) more than we love the person lying next to us in bed ... or the person looking back at us from the mirror can come into the light over the next month.

WEDNESDAY - Mercury trines the North Node as Mars meets Uranus

Mars is our passion, our initiative, our action, our anger. Uranus is fast change, the future, liberation, something radically different.

This is a lightning strike (or a strike while the iron is hot situation).

It can make us (and other people) impulsive. It can make us accident-prone.

This is the energy of break-ups, breakdowns and breakthroughs. Anything that feels even remotely like a cage or collar is going to feel WAY too small.

Anger and passion can erupt suddenly now and be hard to control. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but if something is escalating in an uncomfortable way - take a breath and a step backward. The Sun in Aquarius is our friend.

THE BEST USE OF THIS ENERGY because we also have Mercury trining (brakes off) the North Node (our future):

1. truly express who we are - this aspect doesn't say we are going to like the outcome, just that we will feel the push to "go for it", if this is something you need to do, this is exactly the energy that will help you to do it

2. make some kind of radical move, do (Mars) something different or differently (Uranus) - this is EXACTLY the energy we need to make a leap from our outdated/stifling crap to new and different crap (ie circumstances).

Again, remember, new is not always better. New is just new. Sometimes new is better though.

Also remember when it comes to change and Uranus - we don't always have a choice.

This is "shortcut" energy.

Uranus can get us from here to there very quickly. Uranus doesn't really care how this happens or if we land on our ass when we get there.

We have the courage and the strength to put something into action here. Something that smells like authenticity (although nobody actually wants to smell your authenticity - keep this in mind - this is a metaphor). Something that tastes like freedom.

Also keep in mind - LIFE IS FLASHING A HUGE "PROCEED WITH CAUTION" SIGN AT US.

If this action/move is something you have been thinking about for a long time or fits into your long-term planning - it could be the time to go for it. If this is something that just popped into your head and is risky - it is definitely the time to get your head examined.

(and actually Mars rules your head, so take care of your head now, too).

At the same time Mercury is trining the North Node of Fate.

A trine is a 120 degree aspect in astrology. Two planets (or points) are forming one side of a triangle. They are working in harmony, stimulating each other toward increased activity and success.

We want (and always have) some of these in our natal birth chart. They are our subtle super powers. We can't see through a wall, but maybe we can see when someone is bullshitting us. We can't leap tall buildings with a single bound, but maybe we can leap over obstacles without getting mired in indecision.

Or we could think of them like a tool we are carrying in our pack for this lifetime. We need a screwdriver. We pull it out without thinking, we use it, it works, we put it back. It's something that's there. And it's helpful.

Today we have Mercury (communication, conversations, ideas, information) in Aquarius trine the North Node (destiny, our collective way forward) in Gemini - and Mercury rules Gemini. This is the voice that urges us forward. The encouraging word that keeps us going. This is the conversation or idea or information that changes or confirms our direction. This is that thing we read at exactly the right time. So pay attention now. Trines don't jump off the shelf and announce themselves, "HEY YOU, yes, you, over here, listen to me!".

They are like that screwdriver.

Except this time it's not in the backpack we were given at birth, it's only available to us for a short time - and if we are not paying attention we'll miss it. The screwdriver will float off to wherever it is screwdrivers go when we don't need them (partying in the junk drawer with the flash light and extra batteries probably).

Keep your eyes and ears open.

SATURDAY - there is alot to unpack here and, of course, this is the day this stuff is most exact, but impacting the entire end of the week and into next -

The Sun meets Saturn at 4 degrees Aquarius.

This is a reality check. The Sun is now in his detriment (since he rules Aqua's polarity sign of Leo, ugh, more winter he mumbles to himself) and hasn't met Saturn in Aquarius in 18 years. Conjunctions sometimes bring results/endings. With Saturn in Aquarius, this can shine a light on friendships/social obligations/the goals that bring us into connection with other people. There could be new limits/responsibilities. This can feel heavy/depressing. I was born with this aspect in Aqua - a kind of "report card" lifetime, in a way. The Sun's bright light/attention comes with heavy obligations/rules. In Aqua, we can't feel good in the now without factoring in the future/without factoring in the group/without factoring in our natal Aqua house theme.

At the same time Mars is squaring Jupiter. Our actions could make us lucky, but there is a certain amount of risk involved and there are no guarantees with this. We might take something too far or overextend ourselves in some way. This aspect can bring enthusiasm, but also impulsivity. Something could get over-the-top - our passion, our anger, our actions, our spending.

This is also the day Venus (at 19 degrees Capricorn) sextiles Neptune and inconjuncts the North Node. A direct Neptune is back to 19 degrees Pisces now (taking us back to last March/April before his retrograde), so exactly squaring the Nodes of Fate.

Venus sextile Neptune is a beautiful aspect. Attracting love, compassion, connection (also maybe some lunatic on the subway or a smooth slide from one glass of wine to the entire bottle, so keep this in mind, too). And in Cappy/Pisces - building the dream.

The inconjunct (rock and a hard place here) is Cappy/Gemini. Gemini (the North Node) wants us to stay loose/be asking questions/not tying ourselves down just yet. And Venus in Capricorn needs to be serious/realistic/attracting what she needs for the long term. And again, we have talked about this before, if Cappy can learn to accommodate Gemini's need for variety and if Gemini can learn to accommodate Cappy's need for structure/long-term planning - these guys can make this work.

Keep in mind as Venus sextiles (opportunity) Neptune, the North Node is squaring Neptune. So Venus's magic is the North Node's kryptonite.

There are opportunities for our imagination, compassion, spirituality, healing, but we need to keep one eye on the facts and one foot on the ground at the same time.

Lalaland doesn't need any more residents/visitors. It's still a quarantine and she's full up.

Back with a post for the U.S. Inauguration on Wednesday as Mars meets Uranus (!)

HERE is a post from Trump's inauguration 4 years ago. That mystic rectangle - gift he was here to bring us (and he has) - seems pretty accurate, although I certainly didn't decipher it in any truly useful way back in 2017. With the hindsight of 2020, that rectangle takes on a whole new meaning ...

The Astrology of the disappearance of California brothers Orson and Orrin - a Saturday Night mystery

I was recently asked to look at this chart for a Facebook crime-solving group and it's been awhile since I posted a Saturday Night Mystery, so I thought we would look at it here, too.

This is an extremely sad case happening right now in California.

Orson and Orrin West, are adorable three and four year old brothers, adopted into the home of Trezol and Jacqueline West in 2019. The family had recently moved, along with their other four children, into a ranch home in California City, California. On the early evening of December 21, 2020 - this was the Winter Solstice/meeting of Jupiter and Saturn and you can see in this chart they are pretty much exactly as close as they got that day - Trezol West calls the police to report Orson and Orrin missing.

This chart is for the time of a video made from a neighbor's door camera which shows the father waiting outside for the police. The father had just called 911.

With a 29 degree Ascendant I might think this chart "too late to judge"/too far from what actually happened to be of use. But with both significators (astrological stand-ins) for the victim interacting strongly with the significator for the perpetrator, I decided to examine it anyway. I usually look at the chart through Saturn first (because if the story can't be told before we get past Saturn, we probably have the wrong story - remember we are always looking for repeating energies) and then I add in the outer planets and any asteroids/fixed stars that are very intimately interacting with either an important point or important planet.

Trezol, the adoptive father, tells the police, and reporters later (the parents' video is on multiple youtube sites), it was a cold evening. He was going in and out of the house gathering firewood from an empty lot next door. His wife was wrapping Christmas presents and they put the boys outside to color with chalk in the driveway, presumably so she could wrap presents. Their other four children were at their grandparent's house (I believe, this part is kind of fuzzy). At some point - and it is getting dark out now - and he has already said it is getting cold, Trezol realizes the boys are no longer playing in the driveway. The driveway is long and runs back toward the garage in the backyard. He says he checks around the house for them and talks to Jacqueline and she hasn't seen the boys either, so he looks outside again. He then gets in his car, drives around for six minutes (according to the neighbor's camera footage), returns to the house and calls the police. We see him on the neighbor's video camera footage standing still in the front yard waiting for the police (for more than 10 minutes, barely moving). What we don't see is the father or mother running around looking for the children. We don't see any urgency. We don't see the closest road or the lot next to their home searched at all.

Overhead views of the neighborhood on youtube show a lack of trees/woods. It's a very barren landscape. The video of the parents' interview is very strange/feels practiced. They seem more focused on getting their story straight and thanking searchers than finding the children (my opinion). The father speaks of "when it all went down" and describes the boys as "rambunctious". The police and volunteers search multiple times over the next couple weeks. There is no sign of the boys. At some point the birth mother comes to the house. She tells reporters she thinks the adoptive parents did something to the children. Neighbors tell reporters they've never even seen these boys at all and wonder if the brothers ever moved to California City with their family in the first place. That same neighbor's same video camera shows four children getting in and out of the van some days prior ... not six children.

So, what happened? Where are Orson and Orrin?

Can an astrology chart cast for the time of the 911 call/the video of the waiting father - tell us anything?

Let's unpack the chart.

The chart has a 29 degree Gemini rising - a late degree/possibly too late/something's already happened/already decided/already done. But this is in Gemini, the sign of fast movement, children, young people, pairs, siblings, so perfectly suited to represent (because the ascendant will represent the victim) these two boys. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, at 1 degree Capricorn in the 7th house - the perpetrator's house, so basically right where the perpetrator is (his house, territory, etc), closely conjunct the Sun (a male, could be a father), so under the Sun's beams - grave danger. Mercury in Capricorn is answering to Saturn at 0 degrees Aquarius conjunct Jupiter in the 8th house. The victim's final dispositor in the 8th house is not good news

(in this type of chart, this is a strong indicator the victim/victims are no longer alive).

The other significator for the victim is the Moon.

The Moon is in Aries (the sign of young men) in the 10th house - the father's house, authority's house, also telling us what is happening now can become known/public (the 911 call, the video tape/the boys' disappearance). Mars, ruler of Aries, is in Aries and exactly conjunct Eris and squaring Pluto. Volatile. Dangerous. So, we have a loop between the 1st house, the 7th house, the 8th house, the 10th house, the 11th house and the 6th house.

The perpetrator in this chart is represented by the Descendant (in astro, the open enemy). Planets in the 7th house can show us details of the crime. There are two planets here - the Sun (male/father/authority) and Mercury (the children/the pair). In Capricorn, this feels cold/calculated, maybe done with some kind of goal in mind. Or maybe this just shows the authority the perpetrator has over the victim. Also an older (older than the victim) perpetrator.

Here we have 29 degrees Sagittarius exactly conjunct dwarf planet Ixion (the first murderer in mythology) and closely conjunct the Sun (the father) and Mercury (our stand-in for the boys). The ruler of Sagittarius is Jupiter - a Jupiter/Sag appearance might represent our perpetrator and would be a person who is kind of larger than life, with a well-proportioned body, strong, brown hair or possibly bald, brown complexion, oval face, high forehead, handsome, well-spoken. Maybe a big talker/restless/reckless. This seems to fit the adoptive father from the video.

Jupiter is in detached Aquarius conjunct Saturn (the final dispositor of the boys' stand-in Mercury) maybe showing 'wisdom blocked' in the 8th house of death. Saturn is the ruler of Aquarius and in Aquarius, but Aqua's co-ruler Uranus is in the 11th house in Taurus. This might speak, Uranus/11th house/Taurus, of a financial plan involving the public, maybe an idea to get money through the children's disappearance (kickstarter, etc) or it could just be speaking of the perpetrator's shaky finances or new resources (the new house). And keep in mind something is never just one thing. Uranus in Taurus is answering to Venus (ruler of Taurus) in the 6th house in Sagittarius.

Venus in the 6th could represent a woman in their daily life (and both the victims and perpetrator are pulled into this 6th house Venus, so maybe a woman in both their day-to-day lives). Venus is often very soft in forensic charts - she doesn't always have to represent a she, although I believe she does here. And we can see although this loop takes some time to get us there, a woman is pulled into the perpetrator's story. Maybe after the fact since that 8th house is more immediate than the 6th or maybe into the "financial plan" after it is hatched, since the 6th follows the 11th. With both Venus and the Descendant in Sagittarius the perpetrator and this woman (we can assume she is the adoptive mother, since who else is in all their day-to-day lives and obviously the father can't get away with his 'children wandered off' story without her) seem similar in the chart so maybe the Sag strengths and weaknesses could apply to both of them - self-assured, idealistic, open-minded but also boastful, reckless, a preacher-type, quick tempers - or maybe she is pulled into his "big ideas". So, here we have a loop of 7th house (the perpetrator), 8th house (death), the 11th house (sometimes the mis-fit house, meaning a missed fit/the other/maybe public money through Taurus/new resources) and the 6th house (the people we see everyday).

Nothing is this chart looks like stranger abduction or kids wandering off and getting lost to me.

All roads lead to Aquarius (and note the 8th house holds Saturn - victim's dispositor, Jupiter - perpetrator's dispositor - and Pluto and we could just see him here as death itself, but also maybe indicating some financial part to this story) and through Aquarius we move to that 11th house co-ruler, erratic Uranus in his natural house (Aqua's natural house, too). This made me think of the kind of idealism/sense of humanity that makes it seem like a good idea to adopt so many children, but it is also a sign that is detached, so people are loved, in general, but maybe not the particular people right in front of us. It's not so warm and cuddly. Uranus/11th house also speaks of mis-fit situations and he is squaring the Sun (the father) and Mercury (the boys). And too much Aquarius, like we see in this chart, a kind of shadow that creates a repressed longing to be 'special'/need to be liked and admired/inability to see the paradox in its behavior, so things get squeezed out sideways in extreme/chaotic ways.

And Aqua/Sag is a tricky combination - you can start to believe outlandish things/your own bullsh*t and certainly you expect other people, who aren't nearly as smart as you think you are, to believe you, too. Which is how their story can sound ridiculous to everyone, but them.

When we add the dwarf planets/asteroids into the chart, the chart tells an even more complete and complex picture. We do have to keep in mind, we want to use these newer energies in support of the other energies since their characteristics are not as well-known/studied.

There is an asteroid named Orsin and an asteroid named West. Orsin is sandwiched between and conjunct the Moon (a significator for Orson and Orrin) and Chiron. Chiron is our wounded-healer centaur, abandoned by his mother and adopted by Apollo (the Sun, shown here in the perpetrator's house, can also be a stand-in for 'the father'/father-figure).

Asteroid West is conjunct that Ceres/Nessus conjunction on the midheaven.

So, we have the grieving mother Ceres EXACTLY at the top of the chart (a stand-in for the birth mother and in Pisces - the birth mother has said she lost custody of her sons due to drugs use, so this is likely her) conjunct Asteroid West and dwarf planet Nessus. Nessus was the centaur who rapes or attempts to rape Hercules's wife after she is handed over to Nessus by Hercules to carry across the river. Some astrologers link Nessus to rape themes, and that might be true sometimes, but more often I find him in prominent placements speaking of - the bad things that come of trusting precious cargo to untrustworthy people and third party situations that go bad, sometimes, as here, terribly, terribly bad.

With centaur Chiron ruling adoption and Nessus in play, I checked the chart for the other centaurs (there aren't many centaurs and I was surprised to find two on major points of the chart and one conjunct a major planet). Not much is known about many of the centaurs and so much of their known mythology is about the way they died.

Asteroid Pholus - of the 'cork out of the bottle' fame, when a small action causes a big event/something that starts and then can't be stopped is closely conjunct Mercury, a stand-in for the boys. Asteroid Echeclus, very closely conjunct the Ascendant - known for his death via a spear that had lost its point, so through numerous blows to his head. Something that should have been quick/almost painless becoming something else. Asteroid Aphidas, very closely conjunct the chart's IC - known for his death while he slept. So although asleep and not causing any trouble (as the myth goes), he was 'not spared'. His discovery chart (at the 27th degree of Cancer, is the sabian symbol for 'a violent storm in a canyon filled with expensive homes', sounds like what is happening now at the base of this matter/the neighborhood).

This might be too literal an interpretation of these centaurs/asteroids and I hope it is.

One thing to keep in mind is this isn't a 'last seen' chart. This is the 911 call chart. And it represents this, too. The ruler of the chart is Mercury (communication) - here in Cappy (serious communication) in the 7th conjunct the Sun. So the father (Sun) calling (Mercury) the police (Cappy). With Neptune in Pisces in Cappy's natural house (10th), the call could be a lie. Mercury rules the 4th (home) and 12th house in this chart (endings/lies/the past and with the North Node here, fate playing its hand, too). The zero and one degrees, seem to say the course is set with this call or as the father himself says, "this is when it all went down".

I wish we had a chart for the time the children were last seen - this always seems to me a more complete rendering than the 911 call chart. With that maybe we could get a clearer picture of how events proceeded and where the boys are now. Maybe a last seen time will come out.

Let's hope and pray for a better outcome for these beautiful boys than this chart appears to offer :(

Today's Astrology Forecast | Thursday, January 14, 2021- let go or be dragged, stepping out of someone's power and into our own, moving forward, a very long void moon

While we slept (EST) Uranus stationed direct (3:36AM EST), the Moon went void (4:28AM EST for the next 36 HOURS) and then, at 9:19AM EST, the Sun will meet Pluto. Wow!

Let's break this down. Uranus has been retrograde since the middle of August 2020 - retracing the degrees of 10 thru 6 Taurus. Something here was very stuck. Needed multiple hits to allow us to SWERVE. Now, he is back at 6 degrees and moving FORWARD for the final pass. We won't be covering new ground for a while, but this is Uranus, and forward movement here (like Aquarius, the sign he co-rules) looks like ADVANCEMENT.

The Moon goes void in Aquarius. She is not interacting with any of the other planets due to all those early degree planets right now, which she has now passed - so all these early degree planets (starting energies) are going to get us these long voids. This one is a doozy. We have had long voids, but I can't remember anything quite THIS LONG in the nine years I have been writing these astrology posts.

In astrology, the Moon is thought to transmit the energies of the planets to the Earth/act as a kind of conduit, so when the Moon is Void-of-Course - not connecting to any energies, she has already done her job/delivered her goods - she is thought to not have the energy to create anything lasting. Nothing will come of what we start (and I have found this to be true, and even more commonly I have to do whatever it is I am doing all over again later), so it's best for routine matters (things we do again and again anyway) and doing things we want to be done with. Taxes, ending matters, paying bills, etc. Superstition tells us we meet soulmates ONLY during Void Moons - ha! not sure about that one! For now, it would be best not to start anything brand-new today or tomorrow and give yourself some extra time in your schedule because sometimes things get wonky.

The Sun meets Pluto today (an annual conjunction) at 24 degrees Capricorn. This is the darkness/what has been done in secret being brought into the light. Power illuminated. Pluto is the 'grim-reaper', he rules the spaces we merge/purge - the power of life and death. We might confront something we don't want to look at - maybe a TRUTH, maybe something hidden/embarrassing - we might be stepping into our own power here and away from someone else's influence/control. Either way with Uranus moving direct at the same time, this ending/result is pulling us into the future.

It's let go or be dragged time, people.

A 'big picture' post coming!

Today's Astrology Forecast | Wednesday, January 13, 2021 - facing the change, facing the music

The next couple days - and weeks, but maybe especially the next couple days - have the potential for IMMENSE ... - what is that Chinese symbol for both crisis AND opportunity? That.

We are in the portal of last night's INTENSE New Moon in Capricorn (on Pluto - life and death). With so many planets in the early degrees of signs we are going to have some very unusual and SUPER LONG Void Moons which will likely only add to any unease right now, but is also encouraging us to slow down.

The Moon met the Sun at midnight and then she went void after meeting Pluto at 2:22 (!) AM EST. She will be void until 11:44AM EST this morning when she moves into Aquarius. She is going to be void AGAIN at 4:28AM tonight (early tomorrow morning) and then stay void until 5:17PM on FRIDAY! I have been writing these daily forecasts since 2012 and don't think I have ever seen this before?! And involving Aquarius! Home of Saturn and Jupiter and Mercury! And our future! And with co-ruler Uranus strong and stationing to go direct at the same time! And with Mars in Taurus squaring Saturn! What cosmic sorcery is this?!

Last night's New Moon on Pluto at the end of Capricorn is kind of like having a Scorpio New Moon that takes us right into Aquarius (!) - that feels de-stabilizing enough and then the Moon is going to meet Saturn (5:10PM EST today), square Mars (5:29PM EST), meet Jupiter (9:54PM EST), square Uranus (still retrograde at 11:28PM EST, is this day Trump's unprecedented second impeachment) and finally go void AGAIN at 4:28AM EST off her meeting with Mercury.

The New Moon chart hinted that rash behavior wouldn't get us anywhere and these Aqua squares to Taurus might be saying alot of our problems are stemming from an inflexible or overly-invested relationship with the material world (and expecting that Taurus house of ours to stay the same and give us comfort when that house is in a long season of change via its lengthy visit from Uranus from 2018 - 2026) - we need to be focused on/appreciating what we do have and not what we don't have. And not in the way we are hanging onto what we have for dear life - because what we have/need is changing - we don't want to be like one of those gun bumper stickers about our cold/dead fingers because life can oblige this, too.

We have Mars squaring Saturn. This is pressure/responsibilities. Results of our prior actions. Stop signs. Limits. We have to work with this. We can't plow through. Saturn rules time and authority and boundaries. If you are trying to buck authority/beat the boss it isn't going to work. The piper will be paid. If you are stepping into your own responsibility/taking responsibility for your own actions - this is what is going to work and even this is only going to work over time.

Uranus is about to station direct - this will bring greater freedom/liberation as he gets up to speed.

This is also the day Venus trines Uranus. So we have Mars in Taurus answering to Venus (in Cappy) and she is in smooth flow with the future/change. Mars is stuck, but she isn't. Change your focus! And keep in mind the differences in the way Venus and Mars operate. Venus gets what she wants by attracting it - no effort, she lines up with what is hers. In Cappy this will probably be very practical things. Our goals. Ambitions. Mars gets what he wants through action, but he is squaring Saturn, so can't get what he wants through action right now. This doesn't mean he (as us) gives up - we keep working/have patience knowing -

the way through Saturn right now is Venus - diplomacy, tact, cooperation, balance, women.  She's in Cappy, so serious/sober/traditional and playing by the rules. She is trining (in a smooth/easy flow) Uranus - change/the future/detaching our happiness from an outcome - change is only chaotic when we are resisting it!

There is alot of crisis/opportunity energy right now and, like we talked about HERE in the New Moon post - we want to be careful/cautious. Stay flexible.

It's possible for a collective event to toss everyone off their game now because the energies are very BIG.

And the Moon in Aquarius uber active and coming off what feels like a Scorpio New Moon, is highly, highly unusual and these long voids are tricky.

Stay in your magic people. No dark alleys. Drive safely.

The New Moon in Capricorn | January 12th, 2021 - starting from scratch, what we pay attention to is changing, playing the game at a higher level, everyone gets a seat at the table

new moon in capricorn 2021

At midnight EST on January 12th (the night of January 12th that followed the day of January 12th, why is this midnight thing so confusing, or is it just me?) - the Capricorn Moon meets the Capricorn Sun at 23 degrees giving us this month's New Moon.

This is very near (22 degrees Cappy)  the degree where "time ran out - the Saturn/Pluto conjunction" of January 12, 2020. Happy Anniversary!

22 degrees is a master number, but can also become a number of self-sabotage. Like a space we have mastered, so we think we know what we are doing/have it all together and the fates can't touch us here, but then we move too fast or too casually or too recklessly and then screw ourselves up. Maybe because this is a very high degree to hold/carry and we are sometimes just going to muck it or maybe because we are afraid to step into our real power here. That is the collective space where in January 2020, power was destroyed and cemented.

This year the Sun/Moon/Pluto meet PAST this degree. So, first the Moon meets the Sun, then the Moon meets Pluto a couple hours later and then the Sun meets Pluto a couple days later. The Sun's next big aspect (other than his regular lunar aspects) will be on the 23rd when he meets Saturn and then just two days and one degree later he sextiles Chiron (this is his first of three sextiles to healing Chiron in 2021). So, the Sun starts a new cycle with Pluto - in Cappy, yes, but past 22 degrees, then he starts a new cycle with Saturn, this time in Aquarius (the future - that's on the 23rd), so between now and the 23rd is like a mini-cycle from Capricorn to Aquarius - and it's only after we get through that cycle that we get the sextile (opportunity for healing) with Chiron.

So, it's going to take a couple weeks to physically get to that sextile. But, the Moon, and the New Moon now is a lunar event - so, she is going to do all these things, too, but she is going to do them within just a couple days!

The United States (Sibley Chart) has its natal asteroid Narcissus at that important 22 degrees Capricorn and at the time of this New Moon asteroid Hybris will be exactly conjunct this HOT degree. The last time we talked about this asteroid was back on Trump's covid announcement chart HERE

In ancient Greece, Hybris (who gave meaning to our word hubris) was the goddess of insolence, impudence - known for taking things to extremes, excessive or foolish pride, flouting normal behavior and social conventions that often lead to one's downfall.

Combine Narcissus and Hybris at 22 degrees Cappy and we can see from the news what we get!

All these 23 degree New Moons talking to Eris (which change to a 22 degree New Moon just as Eris gets to 22 degrees) speak of the need for everyone to have a seat at the table. In the last couple years we have seen the #metoo Movement and the Black Lives Matter movement challenging white male (and female) entitlement. This is all part of the collapse of the patriarchy/hierarchy - our journey toward equality. In astro talk the total reinvention of these 20something Capricorn power degrees! This is why things are so hot RIGHT NOW.

Note - this seat at the table thing means everyone gets a say, we don't necessarily all get our way.

With Saturn in Aquarius and almost everything answering to him, he is mega powerful - all the Aqua and Cappy planets - the Sun, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury plus Chiron answering to Mars because Mars and Uranus are in Taurus, so answering to Venus in Capricorn answering to Saturn. Have we ever seen this before at a Capricorn New Moon?! But remember he shares Aquarius rulership, with Aqua's modern ruler Uranus (who is very unpredictable already and this week changing direction).

Keep in mind - we have moved through Saturn in Capricorn - many people were humbled, sometimes this humbling seemed unfair, but maybe this was what was needed to heal our ancestors who had needed to fall, but didn't. Or sometimes, having had our heads cut off by mad kings in prior lives, we needed to be back on the chopping block in this life to understand that we could now lose our head (job, authority, stability, etc) without actually dying this time. Many people stood up, some for the first time to heal themselves and some to heal their ancestors who needed to stand, but couldn't.

Many people lost the structures that were holding them up, their authority, their skills, their youth, their parents, their place in the world. This is all part of the ending of the patriarchy. It's a process. This isn't a snap of our fingers and this isn't painless because the patriarchy is part of us, it's in our charts, in our DNA. It's like losing our arm. This isn't going to be something pretty that we take a picture of and toss up on Instagram.

Now as we move through Saturn in Aquarius we are dealing with karma with trauma - maybe with group situations, maybe with technology.

We have a large portion of humanity still carrying a piece of our collective trauma that allows them to be exploited by emperors and demagogues (because they thought they were keeping them safe and maybe in prior lives/their ancestry/their childhood - the loss of these emperors caused them trauma - father dies and the children starve, the king is killed and the kingdom overthrown and they are killed, etc) and until this piece of our collective trauma is healed - none of us can move on.

This can also be about people needing to be humbled through the king's humbling. Our own trauma - stored survival stress - frozen inside us. We can't access our own feelings, but we can feel his. There is work (Saturn) to be done here.

Let's unpack the chart.

The Moon/Sun are conjunct Pluto in Capricorn (24 degrees) and exactly squaring Eris in Aries. The ruler of this lunation (Capricorn) is Saturn and almost everyone is answering to him. Saturn is at 3 degrees Aquarius, sandwiched between asteroid Zeus and Jupiter (the Roman's Zeus). Saturn is squaring Mars and Uranus and sextiling Chiron. Juno is sextiling Mercury and Jupiter. Mars is conjunct Uranus (exact on January 20th) and Uranus is conjunct Lilith.

(Remember we talked about the four New Moons at 23 degrees interacting with Eris (our outsider, troublemaker, whistleblower, terrorist energy). Of of the four Moons this is the only one where we are dealing with the tension/frustration of the square.)

So, we have the Moon and Sun conjunct Pluto. This is a "death of the king" aspect. We are humbled. Back here again - because remember we are only one step away from last year's story - but older and wiser this time.

This is intense. Transformative. The rules are changing. Stuff that has been stuffed under the rug needs to come out. This can have a strong "before and after" quality to what is happening. We are merged with Plutonian power. If we are ready to step into authentic power/and deal with what we have buried - this energy can increases our ability to influence our outcome. This is a new life purpose/commitment more aligned with who we have become through the permanent changes we have experienced in 2020. Keep in mind this is Pluto, so there could be aspects of control/manipulation/even danger here. Also, keep in mind although this is happening at 23 degrees, this is ground zero this year. We are starting from the very beginning with something. Maybe something falls apart and we have to begin again.

This is our annual Capricorn New Moon - always time to get to work! There is nothing new about that part of this.

Saturn, the ruler of this lunation, is sandwiched between Jupiter and Zeus (who was the Greek's Jupiter). The kings of the Gods and keep in mind Saturn was Jupiter's father and Jupiter would kill him just as Saturn killed his own father Uranus. Mars and Uranus are squaring Saturn. Saturn is strong in Aquarius, but this is alot of pressure/tension/challenges.

That square between Mars and Saturn tells us our actions will be impeded in some way. Maybe we have to take our time. Maybe rules/limits are restricting what we can do. This has to be dealt with. No short cuts.

Mercury is just past his/her square to Uranus. This is us building to the Jupiter/Uranus square at the end of the week - the only one we have this year. Mercury/Uranus can be a brilliant idea, but the square indicates whatever we are thinking/talking about/learning will bring tension/frustration. By the time Jupiter squares Uranus we might have exaggerated something or our over-thinking (Mercury/Uranus) causes the very thing we are worrying about when Jupiter meets Uranus. We need to stay positive with this. We need to take some risks without taking too many. This is a really important (and might be chaotic) series of events that CHANGE OUR MIND/BELIEFS.

Venus (at 5 degrees Cappy) is exactly squaring Chiron in Aries. Here are those practical things we want/that money in the bank/the career/those goals challenged by our vulnerability/wounding. Situations might arise where we feel less than. Less able. Less attractive. Less valuable. Exact on the New Moon tells us this isn't just a flash in the pan kind of thing - this is part of the New Moon story. So what action can we take here - do we need more training/credentials? Do we need more confidence in ourselves? Do we need to get healthy? Do we need healthier boundaries? With the Sun/Moon on Pluto we won't be allowed to just gloss over this.

Juno is sextiling Mercury so our relationships/contracts benefit from conversations and new ideas - Mercury is in Aqua, so things are more future-focused and less emotional and Juno is in Sag, so more optimistic than she was earlier in the year. Our Juno story has been a big part of our 2020 timeline.

So, to bottom-line this one as Saturn would say - and I have Mercury in Capricorn and Saturn in Aquarius (both 3rd house) and Uranus 10th house - so feel extra comfortable speaking about this one :) This is a transformational new start somehow connected to what we have lost/our humbling. We will put on our big girl/boy pants and deal with what is happening here and now. We have no choice. The chaos is us resisting the change. The change itself doesn't have to be chaotic. Change can be EXCITING. Something about what is happening here is designed to CHANGE WHAT WE PAY ATTENTION TO.

MONTHLY AFFIRMATION TIPS:

Some Capricorn new moon affirmation areas to think about: security, time, self-discipline, your brand and image, ambition, opportunity, goals, delegation, releasing control, father figures, reputation, your bones, knees, skin and joints.

Get grounded - we're late in an earth sign now, so this should be easier - always make affirmations from a  positive place (positive meaning both certain and joyful) - write your affirmations down by hand in cursive, we want the letters all connecting and flowing together, speak them out loud.

Then release your attention from them knowing that your intention is known.

This month I will burn mine with a white candle, let the candle burn down and then bury the ashes in the ground. I feel a little more connected with the finality of the results when I do something like this. You don't have to. Do what feels right to you. With Capricorn - serious is best.

Know these things are already yours
