THE ASTROLOGY OF BLACK MOON LILITH'S SQUARE TO JUPITER | REMOVING THE CURSE, A CHANCE TO HEAL CHILDHOOD WOUNDS AND SHAME THROUGH SELF-ACCEPTANCE - PART I

Black Moon Lilith isn't an asteroid or a planet.
She is the lunar apogee, a geometric point in space that marks the furthest point of the Moon's orbit around the Earth. She is as far as the Moon gets from the Earth. The darkest region of our psyche.
She moves slowly; spends about nine months in each sign. Not to be confused with asteroid Lilith in your chart, she does embody the essence of the Goddess Lilith though. Lilith was Adam's untameable first wife. She wanted equality/wouldn't play second fiddle and was tossed from the garden/vilified. Another demonized Goddess.
So, we all carry this soul memory/wound that plays gracelessly on repeat. This space where we were tossed from the garden. This space where we were shamed for wanting something we were perfectly entitled to want.
The space where shame turns to awkward action. The space where shame turns to anger.
(think about the astronomy/astrology - the Moon gets as far away from the Earth as possible, but is pulled back into orbit by gravity - no escape!).
There aren't enough likes/thumbs up/hearts in the universe to heal our Lilith wound. The wound is only healed through self-acceptance.
I don't see BML, other than in Scorpio or the 8th house or maybe in aspect with Pluto, as innately related to sexuality. Some astrologers do. You can make up your own mind about this.
For the last few weeks Black Moon Lilith has been in Cancer and squaring/shadow-boxing with Jupiter in Aries.
This is a great gift to us that kind of feels like a kick in the teeth (so maybe just a gift to our dentist, we will have to see how this all plays out).
Now that we've moved into Cancer season with the Sun, Mercury and Venus set to meet up with BML over the next few weeks, the wound/gift/kick in the teeth becomes even more important to unpack. This will be in play until late July when Jupiter will slow down for his retrograde and Lilith will move on.
With Black Moon Lilith squaring Jupiter in Aries - the wound/shame/anger AND THE ENERGY WE NEED TO HEAL THIS THROUGH SELF-ACCEPTANCE (Jupiter/Aries what better energy for self-acceptance, especially right now with Mars in Aries, too) ARE CONNECTED. Yes, the connection is through a challenging square, but squares (think of the way pressure makes diamonds here) get more done than smooth trines or sextiles, which are easy to miss, and this is Lilith we are talking about!
So, two things are happening with Black Moon Lilith in the sign of Cancer (home, family, mother, motherhood, our roots/tribe) squaring Jupiter for WEEKS - 1. we are all working through childhood wounds and wounds around home/mother/children and 2. our natal Black Moon Lilith is mega- ACTIVATED through tension. If you have a natal BML in aspect to Jupiter or the Moon, or 4th or 9th house this is probably all the more powerful and intense.
We have the collective childhood wound AND the personal wound (which will also connect back to childhood/past-lives/ancestral DNA) - activated/enlarged/ripe for healing. Black Moon Lilith in Cancer can bring a sensitivity to areas of our emotions that we have not been able to express before. Squaring Jupiter in Aries this expression may come out in over-the-top/angry ways, especially if we are just reacting and not responding. Her connection to Jupiter can also provide an outlet of optimism/faith in ourselves and a benevolent universe that was lacking when the wound was created. This is how we start responding instead of reacting. We can find/own our own wound/fear – what we’ve projected onto our family/tribe that they have also projected onto us – and realign with it.
The Lilith in Cancer wound (very powerful since Lilith is a lunar archetype) speaks of being shamed for being needy/dependent.
For desiring mothering, home, family, stability. Lilith in Cancer can interact awkwardly with these themes. Uncomfortable being dependent even when the situation is totally appropriate. An awkwardness with motherhood/mothering or being mothered (it's not a coincidence the United States. a Sun Cancer country has a baby food shortage with Black Moon Lilith in Cancer and Roe vs Wade up for dismissal). An inability to ask for or accept help. Sometimes an anger at people who can. Wounded or angry mothers or a lie/lying connected to mothers/mothering/home (I see the 'lie' connected to Lilith's refusal to 'lie' beneath Adam, her very essence linked to that word for centuries, words are s-p-e-l-l-s, people, use yours carefully, and also the "lie" that had Lilith going from a protector of babies to a feared killer of babies). This can also apply to Lilith in aspect to our natal Moon or Lilith in the 4th house. There are an unlimited number of ways this can play out, but the bottom line is extremes of behavior that is a result of being shamed for being needy.
And, of course babies/children are needy. With Lilith, the shame is always about something we are perfectly entitled to want, this is why it gets all twisted with awkwardness and anger.
The wound's connection to Jupiter for the last few weeks and over the next month through a challenging square is designed to help us see this, work with this, maybe even help heal this. And if our inner child has been seriously wounded to the point of immobility (we don't even know what we want anymore), this square can help us get ourselves moving again.
Jupiter went into Aries back on May 9th just as Mercury stationed retrograde - we were going back to go forward. Black Moon Lilith was already in Cancer - bringing her special kind of "pissed off Danger Will Robinson" energy into our space of home/family.
Jupiter has been chasing her ever since. But catching Lilith is tricky this summer and Jupiter never will. The BML/Jupiter square doesn't reach exactness/perfection. Whether this becomes a nagging thing we never get resolved (we can still learn from this, not everything gets tied up with a big red bow and that's ok) or we do get some kind of conclusion here (knowledge is power at the very least) - this starts to unwind when Jupiter slows to retrograde and then stations at the end of July.
Lilith, as always, keeps moving.
In the meantime, the Jupiter square will attract situations or enlarge situations that create tension/frustration. Our feelings about dependence and neediness may come up. Shame around wanting a home/family/to be mothered or be a mother. Shame around wanting safety and security. The wounds we carry from our wounded mothers. The ways we have wounded our own children. Without work we are probably only able to accept ourselves to the degree we were accepted by our parents. And they are only able to accept themselves to the degree they were accepted by their parents. And so on. And so on. Cancer also rules tribes and countries.
(this shame around neediness, the mother wound that creates narcissism among other things, is maybe our most ancient wound)
Jupiter in Aries provides an infusion of confidence and optimism and energy. The Lilith wound is healed through self-acceptance and here is our largest planet in the sign of the 'self'. I can't tell exactly how this will play out for each of us, but the square's rough edges will force change/adjustments/action.
Maybe if Lilith didn't get unconditional love from God, we can't get unconditional love from our parents (even if they give it), can't give it to ourselves. These kind of shadow energies, feelings we don't want to deal with, squeeze out in all kinds of awkward, uncomfortable, passive-aggressive and angry ways. With Black Moon Lilith in Cancer all kinds of childhood wounds will come up to be looked at/worked through. The wound itself created a kind of 'seed' of fear that we have been growing in the dark and carrying with us like an old suitcase (and yes, you can imagine it with tentacles ripping through the torn leather seams).
If we can see our original behavior for what it is (perfectly logical at the time), forgive OURSELVES, offer ourselves compassion/understanding, maybe we can eliminate the worn out/awkward ways we have of responding emotionally. At least, through astrological study, we will take the first step - we will notice them. Next month when Mercury hits Black Moon Lilith on July 9th and again on July 27th when Venus does, we will be better able to deal with whatever is going on. We likely can't totally heal our wounded child/old childhood hurt, but we can stop re-enacting these painful stories through unconscious emotional reactions and start responding in more conscious and healthier ways.

And big changes are coming.

I should add Black Moon Lilith is a complicated archetype/energy - she can't be reduced to a 'wound', obviously, but seeing the root of her/our, often destructive and self-destructive behavior in this way is incredibly helpful.

THE ASTROLOGY OF BLACK MOON LILITH'S SQUARE TO JUPITER | ROE V. WADE AND THE NEW MOON IN CANCER - PART II

We started this conversation about Black Moon Lilith's lengthy square to Jupiter and her connection to next week's powerful New Moon in Part I - HERE.
At next week's New Moon in Cancer, the Moon/Sun conjunction will be exactly squaring Jupiter in Aries.
This is a BIG push to be brave/confident and take action to START SOMETHING THAT MATTERS TO US.
A challenge/wildcard, but also opportunity for healing at this New Moon is seen through Black Moon Lilith's conjunction with the New Moon as she (and the Sun) square Jupiter. The Sun/Moon will spotlight the wounded mother/child - the SHAME. The Moon and Sun will move on, but the square from Black Moon Lilith to Jupiter (in play for the last few weeks) will continue until the end of July.
Squares are dynamic aspects that create change. Something has to give. Both Jupiter and Black Moon Lilith each have a perspective that can't take in the whole picture.
This New Moon is about our childhood wound/mother wound. The ways we weren't seen or heard. The ways our needs were not accepted. There is a need at this New Moon to see/confront emotional FEAR. At this New Moon we will be able to see/feel what we do with this fear. Do we hide? Do we project it onto other people? Do we get sick? Do we entangle/manipulate? Do we take action? Do we get bloody freakin' angry? Can we allow our bodies to process/feel it without judging it?
Throughout the summer, as the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars move through Cancer, they will all meet up with Black Moon Lilith. We are in Cancer season already and the New Moon in Cancer comes in right out of the gate, so the overall vibe is emotional anyway and JUST GETTING STARTED. By the middle of July, Mercury will be in Cancer, too, (only for two weeks, this will be fast). Random conversations will quickly become intimate. We will find ourselves confiding in people, talking about our family. We could learn very personal information about people. We will be feeling what people are saying.
Part of the work of Black Moon Lilith in Cancer is dealing with/noticing the very old familial triggers that cause us to act out in extreme ways and sabotage ourselves.
His-tory and myth has turned Lilith into something deadly/dangerous. And this IS what happens to us when we are shamed for wanting something we are perfectly entitled to want. When Lilith was told to be less than she was, she refused. She held her own shape, and was banished into the night, cursed as the personification of evil.
Also keep in mind, there is another abandonment story even older than the story of Lilith.
That story is the origin story of our galaxy. It's the story of a cheating husband, an angry wife and a hungry baby. The baby (Hercules), birthed by another mother and held to angry wife's (Hera/Juno) breast by cheating husband (Zeus, Jupiter) and the lost mother's milk that flies out of her when she awakens to find another woman's baby to her breast. This spilled milk - which we've never been allowed to cry over - creates our galaxy, the Milky Way Galaxy of un-mothered children (the dishonor to the feminine becoming baby's dishonor).
The passion/obsession the "anti-Moon" Black Moon Lilith's shame/rage ultimately being about not only the woman's dishonor, but the screaming, hungry child's desire to return to the breast, TO STAY ALIVE.
It shouldn't be surprising, although it is, that during the United States Pluto return, a country with a Cancer Sun and a Jupiter ruled chart - Cancer ruling both mothers AND babies and Jupiter ruling the legal system - Roe V. Wade, the landmark 1973 court case that legalized abortion nationwide, has just been overturned in the United States.
This happens as transiting Black Moon Lilith - shamed for demanding body sovereignty/accused baby killer - squares transiting Jupiter - the Supreme Court.
The astrology is striking - transiting Black Moon Lilith is sandwiched between the United States natal Sun and natal Jupiter with the Sun on the United States natal Venus (women). Transiting Jupiter is on the AC of the Roe V. Wade 1973 chart while transiting BML is on the IC (!), transiting Pluto has just backed onto that chart's natal Mercury exact and ruling that chart's 8th house of death/endings. The original 1973 ruling is also having its Chiron (wounded healer) return.
The 1973 Roe v. Wade chart had a 22 degree Capricorn Jupiter (the degree killed off/transformed by Saturn/Pluto in January 2020, so legal precedent ripe for change) and BML tightly conjunct Neptune, in the Sagittarius 8th house, so answering to that newly transformed Jupiter.
Since the original 1973 chart's Mercury was exactly conjunct the United States natal Pluto this, too, is part of the shaking and quaking of the U.S. Pluto return.
And now, just as Venus has left Taurus - the sign she rules/is strong - and falls into dualistic Gemini (two roads ahead, two different sets of values, two different ways of seeing this) and starts answering to a strong Mercury (remember Pluto is on that 1973 Mercury and that 1973 Mercury was on the U.S. natal Pluto), with Black Moon Lilith (a symbol for BOTH women's sovereignty and killing babies) squaring Jupiter and the Sun/Moon applying to meet up with Black Moon Lilith (back on May 3rd when the Supreme Court's draft opinion overturning Roe V. Wade was leaked to the media sending shockwaves across the country, Venus in Aries was squaring Black Moon Lilith in Cancer) - the court tosses out the Roe v. Wade ruling/tosses the issue to the states.
With the North Node - our best way forward - in Taurus which is all about our values/new life/fertility and answering to Venus, ruler of women, the country is charged with figuring out how to move forward (Venus in dualistic Gemini now) .... with Mars squaring Pluto next week, we can expect an explosive beginning.
The real healing starts with clarity, with those who call themselves "pro-life" coming to an understanding that those who call themselves "pro-choice" are desperate to defend women's bodily autonomy and equality in the economic/social realms. And those who call themselves "pro-choice" understanding that those who call themselves "pro-life" are equally committed to protecting the rights of the unborn child/see abortion as murder.
Personally and collectively - self-acceptance is the key to our Black Moon Lilith wound.
There is a CLARITY that comes when our Black Moon Lilith shame is confronted/allowed to be accepted/seen for what it is - her anger/our inner child's hunger quelled. Once we understand the shame as the seat of the rage, maybe we can begin to clear lifetimes of residual debris from our soul's path.
Brene Brown has done alot of great work on healing shame. And David Hawkins, an amazing spiritual teacher, has determined, through muscle testing, that shame is the lowest emotion on the level of consciousness scale. Much lower than depression, anger or frustration. So, it would make sense that the point in the Moon's (emotions) orbit furthest from the Earth might also speak of the furthest/most deeply buried emotion.

THE ASTROLOGY OF THE INVASION OF UKRAINE | ECHOES OF FEBRUARY 2014, THE WEST'S SELF-CREATED MESS? CERES LAYS WASTE TO THE LAND TO GET HER DAUGHTER BACK PITCHING A DYING WORLD OFF HER AXIS

At 5:07AM EET on February 24, 2022, Russian troops invaded their neighboring country of Ukraine. We've talked briefly about connections to the charts of Russia, Putin, the United States, Biden and Ukraine HERE and HERE.
Let's look at the event chart for the moment the invasion began and see if we can get any ideas for where this might go.
This invasion started with Pluto within one second of the United States natal Pluto, which is rather insanely EXACT. The U.S. Pluto return - Pluto returning to his natal position for the first time since the Declaration of Independence was signed - is a BIG deal. And not just for the United States. Note we have two more exact dates in 2022, one in July with Pluto retrograde and the final exact date in late December. Both dates could relate to this conflict among other things. This doesn't mean, as some people worry, that the Russia/Ukraine conflict is bringing the world to a World War, but it is an ominous starting point.
The previous two World Wars (also the Vietnam War, the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars, the Falklands War) started with Saturn/Pluto aspects. Although 2020's exact Saturn/Pluto conjunction is no longer in play (thank God), this invasion started just as Mars reached 22 degrees Capricorn, which is where Saturn met Pluto (and the Sun and Mercury and Ceres) back in January 2020. I call this the "time runs out, power is cemented" degree (this is also the degree of China's natal Jupiter, so we'll keep that in mind, too).
Mars often acts as a TRIGGER when he reaches HOT degrees, triggering activations of old energetic signatures. He kind of pulls that Saturn/Pluto back into play. Not a good thing.
On February 24th, Mars had just barely eked past Venus (she was at 21 degrees Capricorn at the time of the invasion, Mars at 22) and was conjunct Vesta (sacred focus/what keeps us up at night) and asteroid Lachesis (one of the three "fates" and daughters of Zeus whose name means 'to obtain by fate, lot or divine will'). Note Zeus sits between Jupiter and the Sun in the invasion chart.
Venus will meet up with Mars again and pass Mars in early March - this might indicate peace talks/cooperative dealings coming pretty quickly (this might happen after we get past the Venus/Uranus on March 22nd or when she meets Saturn on the 28th). Mars and Venus will move into Aquarius TOGETHER and meet Ukraine's natal Saturn, at 1 degree Aquarius. The President of Ukraine, Zelenskyy, has a natal Sun/Venus conjunction at 5 degrees Aquarius and a natal Sun/Venus to Mars in Leo (showing courage) opposition being equally triggered. His chart is on fire/strongly challenged over the next couple weeks.
(the Full Moon in Leo, we talked about HERE "how kings fall" was tightly conjunct Zelenskyy's natal Saturn/authority and rules his 8th - death, 9th - foreign affairs and 10th - career houses)
Symbolizing the Aquarian fate playing out, the future/chaos/trauma/new leadership and also that whatever is 'put together' now, if something is - some kind of neutral status/non NATO being firmly established for Ukraine? some leadership of some part of Ukraine switching to Russia/Putin? - might once again 'die/transform' when Pluto moves into Aquarius in March 2023 and/or when Pluto reaches 1 degree Aquarius in March 2024.
Either way, I am sorry to say :( upcoming transits to their natal chart for 2023 look like it might be pretty challenging for Ukraine to remain Ukraine.
(Venus/Mars move into Aquarius could also indicate the battle moves into cyber warfare, but hopefully it speaks of cooler heads and new ideas.)
With Mars as a trigger rather than this happening on the Saturn/Pluto itself, maybe we are looking at something - the actual fighting/bombing/guns - of a short duration. The first few days of March when Mars is applying to and then hits Pluto - look especially dangerous.
This event chart, looks like the aggressor/starter has the advantage, although we know Putin's personal chart does not look satisfied, so what winning means here is uncertain.
The North Node on Algol (malevolent fixed star) speaks of leadership changes 'off with their head' among other things. The North Node's conjunction to Ceres (Mother Earth) - the North Node was also conjunct Ceres when Russia invaded Crimea in 2014 - speaks of land issues, the opportunity to make complicated concessions/to work out challenging compromises, maybe 'Mother Russia' herself with her natal Sun conjunct Ceres. In the myth, the Ceres/Pluto compromise deal was brokered by Jupiter - maybe China with that 22 degree Cappy Jupiter or the U.S. since she is a Sag rising country (ruled by Jupiter) can broker a compromise here.
Biden's North Node is exactly conjunct Ukraine's Sun, so this could somehow shine a light on his 'purpose' or indicate his fate is tied to Ukraine. Happening as the U.S. Pluto's clock strikes twelve, might indicate whatever is happening could further align Russia with China - maybe strengthening them and weakening the U.S. and allies. Surely what is happening is one result of America's changing power on the world stage, and at home, which is fated through the U.S. Pluto return. We'll talk more about some possibilities for this in part ll this week.
Putin certainly seized the moment.
Although keep in mind this whole 'who looks stronger/who looks weaker' hierarchy thing is part of the dying Cappy/old world order paradigm and thinking like this just keeps us mired in this dead zone.
(note China also has a big Pluto transit with transiting Pluto bearing down on their Ascendant and eventually their Moon - the people. Like the United States they also have an Aquarian Moon, China's Moon is an early degree, will be impacted years before the U.S. Moon. These Pluto transits will change the way they express in the world, their relationship with power, their relationships with allies and enemies and the status of those allies and enemies. Aspects within and secrets they have tried to suppress will come out. They could become more powerful or less, etc.)
The chart's activated Pluto speaks of everything from Plutocracies to Plutonium (Chernobyl is back in the news as well as European countries speaking of the need to maintain nuclear power plants. Pluto, ruler of 'everything buried' also rules oil, natural gas). Pluto is conjunct asteroid Amycus. Amycus connects to two characters in mythology. He was a brutal ruler with huge strength who left his enemies 'at the absolute disposal of the winner'. And he was a centaur of a similar ilk. In Asteroid Amycus's discovery chart he was in Aries opposed to the Libra Sun, so kind of a martial and likely dangerous lone wolf. Pluto/Amycus sounds very Putin-like.
The ruler of the event chart is Saturn (ruler of Capricorn and 'authority') - Saturn, the aggressor, is Russia here. Strong in the Aquarius 1st house, a sign he co-rules/ancient ruler with the Cappy planets - and Aquarius planets - answering to him.
The ruler of Ukraine is the Moon (ruler of Cancer and 'the people'). The Moon in the 10th (Saturn's natural house) is not so strong, is alone there in Sag - the house of foreigners, maybe put in this situation by foreigners or (Sag being a fire sign) armed by foreigners or even ending up as foreigners as some flee/emigrate. She trines Mercury - aided by press/communication/tech/the local environment. The Moon in fiery and hopeful Sag is answering to Jupiter, strong in Pisces. Ukraine gets some foreign (Jupiter) or legal help and strength from other countries. This will also be about compassion, charity, prayer, universal love, Piscean help - all will be important now. The Moon near the mid-heaven gives Ukraine strength, brings her situation to the world's attention. People around the world will feel what Ukraine (that 10th house Sag Moon) is feeling.
But Russia here, as Saturn, with all those Cappy planets answering to him looks hard to beat. Russia's natal Sun/Ceres making them a kind of 'Ceres' country (think of Mother Russia - that mama bear with a sickle) with transiting Ceres on the North Node also helps them here with timing.
The reason for the invasion can be seen through both the ascendant and MC. The ascendant in Capricorn speaks of tradition, things that are old (Ukraine was Russia), power, authority, things that are planned over time, property and land, the desire to leave a legacy, certainly the NATO/control issue for Putin, likely his desire for Russia to remain a 'super-power'. The MC is Scorpio - ruled by powerful Pluto - speaks of power, secrets, money, shared resources like oil/natural gas. Cappy and Scorpio are powerful signs - arguably the most powerful signs.
The question with Ukraine as the Moon (Ukraine in Sag and Sag ruler Jupiter in Pisces) is - how does how much the world cares about Ukraine compare to how much Russia/Putin cares about Ukraine?
That pile-up in the first house supports Russia, BUT Saturn being blown out by the Sun (widely conjunct Sun) speaks of Russia's leader's weakness (Putin) or maybe his invisibility (this is also repeating Russia's natal Sun/Saturn, so probably not so bad for them). Putin has a lonely 12th house natal stellium in Libra - the isolation from the Saturn/Pluto (virus) would contribute to his actions here.
And Putin has a natal 22 degree Pluto conjunct his South Node in Leo - an old life as a king/tsar/emporer, probably in Russia maybe in China, that he is powerfully re-enacting, possibly to his own detriment (the 22 degree master number is very powerful but has a self-sabotage possibility and we are in a lunar cycle connected to self-undoing), but almost certainly he would feel this as his destiny/fate. And keep in mind that 22 is a master number and Pluto is arguably the strongest planet - it doesn't have to self-destruct.
Putin's natal Pluto is conjunct his own South Node, China's Pluto and Russia's Mars. When I say Putin is playing Pluto I am not kidding!
Asteroid Gonggong (the Chinese monster/hero God conjunct the event chart's Sun and Ukraine's natal Moon) also pulls China into the mix. Gonggong's myth speaks of a kind of emotionally driven combativeness - Gonggong was ashamed to lose a fight and then pitched a fit that threatened to toss the world off her axis. Sounds a bit like an echo of the Ceres/Russia energy and all repeating patterns are what we need to be paying attention to.
Maybe when Venus passes Mars in early March or after whatever blow-ups Mars/Venus/Uranus bring mid-month, so after the 22nd - some kind of peace/agreements can be reached. All the inner planets are on a direct path to Saturn over the next few weeks (Saturn here being Russia, but also stability, sobriety, authority, rules, boundaries) which could help things stabilize, too, although likely at a cost - because in this chart, Saturn is Russia.
After Saturn, 'the cement is poured', events/deals will not be so easily undone. We are married to the future. Uranus squares will provide some twists and turns mid-March, but hopefully after Venus pulls ahead of Mars for in March, this will bring some kind of truce/peace/easing (Venus ruling the 4th house - end of the matter).
The U.S. Pluto return, and this invasion is clearly part of that, plays out throughout 2022, is designed to transform the United State's (AND THE WORLD'S) relationship with power and isn't so quickly wrapped up.
Russia will have the upper hand, but monetary sanctions, etc, will hurt them, note the charts 2nd house (money house) Chiron - wounding, and Neptune - dissolving funds and resources.
Looking back at the Crimea invasion chart on February 22, 2014, when Russia began their piece-meal take-back of Ukraine - ALMOST EXACTLY 8 years to the day of this invasion - we see MANY similarities.
Back then we had the Pluto/Uranus square of 2012-2015. On the day of the Crimea invasion we had Jupiter forming a tight T-Square (exact with Uranus) with the open leg filled in with Putin's Sun. We had Ceres/North Node on the MC just like we have now. In 2014 they were joined by Vesta and Mars. Asteroid Gonggong was once again tightly conjunct the chart's Sun. Venus was again at 21 degrees Capricorn - an uber powerful degree in history. She was squaring Mars and Mars was squaring EXACT the U.S. Pluto (so this event in 2014 would be connected to the U.S. Pluto return/likely loss of power, too). Jupiter, during the Ukraine invasion was conjunct Chiron in the Crimea chart. Chiron, during the Ukraine invasion was conjunct Uranus in the Crimea chart. We had a Pluto/Uranus then, we have a Saturn/Uranus now. Saturn was on the Moon in the Crimea chart. He is on the Ukraine natal Moon in this week's chart. Lots of connections.
The 2014 Crimea/Russia conflict ended with Russia annexing Crimea about a month after the invasion. Something like this is possible now, too.
But Putin doesn't have his Grand Cross this time and the karmic U.S. Pluto return is exact ...
(the extent to which this mess has been created by the U.S, in particular, but also her allies in the west/NATO will have a role in the outcome, too, as fate, via the Pluto return of the U.S. plays its hand).
THE ASTROLOGY OF THE INVASION OF UKRAINE | PART II - THE INVASION CHART MOVES INTO EARLY MARCH, A CHANGE OF FOCUS, WAR OF THE GODDESSES

Part I is HERE.
At the end of the post I will recap the invasion chart and bring it up to date, but first I wanted to talk about the role of the asteroids/Goddesses in the Ukraine/Russia story.
It's obvious to everyone who isn't living under a rock (and I do sometimes feel I am living under a rock or want to find a nice big, smooth one, but still with some wifi access, of course, to hide under for a few hours) it is obvious we are living through extraordinary and challenging times. I know our ancestors did, too, and their ancestors, also, but our current journey into the New Age, the Age of Aquarius is, I think, rather special.
One way we have to explore what is happening in the world and in our own lives is through astrology - the study of the way the planets connect to the people and events here on Earth. The way our blueprints/birthcharts, that were created into physical form through us when we drew our first breath, actually work. This isn't fortune-telling and I am no fortune-teller. Astrology is a language - it's about using patterns and archetypes to tell the story, to see what makes things tick, explore what might happen, make our lives better.
I always think if a story can't be told through the main chart - sans all the centaurs and dwarf planets it is probably the wrong story. That is still true, I think, and THAT story was told in Part I and Part II is at the bottom of this post. But, the key to unlocking the REAL meaning behind so much of what is going on in these complicated times might be found in the dwarf/minor planets. Discovered with perfect timing and synchronistically named for Goddesses, they carry the ancestral stories of our grandmothers; the dominant female DNA codes - maybe that junk DNA, the scientists are not wanting to think about. This is why so much of the world is making no sense. We are having to learn to trust something we have been taught doesn't even exist.
Since part of the fall of the patriarchy/emerging of the equality of the Age of Aquarius is about the re-discovery and appreciation of the Goddess energies - let's take this pivotal moment and tell the story through the Goddesses and see if we can learn anything new.
We are going to tell this story/see this chart through Ceres (conjunct Russia's Sun), Juno (conjunct Ukraine's ascendant), Vesta (conjunct Putin's ascendant), Black Moon Lilith (conjunct Putin's Pluto/South Node), Pallas, and, of course, the one Goddess the patriarchy allowed us to keep, our own benevolent Venus (conjunct invasion chart's ascendant).
Mother bear archetype Ceres, conjunct Russia's Sun and very prominent in Russian historical event charts, is Mother Russia here. Ceres nearly destroyed the entire world to get her daughter Persephone back from Pluto, but in the end a complicated compromise was brokered. Ceres speaks of situations outside our control, season of life issues (what has run its course/whose time has come) and can also activate complicated concessions/successful settlements. Ceres is conjunct the North Node in the invasion chart and opposing the South Node - an important part of the story/way forward.
The Moon in the invasion chart (remember the Moon was Ukraine) has a sextile to asteroid Juno. Putin was having his Juno return, with Juno returning back to his birth position at the time of the invasion and Juno is conjunct Russia's Moon (her past) - Ukraine and Russia have deep roots.
With Juno EXACT on Ukraine's ascendant we can say Ukraine is Juno. Juno was a protector of the state, especially women and ruled marriage and contracts/cooperative arrangements, but also the things we don't want to look at too closely in order to preserve a contract or maintain our power through powerful allies or situations (because remember Juno was always needing to overlook hubby Jupiter's indiscretions to maintain her own position, she was Queen of the Gods, because of her marriage to Jupiter, the King of the Gods). Probably something in this about Ukraine's relationship to the Jupiter ruled United States. In the invasion chart we have Juno sextiling (opportunity) the Moon, but the Moon squaring Jupiter, Juno's hubby, who is ruling the Moon in this chart. Still, here is another powerful Goddess who isn't afraid to fight and has been known to cut a deal.
Vesta was at 22 degrees Capricorn WITH God-of-War Mars when the invasion started. There is a sacred focus here/THIS is where our attention needs to be, and this week she moves into Aquarius crossing the 'new world' degree. If Ceres is Russia and Juno is Ukraine, then Vesta conjunct Putin's ascendant is Putin in the Goddess War. Her move into Aquarius on the 10th can change his focus, move his attention from the past to the future. Maybe make things more cyber, but also maybe clear his head/thinking, allowing him to take things less personally.
Another important dwarf planet connected to Putin is Black Moon Lilith. She was at 24 degrees Gemini squaring Neptune. Putin has Black Moon Lilith on his Pluto/South Node, so her energy is strong in his past
(Putin has the same nodal axis, North Node 20 degrees Aquarius, South Node 20 degrees Leo - as Catherine the Great, leader of Russia during the American Revolution days, Pluto is back there now for the first time, AND Catherine had a BML/Sun conjunction. Catherine's real name was Sophie. We have two asteroids with this name, one tightly conjunct Putin's natal Venus, ruler of his natal Sun/Saturn and the other tightly conjunct his natal Pluto. Catherine was also rumored to be promiscuous in life and disrespected for it after her death - very 'Lilith-like').
Black Moon Lilith speaks of the first "Eve" ejected from paradise for demanding equal status with Adam and then demonized. "Liliths" are often vilified as 'evil'/wrathful women who need to be exiled when what is really happening here is that the patriarchy has no intention of sharing power. This treatment feels like part of Putin's story to me/ he feels exiled. Seeing Putin as a monster in this story isn't going to help anyone.
Pallas was in Aries in the 2nd house of the invasion chart sextiling the Moon. Pallas in Aries is a strong war Goddess. Strategic. Smart. Her waning sextile to the Moon (Ukraine in the invasion chart) shows some readiness/preparation on their part. And, of course Eris is still at 23 degrees Aries. Shaking up the world. Sedna, the transformational Goddess, is sandwiched between Ceres and the North Node. She speaks of not only what we can't depend on, but counting on things being better than they turn out to be. Conjunct Ceres, I am connecting her energy to Russia here.
And, of course, our beloved Venus, having tried to save the world with her back and forth through Capricorn is on the ascendant of the chart. IS the event in a way. Venus, at 21 degrees Capricorn, having been outplayed, for the moment, by war-God Mars at master number 22 Cappy. The number 21 is a power number, too, though. In the iChing it is the hexagram of 'biting through' - what needs to happen to get to the truth/get to the 'beauty'.
When we come to the time of 'biting through' - resting content with appearances may be easier, but it is no longer enough.
We will have to see where this 'biting through' event leaves the world.
Some of the other important hexagrams we can think about - Saturn at 18 Cappy is 'corruption' - this is the chart ruler/Russia. In ancient China, ancestors angered by neglect would send sickness and misfortune. This is corruption in the iChing which is something like a curse. This is echoed by last week's journey of Venus and Mars through the underworld of Pluto. As they move into Aquarius on March 6th - we could be said to be PAST the curse/the curse has lifted (the story continues to be played out, but the underpinnings of the story are dead). The Moon at 7 degrees is 'the army' - this is Ukraine. This hexagram follows arguing and speaks of crowds of people, energies and resources gathering around a focal point of grievance - the emotions that begin as indignation become an inner reserve of strength.
Venus is also Zelenskyy (unsure of spelling) with his natal EXACT Venus/Sun. Transiting Venus will conjunct Zelenskyy's natal Sun/Venus on March 12th with Saturn EXACT on his mid-heaven and a stellium in his 9th house of foreigners - HUGE time/spotlight for him.
Now, let's go back and recap the invasion chart and then bring the chart up to date and see what we learn. To recap:
At the time of the invasion Capricorn was rising over Ukraine. The ruler of Capricorn (the aggressor here) is Saturn, so we read this chart as Saturn is Russia. Saturn is about authority, the father, boundaries, rules. Saturn was in Aquarius in the 1st house. As the ancient ruler of Aquarius, he is strong here, and there was, at the time of the invasion, a bundle of planets in Capricorn and Aquarius answering to him. He is squared by Uranus - rebellion, individuals - and squared by the mid-heaven - the world, reputation. So, Russia is troubled by revolutionaries and the world at large, but he is strong in the chart. Not without his problems though with those squares.
The 7th house (opposite the ruler/ascendant) is Cancer, so the ruler of Ukraine is the Moon.
The Moon is about emotions, the mother, home, family, in mundane charts like these the Moon rules 'the people'. Both Saturn and the Moon are about the past, so we know already whatever is happening has very old roots. The Moon was in Sagittarius in the 10th house. The 10th house, Saturn's natural house is not a good place for the Moon. But Sagittarius pulls in fiery emotions, optimism, hope, faith, an ability to bond with foreigners, adjust to changing circumstances, the Moon's need for space if the Moon feels smothered. In Sagittarius the Moon is answering to Jupiter, strong in Pisces, his own ancient rulership. Jupiter pulls in Piscean help - ancestral help, prayers, compassion and Jupertarian help - foreign aid, hope, faith, etc.
The chart looked better for Saturn (Russia). The 'end of the matter' landed in Taurus which rules land/resources/money and answers to Venus, who was in Capricorn answering to Saturn. More 'Saturn wins' kind of energy. But what does winning mean in this nightmare? And Venus has already left Capricorn, so Saturn/Russia has already lost some advantage here. By April 5th, Venus will be in Pisces and answering to Jupiter (Ukraine). But that feels like a long time away for the people of Ukraine ...
As they move into Aquarius, they cross over 0 degrees Aquarius TOGETHER, now this is the OTHER HOT degree from our world-changing 2020, this time from the end of 2020/winter solstice when Jupiter met Saturn and "the world started up again" (whatever our personal thoughts about the vaccines are, collectively we can think "vaccine" here). So, that 0 degrees Aquarius is now infused with this kind of imperfect and controversial "new world" energy, and Mars has NOT been here since that degree was activated. This week, Venus will be ahead of Mars (only by seconds, but that's all it took for Mars to do his job, maybe that's all it will take for Venus - when Venus pulls ahead of Mars is our first real chance for peaceful negotiations, prayers for an early end to this nightmare).
Keep in mind this degree was activated by JUPITER and SATURN and those are the planets ruling Ukraine and Russia in the invasion chart.
Maybe this week, as Venus pulls ahead and both Mars and Venus move into the sign of the future we will have some real energy focused on SOMETHING NEW. Cooler heads can prevail. Smarter. Future-focused. Yes, Mars in Aqua will likely pull in cyber warfare tactics, but Venus will get to everything before he does, which should make him less damaging/make whatever is happening somehow more helpful (keeping in mind energies seek balance and karma and are not so concerned with right and wrong). Venus wants to bring peace, cooperation, balance. And she rules the 4th house/end of the matter in the invasion chart, so we know this is how this ends, we just don't know when or what has to happen before we get there.
Before Mars and Venus join hands and jump into Aquarius, Mercury (in Aquarius) is going to square the Nodes of Fate. Mercury in the invasion chart was squaring Uranus and sextiling Chiron, so bringing challenging, (#unexpected,#not totally unexpected) news, that was both traumatic and at the same time also healing some very old wounds. Mercury in Aquarius is exactly squaring the North Node in Taurus and the South Node in Scorpio. Mercury rules the 5th house (which can be kind of reckless) and the 8th house (death, transformation) of the invasion chart, so words/information are going to be crucial/tense/frustrating.
Some kind of corner must be turned before Mars and Venus move from earth into air (Cappy to Aqua). Let's pray this leans into Taurus, the North Node and chart's 4th house of family, home and country prioritizing that and not stay stuck in that Scorpio 10th house of reputation, competition, the cold-headed/cold-hearted terms of winner-take-all capitalistic 'success'.
On March 9th, Mercury moves into Pisces, the 2nd house (money, resources, self-esteem) of the invasion chart, so those dwindling resources as the result of the invasion will be more strongly felt. Talked about. Taken into consideration. Conversations/negotiations can drift off course. But maybe words can become more compassionate. Boundaries loosen.
On March 10th, Vesta is going to move into Aquarius - the future will be more strongly valued than the past now. What lies ahead of us/the new world (she crosses 0 degrees Aqua here, too) is keeping us up at night, becomes our sacred focus instead of worry about the old world/old goals. Remember Putin IS Vesta in the Goddess chart, so his focus can change now.
On March 12th, Zelenskyy's chart is getting lots of attention - transiting Venus on his Sun/Venus, followed by transiting Mars with Saturn on his mid-heaven (recognition, effectiveness) AND Saturn on Putin's North Node (destiny). Big week here as this stuff builds, hits and unwinds.

THE UNITED STATES PLUTO RETURN | FEBRUARY 22, 2022 | PART I - THE NARCISSISTIC WOUND IS WHERE THE LIGHT GETS IN, PUTIN PLAYS PLUTO

I wanted to write about 2/22/22's, 22 degree Neptune sextile a 22 degree Vesta (the dream being made real through our sacred FOCUS and commitment or maybe our focus lightens up a bit and that's a good thing) and also our high-minded Mercury making his third of three meetings with Juno (partnership agreements, successful/future-focused conversations with partners, negotiating without taking things too personally) and I guess, there, I just did write about it :) but am pulled to finally look at the U.S. Pluto return, a repeating aspect with its first of three exact hits TODAY.
And, of course, the Neptune/Vesta and the Mercury/Juno, coupled with a Pluto ruling Scorpio Moon whose closing aspect tomorrow is an opportunistic sextile to Pluto himself adds some good and interesting insights into today's Pluto return event chart.
Let's dig in!
On February 22, 2022 Pluto will, for the first time, return to its natal position in the United States birth chart. He will be back here again on July 11th during his summer retrograde and then for a final pass, moving direct, on December 28th. I think with the United States playing such a powerful role in the world, this will have a global significance.
The U.S. birth chart, also known as the Sibley chart, was charted by Ebeneezer Sibley (with a name like Ebeneezer Sibley I somehow have a hard time doubting his thoroughness), a British astrologer and Freemason back in 1776 when word of the signing of the Declaration of Independence reached Britain. It is set for July 4, 1776 at 5:10PM in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is universally used and I have used it for research on multiple important events in United States history and it hasn't let me down.
Astrological knowledge almost certainly went into the time the document was signed. The U.S. forefathers crafted a beautiful chart (with interesting connections to editor Benjamin Franklin's own chart, including the U.S. Pluto - which they couldn't see - exact on Ben Franklin's natal Sun). Since Pluto returns to his natal position about every 247 years (one orbit around the Sun), we won't live to see our own Pluto returns, although I would suspect strong ancestral connections/past life story-lines that connect now to our lives/familial lines in the 1700's, 1500's etc.
A planet's return to his natal position resets/triggers the role that planet plays in the blueprint of the event chart or birth chart. For example every year every person has a Solar Return, when the Sun returns to the position (degree/second of the zodiac) he occupied when we were born - this will be within a day or so of our birthday. This resets/triggers/influences our new year. Sometimes people familiar with astrology and not liking their Solar Return chart will travel on their birthday into a different time zone to get something they see as more favorable
(I am not such a fan of this idea, but was strongly tested this year with a Sun/Saturn exact conjunction in the 12th house in my solar return chart (!) - I think better to work with what we have, since it's nearly certain the energies that created our blueprints know more than we do and we might avoid something that mucks up the future .. you get the idea).
Usually with a triple hit - like this one in the United States, because Pluto due to his retrograde will walk this degree multiple times - the first pass is the big whammy, although when we look at the transits for these specific days, that summer hit with Mars on the U.S. natal Uranus, looks pretty explosive. Another near date to watch for is when Mars (always a trigger) crosses 27 degrees Capricorn (with Venus - she is undoubtedly helping) on March 4th.
Pluto rules Scorpio, our collective 8th house and such themes as life/death, power, big finances, nuclear energy, Plutocrats, sex, fertility, our sexual organs, bowels, elimination, third party situations, secrets, things that are hidden, the stuff we don't want to look at/talk about in polite company. Pluto transits bring transformational changes, death and rebirth and situations that activate 'before and after' life altering circumstances. Even if we want to go back to the way things were before the Pluto transit, we can't, the 'back there' isn't back there anymore.
You can understand why, unlike astronomers, astrologers can see there is no 'demoting' Pluto.
Power and how we deal with power is a MAJOR Plutonian issue for us at both an individual and a group level.
Pluto, God of the underworld, rules the stuff we have stuffed. The shadow self - the real self we buried to survive. His themes include guilt, resentment, control, revenge, manipulation, jealousy, etc. There is often a kind of 'horror story' connected to our personal natal Pluto placement AND the stuff we carry in our 8th house. It's a childhood story, yes, but the reason we magnetized it to us in childhood in the first place is because of an even deeper ancestral/past life horror story. The same energy of a 'horror story', which might sound too harsh, but I'm thinking maybe it isn't, applies to the birth charts of countries, too.
Pluto was discovered on February 18, 1930 - a somber decade that began with the Great Depression and ended with World War II. Pluto speaks of karma and his return speaks of the death/birth of karmic cycles. With a second house 27 degree Pluto in Capricorn answering to Saturn in the 10th, we would most likely be looking at major changes in government structure, U.S. power in the world, finances, resources, values and self-esteem.
We could say this started when the Declaration of Independence was signed. We could say this got moving when Pluto was discovered in 1930. We could say this clicked into gear in 2008 when Pluto moved into Capricorn. We could say this kicked into HIGH gear in 2020 when Pluto moved within orb of the United States natal Pluto.
Pluto is in the United States second house which rules - money, our values, our self-esteem. In Capricorn, he is answering to Saturn in the United States 10th house and Saturn in Libra is answering to Venus in the 7th in Cancer, pulling in the United States Aquarius Moon/Uranus on the descendant. Pluto opposes the U.S. natal Mercury who rules that Uranus in Gemini and is answering to the Moon. So, we've got the 2nd house (money, values, self-esteem), 10th house (career, public life, reputation), 7th house (partners, open enemies), 8th house (death, big money, power, transformation), 6th house (health, work) all connected via these dispositors. I think with Libra/Venus ruling the U.S. prominent 10th house and both Venus's (collectively ruled) houses activated - the 2nd and 7th - a general theme of women/feminine energy and balance is also pulled into the mix.
The United States is also having a natal Neptune opposition at the same time.
Transiting Neptune at 22 Pisces is opposing the United States natal Neptune at 22 degrees Virgo AND this makes a T-Square with the U.S. natal Mars in Gemini. Transiting asteroid Narcissus is at 22 degrees Libra exactly squaring the U.S. natal Narcissus at 22 Capricorn right now (yes, of the time runs out/power is cemented' January 2020 astro infamy). 22 is a powerful master number/THE powerful number of mastery and the Neptune opposition is an 82 year cycle and brings us back to the United States Civil War (and a time when people were saying the telegraph was "too fast for the truth").
This Neptune opposition was always going to be a HUGE deal and happening at the same time as the U.S. Pluto return really amps things up!
We have to start somewhere, so we'll go back to the end of 2008, when Pluto moved into Capricorn for the first time since the 1700's 'waking up' the U.S. natal Pluto. It was November, we had just elected Obama to his first term here in the United States. The world economy was collapsing under the weight of the housing crisis. Obama's 27 degree Capricorn natal Narcissus starts triggering the U.S. natal Pluto, which remember is also at 27 degrees Capricorn (this is also the degree of Abraham Lincoln's Moon).
We will talk about this in Part II along with Obama, Trump, covid, Biden, the asteroids including Narcissus and Icarus - all part of the U.S. Pluto return. And the U.S. Pluto return is part of our collective journey into the Age of Aquarius. It is hard to separate these things from each other right now. The U.S. has a 27 degree Moon in Aquarius (the people - exactly semi-sextile Pluto). Before Biden, we had 28 years in a row of Presidents with tight natal North Node (fate)/Uranus (Aquarius) conjunctions (Biden has a tight North Node/Chiron - wounded healer - conjunction).
Based on the current news - keep in mind the U.S. Mercury opposes the U.S. Pluto - someone else who appears to be playing a major role in at least this first leg of the U.S. Pluto return is Vladimir Putin.
(It wouldn't be hard to imagine Putin releasing an incorrect public birth-date, maybe to throw off astrologers, maybe to make himself younger than he actually is and I used to wonder about his Scorpio rising chart, which seemed off for someone with such an unchanging face - Scorpio risings, and the other water signs to some degree, often look quite different from one photo to the next - although it's very early degree, the invention of Botox and how scrupulously he maintains his image of invincibility could be impacting this. He does seem like a Pluto/Mars ruled kind of guy. Comparing his chart and events in his life it does seem possible to me that it is accurate and it's all we have, so we'll take a look.)
Putin (a close-ish anagram for Pluto with a similar pronunciation) has a chart-ruling Pluto, tightly conjunct his South Node (past life/strong affiliation with Plutonian/forceful power) with the conjunction situated on his mid-heaven in Leo. He comes off as quite a Plutonian character with a secretive/deadly serious/'king of the underworld' kind of vibe. In Leo, Pluto is answering to his Libra Sun which, along with his Saturn, bookends the U.S. natal 10th house Saturn (world authority). His Sun is answering to his first house Libra Venus conjunct asteroid Icarus and trines his Uranus (his chaos/trauma planet conjunct the U.S. Sun). Putin's powerful Mars is conjunct the Galactic Center and trines his natal Pluto. His Pluto is at master number 22 degrees and inconjunct the U.S. natal Narcissus and transiting Neptune and sextiles the U.S. natal Neptune.
Maybe making Putin a kind of human linchpin pulling the U.S. Pluto return and Neptune opposition together. But with Neptune (and Putin) it's hard to know what is real here. We talked about the Russia, Ukraine, Biden charts in the Full Moon in Leo/how kings fall post HERE.
