With the challenging retrogrades and eclipses of March and April in our rearview mirror, this week looks like a bit of a breather. Whew! Let's exhale :)
In two weeks, Saturn is going to move into Aries for the first time in 28 years. He will be a hair's breadth from Neptune who moved into Pisces last month for the first time in over 150 years. They officially meet up in February 2026, but they will be so close this month they can smell each other's toothpaste.
Oh, and Saturn will have Ceres/Mother Earth with him.
(Ceres will later station retrograde in Aries, but unlike Venus, Mercury, Saturn and Neptune, Ceres' retrograde will not take her back into Pisces - no better ending needed for Mother Earth it seems, she will only be revising her own fiery fresh start)
Bigger picture to keep in mind - we are in a very rare time in history when every planet packs his/her bags and changes signs within an incredibly short period of time - marking this as a time of unprecedented change. Collectively, we have never seen anything like it. Many of these planets will return to the old signs during retrogrades, so it won't be until the end of 2026 when all the back and forth is finished and we can see/feel where we are. This doesn't put us in a holding pattern, we are still intended to be moving forward, but, for example, when Pluto stationed retrograde yesterday at 3 degrees Aquarius he is exactly where he will be in October 2026. There is going to be alot of back and forth.
Many of the planets have been and will be going back into Pisces (the final sign) - to get a better ending, to remember the old dream, to dissolve the old grief.
If we can't make some kind of peace with the past - if we can't allow this old grief and disappointment to dissolve (we have multiple chances), we will just pull it along with us into the "new" of Aries. Instead of the compassionate masculine energy (and this starts with having compassion for the masculine) getting stronger with Neptune in Aries, the sacred rage of the collective will be stronger/have more from us to work with. There are things in life worth fighting for, but we don't always have to grow and bond through trauma. Sacred rage makes for an idealistic war/battle and we can see how this will go. I have people furious and disappointed in me because I am not more furious and disappointed. Think about the way the energies are taking us into Aries and then pulling us back into Pisces again and again. We are feeling it (anger, fear, passion) and then bringing it back into the waters of Pisces (the last sign) - releasing it, giving it to God/Goddess, forgiving, forgetting - and then coming back into Aries (the first sign) being washed clean.
We want to hold space/have faith that there is some other way. We don't have to know what that way is. All or nothing/black or white thinking, us vs them is what is keeping us stuck.
The Mars/Pluto battle is, and has been, such a freaking battle because we have off-shored our power. If we were standing in our power as sovereign human beings, we would not be feeling that someone outside of ourselves is doing something to us. This is how we know we have abdicated our own thrones. If we weren't looking for a king, we wouldn't find one.
Other than the Full Moon in Scorpio on the 12th (and even that Moon ends with a nice trine to Saturn) and a couple other tensions mid-month, most of May's aspects are smooth/opportunistic.
For now, let's look at this week's transits.
On MONDAY - TUESDAY - Mercury sextiles Jupiter and Pallas, Ceres conjunct North Node, Juno trine Ceres, Venus sextiles Pluto, Mercury conjuncts Chiron
The Moon is in fiery Leo on Monday morning, making a square to Uranus in the morning EDT - expect changes to your plans, some tension and frustration. Then the Moon will be void until 3:40PM EDT. Void Moons are kind of 'floaty'. Times gets stretchy. Good for routine tasks and things we have done before and probably will do again. Once the Moon gets into Virgo and for the next couple days it will feel good to be organized, to cross our t's and dot our i's, to take care of the small things.
Mercury, closing out his days in fiery Aries sextiles Jupiter in Gemini and Pallas in Aquarius and then catches up with Chiron in Aries.
This is optimism and boldness and can bring WORDS that are healing. This is about fiery conversations. BUSY-NESS. The sextile to Juno pulls in logic and strategy/thoughts of the future. Jupiter/Pallas are making a trine, too, but it doesn't ever reach exactness, so there could be something here that doesn't quite pan out/reach its target, BUT there is still an effort here that should be made - info that needs to reach its target, a conversation that wants to happen.
The Mercury/Chiron lets us know that old wounds are part of the story. Aries tells us that BLUNT WORDS might be necessary and whether we are the one saying them or hearing them - the sextile to Jupiter and trine to Pallas, says that, yes, they can be helpful. Bad news can be good news, too, if you see what I mean. Be brave. Take it "like a man", "on the chin". Information/insights that trigger old wounds around our ability to take care of ourselves and be ourselves can come in. Diplomacy and flowery language is not going to be as healing/helpful, although, yes, the words/information might hurt at first. When words come through Aries it is often because they are intended to wake us up, motivate us or stir us to action. By the end of the week as Mercury changes signs - the conversation changes, too.
Ceres, who I somehow lost track of in Pisces (!) catches up with the North Node of Fate today (our best path forward). Ceres is about mothering and nurturing and change of life situations/transitional cycles, nature, food. So maybe it is our best path forward to provide Piscean style-nurturing. No strings attached or unconditional nurturing/mothering. Nurturing through art/music. Nurturing through PRAYER. In Pisces, we may have to make a sacrifice. We might be asked to give something up. Ceres is opposing the South Node in Virgo where i's are required to be dotted and t's crossed and things must make sense, so this might NOT make sense. We might have to move away from work and toward rest or be in a transition cycle that supports this.
Ceres is in a smooth/brakes off trine with Juno. Juno is about our marriage/closest relationships, our contracts and commitments. Juno is also about the power/security we get from other people and situations. Juno is backtracking through Scorpio double checking all the details, looking under the hood, digging up the dirt, running the numbers. Trines are smooth flow, so this nurturing future or change of life cycle that is more Piscean ie artistic, connecting, spiritual, prayerful, compassionate, forgiving, RESTFUL is in a smooth flow with partners/contracts.
(This would be a good time for Ukraine/Russia, Zelensky/Putin to work something out even if with the Mercury/Jupiter things look and sound better than they turn out to be. In the Goddess Wars - Russia is Ceres and Ukraine is Juno, Zelensky is Venus moving forward, but in her detriment, Putin is Pluto backing up and the U.S. is Jupiter. moving forward, but in his detriment.)
At the same time Venus, also in fiery Aries, reaches her sextile to Pluto - keep in mind most of these energies are in play all week and I am writing about them when they are most exact.
We had this same aspect last month with Venus retrograde and Pluto direct and now they have both reversed directions. This could be a fast moving financial/relationship opportunity that requires some kind of commitment. Maybe we have been here before.
The MIDDLE OF THE WEEK - the Moon is in Libra. We are nurtured through social activities, balance, relationships, women, beauty. She opposes ruler Venus on Thursday, so there could be some tension/frustration then, but then she sextiles Mars, so we just keep going.
On SATURDAY - the Moon is void most of the day off an early morning trine to Jupiter from Libra before she moves into Scorpio in the late afternoon and begins making a series of squares and oppositions over the next couple days. We might expect some tension and frustration Saturday night and Sunday. It's not really until Tuesday when Luna will trine Saturn (all's well that ends well?) and then start making better aspects from Sagittarius that whatever this is that culminates or comes to light with Monday's Full Moon lets up.
Saturday is also the day Mercury enters Taurus. In general, every year, as Mercury exits Aries, in some way the 'war of words' is over. Communications and thinking turn to practical things. The pace slows. It's back to basics. Taurus gets results through self-sufficiency, by bringing ideas and concepts 'down to earth', by being sensible. Information and the physical world are adjusting to each other.
This is not the time to enact complicated plans unless we want to make ourselves (and everyone else) cray-cray. Better to drill down to the fundamentals now.
The fly in the ointment with Mercury in Taurus has always been its fixed nature. One of the reasons for the information slowing down is that everyone becomes entrenched in their position and digs in. Compromise becomes a four letter word and there aren't alot of choices. The answer is either yes or no, there is no maybe with Taurus.
Note - Mercury will be in Taurus until May 25th when he/she comes home to Gemini. The aspects around that time look especially beneficial.
Then NEXT MONDAY, May 12th - and we will feel this start to build this weekend, we have a Full Moon at the powerful 22nd degree of Scorpio. This will be happening with Scorpio's modern ruler, Pluto (retrograde) in a square to Mercury. This can bring up secrets/things we don't want to deal with and once we 'know' we can't 'unknow'. Information that has been dug up/come to light will push us to take action and make changes. There could be power struggles, intimacy issues and merged money situations. The Sun will be in a sextile to the North Node and the lunation will close out with a trine to Saturn, so the conclusion here looks like it lines up with our best path forward (when we take some kind of action), gives us more agency/limits can be helpful and makes us feel more stable., but it will take some frustration to get us there. We will unpack this in its own post!
MAY 12TH - FULL MOON IN SCORPIO, Mercury square Pluto - looks challenging, starts to build the weekend of the 10th
MAY 15TH - Sun sextile North Node
MAY 16TH - Ceres enters Aries
MAY 17TH - Sun conjunct Uranus
MAY 18TH - Jupiter sextile Chiron, Jupiter square North Node, Mercury square Mars

xo all - back with the Full Moon, Saturn in Aries and the Pope's Moon recap!

I was feeling less than confident before I started my daily writing period for the story I'm working on. Surprise -- it went amazingly well
I am sure it is and will be incredible. Your poetry - always so good, always wakes me up, always make me feel something, always make me remember
