THE ASTROLOGY OF 2020 - THE YEAR TIME RUNS OUT

 Some posts from 2020:

SATURN CONJUNCT PLUTO | JANUARY 12, 2020 - IS POWER CEMENTED OR TRADITIONS DESTROYED, MAYBE BOTH IS HAPPENING AT THE SAME TIME, THE NUCLEAR MISSILE

Today we have:

Saturn conjunct Pluto (22 degrees Capricorn)
Mercury conjunct Pluto
Mercury conjunct Saturn
Moon (in Leo) inconjunct Mercury, Saturn and Pluto
Ceres conjunct Pluto
Ceres conjunct Saturn
Ceres conjunct Mercury
Eris (23 Aries) squaring everybody

We talked about these dynamics for the last couple years and in the monthly HERE and in the Eclipse post HERE.

There are two basic ways this could be playing out in our lives and in the collective.

1. limits/rules/authority is transformed - death (Pluto) of tradition (Saturn - the patriarchy)
or 2. authority (Saturn) is cemented - because this is happening in Saturn's sign - authority is made more powerful (Pluto)

And we may think we know what is happening, but with so many cycles ending/beginning with these conjunctions it will be hard to know.

What is really happening is we have both of these things going on at the same time.

With Mercury in the middle of all of this, the closed door meeting Saturn/Pluto might usually demand isn't going to be allowed.

Important news/information, intense communications and conversations will accompany this.

Mercury in Capricorn is straightforward. We will have the information we need. Keep in mind once we know, we can't un-know (or behave as if we don't know) - Plutonian changes are permanent.

This isn't going to just go away. Things aren't just going to go back to normal.  Because normal has shifted.

With Ceres involved there will be things outside our control here. Cycle of life issues will be activated/enforced. Ceres being Mother Nature means earth changes. Earthquakes/volcanoes/climate change. Mothering/nurturing issues (I had a Ceres/Pluto transit when I lost my beloved dog Olive last year and it was overwhelming, so if you have some major loss now you will need to give yourself plenty of time and space to grieve).

Happening at the same time as the waning inconjunct (rock and a hard place) of the Leo Moon to the Sun (with that Cappy pile-up conjunction), there will be something uncomfortable here that will require an adjustment. Maybe between authority/power and our Leo house theme or the collective Leo themes of - our ego/pride, creativity, children, our natural spotlight, passion, romance, recreation, our heart. It might feel that we just can't win.

The Saturn/Pluto conjunction is uber powerful. They last met in Libra is the early 80's (here's an interesting article on how power became unbalanced THEN - this was also the time of the Berlin wall coming down, cold war, nuclear energy, AIDS) and haven't met in Capricorn in over 500 years.

With the United States having her Pluto return in 2022 (first since 1776) as well as her Uranus return and Neptune squaring her natal position - during the 2020's we are in the throes of the energetics we had during the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and World War II - crisis/opportunity.

Life on planet Earth has never been for sissies.

For us, for now, what do we do? Well, we need to take care of our physical selves. We need to prioritize our supportive relationships. We need to focus on what is starting and not on what is ending. With Jupiter (our most beneficial collective energy) in Capricorn, too, and going to move through these degrees later on - we need to have faith. If things are challenging now we need to know that better, brighter days are ahead of us.

We need to step into our own power and responsibility and probably alot of what is happening in our lives that feels like limits and authority clamping down is pushing us to this space of self empowerment/self mastery.

We need to step up and into the energy of our Capricorn houses.

I am going to write a post by sign and here's an example for:

SCORPIO/SCORPIO RISING - this major, once in a lifetime event, is happening in Capricorn your 3rd house of communication, information, writing, teaching, learning, siblings, transportation and your local neighborhood. Pluto rules Scorpio so your Scorpian powers are getting an upgrade (ability to see what is beneath the shiny exterior of things, etc). Saturn will require that you work hard/use your powers responsibly. Paperwork/what you sign/commit to will matter. Scorpians are more comfortable operating in the shadows, but this is going to require you showing up, connecting with your local world and COMMUNICATING. You will step into your power and authority through your voice. The 3rd house is a fast moving space of ideas and and communication and commerce. We'll talk about this more in a post by sign.

The degree of 22 Capricorn is getting a major upgrade/upheaval. People with planets or points between 21-23 degrees of Cappy (and even the other cardinal signs through squares and oppositions) will feel the truth of this. Plutonian changes are permanent. The sky will be the limit here, as long as we are moving forward and not looking backward - which is a wasteland now. We could feel ungrounded because there is no grounding here (or we could be very grounded having prepared for this change from a space of mastery), but over time, and especially over the next two years, as we step into a more authentic power we will be astounded with what we can accomplish.

Back later with a post by sign.

Keep in mind with Mercury involved in all of this the information/communications that are coming in now - past few days/next few days - are SIGNIFICANT. Things might seem unexpected, but if we are honest with ourselves nothing that is happening now is anything we haven't been given notice about a long time ago.

Also keep in mind the waning trine to Neptune (powerful in his home sign, too) - we step into our power/responsibility - and this does NOT mean taking on other people's problems or committing to things that go against ourselves - and that's when the MAGIC happens.

THE ASTROLOGY OF 2020 | PART II - A VERY LONG AND COMPLICATED CHAPTER ABOUT THE UNWINDING OF THE PATRIARCHY, THE BUILDING OF THE AGE OF AQUARIUS (THE AGE OF THE PEOPLE) AND HOW WE DEAL WITH POWER PERSONALLY AND COLLECTIVELY CONTINUES ....

https://www.deviantart.com/art-de-viant/art/dream-168235587

Part I is HERE.

I am going to do a post by sign, but let's take a step back first.

Where we are right now astrologically - is not that different from where we were in the winter/spring of 2018 - so why is so much changed?

One of the major differences between then and now, is last year when Saturn and Pluto were very, very close to each other - they had the South Node with them. The South Node is what we are leaving behind/what we have outgrown even though it may still feel comfortable. It opposes the North Node which is like a collective North Star - where our Earth family energy is heading - our best path for growth, and it asks us to do/feel things that are new to us, that make us uncomfortable.

So in 2019 we had the "beginning of the end".

At the same time Jupiter in his home sign of Sagittarius was offering everyone some opportunities - somewhat diluted or not as good as they seemed/or as good as we hoped - stimulated by his ongoing square to Neptune - but there were opportunities. Jupiter always does his job.

Then Saturn and Pluto stationed retrograde (April 2019) - we had major hints about what was to come, but for the most part (for those people activated by this Capricorn story) the death was postponed, maybe we had time to clean up our mess; to get our ducks in a row - maybe to prevent a big-bang style ending, but more likely to prepare ourselves for it.

Because keep in mind with these major energies - we are talking about major FATED endings, commitments/contracts ending (from many lifetimes and from our ancestors) and major course corrections to get us back on track; to lean us toward where we will be needed in the future - this stuff was in play whether or not we could see this happening.

Then our actions over the summer set our course - were we letting go or holding on, had we stepped into our own power or were we in a situation where someone else/outside authority was running our show.

Then in September and October, Saturn and Pluto stationed direct - for many people, now here was the death that was postponed. Powerful endings and changes. Now, not everyone was feeling this stuff in the same way - these are collective energies. But many people can probably relate to this.

I am seeing/feeling all of this as a collective, "humbling". In order for this patriarchal energy to shift, lots of us have committed - on a higher level and through the re-balancing of our 3D karma - to fall.

Probably many people lost/changed jobs in the last year, lost their voices in the world/the old ways they used their authority, our Cappy house themes would be life's field of play. We'll talk more about this as we move our conversation about 2020 through the signs.

Now, move ahead to January 2020 (and the end of December 2019 when the Eclipse cycle started) - badass Saturn finally meets badass Pluto - at a time when so much else is happening it is almost unbelievable!

Now we are all feeling the shaky ground.

For some, the other shoe drops. For some, the pebble they got hit with last year is now a rock. If we haven't course-corrected we could be dealing with big changes now - the messes we didn't clean up, the stuff we didn't want to deal with or pushed under the rug might be hitting us over the head.

Others are dealing with a great deal of anger or regret or grief about what they have lost.

Still others are standing up now and stepping into their responsibility; into their own power. Maybe having to step away from tradition. Maybe even having to fight city hall!

It could have felt like our home, family, mother, mothering, a real estate situation, home/family business, country was threatened.

Pluto/Saturn is really a very long and very old story- as old as time itself - about how we deal with POWER.  Questions about how powerful we were then and how powerful we are now come up. Seasons of life issues/things outside our control with Ceres there. Maybe other people took over, while we tried to push back. If we were not personally affected in 2019, people close to us most likely were, so we could experience this through our relationships to them.

It may look like in 2019 we found out how powerful we are/aren't, but in reality it will be 2020 when we find out just what we are truly made of.

With all this Cappy energy, we don't get to skip any steps. We are probably going to need to save more and spend less and work within limits. And abide by rules. We are going to have to walk out talk and justify our confidence. This will continue.

Another difference between last year and this year and this is the difference between night and day is that now instead of that karmic South Node, we get Jupiter - our benevolent Santa Claus - moving through Capricorn.

He is going to work his magic by bringing us hope, optimism, expansion, answers, opportunities, win-wins and a path to a more authentic empowerment by the end of 2020.

With Jupiter now on the South Node, here is where the goodies earned through our Cappy house (by us in this life, previous lives and our ancestor's lives), but never delivered to us, can show up.

Jupiter on the South Node also helps us/requires us to release outdated beliefs and traditions. With the South Node moving into Sagittarius in May - this is going to be an eighteen month process.

And, as we move forward through 2020 and Jupiter moves off the South Node - Jupiter in Capricorn will become more and more about our next chapter - what we are building. And keep in mind in mythology Jupiter, brother of Pluto and son of Saturn - bestest both of them.

2020 is a foundational year; a BUILDING year.

If we can work our way through some of our limiting beliefs/fears, and we are and will - we have lucky Jupiter to help us!

We are halfway through January - the January Eclipse cycle is over and what did we learn?

Well, we didn't get into a full blown war - thank God and that trine to Neptune - that is very good news, obviously, because did the possibility exist (?) - well, I don't know, maybe, the astro was totally hairy!

But we did get very, very stressed/fearful energy coming at us very, very fast - and then things calmed down, so we could find this a repeating cycle as we move through the next six months to two years, in our own lives and the collective. So, we need to find ways to deal with this. To keep ourselves centered and not anxious/fearful. To keep our faith in the better world we are building.

Keep in mind (and if you are in the United States you will be more familiar with the history of the Revolutionary War) we are moving through the same energies that birthed the United States (our Pluto return 2022 - the culmination of an approximately 250 year cycle).

This next revolution won't be without challenges because that first one looked totally impossible until it was done.

We are going to need staying power.

Sometimes we will win by losing and sometimes we will lose by winning. We are going to need to prioritize what matters most. We are going to need to take care of ourselves and our supportive relationships. We are going to need to get rid of any remaining clutter and the crap and those old commitments that are making our life any more complicated than it needs to be. We have to somehow turn our focus to what is starting - even if that looks like a gigantic void at this point - and not on what is leaving/gone.

If we are still holding onto stuff that needs to go and looking in our rearview mirror, it is truly going to feel like it is 'eating you alive' and then 2020 will feel just like 2019. We can get caught in a cycle and waste this whole year! So, let's not.

The biggest repeating aspect of 2020 - we get three passes of this - is going to be Jupiter conjunct Pluto (first up in April) - this is going to be very rejuvenating energy!

And having this Jupiter/Pluto continuing to empower the Eclipse square to Eris - our outsider energy - means we need to bring everybody to the table this year.

Because whoever isn't at the table is going to be heard ... one way ... or the other.

Back with the dailies again starting tomorrow and Part III when we look at this by sign then we'll start looking at the 2020 retrogrades because there are alot of them and they will be very significant

THE ASTROLOGY OF 2020 | PART III - FEELING UNDERWATER, A SUDDEN UNRAVELING, RELEASING THE NEED TO CONTROL EVERYTHING, RELEASING THE NEED TO TRY AND HOLD EVERYTHING TOGETHER, PREPARING FOR NEXT WEEK'S SH*TSHOW

https://www.deviantart.com/semansis/art/underwater-118739352

We talked about Saturn/Pluto's momentous meeting in January 2020in lots of posts - HERE is one of them - see mid-January.

It was impossible to know exactly what could happen, but it didn't sound good. And honestly after barely surviving the years that accompanied Pluto's crossing of my natal Mercury - which felt like a portal opened and a darkness/death swept in, triggered my inner-gaslighting or maybe/likely actually tried to kill me - and seeing the devastation of Pluto's crossing hub's natal Venus, Saturn and Mars in some kind of 'dark night of the soul' trifecta, I kept postponing writing/thinking about it.

I do not underestimate the effect on the collective to have the planet that holds everything solid together (Saturn) passing over the planet of death (Pluto) in the sign of the stuff he (Saturn) is holding together (Capricorn). I would guess if this were reversed and Pluto were to move over Saturn (instead of Saturn over Pluto) it would be game over. Which I suppose couldn't physically happen, but maybe it could.

But he didn't and it isn't.

OK, so where are we now. In a world filled with so much dis-ease, here comes an actual disease accompanied by a fear-mongering twenty-four hour news cycle designed to make our already over-taxed immune system even weaker.

Viruses are ruled by Neptune and we talked about the China chart for the virus's kick-off period HERE - when Saturn and Pluto (time runs outhere's the death that was postponed) met in China's 12th house (Neptune's house) on top of their natal Jupiter - it was game-on. People have asked me if this could be some kind of bio-terrorism thing - sure, maybe. Or maybe a portal opened and this bug named corona flew in - and maybe he will fly out just as mysteriously - it's happened before. Who knows. Pisces/Neptune rules secrets and what happens behind closed doors ...

Collectively, we've got Neptune in Pisces - until 2026 - strong in his home sign, back to close-out the Age of Pisces and a little more than halfway through his fifteen year journey. He has been showing us the illusive nature of 'truth' and we will find once we are 'woke' there is no going back to sleep, even with that expensive inner spring and intuitive foam topper system. We've taken the blue pill (or was it the red pill?). This doesn't mean any of us know what is going on, but a whole lot of people know now that they don't know.

(not knowing makes anything possible because thoughts are things and this kind of just adds to the chaos at this point, but is something we just have to get through and come out the other side of)

This sudden unraveling - which ultimately lands in Aquarius, with ruler Uranus disrupting our Taurean money, resources and values - is likely more about fear of chaos/death than any actually devastating illness for most people. Mercury (our thinking/the movement of ideas and objects and yes, why not our little corona fellow) has been back and forth through Pisces - sign with no limits/boundaries - since the beginning of February - and I never underestimate Mercury's ability to create trouble. He is strong and still, and detached, in Aquarius right now and is headed back into Pisces for another round of "this is your brain on drugs". Keep in mind, Mercury is dreading this, since he/she is in her detriment in Pisces. So, our thinking isn't crystal clear folks. It's hard to know what's important and what isn't and we can make ourselves cray-cray thinking something is way worse than it actually is.

This is a better time for grace/prayer/silence than brain storming.

Saturn/Pluto opened a portal. We are deep in our self-created messes and being held, feet to the fire, to take responsibility for what we came here for. And Jupiter in Cappy is limiting our options and Mercury really isn't doing much 'figuring out' right now either.

We are just going to have to take things day by day. We are just going to have to, like our ancestors and their ancestors and their ancestors, live with uncertainty - which we already knew we did, but somehow in the process of living our fast-paced lives we forgot we knew this.

We have Mercury at the end of Aquarius and Saturn at the end of Capricorn. We can see change is coming because they can't sit on their asses there forever - but right now it's like they have pulled out all the stops to dig in and stress us the f*ck out. There doesn't seem to be any good options and today we have the Moon in Scorpio - so everything we have going on is really going to feel like life and death. And obviously, for some people, it actually may be, but probably not for you and probably not for me ...

We need to keep in mind a couple things - first, the 2020's are going to a time of tremendous change. We can either loosen up and ride those waves (good and bad) or be thrashed about on the rocks for years.

Second, Saturn moves into Aquarius at the end of this month. One of the things we will be dealing with is karma (Saturn) with trauma (Aquarius). This can bring us to death-bed kind of experiences just so we can rise from our sweaty sheets. Say for example in a past life you had your head cut off by a mad king (or maybe an ancestor did, or maybe you are your ancestor, who can be sure, I certainly don't have all the answers) - your soul/the physical story you carry in your body/your Uranus/Aquarius energy carry this memory. So, now maybe in this life instead of your head cut off by a mad king, which created great trauma (think soul PTSD here), you get your head cut off by your mad boss. You are fired. This will feel like life and death to you. Life doesn't do this to us because life is cruel and cunning, but because the way to heal from the trauma of the king's henchmen is to face a similar (but not as deadly) situation and SURVIVE it and keep going. And this is what is happening to us now and which could potentially happen to us again in different ways as we move forward into the Age of Aquarius because we have alot of stuff to SHIFT. We have to keep going.

Unless we don't of course, and we just give up, and there are times to give up, but this isn't one of them.

We can't just snap our fingers and make this go away.

We have Mars meeting Jupiter on the Saturn/Pluto degree next week, so that will almost certainly energize/expand this situation and we have to get through Mars meeting with Pluto. But we also have an ambitious New Moon which will have us feeling something like "to hell with this crumbling ground beneath my feet, I am moving FORWARD anyway". And Venus in Taurus, thank God and Goddess for Venus in Taurus to soften the hard edges.

For now, it's still Pisces season. Release the need to try and control everything. Release the feeling you have to hold everything together - you don't. You can't. Meditate. Pray. Get into the water as often as possible - I think hand washing counts (is anyone else totally amazed at how often they touch their face with their hands!).

Expect what will feel like things are out of control, followed by attempts to regain control (personally and collectively). Focus on keeping in order what you can and releasing the rest. Let's be gentle with ourselves and other people. This too shall pass.

THE ASTROLOGY OF 2020 | PART I - THE NODES SHIFT TO GEMINI AND SAGITTARIUS

https://www.deviantart.com/s-t-r-a-n-g-e/art/the-sandgiver-89753174

I don't want to get too far ahead because it will be easier to see/conjecture what some of the upcoming transits will be about after we get through this important January, but let's look at the general gist of things coming up in 2020!

THE NODES

In May, 2020, the Nodes move from Cancer/Capricorn to Gemini/Sagittarius (through January 2022).

Here is where we, as a collective, and in our personal lives, too - appoint Gemini (ruled by tricky and androgynous Mercury) our guiding North Star and Sagittarius (ruled by expansive Jupiter), the space and themes in need of sorting/sifting and, because many are past their use-by date, retirement.

Gemini is all about the movement of information and ideas.

Gemini is about choices and multiple anythings. The expressions "more than one way to skin a cat" and "kill two birds with one stone" make my point here - although in a most ghastly way.

There will be more than one thing to talk about now, more than one thing to do, more than one way forward.

Gemini is a mutable (changeable) sign and led by fast-moving and frequently retrograde Mercury - will give us a run for our money.

Gemini rules our growth through the exchange of information, through contact with our immediate environment, through language. Gemini reigns over: the flow of information, technology, communication, our mental processes, conversations, stories, lies, our local community, our neighbors, our siblings, our transportation and, of course, the theme of your natal Gemini house.

Gemini is perspective. What we notice becomes what we think about, what we talk about, what we act on.

What we notice becomes who we are.

We will be compelled to notice what we are noticing because it will become clearer and clearer to us the importance of our FOCUS.

And of course, because the North Node presents a fresh energy to us - and this will be true even for those with alot of Gemini energy - and not without its challenges - we could find ourselves mired in distractions and probably very busy.

Instead of me writing about (our current Cancer North Node) allowing ourselves to be seen as vulnerable, coming home, being more maternal, taking care of ourselves -

I will likely be writing something like -

don't be afraid to change your mind, ask a question, question ourselves, make a new choice, tell a fresh story, look at fresh perspectives and new ideas, try new things, take a class, teach a class, do something within your local neighborhood, call your sister (or brother or cousin), start that book, start that business, make it smaller, travel/shop/sell more locally, get a new computer, get a new car, open your mouth!

Gemini is the first air sign of the astrological year - a sign of the mind, the archetype of the "teacher" - the storyteller. If you are a Gemini Sun sign this is basically the way you process life. As soon as you learn something, and you are naturally curious and learn alot of "somethings" - you simply must pass it on. Gemini has more to do with questions than answers. She has been mentally exploring and noticing stuff her entire life.

Geminis are actually supposed to know a hell of a lot of stuff that will never make them any money (unless they make it into the final rounds of Jeopardy) - this is the sign of curiosity.

Which brings us to sage Sagittarius, our upcoming South Node/point of release - the sign of knowledge/knowing.

The South Node in Sagittarius will show us "where we actually are".

Our entrenched beliefs, may become even more entrenched until it becomes obvious they are the elephant in the room blocking the door. Sag themes - travel, higher education, weddings, politics, legal issues, the media, publishing, foreigners, everything outside our comfort zone, exploration, our beliefs and higher thinking and, of course, the theme of our natal Sag house - will be subject to the disintegration of whatever is no longer working.

People with planets and points in Gemini and Sagittarius, as well as Virgo and Pisces (through squares) will be most impacted. But collectively we will all be feeling this.

Keep in mind we get the bounty of the North Node (Gemini) through the release of the negative/decaying South Node (Sagittarius). Releasing outdated belief systems, the stuff we are so sure about, moth-eaten religious teachings, our ideas about what is "foreign", our politics, our ideas about what is "true". With Jupiter - ruler of Sag - in Capricorn for most of 2020 - the de-construction of our safety/security in the outer world will likely continue for awhile ...

At the end of 2020, as Jupiter moves into Aquarius and meets Saturn (who will also have recently moved into Aquarius), we should see a major collective shift toward something NEW.

https://www.deviantart.com/s-t-r-a-n-g-e/art/the-sandgiver-89753174

PART II

The Nodes of the Moon are not planetary bodies, they are the points where the Moon's orbit around the Earth intersects with the Earth's orbit around the Sun. The North Node is the ascending node - where we are going. The South Node is the descending node - where we are now/where we have been. They move counter-clock wise (sort of like being retrograde all the time) and are exactly 180 degrees apart - opposing each other.
When we work with them in our natal charts we will be astounded at their accuracy - the same can be said of the collective transits.

On May 5th, 2020, (after 18 months working the Cancer/Capricorn axis) the North Node moved into Gemini, the South Node into Sagittarius.

Keep in mind the North Node is our best path forward, our fate, a psychological shift that needs to happen AND also indicates what will not come easy because it is NEW and untested and we are genetically wired, likely in order to stay safe and alive for thousands of years, to crave what is familiar.

The South Node is where we are now and is the space of the energies ripe for release because they have outgrown their usefulness. Now, not ALL Sag energies have outgrown their usefulness - the good stuff, the stuff that is still valid and needed is going to be avialable to us in greater and more beneficial ways. As we move into the North Node and embrace the Gemini, we get the reward of the best of Sagittarius!

One of our challenges we will be facing with the North Node in the dualistic sign of the twins, Gemini, will be to understand we live in a society with a freedom of choice.

Not everyone is going to agree. Not everyone is going to be moving in the same direction at the same time or maybe not ever at all. Not everyone is going to be playing by the same rules. These differences are not going to make any of us any less safe - these differences are what is needed.

We will be releasing any certainty we have with "this is the absolute truth" which is different from "these are the facts", so that we can relate to each other where we are.

So we can listen and learn from each other.

We can't be afraid to be curious, to ask questions, to change our mind - this will all be good uses of this Gemini energy/ways we align with our best path forward.

This will not be about coming into consensus because remember Gemini is a dualistic energy.

We aren't trying to get anyone else to agree with us. Think student here, not teacher.

When we move toward this new mindset, what will happen, because the other person will feel heard (rather than judged/preached at) is we will easily add to the conversation ideas/thoughts/information that help the other person and our words will be accepted.

Now, this isn't some backdoor way to change someone else's mind about something (ie control what they think) because that's not our job and that won't move us in the direction we need to go (because we will be moving in different directions).

Instead, it is a way to get along with people we don't agree with - which we have all done all our lives, but somehow have forgotten how to do now. We will be able to expand the other person's perspective as we listen and allow them to expand ours bringing out the best of that South Node in Sagittarius. A good mantra will be something like, "when I am willing to listen and learn from the other person, I win."

Now, this will be just one challenge of the North Node in Gemini. This will be about everything from our relationship to our siblings/local community to our need to take multiple steps and make multiple choices to get somewhere. Not one big step. There won't be one big solution, but multiple smaller solutions. Like a few years ago when the North Node was in Virgo; small is the new big.

We will talk about this as we move through it.

And because the South Node (where we are now and the problems here are what is ripe for release) is in Sagittarius - the sign of our big beliefs/the sign of the sage/preacher - none of this is going to come easy.

We are in our isolated spaces having deserted everyone around us to explore 'our truth'. We go to our phones and computers and mostly see the stuff that supports what we have seen before - because that's how the algorithms online work now - and we get agitated when someone doesn't agree with us. We even feel the need to argue with other people on their own posts on Facebook or report people's "fake news" to them as if we are their mothers.

We're not their mothers (unless we are, and then, of course, we get to DM them and ask them what the hell they are thinking).

We are not the "truth" police. It's not our job to control what other people think.

Self-righteousness is going to be one of our biggest challenges.

This is one of the reasons the nodes in Gemini/Sag often bring in a time of WAR. We want to avoid that, right. We can all agree - war bad. Avoid the war.

We are going to be working with our very old and very entrenched beliefs; the very spaces we are used to thinking of ourselves as "right".

Also with the Sag South Node we can expect changes with other Sagittarius themes - foreign travel, higher education, weddings, publishing, religion, legal issues, etc.

Now, nothing happens in a vacuum and at the same time we are going to have Neptune in Pisces which makes it very hard to know what is "true" - which is actually helpful for this transit and we are going to have Uranus in Taurus, upending what we value/creating chaos with our security and again this works well with this transit. Because we can't 'do' the North Node in Gemini without some changes to our security and values. We can't 'do' the North Node in Gemini when we have all the answers. We have Venus back in Gemini like she was in 2012 when we could have blown this 3D popsicle stand, but obviously weren't ready (sniffle) and collectively chose, unconsciously, to stay put and fight this out - SNIFFLE!

So, best case with all this is we learn the art of conversation; the process of skillful interaction. Humor will help, too!

We learn to offer our words/ our point of view with a sensitivity to the way the other person is hearing them. We invite their responses. We share helpful information. We turn the spotlight on other people from time to time via our questions rather than just going on and on about ourselves.

Conversation is like breathing, right, we inhale and then we exhale.

OK breathing, which Gemini rules, as well as our lungs, brings us to this pandemic and this corona-virus.

So, we come into this nodal switch with many, many people at home, feeling vulnerable and unsure about our security, our work in the world - if there is even going to be a world.

That North Node in Cancer/South Node in Capricorn - as this sh*t is apt to do - went out with a BANG.

With the Nodes changing at this time - because in astrology the chart when something begins sets up the whole game plan - it looks like we are going to collectively be deciding between two things/two ways of life. With the North Node in Gemini, coming to an agreement is probably not a possibility here. As a group we are going to come apart. We are going to split.

Right now, we are in a kind of limbo land. It's like we have been in an eight billion car pile-up. We have felt the initial impact of the crash. It was hard. It was fast. We had limited time to react. We are hurt and we suspect/know other people are hurt even worse.

The car crash has already happened.

But our car, and the others cars involved, haven't come to a stop yet.

We are still kind of tumbling around/flying through the air. So, whether we land in a soft marsh or slam into a semi going in the opposite direction or a brick wall isn't in our reality yet. We are maybe trying to avoid these worst scenarios, and maybe what we are doing is helping a little bit or maybe it is just creating a whole other set of problems. Like we have avoided the wall (a more rampant disease) which is a good thing, but then that semi is RIGHT IN FRONT OF US (the economy).

We don't know exactly what we are going to do and we don't know what the other drivers, and did I say eight billion, yes, eight billion, are going to do yet either.

I don't want to be negative because like I said we are still in the AIR. I also don't want to toss balloons over the car crash and call it a sweet sixteen party. Someday we will see the good/the silver lining that will come from this, but like I said .. the car hasn't even landed yet. Today is not that day. Tomorrow is not that day either.

I would suspect from the patterns and archetypes we are at a collective split. The cars are going to land on different roads and facing in different directions.

And in some very important ways we have already passed that split. Some of this is maybe already out of our hands. We are married to the future. But maybe there will be paths that lead to the other road in the future if we look hard enough. Then we will carry ourselves to this other space and watch our world reshape herself around us.

With Pluto retrograding back toward my natal Mercury, with my natal Mercury in serious, but also sometimes pessimistic Capricorn and with my third house Aquarius stellium including my Sun/Saturn making me a great over-thinker - I can gloom and doom with the best of them, believe me.

I could see a collective split in the future - being set up right now, between two sides of a scared populace. One side having been taken to the place where all we care about is that "this never happens again" and we give up our right to control our own body and our health via experimental/traceable vaccinations. We are tracked at all times, our conversations and our news controlled - for our safety and most importantly, for the safety of other people, of course. Or maybe there is no vaccine, so it isn't totally safe to venture outside just for pleasure anymore (we don't stop and ask if it ever was) - well who needs that park anymore, we can strip that land and give everyone a virtual reality headset for an imaginary picnic. No need to worry about keeping the cold cuts cold anymore either - another plus! And who needs other flesh and blood people in person - they are all so freaking germy - when we can just talk to the people who agree with us on Facebook or AI can just provide us with friends who will laugh at all our jokes, never be too tired to chat or out-cute us on bad-hair days. Money is dirty so that will go digital and yes it can be turned off and on, but why should we care about that, right? We pay our taxes. They won't turn our money off. We are the good guys. Masks and plastic shields will come in so many pretty designs and even though they could be totally ineffective, they are another great-equalizer and we will keep on buying them. We will call this side - the road for the people who value safety over all else.

And you might say to yourself, I don't value safety over all else, well, let's see then for you there is this other road - you cowboy/outlaw you!

Home to the people who value freedom over safety. This road will have less rules - no masks, no social distancing. There might be more illness for awhile at least, but maybe that will pass. This is the road for people who care more about "returning to the way things were before" or something like that. But maybe these people are not free to get on an airplane anymore or travel outside their "freedom" area or even work or live in certain places. There will be no trips to Disney World or trips to visit their family on the other side for this group. This is alot to give up, so maybe this road is not only the road less traveled, but maybe in not so many years, maybe not in our lifetime but maybe in our children's, it is the road not traveled at all.

This is very depressing, but the car is still in the air, like we said before

and there are certainly a thousand other/better roads - and almost surely I am thinking way too far ahead and extreme anyway. I know I am!

And there is always Chiron in Aries, we can draw ourselves up as the warriors we truly are if we need to.

In the meantime, maybe focus on the art of conversation part of Gemini/Sag. Give some thought to that. And we'll look at some different roads in Part III.

THE ASTROLOGY OF 2020 | PART IV - MAJOR PIVOT POINTS AHEAD, REVOLUTIONARY PREPWORK, STAYING FLEXIBLE, HOLDING THE LIGHT

https://www.flickr.com/photos/brookeshaden/13265697014/in/faves-94200611@N05/

I have put off looking too far ahead with everything that is happening and tried to just focus on the BIG picture. I sometimes think I should be looking/thinking ahead, but then feel my energy sucked into a great big void when I sit down to actually wrote about it.

We are being asked to embody a whole new program and it is going to take some time to download!

Our lives are like those little hourglasses spinning around on the screen.

It's not the best time to be looking. But let's look a little bit ahead anyway, keeping in mind you need to use your discernment because it is a time of looking within and who really knows how ineptly I could be viewing all this right now with my own stellium so activated .... :)

Anyhoo, here goes.

At the end of April, a HUGE shift will begin as Pluto stations retrograde. Normally Pluto's retrograde station isn't something we can personally feel (unless it is hitting an important point in our natal chart), but when the planet of death (and rebirth) starts backing up during a pandemic, I think that is going to mean something.

He stations retrograde squaring Mercury (in fiery Aries!) - suspicion, angry words, verbal manipulations and power plays - we are heading for something BIG here.

And just days before mercurial Mercury takes over the North Node!

APRIL 25TH - Pluto stations retrograde (death postponed, outer transformation becomes inner transformation, mess to be cleaned up before he stations direct in October) *
MAY 5TH - NORTH NODE INTO GEMINI, SOUTH NODE INTO SAGITTARIUS - this is also the trigger date for next month's first Eclipse
MAY 7TH - Full Moon in Scorpio (which will be ruled by that retrograde Pluto)
MAY 11TH - Saturn stations retrograde* (rules/limits relax, endings postponed)
MAY 13TH - Venus stations retrograde
MAY 14TH - Jupiter stations retrograde (expansion ends)
MAY 17TH - Pallas stations retrograde

By the middle of May, FIVE planets/bodies will be retrograde (!) including Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter - the energies that kicked this whole thing off - see January HERE

AND the North Node, our best path forward, will be out of Cancer (home, family, our inner life) and the South Node, what we we have stirred up to see what should stay and what we should leave behind, out of Capricorn (work, our outer life).

So, by mid-May, this first phase of the pandemic will be shifting gears. And this shifting could involve alot of grinding, stops and starts, but should involve a backward momentum - death postponed, time to clean up the mess, rules relaxed, endings delayed.

(Just as I write this, hubs who is going to need a serious YouTube rehab when this is all over - for I have no idea what reason, but synchronistically shows me a video of a guy in a brand new, fancy race-boat backing away from the off-ramp into the water and suddenly putting the boat into forward motion and slamming back into the ramp. "I guess he has wrecked the bottom of his new boat", I say. "And his engine", he adds.)

Let's proceed with a slow and steady backing up plan here. Let's get turned around before we hit that throttle.

Now, because the medical establishment thinks this virus could 'return' in the fall/winter

(and the news media have saturated our consciousnesses with thisand keep in mindthey also think and the media reports the virus may be unaffected by weather and not disappear in the summer, so as to cover all their foggy bases, no doubt)

AND because the astrology could be said to support this - since we are talking about pivots/a slowdown coming through retrograde periods, it is possible this is just what will happen.

Sooner or later the retrograde planets will start moving direct again and we will be back where we were in the spring, although older and wiser.

Jupiter stations direct mid-September (bringing him back to mid-May), Saturn at the end of September (back to mid-May) and Pluto the beginning of October (back to the end of April).

So, by the time Jupiter meets Pluto for the third and final time, near 11/11/2020 (!) - and we have ALOT of other things going on around that time - we could be back in the soup. Again.

Of course, it is also possible, because, here in the United States, this date is one week after the U.S. election - we will not be back in the same soup, but an entirely different pot.

In the United States this is all happening in the United States second house (our money, values, self-esteem) and in opposition to our natal Mercury (so driven by health, Mercury being the ruler of Virgo the sign of our health and driven by the media/news/information, Mercury also being the ruler of Gemini, ruler of information and ideas not all of which are accurate or true), and is part of our upcoming American Revolution Part II (Pluto return 2022), so all bets are kind of off with this one.

Keep in mind, Plutonian transits - and we just had a collective doozy of a Plutonian transit - Pluto/Saturn - and are in the middle of another Plutonian transit, this second one a three-peat - Pluto/Jupiter (April, August and November) - are PERMANENT.

There isn't a magic wand that will be waved and put us back where we were before.

Pluto wipes away "back there" - it simply doesn't exist anymore.

This will mean different things to different people.

Whether we are going to rise from our death bed's sweaty sheets or lock the doors and take to our beds forever is entirely up to each of us.

This "permanent change" (and I am not talking about masks and 'social distancing' here) isn't a totally bad thing and, yes, we might have to stretch and reach for the things we can label as good for a awhile.

And if we do this we will find them because they are and will be EVERYWHERE.

We'll talk about this more as we move through this.

*****

Now, this summer is going to have THREE eclipses, so there is alot of change and alot in flux throughout the summer. Eclipses have alot of staying power, work forward and backward and move through cycles.

Eclipses are cosmic course corrections. Things get eclipsed out or out of our way. We get a re-set. Things come to light or to a conclusion. There isn't much we can control about Eclipse energies.

Lunar Eclipse Full Moons (two of the three this summer) are a bit different than regular Full Moons because they are happening on the Moon's South Node - the Moon is full but its light is blocked by the earth's shadow. So although things are still concluding and 'coming to light' other stuff is hidden, too. Nothing is exactly as it seems. Sometimes we think we have failed and then something flips on us. Or we are patting ourselves on the back for a big win and the client calls with revisions that require many hours work. Sometimes much bigger, more important things are obscured in the shadows.

If we are looking for things to settle down - that probably isn't going to happen.

JUNE 5TH - Full Moon Lunar Eclipse (15 degrees Sag) squaring Mars - I sometimes find Eclipse events happen pretty much exactly one month before or after the actual Eclipse date - so this takes us back to May 5th when the Nodes change signs, there could be a dramatic event then, and it takes us forward to July 5th which is that third-wheel Lunar Eclipse in the middle of Capricorn possibly giving this Eclipse extra oomph, so all three dates are POWERFUL indicators for change.
JUNE 18TH - Mercury stations retrograde (in Cancer right in the middle of the eclipses!)
JUNE 21ST - New Moon Solar Eclipse (1 degree Cancer, hours after Summer Solstice)
JUNE 23RD - Neptune stations retrograde
JUNE 25TH - Venus stations direct
JUNE 27th - Mars enters Aries - where he will be, due to his upcoming retrograde, FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR. And during which time he will square Pluto three times - August, October and December. Keep in mind that Pluto moves very slowly and is going to be within a couple degrees of his January position all year, so any contact with Pluto activates the Saturn/Pluto AND it activates the Jupiter/Pluto.
JUNE 30th -  Jupiter conjuncts Pluto (for the second time, this is the conjunction where they are both retrograde)
JULY 5TH - Full Moon Lunar Eclipse (13 degrees Capricorn)

So, June, and into the first week or so of July, just looks like a WILD RIDE - almost anything can happen!

You can see there are just too many pivot points to make anything more than educated guesses about what will happen. We are just going to have to hang on loosely.

Just like we could see at the January 2020 eclipse that 'mama-bear standing all alone against the world' and we could see 'time running out' at the January Saturn/Pluto pow-wow, but we couldn't see the collision course of all of this resulting in this exact pandemic/time-out.

I am posting this as the Sun squares that Jupiter/Pluto and as Mercury meets with Chiron. This is tricky energy. And we are still in this 'waiting' space. Mercury/Chiron here is kind of like we have an idea of who we are and then we defend it on a mental level. And then here is life - this stellium at the end of Capricorn/beginning of Aquarius - pushing to change us. Demanding we interact with life on life's terms and not our own.

We are heading into a nodal shift to Gemini/Sagittarius - we want to be holding on very loosely to our ideals and our ideas. We have to be flexible. We have to trust (Jupiter!) that we have what we need for this time we are living through. We have to trust this will all work out in the end (because it will, this is assured - this doesn't mean we get to sit this one out and not participate though, this has clearly been brought home to all of us in the last month).

In the iChing - ARGUING follows waiting. And 'arguing for something' makes a much better beginning than it does an ending. We'll talk about that in tomorrow's post.

xo all

I have had a few people write me about conspiracy theories and about Bill Gates global agenda with vaccines that can be tracked inside our bodies (or ability to change the world through tech/science, depending on how you look at it and both are true probably), so I took a look at his chart and will do a full post about it. It is very interesting with mega-ties to these times. He has a natal Jupiter/Pluto conjunction - huge power potential here - and it exactly trines Neptune, so no limits. His natal Chiron is at 0 degrees Aquarius, Uranus is on his ascendant and his Nodes are Sagittarius/Gemini, so opposite the new Nodes we are heading into. A person with a natal Jupiter/Pluto conjunction in a year when we have three Jupiter Pluto conjunctions is going to be mega-activated. Mega-powerful. One problem I see ahead for Bill's plans - for good or ill - is that nodal opposition because Hillary had that when she looked like she was going to win and then didn't and that natal Chiron opposing his important Uranus - his Achille's heel at the important degree of 0 Aquarius, another uber activated degree, especially at the end of the year when Jupiter meets Saturn. On the other hand that could be his ace in the hole depending on what he does with it. We will take a better look! In the meantime try not to get too caught up in conspiracy theories - true or untrue we can't tell - and even if powerful nefarious forces are at work rest assured God/the Universe/love is stronger than any of them and knows what he/she is doing with all of this!

THE ASTROLOGY OF 2020 | PART V - MARS COMES HOME ... WITH A MISSION

https://www.deviantart.com/alltelleringet/art/Free-Breakers-554996265

Since Mars is going to retrograde in his home sign of Aries this year for a long transit during which time he will square the Cappy planets he mega-impacted in March, sending our normal lives hurtling into the stratosphere (and yes, this stratosphere could look something like the inside of a 100 year old center hall colonial with a leaky roof) - it seems like a good idea - knowing what we know now about what is unfolding this year - to take an early look at that.

So here we go - on June 27, 2020, Mars will move into his home sign of Aries for the first time in two years

(yes, even Mars is sent to his room this year).

Aries is the energy we incarnate through - it is us being born. Pushing our way into our very existence. Starting out all alone. It is our hero's journey. Our "I am".

In Aries, Mars is strong, willful, passionate, impulsive - and at his most Mars-y

(which is something like ballsy only more like BALLSY - I am talking bowling and not tennis here),

and because of his upcoming retrograde, he will be in Aries for THE REST OF THE YEAR.

Mars is the first planet outside our Earth's orbit. Our other inner/personal planets, Mercury and Venus are closer to the center, and, so, visually they travel with the Sun - they never get too far away - but Mars is a fellow who likes his independence.

He isn't constrained by the Sun in the same way Mercury and Venus are. Ruler of brave and independent Aries he does what he wants.

In Roman mythology, Mars was the son of Juno and Jupiter (in Greek mythology he was the God Ares). We think of Mars as the God of War, because he is, but his ancient role - as a fertility God and protector of crops and animals (herds), might be something for us to keep in mind as we talk about his upcoming retrograde.

In our natal chart Mars rules our natal Aries house and is influenced/and influences the sign and house he calls home. Mars is about our will, our ambition, our action, our passion, our physical self, our selfishness, our rage. His house placement and rulership lets us know what battles we are going to face in this lifetime - the spaces where, if we are not assertive and active (without being self-centered, irritable, impulsive, angry assholes), we will find ourselves steamrolled or in continued stress until we take action/stand up for ourselves/have COURAGE.

The last time Mars went retrograde was in June 2018

(in Aquarius - he moved back and forth over the South Node back then - this was that big summer when something might have ended/never got off the ground/didn't quite work out).

He won't be going over the South Node this time, thank goodness - the South Node will have moved on into Sagittarius, but he will be squaring that Cappy pile-up. Ouch!

My post from June 2018 during his last retrograde is HERE and included these words:

"Life is a chessboard (and a box of chocolate, too, of course) and this year we are being pushed and drop-kicked toward the positions we are most needed for a successful collective outcome in 2020. This year is the bridge year - this is why it feels like there is no ground beneath our feet! And yes, I realize there are no bridges on a chessboard (and no drop-kicking) - I need some help with these metaphors and my brain is not cooperating. Physically, mentally and emotionally - we are moving toward where we, and our energy level, needs to be. It can be exhausting, especially when we are dealing with the worn foundational issues we have ignored/procrastinated and the spaces where we have become super-glued to anything."

A couple important things will happen during Mars' visit to his old stomping ground.

He is, as we already said, going to station retrograde - so he (as us) will cover some of this territory THREE TIMES. And a retrograde Mars, isn't his usual self.

Pushy, world-centered activity tends to bite us in the butt when Mars is retrograde (this might not be true for people born when Mars was retrograde - they could get some kind of butt-bite-protection during retros), so, it's not the time to start a fight, the person who starts the fight will surely lose (or be the big learner if we look at it that way - which is why we won't always be able to stop ourselves from launching that grenade!).

If instead we turn our focus inside and allow our actions to flow from the passion initiated from that this will be a much easier/smoother transit for us personally.

AND, since Aries squares Capricorn, he is going to square Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn (because Saturn's retrograde is going to pull him back into Capricorn at precisely the right/wrong time) THREE TIMES. Sorry to keep shouting. I blame the cold weather.

We are going to talk through all of this as we move through it, but know this, coupled with a strong Eclipse season where things can flip around on us, means summer is NOT business as usual.

So, we will get to a certain point with something and need to go backward. We will have to re-do something, get to do things we missed doing the first time around - maybe experience second chances with opportunities/people/situations we missed. With Mars ruling our passion - this could be about rekindling an old passion. Life will not be all hand-washing and Netflix, I can promise you that.

Aries rules men, so expect men (maybe especially young men) to be out of sorts this summer with Mars moving backward (appearing to from our position on Earth).

Some of us who never hesitate will be hesitating (or pulling the trigger too soon) and others who normally need a push will be out there pushing. And again, this happening during a very tumultuous time, with the South Node moved into Sag and many people likely wedded to very entrenched beliefs, well, Mars retrograde in Aries could stir up some TROUBLE.

Mars kicked the pandemic up a notch when he connected with the Cappy planets in March. He will square the Cappy planets in August, September/October and December. Tension. Frustration. Blockage. These will all be needed and necessary, but could be stressful. So, this is a heads up. What house does Aries rule in your natal chart? What is the theme of that house?

The squares will roll out something like this:

MARS SQUARE SATURN - September 29th (Mars retrograde, Saturn direct) - Saturn definitely has the upper hand. We keep our cool and live to fight another day or we lose. This is unyielding - a denial of aggression/assertion. There is a "no" here. Roadblocks/limits/traditions serve a purpose - sometimes we need to go around, crash over or plow through them and sometimes they keep us from falling off the cliff. On the other hand, Saturn can win the battle and lose the war if he overplays his hand.

MARS SQUARE JUPITER - (in mythology this would be a son/father battle) August 4th (Mars direct, Jupiter retrograde), October 19th (Mars retrograde, Jupiter direct) - this is going to amplify the Mars/Saturn/Pluto stuff. We could overestimate/exaggerate our strength/power. Move too fast. Use too much force or maybe too little. Jupiter is going to amplify the August and October squares - but, keep in mind Jupiter's basic beneficial nature. He is protective. He gives us faith.

MARS SQUARE PLUTO - This time we get an extra hit. August 13th (Mars direct, Pluto retrograde), October 9th (Mars retrograde, Pluto direct) and December 23rd (both direct) - Mars is powerful in his home sign and Pluto is, well Pluto is Pluto. Expect intense competition and unbridled ambition. Manipulations. Obsessions. Jealousy. Physical power struggles. Excisions/surgical procedures. Our power could be challenged or we could be the one doing the calling out. If we are "waked" this is the time to think about why this situation is "triggering" us. If we are repressing anger/passion/strong urges - here's where the lid comes off. We could be mad (Mars) at the truth (Pluto). We could be battling (Mars) for power/control (Pluto). We don't want to be ruthless or under-handed, but we might have to stand up for ourselves.  Avoid unnecessary run ins with the boss/authority because THEY WILL WIN. If we are the boss/authority then avoid making other people feel threatened because WE WILL LOSE in the long run. And we are playing a long game here. Keep this in mind. Mars/Pluto is like a bully aspect, but it is also about having the courage to SURVIVE.

As that final square unwinds itself by January 2021, the ground will have been scorched and there will be no going back. Very deep issues have been challenged. Something, at least sort of put to bed.

The sheets will undoubtedly be in a sweaty pile though

(that whole rising from our death beds thing this year).

Now during all these squares Mars is going to be conjunct his sister Eris. She is our angry outsider energy, the terrorist energy, the whistle-blower, the loose cannon, but she is really about challenging us to adapt/transform - so we will have to see how she factors in during these transits.  Again this year the need to bring everyone to the table.

(Eris has a discovery story that amazingly matches her mythological personality. The astronomer who discovered her first wanted to name her Xena. When he learned that was a made up TV thing, he then wanted to name her Persephone (after Ceres daughter, but that name was taken by an asteroid), and so apparently determined to name what he thought would be the 10th planet after a strong female, he settled on Eris.

THEN instead of announcing her as our 10th planet, the astronomy community decided to just demote Pluto - demote PLUTO?! - and call Eris, Pluto and Ceres dwarf planets. If we think about the Eris myth - about her being the angry outsider treated unfairly and enacting her revenge - we can see how this series of events - her being the name third chosen, not being granted planetary status and finally pulling Pluto down with her - while pulling up Ceres - exactly describes her mythology!)

It's hard to say what this will mean with the virus, our financial situation, the political divisions, protests, etc, but it almost certainly means none of these problems are going to go down easy.

Most of us have very deep soul memories of abandonment, lack of roots, not being able to take care of ourselves, being an outsider, dying alone, power struggles with authority or through being the authority, terrifying endings, death anxiety.

There is a need now to confront these energies. This is all being triggered. We have postponed this confrontation for lifetimes and now face the impossibility of running away from this stuff. There is nowhere to run. Keep in mind the big picture - we are building a bold new world, the fear that keeps us riveted in place will not be allowed to be part of this new structure.

BIG moves (by authority, by us stepping into our responsibilities for ourselves and for the group as our karma with trauma plays itself out) are coming in this chapter.

The good news and there is ALOT - Mars moves into Aries and sextiles Saturn (while he is still in Aquarius), AND he sextiles Jupiter and Pluto in the preceding days (from Pisces/Capricorn), so they all start out with their groove on in mid to late June - in harmony.

Obviously they have their differences later on, but starting out in an opportunistic position is good news. Also Mars will have multiple sextiles with the North Node in Gemini - choices, ideas - lots of options and opportunities.

Life is changing. The only way to work something into the collective experience is to squeeze it down into our personal lives. So, yes, we are - should we survive the pressure and I am guessing most of us will - the lemons turning into the lemonade. Cue the red solo cup.

Mars will station retrograde on September 9th at 28 degrees Aries. He will get all the way back to 15 degrees on November 15th.

So, 15-28 degrees of the cardinal signs - Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn - are Mars retrograde hot spots. People with planets in here will be feeling the heat of this the strongest.

Keep in mind Mars transits are FAST. This passionate/intense/maybe angry/maybe ambitious energy will interact with our natal planet for a couple days and then unwind BUT because of the retrograde this will happen THREE times so provide more of a lasting and substantial impact.

Although squares are kind of irresolvable - just due to their basic natures being so different - squares are problem solving aspects. They require evolution. They are uncomfortable because we are set up to crave what is familiar, but moving through the challenges/surviving the challenges/evolving - always makes us stronger.

The squares will weed out the weak responses we are collectively and personally enabling between those Aries and Capricorn energies.

We have to keep in mind we don't really want either side to actually win - one side left drawn and quartered actually hurts both sides. We need the residual stress/the restlessness. These energies always need some unfinished business.

Forewarned is forearmed. especially since we are talking about Mars.

That's one of the goodies we get from our mundane astrology musings.

So, for example, if you are a Scorpio rising just knowing Mars is going to spend an inordinate amount of time in your 6th house later in the year - house of health - would mean this is a good time, right now, to put extra energy into being healthy (and I guess this is a bad example because we are all doing that!). Also, since this is the house of work and our daily activities (and pets) - plan on giving Mars something to do here to keep him busy at the end of June and through the rest of the year. We can't plan for everything, and we wouldn't want to anyway, but we can learn to work with this stuff and go with the flow.

The squares will challenge all of us. Personally and collectively. Mars in Aries for such a long time means we will all be working with our initiative, our passion, our anger! Long, hot summer? A big YES.

I will add to this post as we move along and have a better view of what all this means!

next up part VI - Venus retrograde in Gemini - this one comes sooner than the Mars retro but with his squares I wanted to take a look at that first

THE ASTROLOGY OF 2020 | PART VI - PISCES/NEPTUNE AND THE SPREAD OF DISEASE AND MIS-INFORMATION AND HOW WE CAN'T RISE FROM THE SWEATY SHEETS OF OUR DEATHBEDS WITHOUT KNOWING WE MATTER

https://www.deviantart.com/sistersinnister/art/Happy-birthday-dear-teacher-523405582

We've talked about what happened in January many times (that 'time runs out' palaver with Saturn and Pluto). We've known 'winter is coming' for years, although granted not exactly what that actually meant, and talked about it here many times (this was more than an HBO series with a lame ending).

When these two bigwigs got together (reality and death) they weren't dining alone. We also had Ceres (Mother Earth) and Mercury seated there, too (the movement of everything, our thinking and also through Virgo our HEALTH).

And, of course, the king himself, the SUN at the head of the table.

2020 was already set up for Venus to retrograde in Gemini (Mercury's sign) in the spring, and with Uranus in Taurus answering to Venus, to pull Uranus chaos into the mix. Mars was scheduled to hit the hot Capricorn degrees the January palaver initiated in the spring and then to go retrograde in his own sign and square these same degrees, multiple times, in the late summer/fall.

So, let's think this through.

Saturn is reality. Pluto is death/transformation. The Sun, our energy/life/royalty/ego. Ceres, the seasons of our life/major change/the planet/food and Mercury, our health, our thinking and the movement of everything.

It was possible to see, but not surprising that we didn't because we are talking about Pisces here, if we looked ahead at what Mercury and Ceres were going to do (we already knew Saturn/Pluto was 'time runs out') - that this whole thing could play out through a VIRUS (and with Mercury, the trickster involved, and pulling Pisces illusions and delusions into the mix, somehow an inability to see/know what is totally real/important here).

Because in 2020, both Mercury and Ceres were going to have long retrogrades in Pisces (the sign that rules the ethereal realms, the space of no boundaries, the ruler of viruses

at the SAME DEGREES - Mercury (just as the Sun entered Pisces - remember he was at that January meeting, too) in the late winter/spring and Ceres in the following summer/fall/early winter.

And the Nodes of Fate, were set to move into Gemini/Sagittarius - squaring Pisces and Virgo - our two health signs and activating a whole generation of people born in the 1960's with Pluto conjunct Uranus in Virgo. Karma with trauma. The Virgo Full Moon on March 9, 2020 was designed as a potential drop kick, if needed, to launch something health related into the stratosphere. And it did.

Saturn/Pluto. Pluto/Saturn. This is where our focus went. A war? Death of the king? Remember we had Trump's impeachment and the shooting of the general in Iran, that led us to a pre-World War III (think: Cuban missile crisis) kind of moment.

Both Trump and everyone else who was paying attention rose from their sweaty death bed sheets as these situations appeared to quickly, almost magically disappear

(the real crisis though, hidden by trickster Mercury in the background, was only beginning to seep out - China reports the first death from the new virus to the WHO).

The year seemed to set-up a crisis followed by its swift ending/non-ending. In our personal lives something would have happened like this, too and probably never totally resolved itself either, but the thing we were most afraid of happening doesn't actually happen (not that people were afraid of Trump's impeachment, although I am sure some were, but because he - the king - was afraid).

We let out the deep breath we were holding, only to find ourselves needing to draw another one ....

Mercury/Ceres may have saved many lives by giving this whole thing another road to take. We can't know. It's not a great road, but it's better than World War III or an alien invasion. Or is this an alien invasion? Maybe it is now that I think about it!

Mercury has done his/her part.

She (as us) took what she received from that January palaver and sent this thing far and wide during her time in boundless Pisces, and also, being the trickster energy in an illusive sign made it hard/impossible to know just how dangerous this whole thing really was/is. Were deaths being over or under-reported? Was this whole thing priming the pump to have all of us salivating for a vaccine? Mercury/Pluto is thinking about death and, I guess she did her job. Because we were/are.

Last week, Ceres (activating things outside our control), in Pisces, hit the degree of Mercury's station from late February, and then she also stationed retrograde! So, now she brings what she has taken from the palaver into this simmering Pisces soup.

(at 13 degrees, which is also the degree of the final Eclipse last week, the Cappy Full Moon Eclipse, and remember it was the Cancer Full Moon eclipse that happened two days before Saturn/Pluto - Cancer/Cappy are opposite signs - that was the one with the mama-bear Cancer Moon standing all alone against the world, demanding we prioritize home and family. She certainly had a hand in what was coming!)

Remember planets at station are UBER strong. Think of your finger moving through a lit candle and then you stop moving your hand. Ouch.

So, now Ceres is moving back over Mercury's LIT degrees, but also bringing her own energy into this space - because she was at the January table, too. She is slower than Mercury - and could potentially carry us through multiple seasons of this.

Again the virus back in the news spreading/growing

(I am sorry this is so United States centric for anyone outside the U.S!),

I am still thinking with Neptune (ruler of Pisces) retrograde the virus will not be as deadly now. This is more about 'thinking about death/fear', our karma with trauma, rising from our sweaty sheets (after) and the destruction of old support systems.

Ceres is going to be in Pisces until the end of February 2021. By that time the Sun will be in Pisces starting a fresh cycle ...

Another thing we have had happening during this time (because remember it is never just one thing in a chart) is the start of Saturn/Uranus when Saturn made a brief appearance in Aquarius. He will be back there in December and be in Aquarius until March 2023. Saturn is going to square Uranus multiple times next year - so this is two things that say the same thing. This isn't about the virus necessarily, but definitely factors in.

This is the rebellion (Uranus) against rules/limits/authority (Saturn) story-line - among other things. We've seen this play out here in the United States in multiple ways.

One thing to keep in mind is the 'death cycle' with Pluto that we talked about in other posts. The point isn't that we die. Because we can never actually die (although obviously we can lose our human life). This 'rising from our death bed' thing implies that we have been made to care enough about LIVING to be able to rise. To want to rise.

Our lives need to be made to MATTER.

Black Lives Matter becoming such a collective energy is part of that. We needed this now. All of us. We have to say our life is valuable. This had to happen now to have the impact it is going to have. To have the power it needs to have. A whole bunch of people, supported by a whole other bunch of people, need to KNOW this.

We can't rise from our sweaty death bed sheets without KNOWING WE MATTER

(if you are a person who these words bother/who are triggered by them - think about why they bother you, maybe somewhere you need to more strongly believe that you matter, I can assure you YOU ARE A ONCE IN A LIFETIME COSMIC EVENT - no one matters more than you do).

This whole thing playing out through the death of a man who couldn't breath during a time of a respiratory pandemic isn't a coincidence. This is us co-creating life on planet Earth.

Tipping points will always arrive.

As will retrogrades just when we need them, in this case, so we can re-think/re-work the 'practical'!

Maybe once we came to the collective conclusion, through quantum physics and new-age thinking (what strange bedfellows) that we make our reality/that thoughts are things and influence events, reality's shifting was set into motion in the most peculiar ways ..,..

Back in a couple days with part VII - we'll look at Ceres, the QAnon stuff with Trump and how this factors in, the virus future timelines and more
