Full Moon in Libra | Saturday, April 12th, 2025 - a need for what is fair and balanced, big relationship conclusions and changes of direction, the crack is where the light gets in, venus stations direct!

On Saturday, April 12th, 2025 at 8:22PM EDT, the Libra Moon opposes the Aries Sun at 23 degrees giving us this month's Full Moon - our annual Full Moon in Libra. This Moon officially closes out our Spring Eclipse season.

Full Moons are always a time of PEAK energy. There is a culmination, a completion. Something comes TO LIGHT.

In general during a Libra Moon we might notice the ways our life/relationships have moved out of balance. Who/what we are attracted to now. Who/what we are withdrawing from or is withdrawing from us.

It's been almost exactly a year since we had that BIG Aries Eclipse with the Sun conjunct Chiron, and, now, we have a Full Moon OPPOSING the Sun/Chiron. What has healed in the past year? How have we had to be strong or stand on our own two feet? What have we had to start or initiate? WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED ABOUT OURSELVES and our closest relationships? That Eclipse post is HERE - maybe something in there is helpful.

Chiron's orbit takes him from Uranus to Saturn. And we just talked last week about the OPPORTUNISTIC sextile Uranus and Saturn are forming now.

Then, just hours after the Moon in Libra opposes the Sun, Venus (after her 40 day and 40 night retrograde), the ruler of Libra - stations direct.

This implies that Full Moon events - peaks, culminations, endings, whatever is brought "into the light" - will almost immediately change our direction or move us/the situation into a new phase.

Let's unpack the chart!

The Moon at 23 degrees Libra opposes the Sun in Aries. The Moon opposes Chiron EXACT with the Sun. The Moon trines Jupiter in Gemini (separating) and the Moon squares Mars in Cancer. Eris is conjunct the Sun/Chiron.

The Sun/Chiron puts a light/focus on a vulnerability. An old wound. Maybe a mistake is made and a shortcoming is revealed. People born with Chiron in Aries might carry a very old wound around their self-esteem, so something like this could show up for any of us now. It will connect back to childhood, but actually be much older than this. Keep in mind the way things "show up". We lose our temper or ignore what we shouldn't, are triggered over something small/over-react, feel strangely uncomfortable when someone else is doing what we know or think we should be, we self-sabotage and we get sick. There are many ways old wounds can "show up". Although this can be a new situation, the roots are much older. Because Chironic wounds don't so much heal as we learn to live with them and they bring out gifts in us that can be shared - they are a huge part of our journey here on planet Earth.

Let's say, for example, this is a health situation because sometimes astrology is pretty literal. It would likely have been growing as the Moon trined Jupiter - so over the last couple days (on the one hand, but in another sense it is part of a much larger/older story). Then the Moon opposes the Sun/Chiron - it is visible, we can see it. And maybe here is where it concludes because oppositions are endings. The Moon is then going to square Mars, so we are pushed to take some kind of action or maybe the Moon (coupled with Venus's change of direction) brings a conclusion/ending and then Mars shows our change of direction. Mars is trining the North Node, so our efforts/actions are aligned with the best way forward.

In general, with the planets and signs involved, this will be about something that needs to be RE-BALANCED. This might speak of a wound to our self-esteem (fear around being able to take care of ourselves) or an injustice. There could be a scapegoat storyline going on where we, either are the scapegoat, or, are projecting this onto someone else. The Sun is already sitting with Chiron, when the Moon comes in to opposes them, so there is pain here/a light on a vulnerability/old wound and then the Moon in balanced, cooperative and social Libra shows up to help re-balance or conclude things. With the ruler of Libra, Venus, part of the "going back to get a better ending" Pisces brigade - this could be about a relationship, person or situation from the pastWith Venus changing direction and the Moon reaching her monthly wrap-up at the same time while answering to Venus this looks like a CONCLUSION.

This could conclude the relationship OR the imbalance - situation brought back into balance - and the Mars/North Node will give us some direction here via our intuition, right timing, etc, and we will take action that aligns us with our best PATH FORWARD.

Whatever happens something has been both settled - the Full Moon - and set in the new direction it needs to go via our efforts and action - the Mars trine. Venus's change of direction can also speak of a change in our values/what we want maybe coming as a result of what comes to light or concludes here.

The Moon's final aspect being that square to Mars shows this probably won't be wrapped up with a big red bow. There is still conflict/frustration going forward. This is a complicated time and multiple storylines/plots are converging in this chapter - the war coming home, the need to go back to get a better ending before we start, yada yada.

Venus, the ruler of lunation is about to wrap up her LONG retrograde, and she stations direct at 24 Pisces tightly conjunct Saturn (at 25 degrees) implying that her change of direction involves a need for seriousness/sobriety, something that will involve patience and work and maturity. Venus/Saturn is not a comfortable aspect. It can feel heavy, and in Pisces, even "sacrificial". They will be together for a couple more weeks, so, again, things are going to take some time. Venus/Saturn can bring relationship and financial reality checks and in Pisces things can still be confusing.

Venus retrograde started back on March 1st, so there could be something from around that time that is changing direction now.

By next week, and maybe we start to really feel this sometime on Tuesday, we will have all planets direct. Eclipse season is over. We still have to cover these old degrees/territories one more time - Mercury and Venus - but at least we have the inner planets moving in the same direction as the outer planets. Let's see how we start to feel. Saturn will probably tamp down some of Venus in Pisces (where she is exalted) usual magic, but he will also make things more REAL.

And speaking of Saturn, he will reach the North Node in Pisces by degree at the end of next week and they will be pretty much exact until the 22nd (most exact), so we are CEMENTING OUR FUTURE. We have had plenty of time to re-view and re-vise. To re-think. To figure out what we want. Things will start to get more sticky after this Full Moon. More real. Commitments are karmic contracts and will not be easily shrugged off. Endings will be more defined and have their own karma. You have the benefit of astrology to know this going in. This is very fated stuff, so how much free-will we actually have now is hard to say. Events conspire to force our hand (around a corner, toward a new destination or even away from the steering wheel entirely). With everything landing in Pisces/God - and those bigger hands than ours steering the ship right now - I take this to mean - we can't go wrong, even if it looks like we have. Have faith. Once Venus stations direct, it is all systems go. This doesn't mean we go full out full steam ahead exactly, but we are certainly GOING somewhere.

TO RECAP- (and keep in mind this is a collective analysis - our natal house placements will play a part in what areas of life this is about for each of us personally) :

This lunation is part of the 'going back to get a better ending' storyline. For some this has been about 'licking our wounds after the battle/re-charging' so we can re-emerge on the battlefield/into the game of life - stronger and braver BECAUSE we are more compassionate, connected and faithful (meaning having greater faith). There is now a re-balancing or conclusion that involves an old wound/vulnerability, maybe connected to whatever was going on about one year ago, maybe connected to the time period around March 1st. Venus then stations direct/changes direction so the re-view of our values and what we want is over. Venus and Mercury in Pisces tell us to use our intuition and compassion. They have both now changed direction and turned around, so minds/our wants are CHANGING. Saturn makes things serious and brings the reality-check to aid in our decision making. Without Saturn in Pisces this whole thing is just a big mess. The Moon's square to Mars pushes us to take uncomfortable action and Mars' trine to the North Node of Fate aligns our efforts - likely influenced by family, home or a need for greater security - with our BEST PATH FORWARD.

That's about it in a nutshell.

With so much going on in the world this Full Moon in balanced, cooperative and diplomatic Libra really has her work cut out for her. The Suns/leaders wounds are visible and monkeys on their backs now. On all our backs. They are also the cracks that allow the light to get in, so Venus/Libra can work its magic.

I hope something here is helpful.

Last week was BIG. Next week is BIG.

Then the following week we have the FINAL Mars opposing Pluto - with Pluto EXACT on the Moon of China (the people) and leader Xi Jinping's North Node of Fate (yes, his NN is exactly conjunct China's Moon - the people!) and transiting Mars is on Xi Jinping's South Node/Moon conjunction. Mars is also conjunct the United States' natal North Node of Fate, transiting Jupiter conjunct the U.S. Mars and Pluto EXACT on the United States natal Hybris and conjunct Trump's natal Hybris/Pluto. Lessons in hubris here. Venus rules China's Sun and the United States 10th house Saturn and Saturn rules China's chart, so let's hope Venus's turnaround this weekend conjunct Saturn helps before we even get to the Mars/Pluto. This Full Moon is conjunct Xi Jinping's natal Neptune/Saturn and we are in this HUGE Neptune/Saturn restructuring cycle in 2025-2026, so a BIG time for him and the people of China who are aligned with his fate. Xi Jinping's natal Neptune/Saturn squares his natal Uranus which is EXACTLY square Trump's natal Jupiter, so he can be unpredictable for Trump/bring chaos. Unusual to think of someone bringing chaos TO Trump.

Trump has a 22 degree Gemini Sun and Xi Jinping has a 23 degree Gemini Sun. The last Mars/Pluto opposition was at the time of the election with Trump battling Harris. Now here is the final Mars/Pluto in this series (war comes home series) with Mars in royal Leo this time and ruled by the Sun and we have Trump/Xi Jinping Suns battling and had the election gone another way might have had Harris/Netanyahu's Suns battling (they both have the exact degree Suns in Libra - both conjunct this Full Moon BTW). Maybe. Maybe not. And 'battle' isn't the right word here.

And I still can't help feeling that while the news keeps our eyes over here, there is something bigger going on over THERE. We are going to need eyes in the back of our head and roller skates to keep up until all the planets get settled into their new positions by next year.

Keep the big picture in mind. This is a TRANSITION. Let's hold on to what feels right and release what feels done. And, we are going to need to allow ourselves to grieve what is gone/what is dissolving. That's a big part of all this Pisces for so long, too.

The grieving.

There are unknown and unfamiliar ways of being that are here and that are coming. If we pulled an ancestor into our present life they would probably feel quite lost for a while. The difference for us is that things are moving so fast now with so many changes in one lifetime, we are our own ancestors!

With Luna's opposition to Chiron this is not going to be the most comfortable Full Moon, but there are opportunities for healing very old wounds, now, and, over the next couple weeks as the Moon wanes, baked into the chart.

xo all - back with the weekly tomorrow
