Venus Sextile the North Node, Samhain| happy celtic new year, HAPPY HALLOWEEN, ancestral assistance, relationship from the past resurfaces, opportunities with women, cooperative efforts move us forward, agreements are reached

Sully, the mad scientist, at Saturday's Halloween party - not the photobooth camper -  this one might become a book mobile though!

Today is actually the first day of the Celtic New Year/first day of winter and was presided over by the Goddess Samhain. The ancients believed the veil between the worlds was thinnest now and certainly today's Moon in unbounded Pisces helps that along.

This is a good time to say a prayer for our ancestors well-being and also to ask them for their help. Our relationship with them works both ways. There was a scene in the Spielberg movie 'Amistad' where the brave Mende tribesman Sengbe Pieh stood in the crowded bowels of the slave ship and appealed to his ancestors for assistance, "I am the only reason you were ever born", he cried out. There is some truth to this. Not only in a physical sense of carrying a bloodline, but more importantly in the spiritual sense of "continuing their story".

The birth of my nephew, whose birth chart (natal chart from the moment he drew his first breath - in his case calculated by my brother down to the millisecond so he could give me the correct time) is such an exact representation of his parents' story at the time of his birth has convinced me our chart is not only a road-map for our personal journey (our spiritual contract) and a complete embodiment of that actual moment in time for us to carry for the collective, but also a perfect accounting of our parents' story through that moment the baton is passed and we pick up whatever bits and pieces we have agreed to work with. Of course, the same happened at their birth and their parents' birth and so on and so on back through time.

So complicated as to be unbelievable that all these pieces could fit so nicely together ... and yet they do.

The Pisces Moon encourages creative work and connecting with other people until the Moon goes void at 5:08PM EDT. It moves into Aries at 11:43PM EDT. A Void Moon during the trick or treating hours makes me think of people wandering around lost in the dark, so keep your children close. The Moon's last aspect before the void is a square to Saturn creating inflexibility and a need to follow the rules. This is NOT a good time to use drugs or overindulge in anything. Stay grounded. Keep your wits about you.

Today we also have Venus (strong in her home sign of Libra) sextiling the North Node (in Leo) at 21 degrees. Sextiles represent opportunities and Venus rules love, money, women, our values and self-esteem. At the same time she is, of course, trining (brakes off) the South Node (in Aquarius).

Whatever/whoever (a romance, woman, friendship, group, ideal) leaves now is meant to go. It should go smoothly. With Venus it could be a value or something we believe about ourselves/our situation that has outlived its usefulness.

Stay open to the opportunities that come up.

Maybe something or someone from the past resurfaces now. Maybe this is about carrying something we used to love with us as we journey forward - we are reminded somehow of what we need to keep.

There could be opportunities through women or through working with Venusian themes.

Cooperative efforts within relationships - both personal and business - create future opportunities. Agreements are reached. Relationships started now have a feeling of being fated.

Whatever this is for us, the energy is smooth and pleasant.

Enjoy the day. xo all

Mercury Square the North and South Nodes | mentally stuck, between the past and the future, finding the right words, opening our mind, sibling rivalry, as Jack would say, "you can't handle the truth!"

ncnb by StarofDavid
Today we have Mercury at 21 degrees (in Scorpio) squaring the North Node (in Leo) and the South Node (in Aquarius). The North Node is our collective way forward. The South Node is our collective past. Mercury is our mental abilities, communications and ideas.

As we mentally shift from the old into the new maybe something (a worn out belief about ourselves and the world we don't need to carry anymore) has us stuck. So we are given the gift of this square to bring things to a tension/crisis point and help shift our trajectory.

There is some information/conversation we need to work through or get past now. With Scorpio, it is probably something intimate and uncomfortable.

There is a choice here. We can retreat back into the detachment of that Aquarian South Node - maybe into the safety of being anonymous, of being the audience.

Or we can bravely (Leo) step into whatever this is for us and bring it out into the light and onto center stage.

There could be a fear of speaking out or standing up and apart from the group.

Maybe a new idea has taken root, but it requires us to do something new and unusual.

Maybe there is a truth we are afraid to hear (or speak) because then we will have to deal with it.

And yes, there could be challenges here - this is a square after all.

Remember our North Node is ALWAYS the path forward. So it is through Leo - following our heart, courage, confidence, generosity, showmanship - we move forward now.

That uncomfortably intimate conversation/idea may not be easy to work with. But we aren't getting out of this space - stuck between the future and the past - until we do. Trust yourself.

xo all

Note: since Mercury also rules siblings, our local environment and transportation - there could also be an issue within these themes, or the theme of our natal Scorpio house, that we need to 'get past'. This square is exact today but has been in play for a couple days and will be in play for a couple more.

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of October 30th - rules, regulations, pressure, deadlines, asking for help, remaining open and vulnerable, honesty, letting go, conclusions, the real value of what we are left holding, truth

used goods by lans-bejbe

I am a little under the weather today with two store orders to get out on Monday, so will jump right to the big stuff and do the usual dailies during the week!

The larger celestial happenings start on THURSDAY when Saturn (in Sagittarius) squares Chiron (in Pisces) at 24 degrees.

The Saturn/Chiron square has been one of 2017's biggest aspects and this is our third go-round. We also had this square on December 28, 2016 (21 degrees) and April 30, 2017 (27 degrees). And Saturn and Chiron will square each other again in 2018, but by that time Saturn will be in Capricorn and Chiron will be in Aries - so the story will have shifted.

Squares are tension and change our trajectory. This one could hurt. Maybe we get a 'no' from an authority figure. Or maybe we are required to step into our own authority and say no. It's a good time to remember we learn from experience not from success or failure.

The results of our actions are sometimes out of our hands.

Maybe some obligation or responsibility or debt needs to be lived up to. Maybe some rule is rubbing us the wrong way or limiting us.

Maybe something about whatever hurts here feels familiar. How are our beliefs impacting this situation? What is really true here? When I see Saturn (time) and Chiron (wound) together I think of the old adage "time heals all wounds". Maybe this applies. Or maybe this will apply later.

The good news - and this will sound familiar from last week when Mercury sextiled Pluto! - is that Mercury is trining (brakes off) Chiron at the same time Chiron is squaring Saturn.

Mercury (in Scorpio) is our way through this tangle.

Honest and open dialogue. Thorough research. Deep communication. Conversations about the very stuff we don't want to talk about. The hurt could be something humbling here.

This is the most direct route to the assistance/guidance we need. This is where the buried treasure lies. There could be alternatives, resources and possibilities we hadn't thought about. At the very least there is room for understanding if we allow ourselves to be exposed and vulnerable - and yes, I realize the nights are getting chilly and this is the last thing we might want to be!

The Moon will go void at 12:03PM EDT until midnight. Not a good time for launching anything new or sending anything out you need something to "come of".

Late FRIDAY/early SATURDAY we have the Full Moon in Taurus (Sun in Scorpio).

The Sun and Moon are squaring Ceres (in Leo). The Moon will be sextiling (opportunity) Neptune (retrograde in Pisces). The Sun will be trining (brakes off) Neptune. At the same time Venus (in Libra and the ruler of Taurus and this Full Moon) will be opposing Uranus (in Aries). And Uranus will be trining (brakes off) Saturn. We'll discuss it more thoroughly later in the week - this could all be about one thing for us or play out in multiple situations.

Full Moons are culmination points. They bring things to light. They brings things to a conclusion. They send us howling into the night.

The positive aspects with watery Neptune tells us that anything running through our hands now (dissolving) is meant to go. Its release will free up our hands for more solid holdings.

With Uranus (the unexpected) opposing the Moon's ruler Venus whatever is coming to light or concluding now could be surprising or pull us off into an entirely new direction.

Some people will get lucky. Something could reach its maximum value now.

Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius and I am going to stop writing we are moving into the Age of Aquarius and just say we are in it! I think we can all feel this. There is no "normal" anymore. There is only change and resistance to change.

That square with nurturing Ceres tips us off to potential tension regarding motherhood or growth or security issues.

Again the Taurus/Scorpio contrast between what we have and what we want/need/don't have. We will talk about this later in the week.

Will be back with the dailies.

BIG xo all

Note - Pisces Moons on Monday (beginning mid-morning) and Tuesday are excellent energy for dreaming, creative work, connecting with people on a deeper level - also to drift off-course. Keep this in mind.

Venus Square Pluto | Mercury Sextile Pluto - wanting what we can't have, wanting what someone else has, wanting more, deep thinking, honest communications, what our yearnings are trying to show us

shhh by theluckynine
See the weekly forecast HERE

Today, we have Venus (strong in Libra) squaring (tension) Pluto (in Capricorn) at 17 degrees with Mercury (in Scorpio) sextiling (opportunity) Pluto. If you have been watching the beautiful waxing Moon, it probably won't surprise you that we also have the first quarter Moon (in Aquarius).

Pluto squares are about power, passion, control and truth.

Maybe we don't have something we want and with Venus we will be feeling the space that sits empty/maybe stagnant with our longing - there could be manipulation, obsession, compulsion, power plays involved here.

These are the emotional reactions that tell us something deeper is going on - within us. We have squashed something down that we don't want to look at and now it is rearing its head in misshapen ways. Likely coming out through relationship issues, financial issues or issues involving women (or beauty/aging). Calling out for attention. Calling out for communication.

Maybe we want more than is even possible from a situation/person. Maybe we are comparing ourselves to other people. Maybe our ambitions with something are not in line with divine timing.

Whatever this is, the opportunity (sextile) lies with today's Plutonian contact with Mercury (communication, conversation, local environment, siblings, transportation, information, thoughts). Something from that Mercurian word salad, most-likely the "communication, thinking" themes present the real opportunity for growth here.

This isn't so much about getting what we want as it is about looking at why we really want it. Venus has been a big player in 2017, none of this is really new news. It could be a fresh situation though. Maybe not.

Think through what is happening. Think about what you are feeling. When have you felt this way before? What is this current situation really stirring up? What are you really afraid of? Maybe this kind of thinking process is enough. Maybe this thinking needs to shared/communicated with another person, though not necessarily the person you are dealing with (if that is what is happening).

Maybe a mentor or authority figure (maybe an actual Capricorn person).

Maybe after working it through ourselves mentally, an honest/open discourse within the relationship/other people involved will allow us to figure out what is really going on. The energy may not be quite ripe for a solution, but maybe the tension (the square) can be diluted enough that we can all sleep at night.

Today's energy could push yesterday's optimism into the "punch drunk" territory. Keep this in mind.

We also have the first quarter square Moon (in Aquarius). Whatever started at last week's New Moon - and something ALWAYS starts, the reason we set our intentions is to have some input - hits an obstacle.

With Aquarius we could need to consider outside points of view or maybe what we are doing isn't meeting with the approval of others. If we are feeling defensive or defiant - take a breath. This might require some flexibility and Aquarius is fixed air - not wanting to bend. Can we bend without breaking? Without losing control? Not because we are doing anything wrong, but because maybe there is a better way we can't see through the dense Aquarian "know-it-all" energy.

And yet we need to follow our heart here. This isn't about tossing away our authenticity, but let's stay flexible. We can't bend so much we snap in two like a twig, but we can't remain so stiff we will surely break anyway. The first quarter Moon is the time of adjustment. So adjust.

The Aquarius Moon every month is good energy to work with people via the internet and attend to independent online work.

Sun Conjunct Jupiter | do you feel lucky, hidden resources coming to light, if more isn't better, staying positive, when you change the way you look at things the things you look at change, taking action, doing something new

by raetselleben

The Sun meets up with expansive Jupiter at 3 degrees Scorpio today.

See the weekly forecast HERE where we explore the "lucky" aspect of this transit. We all kick off a new Jupiter cycle and if you have a birthday this week you will be exploring this Sun/Jupiter energy all year! You lucky duck you!

A light (the Sun) shines on a Scorpion theme (or the theme of our natal Scorpio house) and it expands in a Jupiterian way. Something is growing here. Likely our optimism about a particular situation. With the Sun exposing Jupiter, ruler of our beliefs - we have the chance to change/expand our world-view to improve a situation.

This is all happening in Scorpio and Scorpio rules the taboo. The stuff we have pushed down deep and don't really want to look at. Certainly the stuff we don't talk about in polite society; sex, death, taxes. In Scorpio, we merge - ourselves and our resources with other people.

Maybe, something in the shadows is brought into the light now. The Jupiterian energy creates expansion and - although it doesn't offer a notarized guarantee of a positive outcome - due to the power of positive thinking, usually things will turn out well in the long run.

Maybe an opportunity or resource we hadn't previously considered comes to our attention now.

We could find we have more power than we thought we did or more additional outside help

(possibly even via a Santa Claus figure - Jupiter - or a father figure - the Sun).

This is excellent energy to get something started. Do you know the theme of your natal Scorpio house? There is a natural fresh start offered there, but any area of life can benefit from a kick-off that carries this powerhouse combination.

The fly in the ointment with Sun/Jupiter in Scorpio is that problems can get magnified and grow now, too. Expansion sounds good in theory, but much depends on what is expanding! And more isn't always better. Remember the jam study.

The good news for us - bad news for the fly - is the very fact this situation has our attention and energy NOW tells us there are opportunities ripe for development in here somewhere.

Cast a wider net. Stay positive.

There could be a connection with information from the October 18th Mercury/Jupiter conjunction. Something there gains traction here.

It's important to remember Jupiter is a planet made up entirely of gases. We could take something too far over-the-top now. That's what this energy is pushing us to do - to take a chance, to go for it.

The Moon is in stable Capricorn today, but by tomorrow will be in anything-can-happen Aquarius and we could be moving far outside our comfort zones especially in regard to money and relationship situations. Keep in mind we are flying in a hot air balloon.

By Saturday/Sunday our Jupiterian optimism could be as deflated as the balloon which has now landed. I hesitate to even write this, since I am sure some readers with strong Virgo or Saturn placements will see this as a stop sign. It isn't.

The balloon has given us a wonderful view of possibilities. These are real things.

Every move we make, every chance we take, shifts our current timeline (and yes, I'll be watching you*).

By next week we will have a better view of where this all stands. The Sun will have "enlightened" us, Jupiter will have expanded the situation and we will be ready to take action.

Please don't take this as a call to sit back and wait until next week.

Life doesn't work this way. What we do today impacts next week. And the weeks after that. We can only connect the dots looking backward, never forward (who said that? Steve Jobs I think). We can't see how everything is falling into place until later.

The North Node is still in brave and heart-centered Leo - move toward what your heart wants.

The Moon is in Capricorn. Let's get to work - our potential for success is greatly increased now. And let's buy a lottery ticket, too, because you never know ....

* although now that I think about the Police lyrics they may not fit terrible well - still a good song though.

And speaking of police, Olive's barking yesterday afternoon alerted me to a 'police situation' in my own backyard - well, front yard. A storm was kicking up and I usually ignore Olive's barking during storms since she gets stressed and uber-determined to alert me to anything that moves out there, even something like a blowing piece of paper. She barks at the window and then runs toward me. Back and forth. Again and again. And again.

For some reason I got up and went to the window to see what intruder ie lost receipt she was barking at this time.

There was a line of about 10 policemen dressed in black riot gear sneaking along my neighbor's fence (across the street). Their movements were in unison almost like a marching band, but instead of oboes and tubas they were carrying guns and shields. It was gut wrenching for a moment there.

I should mention I live in a very quiet, very small town and this particular house is right next to the town hall which contains the state police barracks!

The police proceeded to break in my neighbor's front door and charge into the house. Of course, I went upstairs for a better view and pulled over a chair, cursing myself for having sold George's old binoculars at the yard sale (every single time I sell something I haven't used in 15 years I need it. what the hell is that?).

Anyhoo, they proceed to, I assume, since I can't see what is happening inside the house, this particular neighbor always has their blinds closed - tear the place apart for a few hours.

The police finally leave. I can't tell if any of my neighbors leave with them because the action had moved to the side of the house out of my view.

The front door opens and I can see the outline of someone inside the house. They look like they are fiddling with the broken lock, etc (I should say I wasn't sitting and watching all morning, but I did seem to be looking at all the right times!). Suddenly a GIANT cross drops from over top of the front door and hangs there on a rope. Like a two foot tall cross. On a door that has never even held a holiday wreath.

I am thinking this is either a prayer to the Gods to leave them in peace or a signal to someone that the place isn't safe to enter, the way red crosses on doors would alert outsiders that sick people were in a house and not to come in. It's very ... odd.

I don't know these neighbors. And there is a wide assortment of them in different ages. The women all seem to go to work (or they go somewhere fairly regularly, sometimes with children buckled into carseats). The men all seem to walk uptown for cigarettes and coffee and then slink back into the house. They were friendly enough during the Memorial Day Parade when they gave Sully the candy they collected from the marchers who tossed toward their side of the street.

I have been googling 'drug bust farmingdale nj' but so far nothing. Maybe the drug bust was a bust.

There seems to be fewer cars over there. Of course, hubs has been suspicious of them since they moved in and now feels vindicated. His suspicions were mostly due to his thinking that 1. there are just too many of them and 2. one of the bedroom window's lights is too bright and on all the time. That nothing good/legal could be happening in a bedroom that well-lit.

I am not so sure. I tend to think most of the time it's the hidden stuff we have to watch out for. Except I can't anymore because I sold those damn binoculars!

At least I have my 18 pound guard dog to alert me when my neighbors get arrested ... or a slip of paper drifts into our yard. And hubs to keep an eye out for bright lights and suspicious groups of people. Now I just need to hunt up a new pair of binoculars ... probably at someone else's garage sale.

Mercury trine Neptune | instinctual decisions, healing conversations, sensitivity, creativity, compassion, connection, fantasy, facts are slippery, softening our words, silence is golden, body language

Us by goodmuiscgoodpeople

Today we have Mercury (in Scorpio) trining (brakes off) Neptune (in Pisces) at 11 degrees.

Our greatest ease comes through connecting these two energies.

Maybe we make decisions (Mercury) using our intuition/imagination (Pisces) - I wouldn't make any BIG decisions with today's energy though - since the truth could be slippery. Maybe something we hear or read or say (Mercury) is healing/connecting (Pisces). Maybe the answers (Mercury) come through meditation and prayer (Pisces). Maybe our thinking (Mercury) is creative (Pisces). Maybe it is time to speak (Mercury) our dreams (Neptune) out loud.

If we are talking about or learning about (Mercury) Piscean/Neptunian subject matter - healing, spirituality, art, poetry, music, photography, addiction issues, escapist tendencies, etc - our mind won't be focused on the details, but we will be able to feel the bigger picture here.

Maybe without focusing on the dots, the dots can finally be connected.

Our senses, especially if not fogged up with sugar (at least in my case), are heightened now. We know what people are really saying no matter what words they are using and other people will be picking up on the subtle, often unconscious, clues we are putting out.

So, if someone says to us today, "why are you so angry?" and at first we think they are nuts and we are not angry. Well, maybe we will stop - we have the benefit of astrology! - and go a little deeper (scan our body for tension, feel their words instead of immediately discounting them). They could be picking up on something we are not wanting to look at/talk about. On the other hand with Mercury trine Neptune - they could actually be nuts. It will be hard to tell. :)

Silence could speak louder than words now. Really listen.

Mercury and Neptune are sextiling Juno (in Capricorn).

So, today's communication is likely to offer the greatest opportunities (sextile) within partnerships (Juno ruled) - both personal and business (Capricorn).

Contracts and commitments can be talked about in a way that is connecting rather than alienating now. Both parties can feel heard. Our dreams can merge together. Scorpian secrets and taboo subject matter (Mercury is in Scorpio, don't forget) can be discussed.

There is alot of water involved so emotions could run high. The sextile to Capricorn should stabilize the whole thing though and the energies involved should help soothe the situation.

Mars is in Libra - nobody really wants to fight now anyway.

We truly are all in this together.

Remember, see the weekly forecast HERE, that the Sagittarius Moon goes void from 12:44PM EDT to 8:12PM EDT and then moves into Capricorn. You know the drill with that one.

Sun into Scorpio | what makes your heart beat so hard in your chest that you fear it will explode like a ripe watermelon tossed off the back of a moving truck - do more of THAT

.everything else by corollary

See the weekly forecast HERE.

Late, last night the Sun moved from Libra into deep and murky Scorpio (and my Scorpio friend tells me she wants me to find words other than deep and murky, but really what other words are there - ha!).

With Jupiter recently ingressed into Scorpio, too, the Sun and Jupiter will be traveling close together (exact on Thursday) for the next few days.

Through November 2018 - Jupiter in Scorpio - what we do in the dark/what we carry in the shadows expands. During the Sun in Scorpio season (through November 21st) a light is thrown on this stuff. Likely through a greater intimacy with someone else/other people. And also through a greater intimacy with ourselves.

Trust issues and control issues bubble up. Mars is in Libra as of yesterday shifting our energy toward shared experiences.

Scorpio is about passion. What are we passionate about? What makes us excited? What makes us so angry we see red? What makes our heart thump so hard in our chest that we fear explosion?

I have a Scorpio friend, yes, the same one solidly opposed to "dark and murky" who told me she is most passionate about time alone with a good book.

Well, maybe this is a time for her to admit this need to herself openly - schedule a good chunk of weekly time to read (rather than a few minutes here and there while waiting in the car for her kids), schedule time to research for good books, leisurely visit the library, join a book club, etc.

She could think about the subject matter she is most passionate about - in her case, European history. How can she take her passion with that deeper? How can she use her passion to deepen her connection with other people?

Since Neptune square Saturn - the major transit of 2016 - it has been hard to know what is true. It has actually always been hard/impossible to know what is true (because we are all looking out through different eyes and seeing different things), but since last year everyone has pretty much been awake to this.

It has created a great deal of instability and discomfort for all of us and in particular for people who need things to be black and white.

People who need to be right. People who need to be good. People who need to be in control. Where is Capricorn in your natal chart? Where is Virgo? Where is Saturn? We all carry this energy to a greater or lesser extent.

And, of course, we can only be right when we label someone else as wrong and we can only be good when we label someone else as bad. Without scapegoats we would actually have to own our own crap. And no matter how many New Age books tell us otherwise we will never really be in control during our days on Planet Earth.

There are probably other realities for that.

The more I look at astrology charts and the more I talk to people about them, the clearer it becomes that our road maps (natal charts) and the subsequent transits over the course of our lives to those road maps are more relevant and more nuanced than we could ever imagine. Our beliefs, the way we see the world (our natal chart) become our reality, our way of connecting with the world, and then the world reacts/responds to us.

Maybe the biggest question we all face right now is how to live our own truth, even when that truth is not supported by other people and even when that truth does not support other people. Ouch. What is it we want that we don't want to look at/own up to?

And just as important - how can we hold a space for other people to live their truth even when we do not agree with them? Even when it hurts us. More ouch.

Modern life is not for sissies.

We are living in the days between the Age of Pisces (religion, patriarchy) and the Age of Aquarius (science, equality).

We can see far enough ahead now to understand that we could get this science/equality thing very wrong, very fast, if we are not careful.

If we lose our heart (Leo). If we lose our connection to our passion (Scorpio).  If we lose our connection to each other (Neptune). It is Pisces that rules our eternal connection, spirituality, love. Aquarius rules disconnection and chaos. What do we really need to carry with us because there is only so much room on the ark.

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of October 23rd - do you feel lucky?, hidden resources coming to light, pulling back the curtain, taboos, obsessing about what we don't have or can't control

respire by edlyytam

I didn't get the chance to write a post for SUNDAY but we have a couple energetic shifts today!

Late tonight the Sun moves into deep, dark Scorpio kicking off Scorpio season (although you might have been feeling this since Jupiter got here last week) and earlier today Mars moved into diplomatic Libra.

Mars isn't such a happy camper in Libra. Libra is the sign opposite the sign Mars rules (Aries) and Mars is considered in his detriment in Libra. Libra is all about balance and cooperation and fairness and Mars doesn't care about any of these things. He wants what he wants and goes about getting it in the most expedient fashion ... except now he can't. Because he is answering to Libra's ruler, Venus and she does care about those things.

The good news with this transit is we will be quick to confront imbalances and injustice. We can be very persuasive. The fly in the ointment with this is we could be too intent on having other people live by our rules. Mars in Libra can be domineering and dysfunctional and on the flipside we don't want to lose our identity (Mars) to someone else (Libra). We, particularly Martian ruled Aries and Scorpios, could be a bit less assertive and less energetic over the next few weeks. Give yourself a break.

In Libra, Mars expresses himself (anger, initiative, passion, action) through other people. Our actions create reactions. And other people's actions create a reaction in us. The reactions will be how we all move forward. It's all a bit passive aggressive. The grenades we throw will be immediately tossed back at us. Ball's in our court ... again. Duck and cover.

It will be easy to get mad at the wrong person now. Or people could be mad at us when they are really angry about something/someone else.

Keep this in mind. Mars will be in Libra until December 9th.

On MONDAY, the Moon will be in optimistic Sagittarius. We could be focused on Sagittarius themes - higher education, travel, foreign issues, legal issues, politics, media, publishing, our beliefs, religion or weddings. The Moon connects with both Venus (women, love, money, self-esteem, values) and Neptune (imagination, dreams, escape, things/people put away, addiction, spirituality, compassion) making this a good day for meditation, philanthropic and creative work.

On TUESDAY, Mercury (in Scorpio) trines (brakes off) Neptune (in Pisces). This is our mental processes and our imagination working together. If we can dream it we can begin it - remember the Moon is waxing - that's energy to get things started (just not during today's Void Moon!). This is some of the energy at play when Donald Trump announced his run for the Presidency. What can we do with it? This would be a good time to announce (Mercury) our dream (Neptune). State it out loud. Write it down. We could have a good idea today or a terribly impractical one, but it is good energy for idea making either way.

Conversations could have a mystical or other-worldly energy to them as we can connect more easily with other people. Taboo subjects and the stuff behind the curtain will be talked about. The Moon goes Void from 12:46PM EDT to 8:13PM EDT, so a BIG chunk of the workday  - don't start anything new during this time or put anything out there that you want 'something to come of'. At dinnertime the Moon moves into Capricorn. Maybe take the afternoon off and get to work after the kids go to bed.

On WEDNESDAY, the Capricorn Moon has us focused and ready to get to work. We are structured today and able to plan ahead and use our time wisely. People will be very goal-oriented. This is a good time for dealing with authority figures and for stepping into our own authority. The Moon will sextile (opportunity) both dreamy Neptune and communicative Mercury today, so the opportunities come through talking and connecting with people now.

On THURSDAY, we have what some astrologers call THE LUCKIEST DAY OF THE YEAR as the Sun meets up with Jupiter. Happening in Scorpio this year, and since Jupiter in Scorpio focused us on a Hollywood sex scandal, there will probably be more stories like this coming to light now.

Whatever came to light/started/changed in our personal lives around October 18th when Mercury met up with Jupiter will gain momentum now, too.

Jupiter rules the truth and the truth will not be contained - even as it becomes more and more obviously subjective. We won't be contained either. We will want wide open spaces today. The places where we are penned in could feel particularly tight as we outgrow existing boundaries. People will be feeling loud and proud. Be optimistic. We attract what we put out. This is a good day for business - reach out for opportunities. We will all be feeling expansive - so will the people we are reaching toward. Hidden resources could come to light now. Don't overspend because Jupiter can get carried away, but buy a lottery ticket (one!). Make the call. Send the email. Take a chance.

What the hell. Are you feelin' lucky?

On FRIDAY, Venus (in Libra) squares Pluto (in Capricorn). Squares are about crisis - this will be about power, control, obsession, money, women, love, our values or self-esteem. Pluto will make sure we are feeling/obsessing over/trying to control the situation. The answer to the crisis can be found within Pluto's sextile (opportunity) with Mercury (in Scorpio). Take a closer look at the facts. And then look again. Get out the magnifiers - yes, the 2.5 pair you only wear when no one is looking. With Scorpio we have to look beneath the surface to what is really happening, even toward what isn't happening or isn't being said. Clear your head. Talk it through. It could be that life or death situation isn't nearly as dire as we thought it was and that thing we think we can't live without is actually not all that after all. Just sayin'.

xo all - back with the dailies!!

New Moon in Libra Opposite Uranus | freedom to be yourself within your relationships, need for space, meeting someone unusual, existing balances are disrupted

Time against Sunset by hellolikegoodbye

The Sun and Moon meet up this afternoon, 3:12 PM EDT, at 26 degrees Libra. They will be exactly opposing Uranus at 26 degrees Aries.

This is powerful fresh start energy focused on our relationships (and the polarity themes of your natal Aries and Libra houses) - how do we remain true to ourselves, and express our authenticity and independence, within new and existing partnerships.

A new person could come into our lives (likely under unusual circumstances or the person will be unusual in some way) or a current relationship could get a fresh start.

This is a Libra New Moon ruled by Venus - it is not so much about breaking relationships bonds (although it could be) as it is about breaking stifling stereotypes and limits.

Whatever space within ourselves we have been squashing to please someone else is about to make an appearance and things that have been squashed don't always look so pretty. Venus likes to keep things pretty and it is her Moon, but Uranus is pushing another agenda. And it's one where we get to be ourselves within our relationships (Libra has great say here, too). This doesn't mean all by ourselves in the corner!

The Sun and Moon are conjunct asteroid Karma. Fresh starts and new beginnings have extra significance. Whatever is happening now probably has extra significance.

So, we've got this New Moon in beatific and balanced Libra wanting something new and balanced for us and this aspect to Uranus adding something jolting, surprising and dare I say liberating into the mix.

New developments could hit quickly, maybe from totally out of the blue and likely disrupt existing balances.

This opposition can also represent an actual person or group or system with Uranian qualities (think : genius, rebel, criminal) or maybe someone we are dealing with through the internet since Uranus rules that space, who is literally standing in our way.

This is wild-card energy. It could spark an uncharted direction for us or create abrupt change.

It could push/pull/drop kick us toward greater freedom. It could even empower us with a "cause".

Ruts can be escaped. Think about what would need to happen in your own life to create these kind of changes and then expect ... something else to happen. Ack!

You will feel this energy strongest if you have any planets or points in cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) near 26 degrees.

We have had Uranus in Aries for the last few years determined to wake us up individually. With this energy exactly touching the balance-seeking Libra New Moon energy today - maybe we can be waking up in tandem with other people now!

So we kick off whatever change is kicking off THEN we move toward finding balance. Fast starts require imbalance - think about the way runners standing at the starting line are all LEANING FORWARD. There is a reason they do that, but if they didn't MOVE and just continued to hold that position they would eventually fall on their faces, right?

Don't think too far ahead. Can we just open ourselves to new connections without worrying where all this is leading? Uranus says, "yes, try that for a change".

Here's a rundown by sign. If you know your natal Libra house check that - check your Sun and Rising sign and we could all resonate a bit with Aries since the theme is universal.

As always use what helps and toss the rest. Don't take my word for it since I am not looking at your individual chart and can't be guaranteed to know what I am talking about anyway. Your life is your own - especially with Uranus opposing the Sun and Moon.

ARIES (Libra 7th house) - a new relationship could be unexpected, an existing relationship could be shaken by unexpected circumstances. Mars is moving into this space on Sunday making this even more of a focus but giving you the energy to deal with it. This house is ruled by Libra you will likely need to cooperate.

TAURUS (Libra 6th house) - a new work obligation, co-worker, change in routine or change with your health could be unexpected or something within these existing themes is shaken by unexpected (or previously hidden) circumstances. Mars is moving into this space on Sunday making this even more of a focus but giving you the energy to deal with it. This house is ruled by Virgo you will likely need to cross your t's and dot your i's and focus on the details.

GEMINI (Libra 5th house) - a new romance, children's issues, pregnancy or creative project could be unexpected or something within these existing themes is shaken by unexpected circumstances. Mars is moving into this space on Sunday making this even more of a focus but giving you the energy to deal with it. This house is ruled by Leo encouraging your need for play, creativity and credit. Be brave.

CANCER (Libra 4th house) - a new development within your home, family or change within your career that impacts your home and family life could be unexpected. Mars is moving into this space on Sunday making this even more of a focus but giving you the energy to deal with it. This house is ruled by Cancer so a focus on where and how you live, who you live with and how you balance this with your public/professional life is likely.

LEO (Libra 3rd house) - a new conversation, communication or information that comes in could be unexpected or require you to make a fast/unexpected decision. Your own decisions and words could shake-up other people. There could also be unexpected events within your local neighborhood or in the life of a sibling. Mars is moving into this space on Sunday making this area of life even more of a focus but giving you the energy to deal with it. This house is ruled by Gemini so an ability to do more than one thing at a time, talk, teach, learn and keep things moving comes with the territory.

VIRGO (Libra 2nd house) - a new development with the money you earn, your existing resources, your values or self-esteem could be unexpected (good or bad) or events involving other people's money - spouse's income, loans, debts, taxes, inheritance - could impact your own income, values or self-esteem. Mars is moving into this space on Sunday making this area of life even more of a focus but giving you the energy to deal with it. This house is ruled by Taurus so steady, practical use of existing resources is helpful.

LIBRA (Libra 1st house) - this kicks off a brand new chapter for you in regard to your appearance, brand, public identity or style of living - events could be unexpected or the speed of events could catch you off guard. Mars is moving into this space on Sunday making this area of life even more of a focus but giving you the energy to deal with it. This house is ruled by Aries so action, initiative, courage and passion will move this forward. You might have to do the heavy lifting yourself.

SCORPIO (Libra 12th house) - a new development behind the scenes, secrets kept or revealed or an unexpected event regarding a background issue, possible influenced by a 6th house health or work issue comes to light although some information may still be unavailable. This is time to plan and ready yourself for change, but maybe wait a bit before acting on what you know if you can, since you don't have all the info/energy you need. Mars is moving into this space on Sunday making this area of life even more of a focus but giving you the energy to deal with it. This house is ruled by Pisces so imagination, prayer, spirituality and creativity will help - addiction, drifting off course and lies will just create more fuzziness.

SAGITTARIUS (Libra 11th house) - something new with friends/groups, your social life could be unexpected or other people's reaction to something you "put out there" could be surprising (good or bad). Mars is moving into this space on Sunday making this area of life even more of a focus but giving you the energy to deal with it. This house is ruled by Aquarius so staying true to yourself, trying something new and unique, while remaining detached from outcomes within your social activities should help.

CAPRICORN (Libra 10th house) - a new development within your career could be unexpected and out of the blue or a home/family issue could hit unexpectedly that impacts your career. Mars is moving into this space on Sunday making this area of life even more of a focus but giving you the energy to deal with it. This house is ruled by Capricorn making you more ambitious, goal-oriented and able to exercise patience (time is on your side) with whatever this is you are dealing with.

AQUARIUS (Libra 9th house) - a new development regarding higher education, foreign matters, legal issues, travel, media, publishing, a wedding could be unexpected. Mars is moving into this space on Sunday making this area of life even more of a focus but giving you the energy to deal with it. This house is ruled by Sagittarius so optimism, honesty and generosity pushes this situation forward. Avoid carelessness and impatience.

PISCES (Libra 8th house) - a new development with your shared resources or other people's money or intimacy is unexpected. Power struggles or a power shift within your relationships is possible now as these changes kick off. Mars is moving into this space on Sunday making this area of life even more of a focus but giving you the energy to deal with it. This house is ruled by Scorpio so having the courage to go deep and really look at and work with these complex issues will move this forward. Avoid control issues and manipulation.

MONTHLY AFFIRMATION TIPS:
Get grounded - we have moved from an earth sign into air so this is important - always make affirmations from a  positive place (positive meaning certain).

It is a good idea, since the New Moon is literally a blank sheet, to work in a clean, uncluttered space and maybe right after a bath or shower. Alone is probably best. Doing this with someone else, even when you appear to have the same agenda, could dilute your own personal best outcome (which is the only thing you have any power with here).

I find affirmations are most effective if I speak less on New Moon days so my words will hold more weight when I need them to. I usually burn a white candle to help me focus and thin the veils between me and me. It also helps to channel ancestral energy a bit since I am always thinking as I move my story forward, their story moves forward with me.

Write your affirmations down by hand in cursive, we want the letters all connecting and flowing together. Speak the words out loud.

I used to write my affirmations on strips of paper and put them into a bowl of rice so I could mix them around every now and then with my fingers if things got stagnant. Last year I decided to burn them. I have written them on rocks and buried them.

This month I'm going to write my affirmations

(astrologer Jan Spiller recommends writing 10, but I have found myself stretching to do that or writing the same things every month which feels silly, so I have worked my way down to 3 which feels like a powerful number to me)

on my chalkboard while burning a white candle - when the candle burns out, all by itself - don't burn your house down - I erase the words first and then clean the blackboard with water.

Some people store them until the corresponding Full Moon (in this case during Aries season) and burn them then. Do what feels right.

I don't think it's terribly important what we do with our writings as long as we are not pulling them out and checking on them all the time. Setting intentions is like baking a cake - checking on how things are going just slows things down.

We are not handing a honey do list to the universe! We are lining up with the universal energies of creation here.

And I wouldn't be sharing them with other people, which also feels like it dilutes the process or pulls them into our story. I was writing them on my blog for a few months, as examples for people, and that definitely wasn't helpful.

Then - and this is the important part - release your attention from your words knowing your intention is known.

Know these things are already yours.

xo all

The Moon goes void after the New Moon so wait until at least 9:41PM EDT tonight to do your intentions or until you see a sliver of Moon in the sky (can be tricky with weather). The Moon will be in alignment with fortuitous Jupiter for the next couple days, so get this done!

Mercury into Scorpio | secrets come out, uncomfortable conversations, mining for gold, research, solving puzzles, truth, dead and buried

Deep by Sarachmet
The planet of communication (Mercury) ingresses into the sign of power, transformation and secrets (Scorpio) until November 5th.

This is excellent energy for deep (Scorpio) investigation/research (Mercury).

Instead of learning/thinking/communicating about a little of this and a little of that, now is the time to go "all in" with a subject we are passionate about.

Our mind can focus. Multi-tasking will be harder because our intellect will want to sit with one thing for longer than we usually do.

Maybe we will finally get that crossword puzzle done!

I recommend the Netflix series Mindhunter for Mercury in Scorpio season. Good. And smart. And dark. Not for everyone, but I (Scorpio rising) am engrossed. Also, I love (and miss) the late 70's - sniffle.

We will be getting to the bottom of things and will not be satisfied with Libra's (Mercury's last stop) conversational civilities. We'll want to know, and think/talk about, what is really happening. It won't always be comfortable.

The hard truths won't be blurted out spontaneously - we will have to dig for them. Decide first if you really want to know what is hiding underneath because Plutonian authenticity is not only transformational - it is permanent. There is no going back to "not knowing". Mysteries can be solved. The truth could come out. Secrets can be languaged and spoken out loud.

(#metoo)

Difficult conversations will create deeper levels of intimacy now. If you are dating someone and you have sex (also Scorpio ruled) with them you can never go back to not having sex with them even if you never have sex with them again. The intimacy is still there. It will be like this with our words now.

And once we know the information - we own it. It's our move (with Scorpio the move might be internal). It changes who we are and we ignore who we are at our own peril.

Careless language (disrespect for ourselves and others) and our careless treatment of other people's words (and their reaction to ours) will be karmic. Keep this in mind.

There could be battles for mental supremacy and mind games during this transit.

People prone to manipulation could be extremely effective (or someone will finally see right to the bottom of what we are doing - maybe that someone will be ourselves). This is a time to take a good, long look at what we are really seeking when we are trying to make a situation/person behave in a way that pleases us. Think about it. There are gold nuggets to be mined now. Even tiny specks can be used to create great fortunes. Scorpio rules our inheritance.

The fly in the ointment here is that we might think we are mining for gold when we are really just obsessing on the same old same old. Scorpio rules obsession and compulsion and our minds could easily go there now. Notice it. Don't judge it. Think about - "what does it mean that I keep thinking about this?". Scorpio rules death, too. It's not only what we dig up, but what we put into the ground that matters now.

Maybe some words/language/story needs to be put to rest.

Almost as soon as Mercury gets into Scorpio he/she connects with Jupiter (tomorrow) also recently ingressed into Scorpio.

There could be some big or over-the-top news/information - maybe an exaggeration or maybe a truth shouted out loud. It might be hard to tell which is which if we only listen with our ears, but our Plutonian instincts (stronger in some people than others, but we all have Scorpio and Pluto somewhere in our charts) will recognize the TRUTH now.

There is a message this week (or maybe last week) about what this first leg of our journey through Jupiter in Scorpio will be about.

I'd say "pay attention" but Jupiter will make it hard to miss.

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of October 16th - commitments, intimate conversations, big news, shocking news, curve balls, a tipping point, buttons get pushed, decision time

paciwaucie2. by polish-girl

Big Libra/Scorpio focus this week, so it will be all about our relationships, partnerships, agents, clients (Libra) and power, money, intimacy, reproduction, death, rebirth, other people's resources ie debts, inheritances, loans, taxes, spouse's income, etc (Scorpio). It will be about the themes of our natal Libra and Scorpio houses.

On MONDAY, the Sun (in Libra) sextiles Saturn (in Sagittarius). Sextiles are opportunities, but if we blink we miss them. I don't mean we have to proceed quickly, not with this one - with Saturn time is always on our side. But when a door opens easily or things fall together without a whole lot of struggle we might not even notice something has shifted in our favor. We don't always take advantage of the good energy. It slips away ...

This sextile is about making a commitment, stepping into a responsibility, dealing with an authority figure or working with a mentor. It is about something solid that puts us on more stable ground. Working toward our goals in a self-disciplined way is favored and can bring lasting rewards. Our relationships and/or Sagittarius themes could be highlighted - travel, higher education, media, publishing, weddings, political issues or legal issues.

Today's waning Moon is in organized and service-oriented Virgo and trining (brakes off) Pluto (in Capricorn) - good for getting work done, helping others through our own inner strength and releasing attachment to clutter - paperwork, emails, unfinished business that will never be finished and hangs over our head like incomplete homework assignments, situations that have trailed off ...

On TUESDAY, Mercury moves into Scorpio (post to follow) until November 6th. Here he/she will give voice to truth, spill some secrets, engage in some intimate conversations - words could be transformational. We will be discovering new information, exploring it and processing it ...  deeply. No one will be satisfied with light chitchat or superficial answers. If we ask someone how they are doing we should be prepared to hear something beyond "fine".

Now, this transit lasts a few weeks and with the Moon's move into Libra mid-morning we might not feel Scorpio's intensity with our communications until the Moon moves out of Libra and into Scorpio later in the week.

The Moon is void until 1:35PM EDT. Don't start anything new or send anything out into the world you want something to "come of" before that time. If you are filing a late tax return - this morning would be the perfect time to mail it (since you don't want anything to come of it!).

On WEDNESDAY, Mercury conjuncts Jupiter - both recently ingressed into Scorpio. We can expect some news now about what Jupiter's transit through Scorpio will be about. A big news day. Conversations are expansive and/or there are many of them. This is wonderful energy to begin a new course of study. Here is the forest (Jupiter) and the trees (Mercury) - the big picture and the small details - working together. Words, ideas, communications could have a SUBSTANTIAL IMPACT.

On THURSDAY, we have the New Moon in Libra (post to follow). With both the Sun and Moon in opposition to unpredictable Uranus (in independent Aries) - this New Moon is a definite boat-rocker.

The focus for some people will be on their relationships - there will be break-ups and spaces that get broken open. This New Moon cycle promises abrupt changes. Maybe something starts faster than we were expecting it to. Maybe a snap decision is required or news or changes hits us out of the blue. We could meet someone very unusual now - an Aquarian or someone with Aquarian traits (think genius, rebel, criminal).

Curve balls will be thrown. Have your mitt ready. It could be exciting or rattling or both.

This Moon might encourage us to do something totally out of character, especially if we have been repressing something that needs to be expressed. Take a deep breath and think it through. There will be a way to handle this without tossing the baby out with the bathwater. But probably that bathwater has to go. Expect rebellion.

With the Aries/Libra polarity triggered - this could be about us incorporating something new (Uranus) into our identity (Aries) or more freedom (Uranus) within our relationships (Libra).

What this energy really wants is to break through the stagnant spaces and dishonest civilities in order to create true balance. A tipping point is reached - something is going over. We will know what isn't stable because it will be shaking. Financial and emotional investments will be weighed out.

There is an inconjunct (something that can't be reconciled) to wounded healer Chiron bumping into our tender spaces, childhood wounds, vulnerabilities and fears. I will do a post by sign.

The Moon goes void at 3:12 PM EDT.

On FRIDAY, the Moon (in Scorpio) will conjunct Mercury in the morning - here is where those conversations get more intimate, our focus more laser, our thinking more in line with our emotions and goes on to trine Neptune in the early evening - healing, creativity, less boundaries.

On SUNDAY, Mars joins the Libra party adding energy (maybe enthusiasm and initiative, maybe anger or blunt force) to our New Moon situation. Mars is in his detriment in Libra - unstable and creating movement through other people. So if we need to get mad or take some action, but we don't, then other people might act this out for us by getting mad at us! Or they will take some action we are subconsciously wanting to take. We will unconsciously trigger this.

(Did I ever write about the Saturday morning I had three different people 'give me the finger' within two hours - three different traffic situations and before you go thinking I must need driving lessons - which I might actually since I still can't parallel park without at least a dozen moves back and forth - all three times I had the right of way. Really. I felt like I had one of those "kick me" signs on my back except I guess it would have been a giant hand with a giant extended middle finger on my front bumper.

This was many years ago and I took this as a sign to get my ass back to the house and park my car. Today, I would be looking at what the hell I myself was so annoyed/angry about and how I should go about expressing it ... and then, yes, get my ass back to the house and park my car.

Now, I have Mars opposing my Sun in my natal chart so can trigger all kinds of tension/anger/enthusiasm within other people unconsciously to get myself moving. When I needed to leave banking I had a gun to my head during a robbery and a crazy stalker situation happening at the same time. But we all do this to varying degrees.)

Decisions must be made. And yes, with all this Libra it will be harder to make them as we weigh all the options. Situations could conspire to force our hand.

Venus into Libra | beauty attracts, finding peace, justice, judging a book by its cover, people-pleasers, relationships finding balance, more diplomacy needed, comb your hair

let me kiss it better by muszka
Venus comes home to Libra early tomorrow morning, a sign she rules. The planet Venus was named for the Roman Goddess of love and grace; named Aphrodite by the ancient Greeks.

This transit (until November 7th) makes Libra Suns and Risings, who are already naturally attractive, even more so - both physically attractive and more able to attract what they want/need.

Everyone's Libra house gets more attractive, too (what house was Libra in when you were born? what is the theme of that house? do you have any planets or points in Libra - Venus will be hitting them over the next few weeks).

We will be attracted to what we find 'beautiful'. We will be attracted to what we find 'just'. We will be attracted to what we find 'peaceful'. And these are the qualities people will find attractive in us and our work in the world.

These are the qualities we'll want to bring to the table (and yes, flowers that would be a good thing to bring to the table now, too) to attract whatever we are wanting to attract now, particularly in the area of life housing your natal Libra and within our relationships.

Get dressed. Comb your hair. Appearances matter. This might sound shallow, but Libra isn't shallow. This is more about caring for ourselves and for the people we come in contact with. Wanting things to be nice for everyone. This can be a bad thing when taken too far, so don't take it too far. Libra makes it look easy, but that's her talent. She is a cardinal sign charged with starting a new season - far from easy!

The potential for peace within our relationships increases as we move from critic (Virgo) to diplomat (Libra).

The potential for people pleasing increases, too. Balance is the key now.

Making life too much about the other person is Libra's shadow side. It's easier, or I should say, lazier, to just give in to something to have "harmony" than to work out the win-wins.

We need to honor ourselves as well as the other person. It's simple, but not easy. If we think balance is easy we should stand on one leg for a while!

People with a more Aries nature - Libra's polarity sign - used to putting themselves first might need to do pretty much the opposite for awhile.

Venus in Libra can offer our relationships a fresh start if we can let go of the petty grievances and nitpicking. Seeing the other person with new eyes really is possible here.

In Libra, there is power in groups and alliances - but the emphasis (for now) is on the shared human experience of connection rather than on what might emerge later. It's not the time for thinking about how it will all play out, what we are getting or giving. It's just the time for the experience. We come into real harmony when we can see each other clearly. We don't have to always agree with each other. Agreeing isn't step two or even step one hundred and two.

We dishonor Venus with vanity or idleness - this doesn't mean she wants us to be busy though. Busyness is often an excuse for dishonoring the very things we need to do to take care of ourselves (busyness dishonors our businesses, too!).

Venus takes care of herself!

We dishonor Venus when we gossip or mistreat relationships - when we don't take care of our physical selves and surroundings, when we just live with the mess, when we pollute our bodies with crappy food, when we allow our values to become corrupted, when we ignore our passions - we are the caregivers of what we are passionate about in the physical world.

There is a reason we are attracted to the stuff we are attracted to! It needs to be honored with our time, attention and resources.

People with strong Libra energy in their natal charts will almost always be evolving toward equal, powerful partnerships.

We have a New Moon in Libra in a few days with the Moon opposing freedom-loving "anything-can-happen" Uranus. Check your natal chart for 24-28 degrees of the cardinal signs - Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn - if you have planets or points, you will almost surely feel this one. We will talk about this next week.

For today, we still have Mercury sextiling sober Saturn. Our words are our bond now. If you need to talk with some kind of authority figure this would be the time - just use serious language and speak with authority yourself. Step into your responsibility with your language and communications. Speak to a mentor. Take what you hear seriously. Walk your talk. This is where the opportunity (sextile) lies now.

Mercury Sextile Saturn Trine the South Node | a conversation from the past, old ideas gain traction, grown-up conversations, write it down, putting some sibling rivalry to bed, chatting up the neighbors

untitled by la-child

Coming off yesterday's square with Mars (still in play), today's Saturn sextiles (opportunity) communicative Mercury while Mercury is trining (brakes off) the South Node in Aquarius.

This is good energy for advancing old ideas/information/conversations.

Maybe something said in the past can be said/shared in another way now - a solid, practical, cooperative way - and bring new energy to the table. Maybe an old grievance can be released. Maybe it allows us to release our detachment or distance from someone or from a situation we need to move closer to.

Information that comes in now that connects to the past in some way will be what to follow up on. This is good for business communications that require give-and-take and CLOSING THE DEAL. Mercury is in Libra and wants everyone to just "get along" and act fairly. Kindness matters and works, too. Conversations with authority figures can go well.

If you need to make a decision now rely on your past experiences and think long-term.

This is great energy for writing projects.

The Moon is in sensitive Cancer and at its last quarter - if we can avoid taking serious information too personally and think before we speak - our words can make real headway. This is also a good day for communicating calmly with siblings or local neighborhood (Mercury) situations (especially older situations that are keeping us detached from other people) and making real progress.

Mars Square Saturn | what we resist persists, slowing this freight train down, roadblocks, feeling over-burdened, judgements, doing our best with what we have, wonder woman vs catwoman, differences are inflated, banging our head against the wall, not a good day for a fight

a cloud dropped by crocodililachrymae

Today, we have Mars (in Virgo) squaring Saturn (in Sagittarius) at 22 degrees.

This is our energy/initiative - what we are doing to get what we want (remember Mars is just coming off his dance with Venus) - hitting an obstacle. We talked about this for the last couple weeks. Something is restricting our actions. Maybe our responsibilities are onerous now. Maybe we need to suppress our anger and we just want to blow up. Think about the California firefighters trying to stop (Saturn) the fire (Mars).

At the least there is frustration here.

Our reactions to differences with other people will be out-of-proportion to what is really happening. Save the heart to heart talks for another day. Things could seem worse than they really are now.

Patience will be required - and we learn patience by practicing patience. The more we try to rush and push the more Saturn will stand firm. There is divine timing with all things - keep that in mind now. Saturnian obstacles turn out to be good things in the long run. They make us stronger.

If you are procrastinating about something think about why you aren't taking action. Is what you are doing really in line with what you are wanting?

With Saturn we have to think/act long-term. We have to be consistent. We have to get up every morning and put our boots on and trudge off to do our work. Yes, even in the snow and the rain and when we were up all night binge watching Netflix.

We also have Venus inconjunct Uranus - a desire toward something new or different but some kind of impasse with that. And Venus squares Black Moon Lilith - poor Venus is having a very bad day.

Black Moon Lilith though is not only squaring Venus but trining (brakes off) that same Uranus change-maker. The disruptive woman is disruptive on steroids now. Venus in Virgo says be polite, be good, be virtuous, be quiet. Lilith unleashed in Sagittarius says life is big and messy and out of control and I am not going to take this patriarchal/be a good (and quiet) girl bullshit anymore!

We could actually find ourselves in a good girl/bad girl situation with another person now or this could just play out within ourselves. The situation isn't totally black and white though. Both sides have their strong points and their weaknesses and the real story can get lost in the telling of it. Especially if we are shouting. Or not talking at all.

In the end Saturn will win the day. His rules/restrictions/time frames cannot be trampled.

We will do the work and get through this somehow. We will do the best with what we have. We are getting really good at that.

Don't look too far ahead with anything today. Stuff is changing too fast.

Jupiter in Scorpio (Oct. 10, 2017 - Nov. 8, 2018) | expansion of personal power, layers of fear, diving for buried treasure, flooding the basement, growth by being financially smart and savvy, breaking taboos, breaking through solid ground, burning the whole place down

a plouat by modjojojo
Today we have Jupiter, after 13 months in relationship-centered Libra, diving into shadowy Scorpio, where he will hang his hat for the next 13 months.

Our largest planet, Jupiter teaches through expansion. The area of life charged with housing Jupiter, increases to accommodate him.

We will be casting a wide (Jupiter) and deep (Scorpio) net.

Scorpio is the natural ruler of our 8th house - other people's resources ie our investments, debts, loans, mortgages, inheritances, spouse's salary, taxes, the ways we merge/share with other people, sex, reproduction (which doesn't always include sex now), banks, death, birth, power, transformation, karma.

It is the natural house of our shadows and taboos - all the stuff civil Libra, and polite society, doesn't want to talk about.

So, as a collective experience Jupiter into Scorpio widens and deepens our experience of these subjects. No doubt issues of taxes, banking, sex scandals will be in the collective news. This week's headlines about a Hollywood mogul's sexual harassment accusations are Jupiter's first dive. In our personal lives something will likely come into focus this week involving one of these themes or the themes of our natal Scorpio house - where is Scorpio in your natal chart? What is the theme of that house?

Our experience of Jupiter through Scorpio will be about going down into the basement and dealing with whatever we have buried there (experiences we have shared with other people). Scorpio is extreme. It is also extremely resourceful. The boundaries of our collective resources will broaden. We can save more money. We can spend more money. We can get into debt. We can get out of debt. Astrology is very good at showing process, but not as good for predicting outcome. That part is up to us.

Scorpio wants to get to the bottom of things and isn't above just burning the whole thing down (its modern ruler is Pluto after all) so it can rise from the ashes like the phoenix. The fire strengthens Scorpio like the spaces metal has been welded or skin has been scarred.

And Jupiter can expand a problem until it can no longer be hidden.

Scorpian shadows - obsession, compulsion. jealousy, revenge, addiction - can come into the light now. Jupiter in Scorpio will expand whatever it is we don't want to talk about until it is so large (that elephant in the living-room again) we have no choice, but to deal with it.

The Pluto in Scorpio generation (aka millennials) will have Jupiter conjuncting their natal Pluto at some point during this transit - this could be very empowering for them and their very important voice in the world! I love this group and they are the second largest generation alive on the planet. They are the psychic generation and do not even have to physically come together with each other to move mountains, We need them bold and kicking! YAY!

We can grow/expand through - muscles earned by digging that hidden gunk out of our basement, the courage earned by confronting this crap, rising from the ashes if we hit bottom and/or the smart and strategic (Scorpio is both) use of shared resources.

The fly in the ointment is Scorpian shadows can expand, too - issues of manipulation, compulsion, jealousy, power struggles, the allure of destructive and self-destructive people and situations, going underwater financially - probably through taking on too much debt - and flooding our basement.

I am going to run through the houses. The areas we need to be thinking about are:

1. 8th house issues - all the stuff I wrote about earlier because as a collective energy, there is really only one of us here, we will all be sharing this storyline
2 - the theme of your natal Scorpio house - the house Scorpio rules in your natal chart (the cusp of the house will be in Scorpio)
3 - the theme of your Scorpio house based on your Sun sign - this is kind of a tribal theme for everyone under a particular Sun sign - I often find this one even more on target than the actual house placement with events/situations in my own life

(if you don't know the house use your Sun sign and rising sign/ascendant, BOTH, with the info below)

ARIES (Scorpio 8th house) - Jupiter will expand your life through your house of other people's money and shared resources. Issues of emotional intimacy, reproduction, finances, debts, taxes, inheritances will all be on the agenda. Jupiter will expand whatever is hidden here. New resources - financial, skills, etc - could be unearthed. Investments could increase. But so could debt. Ultimately, you will be confronting/learning about how you approach sharing your resources, combining your energy with other people and wielding personal power/control.

TAURUS (Scorpio 7th house) - Jupiter will expand your life through your house of other people - partnerships, one-on-one relationships. Existing relationships are strengthened through your willingness to embrace both the good stuff and the shadows! If you are single a new relationship could be likely over the next year - it could be intense. This could be a good or a not so good thing - that part is up to you and what you learn from the relationship. Maybe a Scorpionic person will come onto the scene. Honesty is what will keep relationships together now. Jupiter will expand whatever is hidden here. Manipulations, jealousy and obsessions could expand. If any current relationships are on shaky ground they will rise or fall during this transit. Life will conspire to make your relationship activities deeper, richer and more potentially rewarding.

GEMINI (Scorpio 6th house) - Jupiter will expand your life through your house of work and health. Your workload could increase this year. The ways you take on too much will become clear to you through taking on too much. Or maybe a promotion at work requires more of you and it is a good thing. Jupiter will expand whatever is hidden here. Health issues could expand to get your attention. A focus on 'getting healthy' would be life-changing. A new pet could expand your life now, too. Life will conspire to make your day-to-day activities richer and more potentially rewarding.

CANCER (Scorpio 5th house) - Jupiter will expand your life through your house of children, fun, recreation and creativity. Jupiter will expand whatever is hidden here. Your growth will come through the creation of something authentically your own that you can be proud of. Growth comes naturally though play - just be careful not to take this to excess since Jupiter is known for creating too much of a good thing. Gambles could pay off. A focus on what you create - children, a project, etc - will broaden and deepen your life. Life will conspire to make your creative life deeper, richer and more potentially rewarding.

LEO (Scorpio 4th house) - Jupiter will expand your life through your house of home and family. Maybe you move somewhere larger or more spacious or your family itself expands. Maybe you renovate your home. If you have a home business that could expand, too. Maybe someone new moves into your house or you have a child. Jupiter will expand whatever is hidden here. Problems within the family can increase so they can no longer be hidden away. Past family karmic stories can come out into the open to be aired out. Growth comes through family and your root structure. Life will conspire to make your familial relationships and home-centered activities deeper, richer and more potentially rewarding.

VIRGO (Scorpio 3rd house) - Jupiter will expand your life through your house of communication, information, education, siblings, your local neighborhood and transportation. You could expand through writing, learning, teaching, speaking. Jupiter will expand whatever is hidden here. If a new course of study catches your eye now, it is a good time to take the study of it seriously rather than flitting from one thing to another. Dive deep into whatever information is presented to you this year. Sibling relationship issues or issues within your local environment could expand to get your attention. Opportunities and avenues to make things better will come to you. You might find yourself more likely to say the thing you wouldn't normally say and people might not always be so open to it. Growth will come through this kind of misadventure, too. Somebody has to say it. Life will conspire to make your communications deeper, richer and more potentially rewarding.

LIBRA (Scorpio 2nd house) - Jupiter will expand your life through your house of money, resources and self-esteem. You could earn more money now. You could spend more money now. The ways you value yourself and the ways you don't are ripe for amplification. Jupiter will expand whatever is hidden here. Your confidence could increase. Growth will come through loving yourself and deciding you are worthy of success and security. The caution here is a lack of self-esteem leading to increased spending. Pay attention. Think about what you are really feeling and re-channel your energy if you find yourself shopping until you drop. Life will conspire to make your relationship with what you value deeper, richer and more potentially rewarding.

SCORPIO (Scorpio 1st house) - Jupiter will expand your life through your house of yourself. This is your year! Your life will expand in a Jupiter way - more optimism, more energy, wider and broader thinking and doing. Efforts expended now will result in increased personal power and very literal transformation. Your life can change in ways you cannot imagine over the next year. The fly in the ointment is your natural tendency to grow moldy stuff - so watch yourself for signs of obsession, addiction, jealousy, manipulation. Jupiter will expand whatever is hidden here. Life will conspire to make your relationship with yourself deeper, richer and more potentially rewarding.

SAGITTARIUS (Scorpio 12th house) Jupiter will expand your life through your house of secrets, what is happening in the background, what is "put away". Honesty is your best friend this year. Secrets are going to expand until they lose their power over you. Freedom is at hand Sagittarius! Issues will not just fade away, so take care of what is happening when it is happening. The stuff left to its own devices will grow legs and run you over. The stuff you don't know about will be helping you from behind the scenes, too - your angels will be working overtime. Jupiter will expand whatever is hidden here. Understand that you just don't know what you don't know. When you know better, do better. Also know that secrets and stuff that has been hidden away can seem like a mountain and turn out to be a molehill with Jupiter here. Keep your wits about you. Addictions can increase until they get your attention. Keep an eye on that, too. Life will conspire to make your relationship with the hidden realms deeper, richer and more potentially rewarding.

CAPRICORN (Scorpio 11th house) Jupiter will expand your life through your house of friends, the internet, the public and your hopes and dreams. Friendships expand and grow deeper. Shallow friendships, and the ones we have outgrown, will move on. Jupiter will expand whatever is hidden here. Your social circle will broaden your life. Maybe a social cause or group will require alot of your time and attention. You could go too extreme with this, but you could create real growth and expansion via this avenue, too. This is also a good year for promoting whatever you are doing with the public. I would say "join a group" but I don't think I will need to say it! Life will conspire to make your friendship activities deeper, richer and more potentially rewarding.

AQUARIUS (Scorpio 10th house) Jupiter will expand your life through your house of career and public life. Career success (especially regarding the last 12 years of work) is very possible now. Public recognition is possible, too. Follow up on all leads. Jupiter will expand whatever is hidden here. If you are currently in a career that is stifling you, Jupiter will see that you outgrow it (this part might not feel so good) and move on to something bigger and better. You expand by bringing your enthusiasm and authenticity into the public sphere. Workaholics could overdo it now and pay the price. It's a year to dive deep with your career, but find something outside of work to tether yourself to, also. Life will conspire to make your career activities deeper, richer and more potentially rewarding.

PISCES (Scorpio 9th house) Jupiter will expand your life through your house of foreign travel, higher education, legal issues, media, publishing, weddings, your belief system. That box you are living in is going to feel very tight if you are not allowed to poke your head out the window now and then. Jupiter will expand whatever is hidden here. Any opportunity to travel should be jumped on. Growth will come through new and untested experiences. Foreign people could broaden your life now. You will not be able to flit from thing to thing though - whatever you are charged with doing here you are going to be immersing yourself in it. Life will conspire to make your 9th house activities deeper, richer and more potentially rewarding.

We will talk alot more about this transit as we move through it. Remember this one is a full 13 months. You might have something happen now that points an arrow toward what this will be about or maybe just toward the first thing this will be about or we might not really feel this transit until the Sun moves into Scorpio and Scorpio season kicks off in a couple weeks.
