Weekly Astrology forecast for Creatives | November 1st - November 7th, 2021 - momentum, sudden change and surprises, what we want changes, our thinking/the conversation changes, a big month kicks off with a big new moon

We start the week, and month, coming off Saturday's exact Sun square Saturn stop sign/reality check/truth bomb. Whatever this 'brought to light/unearthed' for us last week, we can expect it to NOT be a one-and-done or unwind quickly.

The Moon, following in the Sun's footsteps, will square Saturn just hours before Thursday's New Moon AND on November 10th (now here's some gnarly astro), the Moon will meet Saturn and square Mars, who will, of course, also be squaring Saturn. All of this is happening with Saturn at 7 degrees Aquarius, so people with planets/points nearest to 7 degrees of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) will be feeling this the strongest.

Thursday's New Moon in Scorpio will be EXACTLY opposing 'anything-can-happen' Uranus - although with Uranus retrograde whatever this churns up for us will not be totally unexpected. The next day, two of our inner/personal planets change signs - a strong indicator that changes are in store this week for many people and probably all of us.

Also with Venus heading into sober Cappy  and Mercury into powerful Scorpio - it's TIME TO GET SERIOUS, PEOPLE!

November and December are not for sissies - more about that in the New Moon post.

Let's unpack the week!

MONDAY - Mercury trines Jupiter, Sun trines Pallas

TUESDAY - Mercury squares Pluto

THURSDAY - Sun opposes Uranus, New Moon in Scorpio (12 degrees)

FRIDAY - Venus enters Capricorn UNTIL MARCH! Mercury enters Scorpio

SATURDAY - Mercury sextiles Venus

On MONDAY, Mercury (flying through the end of Libra FINALLY) trines Jupiter (in Aquarius) at the powerful 22nd degree. Still covering old territory until he/she gets to 26 degrees Libra on the Scorpio New Moon (Thursday) - today's trine is a repeating aspect from September 20th and October 3rd, so there could be a connection NOW to information/communications from THEN. This is our final pass through here with both planets direct. Positive, expansive conversations. Opportunities. Faith/hope. Reach out. Talk to people. Remember Mercury is STILL in Libra, so think - cordial, social, diplomatic, fair.

At the same time, the Sun in Scorpio is trining (more brakes off) Pallas in fellow water sign Pisces. The Sun in Scorpio is energized by the stuff we don't always want to talk about/look at. The smooth flow to a gentler/compassionate Pallas makes it easier to see/feel very old patterns/escape mechanisms/self-sabotaging tendencies. We can also more easily forgive/seek forgiveness. Pallas in Pisces pulls divine wisdom/inner knowing into today's mix. At the same time, the Sun's 'search for truth' in deep Scorpio can allow us to see any ways our Pallas has gone off track in nonlinear/watery Pisces - seeing patterns that don't exist/connecting dots that shouldn't be connected, etc.

On TUESDAY, Mercury squares Pluto (at 24 degrees Capricorn). This is a repeating aspect, too, and pulls in tension/frustration with our goals/authority/career/Cappy house theme. Coming right after the high-flying Mercury/Jupiter makes it obvious some real-world responsibilities/security issues will pull us back down to Earth. Here is also where any power imbalances/passive-aggressive energies (saying one thing when we or they mean something else altogether) could be highlighted. Manipulation. Threats. Fear of what might be lost/dying. Our thinking obsessive/feeling like life and death. Again, we've been here before - this ain't our first rodeo. This is Mercury's FINAL aspect in partnership-focused Libra before we merge/purge in Scorpio - what do we own here/what have we contributed to whatever this mess is. Taking our power back means taking responsibility for whatever we are projecting onto other people. What needs to go/stop.

On THURSDAY, the Scorpio Moon meets the Scorpio Sun at 12 degrees EXACTLY opposing a retrograde Uranus. It's SURPRISE - BIG REVEAL TIME even with these dark skies.

Expect a BIG post.

This is also the day Mercury starts covering new ground in Libra, so new conversations/information/ideas are pulled into the New Moon's brave new story-line!

On FRIDAY - Venus enters Capricorn - until March, yes, I said March, due to her upcoming retrograde and Mercury dives into Scorpio (finally leaving Libra after his/her long retrograde) until November 24th.  What we want changes. The conversations changes. With two personal planets changing signs and a New Moon opposing Uranus in the same week, everyone will have SOMETHING new going on.

Venus enters Capricorn. This is a LONG and important transit where she will cross the January 2020 'time runs out' degree THREE times and deal with Pluto - still hanging out in 'time runs out' territory - THREE times. Expect a BIG post.

In the meantime, in general, Venus (love, money, women, values, self-esteem, beauty) moves into Capricorn today. Capricorn is the sign of structure and discipline. In Capricorn season (winter) these are the qualities that kept our ancestors alive. When Venus visits this space of the heavens these are the qualities that help us attract what we want and need.

Capricorn Suns and Risings get more attractive now (both more able to attract what they want and easier on the eye). Our Capricorn houses (natal) become more attractive, too.

This is the time to get serious with Venus ruled themes.Where are we investing our resources - our time, esteem, relationships, resources, money? What are we getting back? Are we putting a whole lot of time into one thing, but all our revenue is coming from this other thing? Sometimes this is ok, but maybe it's not. It's time to check in with ourselves. Venus in Capricorn is an excellent time for organizing our finances so we can attract more money that sticks. I used to be a Bank Manager and noticed that how a person attracted/earned their money usually correlated to how sticky that money was later. And I once wasted a ridiculous amount of money on something I hadn't done enough research on because the money had come to me too easily - a way my self-esteem, at that time, couldn't line up with.

Venus in Capricorn allows us to recognize we attract what we earn (ie if we've attracted it with Venus in Cappy rest assured we HAVE earned it), so we get to KEEP it.  Tradition will become a focus - the way something has always been done. This doesn't mean we have to continue doing things the way we've always done them, but these things will come to our attention now.

We get more serious about love, too. If something isn't going anywhere, this can be the transit we cut it loose. Our focus returns to what is real. We attract stability and longer lasting success/love/money by finishing what we start and honoring our commitments. This is all just general Venus in Cappy stuff, this year's transit is a bit different and more amped up and we will talk about that in its own post.

Mercury enters Scorpio. The planet of communication (Mercury) ingresses into the sign of power, transformation and secrets (Scorpio) until November 24th.  This is excellent energy for deep (Scorpio) investigation/research (Mercury). Instead of learning/thinking/communicating about a little of this and a little of that, now is the time to go "all in" with a subject we are passionate about.

Our mind can focus. Is this still true with the internet/youtube/facebook/pinterest/instagram/tiktok, well we are going to find out. Multi-tasking will be harder because our intellect will want to sit with one thing for longer than we usually do. We will be getting to the bottom of things and will not be satisfied with Libra's (Mercury's last stop) conversational civilities. We'll want to know, and think/talk about, what is really happening.

It won't always be comfortable.

The hard truths won't be blurted out spontaneously (although with that Uranus opposition some of this is possible) - we will have to dig for them. Decide first if you really want to know what is hiding underneath because Plutonian authenticity is not only transformational - it is permanent. There is no going back to "not knowing". Mysteries can be solved. The truth could come out. Secrets can be languaged and spoken out loud.

Difficult conversations will create deeper levels of intimacy now. If you are dating someone and you have sex (also Scorpio ruled) with them you can never go back to not having sex with them even if you never have sex with them again. The intimacy is still there. See what I mean. It will be like this with our words now. And once we know the information - we own it. It's our move (with Scorpio the move might be internal). It changes who we are and we ignore who we are at our own peril (this is how we start carrying around stuff that is dead and Scorpio rules that, too).

Careless language (disrespect for ourselves and others) and our careless treatment of other people's words (and their reaction to ours) will be karmic. Keep this in mind. There could be battles for mental supremacy and mind games during this transit. People prone to manipulation could be extremely effective (or someone will finally see right to the bottom of what we are doing - maybe that someone will be ourselves). This is a time to take a good, long look at what we are really seeking when we are trying to make a situation/person behave in a way that pleases us. Think about it. There are gold nuggets to be mined now. Even tiny specks can be used to create great fortunes. Scorpio rules our inheritance.

The fly in the ointment here is that we might think we are mining for gold when we are really just obsessing on the same old same old. Scorpio rules obsession and compulsion and our minds could easily go there now. Notice it. Don't judge it. Think about - "what does it mean that I keep thinking about this?". Scorpio rules death, too. It's not only what we dig up, but what we put into the ground that matters now. Maybe some words/language/story needs to be put to rest.

Now, I've written a HUGE lot for Thursday and this doesn't mean this is going to happen on Thursday - this is just the starting point. And keep in mind the South Node will be in Scorpio in just a few weeks, so everything Scorpio AND Taurus is about to become mega important.

On SATURDAY, Mercury - who has been UBER busy this week, so we should expect to be busy, too - at 1 degrees Scorpio is going to sextile (opportunity) Venus at 1 degree Capricorn. This is water and earth which makes mud, but also mudslides. I like the Scorpio/Cappy sextile. We are connecting/deciding/conversing in deep/serious ways. Making cuts and commitments. This stays. That goes.

Life is serious. Would I say deadly serious? Well, yes. Yes, I would.

back with the New Moon post!

artwork by the amazing Alice Neel

Today's Astrology Forecast | Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 - moody mamas and manipulative children or vice versa or something like that ....

The Moon is in her home sign of Cancer (since yesterday).

Maybe our attention has turned to home matters, real estate, renovation, home or family business. With a Cancer Moon we are nurtured/nourished by home and family, by mom and apple pie.

She is all over the place today - squares Mercury at 1:09AM EDT, trines Neptune at 10:47AM EDT and opposes Pluto at 6:07PM EDT.

The Moon in "mama-bear" Cancer is sensitive/protective/self-protective/moody. The square to Mercury in partnership/fairness/balance focused Libra speaks of difficult conversations or information. Maybe feelings get hurt. It is easy to take things too personally. The smooth trine to Neptune in Pisces pulls in compassion/reminiscing/forgiveness, but then we move into our monthly lunar opposition to powerful Pluto. Things get intense/uncomfortable. Something can feel like life and death. The stuff that is not being said becomes more important than what is. Oppositions are similar to Full Moons and bring culminations/peak energy/endings. Maybe hidden information comes out. Someone says what needs to be said (or maybe it doesn't but it gets said anyway and now it's out there) and it doesn't feel so good. Power struggles, maybe reminiscent of childhood situations. Manipulations. This can also bring up situations with other people's money, merged funds, taxes, inheritances, loans, reproduction, intimacy issues.

At 2:01AM EDT on the 28th, the Moon will go void off a testy square to Mars at the end of Libra leaving us feeling antsy. Don't force a late night conversation/action that doesn't need to happen. It might not go so well.

The good news - keep in mind, all day (in play all week) Venus is applying to tomorrow's sextile to Jupiter. Expansion. Hope. Luck. Opportunity. Ka-ching. This is your Sagittarius house and your Aquarius house all powered up with goodies. Everyone gets something this week/some kind of LUCKY. How is this impacting you? What can you do with this? Just keep in mind the whole over-estimating thing/going too far, too big too fast. We talked about that and more in the weekly HERE.

artwork by the amazing and talented Meluseena - I make a lovely locket with her HERE

  • Cancer Moon square Mercury in Libra (15 deg)
  • Moon trine Neptune Rx in Pisces (20 deg)
  • Moon opposite Pluto in Capricorn (24 deg)

The Moon/Mercury square triggers emotional discussions that veer between extremes. It will be difficult to have a polite convo because sensitivities will be heightened. There could be dramatic statements or difficulties in saying/hearing something clearly. Before you respond, step back and think.

The trine to Neptune can encourage a healing flow and compassion but that will take you right into the opposition with Pluto. So what begins as smooth access to certain needs/feelings will quickly reach an intense culmination - fears of loss, neediness and parental issues will be activated. There could be an ending/breakthrough that allows you to access something that's been repressed, but it won't feel comfortable. The full spectrum of emotions will be activated with a range that includes mothering/smothering, childlike helplessness and manipulative withdrawal.

Nonetheless, don't shrink from what's revealed - a mini "death" can clear the way for enhanced self-sufficiency. Also, this can be a good time to recognize who you're handing your power to - no one has the power to make you feel anything (you're in control of your emotions).

This Week's Astrology Forecast for creatives | October 25th - 31st, 2021 - a need to catch our breath, expansion, hope, luck, faith, taking a risk without betting the farm, the push and pull and deep dive of this year's scorpio season begins

Was last week a roller coaster ride or what?!

The Sun is in deep, dark Scorpio now - the fixed space of the autumn season. I'd say the space where the dead stay buried, but with Mars' Scorpio ingress this week, that might not be totally true.

Venus is very active. First up a creative/spiritual, but maybe delusional and almost certainly exhausting square to Neptune (maybe a hangover from last week's ups and downs and fast crash landing) and then an opportunistic sextile with an expansive and LUCKY Jupiter when we'll have to know when to stretch/reach for more and when to say when.

The Last Quarter Moon in fixed signs followed by a Sun square Saturn (also in fixed signs) should keep us grounded/from going too far/will pull in the reality police.

Let's unpack the week!

TUESDAY - Venus squares Neptune, Mars sextiles the Galactic Center, Ceres conjuncts Black Moon Lilith

THURSDAY - Venus sextiles Jupiter, Last Quarter Moon in Leo

SATURDAY - Mars into Scorpio, the Sun squares Saturn

TUESDAY - Venus, at 20 degrees Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces. The Venus/Neptune square is tension/frustration/maybe disappointment. What we want might dissolve/fade away.  Sag/Pisces can both be rather pie-in-the-sky energies, so keep one foot on the ground now. Not everything is quite what it seems. We might be pining for something we think we lost that we never actually had or wanting something without even knowing what it is. There is some kind of leaky/bottom-less cup here. We want more.

Take a breath. Maybe a nap.

Ceres meets up with Black Moon Lilith at 11 degrees Gemini. Black Moon Lilith (as us) in Gemini has made her escape from the garden. She is saying what she wants to say/thinking how she wants to think. Ceres is retrograde - this is their second meeting and pulls us back to a situation from early August. This portal is the re-thinking, re-languaging, re-evaluating part as the mother energy (can also bring up change of life situations and situations outside our control or in need of compromise) meets the taboo/won't be anyone's ball and chain feminine energy.

Mars, nearing the end of his FREAKIN' EXHAUSTING journey through partnership/fairness/balanced, passive-aggressively indecisive Libra now sextiles (opportunity) the Galactic Center - our homing signal/Black Hole in the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. Our actions/passions - again, think Libra - cooperative, diplomatic, fair - are calling in a new co-creative power. Collectively we are letting go of the need to project our issues onto other people in order to defend our own vulnerabilities. We are learning (through Mars disposition of Chiron in Aries) that we can take care of ourselves/stand up for ourselves, that being vulnerable is one of our superpowers - that being vulnerable AND REAL does not equal being weak.

Mars is hours away from coming home to Scorpio - where we will go deeper, act with passion/power, merge more fully, prune the dead wood. With Chiron in Aries - and answering to Mars - we are a couple years into a collective healing through a shift from tribal power to individual power (he will be in Aries until 2027). Mars journey through Libra every couple years is our opportunity to take back some of what we have been projecting onto other people AND, at the same time, bring some of our newly-formed "individual selves" into our relationships/the way we do 'fair' now, the way we do 'balance'. This is tricky because our group memory is tribal and something deep within us is always sending out warning signals when we venture too far from the 'tribe' or in this case, the way relationships 'have always been' done, but that old version of loss of self within intimate relationships is no longer possible. Which makes everyone, yes, a little more lonely (at this point in the cycle anyway, we'll have to see how we work the next few years), but also keep in mind we are carrying our unique spark at a very intimate level now and no one can take it from us. We will likely have to take some action to activate this sextile now, but seriously creative downloads are possible. Pay attention. Act with courage and civility/fairness. This will add power to Thursday's Venus/Jupiter sextile.

On THURSDAY, the Leo Moon squares the Scorpio Sun at 5 degrees. This is our Last Quarter Square before next week's powerful New Moon in Scorpio opposing (anything-can-happen) Uranus. This square is fixed energy. The Leo Moon wants to have some fun OUT THERE and the Scorpio Sun wants to get to the bottom of things/stay home and do a puzzle. Our ego, need for attention/appreciation is at odds with what we want to keep hidden/out of sight/in our back pocket/close to our chest. Do we put it all out there or hold something back? The Leo Sun can also bring attention to something we don't want to look at/deal with. This can also show up simply as the tension between going out and being visible and staying in and doing our own private things.

Venus, at 22 degrees Sagittarius sextiles Jupiter at 22 degrees Aquarius. Here is smooth flow. Here is what we want meeting the opportunity to get it. Luck. Freedom. Expansion.

But also - and I don't want to focus on this, but I do have to say it, especially since Venus is coming off that square to fantastical/sometime delusional Neptune - with Venus (at the powerful 22 degrees) in Sagittarius answering to more-is-more-is-more Jupiter (at the powerful 22 degrees Aquarius), the possibility to take something TOO FAR.

On the other hand, and this is why we get two of then, the rewards with Jupiter ALWAYS come with some risk/hope/faith.

On SATURDAY - Mars comes home to Scorpio (after two years) joining the Sun and will power up our Scorpio planets!

With Mars (action, initiative, passion, anger) here we will think about what we are going to do before we do it. Scorpio likes to premeditate. And, yes, that sounds slightly criminal and mostly devious, but this is Scorpio we are talking about! We could be doing things in secret. Shh! Mars in Scorpio can be good for our physical energy since Scorpio is continually re-generating itself.

Because Scorpio rules our 8th house of compulsions and obsessions we could find our actions driven by our impulses. If you find yourself caught in a loop - STOP - ask yourself - why am I doing this again? why am I so mad? why do I want this so badly? what am I really trying to get? We can get alot done with Mars in Scorpio let's just make sure it is stuff worth doing.

Scorpio is our fixed water sign. It's job is to strengthen our emotions. But fixed water is well, kind of fixed. Think frozen. Think concrete. Think quicksand. It can make it hard to change course if we get too emotionally wedded to whatever it is we are focused on. If you are heading into the quicksand anyway, keep one hand on a tree branch, like they do in the cartoons, to pull yourself out later. But don't say I didn't warn you if the branch breaks.

Where is Scorpio in your natal chart? That area of life will SNAP TO ATTENTION now.

Collectively this is also a good time to take action with Scorpio ruled themes - other people's resources, debts, loans, inheritances, mortgages, taxes, insurance payments, intimacy, sex, reproduction, life and death issues, stuff that is dead in the water (or caught in the quicksand). This is a good time for renovation projects/bringing something back to life. With Mars blasting through this collective area we will have more energy, initiative and control over these subjects than we usually do. Keep in mind we will also be more passionate about them and easier to anger.

Mars will be in Scorpio until December 13th.

SATURDAY is also the day the Sun, at 7 degrees Scorpio, will square Saturn in Aquarius.

Here is a stop sign/road block/reality check. New rules. Here is our responsibility to the group/to the future. Happening during the Mars/Scorpio ingress pulls some additional seriousness/sobriety into Mars time in Scorpio. Also some stop and go/give and take energy. Maybe something here about secrets wanting to come out, but needing to be hidden from the group or because of certain rules. Truth/honesty vs detachment. Saturn will be at 7 degrees through the volatile November 10th energies we will talk about in the November post, so whatever we have going on now we could be dealing with for a while or dealing with again.

the full moon in aries | october 20th, 2021 - the stuff that won't stay stuffed, endings without closure, fighting for justice and balance and other people, choosing freedom over comfort, rising from the ashes a brand new person

The Full Moon is always a time of cosmic tension - the Moon opposes the Sun.

On October 20th, 2021 at 10:57AM EDT, the Moon, at 27 degrees Aries, opposes the Sun in Libra. This is the culmination of the Aries New Moon that launched the lunar year back in April, so maybe something from that time is finishing up. Feels like years ago, doesn't it? Time has kind of swallowed us up, so it probably was! On the other hand 2021 is FLYING isn't it?!

At the time of the Full Moon - situations peak, culminate, come to light, conclude.

Results are delivered.

With Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto all stationing direct within the last couple weeks - WHOOSH - the tables turn.

Let's get right down to it. Let's unpack the chart!

The Moon opposes the Sun - Aries/Libra at 27 degrees. Me vs we. How we partner. How we balance and share. Is justice just? An Aries Moon is raw/impulsive/self-centered. The energy can make us antsy and accident-prone.

The Sun is conjunct Mars - ruler of Aries and so ruler of this lunation. He is opposing the Moon and in the sign of his detriment, Libra, so answering to Venus (in Sagittarius so wanting her FREEDOM). Mars squares (tension/frustration) powerful Pluto in Capricorn. Destructive/passive-aggressive action. Or maybe a fast ending? An ending without closure? Which isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes a problem situation ends and we never quite know what the hell happened, but it's OK because it's over.

Keep in mind, this is a Full Moon in independent ARIES - if we are going to be truly ourselves - better whole than good (as Jung would say), other people may not always be so happy about it. This isn't about being a selfish asshole, but we are going to have to stand up for ourselves and we are going to have to get angry sometimes. And we are going to have to find ways to work with these feelings that are NOT destructive. And, that don't allow this personal and collective tension/stress to dump directly into our nervous system and impact our health or force impulsive choices. With Mars in Libra other people will have to be taken into consideration, something Mars doesn't like to do, hence his detriment here.

With Mars applying to his square to Pluto - exact in two days - it will be very hard to suppress the kinds of feelings we might normally suppress. Mars square Pluto is DANGEROUS/deadly. Powerful. Painful. With Mars separating from his trine to Jupiter (luck/expansion) - here is what comes AFTER the optimism/opportunity. Pluto says to get this you have to let go of that. And with Pluto we often won't know what this is, just that THAT is gone.

What is actually happening during a Mars/Pluto square is a kind of passage/portal is activated between these two energies - this activates not only our collective Libra and Capricorn houses (this time with Mars in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn), but ALSO our natal Mars and Pluto. They get to have a conversation. Squares are tension/frustration, so the conversation is kind of FORCED. Pluto can bring out Mars in Libra's repressed feelings about relationship/balance/justice. The subtle, and not so subtle, power struggles that are playing on guilt and dependency show up in the bright light of the Full Moon.

Our goal with whatever we have going on - avoid the negative sides of Mars and Pluto - that would be impulsiveness, needing to burn something down, destructive anger, manipulation, jealousy, control, possessiveness. But we can't just hide ourselves in a closet and wait this week out. Hidden issues will come up to be dealt with. Squares put our back against the wall. With Pluto, it might feel like someone else is holding all the cards. Something isn't FAIR. We need to channel the positive Mars to deal with this. That means courage. That means independence. In Libra, it also means diplomacy and civility. That's why this is so tricky. It's easy to be brave and independent when it is all about us, when we have nothing to lose, but what about those times when it isn't and we do?

And remember Mars is answering to Venus in Sagittarius who wants to be FREE and she is answering to a newly direct Jupiter in Aquarius who is certainly wanting that, too! Jupiter is back at 22 degrees Aquarius, where he was last March, and he will be here for the rest of the month. There isn't really the rush the Moon thinks there is!

The Full Moon chart shows Mercury, also in Libra and trining Black Moon Lilith in Gemini. Lilith is all for burning the whole thing down, too, so, again, care is needed here.

Pink paint won't be poured over problems, but we don't have to pour gasoline.

That trine, the Mercury/BML, opens ANOTHER portal, pulls in Gemini. More than one choice. More than one way through. More than one conversation/idea.

This looks to me like what is beginning from the scorched soil of whatever Pluto is killing off, offers more than one option/choice, but it comes through Black Moon Lilith! More courage needed. More truth. The taboo/stuff we haven't wanted to look at/talk about in polite company is pulled into the mix. We have to go through HER. Where is BML is your natal chart? What does she need to express?

If we look further ahead at what the Moon is doing we can see what comes next.

This is a very late Moon (27 degrees) so shortly after opposing the Sun she goes void. Everyone goes to their corner to lick their wounds maybe or we are kind of not knowing what to do next. Then she moves into Taurus, the sign of her EXALTATION. Here is comfort. Here is what we have now.

Then BAM, she squares Saturn, newly direct in Aquarius and covering this ground for the THIRD time. This can bring clarity/reality, but might bring up a great bit of fear. A road block/stop sign. We might feel pushed to give up something that is ours or we are just really feeling what we don't have. Now, here's the thing to remember, because her next move is a meeting with chaotic/change-maker Uranus, this isn't just about the ending/culmination/what the Full Moon brings to light, this is also about WHAT COMES NEXT if we can embrace the innovation/change/future and let go of what we NO LONGER NEED. We get to rise like a phoenix from the ashes. We get to be a brand new person.

So by Thursday evening EDT - because remember the Moon does in two and a half days what it takes the Sun a month to do - she is hanging out with Uranus. They are both in Taurus and answering to Venus - in Sag and what does SHE want again? Freedom! And in Sag we know things always work out better when we take a little RISK.

As the Moon moves through Taurus she is going to inconjunct Venus. Give and take. A rock and a hard place. Keeping what we have - our resources, our money, our values, our self esteem (Taurus) vs freedom/those greener grasses over there that we might or might not reach (Sagittarius) - sorry there's no guarantees with any of this.

Then she inconjuncts Mars - more Venus interacting uncomfortably with planets answering to HER. Mars needing to be balanced/direct and not all passive-aggressive nonsense and finally the Moon in Taurus trines Pluto - here's where the square to Pluto from just a couple days earlier gets some emotional smooth flow (with authority/power) if we have managed this Full Moon story by not hiding and not burning the whole place down.

By Saturday, she is in Gemini meeting the North Node of FATE - the path ahead for us - and meeting up with Black Moon Lilith, now we are emotionally merged with our cosmic bad-girl. This is Gemini - what have we learned?? In Gemini there is always another door/window/CHOICE. Stay flexible. Keep an open mind. Ask more questions. Lilith wasn't afraid to run away from the garden, well, maybe she was afraid but she chose freedom over comfort anyway and in some way we have to do this now, too.

Bottom line - this is a volatile Full Moon - Mars/Pluto pulls in some DANGER WILL ROBINSON flashing lights, but also makes some power moves/plays on OUR part possible, too. Just get real about your motivations - the negative Mars/Pluto we talked about earlier are the no-no's. Although even the no-no's are probably not totally avoidable right now because the stuff we have stuffed is coming up. If we can stay motivated by justice, balance, freedom we have a better chance of lining ourselves up with the best possible outcomes.

Pluto (and Eris) will pull in the things we don't want to look at and Mars will say look (and deal) we must. Release what is dead. You won't have a choice anyway. And in Plutonian language if it isn't growing it's dead.

We can rise from the ashes a BRAND NEW PERSON with this one.

I 'll hedge my bets with a trip to Goodwill with some old faux leather handbags - kind of the modern version of tossing virgins into volcanoes, I think - and try for some sorely needed justice/change in my own life over the next two weeks as this Full Moon's story unwinds.

Weekly Astrology Forecast | October 18th - 24th, 2021 - green means go, the conversation shifts, our fortune changes, fast endings without closure that chart a new course, that luck we thought had run out well maybe it hasn't, an intense week

What a week! Yes, another one - 2021 is going to go out with a bang folks.

On MONDAY, the Moon is in "let's get started" Aries - we are nourished/nurtured by action, passion, initiative, anger, time spent moving our bodies, time spent with men. Her only aspect today is a stabilizing sextile (opportunity) to Saturn at 7:14PM EDT. Good for taking something seriously/dealing with authority and stepping into our own.

Mercury AND Jupiter station direct (they are both direct before noon EDT).

This is FORWARD movement and good news for our relationships.

With Mercury direct - the conversation shifts. Our thinking changes. Stuck distribution channels come unstuck. Decisions get made - we decide. They do, too. If someone has come back into our life during Mercury's long retrograde through Libra - well, that situation might fade to black now. Bye-bye. If someone has disappeared, this week is when they might make a re-appearance.

With Jupiter direct - our fortune can shift. We (and everyone else) start LOOKING AHEAD. Group/online situations come unstuck. We should begin to feel more optimistic as Jupiter - the planet of hope and luck - gets up to speed over the next few days.

Mars (at 22 degrees Libra) is trining Jupiter - at the degree of his station AFTER he turns direct. HERE is where you want to be taking action - Monday afternoon EDT. This is a smooth flow. Our efforts can make us lucky/hopeful. This is the natural trine between your Libra house and your Aquarius house amped up with the energy of two powerful planets. AND the Moon in Aries answering to Mars with that applying sextile to serious Saturn helps, too. Think - expansive action. Think - optimistic action. Keep in mind Mars is still in Libra - be balanced, cordial, social, fair, diplomatic, but also DIRECT. Mercury is direct - SAY what you want. If you have been back and forth over something/put something on hold/or need to DEFEND yourself/what you value - Monday afternoon looks like the time for some positive action.

(I had a customer contact me last week. She had asked me to include a little freebie with her order and I forgot to include it. She emailed me about how disappointed she was and then added, "let me know how this happened". I was not at all surprised she used this kind of wording because of all the passive-aggressive Libra energy. It's impacting all of us. Maybe she normally would have said, "can I still get this?" or "can you fix this" or maybe she would have just been pissed off and trashed my feedback. I don't know, but I do know the astrology and knowing the astrology, I was able to respond and not react. I didn't take it personally and I didn't start explaining "how this happened" because I knew what she really wanted was for me to apologize and do the thing I said I would do. So, that's what I did.)

Venus (at 11 degrees Sagittarius and answering to Jupiter) opposes a retrograde Ceres - in Gemini and answering to Mercury. Oppositions bring things to peak energy and often to an end. Ceres rules season of life situations (also situations where compromise is needed or where important things we care about/nurture are out of our control) and with all this GO energy now, there are also BIG ENDINGS.

If something ends now KNOW we are meant to look in a new direction. The astrology is crystal clear here that the ending is fated/will move us toward something newer/BETTER (Mars/Jupiter). Keep your words/thinking/planning optimistic and focused on a wider horizon.

Now, something to keep in mind as this energy shifts is we have a BIG Full Moon in Aries opposing Mars in a couple days and then a couple days after that Mars is going to square Pluto (like the Sun did at the end of last week) - so we are going to pay attention to what is revealed and we are going to respond carefully NOT react impulsively - and then we are launched head-first into Scorpio season - co-ruled by Mars and Pluto, oh my!

This is INTENSE.

This Full Moon energy can bring fast endings where we don't get any closure. If you are a certain kind of person that will sound just awful and it might be if we stay mired in what is over. Our ability to use the direct Mercury/Jupiter energy - looking toward a more optimistic future - is paramount now.

Anyway you cut it the retrograde/review period is over.

Fast endings and equally fast beginnings are possible now. Do your Libra (trying to control someone/some situation isn't going to work - think : cooperation). Keep your wits about you. With the Mars trine Jupiter activating 2020-2022's important 22 degree energies - the stuff we are taking action on this week, the stuff we are passionate about this week, the stuff that pisses us off this week has a WIDER CONSEQUENCE.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Sunday, October 17th, 2021- let go of the need to control, let go and let God, let go or be dragged

The Moon is in Pisces now - we are nourished/nurtured by spirituality, our imagination, art, sleep, time spent near or in water, relaxation, meditation, medication, what is done behind our back, our addictions, our past, Pisces people. She meets up with ruler Neptune (retrograde) at 12:59AM EDT and goes void at 7:23PM EDT off a sextile to Pluto. She is void for the rest of the night.

The Sun in Libra reaches his exact square to powerful Pluto. Pressure. Tension. Fear. Power struggles within relationships/with authority/over contracts. Passive-aggressive/indirect manipulation. Intimacy issues. Sometimes this brings hidden/ignored health situations into the light. The way through this one is the Moon's sextile to that same powerful Pluto. Pisces is the way through. Let go/let God. Releasing what needs to go/releasing what is dead. Going with the flow. Meditation. Sometimes medication. Prayer. Rest. Forgiveness. Sacrifice. Water. Hydration. Knowing we can't control anyone else or how anyone else experiences us.

Mars, following the Sun through Libra, will square Pluto next week when we might be taking action on what comes to light now. Or something might hit more acutely. Kapow! We'll talk about this in the weekly.

Also today is Mercury's final aspect retrograde - a smooth trine to Black Moon Lilith in Gemini. If we have some controversial conversation/information that needs to be revised/re-discussed/re-evaluated - maybe something from the beginning of September, well here's when we want to be re-negotiating this. When Mercury/BML reach their final trine at the Aries Full Moon on Wednesday this will be DONE.

Mercury and Jupiter are preparing to station direct TOMORROW. The conversation changes. Our fortune changes.

A BIG and intense week ahead.

Buckle up.

And get some extra sleep.

On Monday, the Moon will be in Aries and we'll start building toward this week's Full Moon in Aries, it's a doozy!

Today's Astrology Forecast | Thursday, October 14th, 2021 - be yourself, lean on yourself, keep things light/intellectual, don't take it personally, expect the unexpected

The Moon is in individualistic Aquarius now - we are nourished/nurtured by our individuality/freak flags, our groups and causes, the goals that bring us into connection with other people, our genius, change, the future.

The Moon will meet co-ruler Saturn retrograde (limits, depression, isolation) at 4:54AM EDT,  sextile Venus at 6:03AM EDT, sextile Chiron at 10:42AM EDT, trine Mercury retrograde at 1:08PM EDT and square co-ruler Uranus retrograde at 4:51PM EDT.

The bottom-line with all these aspects is probably something along the lines of  - staying a little detached, being smart and self-reliant. The Moon in Aqua does not function well with too much emotion/drama, so keep conversations/interactions light/intellectual. We can attract what we need, heal through group interactions, talk with partners, look over contracts (check the fine-print with that applying Moon/Uranus!), but there is a need to kind of stay on the surface of things now/detach a bit, not take things too personally.

The late afternoon square to Uranus - Moon in Aquarius co-ruler - might send something off in another direction. Again if we are relying on ourselves/standing on our own two feet, there is less chance we will be thrown over. Group dynamics might be tricky. Independent work is favored. The square could toss us a wild card - maybe involving our income, our resources, our products/purchases or self-esteem.

Tomorrow we have the buoyant/confident/optimistic Sun trine Jupiter and Saturday the healing Venus/Chiron - we talked about those aspects in the weekly HERE

The Moon will be void most of the day tomorrow BUT she will go void off a trine to the Sun (after she meets Jupiter, so pulls our emotions into the Jupiter/Sun flow), so continue to perform.

xo all

Keep in mind Mercury is still retrograde and Mars is still part of that same antsy pile-up in Libra. Both Mars and the Sun are headed toward challenges with Pluto. Keep a cool head. Take direct and well-thought through action, as opposed to passive-aggressive or impulsive/angry moves. Watch your triggers. Know some things are outside your control. This is all building to next week's Full Moon in Aries (our annual Mars ruled lunation) - endings, and the new starts they bring, can happen fast. Closure might be hard to come by. Hold on loosely. Defend what you value. Again keep in mind the Aqua Moon supports our genius - step back a bit, THINK, don't take things personally.

Weekly Astrology Forecast | October 11th - 17th, 2021 - structure and stability, a light on old opportunities, renewed faith and optimism, luck, making adjustments, the wound is where the light gets in

We start this week with a FORWARD moving Saturn - DADDY'S HOME. Situations with authority/with our own authority can begin to move forward.

Depending on our natal relationship with Saturn direct - things will either get more stabilizing/help can arrive/delays can end/rewards for hard work can come in OR walls/rules/responsibilities that have been relaxed can feel like they are tightening up.

The GOOD news - Saturn's first aspect after station will be an opportunistic sextile with Venus in Sagittarius. This can bring structure/stability to financial situations, our relationships, our self-esteem, travel, education, foreign or legal situations.

The even BETTER news, this is the week the Sun will trine Jupiter - we might find ourselves re-evaluating old opportunities/panning for old gold. New doors can open into old rooms or old doors into new rooms. This is smooth flow. Things falling into place. Luck. Expansion. We won't have to push. An improved/more optimistic outlook is possible now.

There are multiple inconjuncts this week - rocks and hard places, but really spaces where some give and take is needed. Stay flexible.

Also - there is a heads up that immediately following this forecast the Sun is going to square Pluto (Monday, the 17th, so it is building all this week, coloring the week with the energies of a POWER STRUGGLE - we don't want to be trying to dominate/manipulate someone this week). We've seen this coming since the Sun went into Libra (a cardinal sign like Capricorn). This can bring some intense challenges within relationships/contracts/our natal Libra house themes - keep this in mind. We want to be smart/playing our cards right. Also keep in mind, the day AFTER the Pluto square, Mercury AND Jupiter are going to station direct. So, lots of avenues for forward movement after we get past that challenge.

SEEK OUT opportunities to better/improve the situation. Follow up with what shows up. Give whatever comes to your attention another look.

TUESDAY - Mercury inconjunct Uranus

WEDNESDAY - Venus sextiles Saturn, Sun inconjunct Neptune

FRIDAY - Sun trine Jupiter

SATURDAY -  Venus trine Chiron, Mars inconjunct Neptune, Mercury sextile Venus

TUESDAY - Mercury, retrograde @ 13 degrees Libra inconjuncts Uranus, retrograde in Taurus

Now Mercury is doing what the New Moon did last week. The difference is we now have Venus, ruler of BOTH Taurus and Libra in Sagittarius (instead of Scorpio). She is not so much about diving into the details as she (as us) is about needing to be more optimistic/have faith. If we think about the Libra/Taurus inconjunct this is about cardinal air vs fixed earth. Libra needs some space and Taurus wants to own the situation. Libra's indecisiveness (since she can see both sides) can make Taurus cray-cray. It can be challenging to make a decision now.

Mercury's inconjunct with Uranus can bring unexpected (not totally because Uranus is retrograde) news or communications/conversations that shake things up.

WEDNESDAY - Venus @ 6 degrees Sagittarius sextiles Saturn in Aquarius, the Sun @ 21 degrees Libra inconjuncts Neptune, retrograde in Pisces

UPDATE - note our serious/goal oriented Moon in Cappy will go void at 6:53AM EDT off her monthly meeting with Pluto - she will be void until 4:47PM EDT.

Venus/Saturn is support/opportunities to stabilize our relationships, money, values. Our hopes/ideals are given definition. Commitments are made. We are taking responsibility for what we want. Good for situations involving authority and stepping into our own. At the same time the Libra's Sun's inconjunct with Neptune shines a light on relationship imbalances, old dreams and relationship sabotaging escape mechanisms.

FRIDAY - the Sun @ 22 degrees Libra trines Jupiter, retrograde in Aquarius

Old doors can reopen. Opportunities we missed the first time through can come back around. People from the past/old contracts/relationships can prove helpful. This is a smooth aspect - we won't have to force things. There are benefits here certainly, but just keep in mind the Sun's next stop is that square to Pluto.

There is growth/expansion here, but over-confidence/exaggeration/bullshit can lead to challenges as this "over" stuff pulls us into manipulative/compulsive/Plutonian territory.

We have access to confidence/luck now, YES, just keep in mind this access is solar and this is Libra season - diplomacy, civility, fairness, beauty, relationship.

SATURDAY - Venus @ 10 degrees Sagittarius trines Chiron in Aries

Venus/Chiron - here is a healing opportunity for our values, finances, relationships through optimism/faith or maybe here is where our vulnerabilities are making us stronger and not weaker. We attract what we need/want by NOT having all the answers/by allowing ourselves to be seen as flawed. This is smooth flow in fire signs, so some action will be needed on our part to get this energy lit.

At the same time Mercury @ 10 degrees Libra is sextiling Venus, so creating opportunities via ideas/communication. Good for being out and about/social. Having an adventure together. Good time to ask for help/attract what you want via our words. This all flows into the Venus/Chiron healing.

The challenge today is Mars @ 20 degrees Libra inconjunct Neptune in Pisces - this aspect can bring out the more passive-aggressive Mars in Libra energy and create challenges within relationships. Keep things direct, but not heavy. A time out might be needed (or a nap) just don't take the 'escape/fantasy' or any kind of bending over backwards/self-sacrifice too far either.

Today and Tomorrow's Astrology Forecast | October 8th - 9th, 2021 - getting something started/moving forward, clarity, attracting old gold and old love, ironing out the details, revising an agreement

We have a lot going on over the next couple days! You are already feeling this.

On FRIDAY, the Moon is deep in Scorpio - we are nourished by getting to the bottom of things (and the kind of 'hitting rock bottom' that precedes an emotional overhaul), intensity, intimacy, secrets, power, control. She opposes a retrograde Uranus (in Taurus) at 8:59AM EDT. This is unpredictable energy, good for changes through elimination - clearing our closets, inboxes, plugging money/energy leaks. The Moon trines a retrograde Neptune at 8:52PM EDT (compassion, art, spirituality) and squares a retrograde Jupiter at 11:03PM EDT.

The Sun meets Mars at 15 degrees Libra - starting a new cycle.

This is a GO. Just keep in mind this is happening in balanced Libra, so we want to be seeking fairness, beauty, civility. We have to take the other person into consideration, too. The Sun opposed Mars almost exactly one year ago (October 13, 2020) - that was the culmination/ending, our relationships were rocking and rolling and maybe not in a good way. Now we have the fresh new BEGINNING. New relationships. New energy brought into our existing relationships. New ways to achieve greater balance/justice.

A light shines on what we have to do to get what we want.

Mercury retrograde sextiles Juno (in Sagittarius) - this is part two of a three-peating aspect - their first dance was back on September 9, 2021. This is opportunity for agreement within our partnerships/contracts. Balanced/harmonious/agreeable communication is supportive. Something has changed in the last month, since we are now revising/reviewing, but still things are looking up/more hopeful/expansive. Just keep in mind that sextiles require some efforting on our part. We will get the third Mercury/Juno sextile with Mercury direct on November 4th - when the deal is sealed.

On SATURDAY, the Moon in Scorpio goes void off a sextile to Scorpio ruler Pluto at 2:05AM EDT and will be void until 11:24AM EDT (sleep in you won't miss anything important) when she moves into Sagittarius. Now we are nurtured by something BIGGER, bolder, more expansive, our hope/faith/big picture beliefs. She meets up with Venus at 3:36PM EDT and sextiles a retrograde and stabilizing Saturn at 10:23PM EDT.

Her meeting with Venus happens just as Venus is crossing over the South Node. The South Node of the Moon is a portal to our most common patterns, our past lives and ancestral inheritance. Old loves, hopes, beliefs, money situations are activated now. Maybe something from the past makes us feel more hopeful/expansive. Past life/old situations with love, money, our values and self-esteem are energized. We are attracting old gold/old love and people and situations that feel familiar. Something could fall right into - or out of - our laps this week. The Moon fires up this situation today and makes things more emotional.

AND this is happening while a retrograde Mercury, the ruler of the North Node (future) is meeting the Sun and then Mars! This adds another layer to the Venus/Moon/South Node story.

A retrograde Mercury meeting the Sun (at 16 degrees Libra - people with cardinal planets/points near the middle degrees are on fire this week) is the inferior conjunction of the Sun/Mercury cycle. HERE (what is happening now, what we are talking about/thinking about/finding out) is what this Mercury retrograde back and forth has been/is all about. Even though Mercury is still retrograde and reviewing/revising, etc - there is some CLARITY/insight now. Then Mercury takes this clarity to Mars - who had his own fresh start with the Sun just yesterday. Now our thinking and our actions are working together. We want to be taking action AND we want to continue to let this story unfold a bit/expect some revisions as Mercury's retrograde journey continues.

How this works into the Venus/Moon/South Node depends on what we do with what we learn. Mercury rules the North Node - the future, our smoothest path ahead - and Venus is opposing the North Node now. The familiar may not be the best way to go. Karmic doesn't mean 'happily ever after', it really just means unfinished.

But if we are smart and play our cards right we might be able to get the best of both worlds - familiarity/comfort AND something lighter/smarter/fresher all at the same time. This is all about Libra, so again, focus on cooperation/collaboration, civility, balance, fairness. This is a tricky week, probably uber challenging for some of us being directly impacted, so if you are breezing right through this stuff, keep in mind other people might not be - be kind ....

Pluto stations direct | October 6th, 2021 - power, intensity, here is the death that was postponed, here is the transformation the dying has brought us, who are we now

Pluto stationed retrograde back on April 27, 2021 at 26 degrees Capricorn and started (from our perspective on Earth) moving backward.

Today, the Lord of the Underworld, stations direct at 24 degrees Capricorn. He will get all the way to 28 degrees Capricorn by April 29, 2022 when he will station retrograde and then move back to 26 degrees Cappy.

So, 24-25 degrees start their final pass right now. People with planets/points in Capricorn (and the other cardinal signs - Aries, Cancer and Libra by squares and oppositions) nearest these degrees might feel this movement strongest.

(Facebook launched in 2004 with a natal 26 degree Capricorn Mercury (ruler of everyday tech, communication) went dark a couple days ago, as Pluto slowed to station and transiting Mercury, had just stationed at 25 degrees Libra - squaring Facebook's natal Mercury. They had a bunch of other things going on and we had Mercury inconjunct Neptune created confusion about what/why the blackout happened. Mars is combust in Libra, too, the sign of 'social'. Eris is squaring Pluto and Facebook had a whistleblower speaking out at about the same time. I do think there is more here than meets the eye, the whistleblower story, yes, but also either internal manipulations, maybe a data dump, and/or external pressure, not just the congressional hearings, to limit Facebook's power and probably our own)

Pluto is an outer planet, our most outer, arguably the strongest. Can we beat Earthly death? Well, we can maybe beat it back a bit, surely, but entirely? Of course not.

Since April something in our life has died/transformed/the truth been exposed. Now, as we prepare to pass over these mega-important Cappy degrees one final time in our lifetimes through 'death' we want to be stepping toward something more empowering and away from what was keeping us stuck/invested in what someone else owns/controls.

Through the truth that has come (or will come) out AND from allowing (and we probably had no choice) something to end/die/transform WE are transformed/being transformed/made more powerful (even if it looks like we have lost our power, are standing in a wasteland - trust me, we are being made more authentically powerful - there are power/resources that can only come to us through death/what we lose).

Maybe what we feared would happen, has happened or is happening.

Keep in mind now, we are not the same people who lived through these Cappy degrees in the past.

We can bow to the grief or rise from the ashes.

With a stellium of planets in Libra and a powerful New Moon as Pluto stations direct - we are right on schedule to change/transform the way we do relationships/give ourselves balance/fairness and peace.

In fact, life is demanding it of us. This is Cappy so our next move will always be mature/practical.

Keep in mind - Mercury is still retrograde, Mars is blown out by the Sun and in detriment. We are in a space where we want to be NOT AFRAID of conflict, but allowing cooperation/diplomacy/civility to HANDLE IT.

We are letting go of the idea that life is hard and we have to fight to survive or need someone else's authority/protection. Or we are clinging to these ideas with our shriveled up, old lady fingers. This is up to us.

Venus is about to move into Sagittarius and cross the South Node - we are letting go of limiting beliefs. Boldness/a need for adventure will allow us to see things we hadn't seen before. Consider new options.

If something ends now, know the ending is creating the space to be filled, by us, with SELF EMPOWERMENT. An old space/identity has been outgrown. Clarity about all this is coming and we are making much of this up as we go along as always.

Keep a cool head. Keep moving forward.

Take a breath. Work the New Moon - avoid Libra's shadow of people pleasing/bending over backward to keep the peace. Stand up for yourself without being an assh*le. Big girl/boy pants on.

The world is moving from surviving to thriving, but we have had so many lifetimes barely surviving we all think we are dying!

Ask yourself - who am I now and how do my relationships/the way I relate to other people - need to change as a result of the changes within me?

Set your New Moon intentions:

MONTHLY AFFIRMATION TIPS:

Get grounded - we have moved from an earth sign into air so this is important - always make affirmations from a  positive place (positive meaning both certain and light-hearted/happy). It is a good idea, since the New Moon is literally a blank sheet, to work in a clean, uncluttered space and maybe right after a bath or shower.

I find affirmations are most effective if I speak less on New Moon days so my words will hold more weight when I need them to. I usually burn a white candle to help me focus and thin the veils between me and me. It also helps to channel ancestral energy a bit since I am always thinking as I move my story forward, their story moves forward with me. Write your affirmations down by hand in cursive, we want the letters all connecting and flowing together. Speak the words out loud.

This month, I'm writing mine on my chalkboard while burning a white candle - when the candle burns out, all by itself, then I erase the words first and then clean the blackboard with water. Some people store them until the corresponding Full Moon (in this case during Aries season) and burn them then. Do what feels right.

I don't think it's terribly important what we do with our writings as long as we are not pulling them out and checking on them all the time.

We are not handing a honey do list to the universe! We are lining up with the universal energies of creation here.

And I wouldn't be sharing them with other people, although this is Libra so there might be exceptions to this, which also feels like it dilutes the process or pulls them into our story. I was writing them on my blog for a few months, as examples for people, and that definitely wasn't helpful.

Then - and this is the important part - release your attention from your words knowing your intention is known.

Know these things are already yours.

the astrology of the New Moon in Libra | October 6th, 2021 - the stuff that won't stay stuffed, what's worth defending, power struggles, relationship imbalances, something begins with a bang, keep a cool head

On Wednesday, October 6th at 7:05AM EDT, the Libra Moon meets the Libra Sun at 13 degrees giving us this month's New Moon - our annual New Moon in Libra.

We look to our natal Libra house (13 degrees) for the kind of theme we will be working with personally. Then we consider the general Libra themes (relationship, partnership, balance, justice, women, beauty), our natal relationship with Venus (and Mars for this one), and we look at the event chart for the time of the New Moon, to see how this all might play out.

Happening with a stellium (group) of planets in relationship-focused Libra including Mars (EXACT with the Sun and Moon), as the Sun and Mercury and Mars get closer and closer and as Libra's ruler Venus prepares to leave Scorpio for Sagittarius and cross the South Node and just hours before Pluto (co-ruler of Scorpio) stations direct after a six month retrograde - makes this an uber POTENT fresh start.

Libra New Moons are about new ways to partner/new people/new connections/new situations. New LOVE - not the deep kind necessarily (although it could be), but the social kind that gets us invited to coffee and walks in the park. New peace and harmony. New negotiations. What is fair now? What is balanced now? What does justice look like now? This is a cardinal energy - something is going to START.

Let's take a look at this specific New Moon - let's unpack the chart!

The Moon/Sun are EXACT, conjunct with Mars and tightly conjunct asteroid Karma. They oppose hurting/healing Chiron and trine Ceres. The Moon/Sun form the apex of a Finger of God formation with Uranus/Chiron as the base. Venus, the ruler of Libra and so the ruler of this lunation, sits uncomfortably at the end of Scorpio, opposed by Sedna and answering to Mars and Pluto. Mars is in Libra answering to Venus and Pluto is retrograde, strong and still at station and preparing to begin moving forward within hours. Pluto is in Saturn's sign, Capricorn, and Saturn is also strong and still at station and preparing to move forward within days.

The New Moon's conjunction with a challenged Mars, not able to be his fiery Martian self in Libra, the sign of his detriment (his opposing sign as the ruler of Aries) brings some challenges.

The good news for Mars is he is in a mutual reception with Venus (for just a little while longer), since Venus is in his other sign - Scorpio. So Mars can access Scorpio, but has to go through Venus (women, balance, civility, diplomacy, beauty) to get there. AND Venus is in Scorpio so can access Libra, but has to go through Mars (men, passion, action, anger). Likely there is an elephant in the room we are trying to avoid dealing with and that ain't gonna work. Cue potential passive-aggressive madness.

This Mars conjunction brings passion/fire/impulsivity, maybe anger to whatever is starting. And keep in mind something is always initiated at the New Moon.  Mars likes to push, but this pushing can come out all passive-aggressive sideways in Libra, so we need to be on our toes here. The feeling that we have to do this NOW can be strong. Mars position tells us action on our part (maybe connected to our identity or the need to defend something of value) IS required.

We'll get back to Mars.

The New Moon is opposing Chiron. This aspect is separating, so the wounding/painful trigger - whatever is inspiring the New Moon event - is in our past. Chiron is also retrograde so this trigger will actually have its roots in a much older situation we may or may not remember.

The New Moon is trining Ceres (preparing to turn retrograde in a  couple days). Trines speak of free-moving energy/obstacles removed. In Gemini, Ceres speaks of smart nurturing. Giving people options. She isn't all cuddly here, so we won't need to be either. Nurturing is expressed through learning and then acting on what we have learned. Gemini is the sign of duality, so there may be more than one way forward, more than one thing that needs to be done at the same time. Ceres also rules season of life situations - are we nurturing something no longer in our life or something that is STILL ALIVE?

With the New Moon (plus Mars) forming the apex of a Finger of God whose base is Uranus and Chiron, it might be the Chironic wounding came out of the blue (if we are honest with ourselves this will not be something totally unexpected with Uranus and Chiron both retrograde) and connects with our future and is a GIFT. Probably because it pushes us to take some action we have been avoiding or maybe because something unexpected happens/some 'third way' through that helps us with this New Moon situation.

The New Moon is inconjunct Uranus which speaks of a sudden event/situation that pushes us to move either before we are ready or in a way we were not totally expecting (Uranus is retrograde, so this won't be something we couldn't somewhat see coming). We are going to need to avoid sudden moves - our Mars will be itching - and we need to avoid passive avoidance - our Venus will be maybe wanting to sit this one out or maybe in Scorpio she wants to go over things again and again, especially if we are feeling neglected/scapegoated and then not get anywhere. Neither way will work and compromise will be uncomfortable and not so effective. What do we do?

Pluto will station direct just hours after this New Moon and with Venus in Scorpio answering to the Lord of the Underworld, his station is even more prominent here. Here is the death/ending that was postponed or here is the transformation that has resulted from the 'death'. Pluto is POWER. Pluto is FEAR. Keep in mind, his movement here is slow, almost imperceptible, but IS happening. Consider when you change gears in your car from reverse to first, but still have your foot on the brake. Our car/our body will feel the change even though we haven't moved. People with planets and points in late-ish Cappy but before 24 degrees will feel this as a lessening/unburdening/things feel less like life and death/less urgent. People with planets/points in late Cappy and on or after 24 degrees might feel pretty much the reverse of this (this includes the United States natal Pluto set for its first exact pass on a Pluto return in February 2022, but in play now - this is about massive structural change in our systems). This is all part of the New Moon story.

OK, back to Mars (and what do we do?).

Mars will push us to move fast and if we do this, well, we will find out the ways fast is good and the ways fast is not so good. The bathwater gets tossed, but probably the baby does, too. Things can get dicey. This isn't some 'charge into battle' Moon with Mars so debilitated, BUT Mars position in this chart tells us some kind of balanced/civil action is probably needed.

The Moon's applying trine to Jupiter might indicate that impulsive/brash action can make problems bigger than they need to be. It also warns of over-doing, over-promising or over-trusting - this might be brought home to us when the Moon meets up with Jupiter in the middle of October. On the other hand, this applying trine to Jupiter - the Moon will meet up with Jupiter on the 15th - brings us luck/good news if we can play our cards right.

Think assertive instead of aggressive.

Take a moment. Catch your breath.

The Moon's final square to a recently stationed Pluto asks us:

Are we willing to let go of our ego attachments that are no longer serving us/making us feel loved/bringing us peace? Can we let go of the stuff we are no longer passionate about? Our old ways of doing relationships? The old things we are doing within our relationships? The old ways we fight or the old ways we flight?

Are we willing to step into new spaces/step up to new plates? Defend what we value? Take action on someone else's abuse of power?

This looks like a power struggle plain and simple.

We need to be facing the facts and taking organized action.

We need to keep a cool head - and this cooling our head thing won't mean burying it.

The Sun/Moon/Mars are conjunct asteroid Karma, so the New Moon situation will have some connection to us resisting old trauma/the spaces we are holding it in our cells. Mostly we fear change/chaos rather than seeing its opportunities.

Be smart - and Pallas is sitting with Uranus in Taurus at the base of the Finger of God, so we have access to her wisdom (how to keep what we have/what we need). Angry moves, too much haste, exaggeration will not work out so well for us. Balanced action, diplomacy, being on the right side of the law/being fair will work out better for us.

There are some things that are meant to go now and Pluto will see to that.

We proceed with caution, but proceed we must.

xo all

Keep in mind Mars and Mercury and the Sun will all meet up within a couple days AFTER this New Moon - this will bring more clarity and help us decide what actions we need to take. We will talk about it as we move through it.

Weekly Astrology Forecast | October 4th - October 10th, 2021 - HUGE week, New Moon in Libra, Daddy's home, here is the death/transformation that was postponed, reconnections, clarity

This is a HUGE/powerful week. I think you were hoping I would say, "this is a boring week, nothing will happen, go back to bed". Am I right?! No, that's just you Catherine, you say, we are ready for this you say. Hmm. We will see. I am not sure I am ready since I know I have to fight this week (more about that in the New Moon post), but here we go!

(also someone tell me if anyone else is living these weekly forecasts in advance like I am - does this week sound like last week to you?, has this "Age of Aquarius, life at the speed of light" gotten even the astro ahead of itself?)

We have a BIG New Moon in Libra, Venus changes signs, Mars and Mercury retrograde meet the Sun and each other AND both Saturn and Pluto station direct. WHEW!

Let's take a quick look at the week ahead and expect a  BIG New Moon post tomorrow where much of the next two weeks will be unpacked.

MONDAY - Sun trines Ceres

TUESDAY - Mercury inconjuncts Neptune

WEDNESDAY - New Moon in Libra, Pluto stations direct

THURSDAY - Venus enters Sagittarius

FRIDAY - Sun conjuncts Mars, Ceres stations retrograde

SATURDAY - Sun conjuncts Mercury, Mercury conjunct Mars

SUNDAY - Saturn stations direct

MONDAY - the Sun, at 12 degrees Libra trines Ceres in Gemini. This is smooth/balanced flow in our communications with other people. Nurturing is balanced/accepted if we keep things light/intellectual/try some humor. Give other people options.

TUESDAY - this is the second Mercury/Neptune inconjunct (the one where Mercury is retrograde so we are revising/reviewing, etc) - the first was back on September 18th. Here is where we get to re-do/re-think whatever communication/information/conversation drifted off course last month. What needs to be cleared up?

WEDNESDAY - The Libra Moon meets the Libra Sun at 13 degrees giving us this month's New Moon, our annual New Moon in Libra. EXACTLY conjunct Mars - fresh starts will be turbo-charged, passionate, angry. There is alot going on with this one - we'll talk about this in a BIG post next.

Pluto, at 24 degrees Capricorn, stations direct. Squaring Eris, yes, still, this can bring up uncomfortable truths. Here is the death that was postponed or the transformation of what has died. Mars and Pluto are the co-rulers of Scorpio and Venus, ruler of Libra and this New Moon is in Scorpio - so this station happening just hours after the New Moon is mucho important.

We'll talk about this in the New Moon post, too!

THURSDAY - Venus enters Sagittarius. About 24 hours after her BIG New Moon, Venus rises from murky Scorpio into 'sky's the limit' Sagittarius.

Sagittarius Suns and Ascendants (1st house cusps) get more attractive now - both able to attract what they want/need and are easier on the eye. All of us get a visit from Venus in our Sagittarius houses (what house or houses carry Venus energy in your natal chart?) and those houses get more magnetic.

Sagittarius is the sign of the archer. If we were archers - we would gather our energy. We would pull back our bow. We would take aim. We would hold our bow "in tension". This holding position is important to landing our arrow where we intend it to go - to hit our target (of course, if we are in some kind of life and death battle with that arrow then I guess we just let it fly and hope for the best, but most situations we are facing are not quite so dire)

The same way an archer's "in tension" allows her arrow to hit her mark, our own "intentions" release our energy where we need it to go. Intentions are not wishes; they are not hopes - wanting to do something is 180 degrees from intending to do it. Set your New Moon intentions this month - they will be uber powerful.

Intention releases the potential that makes things happen.

So, we have Venus (love, women, beauty, what we value, our self esteem, money) moving into the sign of "potential".

Experience is more valuable than stuff with Sagittarius. Money (Venus) spent on experiences/travel will be well spent. Money (Venus) spent on other Sagittarius themes - higher education, legal issues, weddings, politics - will probably pay off, too, in the experiences we get back.

The search we began when Venus dove into Scorpio continues. But now instead of looking at the stuff that is underneath, the underpinnings none of us really want to look at, she looks way out into the horizon at the stuff we might one day meet up with. Sagittarius is the sign of faith. Do we have faith that better days are ahead for us? This faith stuff is risky and Sagittarians have been known to fall on their ass and even off a cliff now and then. But is there really any alternative to not trying? This is the season of faith and potential for all Venus ruled themes - love, money, women, beauty, self-esteem, our values.

How are we going to use this energy? Remember the archer. The archer stays focused and holds herself "in tension" through all the noise. We have our bow drawn and we are focused on the target, but suddenly the dog barks, the phone rings, the guy next door starts blasting Adele and you know we have to stop and listen to that.

(and sometimes this noise can last a while and sometimes life sends us noise to test our intentions and see how badly we want something or sometimes the noise could be there to delay us because there is something better for us later or other people's arrows need to line up with ours)

Because once that arrow is released, it is released. There is no grabbing it midair and straightening that baby out (unless you have some super power that I would be totally jealous to find out about).

We have to have faith enough to release the arrow anyway. Bulls-eyes can be highly over-rated. Sometimes it's the missed targets (did you know the word "sin" was originally an archery term that meant - "to miss the mark") that lead to the best adventures!

Venus is going to cross over the South Node (a portal to past lives/old common or karmic patterns), pulling people from our past (or new people with similar energy patterns to those from our past), people and situations from the past connected with our money and self-esteem into our NOW. In Sagittarius, this can bring opportunity, luck, give us hope (depending on what we are carrying in early Sagittarius) or can bring karmic endings/bills coming due/the need to let go.

Keep in mind this aspect can also slide us right into repetition. There is already a groove here which is the reason this might all feel so comfortable. Is this something/someone still a good fit or are we just too comfortable here for our own good? Mercury is retrograde in Libra's sign, so this will likely ravel/unravel itself as we move through the days and weeks ahead.

FRIDAY/SATURDAY - Sun meets Mars, Sun Meets Mercury, Mercury meets Mars - this is all happening within 15-16 degrees Libra, so will be felt strongest by people with planets points near this range (or the other cardinal signs by squares and oppositions).

Mars starts a new cycle with the Sun - this is passion/energy, new goals. In the sign of Libra, this shines a light on our relationships/our need for balance and fairness. Keep in mind Mars in Libra can bring the need for confrontation just so some steam can get blown off and now he is not only in the sign of his detriment, but he is being blown out by the Sun. Then Mercury comes in to pick up the new Mars solar story. A light is thrown on information/communication. This is the part of the Mercury retrograde cycle where we get some clarity/HERE is what this retrograde is all about. Then Mercury meets Mars. Clarity/action - just keep in mind Mercury is still retrograde, so we are still revising/reviewing, doing the "re's". It's probably not the time for big moves just yet. Mars in Libra will be squaring Pluto on October 22, so there could be some need now (in preparation) to take action to protect/preserve something we want to keep - maybe something structural, stabilizing or career related, before we get to that square.

SUNDAY - Saturn stations direct at 6 degrees Aquarius. His retrograde "review" wraps up. He will move direct until he gets to 25 degrees Aquarius next April when he stations retrograde again and backtracks to 18 degrees.

For people with planets and points between 6 and 13 degrees Aquarius (and the other fixed signs, which will get squares and oppositions) Saturn will make his third pass (hang in there!) over those spaces during the next few weeks and months.

There are a few things that will happen now.

Saturn's direct motion can release pent up pressure in our Aquarius house allowing us to make solid moves toward our goals and ambitions (and our natal Aquarius house theme).

It could have felt, during his retrograde, that we were getting further away from our goals or where we want to be in this area of our life. Maybe obligations weighed heavily. Walls and limitations had to be faced. Corners we had previously cut were noted to be missing.

The bills came due. Maybe we learned to say, "no". Maybe we learned to say "yes" to something we had been avoiding. Saturn always gives rewards, but they are Saturnian rewards - coming after we've put in the time and hard work to build something that lasts. And yes, the thing that lasts IS the reward!

Our long range goals that have been stuck can start to move forward now.

With Saturn (father time) direct - daddy's home! - greater external structure is brought into our lives.

This can feel supportive and rewarding or like a wall/limit/roadblock depending on how we relate to Saturn natally and what we have been doing during his retrograde.

Dad's homeHave we been goofing off? Staying out late? Running up the electric bill? Worn out his favorite chair or left his tools out in the rain to rust?

Karmic books get balanced. Remember, karma isn't about punishment. It is simply cause and effect - we are just being served what we ordered. Most of us do alot of this "ordering" unconsciously.

If we don't like what we are being served - we can choose to do things differently today. Right now. This minute. The wheel keeps spinning! Multiple planets station and change signs this week and we have a New Moon - change is happening! Keep in mind Mercury is still retrograde and Saturn and Pluto are moving VERY slowly, so progress could be slow for awhile. We might continue to feel the ramifications of 'dug in' situations.

xo all - back with that New Moon post! Please excuse any typos - I can proof read three times and still find them these days ...

Mercury retro squares Pluto for weeks | October 1st, 2021 - power struggles, communication trouble, the wounding that leads to compulsive re-thinking, the inner issue beneath the outer issue

Because of Mercury's retrograde through Libra, his square to Pluto (retrograde, too) TODAY will basically be in play, off and on, until November!

This aspect was last exact with Mercury direct on September 22nd, so something from now might connect back to then. This is about intense conversations, power struggles. Eris is opposing Pluto from Aries bringing in the energy of something we probably don't want to deal with!

And Mars, in Libra, opposing Chiron in Aries, also EXACT today, speaks of dealing with a painful result/culmination. Mars, the warrior, and not so happy traveling through Libra's land of civility speaks of our attempts to be nice/please someone else/not rock the boat/not get mad - these machinations don't work and probably just make us resentful, but pushing/forcing our way through with no consideration for others won't be comfortable with Mars in Libra, and won't work, either.

Regardless, we need to speak up/stand up for ourselves/be ourselves/keep moving anyway. With Mars in Libra our relationships are trigger territory now. If we know this going in - we can do a better job handling it.

The Mercury/Pluto speaks of power struggles/intense information or communication. Something that feels like life and death. It might be, but probably isn't. There could be manipulations/something behind the smile. Someone is saying something to us and we just know they are really meaning something else. of course, with Mercury retrograde we could be just as wrong about their motives as we might be about our own.

What is the real issue beneath the surface issue? Why are we ruminating over this conversation or those words? The real wounding is very old and very deep. The retrograde Mercury squaring deep Pluto gives us access.

Mars/Chiron says any move we make is going to hurt anyway, so make the best one.

The way through today's morass if we hit one - we have the Moon (in Leo now) sextiling the Sun.

This month's Waning Sextile - Leo/Libra. The Moon in Leo wants to stand out/have fun/enjoy recreation, romance, children. The Sun in Libra wants to shine with other people/stay in balance/be fair and cordial. Libra and Leo are sextile signs because we CAN shine AND be in balance with other people at the same time.

Fun is more fun with other people. It just is.

Leo confidence/joy is the way through today. Lighten up. The Leo Moon wants appreciation/attention, so don't be afraid to stand out. Just be honest about it (that square to Pluto), our fake smiles aren't fooling anybody. Avoid being a selfish jerk and we'll get through this one.

Keep in mind the Mercury/Pluto is an ongoing aspect we are already dealing with and not apt to wind itself up with Mercury retrograde, but  certainly we are more likely to get to the bottom of something. With Mercury in balanced Libra - fairness is our goal here. Just work the process.

Shine like the star you are. Just remember everyone else is a star, too.
