LIFE IS CHANGING.
The conversation, our actions, the way we show up and the things we show up for.
We have three planets changing signs this week and one that just changed direction. We now have all planets direct (for just a couple weeks until Pluto turns around) plus two inner planets in fire signs.
Let's unpack the week.
WEDNESDAY - Mercury re-enters Aries
THURSDAY - Mercury conjuncts Neptune
FRIDAY - Mars re-enters Leo (!)
SATURDAY - Sun enters Taurus, Mars trines Neptune
SUNDAY - Sun squares Mars, Mercury sextiles Pluto and Venus sextiles Uranus
MONDAY - the Moon moved into fellow water sign Scorpio last night. Now we are nurtured/nourished by power, going deep, knowing something/someone more intimately, sex, secrets, getting to the bottom line, eliminating what needs to go. A great Moon for expulsion. People born with the Moon here are intense! They have intense mamas, too.
Luna catches up with Vesta and squares Pallas. The Goddess energy is very active today. We could be fixated on a background issue, intimacy, reproduction, secret, tax/insurance/inheritance situation. If something here has been keeping us up at night this might feel especially intense now. The square to Pallas in Aquarius brings tension and frustration from something more detached and logical or maybe from a group or the internet. Detachment vs depth. We might be way more invested in something emotionally than someone else and this creates tension and challenges. Maybe something is sucking up a ton of our time or energy or resources and this is where we need to take a smart step back. Would a little distance do the situation some good? Scorpio/Aquarius squares sometimes bring reminders of the buried/shadow issues that enable our freedom and can present opportunities via our back against the wall/tension/frustration to shift out of tired patterns. The involvement of Vesta and the Moon could make this particularly strongly felt for some people.
TUESDAY - the Moon in Scorpio is going to trine Venus, oppose Uranus, trine Saturn/Mars/Mercury and finally move into Sagittarius. Lots of things are going on. Lots of things are falling into place. Keep an open mind and plans somewhat flexible for that opposition to Uranus/change/disruption to pop in at some point. This all lands in 'bigger-is-better' skies-are-bluer adventure land of Sagittarius.
WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY - The Moon is in Sagittarius now. We are nourished/nurtured by going a little farther, making something a little bigger. Maybe our attention turns to Sag themes - travel, adventure, publishing, media, legal, foreign stuff, weddings, higher education. The Moon is sextiling Pluto on Wednesday - good for our relationship with power or groups. She opposes Jupiter on Thursday when we might take on too much, over-do something, over-promise and might have to dial something down a bit. Since she is answering to Jupiter (ruler of Sag) this shouldn't be a big problem.
Mercury enters Aries and meets up with Neptune. Mercury/Neptune overall can be confusing and is not good energy for focus. Good for creative projects, to go to the movies, make or listen to music, etc. Certainly, do NOT believe everything you are hearing, reading, even saying, right now.
This is where we should start to see what Neptune in Aries (for the first time in our lives) is doing.
Maybe we get some news that offers us some clues about its collective influence. Anything that looks like 'idealizing war/fighting' is probably not good news, but at least we will know what we will be dealing with.
None of us have felt Neptune in Aries in our lifetime, so we have never had Mercury cross 0 degrees Aries/an Aries point (collective point of attention) and run into Neptune. Mercury crossed 0 degrees Aries a few weeks ago in the build-up to his/her retrograde, but a few weeks ago, NEPTUNE WASN'T IN ARIES.
So, are we getting this new more creative/compassionate/spiritual woo-woo flavored Aries (fiery fresh conversations and ideas) or do we feel like we never left Pisces? Still dazed and confused?
Worked best this is us finding our voice (new ideas, conversations, plans, etc) AND that voice being more compassionate and connecting and creative and/or bringing our new words into a more compassionate, connecting and creative space.
Mercury will be in Aries until May 10th, so his/her transit here is much more than this conjunction to Neptune. This is the time to speak up, use new words and tell new stories, move ahead with whatever we have been thinking about. Keep in mind, Mars, the ruler of Aries is still in Cancer (in his detriment and over-sensitive) for another day or so, so maybe wait a couple beats to say anything too fiery or react too quick verbally. Mercury in Aries will make our minds and words (and everyone else's) faster and SHARPER.
FRIDAY - The Moon moves into sober Capricorn. Now we are nourished/nurtured by stability and reputation and our career and father and our goals and tradition. She squares Venus and Saturn (maybe we will sleep through this EDT) bringing tension and frustration with our relationships and resources. There are LIMITS. We aren't going anywhere fast.
Then the Moon moves into a smooth trine with the Sun. This is this lunar cycle's Waning Trine - Capricorn and Taurus. This is an Earth trine, so it's very practical and common-sense. About things we can hold in our hand and take to the bank. The natural business/seriousness of Capricorn is supported by Taurus's fixed nature and inclination toward stability and growth over time. The Waning Trine itself provides ease. Something is falling into place. Authority is on our side. Limits make sense/cents. You get the idea.
Mars enters Leo. Once Mars gets back into Leo, I suspect we are going to feel it. More confidence, courage, pride. Mars has been in his detriment in watery Cancer off and on since last October due to his retrograde and that is OVER now.
Mars will quickly start applying to his opposition to Pluto - which is the third of three oppositions (the first was at the United State election) and exact next Saturday. Power struggles. Ego centered actions vs subconscious urges/intensities. Passionate or angry exchanges. Danger Will Robinson. With Pluto the stuff that is simmering underneath bubbles up. So, from here on out, no dark alleys for a few days, ok?
This is the third of three oppositions, so something here will be CONCLUDING. Collectively, Mars, through his retrograde in Leo/Cancer - brought the war (and the king/the ego) HOME. This started when Mars hit 17 degrees Cancer back on October 4, 2024, and finally finishes up on May 6, 2025 when Mars reaches 6 degrees Leo (and the United States North Node of Fate). We are almost to the finish line of this Mars retrograde ... but, not yet.
Mars retrograde always asks us to look before we leap, so did we?
The FINAL Mars/Pluto opposition is exact next Saturday, on April 26th, but in play from now until then. Mars situations tend to hit EARLY, so I thought it best to write about it now.
There are many ways this can show up for us personally and collectively - ego actions that were hidden get exposed, something that we have been trying to tamp down ERUPTS, our actions/efforts to take action or express ourselves involves us in a struggle with someone/something more powerful, we react to someone/something trying to dominate us, anger/passion can lead to destruction. Maybe our fire/Leo is met with detachment/Aquarius and it doesn't feel good.
Pluto's goal is always PERMANENT change. Keep this in mind.
With any Mars' stressful aspect, exercise is helpful. Move your body. We don't want to stuff our emotions, and we don't want to spew them all over other people either - remember we are in a waning Full Moon in Libra cycle that closed out with that Mars square! Be creative. Go for a hike. Make something. Play.
In general, Mars in Leo - and he will be here until June 17th - is great energy for taking action with projects and people that fill our heart, for stepping into the spotlight, for having fun, for being brave and taking a risk. Mars loves his time in Leo and we will want to take advantage of our increased energy and motivation, especially once he gets past Pluto in another week.
SATURDAY - the Sun enters Taurus while Mars, at 0 degrees Leo, trines Neptune.
So, again, we didn't have Neptune in Aries (answering to Mars) last time Mars was in Leo, and now BEFORE Mars gets to that opposition with transformative Pluto we have this 'brakes off/no holds barred' flow with Neptune. Which might be part of the Mars/Pluto story if we are or have been delusional with something, if the 'brakes off' have run us off the road and into a ditch. For now, the Mars/Neptune will basically show up as whatever we are doing moving along the path of least resistance. This is intuitive action, but can also be self-sabotage, so stay frosty and pay attention to what you are doing. Best use of this - we are taking action and maybe stepping into the spotlight, taking action on a dream or inspiration, taking action on a spiritual or healing matter, taking a needed rest or vacation. Neptune is answering to Mars and Mars is answering to the Sun and the Sun is changing signs and moving into Taurus.
The Sun's movement into Taurus gives us some grounding. We are all outside, shoes off, walking in the grass - or here in N.J. this would be walking in the icy mud, but hopefully some spring weather AND SUN peaks through by next weekend.
This is the energy of the seeds going into the ground and GROWING. This is the energy of stability ie what is needed for that growth to happen. If we have been feeling tilt-a-whirled and disoriented by all this Pisces/Aries - this is a good time to focus on what is most important. This is not the time to be pulling in some big, complicated thing. Think SIMPLE. Essential. Practical. The Sun will start opposing our Scorpio placements, so whatever doesn't contribute to our feeling secure and comfortable will be the stuff we are eliminating. Think about the way a garden must be weeded and the soil turned over before a planting. The Sun in Taurus is answering to an exalted Venus in Pisces for about another week. Let's take advantage of this. Where are our seeds? Our shovel? The little patch of good dirt we already have?
The shadow side of Taurus is stubbornness, an over-emphasis on material comfort and money/resources, etc - really just the positives taken to an extreme (as with all signs) so keep this in mind, too. Taureans are sometimes accused by other people of selfishness, but the truth is that the sign carries a space for very important things (values, resources) and some selfishness will come with the territory.
EASTER SUNDAY - the Moon makes a bunch of aspects in Capricorn, makes a long VOID in the afternoon and moves into Aquarius. There are alot of planetary aspects today. We have the Sun squaring Mars, Mercury sextiling Pluto and Venus sextiling Uranus.
The Sun/Mars square is about OBSTACLES. We can't just do what we want to do.
Mars is answering to the Sun which is going to be somewhat helpful, but this is still a challenging aspect. The way through is going to be today's sextiles and luckily for us there are multiple!
Venus has been through her '40 days and 40 nights' time in the desert of Aries and Pisces to get back to this sextile with Uranus in Taurus. Mercury has been through his/her own re-vising, re-thinking, re-viewing weeks in Aries and Pisces to get back to this sextile with Pluto in Aquarius. What have we learned? What are we older and wiser with? And how can this help us deal with the Sun/Mars square obstacles/not being able to do what we want to do?
Mercury/Pluto is about intense and deep conversations and research. Stepping into our power via our language, ideas and plans. Venus/Uranus (and Uranus is in Taurus so answering to Venus) is about changes with love, money and relationships. This is Pisces/Taurus, so the 'dream' is in an opportunity with the practical changes that can allow that dream to manifest. Both of these aspects are sextiles and require some efforting on our part. Note - the Moon is void from 1:21PM EDT through 7:22PM EDT, so maybe it's a kind of Ground Hog Day (rinse and repeat) even though it is Easter.
If you haven't been feeling up to snuff, this week can help with increased FIRE and some ground beneath our feet. Next week is HUGE and tricky and it will pay for us to keep in mind the Mars/Pluto that will be in play once Mars gets into Leo. We are all more prepared for this one.
I hope something here is helpful!
