On Monday, May 12th at 12:56PM EST, the Scorpio Moon will oppose the Taurus Sun at 22 degrees giving us this month's Full Moon - our annual Full Moon in deep, intense SCORPIO.
Full Moons bring things to LIGHT, to a CULMINATION or to a peak energy. There is a reason the wolves are howling.
The Full Moon in the final quadrant on Scorpio might speak of the conclusion of something INEVITABLE and the Sun's proximity to Uranus creates a sudden breakthrough or breaking point.
With a Full Moon in Scorpio, the sign of other people's resources, other people's values, other people's needs - we might find ourselves reminded of the obligations and debts we have to others as well as be able to see the results of our mergings, purgings and deep excavations more clearly - emotional, physical, financial, etc.
The opposition of the Full Moon and the Sun, already a testing aspect, is brought into the open through the modern ruler of Scorpio, Pluto, making a square with Mercury. Words bring tension/frustration. Thoughts can be obsessive (this can be how we get to the truth, but also how we see things in the shadows that aren't really there). Words can bring news of an ENDING. Or maybe we see what we haven't wanted to - the numbers don't add up, an uncomfortable truth comes into the light, etc. The stuff we have stuffed can push its way to the surface.
So can events that highlight our buried STRENGTH.
With Scorpio/Pluto, events could bring up a fear of losing what we have. Situations might feel like life and death. There will be greater intensity with whatever is going on. We could feel a PULL to merge or purge or to control. Scorpio is fixed water - a feminine sign that will not/cannot twist itself into a pretzel to fit into distorted masculine systems. The Moon is considered in her 'fall' in Scorpio. Any ruin from this Full Moon is likely to come from our focus on what we DON'T have - and what we do about that - instead of a focus and appreciation of what we DO. If we discard something now - it's GONE. Commitments will be sticky. TRUST IN LIFE. Take your time.
OK, let's unpack the chart!
The Moon at 22 degrees Scorpio (powerful degree/known recently as the 'kill or be killed' degree, 22 is also the number of "beauty/peak" in the iChing and a master number in numerology) opposes the Sun in Taurus. The Sun is conjunct Uranus at 26 degrees Taurus and Uranus is EXACT on Algol - fixed star/eye of Medusa and exact with Hygeia. The Full Moon is conjunct Juno and quincunx Jupiter. The Moon and Sun form a T-Square to Pallas in Aquarius - applying. Pallas trines Jupiter EXACT. The Full Moon trines Saturn, the North Node and Neptune - all applying. The lunation is co-ruled by Scorpio's ancient ruler, Mars, and Scorpio's modern ruler Pluto. Mars is in Leo trining Venus - separating. Pluto is in Aquarius in an EXACT square to Mercury in Taurus. We can see this is a very powerful lunation.
The Full Moon is conjunct Juno and this is applying - strong/is happening right now or hasn't happened yet. Juno rules marriage/committed partnerships/contracts. She is a space where we get a look at what we will do to retain the power we get through someone or something else. Moon/Juno is about an emotional commitment, so there is something about Full Moon events that prioritize loyalty and probably family/roots/country. Maybe with Juno conjunct this powerful Scorpio Full Moon - tired roles involving power are being released.
The Full Moon opposes Uranus/electricity/lightning/insights. We are shocked out of our sleep with truth. The Moon's opposition to Uranus/Sun speaks of uncomfortable and intense events that are, in some way, liberating. Attachments can END abruptly. If we thought we had something under control, here is where we find out that maybe we don't.
Through Saturn in Pisces (since 2023), the final sign, we are having a massive collective karmic release of - collective grief, collective fog, disillusionment, unprocessed karma, addictions, escapist behaviors. Dreams that lack structure have fallen or will. Boundaries have been blurred.
If we are/have been carrying a weight/karma for someone else, maybe here, at this powerful Scorpio Full Moon is where this weight gets lifted.
If someone else has been carrying our weight/karma, maybe here (now and over this lunar cycle as Saturn moves into Aries) is where we get it back.
The Moon/Sun are squaring smart Pallas in Aquarius. I see Pallas as a co-ruler of Aquarius and think astrology needs to get on the ball with giving the asteroid Goddesses their ownership rights! Pallas is the focus of a gnarly fixed t-square with all sides dug in. She shows there is a smart/tactical way through this (Pallas trines Jupiter in Gemini, so probably more than one way), but it will come through tension/frustration. Aqua energies ask us to detach from the drama, step back and see what is happening with less emotion. Mercury's square to Pluto can make our thinking darker than it needs to be/complicate things - Pallas's Aqua logic can help. Our communication and thinking can even be transformed now.
Power struggles are possible with Mercury/Pluto and then the Full Moon can bring high drama. Scorpio can be destructive/vengeful and Juno is infamous for her revenge scenarios.
But, this doesn't have to be a dramatic no-holds-barred fight to the finish.
The best news here - the Full Moon trines Saturn, Neptune and the North Node. There is a way forward and it lines us up with fated endings, new dreams and our best path forward.
GO WITH THE FLOW. Contacts with Jupiter allow optimism and expansion. They bring hope of something better.
Allow one event to take you to the next right thing. If something leaves, let it go. If something comes in, welcome it. Something very old is being unwound here. The 3D earthly events themselves are not giving a clear/full story.
The North Node trine shows clearly that despite whatever looks like it is happening - things are going the way they need to go. The way they are meant to go. The trine to Saturn shows Full Moon events leading to greater stability.
Once Saturn gets into Aries next week - procrastination is going to get PAINFUL. Endings will come faster and beginnings will take longer. We can be faced over the next couple years, and we will get a preview of this over the next few months, with something that is harder than we expect it to be. The good news - this also means the results will be longer lasting. Once Saturn gets into Aries, we can't be in integrity/whole without action and intention and EMBODIMENT. Living in our heads with Saturn in Aries is not going to be living at all. Our authority/agency is going to come through ACTION.
And, so, with universal perfect timing the Scorpio Full Moon opposing Uranus, conjunct Juno and squaring Pallas comes in to break up our "fatigue/avoidance" through painful realizations that MUST BE FACED.
In the end, this Full Moon is LIBERATING as she pushes us toward something new.
22 degrees Scorpio and Taurus is ALL OVER the charts of Donald Trump, JD Vance (exact degree of his IC/roots), etc - ALL the major players in all the current dramas have planets/points active this week. Uranus is exactly conjunct Algol, no doubt someone or some situation is set to 'lose its head'.
When Mars met Algol last summer on the mid-heaven of Trump's chart, Trump was literally shot in the head. When Uranus meets Algol at this Full Moon, Mars will be exact on Trump's natal Pluto and his 8th house ruler, Neptune, will be in Aries answering to that Mars. A chart cast for Washington DC at the time of the Full Moon shows 26 Leo rising which is Trump's natal Mars! He was also born on a Full Moon, so they are very significant for him and Trump has a 22 degree Sun - kill or be killed. Transiting Jupiter - Trump was born with a natal exact Uranus/Jupiter trine and Jupiter rules the U.S. chart - is also moved past his Sun and is moving away from his Gemini placements. This lunation cycle - the next two weeks and even the next six months are a dangerous time for him. They also bring great opportunity for powerful successes. His 'shot in the head' is what we remember, but this was a big part of what propelled him back into the Whitehouse and history books. The Scorpio New Moon six months ago was the lunation cycle of the United States election.
Could peace break out? Yes. Could something with China/tariffs be worked out. Yes. I have said before as unlikely as it sounds - the chart when Trump announced his 'liberation day' was a chart with a high chance of success although there would be adjustments and things were not entirely realistic. Trump has a natal North Node/Uranus/Sun conjunction in his 10th house. He IS Uranus, so although this Moon is opposing him, I would expect a spotlight on him as Uranus catches up with the Sun this week.
On Tuesday, Saturn will meet Ceres at the final degree of Pisces - the end of the end.
(This is making me think of Russia and Ukraine because we have Juno with the Scorpio Full Moon ending and Ukraine has that exact Juno/Ascendent, so IS Juno - and we can see how Ukraine has played Juno to the United States Jupiter and it looks like transiting Pallas is right on their Moon/the people and we know Pluto is on their Saturn. Also, Zelensky is having his Jupiter return with Jupiter on his Ascendent and we have a Full Moon that speaks of "role" changes - he can take back his own Jupiter now/do this himself. Russia has the Ceres/Sun, so IS Ceres and Putin's natal Ceres is EXACT on Trump's natal Uranus! Maybe this war can end?!)
With Saturn/Ceres at 29 Pisces in a Scorpio Full Moon cycle - life is pulling out all the stops to close out a cycle before Saturn gets into Aries later this week. Saturn cannot be avoided, so there will be work to do to make this happen, responsibilities here, authority to answer to and step into. With the Sun squaring Pallas at the same time, maybe we have to step back from our ego and pride, maybe even let go of something we own/value (Taurus), see the patterns and BE SMART ABOUT THIS. With Pallas in Aquarius and answering to Uranus it will be the change, the new way forward, the difficult truth that sets us free.
