On Saturday, August 23rd, 2025 at 2:06AM EST the Virgo Moon catches up with the Virgo Sun at 0 degrees - the first degree of Virgo - giving us our annual New Moon in Virgo. This year we will have an UNUSUAL second New Moon in Virgo at 29 degree of Virgo - the last degree - on September 21st. the second New Moon is a Solar Eclipse and in between these two New Moons we will have a powerful Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Pisces.
This New Moon in Virgo is well-timed for back-to-school, back-to-work, back-to-ROUTINE, but don't expect everything to go as planned this year!
In general, a New Moon in Virgo says - focus on the details. How can we use our skills? How can we make something BETTER? Use commonsense. What must be fixed? Do one thing at a time. Do your best. Virgo is DISCERNING. Know that it won't be perfect. Nothing in nature is perfect. Know that perfect isn't the point and will just keep us stuck. The New Moon is inconjunct Saturn/Neptune and Pluto. Mercury rules Virgo and is at 12 degrees Leo (for the third time due to his/her retrograde). Mercury sextiles Mars - separating. Juno and Vesta are EXACT at 20 degrees Scorpio and trining the North Node in Pisces. Jupiter, at 16 degrees Cancer makes a Grand Water Trine with the Juno/Vesta/North Node. Venus is at 28 degrees Virgo, so tightly conjunct where the Moon will be next month for the second New Moon in Virgo.
The New Moon's square to Uranus speaks of New Moon events starting with a BANG. They come through a disruption/something unexpected. Virgo is our mutable Earth sign, so brings change and growth to tangible (nuts and bolt) things. Know that with the North Node in Pisces something here is in Gods'/Goddesses' hands and bigger and more impactful than we can see from our perch here on planet Earth. Know that whatever this is, this is happening for you and not to you. Information comes in and - collectively keep in mind this is about work and health and daily obligations - that shakes us up and creates CHANGE.

The bottom line with this DOUBLE SET OF VIRGO NEW MOONS - the New Moon at 0 degrees now and then that second New Moon at 29 degrees - we get a chance to change/start something that FIXES SOMETHING. This first one comes through some kind of UNEXPECTED information that is likely unwanted and then September starts, and we get the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces where we are releasing/letting go and by that third week in September we get that SECOND CHANCE New Moon, again, to FIX SOMETHING, again, via a FRESH START. This first chance with the square to Uranus looks uncomfortable, like there is something here we are forced to do maybe after we get some disruptive news. The second New Moon in a month - which is a Solar Eclipse, so works out of time and is so already happening - is opposing Saturn, so doesn't look like a picnic either. We have to try even knowing that second New Moon at the end of the month tells us whatever starts now is subject to change/delays and roadblocks.
Vesta is conjunct Juno EXACT, deep in Scorpio and trining the North Node. Relationships, partnerships contractual entanglements - the way we manage the power we get through other people and situations -can be a strong focus now/keeping us up at night. Something we feel needs to be kept burning and is part of this New Moon story.
