Over the last month or so a few people have asked me to look at the mid-term election charts, but whose chart to look at? The individual candidates' charts? The parties?
Our local representative up for re-election tomorrow has been in office since 1982 (!). Born with asteroid Nike (just do it/winning) on his North Node of Fate (I'm a bit jealous) and lots of mutual reception energy in his chart, so it functions better than it looks. He never does town halls. Never. Instead, he sends glossy flyers to our house a few times a year, or maybe it's just around election time, but just feels like a few times a year, I am not sure. The flyers are always about his Congressional exploits and travels and always with the same smiling picture of him that looks to be at least 30 years out of date, because, according to Wikipedia, he is 73 years old now.
He has lived in Virginia since 1983 although he represents New Jersey. So about 400 miles from his constituents. Safe. Maybe smarter than he looks now that I think about it. His main focus has been abortion (against, abortion is legal in New Jersey, so no success on this front for him after 44 years of talking about it), Lyme's disease and Israel. The district is drawn in such a way that he has never had a competitive opponent. I looked at his chart, since I know he will win again (and maybe we can glean something from his 'winning' transits) and see he has the upcoming Mars/Jupiter/South Node on his natal Pluto - which at 21 Leo is conjunct Trump/Vance's Ascendents (and Trump's Mars). That 21 Leo Pluto seems to have helped him - the number next to power (the 22) and then factor in that it's Pluto himself/power and the sign of Leo/royalty. Of course, the South Node (what needs release, what's been overdone) is here, too, so there's that, but that orb is a bit wider. He has Neptune doing a slow-mo trip over his natal Mercury in Aries, so I am sure he is not as fast thinking/speaking as he used to be and maybe even starting to lose the plot/his mental processes. Who knows. We can't really tell, because, again, never a town hall meeting. Transiting Venus is tight on his natal Saturn, so career assistance for him, no doubt, her retrograde and some strength in her home sign helping him do what he has done before - WIN ...
I've looked at the charts for the launch of the Democratic party and the Republican party and for the January 20th, 2025, Trump administration inauguration. They are all a mixed bag. Nothing clearly shows blow-out/wipe-out, but I haven't done any research to see how much the election results show up in the party natal charts.
Trump's natal and progressed charts actually get the most direct hits, and, so, just as everything else has been for the last decade, this one looks to be all about him, too, Let's take a look. His natal is pretty much seared into my brain, but I haven't looked at his progressed often, so we will take a brief peek at that one, too.
One thing I have been thinking about the mid-terms is that when Venus (who rules Trump's midheaven/career/reputation, his progressed chart's Libra mega-stellium and the United States Constitution chart and the 10th house midheaven of the U.S. Sibley) stations direct on November 13th at 22-degrees Libra (a power number) - she will be in an exact trine to Trump's 22-degree natal Gemini Sun and sextile to his Moon.
To me that looks like whatever the mid-term results there will be opportunity for him. There is also the fact that we have the next exact trine between Uranus and Pluto at the end of November and Trump IS playing Uranus here, so, there's that, too. Let's take a look. .
1. Venus's station DIRECT about a week after Election Day (along with Mercury so we are moving on from the Elections here/the retrograde energies) - Venus stations direct at 22-degrees Libra, creating an EXACT trine (smooth flow/brakes off) to Trump's natal Sun at 22-degrees Gemini, a sextile to his natal Moon at 21-degrees Sagittarius and a conjunction by sign and within five degrees of his natal Jupiter at 17-degrees Libra. He hardly looks wiped out here. Of course, Venus is a Morning Star/War Goddess now and 22-degrees Libra is tight on Israel's Ascendent and Netanyahu's Moon.
The Venus/Sun trine can describe an opportunity for greater ease in public relations, diplomacy, alliances and personal relationships. Venus brings questions of popularity, approval, social acceptance and the ability to attract support. The sextile to Trump's natal Moon brings in the public's emotional response, domestic matters and the relationship between his private world and public role. And Venus is stationing direct. This isn't just a passing Venus transit.
She is strong/still/changing direction, emphasizing the process of re-consideration that has been taking place throughout the retrograde.
This would suggest the launching of a period of re-negotiation, re-conciliation, re-newed alliances or an attempt to re-store relationships and public confidence. It is worth noting that Venus is transiting his second house - bringing financial matters, resources, values and questions of what is worth preserving into the symbolism.
Of course, a couple days after Election Day our retrograde Venus is going to square Trump's natal Saturn. REALITY CHECK.
2. Saturn squaring Trump's natal Mercury - MORE REALITY CHECK. Saturn is at 8-degrees Aries on Election Day and still retrograde, is in an EXACT square to Trump's natal Mercury at 8-degrees Cancer.
Mercury in Trump's natal chart is in the 11th house, which I would associate with political networks, supporters, alliances, organizations and collective interests. Saturn is transiting Trump's 8th house of ENDINGS/death. So, Saturn square Mercury can describe - an ending, a REALITY CHECK, difficult conversations and negotiations. Restrictions on communication. Serious questions requiring answers. Delays, procedural obstacles and administrative burdens. Having to confront the consequences of previous decisions and words. Since the Venus square to his Saturn a couple days after the election is repeating this energy - and we know when we see something multiple times in the astro we will surely be dealing with it - he can count on the REALITY CHECK and maybe even an ending.
Mercury in Cancer tends to operate from an emotionally protective position (it's also the reason Trump's voice/speech touches some people in a different way than a politician speaking from his head), and Saturn in Aries introduces the need to defend his position and take responsibility for decisions. Where Mars/Jupiter wants to move forward, Saturn/Mercury demands that things be examined, justified and accounted for. Exact on Election Day this looks like a big challenge for Trump/what he represents and the Moon represents 'the people' in a mundane chart.
Saturn is also in an EXACT sextile with his progressed Virgo Sun - opportunities if he is humble. Service-oriented. Focuses on details/practical matters. Both his natal and progressed charts are giving him some SECOND CHANCES, and, of course, although this election may be 'all about him' he isn't actually running. He will still be here.
OK on to the Mars/Jupiter.
3. This is the BIGGEST thing happening with Trump.
Trump is having his Mars return with Mars coming back to his natal position in Leo (where Mars is conjunct Trump's Ascendent/Apollo) and Mars is joined by Jupiter this time around and the South Node and Trump's Mars return is going to be a repeating aspect that started at the Eclipse at the end of last August and activates BIG time this week and really from now until the spring of 2027. If it wasn't for the South Node - and I guess what happens can be seen as a test of the South Node's strength - his Mars return with Jupiter would show an amplification of Trump's personal power or an opportunity to assert himself.
BUT on Election Day, we have three transiting factors converging on his natal Mars - transiting Mars at approximately 24-degrees Leo. Transiting Jupiter at approximately 25-degrees Leo. Transiting South Node at approximately 25-degrees Leo. And they're doing so in his 12th house, just behind his Leo Ascendant at 29-degrees Leo. That is a much more complicated picture.
The South Node is often associated with depletion, separation, relinquishment and the need to move away from patterns that have become overly familiar or overdeveloped. When it contacts Mars, it can suggest a diminishing of the usual ways of asserting ourselves.
Mars wants to act, fight, compete, defend and conquer. The South Node asks - what happens when your familiar means of asserting power no longer produces the expected results?
So we get something like - the exhaustion of an old strategy/approach, a loss of momentum or diminishing returns from aggressive action, having to relinquish control over a situation, confronting the consequences of previous actions, a conflict that reaches a point of culmination or separation or maybe the need to withdraw from a fight rather than continue escalating it.
But I wouldn't assume that the South Node automatically takes power away.
Sometimes it represents the release of something that has become excessive, yes, but sometimes it brings a FAMILIAR PATTERN BACK for one final reckoning. And we have all the retrograde energy that could be said to be repeating this.
Jupiter, friendly to Trump at his own election, adds more complication.
Jupiter normally expands, magnifies and gives meaning to whatever it touches. But when Jupiter joins the South Node, we have to consider the possibility that something associated with Jupiter is also reaching a point of diminishing returns (and the United States is a Jupiter ruled country).
Jupiter can represent confidence, authority, beliefs, influence, prosperity and the ability to inspire others. With the South Node involved, we might be looking at - overconfidence meeting its limits (there is going to be whole lot of humbling going on with a whole lot of people through this spring). An inflated sense of authority being challenged. A loss of support or influence. The consequences of previously held beliefs or convictions. A need to relinquish an established position or ambition. And happening to the President of the United States this would be impacting the U.S. as well through his chart.
And Jupiter represents the principles and beliefs that justify Mars's actions. The South Node may be asking whether those beliefs still serve their purpose. In other words, it isn't just the action that is being re-considered through Mars upcoming retrograde, but the justification for the action.
Of course, we should keep in mind that my guy here in NJ/the "shoe-in" also has this Jupiter/Mars/South Node activating his chart, so ...
4. The hidden 12th house. Trump's progressed 12th house of endings is JAM-PACKED. Standing room only. In his natal chart the Mars/Jupiter/South Node is happening in that house, too.
The 12th house has associations with hidden opponents and behind-the-scenes conflicts. Isolation and withdrawal. Institutions and confinement. Matters beyond our control. The consequences of actions that have not been fully acknowledged. Endings and the dissolving of established structures. Alot of old stuff is happening here that we don't remember and don't remember setting into motion, so ... there is really no way of clearly knowing what he has going on in there.
What else?
5. Oh yes, and maybe this is the BIGGEST one because with Trump everything is big or bigly or bigger than regular people's BIG. The Jupiter/Mars/South Node is squaring his mid-heaven which sits tight on fixed star Algol (third eye of Medusa connected to 'losing our head', but sometimes also major successes). His mid-heaven was activated big time in the summer of 2024 when Mars caught up with Uranus there and Trump was literally shot in the head and pretty much won the election on the spot. And now that I look back to that chart from July 13th, 2024, the Moon was at 21-degrees Libra so almost exactly where Venus will station direct! And Mars now is where Mercury was then and transiting Saturn conjunct the shooting chart's North Node of Fate.
The shooting chart without a doubt is a symbolic chart of a pivotal event in Trump's public and political story and now clearly this is saying the ELECTION NOW IS, TOO. Also, I am just realizing when Venus stations direct - she is almost exactly square the event chart's Sun at 21-degrees Cancer. So, the Venus station on 11/13 is activating the shooting chart's Sun/Moon square!
The event chart's Moon represents the emotional atmosphere and public response surrounding the event. Venus brings questions of popularity, public perception, values, relationships and the response of others. The station/change of direction - could symbolize a reconsideration of the meaning or public significance of the event, a revisiting of the emotional response it generated or a change in how the event is incorporated into the larger political story.
The election chart and Venus's station connections to that shooting - an injury that makes him stronger (?), a sideshow psyop/something that isn't quite what it seems (?), he wasn't taken out then/off with his head but might be now (?), a reversal of fortune (?) - who can tell what we are actually connecting to. Not me. It will almost surely be Trump's 8th house Pisces (his health most likely or something in that 12th house of his that we can't see, remember it was covid that took him out of office the first time) that finally takes him out. And then Vance with his mini-me Trump Jr. chart can step in and activate the Phaethon storyline he is fated/itching to.
So, what does all this say about the mid-terms? The polls open with a Void Moon (9-degrees Virgo which is right on Trump's progressed Sun) and two of our three inner planets are moving in reverse. To me it says it ain't over 'til it's over. I'd mark Election Day in pencil and November 13th (when Venus and Mercury station direct) in ink.
November 13th is a Friday BTW.
Friday the 13th (yes, cue Michael Myers and that scary-ass Halloween music or am I mixing up my horror movies).
The Election Day chart itself, tossed for Washington DC and the time the polls open, has a 1st house Sun conjunct our retrograde Mercury, so there is some kind of re-peating storyline. Highlighted information can be subject to mistakes and re-views. Venus is hiding out in the 12th house. The Mars/Jupiter/South Node is in the 10th house of that chart - a very fateful time for leaders (not just Trump, but especially Trump).
There is a lot of destiny and karma at play with the South Node and it is connected to past actions. Whatever happens Trump must change course. He won't be able to continue going the way he is going. The tide has turned. This is a REALITY CHECK for his career and reputation That certainly sounds like it indicates he has less congressional support/more Democrats. Being an uber powerful Gemini, Trump can change. And create change. And Venus's direct station at the middle of the month looks better for him ... and whatever this means for him personally (which will depend on what he is learning and what he does with what he learns), it can be symbolic of improvement for the country and the world. Of working together. Let's hope.
In my house we are torn between watching the election results tomorrow night (not likely), stocking the house with 30-90 days of food and supplies or putting up our Christmas decorations ...
