Another BIG week. Very BIG. Wait, VERY BIG :)

It's not really a collection of separate aspects although I am kind of going to have to unpack it this way. It is one unfolding story, with the 25-degrees Leo degree acting as the focal point, while the Scorpio New Moon and the two stations direct describe the process of moving from confrontation and reconsideration toward a new understanding of what comes next.

There are three particularly important threads pulling this story together.

1. The Scorpio New Moon - what has been exposed, and what can now begin?

2. The Leo South Node activations - revisiting the past, old patterns of power, recognition and identity.

3. Mercury and Venus stationing direct - what we've learned, what we've reconsidered/reviewed and what we're ready to do differently.

Let's unpack the week!

1. THE SCORPIO NEW MOON - this is a beginning that follows confrontation

The Moon's journey immediately before the New Moon is important here. In Scorpio over the last couple days (and remember this is all symbolic and can represent the last couple months, the last couple years, the last couple decades - you get the idea) Luna first squared Pluto, then met Mercury before finally coming together with the Sun at 16-degrees Scorpio.

The square to Pluto brings us face to face with something uncomfortable - power dynamics, control, fear, loss, buried material/something that can no longer be kept beneath the surface, death. It can be a confrontation with what has been happening behind the scenes or with the reality of a situation we would rather not have to acknowledge. This echoes the Venus/Mercury retrogrades and we know when we have repeats/echoes we have hit on something ACCURATE.

Then the Moon met Mercury. So, after the Plutonian confrontation - there is information to process, conversations to have, news to receive or something that finally gets put into words. Scorpio doesn't necessarily make these easy conversations, but it does ask us to look beneath the surface and get to the truth/the bottom of things. Scorpio also rules debts, third party situation, intimacies.

Only then do we arrive at the New Moon. Luna meets the Scorpio Sun at 16-degrees. This makes the lunation less like an uncomplicated fresh start and more like a new beginning that comes after something has been TESTED. We cannot begin again in quite the same way (and we do so at our own peril in Scorpio) because we know something now that we didn't know before.

2. Jupiter reaches the South Node in Leo. Mars follows and then the two planets come together at the same degree. The dates themselves might not mean very much.

(some of this may have already happened, remember that the planets/stars/points are reflecting us as much as we are reflecting them)

These are not isolated conjunctions. They are successive activations of the same point - 25-degrees Leo - and they bring the symbolism of Jupiter, Mars and the South Node together.

The South Node speaks of familiar patterns, established ways of behaving, old attachments and things we have perhaps outgrown but continue to return to. they are also things that have worked very well for us. In Leo, we might be looking at questions around identity, recognition, pride, creative authority, the need to be seen and the relationship between personal power (Leo) and collective needs (Aquarius).

Jupiter amplifies whatever he touches. His conjunction with the South Node can bring something from the past back into view, magnify an existing pattern or expose where an old belief system has become too comfortable. It can also bring a reckoning with something we have placed too much faith in.

Then Mars shows up.

Mars on the South Node can be more confrontational. It can bring action, anger, conflict, courage or a decisive response to something that has been building. Where Jupiter may reveal or magnify an old pattern, Mars can force us to do something about it.

Then Mars and Jupiter meet each other - and keep in mind this is all happening on the same degree. I would read this as a culmination of the entire sequence, so something that has been revisited, exposed or reactivated now has the potential to become an event, decision or significant expression of will.

There is also the North Node in Aquarius to consider that all this is OPPOSING. This is the other side of the axis/coin and it gives us a different direction to think about. If Leo is the individual, the creative self, the desire to shine and be recognized, Aquarius asks how we participate in something larger than ourselves. It asks us to move beyond the assumption that everything revolves around our own experience and consider the contribution we make to the collective.

This isn't about abandoning Leo. We need Leo and we need our egos! It is about finding a healthier relationship between individual expression and collective purpose. The question might be something like - are we expanding something because it genuinely serves our future or because we are attached to an old version of ourselves?

.

3. Mercury and Venus are direct - the reconsideration is over, so what have we learned?

Mercury is turning direct in Scorpio while Venus turns direct in Libra after her 40 day and 40 nights much of which was spent in Scorpio. These are two very different kinds of re-consideration.

Mercury retrograde in Scorpio has taken us back into conversations, information, suspicions, shared resources, emotional/financial/sexual entanglements, stuff that was hidden from us or we his from others/ourselves - things that may have been difficult to understand or talk about. His/her station at 5-degrees Scorpio says that we are beginning to find a way forward with something that has required deeper investigation.

But Mercury doesn't immediately move quickly. The station is a turning point, not an instant resolution. We may have more information now, but we still need to work out what it means/walk the degrees Mercury backtracked over ONE FINAL TIME..

Venus's retrograde has taken her/us from Scorpio into Libra, Venus's own sign. Her retrograde has taken us through questions of trust, intimacy, value, reciprocity and power, before bringing us back to the more fundamental Libra questions - is this fair? Is this balanced? Are both parties being considered? What are we giving, and what are we receiving?

Venus stationing direct at 22-degrees Libra - a power number that connects back to the very end of August and start of September - suggests that we are reaching a point where some of these questions can finally be answered, or at least where we are ready to make a decision.

And there is also the opportunity of Tuesday's Venus sextile Mars. This is a useful bridge between the two stations and the Leo activity. Venus and Mars are traditionally the two relationship planets, and their harmonious connection can help us find a way to reconcile what we want with what we are prepared to do to get it.

There is an opportunity to turn reconsideration into action, particularly around relationships, agreements, creative projects and personal values.

AND the Sabian Symbol for 25 Leo - the focal point of our week (we read 26 Leo/the applying degree) - is a RAINBOW. The symbol after the storm. HOPE and FAITH, folks :)

The Libra/Leo might be asking us - where have we been seeking recognition rather than genuine connection? Where have we been giving away too much of ourselves OR expecting others to accommodate us? Where have we confused being valued with being admired? You get the idea.

And going back to the New Moon that launches the week.

Let's keep in mind the NEW MOON'S CLOSING ASPECTS - I think this is one of the most useful observations for understanding the New Moon cycle we are entering.

We have already looked at the Moon's pre-New Moon sequence - she squares Pluto, meets Mercury and then the Sun. But what happens after the conjunction is equally important.

As the Moon moves through Scorpio, she eventually squares Mars and then Jupiter in Leo, with the square to Jupiter being her final major aspect before leaving Scorpio. Closing aspects show us where we end up if we just follow the pattern.

Before the New Moon - the Moon squares Pluto. Something about power, control, fear or the need for transformation comes into view. Then the Moon meets Mercury. Information emerges, conversations happen, or something becomes clearer. Then we have the New Moon as Luna catches up with the Sun (who remember rules Leo!).  A new cycle begins AND it is one informed by what has just been uncovered.

After the New Moon - the Moon squares Mars and Jupiter in Leo. What we have discovered now has to be confronted in relation to our actions, beliefs, ambitions and expectations. The closing square to Jupiter is probably very important because Jupiter is simultaneously approaching his own conjunction with the South Node.

And the Jupiter/South Node conjunction now connects to February 2027 and again to April 2027. Old dreams can come true with these transits, too!

Maybe the things we are beginning under this Scorpio New Moon will require us to confront an old belief, an old ambition or an established pattern of behavior - the results over time can be a very good thing. The Scorpio process of uncovering the truth meets the Leo tendency to defend what we already believe about ourselves.

We might discover that something we thought we wanted isn't quite what we want anymore. Or that an old ambition, relationship dynamic or source of validation has become too limiting. Alternatively, something we have been reluctant to acknowledge may demand a much more decisive response. The square to Jupiter as the closing aspect suggests that the consequences of what we uncover may be bigger than we initially realize. Jupiter/South Node can also bring very old goodies that we should have received and maybe didn't BACK into our energy field.

Are we trying to preserve something because it is familiar, because it makes us feel important or because it genuinely has a place in the future we are building? The South Node isn't necessarily something bad that must be discarded. It can represent gifts, talents and experiences that have brought us to where we are. But it can also represent the comfort of remaining within a familiar identity as the world shifts and changes.

The North Node in Aquarius asks us to consider what happens when we stop making the 'familiar self' the center of every decision. And with Mars and Jupiter meeting at the South Node, there could be quite a lot of energy invested in defending, expanding or acting on something from the past before we recognize what needs to change.

What do we do with the information we have now? Do we react/defend our position and repeat the old arguments or do we use what has been revealed to make different choices? Scorpio/Leo. Scorpio uncovers what is really going on. Leo decides what to do with that knowledge, but can also become very attached to its own version of the story. And Luna's closing square to Jupiter makes me wonder whether the next couple of weeks will reveal just how much is at stake with that tension/choice.

We can see how everything here is playing out in the United States and the world that will all be in my New Moon post next.

This is right on time.

For all of us.
