Weekly Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of May 10th - May 16th, 2021 - important information & conversations about our future, uncomfortable action in a new direction, healing generational wounds, New Moon, something firms up, requires some give and take

This is a BIG week with alot going on.

Pay attention to news/information/conversations that point you in a new direction or might open a new door (this might have already happened, but is exact on Monday). We will be dealing with some very old wounds this week - let's not be careless with ourselves or other people now - we are all dealing with generations and generations of procrastinated rubbish.

There's a powerful New Moon (we talked about her HERE) and the Sun will sextile Neptune (opportunity) at the same time Jupiter comes home to Pisces (expect a BIG post).

What a week!

Mercury and Mars are big players this week. They are personal planets, so this is playing out in our personal lives as well as the collective. Mercury meets the North Node - the information/conversation comes in that leans us toward the future, PAY ATTENTION, also there is something healing here, maybe around our ability to take care of ourselves/be ourselves. Next Mars (as us), maybe based on the information, conversation, idea, needs to take uncomfortable action that is future focused/liberating/maybe around a values/resources/financial situation. Then Mercury trines Saturn, so news comes in/or maybe a conversation with authority firms things up or limits our choices in a way that is a stabilizing/focusing thing. Finally, Mars inconjuncts Saturn, so some kind of give-and-take/rock and hard place with whatever this 'new' is. Something will play out kind of like this, but whether it is an important something or not so much for you, will depend on your natal and progressed charts' relationships to these aspects.

Know I am writing about aspects when they are most exact - you might feel them strongest as they are applying (earlier) or even waning (a bit later) depending on how they are interacting with your chart!

MONDAY - MERCURY CONJUNCTS NORTH NODE | Gemini, 10 degrees | MERCURY SEXTILES CHIRON | Gemini/Aries, 10 degrees

Mercury, at 10 degrees meets up with the North Node of Fate. With Mercury, strong and stable in his/her home sign, conjunct the North Node information could come in/a comversation happens that points us in a new direction (or confirms our course). Maybe it draws our attention to something we need to follow-up on. PAY ATTENTION. Be out and about. Talk/keep things light. There could be more than one idea/more than one offer/more than one way forward here. Note in two days Mercury is going to meet up with Saturn in a smooth aspect, so this might be when something firms up or a conversation with authority happens. This could also be when today's choices get limited (the limiting will be a good thing). At the same time, Mercury is sextiling Chiron, so this will all likely be part of the same thing - news/information/conversations/words (this can also be about a local community, sibling, transportation or tech issue) are healing very old wounds. We can feel better about our vulnerabilities.

TUESDAY - MARS SQUARES CHIRON | Cancer/Aries, 11 degrees | MARS SEXTILES URANUS | Cancer/Taurus, 11 degrees | NEW MOON IN TAURUS, 21 degrees

This is the day of our big NEW MOON - the post is HERE. This is also the day, and this is, of course, part of the New Moon's story - Mars in Cancer squares Chiron at 11 degrees Aries at the same time sextiling Uranus at 11 degrees Taurus.

So, maybe here is where, although quite uncomfortable for us with Mars in sensitive Cancer, we need to stand up for ourselves/be ourselves/do it ourselves in order to break free of constraints/fixed situations or in order to create new financial opportunities for ourselves/our family. Happening at the time of a powerful New Moon in stabilizing Taurus conjunct independent Black Moon Lilith will help, but can also activate feelings of being like an outcast/not fitting in. This might be about the need for us to take new/uncomfortable action about the news/conversation/information from yesterday.

Mars/Chiron here can also energize old anger, and with Mars in Cancer, it might come out in passive-aggressive or unhealthy ways. Notice when you are triggered - feelings are out of proportion to the situation - know this is activating an old story (likely maternal) that you may or may not remember, but are still carrying. Emotional wounds are ONLY incomplete cycles of experience. Nothing more. Nothing less. If something, again that is out of proportion to the situation at hand, is producing anxiety know this thing you are actually fearing HAS ALREADY HAPPENED. Take care of yourself. Take new or liberating action. Breathe.

WEDNESDAY - MERCURY TRINES SATURN | Gemini/Aquarius, 13 degrees

Mercury at 13 degrees Gemini  - yes, at 13 degrees already, he's in his home signs and he's flying! He will station retrograde here later in the month and we get to do this Merc/Gemini thing all over again (this will be our only pass over 13 degrees though) - trines Saturn at 13 degrees Aquarius. Here are quick and smart conversations/words/ideas in smooth flow with authority/the future. Mercury in Gemini can have us all over the place, but here is a nice trine to settle us down/maybe limit our choices in a way that makes things easier. This can also be some kind of official confirmation of what Mercury/North Node earlier in the week brought to our attention.

THURSDAY - SUN SEXTILES NEPTUNE | Taurus/Pisces, 22 degrees| JUPITER INTO PISCES!!!

The Sun sextiles Neptune on the day Jupiter moves into Neptune ruled Pisces. The Sun sextile Neptune shines a light on a dream/ancestral story-line (likely through father's lineage). Our intuition is strong. Fixed earth and mutable water =  making the dream real. Neptune in Pisces has been showing us how we numb out, escape, dream our life away, avoid reality. Also how to create through our imagination, love without boundaries, connect with others, connect with our ancestors/higher power/God. Neptune in connection with earthy Taurus brings repressed/ancestral emotions into our consciousness/into our physical bodies and lives. The Sun sextile Neptune as Jupiter starts his journey through Pisces is a good thing - good for manifesting a dream/something that requires us to unlimit our thinking using a practical/solid process.

Expansive/hopeful Jupiter, finally getting out from under the thumb (at least temporarily) of serious-as-a-heart-attack Saturn, moves (until mid-summer) into Pisces - his ancient rulership where he, too, is very strong - for a preview of next year's journey. Expect a BIG post!

FRIDAY - MARS INCONJUNCTS SATURN | Cancer/Aquarius, 13 degrees

Mars, at 13 degrees Cancer, inconjuncts Saturn at 13 degrees Aquarius. Here is where our individual efforts, maybe centered on home/family/renovation/home or family business/mom/mothering are at odds with the group/the rules/the future. This is a rock and hard place. Pushing just ensures we hit a brick wall. Adjustments are needed. Re-calibrate. This can also be something about Cancer's tendency toward possessiveness coming up against Aqua's detachment/need for freedom. Cancer, may be emotional, but the mama-bear energy is also able to make hard choices/tough decisions which can bring out the intelligence/logic of Aquarius (maybe one way to make this work?).

the astrology of the New Moon in Taurus | May 11th, 2021 - building the new earth

On Tuesday, May 11th, 2021 at 2:59PM EDT, the Taurus Moon meets the Taurus Sun at 21 degrees giving us this month's New Moon - our annual New Moon in Taurus.

As with all New Moons, the skies are dark. It is the time of beginning. The seed goes into the ground. The sperm goes into the egg. The idea goes onto the paper. The nail into the wood. And specifically this is a Taurus New Moon, so collectively about a fresh start with our values, our self-esteem, our finances, our resources, our earned income.

Taurus likes comfort and ease and stopping to smell the roses. But this energy isn't about being lazy. This is about our ability to savor. And to put down roots. The New Moon in Taurus always makes me think about stewardship - the responsible care we take of ourselves, our families, our businesses, our planet.

Let's unpack the chart!

The Moon is conjunct the Sun at 21 degrees Taurus. This trines the 'time ran out' mega-planetary merger back in January 2020. She is sextiling Neptune (in Pisces) and trining Pluto (in Capricorn). She squares the midpoint of Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius. She inconjuncts Juno (in Sagittarius) EXACT. She sextiles Pallas (in Pisces) and conjuncts Black Moon Lilith. The ruler of this lunation is Venus. She is at 3 degrees Gemini answering to Mercury (also in Gemini and conjunct the North Node). Mars is sextile Uranus EXACT.

The Moon/Sun are trining Pluto - brakes off - this is about inhaling authority, making adult decisions - being EMPOWERED, knowing our own value because we are talking about a trine to Taurus, and not being afraid of empowering others (understanding this doesn't really cost us anything, there is no dearth of abundance on this planet) and this all just happening rather effortlessly as we step into our own shoes/boots- covered in top soil as they are. With Pluto retrograde, this speaks of past inheritances/resources owed. Old mergers and intimacies. "Re"production. Pluto rules what we do in the dark and what we've been encouraged, through culture, to keep hidden. With Pluto in our Cappy house of career/goals/achievement, this New Moon is good for solid, long-term growth here from anything started over the next two weeks.

The Sun and Moon are sextiling Neptune. This is applying - the Moon moves into her exact sextile within hours, the Sun on Thursday which is also the day Jupiter moves into Pisces and starts answering to Neptune! Fixed earth and mutable water. Making the dream real. Neptune in Pisces has been showing us - for years - how we numb out, escape, dream our life away, avoid reality. Also how to create through our imagination, love without boundaries, connect with others, connect with our ancestors/higher power/God. Neptune in connection with earthy Taurus brings repressed/ancestral emotions into our consciousness/into our physical bodies and lives. Neptune rules our collective 12th house of 'what is behind us'. We are formed from everything/everyone that has come before us, but from our perch in the first house, we can't see behind us. But we can feel/sense what is back there. So now, the stuff back there is touching our physical life. Mystical experiences are possible. The sextile is an opportunity to either ground the past in the present or release the past through the present. There is healing here - opportunities through our creativity/art/music/spirit. Taurus/Pisces also speaks about security/comfort through escape/relaxation.

There is something at this New Moon, contacting both a retrograde Pluto and Neptune in his home sign, about the re-owning/re-claiming of our old ancestral stories. And other storylines that have outgrown their usefulness will come to our attention eager for release.

The New Moon is squaring the Aqua midpoint between Saturn and Jupiter. Our responsibilities to the group/the future. Some tension/frustration with limits/rules/authority built into this new beginning or maybe the new beginning flows from these challenges. The square to Saturn is waning and the square to Jupiter not culminating until the Moon (and then Sun) get into Gemini with Jupiter in Pisces - so the fixed nature of this square will become more mutable/changeable - there will be more options later than we can see from under these dark skies.

The ruler of this lunation is Venus in Gemini - answering to Mercury in Gemini conjunct the North Node. Venus in Gemini is about sharing our ideas/thoughts. What we need/love/want is flexible/kept light because it is subject to change. The theme of duality is emphasized with Venus here - more than one way to value ourselves, own things, make/have money. Maybe more than one seed goes into the ground now. Multiple things may be starting.

With Mercury conjunct the North Node of Fate (exact on MONDAY) information could come in/a conversation happens - that points us in a new direction, confirms our course or draws our focus to something we need to follow up with. PAY ATTENTION. Be out and about. Talk/keep things light. There could be more than one way forward here.

The Moon/Sun inconjuncts Juno. This is exact, so worth paying attention to. Juno is about our relationships/contracts (also the way we look the other way to preserve the status quo or our own status). After being a major player this past year as our relationships/partnerships bucked and swayed, she is in Sag now offering us more hope/optimism/greener pastures. Today, she is in a rock and a hard place with the New Moon. This is Sag vs Taurus. Sag energy is more easy come/easy go, able to take risks, money/resources want to circulate. Taurus is more cautious/holds down the fort, more about security and personal comfort, money/resources want to accumulate. So, some kind of give and take is needed here. Nobody really wins, but if handled correctly no one has to feel like they are totally losing either. Responsibility is actually a necessary partner to freedom. Adjust.

The Moon's sextile to Pallas in Pisces speaks of smart decisions/choices made with our intuition/through ethereal connection/help from our ancestors/guides. This is separating so likely this decision has already been made/news already been dealt with. The Moon/Sun is conjunct Black Moon Lilith. This one is applying, so still to come. This is in Taurus, the lush garden from which BML was unceremoniously tossed. Something about us that has been abandoned/kicked out/called unacceptable is allowed/required to take root here, too. We can't grow whatever it is we are planting any other way than our own.

Mars is exactly sextiling Uranus and the New Moon is just past her own conjunction to Uranus - so maybe something unexpected/sudden has come out. Possibly the day before the New Moon or maybe sometime quite a bit earlier depending on our relationship with Uranian energy. Now, at the New Moon, with Mars sextiling, here is an OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE ACTION ON SOMETHING NEW. Mars is in home/family/security focused Cancer, so something about this could be driving our actions/decisions now. The New Moon in Taurus happening at the same time will give whatever this is more stability and staying power.

Keep in mind everything is happening with Jupiter at the 29th degree of Aquarius, so something has been thought about/analyzed/detached from ENOUGH. Tired of facts and figures and logic, he (as we) will be in Pisces - his ancient kingdom - in just a couple days and can feel the pull of those warm, soothing, emotional waters. Also keep in mind, this New Moon ushers us into Eclipse season, culminating as it does in two weeks with the first Eclipse of 2021 - the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse - a total - in Sagittarius. So, here is kind of our last solid ground for a while. This isn't a good thing or a bad thing. It just is what it is. Some practical steps need to be taken.

As for the Moon herself, if we simply follow her story through Taurus we get a good overview of the New Moon story.

The Moon sextiles Mars - our new storyline with its roots in home/family/mothering. She meets up with Uranus - here is the surprise/unexpected. So, yes, maybe what we thought was stable won't be quite so stable - but keep in mind - what we thought was impossible will not be quite so impossible either. This could indicate a heightened concern or attention to finances/resources/income or we might feel this as a desire to break free of constraints/fixed situations. The Moon squares Saturn - here is the tension/frustration with limits/group dynamics or responsibilities/authority. She meets the Sun - the new story officially begins, the seed goes into the ground. She inconjuncts Juno - the partnership/contract - the rock and a hard place, the circulation vs the accumulation, an adjustment. She sextiles Neptune - mystical experiences/ancestral timelines pulled into our physical life, the dream meets the practical tools to make it work. The Moon trines a retrograde Pluto - old karma/inheritances, merged finances and physical mergers - this is smooth energy, earthy, practical, no pushing will be necessary, empowerment through KNOWING OUR WORTH. Her final aspect a bigger-is-better/over-the-top square to Jupiter at the very, very edge of Aquarius (about to move into something less logical/detached and more emotionally connective). So, could the challenge presented by the Uranus "surprise", the Saturnian reality check and Juno's partnership/contract snafu be an OPPORTUNITY in disguise?! That's what it looks like!

And, keep in mind, Venus in dualistic Gemini (ruler of the Moon) - more than one answer/way forward, information that points us in a new direction, following up on leads, talking, listening, keeping things light, staying flexible and able to CHANGE OUR MIND.

This Moon looks like a keeper to me.

This is the way we are building the New Earth, folks - one Moon, one month at a time.

NEW MOON INTENTIONS

This new moon in Taurus is an excellent time to begin a grounding practice, make affirmations and set intentions about Taurean ruled themes (especially the theme of your natal Taurus house): love, money, contentment with what we already have, patience, self-worth, releasing stubbornness, health issues regarding our neck, throat and voice in the world.

AFFIRMATION TIPS: get into a happy, contented frame of mind - HUG A TREE (she needs you, too!) - always make affirmations from a positive place, and both definitions of positive apply here - happy and certain. Write your affirmations down by hand in script, speak them out loud - then release your attention from these things knowing that your intention is known.

Know these things are already yours.

Also remember affirmations are action -  they set the energy in motion and by working with the right things at the time of the New Moon we are literally creating the affirmation within the energy that is needed to bring our words to life.

Words are not just words and now we have Venus - ruler of the New Moon - in Gemini and answering to Mercury - the God of language whispering into the ears of the North Node of Fate, this makes our words even more powerful.

If done properly, in the right frame of mind and heart-felt, our intentions line us up energetically with the thing we are seeking.

In Taurus, the stuff we start now will stabilize us and pay off for us later.

Today's Astrology forecast | Wednesday, May 5th, 2021 - relationship/contract releases and re-alignments, repressed emotions come up, growing/going on faith

The Moon continues her journey through imaginative/healing Pisces. She squared Mercury at 1:54AM EDT, trines Mars at 12:07PM EDT and sextiles Uranus at 6:56PM EDT. That Mars trine is good for promoting/taking action on a creative project or doing something creative/inspiring with family or to our home. Good for meditation/making art at home. Tonight's sextile with Uranus speaks of opportunities through something different/unpredictable, spirituality/creativity merging with tech/groups.

The Moon in Pisces sextiling Uranus is the merger of our emotions (sometimes old trapped emotions) and our higher level mind - we might be ready for this and we might not. We have alot of Pisces/Neptune right now and can feel ungrounded - if that's happening, we can reach for the Taurus - hands in the dirt/practicality/scrub the floors. Have a good cry. Go to sleep.

This is also the day Juno retrograde squares Neptune in Pisces (22 degrees and yes, more, Pisces) - this is the second of three repeating aspects. We got the first square back on March 4th and the final square will be on October 17th.

This is a releasing/letting go aspect - this middle hit, the one with the retrograde Juno (partnerships/agreements) is where we are doing the internal work/the review/re-do/renovation of the situation. Neptune contacts can bring repressed emotions (even past-life/familial DNA) back into our consciousness. Our boundaries thin and we are open to connecting to these very old streams. The square to relationship/contract/commitment focused Juno might bring our attention to areas where one partner is more hopeful than the other or beliefs are out of sync. Maybe one partner is escaping/numbing out - generally avoiding. Some contracts/relationship agreements can be dissolving and this square is part of that process. Both Pisces and Sag can be too much and pull things out of alignment. What needs to be reviewed/reworked here?

This is a mutable square, so adjustments/change is needed.

Looking for a better aspect to see our way through this square, we have Jupiter sextiling Ceres.

Jupiter rules Sagittarius so Juno is answering to him (yes, her philandering hubby in Aquarius). Ceres is in Aries, so a focus on SOMETHING NEW WE ARE NURTURING can help. The Juno square is a long story and with Juno retrograde there isn't any quick fix. Just work the process. If this is a romantic partnership - nurturing something new together - a new plan/project, might be helpful. Ceres in Aries is about a new season of life, so the Jupiter sextile is expanding something here - we can see/connect with - the greener grass over there. This is Aries/Aquarius so this is an independent/nonconforming connection.

Life/love/independence/the wee beginning grows through faith/hope/enthusiasm.

Today's Astrology Forecast | TUESDAY, May 4th, 2021 - liberation vs stability, the meaning of progress, optimistic or restless we drift into the night

The Moon is in Aquarius now - we are nourished through our intellect, through tech, structured logic, astrology, science, groups, friendships. She squares Venus at 11:49AM EDT and goes void off her conjunction with Jupiter at 8:05PM EDT. She is void until 10:08PM EDT when she drifts into Pisces.

The Moon's square to Venus can trigger a disconnect between what we have/our resources/finances and our future. Freedom vs stability. The square is tension/frustration, but also an active aspect that creates CHANGE.

(we are cutting down 2 trees today - the one tree is dead, the other dying/maybe dangerous, but alive and it hurts me to do this. They are coming down to make room for a garage that hubs and I are divided over anyway - the literal manifestation of Taurus vs Aquarius - something alive/fixed vs making way for the future, a woman blocking 'progress')

As the Moon moves toward Jupiter, we should feel greater optimism/expansion or maybe our discontent with what is now just increases. We might feel restless/not wanting to conform. Focus on the positives here with whatever is happening - something is GROWING. With the Moon void, the expansion isn't focused on goals/achievement, so can feel good without the pressure if we allow ourselves to feel this.

(we might get a little preview of Jupiter into Pisces today/maybe a vision of the future)

Once the Moon gets into Pisces we relax/let go. Discontent over resources ease. Aqua problems are less pressing. Let yourself flow into what comes next without forcing the issue. We can just feel without analyzing something to death. Listen to/make music. Meditate. Pray. Paint. Talk to ghosts.
