the astrology of the full moon in gemini | December 4th, 2025 | part I - the old story breaks, the new story begins as all four corners of life shift at once, we cannot avoid the crossroads, we cannot keep all versions of ourselves, a karmic skipped step pushes us forward

On Thursday, December 4th, 2025, at 6:14PM EST, the Gemini Moon opposes the Sagittarius Sun at 13 degrees, giving us this month's Full Moon - our annual Full Moon in Gemini.

The Full Moon is EXACTLY squaring the Node of Fate. This is a powerful cosmic crossroads. It is much like an ECLIPSE (the crossroads energy made me go looking for Hekate, the Goddess of the crossroads and I found her at 21 degrees Sagittarius EXACTLY conjunct Juno and tightly conjunct Mars!).

The Full Moon shows us what we are holding onto/where we are/what is reaching its peak/what is finishing up. In Gemini this is about communication and learning, opinions and options. Our siblings and local community. Stuff that is moving. Stuff that changes.

Gemini is the sign of duality (and how, yes, two things can be true/right at the same time) - think of its symbol of 'the twins' - we often find we have more than one thing FINISHING UP at the time of a Gemini Full Moon.

There will also be more than one way forward - Gemini holds the space of the crossroads. And, of course, this year the Gemini Full Moon is an ACTUAL CROSSROADS!

Let's dive right in and unpack the chart!

The Moon opposes the Sag Sun from 13 degrees Gemini. The Full Moon squares the North Node in Pisces and the South Node in Virgo EXACT. The Moon trines Pallas in Aquarius (applying). The Gemini Full Moon is ruled by Mercury, who is making his/her third pass over the powerful 22nd degree of Scorpio. Mercury has stepped into the ongoing water trine between Saturn and Jupiter turning it into a Grand Water Trine. In Scorpio, Mercury is answering to Mars - at 22 degrees Sagittarius and tightly conjunct the Juno/Hekate EXACT conjunction and in an exact inconjunct to Mercury. The Sun is tightly conjunct the Great Attractor - magnetic force that does something like spin time so the past can feel like the future and the future can feel like the past.

Life ain't playing folks.

The Gemini Moon opposes the Sagittarius Sun and squares the Nodes of Fate creating a Mutable Grand Cross. This is a pressurized configuration where we are being pulled in four directions at once. Since it is the nature of mutable signs to change/adapt/be FLEXIBLE - it's like we are an actor on the stage in a live show, and the script is changing while we are performing. Life is fluid/unstable/transitional. Our mind, our body, our emotions probably can't keep up with what is moving.

So, probably instead of us trying to change the story, we are going to find out what happens if we let the story change us.

We have just a few more months with the North Node/the future in Pisces and the South Node/the over-done past in Virgo. Virgo is a lot about our HABITS. Collectively, we have been/are being asked to release our need for everything to be figured out and organized. Over-thinking (to be replaced by a growing need to trust something larger or something unseen but FELT). Over-functioning (to be replaced by a growing need to let go/soften). Being overly critical/controlling (to be replaced by a need for greater compassion/connection, and again, trust).

A story we have been running is being asked to dissolve, so a new direction CAN OPEN.

The Moon's smooth trine to Pallas in Aquarius is our saving grace at this Full Moon. Pallas is excellently placed in Aquarius - I think she should be, at least, the co-ruler! Pallas in Aquarius pulls in strategic intelligence, pattern recognition/problem solving from a HIGH and detached vantage point. She says that we CAN CONNECT THE DOTS and see the long-term arc of whatever is happening

Zooming out resolves what over-thinking complicates. The truth isn't chaotic - it is actually patterned.

Mercury, the ruler of this lunation has just passed over Hekate and Juno and is making his/her THIRD PASS over the powerful 22nd degree of Scorpio. Maybe the most powerful degree of the most powerful sign. This placement puts Mercury in a trine to Saturn in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer and creates a Grand Water Trine. This isn't exact at the Full Moon, but it doesn't need to be.

Mercury's trine to Saturn brings emotional maturity. Makes visions, dreams, intuitions REAL (if they can be). This allows us - third time's the charm here - to make sense of what is happening/what is being said/what we are thinking about. Mercury's trine to Jupiter brings, retrograde in Cancer, brings a kind of DEEP REMEMBERING. Ancestral/past life/family storylines are being cleared up. Maybe our thinking is changing here because an emotional truth is emerging.

The last New Moon was in Scorpio and all about - the truth coming out. Now we have the Full Moon in Gemini which is all about - lies/untruths being put to bed. Most years we get these lunations playing out just like this at this time of year. And they sound like the same thing, and they are and they aren't.

What is likely to happen here is an intuition or something buried/unspoken is SPOKEN/spelled out/written and what was confusing becomes obvious.

Mercury in Scorpio is answering to Mars in Sagittarius and they sit - although no one is sitting - at an EXACT inconjunct and Mars is #sitting/#notsitting with the EXACT conjunction of Hekate/Juno, who are, of course inconjunct Mercury, too.

This springs into my head the words - underworld contract activation, so there I will write it :) in bold :)

The inconjunct between Mercury and Mars says that - what we know and what we are driven to act on/do are not in alignment. So, maybe this looks like an uncomfortable truth or an unavoidable decision or a vow/promise that needs to be re-examined or what we are loyal to or who/what is loyal to us is questioned. A CROSSROADS IS HERE WHETHER WE WANT IT OR NOT. It is very old/ancestral/even MYTHIC. Questions unlock doors that have been locked for years, maybe centuries, maybe lifetimes. Truths we didn't know we knew spill through ....

Hekate says, "do not fear the path that wants you. Fear only the one you no longer belong to."

Mars/Juno/Hekate is (Juno) a relationship/relationship contract, (Hekate) a crossroad and (Mars in Sag) a MOMENT OF HONESTY WITH CONSEQUENCE. All converge. So, this isn't just about the conversation/information/what comes to light at the Full Moon - the Grand Cross makes this a kind of hinge bridging the before with the after. This is not because the conversation was dramatic necessarily, ALTHOUGH IT MIGHT BE, but it's because the relationship was finally aligned with truth.

This Full Moon may not bring peace, but it may create the conditions that, in hindsight, made peace possible.

My family Thanksgiving dinner which will go down in family history as the Turkey Brawl of 2025 dramatizes this Full Moon in Gemini rather nicely and we will talk about that in Part II.
