Weekly Astrology Forecast for Creatives | May 3, 2021 to May 9, 2021 - the conversation changes, a reality check, what we want intensifies, recognition and ka-ching for old work, flexible is the new black

OK, let's take a look at the week ahead - we'll fill in the Moons with some dailies - and then at the end of this post we'll take a quick look ahead at the rest of May!

Monthly post will be out this week plus back to the royals!

MONDAY - MERCURY SQUARES JUPITER | Taurus/Aquarius, 28 degrees | SUN SQUARES SATURN | Taurus/Aquarius, 28 degrees | MERCURY INTO GEMINI

Mercury in resource-focused Taurus squares Jupiter in Aquarius. Keep in mind, Mercury trined Pluto yesterday. So we get the intensity/transformational words/conversations - the trine - followed by the optimism/enthusiasm/bigger-is-better of the Jupiter square. Just keep in mind Jupiter's gaseous structure - some words/ideas could be exaggerated, not everything will pan out. Don't over-promise.

This is Taurus which rules our money, so keep an eye on your wallet.

This is also the day the Sun squares Saturn - again Taurus/Aquarius at 28 degrees. Limits. Restrictions. Authority. Responsibility. Sometimes a hard "no". The Sun is going to trine Pluto next week, so don't give up, but don't bang your head against the wall either because the wall ain't going anywhere. We'll need patience. This is basically a reality check. Situations conspire to make us aware of the rules, the effects of time, our responsibilities, restrictions.

Note these aspects may have played out on Friday or over the weekend as they were applying.

Mercury (communication, ideas, local life and travel, transportation, sibling issues) moves into his/her home sign of Gemini. We will feel a difference in the days ahead as information and communications switch from turtle pace to rabbit. Increased choices, conversations and ideas will start to flow. We can CHANGE OUR MIND, SO CAN EVERYONE ELSE. We won't put everything to use, Gemini can be rather chatty, so some stuff will just move in and out, but the change in momentum will be noticeable. Keep in mind with Gemini there are more questions than answers and the information might be sometimes too quick and unreliable. But easy, adaptable conversations, suitable for the moment, can pull everything forward now.

With his/her upcoming retrograde Mercury will be in Gemini until July 11th. He/she is going to start walking shadow degrees (the degrees we will cover three times - back and forth) on May 14th, so if there are things you can finish up before then, try to get them finished up. After that, especially with Mercury in his home sign of Gemini, technical/paperwork/communication/transportation whatever we have going on will be subject to this back and forth kind of REVIEW, it won't be a one and done. Mercury will be retrograde from May 29th through June 22nd.

THURSDAY - VENUS TRINES PLUTO RETROGRADE | Taurus/Capricorn, 28 degrees | NORTH NODE SEXTILES CHIRON | Gemini/Aries, 11 degrees

This is the best day of the week - we also have the Pisces Moon sextiling the Sun in Taurus for some extra magic. Making the dream real.

Venus in Taurus trines a retrograde Pluto in Capricorn. We are attracting power/attractive to power. This speaks of recognition/money for old work. Inheritances. Financial empowerment. Professional green lights. This aspect can intensify what we want, YES, WE WANT THIS. Keep in mind, Venus is in Taurus, so this is about greater comfort/security. We are empowered by our values/what we have/what we earn. Good for dealings with authority figures. Keep in mind Taurus/Cappy practicality.

At the same time the North Node moves into an opportunistic sextile with Chiron, the South Node a smooth trine. This is Gemini/Aries. Old beliefs about not having what it takes to be ourselves/stand up for ourselves/take care of ourselves are being released, replaced by new words/conversations/ideas that move us onto our new path. Words are healing. Changing our mind is healing. Seeing another way forward is healing. This also speaks of a way forward through our vulnerabilities/wounds - not hiding them.

SATURDAY - VENUS SQUARES JUPITER | Taurus/Aquarius, 29 degrees | CERES INTO TAURUS | VENUS INTO GEMINI

Now, Venus is doing what Mercury was doing on Monday. These are our two beneficial planets, so even the square can only be so bad/only be a problem if we take something too far. Or if we have something serious going on that we are not taking seriously. With Venus in Taurus - don't overspend.  Purchases could disappoint us later. For the most part though, this is happiness/optimism. Enjoy it.

Now beneficial Venus moves into Gemini - Gemini Suns and rising signs get more attractive - both easier on the eye and able to attract what they want and need. Our natal and progressed Gemini house themes get more attractive, too. We are most attractive (use our Venus, think magnetic here) through Gemini (our mind, being flexible). It's a good time (through June 2rd) to be talking and communicating with lots of different people about lots of different things. Venus in Gemini is about variety. In the mutable air sign (Gemini) the themes Venus rules - love, money, our values, our resources, self-esteem, women, beauty - get more light-hearted. There are quickly more options available. There is also more duality - this is the space where our heart is saying one thing and our brain is saying something else.

We could suddenly recognize a mismatch between what we have and what we want. Or what we thought we had (during Venus in resource-rich Taurus) could be up for grabs a bit. With Venus in Gemini life becomes more of a flirtation. Communications are more casual, more lively and humorous. It's a good time to set aside any existing constructs about what we like and what we don't like and stay open to new experiences, new people and new situations.

This isn't the best energy to make an important decision (regarding our Gemini natal house theme or Venus ruled love, money, self-esteem, values, women or beauty) or commit to something long-term. We don't want to be asking these things of others either. For example it's not the best time to ask clients to be tied into a long-term membership, but it's an excellent time to think outside the box about who would be up for a short-term trial period. People will be more open-minded about less important things. For the next three weeks, it's time to "flirt", it's not the time to "put a ring on it". This doesn't just apply to romance.

Now Ceres replaces Venus in Taurus (a sign she should at least co-rule if not rule - Venus will still have Libra). Back to her garden. The good news - this is Ceres in Taurus. Great for planting. Great for procreation. If you are trying to get pregnant/move into a new season of life, Ceres in this fertile territory will help. The bad news - she's going to move through all the pesky fixed squares the Sun, Mercury and Venus just did. Her first big aspect will be her conjunction to Uranus on June 11th, so we might expect some surprises involving Ceres/Taurus themes then - mothering, seasons of life, things outside our control, compromises, weather/earth situations.

LOOKING AHEAD TO THE REST OF THE MONTH - there is ALOT going on. The first couple weeks are mostly good aspects - things are moving forward. We have a New Moon in Taurus (New Earth folks) in the middle of the month. I haven't looked at that one yet. We have Jupiter leaving Aquarius for his ancient home sign of Pisces just before that New Moon - our Pisces natal house expansion will get a summer preview - before he slips back into Aquarius later in the year! In Pisces, Jupiter will finally get some distance from Saturn which should help us feel better. And with Mercury and Venus in Gemini - those Aquarius squares from last month (tension, frustration) turn into smooth air trines - good news. The Sun still has some work to do in Taurus including meeting Pluto toward the end of the month - personal empowerment. The third week of the month we get some challenges and Saturn stations retrograde. By the fourth week we enter eclipse season with - a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius (Sag house culmination, possible Sag house loss), followed by Mercury stationing retrograde, so expect some twists and turns. We'll hash all this out in the monthly.

There is some good stuff brewing this week, we just have to get through the reality check early in the week (and we certainly could have had this already - late last week or over the weekend as this aspect was applying) and not get too carried away with the Jupiter squares as we move through the week. With multiple planets changing signs - EXPECT CHANGE THIS WEEK. Keep your eye on the calendar for Mercury's shadow degree date (May 14th) - we want to get Gemini stuff taken care of before that date, if possible, so we don't have the Merc retro delays and reviews if we don't need to! And keep the other eye on your wallet, your values and your resources this week with those Taurus squares.

TODAY'S ASTROLOGY FORECAST | Sunday, May 2, 2021 - intense emotions, powerful language, transformation, practical magic, creative opportunities, talking to ghosts, thoughts become things

The Moon continues to move through sober/ambitious Capricorn - she trined Venus at 12:41AM EDT, sextiled Neptune at 2:15AM EDT, meets up with a retrograde Pluto at 9:53AM EDT (intense emotions over old matters) and goes void at 10:37AM EDT off a trine to Mercury. She will be void until 3:31 when she moves into Aquarius. In Aqua over the next couple days we get those squares to the Taurus planets, so probably some tension/stress.

Today is the day Mercury trines Pluto and Venus sextiles Neptune. Both smooth aspects - with Mercury/Pluto our words are empowering/even transformational. This is a nice, solid earth trine - building something REAL. Pluto is retrograde now, so this might involve an old situation, might speak of some kind of do-over. As the compulsion/obsession/manipulation/power struggle eases up, those practical ideas/words in Taurus will flow easily/promote growth. Thoughts become things.

In some cases Mercury/Pluto enables a kind of dark or compulsive thinking, so if we find ourselves going back over already mined territory see if there is anything practical that can be dug up this time around.

Venus's sextile to Neptune - both powerful in their home signs - speaks of practical magic. Physical healing. Compassion. The sensual touch that feels like love. This is a creative opportunity. More 'making the dream real' stuff. Endless love. Money comes in or floats on out the door to someone else. We might drift off course/dream the day away.

Our boundaries are thin here, and with Pluto and Neptune both activated, we are working some very old (familial/past-life) and very important story-lines. Things are more than they appear to be (why we are saying/doing what we are doing/why what is happening is happening) - how deep we go with this is up to us. We might dig up a few skeletons, but also some BURIED TREASURE.

Just avoid that Void Moon period for anything important.

Tomorrow is that Sun square Saturn (stop sign/reality checkpoint) and Mercury square Jupiter and Mercury moves home to Gemini, so definite changes in store for Monday.

Back with a weekly tonight - can't get the whole monthly up, but will write a monthly overview with the weekly - BIG MONTH!

Today's Astrology Forecast | saturday, May 1, 2021 - getting our ducks in a row

The Moon is in serious Capricorn now - we are nourished by stability, having a plan/a few bucks in the bank/pulling ourselves up by our boot straps.

The Moon, as ruler of Cappy's polarity sign of Cancer, is considered in her detriment in Capricorn. Today's aspects look pretty good though. She trines Uranus at 6:12AM EDT (breaks with tradition/change is good) and trines (brakes off) the Sun at 7:1AM EDT.

The Moon's trine to the Sun is this month's Waning Trine - Taurus/Cappy. Solid earth. Practical action feels good. Stepping into our responsibilities feels good. Our money, values, resources are stabilized through hard work/setting goals. Short cuts won't work. Cappy/Taurus won't be fast acting, but it can be long-lasting. This is all quite common sense, but sometimes needs to be said, and sometimes this 'common sense' stuff works better than other times and this would be one of those times.

Yes, it's a Saturday, but we can still make use of this energy.

Working on a monthly and the month looks action packed! Hopefully that will be the next post, otherwise I'll pop up a daily for tomorrow because tomorrow's aspects look EXCELLENT.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Friday, April 30th, 2021 - detaching from old values/money/resources, a change of seasons, financial change, compromise, noticing to what and to whom we are tethered

The Moon continues to move through Sagittarius - greener pastures, feeling more optimistic, preachy/reckless if we go too far. She goes void off a nice sextile with Sag ruler Jupiter this morning (9:26AM EDT), moving into more serious/goal-oriented Capricorn at 12:16PM EDT. She will oppose Mars (in Cancer) at 7:50PM EDT which could present a home vs work kind of thing. Although they have a kind of mutual reception going on, so it shouldn't be too hard to resolve. The Cappy Moon will make some nice aspects this weekend, so we could get alot done.

The BIG news today as we close out April - the Sun meets Uranus at 10 degrees Taurus.

This is about a light (Sun) being thrown on something unexpected (Uranus). This is a strong urge (Sun) to be free (Uranus). This is a flash (Sun) of genius (Uranus). This is shock (Uranus) and awe (Sun).

This aspect will often show us to what and to whom we are tethered. Sometimes by breaking the cords.

This might be shown to us in a way that doesn't feel so good. But not necessarily. Uranus (the conductor of our fastest route from point A to point B) uses what works and sometimes the stick works better than the carrot. Sometimes we are not hungry enough to even notice the carrot. But, maybe we are. Hungry, I mean.

Uranus is an outer planet - our hive-mind, genius, nonconforming, techno-centric God of (don't kid yourself this isn't true) - CHAOS. He wants change, by whatever means necessary. We can see the uber collective nature of Uranus - he co-rules the sign (Aquarius) which is opposite Leo, the sign the Sun rules. Leo is solar/ego/individual expression. Aquarius is group/collective energy. Unconventional, eccentric, yes, most likely, but not individualistic because life is viewed from a distance/through a wide-angle lens.

Sometimes people confuse Uranus with Aquarius and glamorize us 'being ourselves' in the New Age, which is kind of ridiculous. Highly Uranian people (think of Trump with his Sun/Uranus/North Node/10th house) are not at all individual in the solar sense and they often have little awareness of personal values and personal identity. This is why Aquarius needs reality-police/grounded Saturn, too. The whole 'greater good' thing is highly Uranian. And it can go sour quickly, when we lean too much in a 'what's best for the collective' mentality (and what better than a pandemic to push us in this direction very quickly). What is 'good for the group' can be sometimes good and sometimes necessary, but we can lose touch with what is nourishing/creative (solar) on an inner level and many important aspects of personal life may be unwittingly crushed. Maybe because I have a stellium in Aquarius, I do not glamorize it. Uranus is about change at any cost (why sober and time-honoring Saturn's co-rulership is necessary). Change is often good, but change just for the sake of change may not be. And Uranus is usually quite bad at respecting the individual when change is required.

So, today we have the Sun (ruler of Leo) meeting Uranus (ruler of Aquarius). They meet in Taurus, where Uranus has been busy detaching us (since March 2019) from what we once loved/valued/needed. They come together; the conjunction is kind of like a Full Moon. A light is tossed on their story.

EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED.

This could be about an abrupt CHANGE/new start.

With both planets in Taurus - there might be a change in what we value/our money/earnings. An unexpected expense/purchase (purchases now will create great change/speak of what you value NOW). Maybe some #unexpected #notunexpected money will come in. Buy a lottery ticket. Something might DAWN ON US now - maybe about something we previously valued, but now can see we have wasted time/money/resources. Uranus in Taurus is detaching us from what has been keeping us stuck. New values/new beauty/new ways to make money and work with our resources are needed. People born with this aspect (Sun/Uranus) can feel a little like "the rules don't apply to me" and we might feel a little like this now. We could also feel a little "rebel without a cause".

This energy is designed for BREAK-UPS, BREAKDOWNS and most importantly BREAKTHROUGHS.

Two things are happening here - Uranus - the future, technology, change, chaos - gets a little more solar/things get more PERSONAL "do I believe in this with my heart as well as my head" and the Sun becomes more Uranian (not really of course, but it can feel like this) - more hive-minded/we are detached from here, so we can look over THERE. Especially if we are trying to keep something going that is already dead/barren - think of Taurus holding on too long. The bull, standing in the empty field where he has already eaten all the grass. If something breaks apart now, know it was threadbare/fragile already.

This transit will be strongest felt by people with planets/points near 10 degrees Taurus (and the other fixed signs) and anyone with a natal/progressed Sun/Uranus aspect. Possibly Sun in Aquarius people, Sun in 11th house people, too. Maybe.

At the same time we have Ceres (at 26 degrees Aries) squaring a retrograde Pluto in Cappy. These two are ancient enemies who worked out a compromise. Ceres is about season of life situations (nothing lasts forever) and squaring the God of the Underworld (death) is kind of reinforcing the Sun/Uranus.

A season has ended - remember depression comes from too much sitting still! - a new season is beginning. With Ceres in Aries, something brand-new is most assuredly HERE - and maybe we know what this is, but maybe not yet, because this is Taurus season and think of the way plants grow underground before we can see those early shoots.

Maybe we have this fear of letting go of the old, again, the things that used to support us/stabilize us. Old goals that no longer matter. But when we can't seem to get ourselves to count those cans of beans in the cupboard, one ... more ... freakin ... time, something has to change.

Keep in mind both of today's aspects are pointing us toward the NEW.

If you have something new going on, lean in that direction, and, keep in mind, there could be some room for compromise now.

If nothing new is visible - maybe try this  - most people plant little plants/seedlings instead of actual seeds. They want to see what they have/are going to get before they INVEST. This might work just fine, but sometimes this is skipping a step we don't want to skip - if you are stuck, plant some actual seeds in some actual soil, tend them, have patience - you have given life and life will be given to you.

Taurus season will yield to Gemini season soon enough, and multiple planets will start to go retrograde including Mercury!

We've had Venus/Mercury/Uranus plus a BIG Scorpio Full Moon open this chapter last week/the week before - there was a SHOCK. The liberating change/loss might have already happened. Keep in mind the Sun is going to square Saturn in a couple days, so there will be challenges/limits/our responsibilities to the group. With Saturn in Aquarius this can also be about technology getting in the way - are we distracting ourselves/wasting the most valuable of resources, TIME, online? Eventually we get to a smooth trine between the Sun and Pluto - personal power.

But we have to work the process before we get there.

For today, choose differently. This is an excellent time to drop a bad habit like a hot potato, by focusing on SOMETHING ELSE.
