Father's Day Fantabulous Giveaway

AND THE WINNERS ARE - First prize goes to Sarah! Check out her beautiful blog. Second prize goes to Nicole of Lillyella - good luck with BOB Nicole- keep him in line!

Father's Day is June 21st and I know your dad (or hubby, or grandpa or even yourself) would love to win one of the amazing prizes I am giving away here!

Yes, that's right I said PRIZES, as in plural, as in 2 amazing Father's Day goodies and that means 2 winners!

So in honor of my own dad who passed away when I was 18 (and who has a special connection to these fantabulous goodies) and my wonderful hubby; both of them avid repurposers, upcyclers, artists and amazing dads - the FIRST PRIZE is:

An amazing 15" square magnet board from Polarity made with a retro cedar record frame that was recycled from an old cedar barn and stained with a gorgeous honey stain. Inside the frame is a beautiful map fabric (dad really won't have to ask for directions now) which covers a piece of galvanized sheet metal which has also been repurposed. It comes with 5 matching 1.5" magnets which have been assembled from sustainable cork.

SECOND PRIZE is BOB. Bob is an acronym for “Bunch of Bolts, a creation in honor of SomethingWhimsical artist Vincent Corona-Evans' father (who also happened to be my father) who used to make robots out of nuts and bolts and copper tubing and pretty much anything else he came across. Sporting a timeworn look, these little guys come on a 20" ballchain and are super- fun to wear. Packaged within an antiqued, weather-worn box, each BOB comes with a very informative (and hysterically funny) 16-page mini-manual.

HOW TO WIN:

Leave a comment about a favorite Father's Day gift or memory OR check out either of these shops and let me know of a favorite item or something that you would like to see us offer - Polarity or SomethingWhimsical

I still make my Dad his gifts most of the time. One of my favorite memories was a few years ago when I made him a small box to keep change and loose items in on his dresser. He loved it! He put it up there right away and even used it! What I really love, is that it is still there...sitting on his dresser holding tiny treasures!

Jingle's on the ball:) I am a follower and I often purchase necklaces and buttons from you:) My favorite fathers day gift was the ice maker to put out at the lake. Everytime we are there, we're always low on ice and he just can't believe that we don't have enough ice or nobody got some from the marina so now he can't say a word because there is always ice:)

When I was about 5 I made this pencil holder for my dad out of a tin can and some masking tape and painted it with shoe polish to make it look like leather. It was a mess but he put in on his office desk and still has it at home and uses it today. I'm 25 now. It makes me smile every time I see it :)

Thanks so much for this giveaway! I'm crossing my fingers!

What a fantabulous giveaway! I lost my dad/hero two years ago but have amazing memories of going hiking with him on just about every father's day. He had a gift for attracting birds and I would feel like snow white with a trail of birds behind us:-). Hey tell your brother he needs to make some dog BOBs!
I am a follower and am about to tweet. Have a grand one! Oh, you're in my treasury right now.

Those magnetic lockets are so creative! And I'm getting a kick out of BOB - my dad's name is Bob, so that would kind of be perfect for him :).

He'd also like the magnet board... and if he didn't, I'd happily keep it for myself!

Hmm, I don't really have any good father's day gifts...never had one of my own! And my father in law always just wants to go out to eat...but he would so love that map-magnetboard!

And my grandpa would love the BoB! Heck, I love the BoB! He's so very cute!

My favorite Something Whimsical item is the locket-pendants. They're the best! But I could wish there was Etsy artist pendant after my shop, if you like.;)

One of my most memorable father's day gift is a calendar and bookmark set I made him in elementary school. The calendar was a disaster, with glitter and glue everywhere. I don't think he actually used it either. But the bookmark he still keeps in his bible.

I love the Father's Day Shirt I gave my husband the year after our son was born. It was a "Greatest Father 2004" shirt from Old Navy and I put my son's footprint on the sleeve with acrylic paint. It's simple and sweet and my hubby wears it all the time!

My favorite gift is probably different from my dad's... but mine is from when I was old enough to understand his interests. I got him some books about globalization and it's affect on, well, the world...and a book about modernization. He really loved them, and I was happy I could get him something he really enjoyed.

My memory is of my dad when I was in kindergarten. My mom was away on a business trip and she used to always braid my hair before school. My dad had never braided hair before but he really tried. It looked not so great but at least he cared enough to try. I miss him!

We got my dad this mug one year that was "the rule according to dad" it all the sayings he used to say that I didn't get until I became a parent. The one that sticks out the most is "close the door are you trying to heat the world" My kids will stand there with the door open when it is 10 below freezing!

My husband would say the best gifts he has been given is just a great meal. He's very sweet.

But I think the best gifts have been a photo album, electronics (he likes flashlights) home depot gift cards and a gift card for books.

I would love to win the magnet board from Polarity because my husband would totally love it because he likes recycling. For Christmas, I gave him cloth shopping bags for the grocery store and he loves them! I think he would be in love with the old cedar barn frame. We're buying a new house and this would be the perfect accent to his office.

My dad was killed tragically when I was two so I never got to make him a gift. His grave is in Waterford and I try to get over occasionally on Fathers day and visit.
Now my husband is the great Dad the type I imagined mine would be.
His greatest gift he always said is to have his three fave people, me and my two children wake him up on Fathers Day and he says thats his day complete.

Really stunning Giveaway, love the board

I also lost my dad at just 17 so have missed out on the father's day fun for quite a while. My dad was a whisky drinking, big cigar smoking larger than life character with a handle bar moustache. If he was around now I'd just give him a big hug for being such a great dad.
Love your ideas and am now a follower!
