weekly astrology forecast | october 5th - October 11th, 2026 - what do we do with what we know ... the re-negotiation begins

TUESDAY - Mercury conjunct Venus retro

WEDNESDAY - Mars sextile Uranus

FRIDAY - Mercury quincunx Saturn

SATURDAY - Venus retro square Mars, NEW MOON IN LIBRA (17 degrees Libra)

Last week, and I really mean just hours ago - we had Venus stationing retrograde in Scorpio while Mars opposed Pluto, followed by the Sun opposing Saturn. There was a very strong sense of something reaching a limit - desire versus power, individual will versus larger forces and ultimately what can and cannot continue as it has been.

This week continues the story forward ... or backward actually!

Let's unpack it.

TUESDAY - Something we feel but haven't quite articulated becomes speakable. Maybe what we value, what we're owed, what we want. And because Venus is retrograde, this is more about us understanding something than us moving forward with something even though this is a conjunction. Scorpio wants to get underneath the polite version of the story. What is the actual feeling? What is the actual motive? What was really hurt? What do I actually value? What did I tolerate because I wanted to preserve the peace? This is very different from Libra's instinct to smooth things over.

And this is important because the New Moon later in the week is in Libra, ruled by this retrograde Venus. So, the New Moon is not asking us to create harmony from scratch. It is asking us to create a different kind of harmony based on what we have now uncovered.

WEDNESDAY - This feels like the escape hatch. After the intensity of Mars opposite Pluto last week, Mars now makes a cooperative aspect to Uranus/change/the future/trauma. The same Mars that was caught in a power struggle with Pluto suddenly has somewhere else to go. So instead of force leads to resistance leads to escalation we get - ACTION LEADS TO EXPERIMENTATION LEADS TO CHANGE.

Mars in Leo wants to act from the heart and reclaim his agency/his royal throne. Uranus in Gemini says, try something different. This could bring an unexpected solution, a new idea, a change in strategy or simply the realization that we don't have to fight the old battle on the old battlefield.

FRIDAY - is the awkward adjustment. Mercury in Scorpio wants to say what it knows and Saturn in Aries asks - "and what are you going to do about it." The quincunx/inconjunct doesn't feel resolved. It requires adjustment between two things that don't fit. You may know something now that you can't easily act on yet. Or you may realize that saying something carries consequences. Or maybe the realization is that silence is also a choice and has consequences. When Saturn comes in we can always count on things getting serious and we have a need to TAKE THINGS SERIOUSLY (in this case, our words, information).

The answer isn't simply "speak your truth." Saturn asks whether the truth we're speaking is sustainable, responsible and actually useful. Maybe something we've learned doesn't match what we've committed to, and the adjustment is awkward. It points to re-vision, not re-solution.

SATURDAY - the New Moon will have its own post, but here is where more than the Sun and the Moon are coming together even as their rulers square each other! The New Moon is at 17-degrees Libra, and it occurs while Venus (Libra's ruler) is retrograde in Scorpio and moving into an exact square to Mars in Leo. The New Moon is also opposed by Saturn and receives a sextile from Jupiter. That is not a clean-slate New Moon. It is more of a re-negotiation New Moon.

It's a New Moon we plant quietly and re-visit and NOT one we build on right away (we'll know more by the New Moon post when I unpack it).

Libra says - how do we relate to one another? Venus in Scorpio says - but first, let's be honest about what is actually happening. Mars in Leo says - and what am I willing to stand for? Saturn says - and what are the consequences? Jupiter says - what becomes possible if we approach this differently?

After last week's ginormous Mars/Pluto, Venus retro and Sun/Saturn confrontations, the story this week is NOT "the crisis is over." This is more like - the crisis has given us information. Now what do we do with it?

Last week could have exposed where something has become intolerable and then this week asks what happens after we know that.

So, this New Moon looks like the beginning of a process of re-negotiation. And keep in mind that Mars sextile Uranus sits in the middle of this. There is an opening to do something differently. That makes this feel much less like the aftermath of a crisis and much more like the first attempt to build something different from what the crisis revealed.

The New Moon Libra isn't so much about peace :( In this chart, Libra is about terms, reciprocity, fairness and relationship. With Venus ruler retrograde in Scorpio squaring Mars, the question isn't - how can everyone be happy? It's more like - "What would make this relationship, agreement, arrangement or situation actually fair?"

And that can be a much more uncomfortable question.

xo all - back with Mars in Leo and the New Moon in Libra posts! Also, there is more about this week in the Venus retro post HERE. Please excuse typos and nonsense, too tired to reread this tonight.
