astrology forecast for the week of march 21st - March 27th, 2022 | hope, faith and gunpowder, explosive changes ahead

There are two prevalent themes this week,

one is optimistic/hopeful (likely won't all pan out, but we'll follow the breadcrumbs at this point anyway) - we lean in, toward something BIGGER focused on new growth/the future as we release any tangled obsession with something that is overly complicated/dead.

The other theme is about breaking free from what has grown stagnant/too rooted via unexpected disruptions, outbursts, accidents. And we can see how these two themes are working together.

We want to be RESPONDING AND NOT REACTING to frustrating situations this week.

Change is necessary, but can be upsetting/uncomfortable.

We only have a few more weeks of miracle-making/spiritual-healing Pisces energy

(we have not had this much celestial magic in our lifetimes folks as the Pisces heavy hitters approach their own "world starts up again" pow-wow in mid April

and now, with the Sun in Aries and Mercury by the end of this week, it will be easier to actually do something with it.

We'll talk more about this in the next post when we look ahead to April.

For now, let's unpack the week:

MONDAY - Mercury conjuncts Jupiter, Mars sextiles Chiron

TUESDAY - Mars squares Uranus

WEDNESDAY - Mercury conjuncts Neptune, Mercury sextiles North Node

SATURDAY - Mercury sextiles Pluto

SUNDAY - Mercury into Aries

MONDAY - Mercury, at 18 degrees Pisces meets up with Jupiter, while Mars, at 11 degrees Aquarius, sextiles Chiron in Aries, TUESDAY - Mars, at 12 degrees Aquarius squares Uranus in Taurus.

There could be BIG news now (it might be a bit or quite a bit overblown, so keep this in mind) - hopeful, optimistic. The impossible can look quite possible ... and this is the sign of miracles, so maybe it is. Life doesn't dangle these carrots to make us crazy (or hungry), but to wake us up to what is possible. Excellent energy for prayer/meditation. There are opportunities for healing via our actions/passion/initiative/men/groups. Maybe the news/information/conversation itself is healing. Maybe this, rather than the accuracy of the information, which is hard to say at this point, IS the point. What does it mean if we really, really want something to be true? With the Mars/Chiron our old vulnerabilities/embarrassments are now empowering us. We CAN be ourselves, take care of ourselves, start something new - whatever this is.

Now, as Mars is sextiling (opportunity) wounded healer Chiron, Mars is also applying to his square to disruptive Uranus (and with Mars in Aquarius he is answering to Uranus which is probably just powering this whole thing up), so it could be through tension/frustration we get the LIBERATION/CHANGE that creates the opportunity to heal these very old wounds, strengthen ourselves and over time share these strengths with other people because we understand these particular kinds of struggles ourselves.

Expect breakthroughs, breakdowns, break-ups. Disruption. Impulsivity. Sudden anger. The challenge comes through our Taurus house, so collectively this will be about resources, money and values (and our natal Taurus house theme).

This is explosive energy, although not something that comes completely out of the blue because we've had the Sun and Mercury through here and Venus just within the last few days. This is accident prone energy, so slow down. Think, before you say/do something you might regret later. On the other hand, since Mars is the last inner planet to work a square with Uranus until summer, if something in our Taurus house needs to break free, it probably will. Hold on loosely, change is necessary, but could leave us rattled and we could take things too far if we act TOO impulsively, so try to keep a cool head.

This is Mars/Uranus closing square that will be unwinding until they meet and start a new cycle in August. So, there will likely be a connection now to something we have going on BIG TIME near August 1st when Mars meets Uranus AND the North Node (fate/the future). Space for the NEW is being created.

To use this volatile energy in its most potent/positive form - do something differently. Be brave and INNOVATIVE!

(Mars/Uranus is likely to bring something explosive #unexpected,#nottotallyunexpected to the Ukraine/Russia situation since it was Mars across the HOT 22 Cappy that launched that)

We don't want to be resisting change just because we do not know how to respond to it. The backdrop of the big Pisces energies is silently guiding us through the emotional/mental uncomfortableness, through the Uranus disorder/crisis to a place that is more simple, clear and real.

On WEDNESDAY, Mercury, at 23 degrees, meets up with Neptune and sextiles the North Node in Taurus.

This might speak of acceptance with the change/disruption. We are going to need to go with the flow here. the currents are moving us in the direction we need to go, we can trust this. Our intuition will be high now. We have an open channel to both our ancestors and our smoothest path forward - which is their path, too. They are alive through us just as we are alive through them. Pisces is reciprocal energy, think of the number eight lying on its side; the symbol of infinity. Words/messages are powerful now, and pointing us in an opportunistic direction, but Pisces energy can also be subtle. We are feeling what people are saying more than hearing what words are coming out of their mouths.

GO WITH THE FLOW.

By the end of the week, on SATURDAY (keep in mind dates are not exact for aspects other than lunar), Mercury has now reached 28 degrees and is sextiling powerful Pluto.

Words are powerful/persuasive. We are looking under the hood/the covers. Hidden resources/opportunities can float up to the surface here. This aspect has some 'dark magic' connotations, so don't try to manipulate data/information/the conversation/other people now.

This is Pisces/Cappy energy - good for making the dream real.

Putting some solid legs under something illusive. Good for dealing with authority and stepping into our own in a compassionate manner. Good for healing curses. Making powerful vision boards. Setting intentions. This 28 degrees Pisces is where the Sun sextiled Pluto last week and where Venus will meet Jupiter at the end of April while sextiling Pluto - which could be the best aspect of 2022 and will close out a volatile month with a GIFT. So, what seeds do we want to plant now with our words/imagination? Since this is Pluto (ruler of Scorpio and death/rebirth), and Mercury is at the very end of the very last sign -  thinking about/talking about/writing about what we want to release (because it is dead, not good for us), transformed, merged in a very intimate way or what we are pregnant with (kind of the pre-birth energy of something) is very powerful now.

On SUNDAY, Mercury joins the Sun in fiery Aries. Our language and thinking becomes more focused, clear-headed, courageous and passionate. We don't want to talk about/think about everything (Pisces) we just want to talk about this one, probably 'new' thing (Aries). There might be as much arguing as talking.

Mercury (ideas, thinking, language) in Aries puts our instinct into words. Our mind gets faster. Our tongue gets sharper. Words get pushy. It is easier to speak up for ourselves and ask for what we want/need. We can also more easily pick an argument as language becomes more competitive. The silence that was so golden in Pisces gets broken in Aries. Think: fresh start with Mercury themes - words, thinking, writing, learning, teaching, ideas, sibling issues, transportation, local community. Also bringing fresh words and fresh thinking into our natal Aries house theme and the house that holds our natal Aries. While in Aries over the next few weeks, Mercury will meet Chiron, meet the Sun, sextile the Aqua planets - Saturn and Mars and square Pluto. Mercury will be in Aries until April 10th.

Keep the faith everyone, BIG, likely chaotic, change in the world this week, but know Venus and Jupiter are meeting on the North Node at the end of April providing a loving/expansive portal into the best possible timeline. We have already started lining ourselves up with this - we'll talk more about it in the next post.

xo all - back with a look at April and we'll take another look at Ukraine/Russia.

the meaning of the Full Moon in Virgo | March 18th, 2022 - what comes from being cut off, making healthy changes, what gets fixed

Full Moon in Virgo 2022

On March 18th, 2022 at 3:17AM EDT the Virgo Moon opposes the Pisces Sun giving us this month's Full Moon; our annual Full Moon in Virgo.

This is the final 27 degree Full Moon closing out our streak (unprecedented? hard to say, but I haven't seen it - we had a long streak of 23 degree New Moons last year setting up April 2022 which we'll talk about next post). The Moon makes an applying trine (brakes off) to powerful/transformative Pluto at 28 degrees Cappy, so although all these Moons have been interacting with Pluto, this month we get the SMOOTH aspect, it's applying rather than exact AND Pluto has moved to 28 degrees for the first time since the American Revolution.

This 'brakes off' thing can remove an obstacle. Can allow a seamless elimination/transformation. Give us access to power. But can also make things more intense/obsessive. Give things a 'life and death' urgency, that, (even with earthy Virgo and Capricorn keeping things real), may be out of proportion to the situation, although maybe not, so keep that in mind.

A Full Moon brings something to light (to our attention or into the open), to a fullness or to a culmination

One thing this Full Moon in practical Virgo with that trine to Pluto in Cappy might bring us is a FIX as she plays out over the next couple weeks.

Or maybe we've already fixed something/attended to a problem and HERE are the results of our efforts. If our efforts have been practical and grounded - we will have something to show for them. If our efforts have been about trying to manipulate a situation, the Full Moon might be shining a light on a self-created mess.

Either way, even with all these Piscean planets,  even though we are swimming with the fishies, HERE is the Moon's bright light on the situation. For a moment at least the fog clears. The results are visible. Sanity prevails. Here is the view of the situation from the cold light of day.

We want to be as realistic as possible because Virgo is the best sign for bringing problems into the here and now which is the only place anything actually ever gets FIXED.

With all this Pisces, lots of things could feel like they are hard to hold onto. Lots of things could feel like they are slipping through our fingers. Maybe completions will still feel incomplete and unsatisfying somehow. Maybe we are tired or don't feel well. Or maybe we feel better - the symptoms clear up, but since we aren't sure what really happened or what is about to happen we still aren't clear headed even after the Moon has slapped us in the face with that splash of cold water.

All this Pisces will NOT be discounted. We are going to need extra rest/relaxation. We are going to have to blast some Jack Johnson and dance around our living-room in our skivvies. Paint. Meditate. Listen to music. Pray.

AND because the Full Moon is in practical Virgo - the sign that rules our health, daily routine, our pets, the practical activities that keep our lives in ORDER, we are going to have to get some work done, too.

These Virgo-type things - attending to the details, etc, will pay off for us over the next two weeks and month. Especially things designed to kind of 'close-out'/clean-out old situations and clear the ground for the New Moon in Aries on April 1st that will start the new Lunar Year.

OK, let's unpack the chart!

The Moon opposes the Sun at 27 degrees - Virgo/Pisces. We can see a pile-up of Pisces planets and another pileup in Aquarius. There is alot going on in a couple areas of our lives. And then the Moon is somewhere else saying, HERE, don't forget about this area, TOO. Life is INTENSE right now. Both collectively and personally.

Whenever we see an isolated Moon we can think about - what has been left out? What has been neglected? What do I have to do by myself? This also makes the Moon, especially with that trine to Pluto, very powerful. Great things can be accomplished. Great HEALINGS.

The Moon is tightly conjunct asteroid Aphrodite. When sky god Uranus refused the children he had created with earth mama Gaia she asked their son Saturn to cut off his father’s genitals and toss them into the sea (Saturn's nerves of steel weren't born from nothing folks). Out of the resulting waves arose Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, born not so much the child of love/unity, but from what was lost/conflict. Finding her with the Full Moon (she is exactly trining powerful Pluto) at such tumultuous times might speak of ways to heal the divide between warring factions, between the rising feminine and the wounded masculine (Mars/Venus traveling together for weeks, during all this trauma), between the patriarchy and humanity. Coupled with Luna at such an important time I think this is showing the need for beauty, love and pleasure even in times of trying circumstances, maybe especially, in such times and to not forget that through great conflicts/struggles are birthed new beauty/chances/opportunities - great love. This might also speak of 'cutting off the balls' of great leaders - none of the world leaders' charts I looked at, at this Full Moon look very good and this isn't about one bad apple/demon seed, there have been opportunities for compromise not taken and all points of view are skewed here - and maybe a need to humble ourselves/lose an old source of power in order to move forward.

Because Virgo and Pisces are mutable signs, CHANGE is needed/happening. That trine to Pluto speaks of something falling into place - either through a release or a result. Mercury, the ruler of Virgo and so ruler of this lunation is sextiling (opportunity) disruptive Uranus. Change is good. Prayer (Mercury is in Pisces) is powerful. Trying something else - that sextile to Uranus - is what will work.

Besides all those Pisces planets, there is another pile-up of planets in future-focused Aquarius.

We can see those Aquarius planets are squaring Uranus in Taurus. This is still more in this Full Moon chart that speaks of CHANGE. Saturn, of course, squared Uranus all last year (three times exactly) and most of this year, a little less tightly. Venus, the lucky lady is sandwiched between malefic Mars and malefic Saturn - should we say "squeezed"?!. Interesting how with Venus trapped, Aphrodite shows up. Venus is tightly applying to her square to Uranus - exact this weekend - this is where something NEEDS TO BREAK LOOSE. We talked about how 'real' change comes through changing these fixed/stuck spaces. It's not a coincidence Uranus is in Taurus - fixed earth - during these chaotic times. The Venus square - CHANGE/DISRUPTION - doesn't have to be a bad thing, but squares are challenging. This might bring changes to our relationships, finances, values, self-esteem and, also, show us the NEED TO MAKE CHANGES/need to break free.

(this might show the need to take a little space from a relationship that has grown too claustrophobic or to spend a little money if purse strings have been closed too tight - we don't want to take anything here too far because Uranus only cares that something change, not where that change leads us and remember his cojones being snipped is part of this Moon, too, and now that I think about it, this is another kind of 'fix' isn't it)

With all these planets in dreamy/distractable Pisces and all these planets in logical/future-focused but detached Aquarius, we NEED this Moon to anchor us into the present reality. To say HERE is what must be done, do this. HERE is what must go, eliminate this. HERE is what you have fixed. HERE are the results.

Remember Virgo focuses on the practical aspects of our day-to-day life. What needs to change? Or what has changed and what do we need to do now to incorporate these changes into our daily life?

Venus is EXACTLY sextiling Chiron - there is healing here of very old wounds around the wounded masculine, our self esteem, our ability to take care of ourselves, stand up for ourselves and be ourselves.

At the Full Moon in Virgo trining Pluto - we want to focus on what is good for us/what is healthy. We want to release what needs to be eliminated - what is chaotic/complicated/messy/dis-empowering/dead. Maybe something here about losing an old source of power. Keep in mind the Full Moon IS the point of fullness, NOTHING can happen until something is released.

Start with an exhale.

And, make sure to get out and walk in this one!

xo all

There is also a Grand Earth Trine with Sedna - which echoes Pluto's transformative energy and Aphrodite's story - transformation through what has been lost - more 'cutting off' by family (in this case father instead of son), ouch - and also pulls in themes of 'what we know' but don't want to admit to ourselves, more humbling, it would appear. Or a situation where our point of view is out of kilter. Or the results of such situations.

weekly astrology forecast | March 14th - 20th, 2022 - big week, Full Moon Virgo, financial changes, new solar year kicks off washing away what was

I hope everyone had some rest last week (and not like me .. in bed with a thermometer) because this week is a BIGGIE as we start to build toward mid-April's HUGE meeting of Neptune and Jupiter (first time in Pisces since 1856).

With the Sun contacting both the Nodes of Fate and Galactic Center PLUS our final 27 degree Full Moon trining powerful Pluto PLUS a stellium of planets in mystical and delusional Pisces - it will be important to take care of ourselves. Plug the leaks. Keep our feet on the ground. This is a time of important endings and beginnings and it aids absolutely no one to immerse ourselves in fear/chaos (the South Node!). Pray for peace. HARD. Then raise the vibration by giving your attention to what you can control/what is right in front of you. What is GROWING. What is SIMPLE. All the planets are in direct motion - we are moving forward!

Oh, and our New Year starts on Sunday, folks - are you ready?!

MONDAY - Sun sextiles North Node, Mercury squares Ceres, Venus trines Ceres

THURSDAY - Mercury sextiles Uranus, Sun squares Galactic Center

FRIDAY - Full Moon in Virgo, Venus sextiles Chiron, Sun sextiles Pluto

SATURDAY - Venus squares Uranus

SUNDAY - Sun enters Aries, Aries Equinox

On MONDAY, the Sun, at 24 degrees Pisces, sextiles the North Node in Taurus and trines the South Node in Scorpio

This is all subtle energy. We want to be careful - because the trine is a stronger aspect than the sextile - that we don't slip back into something we would be better off done with or stay in something because we have become so mired in the entanglements/drama that it's more comfortable/uncomfortable to stay than go. The sextile - opportunity through what is NEW - requires some effort, but is our better way forward. Let's move toward what is growing/bringing stability/is more SIMPLE. The Sun in Pisces can provide enough anesthetic for the old to dissolve and enough light on the new for us to choose a new direction, but we are going to have to make an effort with this one. Pay attention.

This is also the day Mercury squares Ceres and Venus trines Ceres. With Mercury in Pisces maybe our conversations/words are soothing/compassionate/unfocused/soft when what is needed is crisp/facts/information/more choices. The good news is that trine from Venus to Ceres. Venus is in future-focused/detached Aquarius and rules the North Node which is getting a sextile from the Sun. This pulls in some much needed air - makes it easier to avoid the sentimentality of Mercury/Pisces which isn't going to work right now. Keep conversations light/logical. Talk about the future and not the past. This is all reinforcing the Sun/Nodes. Make this day work for you.

Mercury (news/information) squaring Ceres (Russia), might indicate tension/frustration/troubling news for Russia leading to a smoother path between Russia and Venus (Zelenskyy/the invasion event). Maybe Russia more willing to compromise? Pallas meets up with healing Chiron tomorrow. Strategic Pallas was the only Goddess who hasn't chosen a side, and she is strong and brave in Aries, maybe something can get mediated this week. We are going to look at the charts of the countries and their leaders this week, too.

On THURSDAY - Mercury, at 12 degrees Pisces, sextiles Uranus

New information comes in. New conversations. Plans/our thinking CHANGES. This might be disruptive, but opportunistic. Words are more innovative/focused on the future. Brilliant ideas are out there, ready to be picked like apples in autumn, by just the right person. Or more likely, with Mercury in Pisces, ideas will be absorbed/intuited. This is a subtle aspect - hang out with the smartest people you know.

After meeting with Neptune, trining the South Node/sextiling the North and just before her BIG opposition to the Virgo Moon tomorrow the Sun squares the Galactic Center. NEW information coming to light. Adjustments. New downloads.

On FRIDAY, we have our annual Virgo Full Moon. This year we have the Moon trining Pluto, while Venus sextiles healing Chiron and the Sun sextiles Pluto - sounds good to me, expect a BIG post. This is our final Full Moon at 27 degrees.

On SATURDAY - Venus, at 12 degrees Aquarius, squares Uranus in Taurus. This immediately follows her sextile to Chiron and the Full Moon, so is likely all part of the same thing.

Changes with our money/resources. Changes to what we value. Disruption. Relationships can come out of the blue or break apart just as suddenly. These two planets are in mutual reception, so more stable than a typical Venus/Uranus square - still, expect the unexpected here. The Moon will be in Libra (focusing us on partnerships, other people, balance, fairness) trining all the liberating Aqua planets which will be helpful and Venus will be sextiling Pallas in Aries pulling in new plans and fresh strategies. We are ready for change/to change and this might be just the push we need!

Venus (Zelenskyy/the invasion event) making a square to change-maker Uranus would indicate a change/disruption for him/the event - maybe a pivot point. Venus is now at the invasion chart's Jupiter (U.S. maybe). This can also speak of finance/resource issues. Squares are tension/frustration and require movement/change.

On SUNDAY - the Sun enters Aries and kicks off the New Solar Year. Equinoxes are potent periods that bring in a need for greater balance/allow us to see what is out of balance. The Sun is much happier in Aries than Pisces, so our energy/confidence/enthusiasm will increase. Our Aries houses WAKE UP. Aries is about being brave/challenging ourselves in some way. Being independent. Starting something. All planets are in direct motion - this is not the time to sit still.

Back with a look at the Ukraine major player charts (unbelievable connections to each other and 1856) and the BIG Full Moon post.

today's astrology forecast | Sunday, March 13th, 2022 - emotionally flooded, a spotlight on our dreams, boundaries thin, what needs to comes out in the wash will

The Moon is finishing up in Cancer now. We are nourished/nurtured by home, family, mom and apple-pie. She trines Neptune at 12:24 AM EST and goes void off her monthly opposition to Pluto at 11:44AM EST. She will be void until 3:32PM EST when she moves into Leo.

In the meantime, this is the day the Sun meets up with Neptune at 22 degrees Pisces. This, plus the Cancer Moon's opposition to Pluto is likely to make this weekend very EMOTIONAL. We will be feeling what we are feeling and what our children are feeling and what that weird guy standing next to us in line at the grocery store is feeling. Turn off the news. Pay attention to what you are allowing yourself to ABSORB now and know when to say when.

Sun/Neptune can bring up feelings of melancholy, grief, exhaustion. It's a good time to catch a cold, for parades to be rained out, actions to drift off course. For something to happen/be happening that is COLLECTIVELY EMOTIONAL. To feel/be FLOODED. On the flip-side this is very soothing,  imaginative, compassionate energy, but it needs to go where it needs to go. Trying to force/manipulate life to go in a certain direction now will be challenging. Like trying to wrestle water.

Sun/Neptune can shine a BIG old spotlight (this is a once a year aspect and this year they meet at master number 22 degrees, so this is big) on our DREAM.

This is excellent energy for meditation (watch for over-medicating, effects of alcohol use gets amplified, etc), prayer, compassionate action. Making art and music. Healing. There is self-sacrifice here and sometimes the ego needs a little dissolving, but let's not take this too far. Self-sabotaging is possible, too. Toxins are more easily absorbed, so extra care should be taken with chemicals/food preparation, etc. If something is too draining, if you can feel yourself 'leaking' all over the situation or someone else is leaking all over you - say goodnight Gracie.

This would have been felt last Friday and Saturday, too, and into early next week. Whatever comes up is needed, brings cleansing, brings CATHARSIS.

Monday's Moon in Leo looks dicey. Get some extra rest.

today's astrology forecast | Thursday, March 10th, 2022 - doing our Gemini, talking about it, playing it smart, get things done early

The Moon finishes us her monthly journey through communicative/busy-busy Gemini.

She squares the Sun at 5:45AM EST, trines Saturn two minutes later (good for conversations with authority and stepping into our own, taking care of responsibilities, getting results) and goes void off her square with imaginative/foggy Neptune at 11:42AM EST.

She will be void for the rest of the day, so GET THINGS DONE EARLY.

The Moon's early morning square to the Sun is this month's First Quarter Square - Gemini/Pisces. This is tension/frustration between dealing with the facts/details/errands and letting things kind of flow/work out on their own. Book smarts vs intuitive feelings. The Moon in Gemini needs to be HEARD. Words need to be spoken out loud/information parsed through. This shouldn't be some big emotional thing. The Pisces Sun - and Mercury is in Pisces, too, now and Mercury rules Gemini - might want to gloss over things/take a break, feel what needs to be communicated (turn something into that big emotional thing) when what we really need now, on our way to next week's BIG Full Moon in Libra - is the FACTS/to take care of the details. Stay focused - at least until that void Moon in the afternoon. Then we can relax a bit.

This is also the day, after more than three years, Vesta moves into Aquarius, passing over that HOT zero degrees Aquarius (world starts up again).

Our focus/attention/what is keeping us up at night/what we NEED TO KEEP LIT - moves from the past into the future. Vesta in Aquarius speaks of a sacred devotion to causes/groups/friendships. A value of freedom/individuality/intelligence/science/tech. The fly in the ointment here is an Aquarian tendency to value 'people', over any particular person, mental stubbornness and detachment. Aqua taken too far, as Vesta's extreme focus can do, can be too robotic/too impersonal/need a shot of Leo.

Tomorrow the Moon will come home to Cancer. In Cancer she will make multiple smooth/positive aspects over the next couple days. Her final aspect in Cancer is an opposition to Pluto in Capricorn on Sunday morning. So things can flip around on us. Keep this in mind.

Today's astrology forecast | Tuesday, March 8th, 2022 - from earth to air, the pace quickens, use your head

The Moon continues her journey through Taurus - the sign of her exaltation. She meets the North Node (the need for something more simple/future-focused) and squares Mercury(tension, frustration, argument) by 9:04AM EDT. She goes void off a trine (brakes off) with Pluto thirty minutes later. The trine can be an easy release/elimination of what needs to go or maybe this is a smooth integration of power/authority.

She is void until 1:40PM EST when she moves into multi-tasking/communicative Gemini.

Now, we are nourished/nurtured through conversation, information, having lots of irons in the fire/balls in the air. We might be focused on errands, writing, reading, learning, children's school issues, sibling or local community, transportation or tech situations. She trines Mars at 5:40PM EST and then Venus at 6:27PM EST.

Air trines. Mental stimulation. Smooth conversations, lots of movement. Are these Venus and Mars first aspects since their move into Aquarius on Sunday? I think they are!

Good for sharing unusual/new ideas. Minds are open. This is logical/clever energy that is good for group exchanges. It's not the time for a big heart-to-heart/heavy conversation. Keep things light. Conversational. Future-focused. Use your head. Use humor.

There is alot of 'mental stimulation' here and not everything will be totally conscious.

Today's astrology forecast | Monday, March 7, 2022 - comfort day, talking about controversial topics and uncomfortable information

The Moon is in Taurus now, the sign of her exaltation.

We are nourished/nurtured by traditionally nurturing things - comfort, good food, the touch that feels like love. She meets up with Uranus at 1:37AM EST - these monthly meetings making us more comfortable with change/things outside that comfort zone - then moves on to sextile (opportunity for growth, expansion) Jupiter at 8:49AM EST and the Sun at 12:02PM EST. She squares Saturn at4:55PM EST (frustration with a delay, limit, rule, roadblock, responsibility) and sextiles Neptune at 11:02PM EST.

That lunchtime (EST) sextile to the Pisces Sun is this month's Waxing Sextile (growth opportunity) - Taurus/Pisces.

This is a calming/soothing energy if we aren't needing something done right NOW. What is drifting gets more grounded. What is stagnant can start to move/drift. Earth and water - making the dream real or adding some imagination/compassion to something that is stuck/solid.

After the War Goddess post HERE, I have decided to add their meanderings into these lunar updates. This is the day Mercury, fresh off those squares with the Nodes of Fate (are we moving backward to the old stuff that is dead or forward toward new growth), trines (brakes off) Black Moon Lilith in multi-tasking Gemini.

Putin, with his BML/South Node/Pluto conjunct is an old Lilith. Ancestral channel/past life. With Mercury/BML in a smooth energetic trine, uncomfortable information and smart conversations can flow. With Aquarius/Gemini, the key is to step back a little bit and keep words light/short/factual/future focused. BML's controversial behavior can be dealt with best through a wider/less personal lens. If something has grown too heated, a third party Aquarian type energy can help. On the flip side, if words have grown too detached/impersonal, now is the time to add some unorthodox facts/choices into the mix.

weekly astrology forecast | march 7th, 2022- March 13th, 2022 - more pisces and aquarius, less capricorn, a breather between last week's changes and next week's full moon

An easier week for most as the skies give us a bit of a reprieve and we begin to integrate everything that happened last week!

(yes, for once I am not writing 'this is an intense week' - changes though with Venus and Mars changing signs last Sunday and Mercury mid week - we are moving ahead!)

WEDNESDAY - Mercury into Pisces

THURSDAY - Vesta into Aquarius

SUNDAY - Sun conjuncts Neptune

On WEDNESDAY, Mercury enters Pisces.

Mercury ingresses from Aquarius into the sign of Pisces. Mercury rules our thinking, our communication, our ideas. He/she is considered in her fall/detriment in Pisces (because she rules Pisces polarity sign of Virgo). Virgo's Mercury likes things clear and concise - she wants B to follow A and is sure things would move more efficiently if everyone would just dot their i's and cross their t's.

Pisces (ruled by Neptune and ruler of our collective 12th house) is the space where rules/boundaries are more fluid. B might follow A. But just as easily A could drift right on past B. It is the space of imagination, universal love, our dreams, spirituality, our connection to each other through the ethereal realms and our emotions, the ways we escape, the things we do last, the things we put away, addictions, delusions, hospitals, prisons, addicts, victims, saviors, martyrs.

You can see how fast-moving Mercury could be a bit out-of-whack here.

So maybe our thinking slows down a bit. Our words drift off course. We started to say this and now we are saying that. The words that were so clear and crisp in airy Aquarius, don't come as easily because maybe we start feeling their impact on the other person now. Or maybe we start feeling like one of those old anti-drug commercials but instead of eggs - it is our brain frying on the sidewalk.

Details can be fuzzy. Our thinking might be, too.

With Pisces ruler of the last house of the zodiac maybe a conversation comes to an end now.

This is wonderful energy for artists, poets, musicians, meditation, spirituality, healing. With Mercury (ruler of Gemini) in this universal space our words can cast even more powerful S-P-E-L-L-S - keep this in mind. This is not such wonderful energy for to-do lists and more practical concerns, so double check communications. Re-read important papers. Give other people a break when their language isn't as concise as you would like it to be. When we just can't decide. Mercury in Pisces takes in so much universal information from the world that it becomes hard to take a singular stance. Our thinking becomes more intuitive. Cold facts are not so cold and hard decisions go limp. Lies might be spoken and take on a life of their own. That whole "alternative facts" thing applies.

It is the time to let our mental defenses down and just feel it. Or to guard against this very thing - depending on the situation!

We don't have to understand everything or figure everything out. Pisces dissolves. Pisces feels. Pisces is a water sign and heals through wetness - blood, sweat and tears (I would avoid the blood though if possible). If we want/need to cry, and even if it turns into one of those big old ugly cries that has our eyes all scrunched up two days later and people asking us what the hell is the matter - it's time to cry. You will probably not need me to tell you this though .....

If you really need to knuckle down mentally now it could be best to give Neptune some creative time - meditate, color, paint, etc, FIRST.

On THURSDAY,  Vesta enters Aquarius

Vesta, the energy of sacred devotion and absolute focus, moves from the sign of the past - Capricorn - into the sign of the future - Aquarius. Now, we have Venus, Mars, Saturn and Vesta in Aquarius and we have Neptune, Jupiter and Mercury in Pisces. Our Aquarius and Pisces houses are locked and loaded. With Vesta in airy Aquarius maybe things feel a little less personal. The fire that we need to keep burning is maybe a more universal flame than one in our actual living-room.

On SUNDAY, the Sun conjuncts Neptune at 22 degrees Pisces

Having the Sun conjunct Neptune while he is in Pisces answering to Neptune is not the same as having the Sun blow out a planet (in this case Neptune) by eclipsing him. Neptune is still strong here. I think we get the best of Neptune - the transcendence, without the mind-blowing bullsh*t. Our rose-colored glasses lose their rose-colored tinting while somehow still retaining their rose-coloring abilities. Does this make sense? An enlightened Neptune gets the solar light of the Sun. Illusions burned away. Clarity. Our big idealized dream is endorsed by the Sun. Something like that. Great for making art, meditating, healing, spirituality. This aspect can be exhausting though - get some extra sleep.

the astrology of the invasion of ukraine | part II - the invasion chart moves into early march, a change of focus, war of the Goddesses

Part I is HERE

At the end of the post I will recap the invasion chart and bring it up to date, but first I wanted to talk about the role of the asteroids/Goddesses in the Ukraine/Russia story.

It's obvious to everyone who isn't living under a rock (and I do sometimes feel I am living under a rock or want to find a nice big, smooth one, but still with some wifi access, of course, to hide under for a few hours) it is obvious we are living through extraordinary and challenging times. I know our ancestors did, too, and their ancestors, also, but our current journey into the New Age, the Age of Aquarius is, I think, rather special.

One way we have to explore what is happening in the world and in our own lives is through astrology - the study of the way the planets connect to the people and events here on Earth. The way our blueprints/birthcharts, that were created into physical form through us when we drew our first breath, actually work. This isn't fortune-telling and I am no fortune-teller. Astrology is a language - it's about using patterns and archetypes to tell the story, to see what makes things tick, explore what might happen, make our lives better.

I always think if a story can't be told through the main chart - sans all the centaurs and dwarf planets it is probably the wrong story. That is still true, I think, and THAT story was told in Part I and Part II is at the bottom of this post. But, the key to unlocking the REAL meaning behind so much of what is going on in these complicated times might be found in the dwarf/minor planets. Discovered with perfect timing and synchronistically named for Goddesses, they carry the ancestral stories of our grandmothers; the dominant female DNA codes - maybe that junk DNA, the scientists are not wanting to think about. This is why so much of the world is making no sense. We are having to learn to trust something we have been taught doesn't even exist.

Since part of the fall of the patriarchy/emerging of the equality of the Age of Aquarius is about the re-discovery and appreciation of the Goddess energies - let's take this pivotal moment and tell the story through the Goddesses and see if we can learn anything new.

We are going to tell this story/see this chart through Ceres (conjunct Russia's Sun), Juno (conjunct Ukraine's ascendant), Vesta (conjunct Putin's ascendant), Black Moon Lilith (conjunct Putin's Pluto/South Node), Pallas, and, of course, the one Goddess the patriarchy allowed us to keep, our own benevolent Venus (conjunct invasion chart's ascendant).

Mother bear archetype Ceres, conjunct Russia's Sun and very prominent in Russian historical event charts, is Mother Russia here. Ceres nearly destroyed the entire world to get her daughter Persephone back from Pluto, but in the end a complicated compromise was brokered. Ceres speaks of situations outside our control, season of life issues (what has run its course/whose time has come) and can also activate complicated concessions/successful settlements. Ceres is conjunct the North Node in the invasion chart and opposing the South Node - an important part of the story/way forward.

The Moon in the invasion chart (remember the Moon was Ukraine) has a sextile to asteroid Juno. Putin was having his Juno return, with Juno returning back to his birth position at the time of the invasion and Juno is conjunct Russia's Moon (her past) - Ukraine and Russia have deep roots.

With Juno EXACT on Ukraine's ascendant we can say Ukraine is Juno. Juno was a protector of the state, especially women and ruled marriage and contracts/cooperative arrangements, but also the things we don't want to look at too closely in order to preserve a contract or maintain our power through powerful allies or situations (because remember Juno was always needing to overlook hubby Jupiter's indiscretions to maintain her own position, she was Queen of the Gods, because of her marriage to Jupiter, the King of the Gods). Probably something in this about Ukraine's relationship to the Jupiter ruled United States. In the invasion chart we have Juno sextiling (opportunity) the Moon, but the Moon squaring Jupiter, Juno's hubby, who is ruling the Moon in this chart. Still, here is another powerful Goddess who isn't afraid to fight and has been known to cut a deal.

Vesta was at 22 degrees Capricorn WITH God-of-War Mars when the invasion started. There is a sacred focus here/THIS is where our attention needs to be, and this week she moves into Aquarius crossing the 'new world' degree. If Ceres is Russia and Juno is Ukraine, then Vesta conjunct Putin's ascendant is Putin in the Goddess War. Her move into Aquarius on the 10th can change his focus, move his attention from the past to the future. Maybe make things more cyber, but also maybe clear his head/thinking, allowing him to take things less personally.

Another important dwarf planet connected to Putin is Black Moon Lilith. She was at 24 degrees Gemini squaring Neptune. Putin has Black Moon Lilith on his Pluto/South Node, so her energy is strong in his past

(Putin has the same nodal axis, North Node 20 degrees Aquarius, South Node 20 degrees Leo - as Catherine the Great, leader of Russia during the American Revolution days, Pluto is back there now for the first time, AND Catherine had a BML/Sun conjunction. Catherine's real name was Sophie. We have two asteroids with this name, one tightly conjunct Putin's natal Venus, ruler of his natal Sun/Saturn and the other tightly conjunct his natal Pluto. Catherine was also rumored to be promiscuous in life and disrespected for it after her death - very 'Lilith-like').

Black Moon Lilith speaks of the first "Eve" ejected from paradise for demanding equal status with Adam and then demonized. "Liliths" are often vilified as 'evil'/wrathful women who need to be exiled when what is really happening here is that the patriarchy has no intention of sharing power. This treatment feels like part of Putin's story to me/ he feels exiled. Seeing Putin as a monster in this story isn't going to help anyone.

Pallas was in Aries in the 2nd house of the invasion chart sextiling the Moon. Pallas in Aries is a strong war Goddess. Strategic. Smart. Her waning sextile to the Moon (Ukraine in the invasion chart) shows some readiness/preparation on their part. And, of course Eris is still at 23 degrees Aries. Shaking up the world. Sedna, the transformational Goddess, is sandwiched between Ceres and the North Node. She speaks of not only what we can't depend on, but counting on things being better than they turn out to be. Conjunct Ceres, I am connecting her energy to Russia here.

And, of course, our beloved Venus, having tried to save the world with her back and forth through Capricorn is on the ascendant of the chart. IS the event in a way. Venus, at 21 degrees Capricorn, having been outplayed, for the moment, by war-God Mars at master number 22 Cappy. The number 21 is a power number, too, though. In the iChing it is the hexagram of 'biting through' - what needs to happen to get to the truth/get to the 'beauty'.

When we come to the time of 'biting through' - resting content with appearances may be easier, but it is no longer enough.

We will have to see where this 'biting through' event leaves the world.

Some of the other important hexagrams we can think about - Saturn at 18 Cappy is 'corruption' - this is the chart ruler/Russia. In ancient China, ancestors angered by neglect would send sickness and misfortune. This is corruption in the iChing which is something like a curse. This is echoed by last week's journey of Venus and Mars through the underworld of Pluto. As they move into Aquarius on March 6th - we could be said to be PAST the curse/the curse has lifted (the story continues to be played out, but the underpinnings of the story are dead). The Moon at 7 degrees is 'the army' - this is Ukraine. This hexagram follows arguing and speaks of crowds of people, energies and resources gathering around a focal point of grievance - the emotions that begin as indignation become an inner reserve of strength.

Venus is also Zelenskyy (unsure of spelling) with his natal EXACT Venus/Sun. Transiting Venus will conjunct Zelenskyy's natal Sun/Venus on March 12th with Saturn EXACT on his mid-heaven and a stellium in his 9th house of foreigners - HUGE time/spotlight for him.

Now, let's go back and recap the invasion chart and then bring the chart up to date and see what we learn. To recap:

At the time of the invasion Capricorn was rising over Ukraine. The ruler of Capricorn (the aggressor here) is Saturn, so we read this chart as Saturn is Russia. Saturn is about authority, the father, boundaries, rules. Saturn was in Aquarius in the 1st house. As the ancient ruler of Aquarius, he is strong here, and there was, at the time of the invasion, a bundle of planets in Capricorn and Aquarius answering to him. He is squared by Uranus - rebellion, individuals - and squared by the mid-heaven - the world, reputation. So, Russia is troubled by revolutionaries and the world at large, but he is strong in the chart. Not without his problems though with those squares.

The 7th house (opposite the ruler/ascendant) is Cancer, so the ruler of Ukraine is the Moon.

The Moon is about emotions, the mother, home, family, in mundane charts like these the Moon rules 'the people'. Both Saturn and the Moon are about the past, so we know already whatever is happening has very old roots. The Moon was in Sagittarius in the 10th house. The 10th house, Saturn's natural house is not a good place for the Moon. But Sagittarius pulls in fiery emotions, optimism, hope, faith, an ability to bond with foreigners, adjust to changing circumstances, the Moon's need for space if the Moon feels smothered. In Sagittarius the Moon is answering to Jupiter, strong in Pisces, his own ancient rulership. Jupiter pulls in Piscean help - ancestral help, prayers, compassion and Jupertarian help - foreign aid, hope, faith, etc.

The chart looked better for Saturn (Russia). The 'end of the matter' landed in Taurus which rules land/resources/money and answers to Venus, who was in Capricorn answering to Saturn. More 'Saturn wins' kind of energy. But what does winning mean in this nightmare? And Venus has already left Capricorn, so Saturn/Russia has already lost some advantage here. By April 5th, Venus will be in Pisces and answering to Jupiter (Ukraine). But that feels like a long time away for the people of Ukraine ...

Move the chart ahead to Sunday, March 6th - Venus and Mars join together - remember it was Mars getting past Venus on February 24th and tackling that uber HOT 22 degrees Capricorn ALONE (the degree Saturn met Pluto AND Ceres and Mercury and the Sun in January 2020 on the day China called the WHO and reported the virus had jumped countries, ie the definition of a pandemic, ie "houston we have a problem") that triggered this whole thing - at the very END OF CAPRICORN (end of Saturn) and they move into Aquarius TOGETHER. Then Venus moves PAST MARS, because she is faster than Mars and only ended up behind him in the first place because of her recent retrograde, as she was trying to save the world. Yes, again.

As they move into Aquarius, they cross over 0 degrees Aquarius TOGETHER, now this is the OTHER HOT degree from our world-changing 2020, this time from the end of 2020/winter solstice when Jupiter met Saturn and "the world started up again" (whatever our personal thoughts about the vaccines are, collectively we can think "vaccine" here). So, that 0 degrees Aquarius is now infused with this kind of imperfect and controversial "new world" energy, and Mars has NOT been here since that degree was activated. This week, Venus will be ahead of Mars (only by seconds, but that's all it took for Mars to do his job, maybe that's all it will take for Venus - when Venus pulls ahead of Mars is our first real chance for peaceful negotiations, prayers for an early end to this nightmare).

Keep in mind this degree was activated by JUPITER and SATURN and those are the planets ruling Ukraine and Russia in the invasion chart.

Maybe this week, as Venus pulls ahead and both Mars and Venus move into the sign of the future we will have some real energy focused on SOMETHING NEW. Cooler heads can prevail. Smarter. Future-focused. Yes, Mars in Aqua will likely pull in cyber warfare tactics, but Venus will get to everything before he does, which should make him less damaging/make whatever is happening somehow more helpful (keeping in mind energies seek balance and karma and are not so concerned with right and wrong). Venus wants to bring peace, cooperation, balance. And she rules the 4th house/end of the matter in the invasion chart, so we know this is how this ends, we just don't know when or what has to happen before we get there.

Before Mars and Venus join hands and jump into Aquarius, Mercury (in Aquarius) is going to square the Nodes of Fate. Mercury in the invasion chart was squaring Uranus and sextiling Chiron, so bringing challenging, (#unexpected,#not totally unexpected) news, that was both traumatic and at the same time also healing some very old wounds. Mercury in Aquarius is exactly squaring the North Node in Taurus and the South Node in Scorpio. Mercury rules the 5th house (which can be kind of reckless) and the 8th house (death, transformation) of the invasion chart, so words/information are going to be crucial/tense/frustrating.

Some kind of corner must be turned before Mars and Venus move from earth into air (Cappy to Aqua). Let's pray this leans into Taurus, the North Node and chart's 4th house of family, home and country prioritizing that and not stay stuck in that Scorpio 10th house of reputation, competition, the cold-headed/cold-hearted terms of winner-take-all capitalistic 'success'.

On March 9th, Mercury moves into Pisces, the 2nd house (money, resources, self-esteem) of the invasion chart, so those dwindling resources as the result of the invasion will be more strongly felt. Talked about. Taken into consideration. Conversations/negotiations can drift off course. But maybe words can become more compassionate. Boundaries loosen.

On March 10th, Vesta is going to move into Aquarius - the future will be more strongly valued than the past now. What lies ahead of us/the new world (she crosses 0 degrees Aqua here, too) is keeping us up at night, becomes our sacred focus instead of worry about the old world/old goals. Remember Putin IS Vesta in the Goddess chart, so his focus can change now.

On March 12th, Zelenskyy's chart is getting lots of attention - transiting Venus on his Sun/Venus, followed by transiting Mars with Saturn on his mid-heaven (recognition, effectiveness) AND Saturn on Putin's North Node (destiny).  Big week here as this stuff builds, hits and unwinds.

We will have to see what the week ahead brings. The weekly for all of us is HERE

Back with Part II of the U.S. Pluto return chart this week.

venus moves into aquarius and mutual reception with uranus - change is good

On Sunday, both Venus and Mars will ingress into Aquarius. Then they meet on MONDAY.

After that meeting, Venus picks up her pace, starts pulling ahead of Mars.

(maybe next week is when peace talks/reconciliations can happen in Ukraine or if we get past this with no progress, maybe it will be after Venus gets past Uranus on the 22nd - we will likely have some kind of mid-month crisis before peace if that is the case - or when she meets Saturn at the end of March. There are multiple opportunities in March, some better than others. I am going to look at the charts this weekend for Russia/Ukraine, but benevolent Venus catching up with and then getting ahead of warrior Mars on Monday/Tuesday SHOULD HELP).

Venus has been in Capricorn, due to her long retrograde, since NOVEMBER, so we will surely personally feel this shift from earth into air. For some situations, things can lighten. A little more breathing room comes in. A higher perspective is available. Cappy is intense and goal-oriented and Aqua can toss some of this off.

For people with fixed planets/points, things can start to feel MORE intense/tighten up/the pressure building as Venus and Mars move into the sign that puts them on their direct path to their clashes with Uranus - ruler of Aquarius - and meetings with Saturn - ancient ruler of Aquarius.

Venus and Mars (like Mercury has done and is doing) pull the Saturn/Uranus square back into play through them. The old vs the new.

The squares with Uranus comes first - Venus on the 19th and Mars on the 22nd. Change can't be avoided, but impulsivity maybe should be.

Let's look at Venus.

As she moves through Aquarius she will make contact with not only any planets/points we have in Aquarius (here is where Saturn comes in at the end of March), but also the planets/points we have in Leo (by opposition), in Scorpio and Taurus (by square - here is where Uranus in Taurus comes in at the middle of March and here is where the Nodes of Fate come in around the time of Saturn) and other planets, too, through degree (by sextile, etc).

This is where knowing our natal chart can come in handy.

As a collective influence, for all of us, Venus moves out of Capricorn (the rules) and into Aquarius (the space we let go of the rules).

Beautiful Venus drops her briefcase full of "shoulds". She takes her hair out of its tightly constructed bun and shakes her head. She kicks off her too-tight, office-ready pumps. She wears whatever she wants to wear now. She can do whatever she wants to do now. There is no one to impress in this new space. There is no one to answer to (except there kind of is, and here is where astrology is helpful because we know she will meet up with daddy Saturn at the end of the month).

Now subconsciously we all feel this - a kind of relief as Venus disentangles us a bit from what is required of us to be 'acceptable'. Maybe we start to notice (attract) things we would have otherwise missed. The strange and unusual will catch our eye now. We will be attracted to things/situations/solutions/people that are different. Ruled by unpredictable Uranus, Aquarius is the space that is hard to forecast. When we step outside the rules (Uranus is outside Saturn's boundaries) our outcomes become less predictable, too.

And, this isn't just an average year with Venus leaving Capricorn after a few WEEKS for Aquarius. This year Venus has been in Capricorn for MONTHS.

She has been through Pluto (death/rebirth) THREE times. She brought us Omicron to take out Delta (omicron announced as Venus reached 22 degrees Cappy "time runs out" for the first time), she has calmed Mars down (he sneaked past her on the 24th as he, Mars himself, crossed "time runs out" and  Russia moved into Ukraine).

I would suspect she, as 'we', is tired, not always a bad thing - a world-weariness born of both success and loss. She has been humbled, but has also proved herself. I doubt she is taking any sh*t.

Between now and until she gets past that tense/frustrating square to Uranus mid-month (change/the future) there will be this building PRESSURE TO CHANGE. The things that cannot stay as they were - Venus in Cappy has just died and been reborn three times people! - just CANNOT stay as they were.

And you will know if you are still carrying this 'dead' thing/situation.

You will feel the weight of its lifelessness.

This doesn't mean we have to make some impulsive break (sometimes it does), but something has to change. In Aquarius we can step back a little bit, SEE the situation more clearly. Apply logic/intelligence. With Mars, by Venus's side, it will be easier to take SMART/NEW ACTION. Also, to burn a bridge we might not want to burn, so be careful. But not so careful that dead thing/situation gets dragged into our meeting with Saturn at the end of March because by then things are getting shored up, better to make the change BEFORE that cement gets poured. You can see where I am going with this.

The square to Uranus mid-month is challenging.

Venus/Uranus detaches us from what we once thought was valuable/beautiful/what we once loved.

This might not sound like a good thing, but HERE is a good thing - Venus in Aquarius is answering to Uranus and Uranus is in Taurus answering to Venus. This mutual reception means both planets have access to their own energetic signature.

The change isn't as upsetting as a typical Venus/Uranus might be. Doesn't need to land us on our ass. The change - which Uranus MUST EVOKE in us - brings Venus back to HERSELF/Taurus where she is VERY STRONG. The change brings new value - new resources/money/relationships/love. The change brings new beauty. Now, in Taurus which is fixed earth, the good stuff grows over time, but we can KNOW the change is bringing us good stuff over time.

When these energetic portals open (a Venus/Uranus square is a portal) TIMELINES SHIFT.

Sometimes we are standing at a portal with many available timelines and sometimes we have painted ourselves into a corner (or maybe fate is very insistent we get on with something) with only one way forward - and sometimes this way 'forward', is yes, side-ways or backwards. This one in Aqua is most assuredly forward/new, though.

Life knows what it's doing.

Anyway, I am going to get to the Russia/Putin/Ukraine charts this weekend, but wanted to toss this up.

Fixed people and placements - Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius placements - are back in the sauce. This isn't a bad thing. It's just different.

When the world needs change desperately the fixed folks are called into action because here is where change can create SEISMIC shifts (cardinal people are always starting which is a kind of change and mutable people are always changing, which is, well ...change). It's the fixed energies, the people and places and situations that hold everything together that are standing at that timeline that's been painted into a corner.

For example, hubs, an Aquarius fellow, started a new job this week. He had a business for 20 years and since the pandemic has now had a longish gap, so hasn't had a job in a very long time. It's been hard. The new job and giving up the life he made without it. Not bad, he says, but hard. These are the kinds of changes I would expect to see. Hard, but not bad. Themed around our Venusian and Mars situations and bringing gifts that are more visible as time goes on. We'll talk more about Mars in the weekly.

March is a BIG month. April is BIGGER.

Back with the charts for Russia/Putin/Ukraine this weekend and then the week ahead.

new moon in pisces | march 2, 2022 - a lucky and liberating beginning, real changes to the order of things, reality checks, karmic endings, the new dream, watering our own roots

What a chart! Look at all the planets/energies TOGETHER (no wonder life on planet Earth is so intense!) - all the inner/personal planets are in conjunctions, connected tightly with other planets/energies and three are EXACT TODAY.

Have I seen this before? NO. Conjunctions bring results and also start new cycles, so although today is a New Moon monthly cycle (Moon/Sun) it ALSO kicks off other new cycles - a Mars/Pluto cycle, a Venus/Pluto cycle, a Mercury/Saturn cycle and we have a Sun/Jupiter new cycle starting on Saturday and Venus/Mars on Sunday! What magic is this, folks?!

On Wednesday, March 2, 2022 - the Pisces Moon meets the Pisces Sun at 12 degrees giving us this month's New Moon, the final New Moon of our astrological year - our annual New Moon in Pisces.

Pisces is a mutable sign. The mutable signs prepare us for the change into the next season and this Moon really has her work cut out for her! New Moons are the time to set new intentions and working with Pisces themes (and the theme of your Pisces natal house) NOW allow the natural energies to flow with us.

All beginnings are endings, too, and since Pisces collectively rules our 12th house of endings, Pisces new beginnings sometimes have more to do with the ending. Maybe something needs to be forgiven/dissolved/discarded/fully grieved. And something wants to START. Think seeds into the ground. A new chapter.

Time to dream BIG!

As the Moon naturally waxes (grows) over the next two weeks, and over the next 6 months until the Pisces Full Moon, so does whatever our intentions have set into motion - thoughts becoming things/our words energetically lining us up with what we are seeking, which is, of course, as Rumi said, "seeking us right back".

Besides the monthly lunar energy of "new beginnings" this particular Moon has its own relationship with the other players in the heavens based on its position. That is where the real juice of any particular New Moon can be found.

Now let's unpack the chart!

The Moon is conjunct the Sun at 12 degrees Pisces. The Moon/Sun conjuncts Jupiter (who is conjunct asteroid Nessus) - this aspect is applying and STRONG. Jupiter is the ancient ruler of Pisces making this aspect even stronger/more Piscean. Pisces modern ruler Neptune is also in Pisces - so Pisces is where the buck stops for this one. The New Moon is sextile (opportunity) Uranus in Taurus.

At the same Mercury is conjunct Saturn EXACT and we can see that powerful EXACT lineup in powerful Capricorn - Mars, Venus, Pluto and asteroid Amycus. Uranus is squaring Juno and Juno is sextiling Chiron.

The sextile to Uranus speaks of liberating opportunities through change. The future is reaching back to meet us.

The conjunction to Jupiter speaks of expansion, hope, luck. What makes Jupiter lucky? Well, believing we are lucky for one thing. Optimism. Confidence. Believing in something bigger than ourselves. Having faith. Taking something further. Going out on a limb. Jupiter tells us we can't be playing small with whatever we are starting here. We need to be playing a bigger game to get the most from this energy. We need to RISE to the occasion.

The fly in the ointment with Jupiter, and this is amplified in Pisces, is taking things too far, thinking things are too good/too big. What's the difference between 'big' and 'too big' - well, that's the part we need to figure out! Delusions, exaggerations are possible, so we need to keep one foot on the ground now. Asteroid Nessus on Jupiter might also bring a warning of relying on or trusting untrustworthy people/situations.

Luckily for us, and this isn't usually what we would call a 'lucky' aspect, we have Mercury's annual powwow with Saturn going on RIGHT NOW.

Foot to the ground needed? Well here is that nail through our sneaker (I hope you are wearing some old shoes for this one).

After Mercury's back and forth through Cappy, here he is with daddy Saturn, ready to 'seal the deal'. This is a REALITY CHECK. Limit. Responsibility. Commitment. Maybe we have to say "no" or hear a "no". News can be challenging. Saturn conjunctions can bring endings/results - we talked about how Pisces New Moons can be more about the 'ending' and this is kind of doubling down on this. So, maybe this is speaking of something that has gotten too big or elusive/escapist and at this Mercury/Saturn there is a need to face reality/trim it back.

Or maybe we are taking on a new responsibility/making a commitment we are ready for. In this case, the Jupertarian New Moon can really bring in luck/expansion.

Juno has just sextiled Chiron - a healing through giving our relationships/contracts a little more space and now she squares Uranus EXACT. This speaks of a curve ball tossed into our relationships/contracts. The Moon's sextile to Uranus will help integrate changes, show us the opportunity here.

FOR EXAMPLE - let's say you are a SCORPIO RISING with a 5th house Pisces - the NEW is coming into your house of creativity, self-expression, children, romance, fun. The change, that will likely connect to this new beginning is coming through your 7th house - other people, a partner. The reality check is coming to your 4th house of home and family, this is likely connected in some way to the changes with/through a partner, open enemy or contract, but may not be. Or let's say you are a VIRGO RISING with a 7th house Pisces - the NEW is coming into your house of partners, partnerships, contract - something here is starting. The change, that will likely connect to this new beginning is coming through your 9th house - growth, expansion, stepping outside your comfort zone, foreign people/situations, travel, education, legal issues, religion. The reality check is coming to your 6th house of your daily routine/obligations, your health, your work. This is likely all connected, but sometimes speaks of different things.

The lineup in Capricorn is bringing intensity to our relationships and finances and our careers. Maybe our attention to authority, father figures, world events. Our actions are sober/serious/goal oriented. With Venus/Mars on Pluto, and Pluto not only being Pluto, but also ruling the South Node now (what we are releasing) there is the opportunity through this New Moon energy to UNLOAD very old ancestral/past life/childhood karmic baggage regarding the way we value ourselves and other people. The way we do relationships/mirror. The way we work with resources and money. The way we show up in the world.

At the same time this Cappy stellium is bringing real changes to the order of things collectively and personally. This is all part of our progress into the Age of Aquarius/the unraveling of the Age of Pisces.

Avoid intoxicants because life will be intoxicating enough this week. Get enough rest. Our nighttime dreams can be intense, too. A Pisces New Moon will often be tinged with release/nostalgia.

The Moon's most  important and tight aspect is that conjunction to expansive Jupiter. Something is wanting to GROW. Someone is going to get lucky. And with Pisces, this can all work backwards too. Change we set into motion now impacts our past, past lives and previous generations.

Can we water our own roots with a little Jupiter/Neptune magic? Damn right, we can!

NEW MOON INTENTIONS

This is an excellent time for energetic support to make changes with things ruled by Pisces (and our Pisces natal house theme!) including our imagination, art, music, the past, compassion, releasing our victim stories, releasing self-sabotage, healing our ancestral wounds, healing addictions, spiritual healing, spirituality, meditation, sensitivity, trust, escapism, our lymphatic system, colds, our feet, toxicity.

AFFIRMATION TIPS: get into a positive frame of mind - meaning both happy and certain - a quiet, clean space where you can be alone - write your affirmations down by hand in script, speak them out loud - then let's release our attention from these things knowing that your intention is known.
