A peek at december 2021 and then ahead to 2022 | things fall apart so things can fall together

 

I might need to pivot away from the weekly/dailies toward more big picture stuff for the rest of the year to get everything covered and so we can start looking at 2022!

 

For now, let's take a peek at some of the bigger December energies.

 

The year goes out with a bang folks!

DECEMBER 1st - Neptune stations direct. Good news for Pisces people, especially Pisces risings since Neptune is your chart ruler,  and those with Pisces planets/placements. Neptune has been retrograde in his home sign of Pisces since the end of June. His direct movement will green light creative projects, our imagination, spirituality, charity. Clarity can return, or depending on our Pisces placements, illusion/delusion can grow stronger as Neptune strengthens. The key to working with Neptune direct is to release our grip on whatever is falling away/dissolving and the current will begin to pull us forward.

 

Since Neptune/Pisces rules viruses we will have to see what happens near this date. He is already still/stationing as I write this on the 26th of November, so we are in the 'confusing' part of the Neptune station.

DECEMBER 4th - Solar Eclipse New Moon in Sagittarius (12 degrees) - our final Eclipse of the last 18 month Sagittarius/Gemini cycle - this one on the South Node. This can bring a culmination/the final word on a matter or be more about the new start the ending ushers in. Much will depend on what we have learned from the last 18 months and how we have applied those lessons. We will talk about this in a BIG post this week.

DECEMBER 18th - Full Moon in Gemini (the Moon at 27 degrees opposes the Sun in Sag) - the Sun conjunct the Galactic Center makes this an important Full Moon - the first we've had in Gemini in 18 months that hasn't been an Eclipse. The Galactic Center - center of our very own Milky Way Galaxy - is our homing signal/portal to other galaxies. So, the Sun here is bringing in new/alien information that is "unknown" - it's not a coincidence the Galactic Center sits in late Sag - a space of hope/optimism/taking some risk because in Sagittarius we can't be "sure"/we deal with wisdom/philosophy rather than facts. We have to go on faith. So, the Sun's light is on this "unknown" data - and people with planets/points near the Galactic Center will be getting 'downloaded' with this as the Moon - because remember the Full Moon is a lunar event - is opposing with the information/facts/details. It is interesting this Full Moon is coming after we finish up the Sag/Gemini Eclipses and have released old beliefs that are no longer working. Here are the seeds of new beliefs - through that Galactic Center activation - even as the Full Moon in Gemini closes out a Gemini story that started last June. This Moon is making nice to the Moon in the U.S. birthchart - so helpful to 'the people' and will be making a semi-sextile to the U.S. natal Pluto, on course for its first return to its natal position on 2/22/22. We will talk about this Full Moon in a BIG post.

DECEMBER 19th - Venus starts her 40 days and 40 night retrograde through Capricorn, stationing retrograde conjunct powerful PLUTO - their exact conjunction is December 11th and they have another meeting on Christmas Day with Venus retrograde. December 19th is also the day Chiron stations direct (retrograde since the middle of July). So, now we are re-assessing what we love/value. In Cappy, no doubt our careers/the work we do. The way we work with and step into our own authority. What we need to feel stable. Keep in mind, Cappy is not fast moving energy, so much of what we are doing now may be about planning/laying foundations. I will write a BIG post about this one.

We want to keep in mind that one month from now - on January 18th - the North Node will move into Taurus and start answering to Venus. This retrograde is helping us get our ducks in a row/get clear on what matters - before the next 18 month Taurus/Scorpio nodal switch.

DECEMBER 24th - Saturn makes his third of three exact squares to Uranus in 2021 - here is the year going out with a BANG. Saturn is direct, Uranus is still retrograde. This one is 11 degrees Aquarius vs Taurus. Again, this is the old vs the new. Responsibilities to the group/status quo vs personal values/liberty. This transit has impacted almost everything that has happened in 2021. Both collectively and personally. And keep in mind this is happening with Venus conjunct Pluto. Finances could be impacted. Expect a BIG post.

Note on January 1st - the year's first aspect - we have the Sun (in Saturn ruled Capricorn) trining (brakes off) Uranus, so something from today could smooth out a bit then as our Cappy house theme, a space we naturally tend to be more traditional/stable/patient is pulled into this square. 

DECEMBER 28th - Jupiter enters Pisces! Now our Pisces house is where we are getting lucky. We attract that luck/those opportunities (as always with Jupiter through hope, optimism, faith, taking some risk) through Pisces - our imagination, compassion, intuition, prayer, our ancestors/our past lives. Sometimes with Pisces a sacrifice is required. We will have to watch any tendency to self-sabotage through escapist habits/addictions/self-deception, but, with Jupiter being the ancient ruler of Pisces, we will all benefit from this transit. Also Jupiter gets out from under Saturn's thumb for the first time in two years, and Neptune (Pisces ruler) is direct by now, which will surely help. Note - this is going to be a FAST transit. You might remember, Jupiter dipped his toe into these waters in 2021, so this is actually a second pass through some of these degrees. Jupiter will be in Aries by May and then return to Pisces during his retrograde from October 28, 2022 until December 20th for us to go back and mine the Piscean opportunities we missed the first time through!

2022 - some highlights ...

JANUARY 18th - the Nodes move from Gemini/Sag to Taurus/Scorpio. Expect a BIG post this week. We'll talk about how to prepare and what to expect. This is an 18 month transit. The South Node in Scorpio is our past, but also where we are now. Living with death/rising from our sweaty deathbed sheets. Living through a tremendous transformation. Merged monies/debts/inheritances that are not working/strangling people. Intimacies that have outlived their expiration dates. With Scorpio we have the shadow of control and jealousy and normalizing taking on too much that can fuel greed. Scorpio is complicated. Taurus - answering to Venus - is appointed our North Star (guiding light) and keep in mind, Venus is retrograde when this cycle kicks off, so the past is very much the future at this point. 

 

Taurus North Node means we will be prioritizing our physical bodies/physical senses, quality over quantity, our relationship with nature, valuing simple over complicated, what we already have over what someone else does, our food, resources, money. Mother Earth - Taurus ruled - will have something to say about this transit, too. I am reminded of my grandmother's advice about prioritizing everything that comes between you and the Earth - this will include your shoes, your mattress, the tires on your car. Fixed earth practicality. Valuing ourselves and our physical existence. 

NOTE - this is also the day of the Cancer Full Moon opposing the Sun/Pluto conjunct in Cappy, as Uranus stations direct and just hours before the Sun moves into Uranus-ruled Aquarius and crosses that WORLD STARTS UP AGAIN - 0 degrees Aqua from January 2021. Mercury will be retrograde and moving through Aquarius backwards at this point. 

 

Oh my.

 

FEBRUARY 16TH AND MARCH 6TH - 2022 will have TWO Venus/Mars conjunctions (due to Venus's retrograde). Their first meeting will be in Capricorn and their 2nd meeting with Venus direct will be at 0 degrees Aquarius - the HOT degree from the very end of 2020 when Jupiter met Saturn and the world started up again. Mars is exalted in Capricorn and Venus gets along well with Cappy ruler Saturn, so likes Cappy, too - this is fresh new energy, independence, the future. Looks good.

FEBRUARY 17TH - Jupiter sextiles Uranus - days before the exact Pluto return of the United States, this is good news, too. Out of the blue LUCK. Unexpected expansion. The future is calling. This can be good news for people with planets/points near 11 degrees Taurus and with all the changes they've been through with Uranus, they most decidedly deserve it.

FEBRUARY 22nd - the first exact pass of the United States Pluto return - BIG post coming in early December about this one. Venus and Mars will be conjunct the TIME RUNS OUT Cappy degree of January 2020 (home of U.S. natal Narcissus), the North Node will be EXACT on Algol (malevolent fixed star, post coming about his connection to algorithms ie how are thinking is being controlled) and conjunct Sedna as well as the U.S. natal Wuhan/Pandora conjunction (also Trump's mid-heaven and Kamala Harris's natal Jupiter and Facebook's Jupiter/Algol/Sun 10th house trifecta). The North Node will also be on the degree of November 2021's FIRST Taurus Lunar Eclipse. Lots of the Asteroids will be active.

 

APRIL 12TH - Jupiter meets up with Neptune in Pisces. Pisces ancient ruler and modern ruler join together in their own sign.  There is a chance for something to go terribly wrong (delusion, addiction, escape) or TERRIBLY RIGHT. We are going to have Saturn squaring the Nodes on this day, too - so big turning points/crossroads. Mars will enter Pisces a couple days later with all this still in play and we'll have a Full Moon in Libra ramping everything up.  

APRIL 30TH - New Moon Solar Eclipse 10 degrees Taurus as Pallas enters Taurus. Note - Mercury will station retrograde between these two Eclipses (he will station direct on June 3rd at 26 degrees Taurus - the HOT eclipse, Algol/algorithms, Pandora/Wuhan degree, Sedna). MAY 16TH - Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, 25 degrees Scorpio, opposing Algol, as Ceres enters Cancer - Ceres could be, at least the co-ruler of Taurus one day, so we'll keep an eye on her during the Taurus/Scorpio Eclipses of the next couple years. 

JULY 13TH - Full Moon in Capricorn conjunct the still HOT "time runs out" January 2020 degree, 21 Cappy. 

JULY 31ST - Uranus meets the North Node, at 18 degrees Taurus and opposes the South Node at 18 degrees Scorpio. BIG CHAOTIC PUSH INTO THE FUTURE. We'll talk about this in a BIG post. We really need to be valuing ourselves here/knowing what matters/have our feet on the ground here. We want to be keyed in to what supports us. To what really matters as we move through 2022. Earthquakes, environmental issues that force change? Or is this when Facebook launches their Meta-verse? Big connections to their chart with this one (plus all the Taurus hot degrees surrounding Algol/algorithms/controlling our thinking). Me thinks (while I still can, sort of), since authority seems more intent on reining in our freedoms than big tech's use of algorithms we had better get some grip here ourselves, before Saturn leaves Aquarius in early 2023.

OCTOBER 30TH - Mars is going to station retrograde in Gemini at 25 degrees (conjunct Kamala Harris's ascendant and Trump's Sun) and move back to 8 degrees and then turn around on January 12th, 2023 and start moving forward. Since he will back and forth across almost the entire sign and activating lots of Eclipse energy from the Gemini/Sag cycle, this is a VERY BIG deal. Why do I keep mentioning Trump here? Isn't he yesterday's news? Well Jupiter (good luck/expansion) is conjunct his North Node (fate) on Election Day 2024 - and Trump's North Node is sandwiched between his Uranus/Sun conjunction (Sun rules his chart) in his 10th house of career. We'll need to keep an eye on him, too, as we move through this BIG year for the United States.

 

Then we come to the 2022 fall Eclipses, yada, yada, I am getting WAY too far ahead of myself now. 

We will unpack all of these in their own posts - starting with this week's BIG Eclipse, Venus's retrograde over "time runs out", the final Saturn/Uranus square on Christmas Eve, Jupiter's journey through Pisces (YAY for this one) and the incredibly CHALLENGING/OPPORTUNISTIC, with an emphasis on opportunistic, mind-bending astrology of 2022. 

 

Because these energies aren't just empowering the future/tech/science (for better or worse) as the patriarchy crashes and burns - these energies are empowering US. 

We are also going to talk more about the asteroids. The planets are almost all masculine archetypes. All the asteroids/dwarf planets, mostly feminine energies and truly, truly pregnant with new possibilities - are fragments of culture/our personal stories woven into the strands of our DNA to be activated as they are discovered and synchronistically named. There are thousands of them. Is it any wonder life is more complex than ever?! 

 

We either bust every telescope on the planet - would this work? Probably not - or we learn to flow with the changes of universal consciousness/sometimes chaos. 

 

For the United States one important question is - how do we move into a more equal and humane culture with this myth/dark cloud of American exceptionalism hanging over our heads. Probably we can't, so along comes our Pluto return just in the nick of time. Kaboom. Obama, Trump, Biden, our relationship to "the other"/scapegoats, the virus/our responses and their ramifications disrupting our Capricorn second house perception of who we are, what is valuable/what matters, what goals are important, how we maintain and support ourselves and others. 

 

It's surely time to pivot, personally and collectively, but still tangled in the dead cords of the old world we are unsure what that would look like and what that even means, but if we don't do something different we are going to feel more and more empty. Yet, we think -  because all we remember for lifetimes and lifetimes is this patriarchy/hierarchy of naked emperors that once supported us - is that if we can only get things to be more stable/more like they used to be, we will be ok. 

 

Would it surprise you to learn this would not feel ok even if we got it?

 

Anyhoo, it's Sagittarius season, I've had way too many sweet potatoes and to quote Helen Keller, "life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all". We are all here together in this experience for a reason, folks. We have to have faith. We have to keep moving. We are building a new world, but some of the materials we are needing haven't even arrived yet, so let's take a breath. 

 

Tomorrow Mercury meets the Sun - this is a culmination point within our Sag house, surely something comes to light/dawns on us here. On Monday we have a lovely Libra Moon sextiling the Sun - excellent for cooperation, balance - and Mercury trines Chiron, Mars trines Neptune, all kinds of smooth energies. Looks like a good way to start the week.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Friday, November 26th, 2021 - long void moon, healing very old familial wounds, deciding what stays and what goes, not a day to shop til you drop

 

 

The Moon is finishing up in Leo this morning (EST) - we are nourished/nurtured through romance, recreation, children, generosity, following our heart. She goes void at 11:23AM off an opposition to Jupiter. She will be void until 9:12PM EST when she moves into Virgo. 

 

The Sun is at 5 degrees Sagittarius now and conjuncts Vesta (both answering to Jupiter who is opposing the Moon). The Sun meets Vesta starting a NEW STORY. Our focus shifts. Broadens. The stuff that is keeping us up at night maybe feels more opportunistic/less tragic. We can see the blue skies if we look for them. 

 

At the same time, the Sun and Vesta move into an opposition with Ceres who is retrograde at 5 degrees Gemini. Here a story is ending/energy is culminating. 

 

Ceres in Gemini is re-working/re-thinking nurturing, mothering, change of life situations, situations where we feel out of control through conversations, information, dealing with the details. The Sun/Vesta opposition brings a culmination/ending to a mothering or season of life situation. This is a Sag/Gemini opposition - our hopes/ideals/optimism vs intellect/information/facts. So maybe Vesta in Sag is showing us our devotion to some ideal (idea about what mothering should look like or this new phase of life should look like) is in contrast to what is actually needed. Or maybe Ceres in Gemini's style of teacher mothering needs a shot of something more adventurous.

(this is making me think of the many Thanksgiving celebrations in the U.S. this weekend which has activated the Saturn/Uranus square through the Leo Moon - some people struggling to hold onto traditions, because stability/traditions are what we are made of - personally I dangled from the rafters to hang some holiday lights I hadn't hung in years - and some people only too willing to find reasons/excuses to let traditions go because more than tradition they are needing change/needing freedom - and all of us are really both these people ... neither is right or wrong ... just the way we are making our way through this year's challenging energies as we decide what stays and what goes/what we are made of now/what we want to bring with us - also notice today is the exact Saturn/Chiron sextile this year's other BIG repeat aspect, not a coincidence folks)

 

The way through today's struggles is Saturn (at 8 degrees Aquarius) sextile to Chiron in Aries. This has been in play off and on all year.

 

This is a BIG repeating aspect this year as we heal by taking responsibility and working through group challenges. Grown-up actions/words. Big girl/boy pants on. Being responsible. Stepping into our own authority. Connecting with elders. Being patient. Not taking things so personally. Anytime Chiron is triggered we can feel vulnerable. In Aries, fears of not being able to take care of ourselves are activated, but the smooth and opportunistic connection with a strong Saturn in Aqua tells us the way to handle our triggers is not to turn away, but to take care of our responsibilities and those that connect us to other people/our groups/causes/and the goals that bring us together. Very old, very deep wounds are being healed.

Keep in mind today's long Void Moon ability to provide twists and turns and then nothing comes of these things anyway. Stay flexible. Probably NOT a good day to make important purchases - things might not work out as planned with them. Plus that Moon/Jupiter opposition will encourage overspending/excess.

 

Better to use the Moon/Jupiter for optimism/adventure. Time with the kiddos or your creative projects.

weekly astrology forecast for creatives | November 22 - 28th, 2021 - the eclipse spin cycle, the past is brought to our attention, a crossroads, important information and conversations

 

 

This is a BIG Sagittarius week. 

 

The Sun has just moved into Sag where he is very happy to be out of the Scorpio intensity - feeling expansive, wanting to explore, travel, take some risks, know what he's talking about/be seen as wise. Mercury is going to join him this week, as ruler of Sag's polarity sign of Gemini, Mercury is not so happy here as his friend the Sun. Still Mercury, through us, will be able to see the blue skies in the distance he might have missed while looking through the darker/more complicated lens of Scorpio.

 

The Sun and Mercury will separately cross the South Node of the Moon (the past) opposing the North Node of the Moon (the future) and then meet up to talk about it.  

 

Choices, crossroads, nostalgia. Endings.

We are in between two powerful Eclipses. The eye of the storm that feels less cray-cray, but with that feeling of electricity in the air like after a storm that isn't finished with us yet.

 

Last week's Taurus Lunar Eclipse pulls us into the next 18 months (some of us kicking and screaming as our North Star/focus begins to shift) - situations NOW are giving us a kind of preview of that. 

 

Next week we have the FINAL Sagittarius Solar Eclipse and the last 18 months begin to wrap up. See my posts about that transit HERE. Collectively, in the United States, we finished up the Leo North Node back in 2018 having elected a "king" of sorts with an obsessed media focused on him, the Cancer North Node back in 2020 hunkered down in our homes and, it looks like we are polishing off the Gemini North Node - divided/localized/split in two. Sounds about right. We always seem to go out with a bang.

Let's take a look at the week ahead!

We talked about MONDAY - here.

On TUESDAY, the Sun at 1 degree Sagittarius meets the South Node and opposes the North Node. This is our attention/a light on our past. Old opportunities/beliefs/ways we once grew. People and situations from the past are spotlighted. The Moon is finishing up in her home sign of Cancer, making smooth trines to Mars and Neptune (good for action/imagination) and once again going void off her faceoff (opposition) with powerful Pluto (power struggles, things feeling like life and death). This is the Moon's soft space to fall and facing DEATH every month at the end of her visit home, is there any wonder we are all so emotionally wrung out? 

 

We could be at a crossroads, making a decision between the old/comfortable and the new/untested. What isn't working might be right in our face. The key with these particular nodes is to keep things small and manageable and local (when the North Node gets into Taurus in a couple months we are really going to want our lives to be less complicated, so keep that in mind now, too), look at facts and figures and details. Ask questions. Thinking we know is going to toss us off course/make things harder. Stay flexible. Small steps. Small conversations. See what comes up.

On WEDNESDAY, Mercury enters Sagittarius. 

 

The ruler of our mental life, our thinking, communication, the process and physical means of getting things from point A to point B, our local environment, our siblings, commerce, our tech - coming up from the depths and obsessions of Scorpio and moves into the "sky's-the-limit" space of Sagittarius which sounds like good news even if Mercury doesn't really want to be here.

The scope of information available to us broadens. All the little details we have been immersed in during Mercury's transit through Scorpio fade from view a bit. It's like we have applied a wide angle lens to our camera. There is more to see (know), but less to specifically look at. 

 

If we have used his/her (our) time in Scorpio well we will be more than ready to come up for some air!
 

Sagittarius (ruled by Jupiter) is optimistic energy. So those big bodacious ideas will carry us further now. People will be thinking and talking BIG. Making BIG plans. Using BIG persuasive, language. It's a good time to sell your "whatever it is", but also a good time to be sold a bill of goods. Keep in mind that words and information could mislead us as our focus moves away from those pesky details (still important with the North Node in Gemini, so keep that in mind) and onto the larger landscape.
 

Sag's mutable energy is boundless and stretchy. This can be a good thing. Sometimes a very good thing. But it can also have its drawbacks. The fly in the ointment - always a fly in there even as the weather grows frosty - is a kind of over-estimating/over-confidence/exaggerating/know-it-all/preachiness, and, of course, not seeing the trees for the forest. Damn flies. 

 

Sagittarius is the great teacher/sage and rules wisdom and philosophy. Sagittarius season is a good time to take something we are interested in to a higher level. Sagittarius rules our collective 9th house (plus the house in your chart with Sagittarius on the cusp) so communications and information could focus on 9th house themes - legal issues, foreign issues, higher education, travel, religion, weddings, politics, the media, marketing. The United States is consumed with legal cases as the Sag South Node wraps up and Sagittarius season begins. 

 

Our personal Sagittarius houses, with both the Sun and Mercury in town for a visit, are really waking up now!

On THURSDAY, Mercury opposes the North Node. 

 

Now Mercury is following in the Sun's footsteps, doing what the Sun did on Tuesday. We are talking about what we have seen/what's come to our attention. More information is coming in. Choices. Decisions. We are likely to be busy. Even our errands are showing us who we are/what we want/what we are made of/where we are NOW. This is part of the Gemini/Sagittarius nodal cycle of the last 18 months reaching its conclusion. This week will include IMPORTANT INFORMATION and conversations. Or maybe it's the conversations we aren't having that are standing out to us/shaping the future. Maybe we are going over the details of the past. An old situation/story. People from the past can show up this week for a chat. We could be feeling nostalgic. This is Thanksgiving week here in the United States - maybe people are coming back together after a long time apart. Maybe some won't be. Maybe some holidays have been changed forever. Communications can bring endings - and keep in mind every ending is actually a beginning, too. 

 

During Eclipse season doors are opening and closing all over the place!

On FRIDAY, Saturn, at 8 degrees Aquarius, sextiles Chiron in Aries. The Moon squared Chiron at the beginning of the week (ouch!) showing us our vulnerabilities and now we have a nice healing sextile to daddy Saturn - being practical, responsible, stepping into our authority/dealing with authority and father figures is healing. This is Aries/Aquarius, so feels a bit like Monday's way through (the Uranus sextile) - being ourselves, detaching a bit, not taking things too personally, looking toward the future. Keep all this in mind - your mind is ruled by Jupiter now, it will hold quite a bit and stretch as you need it to.

 

On SATURDAY, the Virgo Moon is going to square the Sagittarius Sun at 5 degrees. This month's Last Quarter Square before next week's New Moon. The Moon in Virgo is nourished/nurtured by the details, by getting it right/organized. By practicality. Her exactness is challenged by the Sag Sun's need to explore, feel/see a larger landscape. The Moon in Virgo's goal is to fix it/figure it out, but we can get lost in the sauce here - too many details and we lose sight of the big picture or get ourselves stressed out over unimportant things. Optimistic and adventurous, the Sun is fiery Sag will overlook the details/be annoyed by Virgo's fussiness, but sometimes take things too far. This is a square so tension/frustration between the details/reality and the big picture/the way we want reality to look. This could show up as simply as we need to work/attend to things and want to play/go and explore. These signs are mutable/adaptable - we can figure this out. The Moon in Virgo will feel safest with routines, rituals, boundaries, but we need the Sun's energy to feel alive. We can't have an adventure and keep all our ducks in a row at the same time. Some ducks want to wander. Adjustments are needed.

 

On SUNDAY, Mercury meets up with the Sun at 7 degrees Sagittarius. After both planets crossed over the South Node (a spotlight on the past) while opposing the North Node (a culmination point here with the future/maybe a crossroad) they have a lot to chat about.

 

Information comes to light/a conversation/communication/our thinking that points to a culmination and then starts a NEW STORY. Maybe here is an answer/result. Where do we go from here? Happening during Eclipse season gives the Sun and Mercury's superior conjunction - which takes us back to October 9th when they met while Mercury was retrograde in our relationship sector - added OOMPH. 

 

Maybe more Oompa Loompa than just Oomph - cue Willy Wonka.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Monday, November 22, 2021 - detaching from what hurts

 

 

The Moon is home in Cancer now. We are nourished/nurtured by home, family, mom and apple pie. She squares Chiron in the afternoon and then sextiles Uranus at 10:58PM EDT.

The Moon in Cancer is sensitive/vulnerable or maybe moody/needy. The square to Chiron in Aries triggers tension/frustration/painful wounds around being ourselves, being able to take care of ourselves, having to stand up for ourselves, our Aries house theme. 

Ouch. 

The follow-up sextile to Uranus speaks of the way through any touchy situations - detach, focus on the future, do something different, don't take it so personally.  

 

We are in the Eclipse spin cycle (in between two powerful Eclipses) in Sagittarius season with the South Node in Sag and the Sun moving over that South Node on Tuesday followed by Mercury on Thursday then they meet up with each other at the end of the week. BIG endings/information/conversations.

the meaning of the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus | Friday, November 18th, 2021 - the eclipse spin cycle begins!

 

On Friday, November 19th, 2021 at 3:57AM EST, the Taurus Moon will oppose the Scorpio Sun at 27 degrees - giving us this month's Full Moon, our annual Full Moon in Taurus. Happening so near the Moon's nodes gives us a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse (partial).

Taurus is ruled by Venus and rules our collective 2nd house of everything money can buy and everything money can't. She rules finances, love, stability, security and comfort. She rules our values, our resources and also represents Mother Earth. Taurus energy is nurturing - it brings us back to ourselves. On the flip-side, Taurus can also represent fear based/scarcity thinking when our security is threatened (real or imagined), focusing us on all the reasons something we want to do won't work or all the reasons we can't have what we want. Taurus energy is stubborn (like the bull) or passive (like the cow).

We either own it (whatever "it" is) or it doesn't belong to us.

Like all Full Moons, this is a Sun/Moon opposition. The Sun is in deep, dark, transformative Scorpio and the Moon is in earthy, grounded Taurus. Full Moons represent fullness, peak power, endings - that moment of our breath when our lungs are full just a second before we begin to exhale. 

With Scorpio, something hidden is brought into the light (Full Moons bring things to light, but with Eclipses some things are still hidden, so there will be things we won't know with whatever we have going on). Eclipse events are fated. We could feel a loss of control with whatever is going on. What we value might feel threatened. A situation could be stimulated involving our use or avoidance of power. With Taurus, we turn toward the present moment - what already exists. Can we appreciate/take solace in what we HAVE? We move closer to what brings us comfort now - nature, food, touch, our physical senses.

Now, let's unpack the chart! 

 

The Moon in Taurus opposes the Sun near enough to the Nodes of the Moon to give us a Partial Lunar Eclipse. This is the first Eclipse of the Taurus/Scorpio axis that starts in December (in two weeks we will have the LAST Eclipse of the Gemini/Sagittarius axis that is finishing up). So this Eclipse has the potential to be a kind of 'kick off' point for the new axis which will be in effect for 18 months - we will be focused on making life more simple/changing our VALUE SYSTEM (what we value and how we feel valued) and burying what is dead/moving away from what is too complicated/paying off our debts.

 

Lunar Eclipse Full Moons are different than regular Full Moons because they are happening on the Moon's South Node - the Moon is full but the Sun's light is blocked by the Earth. So although things are still concluding and 'coming to light' other stuff is hidden, too. Nothing is exactly as it seems. Eclipses are cosmic course corrections. Things get eclipsed out or out of our way. 

Like a computer being rebooted after a change to its operating system - we get a RE-SET.

The time in between these two eclipses (the next one is in two weeks) is kind of like being in our washing machine spin cycle. It's not the time to take out the wash unless we want a soggy mess. Stuff isn't finished. We have to let the machine (the set of eclipses) do its work.

So, if you can, save the big-bodacious moves until after that second eclipse in two weeks. Let things unwind a bit. Let's let the Eclipses work their magic first. See where the washing machine spits us out and what we have to work with. Plus we'll be clean and smell like fabric softener sheets without polluting the planet and our immune systems by actually using them.

 

The Taurus Moon reaches fullness at 27 degrees Taurus. This is TIGHTLY conjunct fixed star Algol - considered by some to be the most malevolent star in the Milky Way Galaxy (sounds like fun) and also interestingly enough the name of an early (first?) computer language/program that initiated 'algorithms' (started in 1958 and published during the mega Aqua conjunction of 1963 - a time famous psychic/astrologer Jeane Dixon stated would be the birth of the Anti-Christ). Not saying Algol/algorithms is the anti-Christ consciousness, but I'm not saying it isn't either. Interesting (slightly out-there and not religious) post about all that in the works.

This is also tightly conjunct the degree of the United States natal Wuhan/Pandora conjunction in the 6th house of health/work and EXACTLY opposing Biden's natal 12th house Sun (the transiting Sun conjunct his natal Sun) with Mercury on his natal Mercury, Mars on his natal Mars, the South Node on his Ascendant, North Node on his Descendant/Uranus conjunction of "the other" (!), asteroid Wuhan opposing his natal Narcissus, too much to list. BIG stuff happening for him and with the ruler of his Scorpio planets in his 8th house of death/transformation that looks physically challenging for him, keep in mind his chart is all about 12th and 8th houses death/endings plus that Uranus Descendant (the U.S. also has a natal Uranus/Descendant)  - Biden bringing us "the other" - and for the United States now and over the next 6 months as this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse plays out and we move through the United States first ever Pluto return.

The Full Moon squares Jupiter in Aquarius. This is waning/unwinding. This is in the past, but near enough to the Eclipse to still be in play. This might speak of a big opportunity. Or maybe something not quite so grandiose that we have somehow exaggerated/caused to balloon out of proportion. With Jupiter ruling the South Node and Vesta EXACTLY conjunct the South Node, maybe an old hope/faith/wisdom/what we BELIEVE is being shaken up. Or maybe our NEW focus/devotion (that Sag house) is causing challenges/tension or maybe it is - keeping in mind this is a Taurus Eclipse - something about the way we OWN what we OWN that needs to shift. Also the empty leg of the Taurus/Scorpio/Aquarius T-Square landing in Leo, reminding us of the need to stay in our heart, shine brightly, bring ourselves to the world and hold for the world what we came here to carry.

 

The Moon trines Pluto making whatever is going on more intense/feel like 'life and death', but also more able to EMPOWER us if handled correctly. I know many people who have had surgeries/important health tests this past week.

The Moon is conjunct asteroid Sedna who can bring challenges, especially health challenges or situations where we have been 'cut off' from stability/what we used to know or count on - particularly when we've ignored what we 'didn't want to know'. This might also be looked at as repeating that separating square to Jupiter - an opportunity to create lemonade from lemons or maybe something that looked much better or worse than it actually was/is.

 

Venus, ruler of Taurus and so ruler of this lunation, is in Capricorn and trining Uranus EXACT. She is also applying to a sextile to Mars. Both smooth aspects. That trine to Uranus speaks of change/progress/the future. The NEW is being set up. The sextile to Mars speaks of serious/focused action. 

 

New money, new values, new relationships, new beauty, new self-esteem. 

 

Venus is walking her upcoming retrograde shadow now and we will be back here two more times. Whatever this is, it won't be all squared away until next year. We have been mentally preparing (North Node in Gemini) the last year and a half for the physical changes of 2022 and 2023 and starting with this Eclipse we will begin to physically EMBODY the changes.

To bottom line this one, and although I used to be a banker, I really hate bottom lines - this is a POWERFUL portal for a timeline shift. 

An extremely potent one. 

This will influence the next two weeks, six months, 18 months and even 18 years. Although this is a partial Eclipse it is a VERY long Eclipse. And this is the FIRST Eclipse of the upcoming Taurus/Scorpio nodal axis and the way something starts is the way something goes. 

Often during Eclipses we are making very serious decisions - or the people around us are - or very serious situations are playing out. 

This is the first Eclipse of two, so hold on loosely. Stay flexible.

Venus is in sober Capricorn and ruling this Eclipse, so take care of your responsibilities, treat people respectfully - yes, even people you don't agree with, a world full of people who agree with us would suck big-time, trust me on this - focus on what you love/value/what matters most. With Venus in Capricorn until the end of year we will be working to make Venusian issues MORE STABLE. 

Mercury (in Scorpio and opposing the Full Moon) is trining Neptune - kind of dissolving our Scorpio obsession/focus. Taking the bite from our words, but also the certainty from our minds. Certainty is so 2019 anyway, right?  This is good energy for heightened intuition. Prayer/meditation/imagination is powerful. The right words come to us. Just stay away from narcotics and alcohol because the effects will be greatly heightened.

 

Balance your books. Organize the money in your wallet. Get/give a massage. Take a bath. Bake some bread. Hug a tree. 

The next Eclipse in two weeks will be a BIG one, too, and pull us back to the Gemini/Sag North and South Node axis of the last 18 months for one final BLAST - minds will change/old beliefs and old judgments must be released.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Wednesday, November 17th, 2021 - explosive change, power struggles and breakthroughs

 

 

The Moon is in Taurus now - the sign of her exaltation. We are nourished/nurtured by more traditionally nurturing things - a warm bed, a soft touch, good food, security, time spent in nature, time spent with what/who we value/love, all the good stuff money can buy and all the good stuff it can't.

 

The Moon is challenged though, busier than a Taurus Moon likes to be. 

 

She squares Saturn at 1:19PM EST, trines Venus (ruler of Taurus) at 7:38PM EST,  meets up with a retrograde Uranus at 9:44PM EST and opposes Mars at 10:20PM EST. Oh my.

 

At the same time, fiery Mars (in Scorpio) has moved into his (once every two year) opposition with anything-can-happen, future focused, but chaotic Uranus - currently retrograde in Taurus. This is a release valve on some heavy duty pent up sh*t. THIS IS BIG. Oppositions, are like Full Moons - and keep in mind we have the Taurus Full Moon in two days and within this lunar cycle - they bring a cycle to peak energy, and sometimes to a conclusion. 

 

The Mars/Uranus opposition takes us back to the Mars/Uranus conjunction (meeting) on January 20, 2021 (this was Biden's inauguration day in the United States, so something now is in a way a culmination of his Presidency). If something BIG was going on in your life at that time, most likely some part of that story or a similar story is happening now - this week/last week/next week. 

 

Sudden changes/breakthroughs are possible. With Uranus retrograde, there is something #new, unexpected, but also #not new, not unexpected about this. Stuffed energies are made explosive under skies like these. The resulting dynamite can blow things up - (keep in mind the permanence of Plutonian landmines) AND also uncover hidden valuables/old gold.

This is one of multiple opportunities in November to TAKE OUR POWER BACK.

With Scorpian energy pulled into the mix situations involving power/control/intensity/obsession/something that has felt like life and death are possible. Also literal Scorpio themes - taxes, insurance, merged money, other people's money, intimacy, sex, reproduction, third party situations, the theme of your natal Taurus and Scorpio houses.

Collectively something now might bring a reminder (in our face because Mars makes things personal) of what we have given up for safety/security/comfort and what this extra emphasis on safety, this avoidance of surprise/change, something we NEED for aliveness as much as stability, has brought us in terms of the deadening of human experience. Remember the point where 'time runs out' is BEHIND us. We are past the point in the game where we always died before. This doesn't mean we can't still die, because guess what, we were always going to die. This whole year and most of next is all about the Saturn/Uranus square. The old vs the new. Responsibility vs freedom. What will we give up to be safe? What will we give up to be free? And it is easy to lose sight of the ways freedom has never been really free and that taking responsibility doesn't mean passing the buck to some greater authority and then blinding following their rules. This is tricky stuff. Not black and white. Life isn't for sissies anymore. It never was. 

Anyhoo, today's Saturn/Moon/Mars/Uranus (people with planets/points near 12 degrees of the fixed signs will probably be feeling this strongest) might speak of control issues coming to a head. What we can control and what we can't is visible to us. Uranus brings break-ups, break downs and breakthroughs. Earthquakes. Surgically excising what is no longer needed. Again, the only trine - smooth flow - is to Capricorn (Venus) - big girl/boy pants on (which means us taking responsibility for our actions/choices), being serious with what we love/value, taking responsible action. Our natal Cappy house theme giving us somewhere to GO.

Something else to keep in mind because we talked about this year's Saturn/Uranus square (which is applying now) is that this year's other big repeating aspect is applying, too. Saturn sextile Chiron. This is Aquarius/Aries - always an opportunistic combination, but now housed with Saturn/authority/stability and Chiron/wounds/healing. The meeting ground between both the collective/group (Aquarius) and the individual (Aries). The meeting ground for freedom AND responsibility. The way through the Saturn/Uranus being through Aries. The individual. Courage. Initiative. Taking care of ourselves. Standing up for ourselves. Being ourselves.

Drive safely. Be precise. Don't toss babies out with dirty bathwater. This is POWERFUL energy to make real and lasting (permanent) change. These are fixed signs/dug in and sometimes we have to be/feel backed into a corner to take the action that needs taking. Just keep your finger off the trigger unless you really want to kill something. Because you just might.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Tuesday, November 16th, 2021 - an intensity of purpose

 

The Moon continues her journey through Aries. We are nourished/nurtured by passion, action, anger, starting something new, initiative, time alone, time spent with men.

 

She makes an opportunistic sextile to Jupiter at 8:55AM EST (good for expansion, group situations), inconjuncts the Scorpio Sun and goes void by 10:50AM EST off a challenging square to Pluto. She will be void until 9:18PM EST when she moves into Taurus the sign of her exaltation and home to Friday's first eclipse of the season and precursor to our upcoming (18 month long) Taurus North Node. 

The inconjunct to the Sun is this month's Waxing Inconjunct. 

 

One final adjustment before Friday's Full Moon. Scorpio/Aries. Mars was the ruler for both these signs until the discovery of Pluto, and they form a natural rock and a hard place like two similar/dissimilar sons. Aries is the energy of starting. It's impulsive/wants to move. Cardinal fire. Scorpio is fixed water. Focused/deep. Slower. Deliberate. 

 

So maybe we are needing to move quickly with something or maybe we are pushed to go deeper/merge/purge. Adjustments are required. Nothing is totally settled here/nothing works perfectly. Scorpio's modern ruler is Pluto - and that late morning square kind of colors the day with power struggles, obsessions, manipulations, something that feels like life and death.

The way through this emotional pressure is today's Sun/Pluto sextile at 24 degrees of Scorpio and Capricorn. This aspect will allow us to tackle the Moon/Pluto challenges. We are more determined/ambitious/able to do things that are messy. Things we might not really want to do, but that have to be done. The competing Plutos will give us an intensity of purpose.

 

This is also the day Vesta (what we reverse/hold sacred/dedicate our energies to/what keeps us up at night) moves into high-flying Sagittarius. She will be here until the middle of January when she joins Venus in Cappy (big post on Venus's upcoming retrograde will be up soon). 

 

In Sagittarius, Vesta's focus WIDENS. She brings our attention to bigger-picture issues. Wisdom, faith, truth. Having her out of Scorpio will help those whose focus has become too dark or too obsessive (the Sun's move at the end of the week will help, too). The fly in the ointment here is when "truth" becomes fanatical. We believe it, so they must, too. Vesta's extreme focus creates "tunnel-vision" and maybe we don't allow ourselves to question/swerve/be curious. The last 18 months with the South Node in Sagittarius has shown us how well any kind of "know-it-all/preachy" thinking/doing/being works - to cut right to the end of that chapter as the world splits right in two - it doesn't! 

 

Legal issues, foreign situations, education, politics, religion, your natal Sag house theme all become more of a focus for the next couple months.

For today, let's see if we can take advantage of the Sun/Pluto sextile. The Sun is answering to Pluto now, so really powering this one up. Our power/focus/certainty increases. We are blending the light and the dark. The known and the unknown. We can step into our power/authority without triggering the typical resistance from others. Keep in mind we still have the Moon/Pluto square and that long Void Moon to make things wonky and stressy, so let's avoid needing to show/prove how powerful we are in any kind of dark/manipulative ways. Play to your Capricorn. Avoid Darth Vader-y moves/situations.

 

With Pluto in realistic Cappy and running the day, whatever you are doing, make it something PRODUCTIVE.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Monday, November 15th, 2021 - warts and all

 

 

This weekend was a productive blur and when I sat down to write the weekly tonight I realized we have major aspects EVERY single day. Alot is going on! We are building all week to Friday's first Eclipse of the season - a Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse in Taurus - our first Taurus Eclipse and maybe a preview of what the North Node in Taurus (December 22, 2021 through July 12, 2023) -  will be cooking up for/with us. 

For now, let's talk about Monday and then I will do dailies plus a BIG Full Moon Eclipse post where we'll also talk about the upcoming nodal shift - wake up Taurus and Scorpios, we're looking at you!

On MONDAY the Moon is in Aries. We are nourished/nurtured by passion, action, anger, starting something new, initiative, time alone, time spent with men. 

 

She will sextile Saturn at 1:59AM EST and move on to meet Chiron and square Venus at 4:05AM EST. 

 

The Moon (our emotions, our lunar story) is pulled into and AMPLIFIES one of today's BIG aspects - Venus at 8 degrees Capricorn squaring Chiron at 8 degrees Aries. People with planets/points in the cardinal signs near 8 degrees will be feeling this aspect strongest.  

 

Squares with Chiron are triggering/painful.  

 

The Moon, as us, is feeling all the ways we aren't enough. Maybe old fears around being able to take care of ourselves/stand up for ourselves or be ourselves. Then Venus, meeting up with the Moon and squaring Chiron pulls in our relationships, money, career, values, self-esteem. Situations conspire for us to feel what we are lacking. Support, money, approval, etc. Our insecurities/vulnerabilities are felt/visible. Old wounds, older than we are, are triggered. 

 

Ouch. 

At the same time the Sun at 23 degrees Scorpio is squaring Jupiter in Aquarius. People with planets /points near 23 degrees of the fixed signs will be feeling this one strongest. Any Sun/Jupiter portal can bring an ego boost/confidence/pride/luck. We just want to be careful, and I know I always sound like your grandma warning of dragons and DOOM, but, still we need to be careful not to overdo something. Physically hurt ourselves (that Moon in Aries can make us prone to rushing or acting impulsively). Over-promise. Exaggerate. Count chickens that haven't hatched yet. The Sun in Scorpio can help us stay focused and avoid scattering this energy, but Jupiter always has a tendency toward more being more. 

A mixed bag kind of day. We've got that early sextile to Saturn (an ease through being responsible, taking things seriously, doing our job) and we have the Sun/Jupiter - although this one is a square, Jupiter is still generosity and luck - so, we'll have some kind of bandage for what hurts. We feel the pain, won't be able to avoid dealing with our vulnerability/insecurity, but we'll have somewhere to go with this - Sun/Jupiter, Scorpio/Aquarius - we shine through generosity, adulting, stretching a bit, being a real person warts and all. 

 

Also keep in mind the Venus/Chiron is cardinal (wants to start/seed something), Venus is about to start working her repeating/retrograde Cappy degrees, the Moon is waxing (growing) and in "let's START" Aries - what needs to get going? what needs our action/passion?

On MONDAY, Pallas stations direct at 9 degrees Pisces squaring Ceres retrograde at 9 degrees Gemini who is sextiling Chiron at 9 degrees Aries.

Pallas changes direction, HERE is the Pisces wisdom/pattern we missed/new compassionate, imaginative or spiritual strategy. She immediately squares Ceres, retrograde in Gemini. The Pallas/Ceres is a repeating aspect from early October. Ceres in Gemini is smart nurturing, bringing a kind of open-minded curiosity to change of life/season of life situations. Pallas in Pisces is intuitive, going with the flow, but also maybe seeing patterns when they aren't really there or letting things kind of drift too much, so we've got this tension/frustration between our intuition/dreams and the facts/the details. 

 

A way through this one is that sextile (opportunity) to Chiron in independent/action-oriented Aries from Ceres. Smart nurturing/action, our ability to stay flexible/detach a bit emotionally and apply a smart focus to the details is healing (the Moon is in Cappy making oodles of good aspects, so taking things seriously/getting down to business will help, too). 

 

TUESDAY - UPDATE - the Moon in Capricorn will sextile the Scorpio Sun at 12:06AM EST, sextile a retrograde Neptune at 6:00AM EST and goes void off her monthly meeting with Pluto at 12:51PM EST. She will be void until 10:03PM EST when she moves into Aquarius. 

The sextile is this month's Waxing Sextile - Capricorn/Scorpio. This is good, pro-active energy for making headway with goals/projects/finances. Our New Moon seeds are growing. We are taking action. The sextile to Neptune puts us into flow with our dreams/intuition and her meeting with Pluto - our monthly lunar "death" - brings merging/purging/transformation and rebirth. The Moon in Capricorn is practical/counting her cans of beans and dollars in the bank. Her monthly "death" allows these little chinks to be slashed in the armor of thousands of years of patriarchal conditioning  around what we have been made to believe is practical/brings stability. Ideas about hierarchical necessity, Darwin's survival of the fittest (which really meant our ability to change/adapt and has somehow morphed into ideas about strength and power), the ways culture has changed through the worship of one male God/the Sun/Son, our need to be controlled, so we can be kept from doing wrong. This is personal and collective and Pluto is slow and relentless. A little emotional Cappy burial every month followed by a rebirth, always followed by a rebirth. We get a long void, so GET THINGS DONE EARLY (and Pluto has been late enough in Cappy for long enough that we've had many of these "deaths" followed by voids) - time to process what we have worked through - and then the Aquarian lunar cycle begins. The rebirth being more intellectual/less attached/more future leaning. Once the Moon gets into Aquarius she starts applying to all these Scorpio squares and her square to Uranus in Taurus and Thursday's square with the Sun, so our time in Aquarius will not be without its challenges/tension.

As always don't start anything new/important during the void - unless you want nothing to come of it - stick to routine matters and things you 'do all the time', so you won't have to do it all over again later.

WEDNESDAY - UPDATE - the Moon continues her journey through Aquarius - we are nurtured/nourished by intellectualism, our individuality/freak flags, our genius, revolution, our groups and causes, the goals that bring us into connection with other people, the strange and unusual, space/freedom/having room to think.

 

She squares Mars at 10:54AM EST, squares Mercury at 11:08AM EST, meets Saturn (Aqua co-ruler) at 11:14AM EST and finally squares a retrograde Uranus (Aqua's other co-ruler) at 7:45PM EST. This is all, uncannily as the Moon is apt to do, reinforcing what we talked about in the weekly below. Challenges. Obligations. Uncomfortable news/information/conversations/actions. The key here is the same, too - working with Saturn. Being responsible. Having patience. Doing the grown-up thing/using your grown-up voice. So, say for an example, an unexpected bill comes in. And it doesn't have to be unexpected, but it will be frustrating/produce tension. You will need to live up to your obligation with it. You can't just toss it in a drawer and go back to sleep. 

 

Remember this is a repeating aspect that started back on October 30th when the Sun squared Saturn, then repeated on November 4th when the Moon (in Scorpio) squared Saturn. So whatever is going on now can connect to whatever was going on back then. People with planets/points near 7 degrees of the fixed signs will feel this strongest. Today, this is number 3 of 3 - we have Mercury and Mars meeting and squaring Saturn while the Moon squares them and meets Saturn (Ginger Rogers doing what Fred Astaire does backward and in high heels). The Moon, being in Aquarius and meeting up with Saturn is SUPPORTING US. Whatever these limits/obligations/roadblock is her merger with Saturn gives us the emotional strength/fortitude to move past the block. Not by cutting corners or throwing in the towel, but by being smart, not taking things personally, being future focused and sober/responsible. This month in Scorpio is about stepping into our own authority/our own power - these transits are part of that.

 

OK - the lunar stuff above I have added Tuesday night - here's the regular weekly post for WEDNESDAY.

 

THIS IS A BIG ONE. 

 

Mercury, meets Mars at 7 degrees Scorpio while they both square Saturn - remember Mercury is doing what the Sun did a few days ago, but now he is joined by Mars to add to the INTENSITY. Or we could say Mars is doing what the Sun did and he is joined by Mercury.

 

This looks like restrictions on what we can say/hear/access/think and at the same time increased attention to what needs to be said/done. This combination of aspects is making me think of the television series "Succession". Is anyone else watching that one? People can be demanding. Rules won't budge. There could be arguments. The positives of Saturn can provide an outlet here, although this stuff will be done with our back against the wall - knuckle down, do the work, be responsible, have patience. All this Scorpio is asking us to take our power back by doing the inner work/stepping into our responsibility/becoming an AUTHORITY. 

 

Apply more discipline - I know that doesn't sound sexy, but it is what will work. 

 

Keep in mind this is dangerous energy - drive safely, take care operating heavy machinery - only you can prevent forest fires. You know the drill. Also, keep in mind, Scorpio is intense/raw BUT isn't fast - although Mercury will speed things up and Mars IS flying, we still don't have to make ourselves nuts and rush around and make mistakes.

 

THURSDAY - the Moon at 19 degrees Aquarius squares the Scorpio Sun giving us this month's First Quarter Square. This is tension/frustration between merging and detaching. The independent/individualistic Aqua Moon speaks of the the need to step back from what has been absorbing our time/attention/resources. Get some air. It's time for a more intellectual approach. This could be a trigger for this weekend's "surprise" energy, so something could come out of the blue now. 

 

FRIDAY - UPDATE -  the Moon is void until 2:54AM EST when she moves into magical/mystical/delusional Pisces. As we see over and over, the lunar activity supporting/reinforcing the day's big aspects. She makes a beautiful/opportunistic sextile to Venus in Cappy (love, money, our values and self-esteem, our goals, career, authority) at 3:17PM EST, followed by a smooth trine to Mars in Scorpio (our actions/passions, merged money, intimacy, reproduction, third party situations). 

At the same time the Sun at 20 degrees Scorpio - answering to Mars and Pluto - trines Neptune at 20 degrees Pisces - here is smooth flow, something falling into place. We just have to let go of the need to control the outcome! Get out of our own way. Scorpio goes deep and Neptune dissolves/fades. Something could get more intimate/more compassionate. Here is us taking action on our dreams. Neptune, as these outer planets are apt to do, has been hanging out at 20 degrees Pisces for so long that people with planets/points near 20 degrees Pisces are probably feeling like they are being erased! This will be a nice influence for those planets/points now, a light shines on what you carry here. Something DEEPENS. Passion is felt. Action is taken. Our intuition/creativity is HIGH. This is transcendence, spiritual, universal love. Mars is also trining Pallas now - adding to our ability to navigate the Piscean waters with wisdom/intuition.

The caveat with smooth aspects to Neptune/Pisces is always our ability to get lost in the sauce, float off into lalaland, sleep/Netflix the day away, have one drink that leads to another to another. Keep this in mind.

 

SATURDAY - UPDATE - the Moon continues her monthly journey through imaginative/healing Pisces. She trines Mercury (remember this is the day Mercury opposes Uranus) at 12:22AM EST, sextiles Uranus (retrograde) at 1:43AM EST, meets up with ruler Neptune (retrograde) at 4:45PM EST, trines the Sun at 7:18PM EST and will go void early Sunday morning, 12:39AM EDT off a productive sextile to Pluto. 

The trine to the Scorpio Sun is this month's Waxing Trine - Scorpio/Pisces. This is emotional flow. Here we are feeling the next leg of our New Moon story. Again the Moon is offering us support with the day's big energies. As Mercury and Uranus oppose each other, she is trining one and sextiling the other - both smooth flow, so we know whatever happens there is a path through this/a greater hand guiding the ship. Our intuition/internal guidance can be trusted. Meditation. Prayer. Time spent near/in water can help. Our ancestors are helping us now.

 

Mercury at 12 degrees Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus. Here is ANOTHER chance (we talked about this in last week's New Moon post) to TAKE OUR POWER BACK - also a chance to say/hear something abrupt/shocking. Burn a bridge. Toss a fit. Scorpio can be deadly, and Scorpian changes are permanent, so keep that in mind. Also note today's lunar aspects will help.

 

On the other hand, these November oppositions to Uranus are opportunities for necessary power struggles when power balances can FLIP. They are cosmic opportunities for BREAKTHROUGHS. A brilliant idea can pop right into your head.

 

Mercury/Uranus speaks of unexpected information/a conversation, maybe around whatever came to light last week when the Sun opposed Uranus. Here is an answer. Or an abrupt conclusion. Maybe we change our mind. Here are WORDS THAT WAKE US UP. Words that set us free. With Mercury in Scorpio - secrets, hidden information, the stuff we have to dig up, uncomfortable truths can come out. Uranus is retrograde, so this is #unexpected, #not-totally-unexpected. Conversations will be intense. News challenging. Results permanent. Oh my. 

 

Keep in mind, we get one more go at these "opportunities to take our power back/surprise/breakthroughs" as Mars opposes Uranus next week.

Also keep in mind, that I am writing about aspects when they are most exact, but they are in play as they apply and unwind also. This is a big week, next week is big, too. Challenges. Opportunities. It's why we're here folks.

the astrology of the New Moon in Scorpio | November 4th, 2021 - disruptive change, evolving through the shadows, truth bombs, danger Will Robinson, liberation, pushed to shift gears

 

On Thursday, November 4th, 2021 at 5:15PM EDT, the Moon meets the Sun in dark, deep, powerful and intimate Scorpio, giving us this month's New Moon - our annual New Moon in Scorpio. 

 

The New Moon in Scorpio is an excellent time to commit (Scorpion energy is fixed and committed) to goals that express the POSITIVE use of Scorpio energy. Focus. Courage. Passion. Plutonian Scorpio learns and grows through loss. We go down into the underworld, and in the end, it's not so much about what we have brought back with us as it is about what we have left behind ....

Scorpio rules our collective 8th house of intimacy - of other people's values, other people's money. Here is where we take the time to understand other people's motives. It's through the constructive traits of Scorpio - focus, resourcefulness, passion, probing, deep perception - that we experience real intimacy. We merge with other people physically and materially. Scorpio is our only fixed water sign. It's potent energy for making deep changes.

Like the New Moon in Scorpio in October 2019, the Moon and Sun are exactly opposing disruptive Uranus, so we have our annual Sun opposing Uranus (unexpected shake-ups and changes) coming at the same time as the New Moon in Scorpio's powerful and transformative NEW BEGINNING. 

 

With Uranus retrograde and covering old territory, there is something not totally new or not totally unexpected about this disruption. Uranian oppositions can make other people/outside situations feel more distant/more impulsive or unpredictable.

 

The New Moon looks like a new beginning (in the dark, so lots we don't know right now) birthed from an unexpected and possibly chaotic and jolting shock/change/liberation. This could be INTENSE. 

 

Let's dive right in and unpack the chart!

 

The best thing about this New Moon is we have Mars, the co-ruler of Scorpio (along with modern ruler Pluto) back in his home sign just in time to rule this lunation from a place of passion/power. Mars in Scorpio is all about FOCUSED ACTION. Concentration. Courage. Think of a scorpian's fast sting that can take out a much larger opponent. Being able to move/take action as needed. This is NOT about jumping into something foolishly, propelled by anxiety/anxiousness, but it IS about not hesitating to act when action is needed/the time is RIGHT. 

Pluto, Scorpio's modern ruler, is direct now, still at 24 degrees Capricorn, so covering old ground. He is quintile the Moon/Sun conjunction and the focus of a T-Square with Eris and Mercury.

The Sun is just coming off his square to Saturn at the end of October - the stop sign/road block/reality check/responsibility - which will be reactivated now and from November 6th - November 10th in some BIG ways (when the Moon will meet Saturn and square Mars, who will also be squaring Saturn) and then near November 18th, Mars is going to hit today's New Moon degree setting whatever is seeded NOW into ACTION.

Scorpio New Moons often bring up unconscious fears/truth bombs. We are meant to face them and step into a higher level of our own power. At the time of a New Moon, the Sun and Moon are on the same page, ready to begin TOGETHER. But this month we have the planet of change/the future/genius/chaos opposing this new beginning. This might show up as something outside of us FORCING us to make a new move/decision/emotional change. Over the next couple weeks there is universal encouragement/support/a boot at our backside - to look at what has been keeping us stuck and take action to shift this stuck energy.

Mars, at 3 degrees Scorpio, is conjunct, exact, asteroid Pandora, so I went looking for asteroid Wuhan (of covid fame) since the activation in 2020 of the Pandora/Wuhan conjunction on Algol in the United States birth chart (Sibley chart) was mega-impactful and the United States is approaching its first Pluto return in February 2022. At the time of this New Moon we see Pandora is conjunct Mars and Wuhan is conjunct the IC of the United States New Moon chart and conjunct the United States natal Sun which almost exactly squares this New Moon. Biden's natal Mars is also exactly conjunct this New Moon. This is an important time for the United States. We'll look at that in another post.

Mars EXACT conjunction with Pandora in Scorpio has me thinking (beyond pandemics and their responses) about the ways we 'try to keep a lid on things' and the way sometimes things need to fall apart and also the ways we sometimes hide away (what's that expression 'hide our light under a bushel') the very things we are intended to share.

With Mercury set to meet Mars and Mars set to square Saturn, both happening on November 10th and so applying (most aspects are strongest when applying) now - AND with a BIG eclipse season starting in two weeks and in play now, we are in some very active/challenging/opportunistic energies.

November's personal planets in Scorpio will offer us three opportunities, through their oppositions with Uranus, to TAKE OUR POWER BACK through unexpected (not totally unexpected) situations. Uranus and Scorpio/Pluto work very well together. Uranus slices through the inertia/all that fixed emotional baggage revealing the next level of possibility. Uranian energy is unpredictable and will risk everything to re-structure our consciousness/pull us into the unknown future. Make the uncomfortable comfortable - because we are hardwired to crave the comfort of what we are used to even if it's not good for us. Uranus energy is neutral, not innately positive or negative. It’s possible for Uranus to activate negative outcomes, but this is usually when we resist change and muck things up by hanging onto what is dead out of fear of what will happen to us if we let go. So, here's where Pluto/Scorpio comes in. Offering us an opportunity to see/feel what no longer has a pulse, the truth that is hidden, the fears that keep us stuck. It's a match made in heaven, or hell ...

 

These oppositions will be accompanied by Saturn squares (which slow things down, allow us to get our bearings, make things more real, create necessary roadblocks and stop signs) the start of Eclipse season and take us into December's final (not quite final) Saturn/Uranus square, this year's biggest repeating aspect. 

The big lessons of 2021 are brought to us through the Saturn/Uranus squares (order vs chaos) and the Gemini North Node. We are learning how to sit with the chaos/concede the chaos its space. Offer 'change' a cup of coffee and a place on the sofa. If we allow ourselves to be pressured into latching onto false conclusions/jumping into old stories so we can feel safe or certain we are just expending our energy propping up worn out situations/structures that need to collapse. It's about focusing on what we want and not what we don't want (which sounds so damn easy and why the hell isn't it?) - focusing, not on resisting change - but on what we want to replace the stuff we have lost WITH and allowing ourselves to stay curious and open and sit fallow when we don't know what that is yet. We aren't expected to have all the answers right now and the people that think they do - well, they don't (which obviously includes me and is one reason I have been blogging less often, so use your discernment with everything you read here). Thinking we know is just creating resistance to what is possible! We can't see where we are going and we can't get where we are going from here. So here has to change. That's what's happening and why we feel so anxious, ungrounded or half-dead - HERE is changing. We have to use the best of that Sag South Node - faith/hope (remember what Pandora held onto) and trust that the universe knows what it's doing!

Bottom line with this one - hang on loosely! Take action as needed and on what you are passionate about. All the personal planets are direct, we are meant to be IN MOTION. What starts will matter.

New Moon Intentions

Setting intentions for "Scorpio stuff" (or the stuff ruled by the house that holds 12-13 degrees Scorpio in our natal chart) during a Scorpio New Moon can be very powerful. Just stay open and flexible because something from that Taurus house of ours is going to shake things up! These intentions might include  - empowerment, change, crisis skills, self-mastery, sex, soul mates, financial partnerships, avoiding power struggles, secrets, psychology, charisma, restoration, forgiveness, obsessions, compulsions, strength, loans, debts, taxes, inheritances, contracts, releasing revenge, jealousy and guilt, your Scorpio natal house theme

AFFIRMATION TIPS: get into a calm, centered frame of mind - always make affirmations from a  positive (meaning both certain and light/calm) space - write your affirmations down by hand in script, speak them out loud - then release your attention from these things knowing that your intention is known.  
 

Know these things are already yours.
