MONDAY - Mercury enters Taurus, Mercury square Pluto
WEDNESDAY - Mercury sextile Saturn, Sun conjunct Chiron
THURSDAY - FULL MOON in Libra, Mercury conjunct North Node
FRIDAY - Venus sextile Neptune
SATURDAY - Mercury sextile Mars
This will be a BIG week.
We have been without power here due to tornadoes, so I am getting a late start. We will see if my brain holds out! I will put alot more information into the Libra Full Moon post mid-week.
For now, let's dive right in!
On MONDAY, Mercury moves into Taurus and then right into a fixed square with Pluto.
Challenging love/money information/conversations. Power plays around resources/within the public sphere or our career. Whatever this is, with the Sun applying to his annual conjunction with wounded healer Chiron at the same time we could be feeling vulnerable. If a problem comes to our attention we will need to slow down and do our best to solve it/deal with it. Think - practical, rock-solid reasoning.
For the next few weeks Mercury will be in Taurus. He/she will station retrograde here, allowing us a better look at our values, resources and finances and encouraging the revision of the physical structure of our lives. The goal is for us to become more useful, grounded and STABLE. All Mercury's retrogrades are in Earth signs this year - we talked about this HERE - and speak of PRACTICAL REVISIONS.
This Mercury retrograde is particularly important. It will tie into Eclipse season and begins on April 21st with Mercury conjunct chaotic change-enabler Uranus and within hours of our first Solar Eclipse in Aries with the Sun, at 0 Taurus, making an intense square to Pluto at 0 Aquarius. Oh my.
In general, every year, as Mercury exits Aries, in some way the 'war of words' is over. Communications and thinking turn to practical things. The pace slows. It's back to basics. Taurus gets results through self-sufficiency, by bringing ideas and concepts 'down to earth', by being sensible. Information and the physical world are adjusting to each other.
This is not the time to enact complicated plans unless we want to make ourselves (and everyone else) cray-cray. Better to drill down to the fundamentals now.
The fly in the ointment with Mercury in Taurus has always been its fixed nature. One of the reasons for the information slowing down is that everyone becomes entrenched in their position and digs in. This can be triply true with that immediate square to powerful Pluto. Compromise becomes a four letter word and there aren't alot of choices. The answer is either yes or no, there is no maybe with Taurus.
When Mercury reaches 5 degrees Taurus on Friday, April 7th, he (as we) will start traveling a route we will be REPEATING, so whatever we have going on from then until April 21st will not be so 'set in stone'. On April 21st Mercury will station retrograde at 15 degrees Taurus and proceed to backtrack, until May 14th, when he stations direct at 5 degrees Taurus. He/she will then walk 5-15 degrees Taurus one final time between May 14th and May 31st and finally start covering new ground, with the entire cycle OVER on June 1st.
We'll talk about all of this as we move through it. For now keep that April 7th date in your head as a deadline for anything you can put to bed, so as to avoid dealing with it multiple times over the next few weeks. This may or may not be possible, some things will need the extra time to be worked out and weeded/seeded.
On WEDNESDAY, Mercury, at 3 degrees Taurus, forms a sextile with Saturn in Pisces. This is a creative opportunity that comes after that challenging power struggle or financial issue. This speaks of support from authority, rules and limits that are helpful. Serious conversations and ideas about our goals/dreams. The Sun/Chiron reaches exactness today and is in play all week. Expect a spotlight on some very deep/very old wounds. Jupiter nearby could bring some hope/optimism (maybe exaggerated responses) or even some possible workarounds. On
THURSDAY, Mercury is going to meet up with the North Node of Fate, so pay attention to words, ideas, conversations - there is something fated this week, pointing us in a new and more stable direction.
THURSDAY is also the day the Libra Moon will oppose the Aries Sun giving us this month's Full Moon. This one is all about our relationships, illuminating relationship sore spots (and our own sensitivities/triggers), unmet expectations and bringing certain situations to conclusions. This is a BIG one and will have its own post next! Our closest relationships will be more and more front and center as we move through 2023 and into next year.
On FRIDAY AND SATURDAY - we have Venus sextiling Neptune and Mercury sextiling Mars. Venus/Neptune is Venus's last aspect before she leaves her home sign of Taurus for Gemini in just a few days. This is a creative opportunity, maybe building on Wednesday's Mercury/Saturn conversation or information to integrate our dreams with reality, within the themes of our impacted houses and collectively within the themes of our relationships, money, creativity, values and self-esteem. There could be some kind of longing here that is repeating the Mercury/North Node and something to pay attention to. At the same time Mercury - who has had a busy week, so we will, too and there will be alot of communications and information - moves into an opportunistic aspect with Mars. Our words/thinking and our actions are working together. Mars could pull in home and family matters. The Moon will be in Scorpio here, so we could be intensely focused on something. From Scorpio, she will be opposing the Taurus planets - Mercury and Uranus - while trining the Pisces planets - Neptune and Saturn, so a bit of a mixed bag emotionally.
Back with the Full Moon post which should tie this all up and make alot more sense of everything.
xo all - please excuse any typos tonight
