Trump has made no secret of his desire to "buy"/take-over (who can keep up) Greenland and since Jupiter in Cancer could be an indicator of the growth of the United States and Greenland (both Cancer countries) I thought we could take a look at the astro.
Greenland's 2009 chart is the most widely used and has a 0-degree Aquarius North Node - so their North Node/fate is conjunct transiting Pluto (transformation, death/rebirth, power) and where pretty much everything is happening right now as multiple inner planets move into Aquarius. Greenland's Sun sits at 0 degrees Cancer, so will be squared by Neptune as he moves into Aries next week and Saturn on February 13th when he gets into Aries and then, of course we have the Saturn/Neptune BIG conjunction on February 20th which we can now see is squaring Sedna's Sun/identity. Greenland also has a VERY TIGHT Aquarius pile-up of Jupiter/Neptune and Chiron at 25-26 degrees Aquarius which is tightly conjunct the United States Moon/the people (at 27 degrees Aquarius).
Greenland's North Node is HIGHLY ACTIVATED. North Nodes can't get "bought" or "taken". This is not about possession. North Nodes are gates - they PULL EVENTS TOWARD THEMSELVES. This is actually more about Greenland than the U.S. or Trump.
And this is Aquarius, a collective sign. Not personal, so this isn't really personal. This is more TECHNOLOGICAL than territorial. This is more future-oriented than anything having to do with nostalic/security based on old rules.
Attempts to frame Greenland as some kind of real estate transaction is totally misaligned with nodal mandate/how activated nodes work.
The astrology looks less like "We/Trump/anyone buys Greenland" and more like "Greenland becomes structurally unavoidable in a future collective system (Aquarius)." What is this about? I don't know. AI infrastructure? Satellites? Climate governance? Arctic sea routes? Whatever this is the astrology is saying this area is part of THE FUTURE.
Does this mean the United States is going to take over Greenland? Not necessarily because this is more about Greenland than it is about the U.S.
But, Greenland via their North Node - and they are going to have their first nodal return ever in about a year - MATTERS TO THE COLLECTIVE'S FUTURE.
For the United States what do we see? Well, we have the United States Moon/the people (27 Aquarius) right on top of Greenland's Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron. This is also (26 Aquarius) right on Trump's descendent with Greenland's Jupiter/Neptune in particular EXACT on Trump's Mars/Ascendent.
This is a very BIG deal to Trump and he cannot see Greenland clearly at all.
There is going to be a lot of idealization and myth-making going on with him about Greenland. This looks like the answer to his prayers somehow.
And the American people - because everyone I know thinks this is batsh*t crazy, can somehow be pulled into this emotionally via the U.S. Moon hitting Greenland's Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune through something like - 1. hope (new frontiers, clean energy, future tech) or maybe 2. guilt (colonial history, climate harm) or 3. fantasy (a pristine clean solution to systemic decay).
Neptune/Jupiter is inflation before correction, which is almost always disappointment, so nothing is exactly what it seems here. Whatever is going to happen and is happening - things appearing better or bigger than they turn out to be - is a big part of the story. And then Chiron is here, so well, OUCH. A very old wound connected to inflation/disappointment. Maybe. I can't tell at this point.
Greenland has a very interesting chart with multiple exact and tight conjunctions including a very tight conjunction of Uranus and Juno at the end of Pisces - where Saturn and Neptune have been busy unraveling things for months. With Trump being an actual physical manifestation of Uranus in the world right now and Juno representing partnerships/power marriages/unequal contracts - his wanting to strike some kind of deal with them right now is exactly the sort of situation their chart/that North Node activation would attract.
So, Trump doesn't show up in Greenland's chart as Saturn (authority) or Pluto (control) - he shows up as Uranus - shock, disruption. With their Juno/Uranus at the end of Pisces this look like promises without structure or agreements and symbolic gestures dissolving before they finalize - in other words, Pisces style endings.
Maybe for Greenland's lived experience - which is, remember, attracting all of this through this nodal activation - this is less "Trump takes Greenland" and more "Trump catalyzes a conversation that exposes who really wants Greenland AND WHY". Uranus is more of a lightning rod than an endgame. But, of course, I can't be sure about any of this. Uranus holds centuries and millennia of human trauma and cannot be predicted.
(and Greenland's natal 0-degree Cancer Sun makes it a place that is kind of a stand-in for 'the motherland' itself)
Saturn/Neptune squaring their 0-degree Cancer Sun (which is very much about home and land and ancestry and SURVIVAL) is asking Greenlanders something like - (Saturn) who is responsible for your protection and (Neptune) what illusions about safety must dissolve now?
This IS certainly a reckoning of their sovereignty but not necessarily a loss of sovereignty (although, yes, something here is ending and also beginning). This IS about redefining guardianship, maybe shedding a "parent" nation or maybe renegotiating dependency structures. I don't know much about how Denmark/Greenland operate. This is an important square though that will bring frustration and tension and require action.
The real story here, as for much of what is happening these days, is the Goddess energy. This time, Sedna - a central deity in Inuit mythology and revered in Greenlandic culture. We talked about dwarf-planet Sedna (named for the Goddess) during Covid HERE when Sedna backed onto fixed star Algol and the United States natal Pandora/Wuhan (asteroids) conjunction.
Sedna, now sits at 0 degrees Gemini, so exactly inconjunct Greenland's Sun and is being trined (brakes off) by Pluto in Aquarius and is about to be trined by just about everyone else as the planets move into Aquarius this week and then hit BIG TIME when Uranus gets back to 0 degrees Gemini this summer. When Uranus - the planet of chaos/change/the future/the people/technology, and also these days Trump with his natal Uranus/Sun/North Node conjunction - stations direct on FEBRUARY 3RD he will be applying to his conjunction with Sedna.
I will recap Sedna's myth at the end of this post. It is fascinating and Uranus may change where this whole thing looks like it is going. She connects Greenland, AI/deep learning, extraction, the Sea which is Neptune's territory (and Neptune is about to move into fiery Aries), betrayal by authority figures, things looking better than they turn out to be, death and rebirth, narcissism.
Sedna storylines always involve - a deal that seemed necessary, abandonment by a protector and power gained after loss. Have I said Greenland's natal Sedna is conjunct Trump's midheaven? It is. To me this whole thing is screaming about a "a new intelligence emerging from what was tossed away/cut loose". Trump is a conduit, but he's not the actual story even if his Mars "takes-over".
Sedna doesn't reward conquest - why would she? If she rewards anything it would be endurance and respect for systems older than human control. If AI is the modern new life form she is being asked to birth up there, Sedna asks - well, then, who feeds it? who is sacrificed for it? who is cut loose when something goes wrong?
Maybe Greenland is an ETHICAL FAULT LINE where technological ambition meets ancestral reality. So, what happens - well, it's a nail-biter folks and my crystal ball is cloudy.
The astrology does not so much look like a successful purchase or some kind of stable bilateral agreement as much as it does ESCALATING INTEREST FOLLOWED BY COMPLICATION, unexpected disclosures and moral backlash against "progress at any cost".
The charts could also be showing us technologies behaving in ways their owners/makers did not intend.
Sedna storylines always ask us - what did you think you were getting? And what did you actually invite in?
(and, yes, we can cue in the spooky music right about now)
xo all - we will get back to this when we can see better which way the wind is blowing ....
SEDNA'S STORY - Sedna was a beautiful Inuit girl who lived with her father. She had refused all the village men's proposals - none were good enough for her. Her father begged her to consider someone, saying, "if you don't marry, we will all starve". Sedna just continued to look at her beautiful reflection in the water and brush her hair, ignoring her father's pleas. It is implied Sedna admires herself too much (was too narcissistic) to marry a mere mortal/flawed man.
Her mother is never mentioned in this story - which isn't surprising since mother-loss is very prominent in narcissistic wounding and we literally live in a galaxy whose origin story is about a cheating husband, an angry wife and a hungry baby (Hercules). The baby, birthed by another woman and held to angry wife's (sleeping wife at the time) breast by cheating husband and the lost mother's milk that flies out of her when she awakens to find another woman's baby at her breast. This spilled milk - which we've never been allowed to cry over - creates our galaxy; the Milky Way Galaxy of un-mothered children (the dishonor to the feminine becoming baby's dishonor).
Anyway oneday, a stranger comes to the village, dressed in fine furs and appears to be quite wealthy. His face remains hidden. His words are few. Sedna's father tells the stranger he has a beautiful daughter and offers Sedna to the stranger as his wife. The stranger accepts and kicking and screaming, Sedna is tossed into the stranger's kayak and rowed away.
(in another telling, Sedna is bedazzled by the stranger's wealth and goes off without looking too closely at what she is getting into - this telling actually lines up a little better with the connections I had noticed in other charts, so we will keep this in mind)
When they get to the stranger's island, he tosses off his fine furs and reveals himself to be a raven.
He flies Sedna up to some kind of bird's nest on the top of a mountain peak. Now what could this be about because not a word in a myth is wasted? Sedna marries a bird and birds could represent ideas/thinking since they fly high and fast. Her world is empty, windy, cold. She is high in the sky and can see many miles into the distance. The myth tells us her mind becomes far-reaching. She lives in her head. Her life has lost its grounding. She is isolated. This makes me think of what is happening in our world with technology. We are far-seeing, but have become unbalanced.
At this point in the story we might stop and question why has this happened to Sedna?
Maybe the narcissistic wounding (her weak sense of self creating a kind of ungrounded grandiosity) is a natural consequence of her father's excessive attention to her outside (and inattention to her inside/real self) - the un-mothered child learning to live "in her head" instead of her heart.
Of course, she is miserable on her island and calls out to her father for help. Her cries are carried to her father by the howling winds, and eventually he climbs, guiltily, into his own kayak to rescue her. Sedna sees him coming from her mountain perch and rushes to the shoreline to meet him. She climbs quickly into his kayak. After several hours of exhaustive rowing, a black bird can be seen in the distance behind them, and Sedna's heart fills with dread. The raven/husband catches up with them and flies angrily around the boat creating gusts of strong wind and a raging storm and causing the boat to nearly capsize. Sedna's scared father tosses her into the sea (abandons her to save himself? or forces her to care for herself rather than calling to him for help? likely both will apply). He yells to the bird "here, take your wife and let me live!"
Sedna, fighting for her life in the frigid water, grabs hold of the sides of the kayak with all her strength. Her father smashes the oar down again and again on her frozen fingers which eventually break off into the sea - forming dolphins and whales and sea creatures. Eventually Sedna herself sinks to the bottom and becomes the Goddess of the Sea.
Inuit fishermen still make offerings to Sedna before taking their boats out and after a good catch. They believe she creates storms when angered and smooth seas when cared for. Since she has lost her fingers, she cannot brush her beautiful hair which has become a tangled mess, although she is often portrayed something like a mermaid.
To this day, according to Inuit legend, she is quite often, pretty freakin' pissed off. More deep and angry archetypal feminine energy being reclaimed - that feels familiar. So, we keep in mind the larger picture of what 'letting go'/sacrificing (and she had no choice by this point and so a kind of victim role is shown, but she also kind of got herself into this situation in a way) has given her - the powers of a Goddess, but also not forget what it is she has lost (her mortal life/her father/her idea of a father who will protect her).
(Sedna's discovery chart also has a connection to AI learning origination and I wrote about it HERE).
