Weekly Astrology Forecast for Creatives | February 15th - February 21st, 2021 - relationships and money re-inventions/endings/beginnings, the old vs the new, the boys vs the girls, decisions, moving on and moving forward

Let's jump right in and unpack the week!

MONDAY - Venus trines the North Node, Juno conjuncts the South Node

WEDNESDAY - Saturn squares Uranus

THURSDAY - Sun into Pisces

FRIDAY - Venus squares Mars, First Quarter Moon (1 degree Gemini/Pisces)

SATURDAY - Mercury stations direct (11 degrees Aquarius)

SUNDAY - Ceres into Aries

MONDAY - Venus, at 17 degrees Aquarius trines the North Node in Gemini

Venus themes - love, relationships, money, resources, our values/self-esteem - progress smoothly. What we want now/how we attract what we want - is pulling us into future/away from the past. With Venus in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus (so in mutual reception), this is super-charged.

Change can be sudden. Things we didn't used to want, well now we do - and here we go. We could move rapidly into a new way to make money/new values/new love and/or just as rapidly find ourselves needing to step away from something we are no longer able to force ourselves into alignment with/hence liberation and change. Trines are smooth flow, but anything Aquarius can be a little jarring. Aquarius/Gemini are airy/mental signs, so this will be more about logic/facts than some uber emotional thing. And keep in mind, trines are effortless - tune into what you want.

Stay open to the unexpected/unusual.

At the same time, Juno, a HUGE player in 2020 - our primary relationships/marriage/commitments/contracts tested - meets the South Node in Sagittarius. What/who needs to go? What commitments/contracts need to end? What beliefs have we committed to that are keeping us stuck? Time to say bye-bye and cut those cords.

WEDNESDAY - Saturn, at 7 degrees Aquarius squares Uranus in Taurus

This is our BIG three-peating challenge of 2021.

This first square is happening at 7 degrees, so people with planets/points near 7 degrees of the fixed signs - Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius - will feel this first square strongest. Since Jupiter met Saturn back on the winter solstice and the world started up again (I know, I think I missed this 'starting up again' thing, too, but the astro shows it did, so it did) we have been in this kind of push/pull expansion/contraction world. January's expansion/explosions bringing February's contractions/reality checks. We kind of get the whole year in two months and then we spend the rest of the year re-living it/ironing it out.

Jupiter wants to expand the collective/push us into the future. Saturn, strong in Aquarius the sign he co-rules, brings the reality checks/limits. Now, Saturn moves into his exact square with Aqua's other co-ruler Uranus (busy disrupting our money, values, self-esteem for the last couple years). This is a fixed square between chaos/change and stability - the new vs the old. The future vs the past. Your Taurus house theme is changing/won't be fenced in. Your Aquarius house theme is kind of laying down the law. Yes, this all sounds ass-backwards and it is and this is why we all feel so unstable. We'll talk about this in more detail in its own series.

We won't get the final Saturn/Uranus square until December, so this story-line will be in play all year.

Note - these Saturn/Uranus squares of 2021 are the third quarter squares - so the WANING SQUARES - in a Saturn/Uranus cycle birthed when they met each other conjunct the Galactic Center (29 degrees Sagittarius) back in February 1988 and won't wrap up until 2032.

THURSDAY - the Sun leaves Aquarius, the sign of his detriment, and moves into dreamy Pisces

I once knew alot of Pisces people and noticed Pisces are particularly proud of their Sun signs. I have never known a Pisces who would rather be anything else. Maybe it's because they are the last sign, I don't know. But Pisces really seem to like being Pisces. This time of year when the Sun moves into Pisces, we all start burning Pisces fuel, feel a little bit of what it's like to be a Pisces - we get more sensitive, more intuitive, more imaginative/artistic, more spiritual/connected, hopefully more compassionate. Often we need more rest. It's like we all get a taste of a 12th house Sun for a while and need to find ways to rejuvenate

(we are also more likely to have childhood memories pop up to deal with and past life memories, if you resonate with that, any addictions/escapist tendencies can get our attention now, too).

Of course, we still have our natal (and progressed Sun signs) running the show, but we get a little high-octane Pisces magic in our tank, too. The Sun acts kind of like an engine moving us forward and it makes perfect sense that it rules Leo - the sign of our heart (engine).

The sun teaches us that doing what is in our heart and doing what is required of us is actually the same thing.

We get this stuff confused because we think doing what's in our heart will make us happy

That's not always true.

The sun's light may be very bright and feel really good sometimes, but the sun's light burns, too.

Following our heart doesn't guarantee a happy life; it does guarantee an authentic one though. At the end of our days in rocking chairs or hospital beds we will be content with what we have done.

How does Pisces energy work with your Sun sign? Give that one a think.

FRIDAY - Venus, at 23 degrees Aquarius, squares Mars in Taurus and we have the First Quarter Square Moon in Gemini

Venus/Mars is another one of these Aquarius/Taurus squares that are dominating February. Again, the future/the disorder (but also liberation) that comes with change vs stability/security/the rules. Venus has just trined the North Node and she's like 'here is this unusual, for me, thing I want now and the Universe is all on board', and Mars is like, 'I am over here struggling to keep what we have/keep this boat afloat dammit'. Tension. Frustration. We could come across as too pushy or maybe we get too focused on what we want/want to keep. This is what we want vs what we have to do to get what we want being at cross-purposes somehow. The feminine energy and the masculine energy not playing so well in the sandbox.

At the same time, the Moon is moving through versatile/multi-tasking/communicative Gemini now and moves into a fast square with that new Pisces Sun. Here is our first challenge after last week's New Moon in Aquarius, designed to bring CLARITY through learning and intuition. Gemini/Pisces. Fast thinking/give me the facts Gemini is annoyed by Pisces sensitivity/dreaminess. Sensitive/other-worldy Pisces is annoyed by Gemini's objectivication. These are both ambiguous/versatile signs, so can't ignore each other. Gemini naturally wants to categorize and break things down and Pisces naturally wants to absorb/connect. Squares are tension/frustration/challenges.

The bottom line here is THE NEED TO CHOOSE. The reality/the future is calling. We can't keep dreaming our life away. Can we? What we decide now will have alot to say with what transpires at this year's Full Moon in Virgo on February 27th. This is the facts/our smarts vs our dreams/intuition - as always, we get to choose. Just keep in mind, Gemini is the sign of the North Node (our best path forward) this year, so we probably want to be integrating the powerful Pisces WITHOUT losing ourselves in any kind of lalaland. Also, keep in mind, this is all happening at 1 degree, so will have a ways to go, whatever we decide.

SATURDAY - Mercury stations direct at 11 degrees Aquarius. YAY! We now begin one final pass over 11- 26 degrees Aquarius before we start covering completely new ground in March. Whatever slowed down or got delayed around the end of January is MOVING FORWARD. Here we go! This can super-charge our New Moon agenda big time.

SUNDAY - Ceres, after months and month and months in Pisces, following directly on the heels of Mercury with her retrograde (and keep in mind Ceres and Mercury were two of the players in that Saturn/Pluto 'time runs out' back in January 2020 and have been running a tag team through Pisces, the sign of viruses for the last year) finally gets into Aries. When I was looking ahead from last summer for some 'weakening' scenarios to the virus, this 'Ceres exits Pisces' thing was one of the things I thought we should be looking for. Well, here she goes. Fingers crossed. Good news, even though we now have the Sun in Pisces kind of shining a light on the virus. Maybe this is good since viruses don't do so well in the light.

The ramifications/our response/the restrictions - with Saturn, the sign of authority/limits in Aquarius, the sign of the people and also the sign of technology - isn't going away anytime soon, I would suspect. Although with Ceres (nurturing) out of limitless Pisces and into 'let go of the baby's hand or he'll never learn to walk' Aries - a need for independence/initiative, some of that should lessen, too.

Now, that the Sun is out of Aquarius, with Venus and then Mercury soon to follow (breaking up the fixed squares), some of these January/February stresses will start to ease.

Next week we have some helpful trines and sextiles and collectively March looks way easier (keeping in mind I can't see your personal chart

than January's explosions and February's retractions - which I wrote about back in December and amazingly have played out precisely this way in the collective and probably in our personal lives, too. Astrology is amazing stuff, although we always have to keep in mind we are looking at it through our own eyes, with our own biases, etc.

Hang in there everyone, spring will be here ... eventually.

xo all

Note - Trump's impeachment trial - started on a Void Moon, as we talked about in an earlier post - didn't amount to anything. With Mercury retrograde in Aqua though, somehow the re-look process still needed to be done, but this week we are MOVING ON from that, too!

Today's Astrology Forecast | Friday, February 12, 2021 - taking practical action, giving our brain a rest, appreciating our imagination and intuition, getting comfortable with change

The Moon moved into dreamy Pisces while we slept.

We are nurtured through our imagination now. Through illusion/delusion/spirituality/escape/rest. After the overload of yesterday's Aquarius New Moon, we need this more connecting and emotional energy now. Pray. Meditate. Make art/music. She will sextile (opportunity) change-maker Uranus (co-ruler of Aquarius and in Taurus, so favoring finances/resources/self-esteem) at 3:31PM EST. Sounds about right as we begin the Chinese Year of the Metal Ox.

Moon/Uranus can make us more comfortable with change/unusual situations and people. Pay attention to your intuition today. Fleeting sparks of genius can seep in/penetrate. Hang with smart people and you get smarter. This is also good energy, particularly in the wake of yesterday's potent New Moon, for breaking out - do something different or differently - of negative habits, passivity, tiredness, even grief.

Mars (at 19 degrees Taurus) trines Vesta in Virgo - part of our New Moon story.

Good for taking practical action. Vesta is retrograde, so this could be about returning (maybe not quite to the drawing board) with something we once cared about/that once kept us up at night. One more action. Maybe one more fix. Trines are the best aspect in astrology and earth trines the most solid of all, things fall right into place. We won't have to push to make this happen, but just take some common-sense next step to clean something up/correct it/make it BETTER. Taurus can pull our money, resources, self-esteem into the mix. How can a focus here improve our situation. Neptune is opposing Vesta and the Moon has moved into dreamy Pisces, kind of diluting our focus/ambition, but if we can stay on task here and use the Neptune to dissolve what needs to be released, one solid thing can lead to another to another.

the New Moon in Aquarius | February 11, 2021 - stripping away, seeding the new and dealing with the forces that threaten to sabotage the new, fortuitous outcomes by summer, starting by looking backward

On February 11, 2021 at 2:05PM EST, the Aquarius Moon meets the Aquarius Sun giving us this month's New Moon; our annual New Moon in Aquarius.

This one is flavored by a stellium in Aquarius, so MEGA Aqua energy!

This is our fourth(!) New Moon at 23 degrees, all interacting with Eris at 23 degrees Aries. Aries and Aqua are buddies, so this month we get the opportunistic sextile. We have pondered the significance of the '23' itself in previous posts and it's probably no coincidence we get all these 23 fresh starts following the year the number 22 was pretty much wiped off the map!

At the Chinese New Year it seems appropriate to  think about the I Ching - hexagram 23 is named 'stripping away'. The dead and dying stripped back to reveal the living energy at the core. The more of us we have invested in this old dying world/self/situation, the more painful this process is. It's kind of pointless to have a direction to go when we get to Hexagram 23 since it is a time to be transformed, not a time to act. Until we have shed these old energies/situations we would only be creating the same old patterns. Life is making sure that doesn't happen.

Stripping away follows 'beauty'

(which is Hexagram 22, interesting isn't it that beauty's dark side is narcissism and also the kind of emphasis on a narrow definition of success that blinds us to the harm we can do),

so beauty/success, by the time we get to 23, has actually been exhausted and this is why 'stripping away' must follow.

In the last couple years many of our external supports/motivations have been taken away/outgrown/exhausted and rather than embark on an anxious search for new support, maybe this Aqua sandblasting is a time to honor our autonomy, our principals, what we know now - the 'stripping away' leaving us more centered and less vulnerable (although it can feel like the exact opposite is happening).

We are kind of like a newly sheared poodle hiding under the bed forgetting this is what a poodle actually looks like without all the pink bows and fluff!

Now this 'stripping away' is something to be considered, if you would like to consider it, when we ponder the significance of all these 23 degree New Moons (we have one more after this month) - this stripping away is a very BIG process that won't be rushed.

This New Moon in particular looks like a powerful and focused fresh start, not without its challenges, but nothing good ever is - being seeded over the next couple weeks and growing into its fullness by next summer's Full Moon in Aquarius - and this year, because of course, celestial magic being well, magical, but also perfectly mathematical, in a year with Aqua's ruling planets battling it out - we actually GET TWO OF THESE (Full Moons in Aquarius, I mean, next summer).

I've tossed in some newish aspected asteroids and our regular cast of characters.

Let's unpack the chart!

The Moon and Sun are at 23 degrees Aquarius. They are sextiling Eris EXACT, squaring Mars, semi-sextile Pluto, sextile Astraea, they are conjunct an EXACT Pallas/Hekate conjunction. Aquarius has an ancient ruler - Saturn - and a modern ruler - Uranus. Saturn is squaring Uranus (and Circe). Saturn is also opposing Hygeia (one of our tested significators for the virus) and sextiling Chiron. Uranus is conjunct Circe and Lith, squaring Saturn and inconjunct Chiron. We also have Venus and Jupiter EXACTLY conjunct in Aquarius - that packs a powerful and beneficial PUNCH. And Vesta and Neptune EXACTLY opposing each other.

The Moon and Sun are sextiling Eris. An opportunity to be ourselves or opportunity coming through authenticity. Conjunct smart Pallas and wise/crone Hekate whatever seeds we are planting now have the added bonus of wisdom, the ability to mediate/strategize - go to war without actually spilling any blood - and lean into the future (Pallas). Hekate, again speaks of an outsider energy - that fringe dweller crone. She is about a time of transition/those forks in the road and although having her here can’t help us see how it will all turn out, she does help us put away the old/the things that don’t belong with us anymore (not much room in her tiny house in the woods I would imagine). She often shows up when we don't know where we are going and helps us to not fixate so much on the not knowing/the changes. Having seen it all (kind of like the number 23), she helps us onto the right path - not the easiest/smoothest path necessarily - and helps us attract the right people. Hekate's niece Circe - more, kind of 'loner' Goddess magic, is conjunct change-maker Uranus. Famous for her island oasis, transforming men into pigs and beguiling Odysseus, Circe's story, like Hekate's, is much bigger and more powerful than this. Again, this speaks of transformation and, keep in mind, with astrology we are always looking for repeating aspects/patterns/archetypes.

Hekate and Pallas are EXACTLY sextiling Astraea - we talked about her before and her promise to return to usher in a new Golden Age. She is in Sag now, conjunct Juno and the South Node. Said to sometimes speak of a tendency to 'stay too long' she could be helping us let go of relationships/contracts/beliefs that are no longer good for us.

The rulers of Aquarius - Uranus and Saturn - are applying to next weeks' exact square. The first of three in 2021. The new vs the old. Freedom vs limits/rules. The redistribution of power that is the 2020's and can only come through chaos. We are going to talk about this in a series of posts, but as it applies to the New Moon, we can see there is tension/struggle here, even within ourselves. Saturn is also sextile Chiron - this is our BEST repeating aspect of 2021 and will be a three-peat. Having this in play during this potent New Moon is powerful. Saturn - the limits/responsibilities - maybe especially within group settings can heal these deep soul woundings around our ability to take care of ourselves/be ourselves.

Venus (and keep in mind the Taurus planets are answering to her) is conjunct Jupiter. Both our beneficial energies EXACTLY TOGETHER at this important New Moon -  this speaks of fortuitous outcomes with what we are starting now. This is in Aquarius where things come suddenly AND over the long haul.

Vesta, our sacred focus/what keeps us up at night, is opposite Neptune. This is kind of repeating the Taurus squares in the sense that it can be draining our focus/motivation. It's hard to focus on this practical Virgo day-to-day stuff/our health/our work as we need to with this exhausting/escapist/illusive Neptune opposition. This also shows the importance of staying grounded. The best way to use this energy, and this is also a repeating aspect, is to dissolve a fixation on something that can't be fixed. The Neptune answer is pretty much always - let go and let God. Neptune square the Nodes can see us being played like a fiddle if we aren't grounded in something real. Illusions should have dimmed/become less potent over the last couple weeks.

Mercury is retrograde in Aquarius. He/she is doing everything the Moon and Sun are doing, but he is doing it backward (and in high heels). He is sextiling Juno and the South Node and trining the North Node. AND he is bridging the Sun/Moon and the goodies of Venus/Jupiter. His backwards thing is VERY IMPORTANT. For us, for our relationships/contracts, for what we are starting, for what we are ending. The re-dos, re-looks, re-visions, re-thinks are important and we dismiss this stuff at our detriment later.

To bottom line this one -

your Aqua house is mega-loaded at the time of a new beginning in AQUARIUS. It can feel overwhelming .. because it is.

Collectively this is about our future, our groups, our highest thinking, our causes, technology/science, innovation, the collective itself. With the rulers of Aquarius squaring each other now - there is tension/frustration built into whatever is starting. Limits create focus and focus erases limits. Creativity needs limits. If I said to you "make something" (and I probably wouldn't because that sounds kind of rude), you'd be all over the place. But if I said to you, "make something out of a Cheerios box", you'd come up with something amazing (yes, amazing, I have total faith in you). The world is like this now. We don't have everything. There is alot we don't/can't have, but we've got that freakin' Cheerios box. With Vesta opposite Neptune we need to know what matters to us and need to apply our focus to this practical/healthy/day-to-day stuff. We need to be grounded.

With Venus conjunct Jupiter there is the STRONG possibility of a positive outcome if we work the process of this chart.

The New Moon energy is strongest over the next two weeks - this is when you want to be seeding whatever you are starting. Set your intentions. Verbally. Write them down. The energy we set into motion now will grow over the next six months until we reach the Full Moon in Aquarius AND we get two of them this year, so double the opportunities to reach some kind of peak/result with this. But Aquarius is less predictable, being co-ruled by Uranus, than almost any other energy. Nothing is guaranteed. And the good part of this 'not guaranteed' thing is, it pushes us to be putting our time and energy and resources into stuff we would want to do even if it doesn't 'succeed' - that's how we get to some kind of authenticity. Every one of us becoming a little more authentic and that's how we, collectively, become a lot more authentic.

NEW MOON INTENTIONS

As we work with the Aquarius positives - innovation, genius, advancement, the new/modern, the power of groups, the power of the individual (yes Aquarius has both!) and eliminate the Aquarius negatives -  too much detachment, too many distractions, our feelings of alienation and our need to get lost in the crowd and hide out in the audience - if we do our work - and we are not required to do our work perfectly - we are left with a cool head, an open mind and enough emotional distance from whatever we are creating to allow the magical forces in play to work for and through us RIGHT NOW!

AFFIRMATION TIPS for your monthly New Moon:  always make affirmations from a  positive place (positive meaning both happy and certain) - write your affirmations down by hand in script, speak them out loud.

Then release your attention from these things knowing that your intention is known.

Know these things are already yours.

Today's Astrology Forecast | Wednesday, February 10, 2021 - trusting the hold up, the re-visions, the re-thinking, the looks backward, check yourself before you wreck yourself

The Moon moves through packed Aquarius now. We haven't seen this many planetary bodies in Aquarius since 1962. She meets Saturn at 7:41AM EST, squares Uranus at 8:41AM EST, meets Venus at 5:10PM EST and meets Jupiter at 6:28PM EST.  Wow!!

This is the day Mercury is going to trine the North Node then square Mars. Mercury is retrograde and the North Node is our best path forward, so we can see the re-vision, re-view, re-think (even delay/stoplight) we are having is a needed part of the process. She/he will be back here in March direct and by then we will know what we are doing because we will be doing it.

The tricky part is Mercury's square (tension, frustration) with Mars. We talked about this yesterday and in the weekly HERE

"Here is an old argument/obstacle/tension. This is a repeating aspect from January 8th. We might have to fight for what we think/have/need. Mars is in Taurus, busy trying to hold onto what he (as we) has - working toward stability. Our actions are geared toward our sustenance/survival/slow and steady growth/what is comforting. Maybe Mercury is coming in with these far-out ideas ahead of her time and Mars is like, hold on a minute - do we have the existing resources/self-esteem for this? What would I have to change? This is a fixed square, so no one wants to budge. With Mercury in Aquarius this can also be a surprising realization/news that upsets our hard-earned stability."

Maybe we don't have enough information/or the right thinking about something to proceed. We know from the trine these delays/looks backward are necessary, so there is no point beating our head against the wall over that part of it. If we are feeling antsy/impulsive we can give Mars in Taurus something to do - he (as we) is very useful here/can do the sustaining thing. With all this airy Aquarius, we are lucky to have our hands in the dirt - or mud as it might be. Keep in mind the North Node is in Gemini (answering to that retrograde Mercury) - it's a time to talk, ask questions, look around, yes ... again. Mercury will be direct on February 20th and then we'll be moving forward and by mid-March covering new ground.

The fact that this major stellium in Aqua is happening while she is retrograde tells us this retrograde/backward thinking is VERY IMPORTANT. We can't move forward without it. We won't line up with what we need to line up with. Check facts. Ask questions. Know words can be challenging. We might feel pushed or pushy.

The first of 2021's Saturn/Uranus squares is happening next week. Aquarius/Taurus, just like today's Mercury/Mars. When Saturn gets added to the mix (and he's already in here) we get results/reality checks - so the results of any rebelliousness/disorder, Aquarius detachment. Or maybe he brings us the results of our innovative thinking/elbow grease/group goals - this can be the "futury-thing" this week's challenges are building if we work things well. Do robots have muscles? Maybe they do.

For today, maybe some old information/person from the past/need to re-think, SOMETHING, seems to be holding us up. Trust the hold up. Keep a cool head because Mars in Taurus is frustrated enough.

The Moon is dark/balsamic. Get enough rest. All these energies squaring Mars (our action, passion, initiative) can make us less motivated. We'll rehash all this more thoroughly in the New Moon post tonight.
