October is a very volatile and transformational month and we have another HUGE week ahead as we enter this fall's Eclipse spin cycle!
This would NOT be the time to be making big decisions if we don't absolutely have to, because life could be spitting us out in a couple weeks - I am imagining a celestial washing machine here - in a much different condition than we went in - let's hope for something less wrinkly and smelling of lavender.
Since I was last here (see bottom of post for a recap) alot has transpired above us and through us.
Mercury left Virgo for Libra. Venus left Leo (after MONTHS) for Virgo. After no planets other than the Sun and Moon changing signs in September, two inner planets changing signs within the first couple days of October, is something we all have noticed/felt.
Mars square to Pluto, exact on Sunday the 8th, and applying all last week was DANGEROUS. I thought if we get through the first couple weeks of October without a major international incident (or dire monetary situation) that would be good news for next spring when Uranus meets Jupiter ...
(Uranus on Israel's Sun, Jupiter on their North Node last week - when Jupiter and Uranus meet in April 2024, they will be exact on Israel's 8th house cusp, sandwiched between Israel's Sun and North Node and exactly opposing their first house Chiron, this week's eclipse is conjunct their ascendant. Netanyahu's chart - and he has been in power there off and on for decades - cemented to Israel's with all the malefic energies, his Mars on their Mars, his Saturn on their Pluto, plus his Sun on their Neptune - doesn't help the situation)
but, we haven't. We'll talk more about this.
This week we have our first Libra Solar Eclipse since the South Node moved into Libra last spring (we talked a bit about that HERE) with ruler Venus in Virgo, the sign of her fall, and Mars moving into Scorpio while still squaring Pluto who is stationing and uber strong (the square was exact last week). Power struggles. Tight corners. Many people will be feeling the pressure/intensity/SQUEEZE. Today I felt like I was in the eye of a storm - strange and unsettled pockets of quiet everywhere. Last week when the Moon aspected Mars/Pluto the stability of our world shifted and this week we have the Moon triggering the Venus/Saturn on Tuesday as Pluto stations. We're not in Kansas anymore.
In the meantime, let's dive into the week ahead and see what we see.
TUESDAY - Venus opposes Saturn, Pluto stations direct
WEDNESDAY - Sun opposes Chiron
THURSDAY - Mars enters Scorpio, Mercury inconjuncts Jupiter
FRIDAY - Mars trine Saturn
SATURDAY - New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra, Mercury opposes Chiron
TUESDAY - we get a reality check as Venus in practical Virgo opposes Saturn in Pisces.
Almost immediately upon entering Virgo, Venus runs into an opposition with a retrograde Saturn. Old limits. Old rules. We feel weak/old/alone/what we are missing. REALITY CHECK. Most likely what we want is not just going to be given to us here. Maybe we are going to need to work for it. Put in the time/make an investment. Or maybe it just isn't coming at all. We might hear a "no" and then have to figure out how to deal with that. Watch your wallet. Take your finances seriously.
Oppositions are endings (think of Full Moons) and Saturn reinforces this, so maybe with Venus here a relationship ends (maybe a work relationship with Venus in Virgo), a work project could end or maybe the ending involves a financial situation or a daily habit/obligation.
At the same time, Pluto stations direct for another run through the end degrees of Capricorn.
For some, here is the death that was postponed.
Maybe we had time to clean up our mess - to get our ducks in a row - maybe to prevent a big-bang style ending, but more likely to prepare ourselves for it.
Pluto forges ahead again - bent on deconstructing the old Cappy order.
(note this is happening on the U.S. natal Pluto, exact, but not to the second, so reactivating the United States Pluto return, we talked about last year HERE)
Pluto direct speaks of a loss (let go or be dragged), a total transformation or change of course of some part of our life and/or REAL EMPOWERMENT. So, maybe here is the death that was postponed, but also maybe here is the power that was lost.
If you have planets or points at or very near 27 degrees of the cardinal signs, you have been no doubt feeling this (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn). This is about changes with real-word structure. Tangible/physical things. In general, this is a Cappy forward movement, so collectively, can be good for stalled careers/goals and ambitions.
WEDNESDAY - the Sun opposes Chiron bringing our vulnerabilities/woundings into a painful spotlight. Relationship imbalances/what isn't fair - we are seeing it/feeling it. Changes within relationships that are outside our control. Situations within relationships and partnerships are triggering very old wounds. Mercury will be opposing Chiron by the end of the week indicating painful conversations, information and words.
THURSDAY - Mars moves into the sign of his ancient rulership - Scorpio. FINALLY out of his detriment in Libra, he (as we) moves into a much stronger position now.
Because Scorpio likes to pre-meditate, with Mars (action, initiative, passion, anger) here we will think about what we are going to do before we do it. And, yes, that sounds slightly criminal and mostly devious, but this is Scorpio we are talking about!
Our actions become more focused. More intimate. No more Libran fence sitting or social niceties holding us back.
We could be doing things in secret now, too. Shh!
Because Scorpio rules our 8th house of compulsions and obsessions we could find our actions driven by our impulses. If you find yourself caught in a loop - STOP - ask yourself - why am I doing this again? why am I so mad? why do I want this so badly? what am I really trying to do?
We can get alot done with Mars in Scorpio, let's just make sure it is stuff worth doing.
Scorpio is our fixed water sign. It's job is to strengthen our emotions. But fixed water is well, kind of fixed. Think frozen. Think concrete. Think quicksand. It can make it hard to change course if we get too emotionally wedded to whatever it is we are focused on. Stay flexible somehow. Venus in mutable Virgo will help.
This is a good time to take action with Scorpio ruled themes - other people's resources, debts, loans, inheritances, mortgages, taxes, insurance payments, intimacy, sex, reproduction, death issues, stuff that is dead in the water (or caught in the quicksand). With Mars blasting through this collective area we will have more energy, initiative and control over these subjects than we usually do.
Keep in mind we will also be more passionate about them and easier to anger.
FRIDAY - Mars in Scorpio immediately trines Saturn, retrograde in Pisces. This is intense/penetrative action blending well with old rules and limits. Positive interactions with authority and stepping into our own. Committing to complicated inner work, financial solvency/limits, shared resources. Old intimacies and financial habits are easy to slide back into - make sure this is a good idea. Blockages can be removed/dissolved.
SATURDAY - A HUGE Solar Eclipse New Moon in Libra (our first solar eclipse in Libra since the South Node of the Moon moved into Libra) focuses on ending/transforming imbalanced relationships by any means necessary - this is the follow-up to that New Moon in Aries from two weeks ago that showed a need to FIGHT. Oh my.
Eclipses are FATED cosmic course corrections. Big post about that next as we take a look BY SIGN!
xo all
Some stuff we missed last week that is still reverberating and in play:
OCTOBER 4TH - Mercury entered Libra until October 22nd. Mercury (after being holed up in Virgo analyzing the hell out of everything for two months due to his/her retrograde) moves into Libra.
Mercury is not super strong in Libra because Mercury is fast and rules our intellect and Libra is slow and rules balance and justice. She weighs all sides of an issue before taking any action - the reason for the indecision she is so widely known for. There will maybe be some superficial chitchat and passive aggressive stuff while Mercury is in Libra, too. That's all to be expected.
The good news though is that none of this can happen without other people - Mercury in Libra is all about social interactions. Virgo doesn't need other people to analyze, but Libra can't achieve balance without them!
(the Libra house of our natal chart is where we need balance most of all - with fast moving Mercury moving in this house will wake up now)
So, to be successful our words are more polite now. We need to LISTEN. If we want our communications to hit their target we need to make the other person feel listened to.
OCTOBER 8TH - Mars, at 27 degrees Libra, squares Pluto, who is crazy strong and still preparing to station (tomorrow). This is a DANGER WILL ROBINSON aspect. Here is tension/frustration between our actions/passions and power/losses/something that is outside our control. Anger. Power struggles. Unresolved issues can come to a head. Squares push action in order for us to TURN A CORNER.
For some people this will be about relationship breaks and actions to move away from unhealthy and imbalanced alliances/relationships.
This is also the day Venus leaves Leo - this summer's retrograde signed, sealed and delivered - and moves into precise, analytical, and, yes, sometimes nit-picky Virgo until November 8th.
Our Virgo house get a visit from the lovely Venus. Virgo Suns and Ascendants get more attractive - both easier on the eye and able to attract what they want. Our natal Virgo houses get more attractive, too.
Venus rules our love, money, self-esteem, values, relationships, women, beauty, our resources, attracting what we want - all areas are subjected to Virgo's keen focus and attention to detail now. We will be analyzing what we want and what we have. We will be analyzing our relationships.
The problems will stand out. We won't be able to miss them. And since what we focus on grows, sometimes things get worse before they get better during this transit. But this is excellent energy to fix what needs fixing and accept (or eliminate) what just isn't fixable. Venus in Virgo is about loving the details of something, enjoying the work, appreciating the craftsmanship and complexity of something or someone or some situation -
Relationships are challenging right now anyway. Mega. The male/female dynamics playing out and re-balancing themselves in the collective are playing out in our own homes/lives, too.
Thanks to everyone who reached out during my absence. I am still alive and kicking. Too much kicking maybe. I have just been very burned out, busy, more than a bit drained and exhausted with family and marital stuff and needed a break from SOMETHING. Back for now, hopefully a long now ...
xo again
