Into the Eclipse Spin cycle we go folks! The universe, determined to spit us out quite differently by next month, than we are now.
On Sunday, September 7th, 2025, at 2:09PM EST, the Moon, at 15 degrees Pisces and conjunct its own North Node, opposes the Virgo Sun - giving us this year's Pisces Full Moon, a total Lunar Eclipse.
Full Moons bring waxing energy to a PEAK, a culmination, sometimes to an ending. Eclipses create portals, cosmic resets and 'times out of time'. There are two different kinds of Eclipses - Solar and Lunar.
A Lunar Eclipse, like we have today, is a time when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon. Material/earthly concerns dominate. And just as a Solar Eclipse can bring a reset of solar energies - identity, leadership, father, public life, the now, a Lunar Eclipse can bring a reset to our emotional energies - inner self, intuition, unconscious patterns, THE PAST, mother. The reset comes through the blocking of solar energy by earthly energy ie material concerns/matters.
This Eclipse is part of a particular and recurring Saros cycle - Pisces/Virgo cycle - that happen every 18 years, so you might be able to see recurring patterns and what you are working with. This one takes us back to the fall of 2007.
This Lunar Eclipse though is very SPECIAL/potent. We not only have the background energy of outer and middle planets lined up like cosmic dominoes we have the Moon in Pisces trining (brakes off) Pisces ancient ruler Jupiter with Jupiter in Cancer - the Moon's sign!
So, this trine, already a powerful aspect even further empowered by the planets involved getting back to their most comfortable spaces via the connection they are making with each other. This would be powerful at any Full Moon, but this one being a Lunar Eclipse - again, fated, a cosmic reset, timeline shift possibility, 'time out of time' - can really bring MAGIC AND MIRACLES.
Collectively this might look something like - emotional closure that feels divinely timed/blessed, a spiritual download/intuitive surge, a dream that brings clarity, a powerful release of grief or illusions or attachment to the past (that is no longer healthy or helping - the Sun in Virgo - or that is standing in the way of growth - the trine to Jupiter in Cancer), support from ancestors, spirit guides or 'behind the scenes', a sense of BEING GUIDED THROUGH AN ENDING toward a softer, safer emotional future.
Let's unpack the chart!
The Moon, at 15 degrees Pisces, opposes the Virgo Sun. The Moon is conjunct the North Node at 18 degrees Pisces making this Full Moon a Lunar Eclipse. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse trines Jupiter exalted in Cancer. The Moon opposes Mercury who sits with the Sun. Neptune, the modern ruler of Pisces, is retrograde at 1 degree Aries and exactly conjunct asteroid Heracles/Hercules and tightly conjunct Borasisi. The Sun is tightly conjunct asteroids Pandora and Orcus. The Moon is exactly inconjunct Venus in Leo.
The Pisces Full Moon opposes the Virgo Sun.
The Virgo vs Pisces axis has alot to do with the polarity of our work/rest balance. It is about letting go vs 'battening down the hatches'. Service vs sacrifice. The big picture we can FEEL (inside) vs the nitty gritty details we can TOUCH (outside). Faith and magic vs practicality. Compassion and acceptance vs. criticism. Letting go vs cleaning up our acts. Addiction and self-sabotage vs having a healthy routine. Of course, these 'opposites' are really two sides of the same coin.
The Virgo/Pisces polarity teaches us that we don't get the Pisces "magic" without the daily routines and precision that serve and support it.
(it also teaches us that without the Piscean art, music, magic, spirit - life is just an endless honey-do-list without any actual honey, I guess we shouldn't have killed off most of the bees.)
Think about the "spells" of old - two dandelion roots, one eye of newt and a spoonful of honey carefully collected under the Full Moon and then set off to bake under a waning crescent for two nights. You get the idea. Words matter and are uber important, but it's only been solely "abracadabra" at the magic show, the rest of the time there are practical actions that have supported the ultimate MAGIC.
The Full Moon trines Jupiter in Cancer - applying. Something is going in the direction it is going; the direction it wants/needs to GO/GROW. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer and operating with strength, generosity and wisdom. He is also the ancient ruler of Pisces - Piscean energies are used to answering to him. Whatever expands now/whatever grows is not just some random thing. Eclipses are fated. The caveat with Jupiter and when we toss Pisces into the mix we can double this up - not everything will be real. Saturn's return to Pisces might make this easier to see - what is real/what is grinding us down - and even help firm things up. Also keep in mind with trines to Jupiter it can be way too easy to over-do, over-promise, over-spend. In Cancer even over-eat!
The Sun is tightly conjunct Pandora and Orcus.
Orcus is the Roman counterpart to Pluto, deals in oaths, soul contracts, and the consequences of breaking them. He brings gravity to the Sun's position - the kind that can make a situation feel like a matter of life and death or split time into before and after. With Mars moving toward his square with Pluto in a couple weeks there is something about a 'fight for our life' brewing in the background. These are powerful energetics and can speak of transformations/changes that will not be easy to reverse. Keep this in mind. Also keep in mind Jupiter's promise of IMPROVEMENT.
The Sun is also conjunct asteroid Pandora - the mythic first human woman and bringer of both chaos and HOPE. She can speak of the HOPE that is left in the box or the ills that have escaped. How do we choose to frame this? It's Virgo season - are we focused on the mess or the medicine?
I used to make a locket that included the dictionary definition of the word 'hope' and every time I sold one the person would ask me to switch out the word hope for something "more positive". I couldn't understand it. Maybe "hope" felt passive as if we were just sitting around "hoping" instead of taking that bull by his horns and making stuff happen. Maybe "hope" isn't passive - maybe what hope really is, is receptive. It's a feminine quality. Hope isn't the opposite of making stuff happen, it's the opposite of despair.
(Pandora is conjunct asteroid Wuhan and fixed star Algol in the United States natal chart and connects to pandemics and algorithms and situations where we 'lose our heads'. Sitting with the Sun and Orcus in practical Virgo says something needs to be taken seriously (Senate hearings with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr and Trump's powwow with the tech people seem well timed to the Eclipse astro). Neptune, the modern ruler of Pisces, is retrograde at 1 degree Aries. He sits on the 'Aries point/point of incarnation' with asteroid Heracles (aka Hercules) and asteroid Borasisi (tech dystopia). The Full Moon's opposition to Mercury can put our heightened emotions at odds with practical words and ideas. Small steps can be a good idea, so we don't have to undo/unwind a whole bunch of stuff later if we have over-done, over-indulged (more Jupertarian possibilities).
Whatever this Eclipse stirs up, trust that in Pisces/Virgo it is part of a larger HEALING arc. Jupiter reminds us that even strong emotional tides carry blessings. Maybe this time they can wash something truly valuable to shore .... I am hoping for that ginormous piece of once-in-a-lifetime cobalt blue sea glass I found this summer and then LOST :(
SOME WAYS TO CONSCIOUSLY WORK WITH THIS PORTAL might be to journal (maybe especially our dreams as the veils are very thin now and especially over the next couple weeks), getting into water (this is a powerful/amped up water trine) via the ocean, salt baths, some kind of water ritual, ancestral altar work (connecting to your maternal ancestors and the feminine support you have received in this life - be thankful and gracious), forgiveness letters to your past self to release old baggage (knowing that everything has brought you to your current material circumstances (the Earth ie material reality you have created that blocks your Moon giving you this cosmic fresh start via a powerful ending), art or music or prayer. I just started a Qi Gong practice - I thought it would just be a few minutes to add to my day, but it is actually kicking my butt. Replacing a bad habit with something like this can help now. Let the energies within you know that you are willing to be more fully embodied and are ready to work with them!

The houses involved show where we’re letting go (your Pisces house),and where we’re being spiritually held/helped (your Cancer house) as we do.
These energies will unfold over the next two weeks and over the next six months until we get to the New Moon in Pisces in March 2026, which will NOT be an Eclipse - we will skip right to Aquarius and really be pulling the future into the present by spring!

Think of that Cancer house theme - where Jupiter is - as your helper/expander now. He can bring benefits and LUCK. Cancer is a natural support - roots, the past, home, family, mom and apple-pie, so very well suited for the job. Pisces is our natural ending house, so a Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Pisces is most likely releasing things that are ready to move on ... the Eclipse will make any endings or climaxes all the more emotional.
