MONDAY - FALL EQUINOX, Mars into Scorpio, Mercury trines Pallas, Venus squares Vesta

TUESDAY - Sun opposes Neptune retrograde, Sun trines Uranus retrograde

WEDNESDAY - Sun trines Pluto retrograde, MARS SQUARES PLUTO

So, there are two big storylines this week - the Sun playing out the Eclipse storyline and Mars coming home to Scorpio - finally out of his debilitation in Libra, YAY - and right into a tense square with powerful Pluto. 

Yikes. Mars/Pluto is a dangerous combination, and the square really fires things up. 

Power struggles can be COSTLY this week folks and we've got that Grand Air Trine that wants to pull our feet right off the ground.

Let's unpack the week!

MONDAY - the Sun enters Libra bringing the FALL Equinox, so this is a day with a nearly equal balance of daylight and dark. The Sun begins to fall (weakens) after today as we move into longer nights and shorter days. It is the opposite down under (the Sun begins to strengthen). Western astrology is based on the Northern Hemisphere where we move into Fall - which is not only about leaves. It is also the season of the reaping of what we have sown. A light (the Sun) is shone on what is out-of-balance or what is unfair, particularly within relationships. The curtain is drawn back, and our Libra houses (and their themes) start to WAKE UP. 

Rise and shine gorgeous! 

In some ways, because Libra is about weighing things out (nothing is cut and dried here like the wheat from the chaff during Virgo season) - things can be harder when the Sun is in Libra. Libras may sometimes (not always) appear wishy-washy, but it is because they were born between Summer and Winter - they can see both sides of everything! With the Sun in Libra we will all be burning Libra fuel. We move ahead through balance, compromise and through our relationships with other people.  We move into the shadow of Libra when we are passive-aggressive, pouring pink paint on garbage and pretending it is a Barbie dream house and putting what everyone else needs/wants ahead of ourselves thus building deep pockets of resentment that will explode all over us and everyone else by the time we get into Scorpio season. These are our no-no's now. Keep an eye out.

This is given greater importance by the Solar Eclipse just a few hours before.

This is also the day Mars moves home to Scorpio. The key to Mars in Scorpio is to be fearless without being an asshole - especially with that square to Pluto approaching. And know this is in play as soon as Mars gets into Scorpio. This probably won't wait until Wednesday!

Mars is no doubt sick-to-death of his exhausting journey through Libra. 

With Chiron in Aries - and answering to Mars - we are a few years into a collective healing through a shift from tribal power to individual power (Chiron will be in Aries until 2027). Mars journey through Libra every couple years is our opportunity to take back some of what we have been projecting onto other people AND, at the same time, bring some of our newly formed "individual selves" into our relationships/the way we do 'fair' now, the way we do 'balance'. This is tricky because our memory is tribal and something deep within us is always sending out warning signals when we venture too far from the 'tribe' or in this case, the way relationships 'have always been' done. But that old version of loss of self within intimate relationships is no longer possible. Which makes everyone, yes, a little lonelier, but also keep in mind we are carrying our unique spark at a very intimate level now and no one can take it from us. Anyway, hopefully we made some use of Mars in Libra personally. 

Collectively Mars in Libra has been a VERY BIG STORY. 

The big news TODAY, and probably all week, is Mars move into the fixed waters of Scorpio - a sign he once ruled, is still uber comfortable ... and somewhat dangerous. Our actions become more focused, more strategic, more committed.

Mars here can be good for our physical energy since Scorpio is continually re-generating itself. So, maybe we go to bed exhausted and drained, but somehow, we still wake up ready to give the world another go. 

Because Scorpio naturally rules our 8th house of compulsions and obsessions we could find our actions driven by our impulses. If you find yourself caught in a loop - STOP - ask yourself - why am I doing this again? why am I so mad? why do I want this so badly? what am I really trying to do?

We can get alot done with Mars in Scorpio, let's just make sure it is stuff worth doing.

Scorpio rules death (and the inevitable rebirth that follows), so maybe our actions become focused on cutting off what we don't want. Keep in mind Plutonian endings are PERMANENT. 

Scorpio is our fixed water sign. Its job is to strengthen our emotions. But fixed water is well, kind of fixed. Think frozen. Think concrete. Think quicksand. It can make it hard to change course if we get too emotionally wedded to whatever it is we are focused on.

This is a good time to take action with Scorpio ruled themes - other people's resources, debts, loans, inheritances, mortgages, taxes, insurance payments, intimacy, sex, reproduction, death issues, stuff that is dead in the water (or caught in the quicksand). With Mars blasting through this collective area we will have more energy, initiative and control over these subjects than we usually do. 

Keep in mind we will also be more passionate about them and easier to anger. 

With Mars in Scorpio, the sign of Mars ancient rulership we will be asked to go deeper, act with passion/power, merge more fully, prune the dead wood. We need to be somewhat fearless and occasionally, maybe even brutal. Occasionally. We don't want to be trying to control other people/be total assh*les, but we need to be in control of ourselves. The things we have avoided in Libra are laid out like landmines now to TRIP US UP. So don't just go barreling into things.. 

Also today, Mercury trines Pallas - this is Libra/Aquarius, so conversations and ideas expressed with charm, diplomacy and cooperative language naturally find ways to be strategic and move things forward. Think grace plus innovation. Words that are kind and fair can spark insight and move ideas forward, maybe in unexpected and even electrifying ways. And on the flipside - unconventional strategies, detached reasoning (head over heart) and looking to the future can make social interactions and relationships more collaborative and balanced. Trines are smooth flow - things fall into place.

And finally, Venus squares Vesta - this is Virgo/Sagittarius, so tension and frustration between practicality within our relationships and finances and a focus/devotion to something bigger and more expansive. Vesta has her eyes on the forest and Venus has her heart on the trees. This could be a clash between what needs to be fixed that is RIGHT HERE and those greener grasses OVER THERE. This is friction that pushes us to get our priorities straight. 

Monday looks big. Big. BIG. 

TUESDAY to WEDNESDAY - the Sun, in Libra now, opposes Neptune and trines Uranus. Relationship and collaborative delusions/illusions are confronted. We have not had the Sun in Libra oppose Neptune in Aries in decades! Probably not in your lifetime. This is a light on "we" or the "other" vs the illusion/delusion of "me". Keep in mind this is all part of the Eclipse story we talked about HERE. We are looking at something like - where have I projected my desires onto another? Where have I avoided taking responsibility for my own part? What is me, what is you, what is us and what is projection? We probably want to watch out for - relationship illusions, wishful thinking that is over-the-top, idealizing outcomes, misreading another person's motivations or intentions, 

Then the Sun trines Uranus and Pluto forming the Grand Air Trine we talked about in the Eclipse post with the Moon. This is innovation, empowerment. Something falls into place and pulls us forward. This will be different for everyone and people with planets and points in the very beginning and very ending of the air signs have the best access. With trines, things go the way they are going. 

The Grand Air Trine is forming a Kite with Neptune. A Kite can be a channel for breakthroughs if the focal planet is handled consciously, but if it’s not, the focal point can leak energy and undermine the whole thing - the kite crashes/never takes off. 

With Neptune, that risk is very real - instead of dreams and compassion and healing, we get fog, avoidance, confusion, or even escapism. Since there is so much potential here, and trines can float right on by us, let's look a very quick look by sign, so we can be intentional with this. 

If Neptune is engaged consciously, we get something inspired, visionary, transcendent. If left unchecked - we get something undermining with avoidance, leaks, and illusions.

ARIES | Aries Rising - partnerships, networks, and communication can FLOW. Your dreams of selfhood can soar, just WATCH OUT FOR foggy identity traps, projection

TAURUS | Taurus Rising - career, values, and daily work can FLOW. Breakthroughs come from inner healing, as long as you don’t drift into avoidance.

GEMINI | Gemini Rising - Self-expression, higher vision, and creativity FLOW. Groups can inspire or mislead, so choose allies and groups carefully.

CANCER | Cancer Rising - home, intimacy, and the hidden realms/background stuff FLOW. A visionary career path beckons - just avoid chasing mirages of success. 

LEO | Leo Rising - partnerships, networks, and communication FLOW. Expansive new beliefs can guide you, so long as you stay grounded in reality.

VIRGO | Virgo Rising - values, money, work, and career FLOW. Shared resources or intimacy hold the key just don’t get lost in illusions around trust or money.

LIBRA | Libra Rising - your identity, creativity, and vision FLOW. Relationships can elevate you as long as you balance idealism with truth.

SCORPIO | Scorpio Rising - home, hidden strengths, and intimacy, finances FLOW. Work and health breakthroughs are possible as long as you face reality and not avoid it. Medical avoidance should be avoided. 

SAGITTARIUS | Sagittarius Rising - networks, communication, and partnerships FLOW. Creative breakthroughs await, just stay mindful of romance or creative illusions.

CAPRICORN | Capricorn Rising - career, values, and service/health/work FLOW. Home and family are the pivot point - your sanctuary can inspire, or it can destabilize you if avoided.

AQUARIUS | Aquarius Rising - identity, vision, and creativity are in FLOW. Communication breakthroughs shine as long as you guard against fog or false signals. Check your language Aqua.

PISCES | Pisces Rising - shared resources, home, and spirituality FLOW. Financial clarity is key - your values can guide abundance, if illusions don’t drain your bank account.

Also WEDNESDAY - Mars square with powerful Pluto is exact. 

We could burn the house down with this one. So, let's not.

This square screams - POWER STRUGGLES, so it's time to keep a cool head. Check yourself before you wreck yourself comes to mind, too. 

Also bonding with others over who we don't like/what we don't want. 

The Moon is squaring Pluto, too, so emotions can run high (ultimately the Moon goes on to make some really good aspects, so this can end better than it begins). 

Conflicts over who has the power/holds the reins can erupt suddenly. Repressed anger can surface as Mars digs up what Scorpio has buried. We could see anger at and through groups and causes. We might be pushed to confront jealousy, manipulation, revenge, control crap either our own or someone else's. BREAKDOWNS and blowups are possible maybe especially within toxic group dynamics. Karmic entanglements come into sharp focus.

It's harmony-loving Libra season so this square is an invitation to CONSCIOUSLY work with buried passion and anger instead of letting it leak out as conflict or projection.  If handled with awareness the tension can fuel transformation and real empowerment.

(I just realized I wrote Danger Will Robinson in that title - an old Lost in Space trope - with all this Robinson stuff, and collectively we are in Eclipse energy, so maybe this square has already happened ...)

Take care of yourself. No dark alleys. No unnecessary disagreements/entanglements. Avoid unwise risks. Imagine a "caution" sign flashing at you this week. 

Keep in mind, Pluto is retrograde, so whatever is creating the tension/frustration now is not something we couldn't have seen coming. It's sort of new, yes, maybe, because Pluto is in Aquarius, but it's also old, too, because we've been here before. If this shows up as something or someone we can't totally avoid dealing with - we can at least avoid adding fuel to the fire. 

Hands off those gas cans folks. Take the high road. Take a breath. We can't beat Pluto. Let's not waste our fire/energy on fights we can't win - let's turn this into something that will outlast any angry sparks. The Moon is waxing/growing - use any loss or deconstruction as motivation to build something new. Channel the intensity into a project, a workout, or a cause that matters to you. That same fire that melts bridges can be used to forge steel - we can use something here to strengthen ourselves/our will. 

That's enough, I think. On Friday the Moon will move from Scorpio to Sag and that should feel good - let's enjoy it. 

So, we've got the Grand Air Trine/Kite and this Mars square Pluto - that's basically the week. It's alot more than it sounds like though if hitting your chart. 

Keep in mind Mars is a trigger and often strikes EARLY., so read the whole week at once. Look for ways to take advantage of that trine - the FLOW - and if we are able to use the base of the Kite the trine is forming with Neptune - so, using the Neptune which means the imagination, compassion, spirituality, connection - things can really take off. Just watch for self-sabotagey avoidance stuff and idealization.
