On September 10th, 2025 at 12:23PM EDT at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, Charlie Kirk, a conservative political activist, author and media personality was shot and killed while speaking at a debate event organized by his organization Turning Point USA. His death, during an intense and fated Eclipse season and a time of immense national division gained international attention with President Trump announcing he would posthumously award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom
(Charlie Kirk's memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 21st, 2025 - the date of the biggest Eclipse of 2025. This is a Solar Eclipse ie the Sun is eclipsed by the Moon. In mundane astrology - the branch of astrology connected with nations and global events - the Sun represents the ruler/the king. The Moon represents the people. His death is totally tied into this Eclipse/loss of a solar figure as we will see when we unpack the astrology.).
After the shooting, a manhunt ensued with grainy photographs of the person thought to be the shooter released to the public. On the evening of September 11th, 2026 - one day after the murder - a relative of a 22 year old Utah resident named Tyler Robinson reached out to a family friend who contacted the Sheriff's Office telling them that Robinson had either confessed or implied he had committed the murder. At 10:00PM that night Robinson was taken into custody and booked into the jail at 4:00AM on September 12th.
I do not have birthtimes for Kirk or Robinson. Using unsubstantiated birthtimes means we cannot use the houses in their natal charts with any certainty of accuracy, so keep this in mind. I am using noon charts for both of them which will make them Sag risings. Kirk, very strongly looks like a Sag rising to me, but he would anyway with his Sun/Jupiter conjunction (Jupiter rules Sag) and Robinson's chart looks usable with this, too.
Let's start with Charlie Kirk. I am going to be non-political and stick to the astro.
Kirk was a Libra Sun born on or near a New Moon in Libra with his Sun conjunct Jupiter. His Sun/Jupiter conjunction is probably the core component of his chart (not that any of us are ever just one thing). It would give optimism, confidence, big-picture vision, and often a sense of destiny or mission. It could show a strong moral compass, enthusiasm for growth, and a larger-than-life personality. In Libra, there would be an emphasis on themes of balance and justice and maybe a learning/teaching about the difference between "self" and "other". His Jupiter/Sun (shining/being seen for what he knows or is confident about, kind of a 'know-it-all', too) in Libra, the sign of other people, fits perfectly with his controversial "Prove Me Wrong" debates on college campuses - the reason they were so successful and also so polarizing.
His New Moon/Sun/Jupiter is in tension/frustration with his Neptune and Uranus. This square is separating. Neptune and Uranus are EXACTLY conjunct in his chart - within just a few seconds (and they were in an EXACT sextile on the day he was killed). The Neptune/Uranus (outer planet conjunction of 1993, a generational aspect) blended radical idealism (Uranus) with transcendent visions (Neptune) in the structured, rule-bound sign of Capricorn. This generation often carry some level of idealism around institutions, work, government, and authority. This is a strong aspect in Kirk's chart and challenging/pushing his Libra placements. Uranus square his New Moon infuses his soul with restlessness and the karmic challenge of breaking free from inherited patterns of harmony that are merely superficial. His Libra Sun would not be allowed to settle for peace at any price with this chart. His Libra scales must weigh his personal truth, even when it disrupts comfort. Neptune squares his Sun. Often, this aspect points to someone who needs to anchor their life in faith, inspiration, or a sense of meaning, but the road is winding, with periods of disillusionment when reality doesn’t match the dream.
On the flipside (and there always is one) the Sun/Jupiter confidence might tip into arrogance or overreach, and Neptune’s influence may lead him to pursue unrealistic paths, fall for illusions, or trust the wrong people. In the positive it could give him a mystical aura, artistic or spiritual charisma, and the ability to inspire others with his idealism.
Think about it like this - the Sun has just squared Neptune and Uranus who are merged together, and the Sun now catches up with Jupiter. What kind of 'solar headspace' would a person born right here have? The Sun in Libra says the core identity seeks harmony, balance, partnership, beauty, fairness. BUT the Sun (self, vitality) was just pressured and CHANGED by this Uranus/Neptune storm. Identity had to wrestle with instability, uncertainty, visions of collapse and rebuilding, and the impossibility of controlling the collective tide. A square suggests tension/frustration and often crisis leading to growth. The Sun has just separated from the square/challenge, so it carries the imprint of BEING TESTED. The Sun knows that life is not just a smooth flow of Libran balance. Then the Sun unites with Jupiter, so Kirk is born just as the SUN IS BEING RESTORED. Jupiter can make things too big though. Makes him a kind of king, but is he ready to wear the crown?
Kirk also has a stellium of planets in Scorpio (Mars, Mercury and Pluto) including two personal planets adding intensity, depth, passion and power. Pluto in Scorpio souls are born to dig up what is repressed. He would not shy away from conflict. Might like to fight/argue. Scorpio insists on truth at any price (his powerful Jupiter/Sun would probably convince him he 'knew' or was 'right'). He would have an investigative mind, confront what is hidden, make people think about the uncomfortable stuff that is underneath. His only natal retrograde planet is Saturn, who tightly trines his Sun/Jupiter (pulling in an old 'responsibility/authority/father' storyline). That Saturn retrograde, since Saturn rules endings and his death comes through the energy of an Eclipse opposing Saturn, speaks of karma and surely a fated quality to his personal ending. His Saturn in Aquarius could speak of an ending in a large, airy, group setting and connected to intellect/detachment/tech/the future. Birth time would tell us more.
In mythic terms (and I am working on some myths with my writing course, so bear with me please :) - he is born exploring balance in a big way and under a bright light in a collapsed kingdom (the separating Neptune/Uranus). While others maybe hide out in illusion, he walks into the shadows, uncovering and speaking his truth that the kingdom has fallen because of hidden rot and lies. How well he handles any of this I will leave up to you to decide. As he aged he might have become more Libran - more of a mediator than a point of view. Whether the viewer/listener sees this "hidden rot and lies" as what he represents or what he opposes is up to them.
His burden/shadow (Achilles and Narcissus conjunction in Sag) is being overly confident/arrogant and unbending - and therefore BREAKABLE. Also to be a symbol, absorbing both adoration and hatred, serving as a mirror for collective projections.
His gift is to reveal what’s hidden so that real harmony (Libra) can exist and not just the fragile peace of appearances. And, of course, this is just my take on this/looking through my eyes. Kirk was a polarizing figure as was his soul's intention, and, of course had his life cut short, also almost certainly his soul's intention. Uranus/Neptune squaring his Jupiter/Sun/New Moon can speak of an unexpected event/coming through chaos and also granted by authority - that makes him a MARTYR.
On the day Kirk was murdered, Mars - the trigger in astrology - was at 22 degrees Libra tightly conjunct asteroid Memoria (memorial, memory) and Kirk's Sun/Jupiter. Twenty-two is THE power number - some say the number of, 'kill or be killed', but Mars is debilitated in Libra/other people pulled into our story and our actions in uncomfortable and even dangerous ways. Kirk's naturally strong Mars in Scorpio would have been weakened and even could be used against him. This powerful and debilitated Mars was tightly conjunct Kirk's 21-degree Libra Sun (and maybe his Moon, also the United States natal Juno and Israel's ascendent) and was conjunct his Jupiter. I added asteroid Gunn (as I do in shooting charts) and we have transiting asteroid Gunn at 29 degrees Virgo - this week's Solar Eclipse degree and Eclipse events often work backward - and sandwiched tightly between Kirk's natal Venus at 28 degrees Virgo and natal Juno at 1 degree Libra. I added Juno because of Kirk's power by association with powerful people (Juno often represents our connection to power as well as partnerships) and because of his natal 21-degree Sun (the number 21 is the number next to power, and I think this would be amplified in Libra). His connection to powerful people playing a big role in his life and the events playing out here. The transiting North Node of Fate is conjunct Kirk's natal asteroid Gunn and transiting Juno is exactly conjunct Kirk's natal Pluto (ruler of death, transformation and his Scorpio stellium), so all tied together. Transiting Jupiter, a super-important planet for Kirk is on Kirk's natal asteroid Christian (religion) and Christian creates a T-Square to his natal Sun/Jupiter - where Mars/Memoria are - with the empty leg holding transiting Chiron (the wound we will talk about when we look at the Robinson chart). Transiting Uranus is exact on Kirk's natal Ceres - big change of life situation coming out of nowhere.
(Note on June 23, 2014, Kirk posted on X, probably called Twitter back then, "Did I just get shot by an AR-15? Feels like it." I am not sure what this was in relation to. It was obviously said in jest. On that date Mars - the trigger - was also in Libra like he is now. Conjunct Kirk's Sun and likely his Moon. Saturn was in Scorpio and tightly conjunct his natal Mercury and sextile his Uranus/Neptune, and transiting Pluto - the final malevolent planet - was conjunct his Uranus/Neptune and sextiling Saturn. The North Node of Fate was exactly conjunct his natal/chart-ruling Jupiter. How crazy is that.)
The last Virgo New Moon four weeks ago that kind of initiated Eclipse season was at 1 degree Virgo - the degree of Kirk's natal Pholus. I last talked about Pholus HERE and called him 'turning point energy', (Kirk's organization is called Turning Point USA). Pholus was a wise centaur whose uncorking of a bottle started a great battle. He is maybe best known for the way he dies, in an instant, pricked by an arrow shot by Hercules. You might remember if you read this blog that we had been talking about asteroid Heracles/Hercules sitting with Saturn and Neptune (and Borasisi and Urania) and pondering about what his placement means at this important time.
BOTH Kirk and Robinson were born with Hercules at 0- and 1-degree Aries, so exactly where asteroid Hercules is NOW! Both having their Hercules returns at the same time. Both doing what they think a hero does.
With Heracles/Hercules right now at 0-degree Aries - an Aries point/our collective attention focused here and situated EXACTLY at the tight midpoint of the Saturn/Neptune conjunction that is the major theme of 2025 and 2026 - with Saturn at 29 degrees Pisces - EXACTLY opposing the Eclipse this Sunday - and Neptune sitting at 1 degrees Aries - this is a very big deal. So, now we see what Hercules is about in the Saturn/Neptune storyline (he will be about other things, too, but this assassination is certainly one of them). And immediately after the 29-degree Virgo Eclipse, the Moon and Sun are going to move to 0 degrees Libra - the Sun will bring in the Equinox - and exactly OPPOSE HERCULES.
Let's look at Tyler Robinson.
Robinson was born on a Full Moon in Libra (Kirk was born on a New Moon in Libra, so symbolically Robinson could be said to close out Kirk's New Moon), so he is also a person born with a strong polarity between "self" his Aries Sun and "other" his Libra Moon.
Full Moon people sometimes feel a tension between asserting their will and seeking approval/connection. Full Moon people have a "fated" quality to their lives - everything is more amplified, more visible and more reactive. His Sun squares its ruler Mars in Cappy. Mars is exalted in Capricorn, but maybe conjunct an activated Chiron and with transiting Mars weakened in Libra, it becomes a kind of wounded will - action and anger feel blocked, twisted or directed destructively. The square to the Sun shows an inner conflict: “How do I act? Do I push forward or hold back?” Anger may come out explosively if bottled. His North Node in the middle of Taurus called him to patience and grounding but that South Node in the middle of Scorpio tightly conjunct his natal Juno (partner, connection to what he feels gives him power) speaks of old partner drama/losses/sexuality that are very ingrained/past lives. His lesson would be to step out of shadowy, reactive patterns ... but, if he did do this act, he was stepping right into them.
Robinson was born with Chiron exactly conjunct Kirk's natal Uranus/Neptune conjunction in Capricorn. And he has transiting Chiron tightly conjunct his Aries Sun.
Even though Kirk's Uranus/Neptune is a generational aspect Kirk's fame and success would be personally activating a very triggering and wounded space in Robinson's chart - in Cappy this is a wound around father, authority, achievement, legitimacy, "not feeling good enough". And remember Kirk's Sun/Jupiter in square to his own Neptune/Uranus puts his Sun/Jupiter in square to Robinson's Chiron. Kirk's Sun/Jupiter would also conjunct Robinson's Moon and oppose his Sun. Robinson would be drawn in emotionally (Moon conjunction) and challenged in identity (Sun opposition). And, of course the Chiron person (Robinson) would not be able to see the Neptune person (Kirk) clearly. Robinson's relationship with Kirk could be totally illusory and delusional.
Robinson was born with a North Node of Fate at the very end of Taurus, conjunct malevolent fixed star Algol (losing your head, we knew we would probably find him here) and EXACTLY conjunct his natal asteroid Church (Kirk is a Scottish word for Church and, of course, Kirk was strongly connected to church and religion). A possibility would always exist for Robinson to lose his head and also to take off the head of a Church/Kirk. Robinson's natal Juno in the middle of Scorpio opposes his practical Mercury in Taurus and conjuncts his own natal Pholus (uncorking a bottle that cannot be re-corked). We won't spend too much time on his chart. If Charlie Kirk's life was destined to end here, then Tyler Robinson's life would have had the same kind of opposing energy. Robinson's natal asteroid Gunn is conjunct the United States Moon - the people.
Let's take a look at a chart for the event/shooting. The chart is radical/can be read. I will try to read it without the major players or event (as if I didn't know what happened, of course, I wouldn't be adding some of these asteroids without knowing the story, but let's add them). It looks fairly innocuous at first glance, but the more you look at it the more brutal the possibilities.
THE EVENT CHART - the Moon in Aries was void if we don't include Chiron - and I am more inclined than ever to hope that in the future astrology leans toward Chiron as the ruler of Virgo! Opposing Mars says that actions and outcomes are messy/not supported. Ultimately don't get us what we want. Moon/Chiron here speaks of old wounds, probably around identity that are acutely felt. The Sun is exactly on the South Node - our collective perfectionist past we have overdone/old patterns resurfacing - and opposes the North Node - our best way forward. The Sun is conjunct Mercury right at the midpoint of this month's two Virgo New Moons. What's happening here will be talked about, in Virgo, likely analyzed down to the smallest detail. Details can be tricky here with the South Node. We can give them too much weight. Under a microscope we lose sight of what we are even looking at. The spotlight turns into scrutiny, and we can miss the plot entirely! Mercury is exactly conjunct asteroid Christian, so there could be religious news or something talked about connected to Christianity. The chart is Scorpio rising - death/transformation happening. Something intense, might feel like life-and-death. Juno is conjunct the ascendent pulling intimate partnerships and the people/situations we get our power from into the moment. There are tests of commitment and 'who gets to decide'. Mars, as the ancient ruler of Scorpio rules the chart from Capricorn - on the kill or be killed degree in a debilitated position, opposing the Moon/Chiron midpoint - so aimed at wounds and memories - and conjunct asteroid Memoria exact. Some action here is memorialized/burned into memory/might preceed a memorial. Asteroid Gunn opposes asteroid Hercules EXACT. Asteroid Church tightly opposes Pholus. With Pholus/Church/Gunn/Hercules - chain reactions are triggered. Things escalate quickly. Tiny incidents can trigger moral showdowns. Asteroid Hercules sits uncomfortably between Neptune and Saturn (who is a hero?) - reality dissolves and non-reality becomes real. Pluto trines Uranus EXACT, sextiles Neptune and Saturn. Fantasies suddenly take on very real consequences. Transformation/systemic change comes through deep truths or rupture/crisis.
That's enough for today. After I get to the Eclipse post we will get back to this one. With Kirk's memorial happening on the Eclipse and this whole thing activating the 'hero/Hercules/anti-hero' stuff in the Neptune/Saturn - it is making me think about their conjunction as also the connection/re-connection of church (Neptune) and state (Saturn) through something like a hero/hero story. Or a cosmic attempt at something like this.
I don't know. I have to think about it. We will look at the bigger picture in Part II.
There is a lot of controversy around this assassination and whether other people, organizations and even countries are involved, so we will take a look.
I also want to look at where this could be going ...
The Turning Point USA organization has elected Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, as the new CEO. She has a very strong chart and Venus conjunct her husband's Venus, so Sunday's Eclipse is on her natal Venus, too. She also has Uranus - change/chaos/heartbreak - on her natal Jupiter/husband and the first New Moon in Virgo a month ago that was exact on Kirk's Pholus (turning point) was exact on her natal Juno (partner of Jupiter/what she gets her power from). The season's shift into Libra (ruled by Venus and the sign that rules women and the sign Mars has been in catalyzing these changes) just hours after Sunday's Eclipse and Kirk's memorial feels symbolic of their organization moving into the hands of a woman/this woman ... Sun at 28 Scorpio, so opposing Algol. Very strong, independent and nobody's fool.
