weekly astrology forecast | september 8th - 14th, 2025 - old work and health habits come up for the eclipses to work their magic, something important comes to light and is talked about, the eclipse portal is open for business

Ok, so we are in between two powerful Eclipses now.

The Full Moon Pisces Lunar Eclipse from yesterday which will be followed by the New Moon Virgo Solar Eclipse (second Virgo New Moon this year, our second chance New Moon) on September 21st.

ECLIPSES BEND TIME - things can start before they start and end after they are over.

With multiple personal planets meeting the South Node in Virgo this week this can be time of letting go of perfectionism/criticism/needing to have all the answers, going back and forth over old work situations, daily habits and HEALTH circumstances. We may be called to face things we have avoided by over-working or over-analyzing.

WEDNESDAY - Sun conjunct South Node/opposes North Node

THURSDAY - Mercury conjunct South Node/opposes North Node

FRIDAY - Sun sextiles Jupiter, Mercury sextiles Jupiter

SATURDAY - Sun conjuncts Mercury, Vesta enters Sagittarius

SUNDAY - Third Quarter Moon in Gemini

WEDNESDAY (and this can happen as soon as the week starts and maybe has already started with Eclipse 'time-out-of-time' energies) - The South Node represents the "known"/where we are. It's the well-worn path we may have over-walked. The Sun in Virgo is shining directly on old habits, outdated roles, health situations and areas of our life where we’ve been too focused on fixing or micro-managing. We may find ourselves confronting ingrained patterns around health, work, pets, service or daily routines. Maybe especially where we’ve tried to hold everything together through over-efforting.

Keep in mind the North Node in Pisces - those bigger hands than ours that have the wheel - that the Sun is now opposing is asking us to have faith, to trust, to allow things to unfold without us micro-managing everything.

THURSDAY - Mercury is following closely in the Sun's footsteps. Expect important conversations, realizations, or mental breakthroughs that reinforce Wednesday’s Sun/South Node themes. We might revisit old stories, outdated ideas, old work/co-workers or even health information that now need to be re-evaluated.

Mercury on the South Node can bring MESSAGES FROM THE PAST including conversations we never finished, an email we forgot to send, or even internal self-talk that needs updating (with the Sun here we can notice what we are saying to ourselves and what we are thinking).

Watch for communication that feels karmic, repeating or oddly fated. Again, Mercury's opposition to the North Node invites us to dream beyond our usual logic. Let's consciously speak and listen from a more compassionate/intuitive space. If we find ourselves judging something too quickly or harshly - let's take a breath.

FRIDAY - here is where the energy starts to shift (realize we are in a time-out-of-time' spin cycle, so timing events and situations is not really possible, but here is where the energies are most exact) as both the Sun and then Mercury sextile Jupiter.

Jupiter in Cancer (where he is exalted) offers supportive momentum plus opportunities to grow/expand and, dare I say, even LUCK and LUCKY BREAKS.

Collectively this will come through home, family, health - maybe through diet - and security. Sextiles are opportunistic aspects that require action, so maybe here is where we want to be ACTING ON WHAT CAME TO LIGHT earlier in the week.

Think about - what am I feeding myself/absorbing? What routines or thoughts support my healing? What brings me peace and protection? Ways to work with this sextile might include reworking our daily schedule to better support our health and rest needs, connecting with family/people and situations that feel like family, seeking nutritional help, actively looking for engagement/not sitting things out. Make the call. Say YES. You get the idea.

SATURDAY - after their twin machinations, here is where Mercury finally catches up with the Sun in Virgo. CLARITY. Our heart/ego/life force aligns with our thinking. We are integrating what has been revealed this week, making decisions, setting intentions, etc. HOPEFUL - remember we had Pandora sitting with the Sun at the Lunar Eclipse - conversations, information, highlighted activities are likely, just keep in mind this is all about our mindset. Are we focused on the mess or the medicine? See the Lunar Eclipse post HERE if you missed it.

Also on Saturday, Vesta enters Sagittarius, shifting the collective energy of devotion and sacred focus into a more visionary, expansive territory. This energy wants us to devote ourselves to something bigger. Allow SOMETHING BIGGER TO KEEP US UP AT NIGHT. A cause, a quest, a spiritual path. My family is turning a weekly game night (that has totally gotten off-track) into a weekly game/plan a BIG TRIP night. Our collective focus can turn to what is foreign, politics, travel, higher education, religion - I will take a look at the politics of Eclipse season in the next post!

SUNDAY - after last week's Full Moon in Pisces, here is where our waning Moon (now in Gemini) squares the Sun she was opposing last week. Both the Sun and Moon are answering to Mercury who has just moved off her/his meeting with the Sun. Our mind can feel scattered/anxious or maybe we just have too many things to think/communicate about. We just aren't going to have all the answers right now and if that is not ok we are going to be making ourselves nuts. Squares are tension and frustration that require action, so here is a PUSH. Something about preciseness vs flexibility. Maybe options are opening up and we are challenged to RECONSIDER something we thought was correct. And on the flip side if our thoughts and words and ideas are all over the place (Moon in Gemini) the square to the Virgo Sun is designed to bring a practical energy and focus to bear.

During Eclipse season being rigid is not helpful. And this Eclipse season we are working with mutable signs that prepare us for the new/cardinal season that follows - ie Virgo leads to Libra, Pisces leads to Aries. They are designed to change us anyway and now have the power of cosmic resets behind them. What needs to change? What is not in alignment and what can we do about it before next Sunday's Virgo Solar Eclipse?

xo all

A couple things happening here this week that I think illustrate the current astro are 1. hubs has to fix his truck. Some complicated, heavy-duty front-end work. He closed his repair shop a few years ago and has fully moved on from that life.  He’d rather wrestle a bear than a ball joint. But of course, this week the truck demands attention, and he has no choice but to FIX IT. 2. Meanwhile, I somehow agreed to sell some of my old cork creations at a local market. Stuff I haven’t made or sold in ages and a line of work I thought I’d retired, because the local market organizers really need help. We’re both getting dragged back into old skillsets (I almost wrote skillets and that sounds about like what we are getting into, too. I can hear the sizzle and almost smell the bacon), sort of for the greater good, although hubs 'greater-good' is so his old truck doesn't shake apart on the highway. It's all very Sun/Mercury in Virgo on the South Node - pulling us into past work, past versions of ourselves, not for glory (!) but just because it needs doing.

Maybe it’s a chance to respect those skills one more time, give them a better send-off, find an improved work/rest balance, not be crazy perfectionistic, and appreciate how the universe loves a good full-circle moment/wink/smack in the head. It is pretty precisely what we were both doing in the fall of 2007 at the last Pisces Lunar Eclipse Full Moon.
