Virgo New Moon Solar Eclipse | September 21st, 2025 - The Wound, the Work and Planting Seeds for Shared Healing

On September 21, 2025 at 3:54PM EDT, the Virgo Moon meets the Virgo Sun AGAIN giving us our second Virgo New Moon of 2025 - this one close enough to the Moon's Nodes (South Node) to be a partial Solar Eclipse.

The Nodes of the Moon are the points where the Moon's orbit around the Earth intersects with the Earth's orbit around the Sun. When we have a new or full Moon very near (conjunct) these points - it causes one cosmic body to move into the shadow of another one and we get our Eclipses.

During these blockages, powerful portals are opened - we get a cosmic reset, much like a computer being turned off and back on and the program that uploads at restart is a little bit (or quite a lot) different than the one we ran on before. Eclipses change us, and we (vibrating differently) change our circumstances by attracting or repelling what our new self, ie new vibration lines up with.

Eclipses will eclipse something out or bring something to light or alternately cover it up and then the New Moon seeding will activate the promise of any slow-moving transit currently present in our life.

One tricky thing with eclipse energy, that I have found from personal experience as well as other people's charts, is they often work backward. The thing the eclipse is "eclipsing out" or "bringing to light" or "covering up" can happen days or weeks before the physical Sun is overtaken by the Moon.

It pays to keep in mind everything is happening, and being healed, at multiple levels. Situations in this lifetime conspire to balance and tie-up past life and ancestral loose ends while at the same time seeding the energetic cords, we will need for our next ones. Chance encounters are not really chance encounters. Physical things are not solely physical things, and metaphysical things are physical things, too. Our luck during these times is not so much good or bad, because we have all seen good things go bad and bad things turn out good, as it is OPPORTUNISTIC. We are always in the middle of the story. That's just the way it is. We can never know everything that is going on, and this is a cycle when it will pay to understand this. Faith will move mountains. This 'move mountains' thing assumes they are moving 'out of the way' ('in the way' doesn't sound like such a good thing, but can happen, too, at times, and even end up being a good thing) and 'moving things out of the way' is exactly what Eclipses do.

The effects of a Solar Eclipse can be felt for the next 6 months - this will bring changes, as a collective and individually, with Virgo things. Most people will have some changes in their lives from this energy - maybe move into a new line of work, take better care of their health, master the tiny details of their lives, get a new pet or have a change of relationship with an existing pet, get on a better day to day schedule, start something new that serves other people, etc and the area of life that houses Virgo is your natal (and progressed chart) will experience changes and fresh starts, too. Often with eclipses fresh starts begin with something else ending, maybe dramatically. They can change our course and get us back on 'chart'. If we don't have major things happen with this energy this is probably not an area of life we need to make a major change right now to stay on course with our life purpose (remember eclipses are all about the Nodes of fate), but we will always be impacted by other people who are affected - we are all in this together!

Let's take a look at this particular Eclipse - let's unpack the chart!

The Moon meets the Sun at 29 degrees Virgo. They oppose the Saturn/Neptune conjunction (Neptune out of sign) - both retrograde. The New Moon in Virgo is answering to Mercury in Libra who is answering to Venus in Virgo, so they have a nice MUTUAL RECEPTION. Both can get back to themselves through each other. The Moon is EXACTLY conjunct asteroid Achilles and conjunct asteroid Karma and opposing asteroids Hopi (EXACT) and Heracles. Within hours of the New Moon the Sun is going to move into Libra starting a new season and forming a Grand Air Trine - with Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini - and a Kite with the Saturn/Neptune energies.

So, what do we see?

THE NEW MOON IS AT 29 DEGREES. This is a "fated" or "urgent" degree and often carries a sense of WE MUST GET THIS DONE NOW - something that must be wrapped up or integrated before moving forward. We had a New Moon in Virgo a month ago at the very first degree of the sign, so now, it’s as if Virgo’s lessons of discernment, service, health, and craft are coming to their ultimate test before the energy shifts into Libra. What has changed in the last month? What did we do/not do? We get a second chance here.

It's a seeding moment, but we can see the seed is going to need to grow in the next sign - Libra/cardinal air. The growth will need to come through balance, cooperation, harmony ie Libra energies and the Moon answering to Mercury in mutual reception to Libra ruler Venus is very good news for us/helpful.

THE NEW MOON WITH ACHILLES AND KARMA brings an 'Achilles heel' moment - maybe vulnerability disguised as strength, a weakness exposed (and this is a Solar Eclipse, so something is also hidden), maybe a reminder that our strongest place might also hold our weakest. With the Sun/Moon here - it is personal AND collective. Karma reinforces the lunation's ties to FATE. There can be something here about finishing up 'unfinished business' or repeating cycles.

THE NEW MOON'S OPPOSITION TO SATURN AND NEPTUNE - The New Moon - this fated/urgent ending and seeding that is pulled into Libra, faces the tension of what is real vs what isn't real. We are revisiting boundaries/commitments - remember this is all part of going back to get a better ending. Saturn - is this functional, sustainable? Neptune - is this inspired, true to spirit? Maybe this feels like being pulled between 'prove it with evidence" and "believe in what can't be proven". Or which of our structures/commitments are still aligned with vision and spirit? Or the reverse - where have our dreams drifted too far from workable reality? IT IS SOMETHING LIKE A COSMIC AUDIT between Virgo and Saturn's realism and Pisces and Neptune's idealism.

THE NEW MOON'S OPPOSITION TO HOPI AND HERACLES - Hopi can be something about issues of cultural polarity/othering (?), maybe hope or something about how to live in 'right' relationship with others, indigenous wisdom, cultural survival, and the need to honor difference without othering. Heracles/Hercules about the hero's journey/shouldering burdens/maybe the heroic labor needed to bridge divides.

Then as soon as the Sun enters Libra - vernal equinox/fall in the northen hemisphere - he forms a Grand Air Trine with Pluto and Uranus and it becomes a Kite with Saturn/Neptune. A Grand Air Trine is an ease of communication, movement, with Aquarius and Uranus involved it is very FUTURE FACING. Here we are FACING OUR FUTURE after going through Eclipse events.

So, we have Sun/Moon/Achilles/Karma opposite Saturn/Neptune/Hope/Hercules adding tension and then the trine providing release and THE ENERGY FLIES FORWARD. The collective fated vulnerability becomes the driver of NEW DIRECTIONS.

To BOTTOM LINE this one. There is 1. A TURNING POINT (and, yes this speaks of Charlie Kirk and his movement, also Britain's big marches "unite the kingdom" last weekend organized by Tommy Robinson - Kirk's alleged assassin's name is Tyler Robinson. Robinson means "son of Robin" with Robin meaning fame/bright and 'son' pulling in ancestral identity). 2. A RECKONING with illusions and structure 3. A KARMIC TRIGGER (Achilles/Karma) - wound, cause and effect 4. the TAKE OFF of the Grand Air Trine/Kite - ideas, networks, groups, collective shifts, BREAKTHROUGHS.

Maybe this New Moon tied into its conjunction to Achilles and Karma is asking us to locate a core wound or pattern that repeats in our life. This isn’t about fixing everything, but identifying the thread that always returns - is it a pattern of being undervalued? carrying too much responsibility? overworking our physical body? being silenced/not trusting our own vision? letting others carry our load?

The New Moon at 29 Virgo invites PRECISION - this isn't about 'all our wounds' or 'all our karma' - this is about what matters now/what is showing up. Our vulnerabilities (Achilles) are not just personal, they reveal how we each are woven into the collective myth (Heracles) and the collective polarity (Hopi).

The oppositions make this lunation not just about setting intentions, but about being pulled into the tension of opposites - clarity vs. confusion, service vs. illusion, vulnerability vs. collective labor.

It’s through holding these opposites and NOT collapsing one side, that the kite TAKES OFF.

(think about Charlie Kirk - who we talked about HERE, and his "Prove me Wrong" debates. He didn't get up and lecture his points. He talked and let the other side talk. Whether you agree or disagree with him - he did let the other side talk. I don't know if anyone ever changed his mind about anything, but he did mostly appear to hold the opposites without collapsing one side - we did get a debate.)

Let's take a look by sign!

ARIES | Aries Rising - this lunation shines on your daily rhythms, health, and service. A last chance to refine habits before a new season of partnership begins. Watch for old illusions about work/service dissolving, making space for clearer commitments.

TAURUS | Taurus Rising - this lunation awakens your creative heart and sense of play. Vulnerabilities in love or self-expression could be revealed, but they open the door to karmic healing. The air trine stirs new networks and group opportunities.

GEMINI | Gemini Rising - this lunation brings attention to home and roots. An old family story or personal “Achilles heel” could surface and resolving it helps you step into a more public or creative role. Uranus in your sign adds a sense of freedom and reinvention.

CANCER | Cancer Rising - this lunation sparks your voice and communication. You may feel torn between practical details and a dissolving worldview, but the breakthrough comes through naming your truth. Partnerships and allies help lift your words forward.

LEO | Leo Rising - finances, self-worth, and resources come into focus. A karmic loop around value or security might feel raw, but it’s also the lever for empowerment. The air trine opens fresh ideas about income and shared ventures.

VIRGO | Virgo Rising - this New Moon is yours dear Virgo at the fated 29th degree. Old vulnerabilities may surface, but they are also the key to growth. A new cycle of relationships is beginning, and clarity in self-definition helps your partnerships evolve.

LIBRA | Libra Rising - you are on the threshold of renewal as the Sun moves into your sign. The Moon asks you to finish an old cycle by addressing subconscious patterns or hidden vulnerabilities. Once the Sun enters Libra, you become the kite’s nose - the season begins with you leading.

SCORPIO | Scorpio Rising - your community and friendships are under review. Karmic patterns in groups may surface, and vulnerabilities with belonging come into focus. But once integrated, this launches you into powerful creative or personal expression

SAGITTARIUS | Sag Rising - career, legacy, and direction are in the spotlight. You may feel pulled between private and public demands, but karmic vulnerabilities are what clarify your role. The air trine brings support from allies, groups and visionary plans.

CAPRICORN | Capricorn Rising - the New Moon highlights your worldview, beliefs, and long-term direction. An old illusion or structure around faith may dissolve. Vulnerability in your voice becomes a teaching gift. The air trine helps you anchor this into career opportunities.

AQUARIUS | Aquarius Rising - deep transformation and shared resources are the themes. A karmic knot around intimacy, trust, or dependency could surface, but it is also the pivot that launches new empowerment. The air trine gives you allies and bold new ideas for growth.

PISCES | Pisces Rising - partnerships and mirrors are activated. A karmic or vulnerable dynamic with others comes to light. The balance between self and other is being restructured.

Regardless of sign maybe let's ask ourselves - what pattern keeps showing up and asking for my attention? What small labor is mine right now - not all labors, but this ONE?

I often feel the Virgo/Pisces polarity in real life most clearly as work vs rest.

So maybe the wound shows up as us only feeling as worthy as our productivity and our labor now is to rest or work from joy instead of compulsion and this becomes an act of collective resistance to burnout culture.

Or to flip it we find this shadow of under-responsibility, where maybe the wound shows up as a refusal or inability to contribute that comes from a fear of failure or sense of entitlement or a disconnection from purpose and the labor here would be to show up - even imperfectly and even in small ways - and this becomes a collective act that shows that contribution and not just 'success' is valuable and balances the field so that a few don't have to carry the burden for the many.

The over-worker heals burnout culture by proving that rest is worthy and the under-worker heals extraction culture by proving that every contribution matters - that not showing up leaves others depleted.

Together we move into Libra - BALANCING THE SCALES, mirroring something intentional.

New Moon Guidelines

Let's shake this routine stuff up a bit to give that Kite some fresh air!

Prepare your space. Keep it simple and intentional - a clean surface, a candle (Virgo loves clarity and purity), a small bowl of water and a stone (Saturn's grounding and Neptune's flow). Maybe place something that represents your vulnerability (Achilles) and something that represents strength/effort (Hercules). I might use a small object that feels tender, and another that feels solid or heroic.

Sit quietly. This is an Earth New Moon, so feet flat on the floor.

Three slow breaths. Breathe in clarity. Release confusion. Breathe in strength. Release what is not yours to carry (these can be said out loud or silently "I breath in clarity", etc).

On a piece of clean paper - maybe WRITE the wound ie "a pattern that keeps recurring for me is ...." don't over think this. Just let your hand move over the paper. Then on that same piece of paper - identify the labor and what it can help heal collectively, so for example if the wound was “doing too much,” your labor might be “share the load, trust others to step in.” Don't overthink this either.

LIGHT THE CANDLE and maybe say out loud something like - "this wound is not a weakness; it is the path of my labor. As I heal it in myself, I intentionally weave healing into the collective."

Fold your paper and place it under the stone (Saturn) - grounding your intention. Dip your fingers in the water (Neptune) and touch the paper or stone - blessing your labor with flow and inspiration. Imagine this wound-labor thread rising into the kite of the chart and being lifted by the collective winds (the Grand Air Trine!).

Blow out the candle and maybe say something like, "what is mine to carry, I carry. What is not mine, I release."

I am going to leave my paper under the stone until the next Full Moon in two weeks. That Moon is a Full Moon in fiery Aries and I will burn the paper then.

Let's see how this goes guys, especially the next couple weeks, we have a challenging Mars/Pluto square coming once Mars gets into Scorpio (also happening right after this New Moon) - it is clear as day - as divided as we might look, we are all in this together

xo all - please excuse typos and nonsense :)
