OK, it's game on now folks. This New Moon is going to be a multi-parter because I can't just write about the New Moon this month. I have to write about the ... play/the game/the FIGHT.
It's not a coincidence we have a New Moon in Gemini - on Trump's Sun (his 80th birthday) and Flag Day with a UFC fight on the White House lawn inside a freshly built structure Trump seems dead set on keeping - an Octagon CAGE.
WITH Uranus/Trump (Trump born with a Sun/North Node/Uranus activated now, although he has been playing Uranus his whole life) squaring the Nodes of Fate - a crossroads, a timeline shift, a literal THRESHOLD MOMENT.
Let's start with the OCTAGON.
UFC fights - controversial no holds barred 'cage' fights reminiscent of Ancient Rome are held in a structure officially called the OCTAGON.
The octagon is an 8-sided structure (Trump's 80th) - in numerology, 8 is the power number of karma, cycles and cosmic law. It governs material mastery, power structures and the long arc of consequence. The figure-8 lying on its side is the symbol of infinity and eternal return, used in Tarot (the Magician/Mercury/Hermes) to denote MASTERY OVER CYCLICAL FORCES. In Chinese metaphysics, 8 is considered the most auspicious number, associated with abundance and the Ba Gua (eight trigrams of the I Ching). The iChing is arguably the most sophisticated octagonal cosmological map ever devised.
In Feng Shui, the Ba Gua octagon is literally overlaid onto physical spaces to read and redirect energy. It speaks of the eight directions, the eight elemental forces (Heaven, Earth, Water, Fire, Thunder, Wind/Wood, Mountain, Lake), time cycles, family dynamics, body parts and areas of life.
The OCTAGON appears obsessively in sacred building across cultures and the reason is cosmological/astrological - the octagon is the geometric bridge between the square (earth, the manifest, the four directions) and the circle (heaven, the infinite, the divine). Eight points is the THRESHOLD SHAPE. Baptisteries in early Christianity are almost always octagonal, so you pass through the 8-sided space to be reborn. Death of the old self, birth of the new. The Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem is octagonal. Islamic geometric art centers octagons as expressions of divine order radiating outward. Medieval chapter houses (where monks gathered for sacred conversations) are overwhelmingly octagonal.
4/square is earthly, circle is divine, 8/octagon is between worlds.
Astrologically - the 8th house is Pluto's domain of death and transformation. The 8th harmonic in astrology (the semi-square, 45-degrees, and sesquiquadrate, 135-degrees) are both derived by dividing the circle by 8. They're considered by some astrologers to carry Uranian/Plutonic energy ie friction, activation, transformation through tension. The 8th harmonic chart emphasizes this quality. Venus's cycle traces a near-perfect pentagram over 8 years, and the 8-year Venus return cycle was sacred to multiple ancient cultures (The 5/8 relationship puts you in Fibonacci/golden ratio territory too.). The Star of Ishtar/Inanna - the primary symbol of the planet Venus in Mesopotamian astrology - is an 8-pointed star. Venus as the octagon's planetary ruler is a possibility ...
If we were to assign the octagon a metaphysical role, it's consistently the shape of transformation and THRESHOLD ENERGY.
It's not the stable earth of the square or the perfection of the circle. It feels like almost certainly the space IN BETWEEN. Which makes it quietly powerful for anything involving death/rebirth cycles, Venus cycles, karmic completion (8), or the moment of crossing over from one world-order to the next. Ahem.
The UFC fighting cage is literally called The Octagon.
So we have an 80-year-old (the 8, karma, cycles, cosmic law) presiding over the construction of THE liminal threshold shape on the most symbolically loaded lawn in the country - on his birthday, which falls on the Gemini New Moon, which is also Flag Day. The octagon in sacred architecture is the between-worlds shape. The baptistery. The passage.
What gets born or initiated inside an octagon doesn't stay what it was.
New Moons are always seed moments. Something is always being planted in the dark. Gemini rules things like the twin nature (two faces, two truths), information, narrative, the story, physical tech/hardware, thresholds and crossroads (Mercury the ruler of Gemini is the trickster God, escort between worlds, Magician in tarot/the infinity 8 symbol).
A birthday on a New Moon means his solar return and the lunation are conjunct, Trump's personal cycle and the collective cycle begin together. That's not nothing folks.
The Flag Day connection - the U.S. flag was officially adopted June 14, 1777. This is also a symbolic national birthday moment - the country's emblematic identity being honored on the same day. So, there will be a FIGHT inside a sacred threshold shape, witnessed by thousands, televised to millions, on a New Moon in Gemini (24 degrees, the Mars of the Idaho four murder chart, conjunct Bundy's Uranus, we see the 20-something Gemini degrees all over murder/mayhem charts) on our 80-year-old President's birthday, on an American anniversary (as we await a bigger one), a President who is a human stand-in for Uranus/the planet of chaos ad disruption who happens to be squaring the Nodes of Fate and waiting for Mars arrival on the 4th of July which is the United States 250th birthday.
WTH is happening.
On one level this is some kind of establishment of combat as cosmological ordering/rite of masculinity. Ancient cultures did this constantly. The king's vitality proven through spectacle. The kingdom's health demonstrated through controlled violence. The crowd witnessing the fight participates in the ritual whether they know it or not. The octagon consecrates it. But there are deeper/darker levels to this, too. We're not just watching a fight, so please don't, I WON'T BE.
Something is being declared, claimed, performed for the UNIVERSE/for some thing.
The symbolism isn't subtle. It's right in our faces.
