chiron into taurus until 2033 | june 2026 (the summer sneak-peek) - welcome to the garden

In just a couple weeks Chiron is going to leave Aries (where he has been during this entire tumultuous time period since 2019) and enter Taurus.

This will be a 'sneak-peek' prequel visit since his retrograde in the fall will bring him back into Aries (to finish up) and then Chiron will return to Taurus in the spring of 2027 and remain there until 2033.

This is a HUGE deal. I wrote about Chiron in Aries back in 2019 HERE.

If Chiron in Aries was about healing our right to be (and we can see all the expected and unexpected ways this has been playing out for all of us)Chiron in Taurus feels like healing our right to HAVE.

Have a BODY. Have NEEDS. Have RESOURCES. Have VALUE.

HAVE ENOUGH.

If Chiron in Aries was the warrior learning self-love, maybe Chiron in Taurus is the gardener learning self-worth.

People born with Chiron in Taurus are about 50 years old now and will be having their Chiron returns (Chiron returning to the degree of your natal chart) over the next few years, but all of our natal Chirons will be impacted as transiting Chiron changes signs this month. Aries wounds through rejection, attack, competition, abandonment. Taurus wounds through deprivation, insecurity, instability, betrayal of trust, loss of safety. Aries says, "I exist. I am." Taurus says, "I deserve. I have". Taurus is our collective second house, the next step on the path/rung on the ladder of life.

Although for many years Taurus was the most stable space in our charts, Chiron is entering Taurus after YEARS of tremendous Taurian disruption from the planet Uranus - who has been in Taurus since 2019, but has just recently left Taurus for Gemini (everything perfectly timed for us as always!).

We can think of Uranus as tilling the soil and getting the space ready for Chiron. Breaking up the old roots. Turning over the rocks. Destabilizing our fixed earth Taurus house/what we thought was secure. Our Taurus house theme. Our money. Banking. Food systems. Property. The physical body. The natural world/the Earth. Our VALUES. Our self-esteem. This has all been shaken up. Chiron arrives NOT TO RESTORE THE OLD GROUND, but to help us grow roots in a changing world.

Now Chiron arrives to help us HEAL what Uranus exposed - help us understand why all this shaking has been NECESSARY! He shows up, NOT TO RESTORE THE OLD GROUND, but to help us grow roots in a changing world.

I believe, as spiritual beings, we came here with a game plan - a blueprint, a set of guidelines for our life arranged in a language of patterns and archetypes. Some of our blueprints are very specific. Most are specific in some areas and more general in others.

Our natal astrology chart is a complicated set of specifications designed to build up an individual and run him/her. Like we would build a car or 3D print a Christmas ornament, except our "blueprints" are a map of our consciousness.

Unlike a machine, we always have the choice to become more conscious - more than our blueprints (free will) but without our blueprints we can't gain entrance here to life on planet Earth. They anchor us in time and space. It may seem impossible to believe, that you, that I, that all of us, came into being with a plan/possibility for Chiron (discovered in 1977, so not even knowable when many of us were born) to move into the Taurus room in our "blueprint" in 2026 - to heal the wounds we are holding/hiding here. And all the actions we have taken up until now have prepared us for just this very thing.

There is a reason the symbol for Chiron looks like a key. Chiron's orbit takes him between Saturn and Uranus - he is like a portal between Saturn's reality and Uranus's awakening energies - the two signs that rule Aquarius. It is not a coincidence he is such an important player as we move into the New Age of Aquarius (note the "key" is a grouping of the letters O and K - originally called Object Kowal after discoverer Charles Kowal who then synchronistically named his find Chiron after the most famous centaur). Also NOTE - another thing about this Chiron "key" - it doesn't open the door we expected. It opens the door we need.

There are as many ways Chiron in Taurus can play out as there are people on this planet.

Some word salads using the archetypes and energies involved might be - Healing (Chiron) poverty consciousness (Taurus). Healing through nature. Healing through gardening. Healing through food. Healing through touch. Healing body shame. Healing body dysmorphia. Healing scarcity. Healing hoarding. Healing over-attachment. Healing through art. Healing through beauty. Healing through craftsmanship. Healing through simplicity. Healing through learning our true value. Healing inherited beliefs around money. Healing ancestral survival trauma. Healing the wound that says there is never enough. Healing the wound that says we are never enough. Healing through slowing down. Healing through the Earth herself.

One image that keeps coming to me is that Chiron in Aries heals the wound of the first breath and Chiron in Taurus heals the wound of the first mealAries asks, "Do I have the right to exist?" Taurus asks, "Will life sustain me once I do?"

For many people, the deepest Taurus wound is not lack itself. It is the expectation of lack. It's our body bracing for impact. It's the sense that something essential could be taken away at any moment. It's our inability to rest because survival feels conditional.

There is also something profoundly feminine about this transit as Chiron stops answering to Mars and starts answering to Venus. Moves from fire to air, from the masculine to the feminine. If Aries is the hero's journey. Then Taurus might be the goddess's garden. Where we build the kind of strength that creates rather than conquers. The kind of strength that knows when enough is enough - over plant in a garden and everything dies. The kind of strength that understands value is not measured by speed. It's not passive or weak - it's FERTILE!

And because Taurus is Venus-ruled, Chiron's healing work becomes less about action and more about attraction. More resonance and less force. Think about that Taurus bull. We live in a world where we have come to picture the bull as charging at the matador's red cape, but what the bull actually does for most of his life is GRAZE (and create babies). The bull doesn't chase. The bull attracts. The bull understands that abundance comes through patience.

Chironic healing doesn't mean the wounded space just disappears. Like a scar left after a deep cut, there is something about the wound we have to learn to live with. The healing comes through acceptance which shifts our energy and we become like a BEACON attracting others with similar wounds (the way a recovering alcoholic can help an alcoholic in ways no one else can).

Aries teaches us to fight for what we need/to take action to get it. Taurus teaches us to receive it. And many of us discover these are entirely different skills!

Instead of -"How do I get what I need?" maybe the question now becomes - "Why do I believe I cannot receive what I need?"

In Aries, the natural opposition to Libra kept our relational wounds mirrored back to us through other people. There has been alot of relationship woundings, men vs women, etc. In Taurus, the mirror energy will be Scorpio (which is kind of like Libra taken one step further) - more intimate, more subterranean. Scorpio rules what we share ie shared resources/money, shared bodies, shared power. The Chiron in Taurus years will reveal exactly where we surrendered our worth for the promise of security and exactly where we hoarded it out of fear of loss. Both sides of this wound will surface. Both are asking for the same medicine - TRUST OURSELVES.  KNOW OUR VALUE.

After years of Chiron in Aries teaching courage, initiative, and self-definition, there is something almost merciful about the next lesson starting with - "you can put the sword down now." This isn't because the battle wasn't necessary. IT WAS. This is because the battle was never the destination. The destination was always the GARDEN. That feels especially resonant with Chiron because Chiron himself was a teacher, healer, and keeper of sacred knowledge and asteroid Chiron was discovered when Chiron was in Taurus. Chiron, himself, the centaur the asteroid is named for - isn't remembered for conquering kingdoms (see the end of post for his story). He is remembered for what he cultivated.

Chiron in Taurus feels very naturally Chironic. The wound and the medicine found in the same place. And maybe that is the deepest Chiron/Taurus lesson because the Earth has never questioned her worth. The oak tree does not earn the right to grow. The rose does not earn the right to bloom. The river does not earn the right to flow. Only us humans seem to believe our value must be proven! Chiron in Taurus may spend eight years helping us remember otherwise ....

By the time Chiron moves on to Gemini in 2033, we will have done something the Hero's Journey could not do for us. We will have learned - not in our mind, but in our body, in our bones, in the place where ancestral memory lives - that we are inherently, unconditionally, un-earnably VALUABLE.

(this may be the actual lesson of AI in the end)

Not because of what we have done or what we have accumulated. And not because of what anyone, in any lifetime, decided about us. Simply because we are here/rooted/alive. Blooming in our own particular way, in our own particular season, in the patch of earth that was always, only, OURS.

No one is you.

In Aries, that was our superpower. In Taurus, it becomes our birthright.

Welcome to the Garden :)

xo all

and because Venus is about to meet Jupiter (that whole 'luckiest day of the year thing, we need to, sort of, put to bed), the Chiron/Taurus story actually starts next week - that post (Venus/Jupiter) next!

NOTE - Chiron will enter Taurus on June 19th. He will square Jupiter on July 1st and station retrograde on August 3rd - still at 0-degrees Taurus! He will re-enter Aries on September 17th to finish up Aries, trine Jupiter on January 3rd, station direct on January 6th at 26 degrees Aries and return to taurus on April 14, 2027 - so Chiron will be back on April 14th, 2027, where he will be on June 19th, 2026 - and all of us will be, too - OLDER AND WISER.

CHIRON'S STORY - Chiron was the most famous centaur (half man/half horse). While his wild brethren were ruled by instinct and appetite - notorious for drunkenness and violence - Chiron was wise, gentle and gifted. He was the son of the titan Kronos (Saturn), who seduced the ocean nymph Philyra by transforming himself into a horse. When Philyra saw the strange hybrid creature she had given birth to, she was so horrified that she abandoned him. This original wound of abandonment and otherness runs as a thread through everything Chiron becomes and through humanity itself. He was taken in and raised by Apollo, the Sun God, who recognized in this unusual creature something extraordinary and tutored him. Chiron became a master of - medicine, music, archery/defense, prophecy/astrology and the arts and he became the most celebrated teacher of heroes in all of Greek mythology. Achilles, Hercules, Jason, Asclepius, all passed through his tutelage. And yet, for all his healing gifts, Chiron could not heal himself. When he was accidentally struck by one of Hercules' arrows, poisoned with the blood of the Hydra, a wound so agonizing and so permanent that this immortal being, who could not die, eventually begged to. Zeus/Jupiter, with compassion, granted him mortality and he was released from his suffering via changing places with Prometheus on that rock. After his death Chiron was placed among the stars as the constellation Sagittarius (or Centaurus, depending on the tradition). His myth is rich with themes of abandonment, adoption, very old unhealed wounds, things we can heal in others but not ourselves, sacrifice, his orbit takes him from Uranus/very old trauma to Saturn/reality and he holds the space in our natal child by sign and house of a very old/ancient wound.
