OK guys are we ready for this - into the Eclipse spin cycle we go!

The Universe determined to spit us out in a couple weeks quite differently than the way we went in. We can see there is a lot going on - look at all these aspects! - and we have the first Solar Eclipse in Leo since 2017's Great American Eclipse and it's HUGE.

We start the week with Mercury in Leo - I think I missed that last week - Mercury moved into Leo on Sunday, August 9th, so let's start there and then instead of by day we will plot this week by planet.

MERCURY - after weeks of back and forth (since June 1st), Mercury finally says hasta-la-vista, baby to emotional Cancer and hello to fiery LEO on Sunday. Leo is the space we carry what 'makes us special'. It also speaks of our relationship to special/to royalty/to the king. With Mercury (communication, intellect) here, it will be easier to put our 'special' into words and to connect with the ideas and conversations that will push forward whatever we are most passionate about.

We will want our words to be heard and appreciated now. Even the most reticent among us will want an audience. Our thinking/ideas (Mercury) can catch fire (Leo). Or we will want them to. Leo is a fixed fire sign, so words can burn and words can dig us even more rigidly into our positions.  With Leo there is great opportunity for win-win and also for 'nobody wins'. The energy is excellent for teaching us how we express what we are passionate about. It's very supportive of 'top of the mountain' heart-filled type of proclamations and proposals.

Do people listen to us? Does what we say matter? We will care about this now.

Speaking from our hearts will connect us to other people's hearts. Encouraging words will matter. This is very powerful energy. Leo is our superpower and should be used wisely. People will hear us with their heart and well as their head. This gives the potential for hearts to expand as well as to be broken into little, tiny pieces. Keep this in mind. Mercury is going to fly through Leo and will be in Virgo by August 25th.

Mercury in Leo wants to speak without apology and he immediately runs into this square with Chiron. Squares are tension/frustration. Chiron/Mercury can be about painful words/news/health situations, but there can also be something tender about Mercury speaking from the heart - especially where self-worth, being heard or feeling entitled to take up space/be special are concerned. Last Friday, we had Venus inconjunct Chiron and this could be connected to then - something uncomfortable from that now put into words with courage.

So, whatever gets said this week out of a Leo mouth is going to have a slight limp to it - a truth trying to come out past a space that's been told before that claiming things costs too much. The sign of unapologetic self-expression opens by tripping over the sign of "am I allowed to have this?"

Then Mercury opposes Pluto and almost immediately trines Neptune. The wounded voice encounters power (as an obstacle maybe, but still there is access) and then discovers imagination/intuition (sometimes escape). Pluto can expose where words have become weapons, where we are trying to control a narrative or where something beneath the words wants to be seen and acknowledged. Neptune then opens our aperture - there is more to the story than the struggle for control.

And because Mercury sextiles Uranus and Venus shortly afterward, the mind gets progressively freer.

Maybe there is flow from "can I say this?" to "what happens if I say this?" to "what becomes possible when I say this?" Think about it.

At the same time Mercury is doing his thing, VENUS, who is very strong in her home sign of Libra is having a remarkable run.

From her home sign of Libra - she trines Pluto, opposes Neptune then trines Uranus. That's almost a chapter in itself!

Venus/Pluto - desire intensifies/something matters more than we thought it did.
Venus/Neptune - ideals, longing, fantasy, compassion but also the possibility of seeing what we want to see, confusion, escape, dissolution
Venus/Uranus - liberation, surprise, a break from an old relational or beauty pattern.

I wouldn't read the Neptune opposition simply as "confusion" although it could be confusing. It may be about the dissolving of an old picture of what love, beauty, partnership, pleasure or value is supposed to look like. And then that is followed by Uranus asking us to imagine something less conventional and more liberating. Collectively this about relationships, partnerships, balance - your natal Libra house theme will also apply. Excellent energy for change!

And we have MARS - because he doesn't want to miss out - entering Cancer with CERES and both trining the North Node. Traditionally Mars is seen as fallen in Cancer answering to the Moon. Ceres/the mama bear would no doubt do well in Cancer for all the reasons Mars might not. I know quite a few very successful Mars in Cancer people, they do seem to do better with ceratin lunar placemnts though. At this point as Mars and Ceres start answering to Luna, she is in Leo. Anyway, Mars/Ceres in Cancer are immediately sextiling Chiron. Healing actions are nourishing/nurturing. Keep in mind Chiron has just stationed retrograde last week/is standing still so very strong - old wounds are being strongly felt now (this can also show up as health situations) and he is interacting with multiple personal planets last week and this week!

Mars has spent the last few weeks in Gemini moving through that Uranian/mentally stimulated territory and finally at 29-degrees Gemini/the last moment/the 'hail mary' style play, he trines (brakes off) the North Node at 29-degrees Aquarius. This is a "move toward the future" aspect - an idea, conversation, decision or piece of information can propel something forward.

Then Mars crosses into Cancer and quickly sextiles Chiron. The action becomes personal and protective. Cancer Mars isn't necessarily about charging outward. It can be about defending what is vulnerable, protecting home and family, tending to what needs tending or finally acting on an emotional truth/maybe something quite old and deeply rooted. AND he is strengthened by mama-bear Ceres by his side. Mars plus Ceres moving into the sign of nourishment, protection, mothering, home, belonging and emotional memory right as the Leo eclipse resets something about identity. WTH, folks!

:

Who am I? What do I love/need to create? What am I willing to protect?

JUNO, who is doing her dance with death/Pluto this summer demanding partnership transformations backs into Capricorn. Juno is the archetype of commitment, covenant and the terms of partnerships that give us power/stability.

What actually constitutes a commitment? What structures have we built around our agreements? Which responsibilities are legitimate and which have simply become habits? She has been detaching and intellectualizing in Aquarius and now she sobers up/feels the reality of Cappy. Juno was here the first time - because remember she is retrograde now - back near the Spring Equinox in March, so we are revising something from that time period.

This feels less like establishing a new contract and more like revisiting the terms of an existing one. There's a kind of echo here with Venus moving through Libra - relationship is being reconsidered simultaneously on the level of desire (Venus) and commitment/structure (Juno).

AND we have the BIG SOLAR ECLIPSE which will have its own post next. This is the first Solar Eclipse visible in mainland Europe since 1999!

FINALLY - Mercury conjuncts Jupiter at 10 degrees Leo - this is Trump's Pluto and Vance's Sun! What are we looking at here on top of this huge Solar Eclipse on both their charts - as well as Netanyahu's, Putin's, King Charles, too many to list! Does Trump's power pass to Vance? Yes, I think so. Something like that STARTS right here with this conjunction within a couple days of the Eclipse. And then the Eclipse energizes how and when this plays out - more on that post next.

For all of us, after Mercury has gone through Chiron, Pluto, Neptune, Uranus and Venus he/she arrives at Jupiter. That's a BIG mind. Ideas expand. A conversation can become a vision. Something we have been trying to articulate suddenly becomes much easier to understand. There can be enthusiasm, confidence, humor, creativity and a willingness to think bigger.

This can be the discovery that our own voice is larger than we thought it was. Good news can come in. Courageous conversations. Loving words. Fun can be had. BIG fun. Just keep in mind we are deep in the Eclipse spin cycle by this time - in between two powerful Eclipses/on the FATE TRAIN. Anything can happen.

And then wait there is one more piece on Sunday I almost missed. Mars in Cancer inconjuncts Pluto. Mars is very near my Moon here, so maybe why I am avoiding this :) This is also Prince William's Moon, so the same passage from Trump to Vance is working with him and his father. The Mercury/Jupiter is also the exact midpoint of King Charles Ascendent/Pluto and the Solar Eclipse is conjunct his first house Pluto.

For all of us this is the unresolved piece/what shows no pink bow/fairy tale ending right now. Mars says - I need to protect this. And Pluto, always looking at what we don't want to look at - asks what Mars is really protecting?

The quincunx/inconjunct requires adjustment rather than confrontation. Cancer can become so identified with its particular people that it has difficulty seeing beyond that and Aquarius can become so identified with the collective that it loses touch with the particular human beings standing right in front of it. Aquarius may be transforming the world, but Cancer keeps asking - yes, but what happens to the person??

Collectively this may be something like - how does this new version of me fit into the larger transformation occurring around me? HUGE week folks and we haven't even talked about the biggest part of it yet/the Total Solar Eclipse!

xo all - back with that Eclipse post, hopefully tomorrow.
