This week's Lunar Eclipse Full Moon is our final Pisces Eclipse in the 18-month cycle of the North Node in Pisces (our way forward) and South Node in Virgo (where we are/what we have done and especially what we have over-done). Full Moons bring things to a peak energy, to a culmination, to a CONCLUSION and this one will be a doozy.
We started this Pisces/Virgo cycle back in September of 2024. I wrote about it HERE. During that Eclipse the North Node was still in Aries and the future was reaching back and pulling us forward, now this whole thing has reversed course because the North Node isn't in Pisces anymore it's in Aquarius. This time it is the past that is biting at our ankles.
If that sounds like we are putting something to bed at this Eclipse ... well, hmm. Yes, we should be - this is Pisces after all. But is this the end of the chapter? Well, maybe, not quite yet.
Because in February 2027 we will have a Virgo Lunar Eclipse with the Moon in Virgo and the Sun in Pisces within spitting distance of where they are now, except they will have SWITCHED PLACES.
AND on that same day, February 20th, 2027, Jupiter will be exactly where the Moon/Sun were at last week's Solar Eclipse in Leo. We talked about that one HERE. AND both this week's Lunar Eclipse in Pisces and next winter's Lunar Eclipse in Virgo will form a T-Square with "let's blow this whole thing up and try something else" Uranus in Gemini. Oh my.
Eclipses are FATED and bring a FOCUS to certain areas of our lives, AND the very nature of Eclipses says that SOMETHING IS HIDDEN. It is not usually the best time to rush into things because so much will be in-flux and uncertain, but life sometimes has a way of forcing our hands with this. Past patterns that maybe once worked for us, but no longer do, often come up to be worked with and often Eclipsed out. Collectively we often find during a Solar Eclipse a powerful solar figure/father/leader leaves and during a Lunar Eclipse like this week a powerful lunar/often female figure leaves.
The Pisces/Virgo opposition is about letting go vs battening down the hatches. The big picture we can feel vs the nitty gritty minutia we can touch. Faith and magic vs practicality. Compassion vs criticism. Vacation and relaxation vs work. Letting things go vs cleaning up our act. Addiction and self-sabotage vs a healthy routine. It's God/the big unknown vs the "devil that's in the details". Of course, these 'opposites' are really two sides of the same coin.
OK, this chart is complicated, so let's get moving. Let's unpack the chart!
The Full Moon opposes the Sun who is conjunct Mercury. The Moon sits exact with asteroid Diana. The Moon squares Uranus, tightly applying, and forms a T-Square to Uranus in Gemini with the Sun/Mercury. The opposition also forms the spine of a Yod involving Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius and if that isn't enough. we also have a 'Hammer of Thor' created by the Moon square Uranus with both sesquisquare to Venus.
The Sun sits with Mercury. Mercury sits in the heart of the Sun. They meet about 11 hours before the Eclipse. Just keep in mind that timing is tricky and symbolic especially with Eclipses. CLARITY ARRIVES. Something becomes visible. Collectively this is the SUN, so about 'an old way of seeing ourselves'. Mercury has just moved into our collective house of work and daily life and now meets the Sun - the emphasis has just shifted from who am I trying to be? to what needs my attention? We may suddenly see a particular habit, weakness or recurring problem with unusual clarity - along with a practical way to begin changing or re-framing it.
This Mercury/Sun conjunction is the Superior Conjunction part of Mercury's cycle. The Superior Conjunction is itself a kind of Full Moon moment and then it is happening at an actual Full Moon which is also an Eclipse!
The "clarity" here isn't a bolt out of nowhere.
This is something that's been assembling quietly (Mercury's been building toward this since the last inferior conjunction in Cancer on July 13th) and now becomes undeniable, in full view, right as the Virgo/Pisces axis reaches its own breaking point. The story we have been using to make sense of something no longer holds or maybe the framework we have been using to make sense of something no longer fits what we know. This part of the cycle is not new data appearing from outside (we will get to that though with the Uranus square from Gemini!), it's stuff that was already accumulating finally becoming VISIBLE. With Mercury's inferior conjunction having happened in Cancer - and keep in mind the superior now is happening in practical Virgo - there are deep roots to whatever this is. Connections to memory, our foundation, the past, maybe to home, family, parental structure.
And an important thing to note here about CLARITY - clarity doesn't necessarily tell us what to do. It shows us something. It tells us what we can no longer pretend not to see. Eclipses are not great decision times because something is always hidden. And with this one, with Mercury in square to Uranus in Gemini, our mind will find reasons to go in different directions. Slow down.
OK.
Then we get the Eclipse. The Moon in Pisces opposes the Sun and this happens close enough to the Nodes of the Moon to create an Eclipse. The Moon orbits through the Earth's shadow and appears orange/red - a blood Moon. During these blockages, powerful portals are opened - we get a cosmic reset, much like a computer being turned off and back on and the program that uploads at restart is a little bit (or quite a lot) different than the one we ran on before. Eclipses change us, and we (vibrating differently) change our circumstances by attracting or repelling what our new self, ie new vibration lines up with. Then, in the hours immediately following the eclipse, the Moon squares Uranus, then Mercury squares Uranus and finally the Sun squares Uranus that evening.
The squares to Uranus create a T-Square. T-Squares are points of tension/crisis. There are three kinds of T-Squares. For example a Cardinal T-square (say, Aries/Cancer/Libra/Capricorn energy) tends to force an event - a decision, an action, a door closing. Something has to happen, visibly, and it has to happen now. A Fixed T-square (Taurus/Leo/Scorpio/Aquarius) tends to force a standoff. Something has to be held under pressure until it either fractures or transforms, often with real resistance and real stakes about identity or control. Both of those read, in the body and in the news cycle, as some kind of rupture - a break, a before-and-after, something snaps.
The T-Square happening now is different. It is a Mutable T-Square. Mutable signs don't hold shape that way. Gemini, Virgo, Pisces (and the missing Sagittarius corner of this thing) are the signs of transition, translation, dissolution and meaning-making. They're built to bend and adapt rather than to fracture or break. So, when Uranus lands at the apex of a mutable T-square, the disruption it brings might not announce itself as an event we can point to.
It might just show up as a shift in perception - information arrives that changes how we read something we thought we already understood. Mercury's there (discernment), Neptune's dispositor chain is running underneath (dissolving of an old story), and the whole set-up is geared toward reorganizing understanding rather than breaking something apart.
But even with me saying this we will keep in mind that Uranus is very UNPREDICTABLE. We cannot script the form this takes. Uranus can still surprise us, destabilize us/bring something entirely unexpected from outside our carefully constructed understanding. But to me (because I can only read this chart through my own eyes and with my own understanding and biases) the mutable nature of this T-square suggests that the deeper disruption may be less about something breaking out there than it is about something breaking open in the way we understand what is happening. This entire Eclipse cycle beginning with the Leo Eclipse two weeks ago has been a time for important, life-changing BREAKTHROUGHS.
With the Moon exactly conjunct asteroid Diana, and we will get to this in Part II, there is something seeking liberation here and playing out over the next six months to a year something about "escaping from a narrow destiny".
Then we have the Yod (also called a Finger of God) - Neptune in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius and both quincunx/inconjunct the Sun and Mercury in Virgo. This is super-tight. And then the Moon is sitting directly opposite that apex. This is a Yod with a lunar boomerang and that changes the interpretation considerably. The base is Neptune/Pluto. THIS IS THE BIG COLLECTIVE STORYLINE. What new reality are we willing to IMAGINE? What has to fundamentally change in the collective structure? This is about the massive generational transformation we are all living through. This is about a new vision of identity meeting an insanely profound restructuring of collective systems, communities, technology and social organization. But neither Neptune or Pluto can easily "see" or work with the Virgo Sun and Mercury. An adjustment is required.
The apex i.e. the Sun/Mercury in practical Virgo says - well, it's all good and well to say the world is radically shifting, but how is this actually going to work for me? Something about the way we think, organize, analyze, work, decide and make meaning has to be radically adjusted to accommodate a reality that is shifting beneath our feet.
That is the pressure point of the Yod.
And then it doesn't just end there because THE MOON TOSSES THE QUESTION BACK to the Sun/Mercury and says - wait, a minute guys, you haven't finished yet!
The Virgo Sun/Mercury can be extraordinarily good at figuring something out. They make quite a team and can take a complicated situation and say: "Ah. I see what's happening." And then categorize and analyze and find the problem and make a plan. Sun/Mercury in Virgo figures out what needs to be fixed.
But the Pisces Moon asks a completely different question - what does this feel like? And sometimes the answer is - I don't want this to happen or I am sad or I am exhausted or I feel empty or I loved that life even though it wasn't working anymore or I understand why this has to end but I am not ready for it to end or I don't actually know who I am without this. THAT IS THE BOOMERANG.
We think we've gotten to the answer intellectually and the emotional truth comes back around and says, ok, well maybe not so fast buddy. The Pisces Moon isn't telling us to stop analyzing, but it is telling us that analysis isn't the whole story. The mind may know that something is over/dissolved/dissolving. And yes, this is about the little picture in our own lives and also the big picture that is the world we are used to and the Age of Pisces that we were all born into many, many times and that is now ending. The heart still has to live through the ending!
We can know this relationship isn't working and still love the person. We can know this job is no longer right for me and still grieve losing the identity/security/lifestyle it gave us. We can know we have to change. and still be afraid of what happens when we do. We can know this world isn't working, but fear what is going to happen to make it work. Our emotional response (Pisces Moon) isn't evidence that our intellectual conclusion (Virgo Sun/Mercury) was wrong. But it will not be pushed aside/ignored either. The Pisces Full Moon is always about some kind of SURRENDER.
So, we have a Yod/Finger of God that is saying clearly and supportively - the future is requiring an adjustment. Then Sun/Mercury in Virgo tries to make that adjustment intellectually - ok, I understand. Here is what needs to change. Then the Pisces Moon comes back across the axis - ok, now feel the cost of that change. NOT to stop the change because we can't - but to complete it.
Because if we don't actually feel what we're leaving, we can mistake detachment for release. And they are not the same thing any more than the Age of Aquarius will be the Age of Pisces. Detachment says - I understand why I shouldn't care anymore. Release says - I cared. It mattered. I grieve it. And I am willing to let it go anyway. This is the difference between Aquarius/detachment (where the North Node is now) and Pisces/release (where the cosmos has reached into the past to gift us with this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse).
AND THEN EVEN AFTER ALL OF THIS we still have the Uranian squares to deal with!
Because Uranus is squaring both sides of that conversation and he says well guys, what if the situation changes before you're done processing it!! That's the mutable T-square. It doesn't allow a tidy conclusion. We may think we've finally understood what something means and then new information arrives. Or our feelings change. Or circumstances change. Or someone says something. Or we suddenly see the entire thing from another angle.
Then there is the 'Hammer of Thor" (don't we love that name, but wth one more thing my head is going to explode!) created by the Moon square Uranus with both sesquisquare to Venus in Libra. And Thor's Hammer, Mjölnir, was not just a weapon. It was described as a "crusher" - a force capable of leveling mountains. It also had a remarkable property that made it even more special, because when Thor threw it, it always returned to his hand.
IT WAS A BOOMERANG. WTH people another boomerang!
So, we have the Sun/Mercury showing us something. Clarity. The Pisces Moon says, "Feel this." Uranus says: "Here's something you didn't know or didn't want to deal with." And where does all this energy go? VENUS IN LIBRA. RELATIONSHIPS. Attachment. Values. What we choose. What we love. What we want. Pleasure. Harmony. Reciprocity. Fairness. Beauty. Agreement. Our sense of what something is worth
And in Libra, Venus is in her own sign. So, this isn't a weak Venus receiving all this PRESSURE. This is a VERY STRONG VENUS. The pressure is being directed toward the question - What is actually worth maintaining? and maybe something like - What does real balance require? So, the eclipse may not give us a neat answer. But what does - some days I really miss tidy answers and one plus one equaling two! It may give us a revised understanding of the question.
And this is why I think Venus is much more important to the eclipse than she looks. Because Venus becomes the discharge point for the Moon/Uranus tension. The emotional disruption doesn't just remain emotional. It pushes toward a choice about relationship, value, attachment, balance. The future is pressing the Virgo mind to adjust. "You have to figure out how to live differently" and Thor's Hammer is the emotional disruption pressuring Venus to CHOOSE DIFFERENTLY. "You have to decide what and who still belongs in the life you're building."
AND there is actually a kind-of THIRD boomerang here because of that Virgo Lunar Eclipse next February where we are standing in almost the same place with the Sun and Moon having SWITCHED places. And Jupiter will be on the degree of that first Leo Eclipse a couple weeks ago AND multiple planets will be retrograde AND there will be another square to Uranus - the planet of chaos and change and ruler of the North Node in Aquarius.
So something from August comes back into the picture in February or somehow changes in February. And here is where I think the word BOOMERANG becomes almost too perfect. Because maybe what comes back isn't something we were trying to get rid of. Maybe it is something we actually wanted. Something we thought we had lost. Something we decided wasn't possible. Something we walked away from. Something we had to put down while we dealt with everything else. Or even an old version of ourselves that we thought was gone.
Jupiter can make something bigger, shinier, more rewarding, more flattering, more fun, more generous and more tempting. And sitting on the South Node degree of the Leo Eclipse, it may bring something familiar back into our field of vision with a very persuasive argument for why we should want it again.
"I know you said you were done with me... but look how fabulous I am now." :)
So, the test then isn't necessarily - can I recognize the old pattern? We probably can. The test may be - can I recognize the old pattern even when it looks like an excellent opportunity?" That is a much harder question. And the word 'test' isn't the right word, but I am blanking on it and also getting WAY ahead of myself here.
Let's stay in the shoes we are wearing now, in late August 2026, and take a look by sign and then I have a part II about the Diana aspect of this (liberation!) and my own chart as an example.
PISCES house - what's emotionally revealed or released. This is where the veil gets thin and it's happening in a space in our charts where the veil is already thin! It holds everything we can't see clearly from our perch in the 1st house including ancestral and past-life gifts and debts and this life's past. Whatever lives here has likely been dissolving quietly for quite a while. There's a story we've outgrown but haven't officially closed. The eclipse doesn't force it out. It just stops letting us look away from it. Expect less "confrontation" and more a wave of clarity about what we already, on some level, knew.
VIRGO house - where the news, information, or decision shows up. This is where we're handed the material to work with. Something arrives here needing to be sorted, refined, or decided on, and it's taking whatever's dissolving in our Pisces house and giving it a shape we can actually use. This house is where the eclipse asks us to be precise, not where it asks us to feel better.
GEMINI house - where the disruption comes from. This is the wildcard. Something shifts here fast, from outside our control, and - true to Gemini form - it likely won't be a single clean break (think about next February's reversal). Expect this to arrive in more than one piece - a second update, a follow-up conversation, a change that reveals itself in installments rather than all at once. It can also bring two separate disruptions.
Keep in mind this is a VERY EARLY DEGREE Eclipse (4-degrees Pisces) so you might have to look at the sign before or after your rising sign to be most exact. FOR EXAMPLE - I am a Scorpio rising, but 4 degrees Pisces is my 4th/not 5th house, and 4 degrees Virgo is my 10th/not 11th house, the Gemini house for me is correct. If you don't know your natal chart email me and I can look for you. Your Sun sign will always work regardless.
ARIES | Aries Rising, this is a 12th house Pisces Eclipse - something beneath the surface is coming into awareness/an ending, realization or emotional truth you can't keep pushing aside. 6th house Virgo - news or information about work, health, schedules or daily responsibilities brings clarity. 3rd house Gemini - a conversation, message, piece of information or change in your immediate environment may alter how you see the situation. This is the COLLECTIVE ENERGY (applies to everyone).

The longer question with all of this may be, when this comes back around, and something will, because we have THREE BOOMERANGS here - "will I recognize the difference between what I have outgrown and what I am finally ready to receive?"
