Today's Astrology Forecast | Friday, December 4th, 2020 - courage and risk, knowing your value, healing words, looking into what you've been avoiding, making time for some fun

The Moon in Cancer makes the rest of her oppositions in the early A.M. EST opposing first Jupiter (1:52AM) and then Saturn (5:29AM). We won't have a Moon at home in Cancer opposing a Saturn at home in Capricorn for 28 years after this morning! Here's to that! She goes void off that Saturn opposition and will be void until 7:53AM EST when she moves into Leo.

Our focus shifts to creative projects, romance, children, recreation, fun, our need for courage, what our heart desires, our natural white-hot SPOTLIGHT.

From Leo she will trine (brakes off) Mercury in Sagittarius at 4:51PM EST - this is good news/maybe even something to celebrate. There is a square to a retrograde Uranus at 9:37PM EST, so there could be something unexpected and potentially frustrating to close out the day.

This is also the day Mercury trines Chiron. Words/information that is healing. Chiron is retrograde so this conversation/news could have its roots in an old situation. Maybe words we once needed to hear, but didn't, we are hearing now (maybe not from the same person/situation). With Mercury squaring Ceres at the same time, words that are preachy/pushy/overly enthusiastic will not be helpful.

Use the trine to Chiron for a brave conversation or to look into information you have been avoiding.

This aspect can also produce a sudden epiphany - now, we get it. Here is why XYZ had to happen. To get us here.

Old hurts can be healed if we allow it.

Maybe through a process of discovery. Or maybe even sometimes - Just. Like. That (snaps fingers).

This probably won't be totally comfortable and Sag/Aries (not to mention that Leo Moon) requires some courage/some risk! Be confident.

Also have some fun this weekend - a Sag Sun and Leo Moon (the last before our monthly Leo Moons start opposing Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius - those Cappy planets have to go somewhere!) - demand some fun!

Today's Astrology Forecast | Thursday, December 3, 2020 - feeling testy, needing a break, challenged by stuff outside our control, taking care of ourselves

Today is all about our Cancer Moon. She will square Mars (in Aries) at 8:28AM EST, trine Neptune at 9:32AM EST and finally oppose Pluto at 7:21PM EST.

That square to Mars makes us testy/uncomfortable. Irritable. Moody. Get some exercise. The trine to Neptune might feel good, but could also make us tired/lazy/tend to drift off-course. Meditate. Pray. The opposition to Pluto speaks of a power play. Feelings of insecurity are triggered as something outside our control is upsetting our apple cart. How many apples get spilled may depend on how well we are handling our responsibilities/taking care of business or if we have been abdicating/projecting our authority onto someone/something else.

Tomorrow the Moon moves on to oppose Jupiter and Saturn for one final time from her home sign in Cancer. Next time the Moon is in Cancer, Jupiter and Saturn won't be. It will be the first time in almost three years we will have a Moon in Cancer (next month) without these powerful oppositions.

Home will start to feel like home again. Let that sink in.

For now, we need to be taking care of ourselves.

Prioritize nurturing, self-care, our close relationships and commitments. A little escape through that Neptune trine may be needed.

With the Sun in Sagittarius and the Moon in Cancer (a natural inconjunct) it is possible to keep our feet on the ground and our hands in the air without taking off or falling over, but it will take a little efforting. Keep in mind the dance between Cancer's need to keep us safe at any cost and Sag's need for a bigger bite of that apple. Also keep in mind with today's lunar squares and oppositions we are attracting problems/challenges in keeping with the abilities of our natal Moon which might not be (and probably isn't) in Cancer. Where is your natal/progressed Moon and how are you feeding her?

the Astrology of December 2020 | part I - the king is dead, long live the king, past the point we always died before, it's a whole new world

The dailies are a bit tricky for me right now since I am like that sleepless bread maker these days, although working with metal instead of yeast (trying to not burn my house down since we lost the shop), but still without much time for my fun-stuff like this blog. December is a HUGE month though, so let's look a bit ahead and I will pop in here with new posts as often as possible!

December launched on the back of November 30th's lunar Eclipse at 8 degrees Gemini. We talked about it HERE

Decisions, ideas, information. Mercury (ruler of Gemini) was deep in Scorpio and sextiling both Pallas and Saturn. We need to be doing the wise/practical thing now. A sextile here to healing Chiron. An awkward inconjunct between the Sun (in Sag) and future-focused/chaotic Uranus (in Taurus). Sagittarius brings the optimism/adventurous spirit - it gets things moving/gets us looking ahead. We need Taurus, determined to hold onto what he has, to understand what can be gained from these activities AND still manage, being Taurus and all, to hold the reins in such a way as to prevent extreme action, just yet. It takes us knowing there is SOMETHING around that blind corner (which we can't yet see because ... well, because it's a blind corner) coupled with the self-discipline (to not dig our heels into something dead and mushy that we somehow think we need even though it won't support us anyway) to make these energies work.

Then Mercury comes up from Scorpio and enters Sagittarius. So now we have the Sun and Mercury in the sign of the archer. There is some kind of hopefulness here. Something greater. We talked about this HERE.

On DECEMBER 4TH - Mercury, in Sagittarius now, so more optimistic/thinking BIGGER, trines Chiron in Aries. Collectively Mercury is activating Sag issues - expansion, that greener grass over there, our big-picture beliefs, what is foreign to us, travel, politics, religion, the media, publishing, weddings, legal issues. Something here, maybe a conversation or some information is healing. We are now thinking we can do this thing/take care of ourselves/be ourselves. Or maybe a vulnerability triggers a healing conversation - we don't have to have all the answers. What a relief. We'll leave that to Google.

On DECEMBER 5TH - Venus in Scorpio is trining Neptune in Pisces. Venus is exalted in Pisces, so she likes any contact and particularly a powerful trine. She (as we) can work her magic here. She expands relationships, money and self-esteem. Opportunities increase. Resistance dissolves. The tricky part of Venus with Pisces is we need to know what we want now. The lines between us and other people, between acceptance and avoidance, between our money and their money, between love and 'what was I thinking' - will blur. If that Lunar Eclipse brought/brings losses, this aspect can soften the blow.

On DECEMBER 8TH - we get the last quarter Moon of the cycle - the Moon in Virgo squaring the Sun in Sagittarius. The Moon in Virgo wants to organize/keep things smallish and tidy. The Sun in Sag wants to 'go big or go home'. This is the big-picture vs the pesky little details. Or we might say the important details vs the 'lalaland possibilities'. Squares are tension/frustration. How do we make this work?

On DECEMBER 12TH - Mars (direct in his home sign of Aries now) sextiles the North Node. Here is where we need to be taking action toward our future. Mars requires it. That sextile to the North Node speaks of opportunities/lining up with our best/brightest future (the best we can line up with from where we are currently parking our ass if you see what I mean). Aries action can sometimes look a little/or a lot selfish. Take it anyway. At the same time, Mercury gets ahead of the Sun - moves out of the bounds of the Sun. He/she isn't playing by the rules and there aren't many rules in Sagittarius to start with! We could say/think almost anything now. So can everyone else. He doesn't come back into bounds until the first week of January, so keep this in mind.

On DECEMBER 14TH - here's the BIG Solar Eclipse New Moon in Sagittarius - we will talk about this in Part II.

This one is at 23 degrees (symbolically past that 22 degree transformation-zone, so past the death - and what do you know, here we are still ALIVE, and there will be more and more days when we feel this way) conjunct the Galactic Center and the South Node (huge karmic releases), with Pluto at 23 DEGREES, too, now and Venus exactly on Juno (in Scorpio, people!) - here's what this year has brought us to with our relationships/contracts - this thing is merging or this thing is purging. And here is Jupiter breathing down Saturn's neck. Santa Claus right down Santa Claus lane.

I will cover this thoroughly in Part II

Then in Part III we will tackle the New World that starts on December 21, 2020 at 2:21PM EST when Jupiter and Saturn connect at 0 degrees Aquarius. The king is dead, long live the king.

In Part IV we will look at both the Cancer Full Moon at the end of the month - the first in how many years now, without the pressure of Saturn and the Nodes AND the HUGE January 13th New Moon in Capricorn at, what else? - 23 degrees Capricorn. With Pluto at 24 degrees Cappy and Mars squaring Saturn (the chart drawn for Washington DC is on FIRE). Neptune still squaring the Nodes of Fate. And you know who has been at 23 degrees this whole time? Eris in Aries - everyone gets a seat at the table or the table gets flipped.

Hang in there everyone.

It is hard for me to write too far ahead during the Eclipse spin cycle because we aren't really sure where we will be spit out. Which really just depends how far off course we are/where we are needed now and where we need to be. Personally I was hoping for a warm wash set to delicate followed by a light ironing, but this doesn't seem to be the case ...

Solar Eclipse post next! Mid-December will be rocking!

Did Project Runway accidentally thought-seed a pandemic | a quick hop down the rabbit-hole

Since we are in the Eclipse spin-cycle with Neptune squaring the nodes - why not jump fully into the rabbit-hole for a quick astro adventure.

It's warm down here, there are friendly bunnies and chocolate, I wouldn't let us down and forget that

(and don't worry I have tossed us an escape line to get us out of here - just hit that X in your browser bar for less lunacy somewhere else - the bunnies are awfully cute though, you won't want to miss them).

On March 28, 2019, yes, one year BEFORE the infamous March 2020 lock-downs - a contestant on the reality/design competition show Project Runway - a designer named KOVID - introduced his mask-matching outfit to the judges. The next day he posted an Instagram pic of his creation by saying he was "killing it".

Let's take a brief look at the chart!

I've added my tested stand-ins for the virus - Pandora (pandemic), Pan (the panic) and Wuhan. Keep in mind Pandora and Wuhan are conjunct on Algol (considered by the ancients to be the worst of the worst of the fixed stars) in the U.S. Sibley chart - we talked about that HERE.

So, as this episode was airing (I would assume, since this is a fairly popular international show on Bravo TV that has been on for a few years - a sizeable audience was watching) we have the Sun conjunct asteroid Pandora (6th house health). We have Uranus (chaos/the unexpected/the future) conjunct Asteroid Pan (on the DC). We have chart ruler Venus in Pisces (the sign of viruses/no boundaries/pandemics) as well as Mercury and Neptune who are EXACTLY conjunct. Mars (always a trigger) is conjunct fixed star Algol. Pluto sits at the 22 degrees where "time runs out" and Asteroid Wuhan exacting trining (brakes off) the North Node of Fate - we know this doesn't end well!

(although maybe it did for Kovid that night, I'm not sure)

The infamous 2020 meetup of Saturn and Pluto hasn't happened yet, but here they are both direct with Saturn (reality) on a collision course with Pluto (death). BUT first Pluto and then Saturn stations retrograde - delaying their meeting/the"death postponed". Until 2020.

Reminiscent of the Simpson's announcing Trump's Presidency (among other things and maybe I should look at that astro), I thought it might be interesting to think about what this could mean (and how I might get Heidi Klum to talk about me winning the lottery). But maybe let's not think too hard or too long on a cold Tuesday night if thoughts of a holographic universe (life as an illusion) or glitches in the matrix or maybe just our very human ability to see what we are looking for (although there are 360 places/degrees these celestial bodies could be, so it is more than a little interesting where they show up here) - might just leave us tossing and turning ....
