Sorry for another late weekly!
I had family over Sunday and was just totally exhausted last night. This is a BIG Venus week as her retrograde cycle continues through a clash with change-maker Uranus and meeting with the Sun.
She also met up with Black Moon Lilith, again, on Monday. I am doing a Venus retrograde part II post this week and we'll talk about that storyline there.
In the meantime let's dive right into the week!
TUESDAY - Third Quarter Moon
WEDNESDAY - Venus retro square Uranus, Mercury trine Jupiter
SUNDAY - Venus retro conjunct the Sun
On TUESDAY - As last week's Full Moon in Aquarius continues to unwind, we reach the Moon's last quarter square as the Taurus Moon squares the Leo Sun, at 15 degrees. An important degree within the fixed signs. The Leo Sun wants to play/shine and the practical Taurus Moon comes in with tension/frustration - likely around our money or security - and could say something like "PLAY TIME IS OVER BUDDY. Back to work." Or maybe Luna is asking us if we really need, and can afford, this shiny thingamajig that has caught our eye. Smart Mercury in Virgo catches up with wise Pallas today, so there will be a practical way through whatever conundrum this month's Third Quarter Square is kicking up. Talk. Strategize. Do the smart/sensible thing.
On WEDNESDAY - we hit the meat and potatoes of the week as Venus, retrograde, squares Uranus - SURPRISE (2nd of 3) - and Mercury trines (brakes off) Jupiter. On Sunday, Venus, at the halfway point of her 40 days and 40 night retrograde cycle will meet the Sun, so today's square is connected to that important illumination/seeding point. We get the shake-up first, and this is a repeating pattern, and then the new seeding/AHA moment.
Venus square Uranus brings surprises with love and money. Breakthroughs. Breakdowns. Break-ups. Breaking points. Sudden or unusual attractions. There is a very real NEED FOR CHANGE.
Something/someone from the past, maybe something/someone that we used to LOVE, can be DISRUPTIVE. Expect the unexpected. Squares bring tension/frustration, and create the need for ACTION, and via the houses this is kind of echoing yesterday's Third Quarter Moon energies.
The good news - Mercury in Virgo trines Jupiter in Taurus at the same time. Conversations, information, solutions. Again this is practical stuff. Jupiter is answering to Venus who is squaring Uranus, so this all part of the same thing. Some will get GOOD NEWS.
Big picture - there is something IMPORTANT revealing itself this week about how we can use our Sun/shine NOW and what we really value NOW, and there is also the Jupiter energies to encourage us and offer us hope and luck via solid conversations and information, but also, might encourage us to over-do something. Over-spend. Over-promise. Count unhatched chickens. Toss babies out with dirty bathwater. Or take a calculated risk - which is a good thing with Mercury trine Jupiter - TOO FAR. So, stay frosty and clear-headed. Mercury is strong and slow in Virgo - think things through.
The Moon is exalted in Taurus now, and answering to Venus, and will catch up with Uranus and square Venus today, powering this whole thing up. Whatever this is, it won't be missed. The scope/size will depend on your natal chart's connections with these energies. I have alot of Aquarius and often get the Uranus aspects a week early ... maybe you did, too.
NOTE - Venus is going to square Uranus again at the end of September, so this 'shake-up' story isn't over ..... keep in mind, this is part two of three, this is the part where we are re-thinking, re-vising, etc. Nothing is set in stone here.
On SUNDAY - Venus catches up with the Sun at 20 degrees Leo. Venus cazimi - right in the heart of the Sun. This is the inferior conjunction part of her cycle when she comes between the Sun and the Earth. The inferior conjunction is the 'seeding' part of her cycle.
So, what are you fired up about now?
HERE IS CLARITY.
The pre-inferior conjunction phase of her retrograde - July 22nd until today - is when situations stir us to GET CLEAR on what is most important (Venus's field of play will be your Leo house theme, so collectively this will be about romance, creative projects, children, recreation and we will all to some extent be feeling this, Aries risings will feel this most strongly, then, say, for example, you are a Scorpio rising, well, your Leo house is your 10th house of career/reputation/public life and you are probably well into a dissection of THAT, etc).
Then at the inferior conjunction, which is NOW, Venus meets the Sun and we get some CLARITY, because the Sun/Venus archetypes are merged, and remember Venus in Leo is answering to the Sun because Leo is the Sun's sign. So this is about our life force/our will merged with our values playing out through our natal Leo houses. Then after today, we will begin to act on what this clarity shows us and get ready to move ahead when Venus leaves retrograde in early September. The Moon today is strong in her home sign of Cancer and sextiling (opportunity) Jupiter, Mercury and Mars. There is alot of support here.

Heads up - the Leo New Moon next week is going to square Uranus, so we can expect the next New Moon cycle to be about SHOCKING NEW BEGINNINGS.
The drama will not be saved for our mamas :)
