It is hard to find the language to convey how incredibly IMMENSE these times we are living in actually are. It is easy to be so freaked out by the collective instability that we miss the fact that when anything is possible, well, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
After this Eclipse, Neptune is going to move into Aries for the first time since the mid 1800's. Saturn is going to get closer and closer to the North Node and they will be together for most of April in Pisces. Everything has BIG KARMIC SIGNIFICANCE. We can shed lifetimes of ancestral and past life baggage simply by being alive now. Pisces isn't super active energy in a traditional sense. We are, in a way, past the action, with some of these situations. This isn't about us doing X or us doing Y. We just have to let go - allow certain passions to dilute/run their course. Trust yourself and your ability to manage what is leaving and what is coming.
Once into this New Moon cycle with Saturn approaching the North Node - we will want to be conscious of what we are doing/taking on/committing to because this KARMIC "DOOR" SWINGS BOTH WAYS.
We are more easily creating karma, too, now. Our responsibilities, our obligations, undertakings, our words - will have greater consequences. We want to lean into what feels like next/what feels right - when we feel it. Trust those 'bigger hands than ours' and that we will know what we need to do when we need to do it.
Let's take a look at Saturday's Eclipse!
On Saturday, March 29th, 2025, at 6:58AM EDT, the Aries Moon will catch up with the Aries Sun at 9 degrees giving us this month's New Moon. Happening near enough to the Moon's nodes for the Moon to eclipse out part of the Sun makes this a partial New Moon Solar Eclipse.
This is the final Aries Eclipse of the past two year Aries/Libra nodal cycle!
As the Moon eclipses the Sun - there is a kind of PAUSE, an emptiness and something like a void opens - soul contracts and ancestral patterns can slip in and out. Solar Eclipses expose what is HIDING and what we are HOLDING from other lifetimes (and can allow us the space to recognize their residual echoes in this lifetime).
The North Node (path forward) enlightens us during a Solar Eclipse. Stuff comes to light, so we can leave it behind or bring it closer - situations and people and TENDENCIES that come from past life stories and past life traumas.
Think of an eclipse as a chance to get a powerful re-do without the need for a messy death and rebirth. They are truly cosmic doorways between our different lifetimes. They often bring endings that are liberating.
Happening in Aries, this Eclipse's powerful endings begin a new cycle around our IDENTITY, our purpose, our motivation, the way we start and initiate, our masculine energy, our natal Aries house theme, our passion, anger and drive.
What identity needs to go, so we can live a better life now? Situations conspire to allow us to see and face what is stopping us from being ourselves and from being the NEW SELF life wants/needs us to be.
Let's unpack the chart!
The Moon/Sun are together at 9 degrees Aries. This lunation has a significant lack of tight aspects. The ruler of this lunation is Mars at 22 degrees Cancer - marking his third pass over this degree since he was here for last October's Full Moon in Aries, we talked about that one HERE.
That was the Full Moon (with the North Node still in Aries) that should have been an eclipse and wasn't and this is the New Moon that shouldn't be an eclipse (North Node in Pisces now), but is!
22 degrees Cancer is the degree that opposes 2020's "time ran out" Sun/Pluto/Saturn/Mercury/Ceres 21-22 Cappy conjunction and opposes 2022's Russia invades Ukraine Venus/Mars 21-22 Cappy conjunction (Mars will be back to 22 Cappy on September 11th BTW). Does his mean anything? Probably. Maybe. AND 22 degrees Cancer puts Mars EXACTLY where he was during the October 2024 Full Moon and in an EXACT square to Chiron. The Moon trines (brakes off) all the Pisces planets.
In general, Solar Eclipses are often not so positive for solar/father figures. Usually there will be a collective story about the loss of a leader. We will look at this in the next post. Sometimes the loss is connected to a humbling/fall from grace.
First thing we see is - ALL THIS PISCES!
Yes, the Sun and Moon are joined in Aries, and, yes, Mercury is still in Aries, but only for about another minute. Mercury's fall back into Pisces makes me think of a SURRENDER. We are tired of fighting or talking or STARTING and need a rest! With Mercury moving back into Pisces and meeting Neptune within hours we could be making or hearing an important APOLOGY.
Making peace with the past is certainly part of the deal here.
Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac and has its modern ruler, Neptune, sitting at the final degree. The final degree of the final sign with all those planets in Pisces answering to him. There is a 'now or never' feel to SOMETHING, and this isn't usually the case even when it feels like it is, but this time, well, maybe it is.
The Moon has just met up with a retrograde Mercury, sextiled Pluto (empowered by changing our mind? saying it differently?) and now the Moon eclipses the Sun (partially) revealing THE PAST, what is behind us, what is done behind our back or what we do behind our own - all these unresolved soul fragments that are still attached to old timelines. THIS IS BIG, important, but not always easy or even possible to UNDERSTAND. If you imagine the 12 houses of the zodiac wheel with Aries ruling the 1st house - Pisces, the 12th house, isn't visible to us. It is BEHIND OUR BACK. It rules the stuff we do unconsciously, the stuff we have put away and often forgotten. This is why Piscean events don't always make sense to us - we just have to trust/have faith that things are UNWINDING to everyone's highest benefit.
The Moon will go on to sextile Jupiter and finally square Mars (Aries ruler). The Moon will make all these aspects over a couple days. Some important dates in this lunation's story will likely be when the Sun makes the same aspects. The Sun will sextile Jupiter on April 6th and the Sun will square Mars on April 20th. The Moon's final square to Mars speaks more of tension and frustration than resolution, so new Moon events cannot be said to be easy or bring conclusive results. They will though point us toward, likely via tension/frustration, future action that will need to be taken.
This Eclipse is also an open portal to re-trieve what we have left behind. To bring pieces of our old selves back to our new selves. What piece of our identity did we leave in another lifetime that life needs (because Pisces is a collective sign) us to OWN going forward? This likely won't be something that just helps us. This can show up as a new or transformed relationship, new situation or opportunity, new gift or ability, new resources, a physical wound (Mars square to Chiron) or our attention to one, and I know a 'physical wound' doesn't sound like such a gift, but there is something about the wound when we TRANSCEND it, maybe because we need to be brave or strong - that brings some piece of an old identity that we will be needing in this life, into this life.
All this Pisces might have brought indecision, avoidance, exhaustion, grief, maybe an aversion to softness or hardness, pain, addiction, escape, lack of motivation, health stuff with old roots.
With Pisces ruler change of signs into Aries - things can shift FAST. Surely one reason for God/the universe to have so much on Neptune's shoulders during this change is so we can FEEL IT.
We talked this week about the Mars/Chiron square and the need to respond and not react (stay in the moment, don't over-personalize, know that you are being triggered by old events and could over-react to anything that makes you feel embarrassed or vulnerable). With Chiron in Aries, healing might require us to be brave/strong (Aries!) and the Neptune energies come in to soften the edges of things, to pull in connection and forgiveness and forgetfulness (which sounds like a bad thing and sometimes isn't) and the assistance of the thousands of prayers we have surely prayed in all our different lifetimes, not to mention all the good we have done and surely this is a boatload, too.
Think about what you are thinking about during this Eclipse energy. This was driven home to me the other day in the grocery store. I had been researching palate expanders (and 'researching' is putting it mildly - my Pisces 5th house of children has been flooded/overwhelmed), which is an orthodontic device sometimes used before braces. I stopped at the grocers and was grabbing a bag of pretzels. A woman and her granddaughter walked up to the pretzels and the little girl said, "they don't have the kind I like". Her grandmother replied, "you need to expand your palate". I would bet this woman had never used these words before in her life or maybe I had attracted into my space - via all this Pisces/no boundaries - the one woman on the planet who would use this language to get a five-year-old to broaden her approach to pretzel selection :) Algorithms work so well on us because this is how life actually works anyway.
So, think about what you are thinking/talking about. Be intentional. We can't get out of the pool just yet, but we can control our drift. It's not that I shouldn't be thinking about palate expanders, but imagine what we can attract with our undivided attention/strong emotions on what we WANT right now.
This would be a great time to make a vision board. But don't make the same one you have made before - allow yourself to embrace a taste for something new.
9 degrees Aries also being the degree Mercury stationed retrograde a week or so ago, pulls in the need to re-view, re-think. Mars/Chiron the need to not over-personalize or be too sensitive, to respond and not react/over-react and to think about how our own words and actions - especially around home and family matters can trigger others - and proceed SMARTLY (Pallas sextiling from Aquarius). The bottom line with all of this - we are in a very foggy Pisces lalaland Solar Eclipse portal and Neptune has gathered all these planets answering to him into a tight little group and they are making invisible MAGIC AND MIRACLES with all this old stuff and then BAM - Neptune moves into Aries! :)
With Mars in Cancer answering to the Moon and the Moon in Aries answering to Mars - we get this mutual reception right now that is HELPING US, just when we need it to be helping us. So, Mars can get home to Aries BUT he must go through the Moon - so he has to FEEL what his actions are doing. And the Moon can get home to Cancer, but she must go through Mars - so to reach safety and security and home she needs to have courage, embrace the new, take some kind of action.
The further and further we get from this old stuff the easier this is all going to get. Something to keep in mind is that the old world that we are all trying so hard to hold together was a freakin' mess. Yes, there are parts we don't want to lose and, yes, we will probably lose some of them, but that's the only way through now. We are already over the tipping point with some of this. The stuff behind us isn't really even back there anymore, so we are mostly hanging onto ropes that aren't connected to anything!
I am not a huge proponent of setting intentions or walking in Eclipses, but my Mercury in Cappy is old and superstitious anyway with a tendency to conjuring the dragons I so often focus on. Life always brings me more and better than I would come up with anyway.
I will leave this decision up to you. Here are some tips if you do:
AFFIRMATION TIPS: get into a calm, centered frame of mind - always make affirmations from a positive (meaning both certain and upbeat) space - write your affirmations down by hand in script, speak them out loud - with a fire New Moon maybe write your affirmations on strips of paper and burn them - now release your attention from these things knowing that your intention is known.
I always burn them with a candle and let the candle burn down. With all the water now if there is something you want to stop doing or a fire you want to put out, I would write the intention down, set it on fire and then drown out the fire with water.
Whatever you decide - take some deep breaths this weekend. Play music that you love. Don't be discouraged or take FLARE UPS too personally - eclipses are emotional. Connect with the people and things and animals and spaces you love. If things are popping, pop right along with them. If things feel dreamy let yourself drift and dream.
No one knows how Neptune in Aries on Sunday is going to FEEL and what this change will bring over time.
So, we truly are all in the same boat ....
xo all
Back with the first Neptune in Aries post this weekend with the politics!
