Monday, October 13th, 2025, is the first time in hundreds of years that Pluto will station direct (change direction after a retrograde from our view here on Earth) in the sign of Aquarius, but we have had Pluto in Aquarius long enough now to see what this beginning leg of his long journey here is going to be about.
Pluto, the planet of ultimate power via death and transformation, will be in Aquarius, the sign of the future, the collective, tech/groups and innovation until 2044, so this is the first of MANY stations here.
Pluto direct says - you have been given the time you needed to go UNDERNEATH. To find the thing you had stuffed/didn't want to look at/didn't want to find. Now, it's time to move forward WITH THE RESULTS OF THIS ENCOUNTER.
Maybe we feel lighter. Maybe we feel stronger. Maybe we are still trembling with the weight of whatever the hell we have dug up.
With Pluto retrograde, the death/change was postponed and now Pluto asks us to FACE IT.
We could think of a planet's station direct as the time for the awareness (what we have learned) to become movement (what we do with what we learned).
When Pluto was in Capricorn, for many years until recently, the "outdated or rotten" stuff we had to face was usually structural ie physical things, institutions, hierarchies, control patterns, survival strategies, the stories we told about our past/paternal past.
In Aquarius, the things are more conceptual and collective ie beliefs about belonging, our relationship to technology, the stories we tell about humanity’s FUTURE, control that is disguised as progress (think digital IDs here, geo-fencing) and isolation that is disguised as freedom.
I think the mistake many of us made, and maybe I should speak for myself here and say the mistake "I" made from having Pluto in Cappy during all my years of serious astrological study - was forgetting that Pluto was the real authoritarian here. Capricorn, the natural ruler of our 10th house - peak of the chart - is authoritarian, too (in a very hierarchical/structured way that Pluto can, yes, just come along and squash like a bug), so it was confusing at times, but the REAL POWER has always been with Pluto, the God of the Underworld/death. It was hard to see, even just a few years ago that Pluto in Aquarius (the sign of 'the people' but also TECHNOLOGY) could be just as AUTHORITARIAN as Pluto in Capricorn had been, but now this is becoming more and more clear every day.
Even with Neptune retrograde's approaching return to Pisces and the great 'collective fog machine and the great collective forgetting' we can still see the tech train with a new generation of the same ilk of robber barons at the controls barreling toward us.
But I want to keep this post lighter and more focused (we were driving in NYC yesterday to see a play for my daughter's birthday and my head still wants to pivot).
Keep in mind no matter what sign Pluto is in, the core idea of his direct station is - what was buried, purged, or confronted during the retrograde is now ready to move forward as empowerment. What didn't kill us - and we are still here aren't we :) - has MADE US STRONGER.
Pluto in Aquarius MUST uproot the parts of COLLECTIVE CONDITIONING that can no longer hold the charge of the FREQUENCY OF THIS NEW AGE.
And it is going to do something like this in our own lives, too!
EXAMPLE - if you are a Scorpio rising, Aquarius rules your 4th house of home/family, so your home is probably anything but traditional anyway. While Pluto was retrograde - you saw the old family story or emotional pattern/sat with the shadow (how this has played out will be different for all of us and depending on the other planets/energies involved), now with Pluto direct it is time to begin LIVING DIFFERENTLY. This could mean breaking a generational spell by changing how you parent, how you nurture yourself, how you define “home". You might finally sell or leave a physical space that holds old energy, or conversely, reclaim a home space by renovating it or infusing it with new meaning. Emotionally, it can feel like a tectonic plate shift. What once kept you “safe” (even in a toxic detached way) can no longer hold power over you. Now keep in mind, this is a process and if we live long enough, we will get 18 Pluto station directs in Aquarius over the next 19 years! This isn't all happening tomorrow and it will impact some people more strongly than others but for Scorpio (ruled by Pluto so this is more important for you than many others) - Pluto direct says, “you’ve looked beneath the floorboards of your home, so now decide what kind of ground you’ll stand on." Whether that ground is a literal house, a family pattern, or a collective homeland, the power lies in claiming it with AWARENESS. What do you need to do about what you have seen/felt?
