the astrology of the assassination of charlie kirk | part III - the reckoning at the root, The Price of Belonging, Chiron’s Return and the re-enactment of the Patsy Story

I want to stay with this asteroid Patsy thing for one more post.

Keep in mind there are thousands of asteroids. I typically use them only in exact conjunctions, because otherwise I think we risk seeing what we are looking for (which is how life works actually and a huge pitfall for astrology). Asteroids and smaller planetary bodies can add to the picture, but we have to be careful when we think they can give us the whole picture. Maybe they can sometimes, but it is safer and probably more accurate to use them as supporting characters. They add color and flavor. And we don't have much of a story without them.

But still, we risk mistakes when we give them too much weight which I am about to do, so just keep that in mind. We will know more over the next couple posts. 

I am defining PATSY here as someone who unintentionally furthers someone else’s agenda, possibly at a cost to themselves. Not necessarily innocent, but not in full control either.

We've got Oswald, arguably the most famous "Patsy" in modern history, with a natal Patsy at 22 degrees Libra. Mars was at 22 Libra at the time of the Charlie Kirk shooting, so activating Oswald's natal Patsy (this is also exactly opposing the natal Patsy of Jeffrey Epstein (!) at 22 Aries who we will get back to in Part IV) and we could say the United States most infamous "Patsy" storyline. Mars is a "trigger". He rules action, violence, masculine energy and war. We have transiting Patsy at the time of Charlie Kirk's shooting at 20 degrees Aries, so tightly opposing Mars and EXACTLY conjunct the United States natal Chiron (wound). Then we have Robinson (alleged shooter) with a natal Patsy at 13 degrees Capricorn. This is EXACTLY opposing the United States' natal Sun/Patsy exact conjunction at 13 degrees Cancer.

That's a lot of PATSY. 

Let's talk astro generalities and keep in mind I have never looked at asteroid Patsy until last week and my thoughts on this might change a bit, but let's think it through - if Patsy is fused with the Sun in Cancer like it is in the United State chart - the Cancer energy (in this case the United States) essentially is “Patsy energy”. Since the Sun is involved, the identity, vitality, and ego-expression are tied into the “Patsy” archetype. The United States might unconsciously set up dynamics where others carry some of their emotional or protective burdens, so they don’t have to or carry the emotional/protective burdens of others. Cancer energy, when shadowed, can slip into emotional manipulation, guilt-tripping, or playing the caretaker/victim card. 

So, the Cancer Patsy/Sun could activate the Capricorn Patsy person’s (in this case Robinson's) sense of duty, obligation, or responsibility (Capricorn themes). The Capricorn Patsy person could find themselves working, sacrificing, or propping up the Cancer person’s needs/identity thinking it’s their duty, or that they’ll gain status/security by doing so.

When Capricorn uses Cancer, it looks like strategy and authority exploiting loyalty. When Cancer uses Capricorn, it looks like emotional need or identity exploiting duty. Oppositions are mirrors, so we could also look at this whole thing backward/it could play out in reverse. 

When President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on 11/22/1963 in Dallas, Texas, asteroid Patsy was at 6 degrees Gemini and tightly conjunct the United States natal Uranus and Israel's natal Patsy - both at 8 degrees Gemini. Israel has a tight Patsy/Mercury conjunction right on the United States natal Uranus 

(Israel is pulled in then and again now - we don't know if this speaks of any truthful connection or sparks innuendo/conspiracy - we will look at this in the next post. Netanyahu has a natal 28 Virgo Patsy tight on his midheaven and tight on the Eclipse energy in play at the Kirk assassination. Trump's natal Patsy is at 27 Aquarius, tight on his descendent - other people - and the United States Moon - the people of the U.S.). 

Because we are going to pull Israel's chart into this series in the next post - let's unpack the Mercury/Patsy (Israel) and Uranus (U.S.) in the same way we unpacked those opposing Cancer/Capricorn Patsys, for the United States and Robinson, above.

The Mercury/Patsy ie Israel here, could pick up on the Uranus (United States) brilliance, radicalism, or aura of originality and borrow it to make their own words/ideas seem more electrifying. They might sense the Uranus person’s disruptive streak and leverage it. And right now, we have a President with a Uranus/Sun/North Node, so Trump is quite literally playing Uranus! In this case, Mercury/Patsy could end up amplifying their own agenda, while still drawing from the Uranus person’s energy, so essentially “using” Uranus as their power source. Or they could play the patsy/scapegoat for this wild card energy. We can't know at this point, and both can happen at the same time. The Uranus person might feel like, “Wait, those were my sparks, and now you’re running around lighting fires with them". They could become uncomfortable with how their instability or rebelliousness is being harnessed, especially if the Mercury/Patsy person’s (Israel here) words/actions spread faster than Uranus (the United State here) intended.

Imagine Prometheus (Uranus) bringing fire down from the heavens. Normally maybe Hermes (Mercury/Patsy) would deliver it. But in this reversal, Hermes doesn’t just deliver - he runs off with the flame, sells it at the mall and makes himself look like the fire guy/innovator. Prometheus is left in the background, watching his stolen fire be repackaged and spread.

If Uranus dominates then Mercury/Patsy becomes the unwitting mouthpiece spreading disruption they don't fully own. If Mercury/Patsy dominates Uranus then Uranus becomes the source material/resources that Mercury/Patsy exploits, reframes and broadcasts for their own ends. 

Since asteroid Patsy (retrograde) - and the United States has an EXACT Patsy/Sun conjunction in its natal chart - has just crossed over the United States natal Chiron (exact on the day of the Charlie Kirk shooting that pulls us back to the Kennedy assassination) maybe we should look more closely at the United States natal Chiron. 

I wrote alot about Chiron HERE and HERE. The second post was at the Solar Eclipse New Moon in Aries last April - we have the closing Full Moon to that one on Monday. 

The United States natal Chiron sits at 20 degrees Aries in the United States 4th house. Chiron is the wound, the unhealed place, the medicine that we can’t quite administer to ourselves, but if we can 'learn to live with it' in a healthy/healing way, it can be of use to others. Aries is independence, self-assertion, the fight for survival, the drive to be first, the raw “I am". The 4th House is the home, land, roots, family, ancestry, homeland, national identity as “where we come from” and “what makes us feel safe.” So, we have this WOUND OF INDEPENDENCE/this shadow of making a home - at the root of the United States chart. 

The shadow of making a home - the American Revolution itself was not a clean break, but a family fracture. Many colonists wanted independence, but others remained loyal to Britain. The fight for freedom tore homes apart - brothers and sisters on opposite sides, neighbors branded as traitors, loyalists to England driven into exile. The new home was built not on consensus but on division and through battle, and the scar of that rupture still throbs whenever the nation is split against itself like we are now. Native peoples were displaced, enslaved people forced into a “home” that was captivity.  In each case, the 4th-house wound deepened if America’s "home-making" was achieved through the unmaking of someone else’s. The nation’s sense of “homeland” carries a wound of conquest and EXCLUSION 

(this is echoed with the U.S. Uranus on the descendent and the U.S. has just had a Chiron return and now that Uranus is back in Gemini is having another Uranus return - returns being the time the planet returns to its starting position). 

The ongoing insecurity - Aries in the 4th makes the home feel like it always has to be defended or fought for. There’s a baked-in anxiety that safety isn’t just given, it must be won again and again and again. 

The healing path - Chironic wounds can’t be erased/totally healed. Chiron’s medicine is about acknowledgment and self-acceptance. The U.S. may be uniquely positioned to recognize the pain of displacement and rootlessness, and to offer healing to others who are trying to establish homes after trauma and to the extent the United States has done this over the last 250 years there has been healing (think about how well it has lived up to the Statue of Liberty's inscription of "give us your tired, your poor, etc"). We are 250 years into this experiment and maybe the finite truth of home is that a physical home has limits, ie walls, food, water, land. A nation, too, has limits of geography and resources. Aries in the 4th knows this, because Aries is survivalist and says, “there’s only so much room at this fire, buddy." So, there’s always a tension that's been brewing and been especially strong over the last few years between “protect the home/shut the doors” and “open the doors.” Closing too tightly makes the home brittle/fearful/stunts growth and opening too widely without balance risks depletion.

The deeper “medicine” of Chiron is that the wound itself came from conquest and exclusion, making a home by forcing others out. So, the healing can’t only be “bring everyone inside,” because that just repeats the same imbalance, just reversed. Chiron's medicine now is subtler - MAYBE it’s about defining what home means. Not just a fortress with walls, but a network of hearths. Belonging doesn’t have to mean all in one place. It can mean connected places that honor each other. The HIGH ROAD expression of Chiron in Aries in the 4th could involve helping others root into their own homes more securely - supporting sovereignty, self-sufficiency and dignity where people are. It’s less about infinite open doors in a literal sense, and more about sharing the knowledge of resilience and healing the wound of displacement when it appears. So OPEN DOORS are, yes, symbolically necessary, but not always physically actually possible. The open door is about a posture of belonging - “you are not alien/other, your wound is seen, you have a place at the table". That doesn’t mean everyone physically moves inside one house. It means the house doesn’t build its identity on exiling others - "everything would be ok if they're not here" isn't true. It never was. The spirit of welcome can coexist with the practical reality of acknowledging differences and finite resources and helping people stand in their own space/rootedness. This wound is also playing out through a generation of young Americans who literally cannot afford to buy a house. The sins of the fathers visited on the children. Life comes full circle. 

This transit of Patsy on the U.S. Chiron/wound at the roots, exact at the time of the Kirk assassination - important to the United States with a natal Sun/Patsy conjunction and with Patsy so highly activated through Oswald and Robinson - doesn’t offer easy answers. "It's complicated" and I suspect this murder is complicated, too. Buckle up. 

Collectively and regardless of the horror of the assassination the transit asks us - "where and how have we lost ourselves by playing the role of the patsy?" and "how much of our sense of home/belonging has come at someone else’s expense/wound?"

It may look like I have gotten off track with the Kirk assassination but suspect/trust this will all tie together in the end.
