weekly astrology forecast | September 7th to 13th, 2026 - part I - the Moon this week

OK, this week's forecast is going to roll out a bit differently because Thursday is so dominant.

First up are the Moon's aspects. I don't usually write these up except for New, Full and Quarters because it is all too much and my brain turns to spaghetti, but this week feels like we will be better prepared if we know what Luna is doing, too.

And then we will talk about everything else in Part II right after this post. Keep in mind Thursday's crazy amount of stuff going on is going to apply and unwind throughout the week and color everything.

Multiple inner planets changing signs, a very important outer planet and an important New Moon all happening on Thursday - signal changes ahead folks. A BIG WEEK.

MONDAY - the Moon in Cancer sextiles Mercury - good to talk about what we are feeling. Conversations and communications can help put our feelings into words. Something we've been thinking/mulling over may finally make sense when we say it aloud. Then the Moon squares Venus - a disagreement can come up, maybe over needs, money, affection, plans or whose preferences get accommodated. The Moon asks - what do I need? And Venus asks - what keeps the peace? Squares are frustration/require some kind of action, so there can be a small but important tension between what feels good to everyone and what actually feels good to us. All of this is happening before 9:40AM EDT when the Moon goes void until after lunch and moves into Leo.

MONDAY NIGHT into EARLY TUESDAY - now the Moon is in Leo, the Sun's sign. First, she must oppose Pluto - power struggles, control issues, emotional confrontations or someone pushing back against being manipulated or dominated. Something can feel much more intense than the situation appears to call for because an old memory/power dynamic is being activated. Then the Moon trines Neptune/sextiles Uranus for some ways through that challenge with Pluto. Maybe an unexpected insight, intuitive hit, or change of perspective can break the tension and reveal another way forward. Neptune says surrender the old identity to something larger and Uranus says become something you haven't been before. It's our choice. Maybe.

TUESDAY - the Moon in Leo trines Saturn - it's easier to get serious, make a commitment, establish a boundary or deal responsibly with something that needs attention and then the Moon conjuncts Jupiter - confidence rises, we may take a bigger chance, say yes to something, receive good news or simply feel more willing to put ourselves out there.

WEDNESDAY - the Moon finishes up in Leo with a late afternoon (EDT) sextile to Venus - nice day for affection, socializing, creative work, smoothing over a disagreement or enjoying something beautiful. Small gestures of kindness can go a long way.

THURSDAY - we will talk about this in Part II - which is all about THURSDAY!

As for Luna on THURSDAY - she is in Virgo now and squares Uranus first so plan light if you can because plans can change. People surprise us. Maybe technology misbehaves (which has a whole new meaning to it these days). Maybe someone suddenly says, "well, actually, no." Restlessness can make it difficult to stick with routines that have become too restrictive. Then we get the Virgo New Moon and by the day's end, there is an opportunity to recognize what isn't working and make a practical adjustment. More about this in Part II.

FRIDAY - VOID MOON DAY - (which is good news with everything happening Thursday!) the Moon finishes up in Virgo with a very, very early EDT sextile to Mars - good for getting things done, especially things that protect, repair, organize or take care of home and family. Our emotional energy has somewhere useful to go. Then Luna is void for pretty much the rest of the day moving into Libra around 8PM EDT. Time will be stretchy.

SATURDAY - has a lot going on. The Moon in Libra conjuncts Mercury - lots of talking, texting, negotiating, processing and trying to figure out what everyone actually means :) then the Moon trines Pluto and Uranus - conversations and ideas can become surprisingly revealing and someone may say something that changes the entire way we see a situation. But then Luna opposes Neptune - so we won't assume we've understood everything correctly. Mixed signals, wishful thinking, misunderstandings or incomplete information are all possible. And finally, as she must do once every month as she travels through Libra while Saturn is in Aries - the Moon opposes Saturn - somebody has to draw the line, make the decision or say "this is what I can - and cannot - do." Reality check time.

SUNDAY (LONG VOID MOON) - before 10:27AM EDT, the Moon sextiles Jupiter - a little optimism returns now. It's easier to forgive, laugh, socialize, take the generous view or see a possibility that wasn't visible yesterday. Then the Moon squares Mars - we can be irritable (and so can everyone else) irritability/disagreements can still flare up especially when someone feels ignored, unappreciated, crowded or expected to accommodate everyone else. Then Luna goes void for the rest of the day. Give yourself and others a break today. Get some rest.

xo all - Part II is HERE
