Today's Astrology Forecast | Wednesday, January 13, 2021 - facing the change, facing the music

The next couple days - and weeks, but maybe especially the next couple days - have the potential for IMMENSE ... - what is that Chinese symbol for both crisis AND opportunity? That.

We are in the portal of last night's INTENSE New Moon in Capricorn (on Pluto - life and death). With so many planets in the early degrees of signs we are going to have some very unusual and SUPER LONG Void Moons which will likely only add to any unease right now, but is also encouraging us to slow down.

The Moon met the Sun at midnight and then she went void after meeting Pluto at 2:22 (!) AM EST. She will be void until 11:44AM EST this morning when she moves into Aquarius. She is going to be void AGAIN at 4:28AM tonight (early tomorrow morning) and then stay void until 5:17PM on FRIDAY! I have been writing these daily forecasts since 2012 and don't think I have ever seen this before?! And involving Aquarius! Home of Saturn and Jupiter and Mercury! And our future! And with co-ruler Uranus strong and stationing to go direct at the same time! And with Mars in Taurus squaring Saturn! What cosmic sorcery is this?!

Last night's New Moon on Pluto at the end of Capricorn is kind of like having a Scorpio New Moon that takes us right into Aquarius (!) - that feels de-stabilizing enough and then the Moon is going to meet Saturn (5:10PM EST today), square Mars (5:29PM EST), meet Jupiter (9:54PM EST), square Uranus (still retrograde at 11:28PM EST, is this day Trump's unprecedented second impeachment) and finally go void AGAIN at 4:28AM EST off her meeting with Mercury.

The New Moon chart hinted that rash behavior wouldn't get us anywhere and these Aqua squares to Taurus might be saying alot of our problems are stemming from an inflexible or overly-invested relationship with the material world (and expecting that Taurus house of ours to stay the same and give us comfort when that house is in a long season of change via its lengthy visit from Uranus from 2018 - 2026) - we need to be focused on/appreciating what we do have and not what we don't have. And not in the way we are hanging onto what we have for dear life - because what we have/need is changing - we don't want to be like one of those gun bumper stickers about our cold/dead fingers because life can oblige this, too.

We have Mars squaring Saturn. This is pressure/responsibilities. Results of our prior actions. Stop signs. Limits. We have to work with this. We can't plow through. Saturn rules time and authority and boundaries. If you are trying to buck authority/beat the boss it isn't going to work. The piper will be paid. If you are stepping into your own responsibility/taking responsibility for your own actions - this is what is going to work and even this is only going to work over time.

Uranus is about to station direct - this will bring greater freedom/liberation as he gets up to speed.

This is also the day Venus trines Uranus. So we have Mars in Taurus answering to Venus (in Cappy) and she is in smooth flow with the future/change. Mars is stuck, but she isn't. Change your focus! And keep in mind the differences in the way Venus and Mars operate. Venus gets what she wants by attracting it - no effort, she lines up with what is hers. In Cappy this will probably be very practical things. Our goals. Ambitions. Mars gets what he wants through action, but he is squaring Saturn, so can't get what he wants through action right now. This doesn't mean he (as us) gives up - we keep working/have patience knowing -

the way through Saturn right now is Venus - diplomacy, tact, cooperation, balance, women.  She's in Cappy, so serious/sober/traditional and playing by the rules. She is trining (in a smooth/easy flow) Uranus - change/the future/detaching our happiness from an outcome - change is only chaotic when we are resisting it!

There is alot of crisis/opportunity energy right now and, like we talked about HERE in the New Moon post - we want to be careful/cautious. Stay flexible.

It's possible for a collective event to toss everyone off their game now because the energies are very BIG.

And the Moon in Aquarius uber active and coming off what feels like a Scorpio New Moon, is highly, highly unusual and these long voids are tricky.

Stay in your magic people. No dark alleys. Drive safely.

The New Moon in Capricorn | January 12th, 2021 - starting from scratch, what we pay attention to is changing, playing the game at a higher level, everyone gets a seat at the table

new moon in capricorn 2021

At midnight EST on January 12th (the night of January 12th that followed the day of January 12th, why is this midnight thing so confusing, or is it just me?) - the Capricorn Moon meets the Capricorn Sun at 23 degrees giving us this month's New Moon.

This is very near (22 degrees Cappy)  the degree where "time ran out - the Saturn/Pluto conjunction" of January 12, 2020. Happy Anniversary!

22 degrees is a master number, but can also become a number of self-sabotage. Like a space we have mastered, so we think we know what we are doing/have it all together and the fates can't touch us here, but then we move too fast or too casually or too recklessly and then screw ourselves up. Maybe because this is a very high degree to hold/carry and we are sometimes just going to muck it or maybe because we are afraid to step into our real power here. That is the collective space where in January 2020, power was destroyed and cemented.

This year the Sun/Moon/Pluto meet PAST this degree. So, first the Moon meets the Sun, then the Moon meets Pluto a couple hours later and then the Sun meets Pluto a couple days later. The Sun's next big aspect (other than his regular lunar aspects) will be on the 23rd when he meets Saturn and then just two days and one degree later he sextiles Chiron (this is his first of three sextiles to healing Chiron in 2021). So, the Sun starts a new cycle with Pluto - in Cappy, yes, but past 22 degrees, then he starts a new cycle with Saturn, this time in Aquarius (the future - that's on the 23rd), so between now and the 23rd is like a mini-cycle from Capricorn to Aquarius - and it's only after we get through that cycle that we get the sextile (opportunity for healing) with Chiron.

So, it's going to take a couple weeks to physically get to that sextile. But, the Moon, and the New Moon now is a lunar event - so, she is going to do all these things, too, but she is going to do them within just a couple days!

The United States (Sibley Chart) has its natal asteroid Narcissus at that important 22 degrees Capricorn and at the time of this New Moon asteroid Hybris will be exactly conjunct this HOT degree. The last time we talked about this asteroid was back on Trump's covid announcement chart HERE

In ancient Greece, Hybris (who gave meaning to our word hubris) was the goddess of insolence, impudence - known for taking things to extremes, excessive or foolish pride, flouting normal behavior and social conventions that often lead to one's downfall.

Combine Narcissus and Hybris at 22 degrees Cappy and we can see from the news what we get!

All these 23 degree New Moons talking to Eris (which change to a 22 degree New Moon just as Eris gets to 22 degrees) speak of the need for everyone to have a seat at the table. In the last couple years we have seen the #metoo Movement and the Black Lives Matter movement challenging white male (and female) entitlement. This is all part of the collapse of the patriarchy/hierarchy - our journey toward equality. In astro talk the total reinvention of these 20something Capricorn power degrees! This is why things are so hot RIGHT NOW.

Note - this seat at the table thing means everyone gets a say, we don't necessarily all get our way.

With Saturn in Aquarius and almost everything answering to him, he is mega powerful - all the Aqua and Cappy planets - the Sun, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury plus Chiron answering to Mars because Mars and Uranus are in Taurus, so answering to Venus in Capricorn answering to Saturn. Have we ever seen this before at a Capricorn New Moon?! But remember he shares Aquarius rulership, with Aqua's modern ruler Uranus (who is very unpredictable already and this week changing direction).

Keep in mind - we have moved through Saturn in Capricorn - many people were humbled, sometimes this humbling seemed unfair, but maybe this was what was needed to heal our ancestors who had needed to fall, but didn't. Or sometimes, having had our heads cut off by mad kings in prior lives, we needed to be back on the chopping block in this life to understand that we could now lose our head (job, authority, stability, etc) without actually dying this time. Many people stood up, some for the first time to heal themselves and some to heal their ancestors who needed to stand, but couldn't.

Many people lost the structures that were holding them up, their authority, their skills, their youth, their parents, their place in the world. This is all part of the ending of the patriarchy. It's a process. This isn't a snap of our fingers and this isn't painless because the patriarchy is part of us, it's in our charts, in our DNA. It's like losing our arm. This isn't going to be something pretty that we take a picture of and toss up on Instagram.

Now as we move through Saturn in Aquarius we are dealing with karma with trauma - maybe with group situations, maybe with technology.

We have a large portion of humanity still carrying a piece of our collective trauma that allows them to be exploited by emperors and demagogues (because they thought they were keeping them safe and maybe in prior lives/their ancestry/their childhood - the loss of these emperors caused them trauma - father dies and the children starve, the king is killed and the kingdom overthrown and they are killed, etc) and until this piece of our collective trauma is healed - none of us can move on.

This can also be about people needing to be humbled through the king's humbling. Our own trauma - stored survival stress - frozen inside us. We can't access our own feelings, but we can feel his. There is work (Saturn) to be done here.

Let's unpack the chart.

The Moon/Sun are conjunct Pluto in Capricorn (24 degrees) and exactly squaring Eris in Aries. The ruler of this lunation (Capricorn) is Saturn and almost everyone is answering to him. Saturn is at 3 degrees Aquarius, sandwiched between asteroid Zeus and Jupiter (the Roman's Zeus). Saturn is squaring Mars and Uranus and sextiling Chiron. Juno is sextiling Mercury and Jupiter. Mars is conjunct Uranus (exact on January 20th) and Uranus is conjunct Lilith.

(Remember we talked about the four New Moons at 23 degrees interacting with Eris (our outsider, troublemaker, whistleblower, terrorist energy). Of of the four Moons this is the only one where we are dealing with the tension/frustration of the square.)

So, we have the Moon and Sun conjunct Pluto. This is a "death of the king" aspect. We are humbled. Back here again - because remember we are only one step away from last year's story - but older and wiser this time.

This is intense. Transformative. The rules are changing. Stuff that has been stuffed under the rug needs to come out. This can have a strong "before and after" quality to what is happening. We are merged with Plutonian power. If we are ready to step into authentic power/and deal with what we have buried - this energy can increases our ability to influence our outcome. This is a new life purpose/commitment more aligned with who we have become through the permanent changes we have experienced in 2020. Keep in mind this is Pluto, so there could be aspects of control/manipulation/even danger here. Also, keep in mind although this is happening at 23 degrees, this is ground zero this year. We are starting from the very beginning with something. Maybe something falls apart and we have to begin again.

This is our annual Capricorn New Moon - always time to get to work! There is nothing new about that part of this.

Saturn, the ruler of this lunation, is sandwiched between Jupiter and Zeus (who was the Greek's Jupiter). The kings of the Gods and keep in mind Saturn was Jupiter's father and Jupiter would kill him just as Saturn killed his own father Uranus. Mars and Uranus are squaring Saturn. Saturn is strong in Aquarius, but this is alot of pressure/tension/challenges.

That square between Mars and Saturn tells us our actions will be impeded in some way. Maybe we have to take our time. Maybe rules/limits are restricting what we can do. This has to be dealt with. No short cuts.

Mercury is just past his/her square to Uranus. This is us building to the Jupiter/Uranus square at the end of the week - the only one we have this year. Mercury/Uranus can be a brilliant idea, but the square indicates whatever we are thinking/talking about/learning will bring tension/frustration. By the time Jupiter squares Uranus we might have exaggerated something or our over-thinking (Mercury/Uranus) causes the very thing we are worrying about when Jupiter meets Uranus. We need to stay positive with this. We need to take some risks without taking too many. This is a really important (and might be chaotic) series of events that CHANGE OUR MIND/BELIEFS.

Venus (at 5 degrees Cappy) is exactly squaring Chiron in Aries. Here are those practical things we want/that money in the bank/the career/those goals challenged by our vulnerability/wounding. Situations might arise where we feel less than. Less able. Less attractive. Less valuable. Exact on the New Moon tells us this isn't just a flash in the pan kind of thing - this is part of the New Moon story. So what action can we take here - do we need more training/credentials? Do we need more confidence in ourselves? Do we need to get healthy? Do we need healthier boundaries? With the Sun/Moon on Pluto we won't be allowed to just gloss over this.

Juno is sextiling Mercury so our relationships/contracts benefit from conversations and new ideas - Mercury is in Aqua, so things are more future-focused and less emotional and Juno is in Sag, so more optimistic than she was earlier in the year. Our Juno story has been a big part of our 2020 timeline.

So, to bottom-line this one as Saturn would say - and I have Mercury in Capricorn and Saturn in Aquarius (both 3rd house) and Uranus 10th house - so feel extra comfortable speaking about this one :) This is a transformational new start somehow connected to what we have lost/our humbling. We will put on our big girl/boy pants and deal with what is happening here and now. We have no choice. The chaos is us resisting the change. The change itself doesn't have to be chaotic. Change can be EXCITING. Something about what is happening here is designed to CHANGE WHAT WE PAY ATTENTION TO.

MONTHLY AFFIRMATION TIPS:

Some Capricorn new moon affirmation areas to think about: security, time, self-discipline, your brand and image, ambition, opportunity, goals, delegation, releasing control, father figures, reputation, your bones, knees, skin and joints.

Get grounded - we're late in an earth sign now, so this should be easier - always make affirmations from a  positive place (positive meaning both certain and joyful) - write your affirmations down by hand in cursive, we want the letters all connecting and flowing together, speak them out loud.

Then release your attention from them knowing that your intention is known.

This month I will burn mine with a white candle, let the candle burn down and then bury the ashes in the ground. I feel a little more connected with the finality of the results when I do something like this. You don't have to. Do what feels right to you. With Capricorn - serious is best.

Know these things are already yours

Today's Astrology Forecast | Monday, January 11, 2021 - our mind is open, our ideas spread, optimism, the silver lining

The Moon is void until 8:30AM EST when she enters Capricorn on her way to tomorrow's New Moon.

In Cappy, we are nurtured by getting down to business, putting on our big girl/boy pants, having a few benjamins in the bank and cans in the cupboard.

She will trine Mars at 12:16PM, meet up with Venus at 3:14PM and trine a retrograde Uranus at 7:15PM EST. Quite a change from the Cappy Moons of recent years! Good for making real progress with our goals, good for finances, embracing change by being practical.

This is one of the best days this month, I hope we can all make some use of it.

At the same time Mercury (at 5 degrees Aquarius) is meeting Jupiter and sextiling Chiron. Jupiter is also sextiling (opportunity) Chiron (healing).

This is hopeful/optimistic. We are looking up!

If you have planets/points near 5 degrees Aqua or Aries you will be feeling this energy strongest, but we all have access.

With Mercury sextile Chiron and Jupiter - we are stepping back a little bit and seeing the bigger picture/the silver lining in what is happening. Talking/planning about the future can include conversations about our wounds/insecurities (this doesn't mean pouring our heart out) and maybe it must to broaden our thinking/seeing. Our voice travels further/touches the right spaces. Our mind is open. Our idea spreads. This is how we feel better. This is where the optimism comes in.

This is how we get lucky.

Maybe we can see what we have/are being offered and can appreciate it now in ways we couldn't before. Jupiter/Chiron says the key to healing is going bigger/broader - embracing what is foreign/outside our comfort zone. The key to healing is interacting with people with different beliefs/perspectives. The places where we have felt like an outsider/the wounds that have been magnified, here is a chance for some healing, and with the Moon in Capricorn and Mercury in Aquarius - it will be through logic and being practical that the light reaches those wounds.

Weekly Astrology Forecast | Week of January 11th - January 17th, 2021 - time to start, excitement, tension, no one's getting out of here alive anyway so just relax, change that is worth the trouble

If you are thinking, "WTH happened, that was cray-cray!" Well, buckle up - we ain't seen nothin' yet.

Let's rewind.

Last week, with Mars at the final 29th degree of Aries (conjunct the U.S. natal asteroid Nemesis), trying to hold onto that last tiny bit of Arian power before his grounding in Taurus, with the Moon in Libra (diplomacy, peace, balance) squaring the Sun in Capricorn (authority, limits, boundaries) and the ascendant at 1:15PM EST and EXACTLY conjunct the U.S. natal Uranus (of course!) - an angry mob of amped up Trump supporters, convinced the election was stolen from him, followed up their Washington D.C. rally by storming the Capitol Building. Their siege left multiple people dead. The nation #shocked, #notshocked.

As an astro lesson, here is a good example of that 29th degree. The planet is strong here (if this is a sign where he is strong, as Mars is here in his home sign of Aries), yes, but also exhausted/out of options. Sometimes dangerous. This might be a "Hail Mary" play that wins the game, but is more likely something that ends up not getting us what we want, because immediately the planet is changing signs. Bye- bye. So, it flips the situation into something else. The smart thing to be doing at this degree would be to be winding things DOWN, packing up shop, but instead, sometimes at that 29th degree we are still trying to do what we haven't been able to do through the 28 other degrees and we are DESPERATE.

Things can get dangerous.

And since astrologically speaking last week was the APPETIZER (and way too spicy and we want to send it back, but it's too late - we already ate it) - that means we still have the rest of the meal ahead of us.

Let's hope this isn't one of those dinners where the appetizer is the best part of the meal.

The next two weeks are also incredibly powerful. We need to be stepping into the NEW. Portals for chaos/accidents/destruction/breakthroughs - it's all in here. Trouble, trouble and more trouble - including, yes, some of the good kind. But we can't be afraid to take some risks. Also we can't be a crazy risk-taker. Does that make sense? We have to keep moving forward, and, yes, it's scary. Both the Sun and the Moon meet Pluto this week - it's supposed to be scary.

Tuesday's New Moon in Capricorn - at 23 degrees (this is our second 23 degree New Moon, number two of four) is conjunct powerful Pluto, so an intense NEW START, past the point we always died before/past the point where the mad king cut off our head. Past the point where we were taught how and what to think. This is about a new kind of personal power. For some this might feel a bit like a fresh start that begins with us walking the plank with a sword at our back. Of course, once we get into the water, at least we are off the damn ship!

New challenges and opportunities await us, but there is still one last order of business that needs to be attended to. We always knew this fight/struggle was coming - well here it is. With most of the sky answering to Saturn, all eyes will likely be on D.C/authority/the boss!

Let's unpack the week and we'll take a closer look at the New Moon in its own post.

MONDAY - Mercury conjuncts Jupiter and sextiles Chiron, Jupiter sextiles Chiron

TUESDAY - Mercury squares Uranus, Venus squares Chiron

WEDNESDAY - Mars squares Saturn, Venus trines Uranus

THURSDAY - Sun conjuncts Pluto, Uranus stations direct

SUNDAY - Jupiter squares Uranus (we have three Saturn/Uranus squares this year, but this is our ONLY Jupiter/Uranus square)

This certainly looks like Trump could get censured/impeached/locked in a closet/resign although I guess there is a rally for him next Sunday which certainly fits the astro, so maybe he will be hanging on by his teeth. We talked HERE that Pence - birth time unknown, so we don't know the houses - has a 27 degree Chiron (wounded healer) in Aquarius exactly conjunct the U.S. natal Moon (the people). He could step up as a healer. His Mercury is also exactly conjunct the U.S. Mars and conjunct his Sun. I can't tell the importance of these planets without a birth time/houses to see what rules what, but these connections are important. He has always kind of blended into the background to me, kind of like faded wallpaper, but his chart actually says that he doesn't. He also needs to be kept safe (as does Biden obviously) - we heard the mob yelling, "hang Mike Pence", and we can see the chart shows his wound will be felt by the people.

Of course, the mad king has publicly cut off Pence's head, already, and maybe it is easier for us to see/feel through him, what is happening to all of us.

Also the mad king isn't only in the White House, but maybe also in our own house and maybe even our own head (most likely from our past with all the old Cappy/Saturn energies in play now), so keep this in mind, too.

MONDAY - this is the best day and we have good Moon aspects, too. Optimism. Hope. Healing. Just check any tendency to over-promise now. We talked about this in the weekly HERE - see JANUARY 11TH.

TUESDAY - this is the New Moon in Capricorn conjunct Pluto while Mercury squares Uranus and Venus squares Chiron - so a fresh start, with built-in challenges, worth the disruption, THAT WE NEED AND NEED TO TAKE. It won't all be a bed of roses - this is CAPRICORN and squares are tension, keep that in mind. But it will be powerful/lasting/stabilizing.

Expect a BIG New Moon post. This beginning has a kind of inevitable feeling to it. Like, yes, this is where we knew we would all end up/the point we would have to start from. We might feel a bit pushed into a corner/out of other options and this is what we have to do to get out of that tight spot (because nobody puts baby in a corner). The New Moon energy will play out over the next two weeks, but with alot of the major energies becoming exact very quickly, this New Moon will likely start impacting all of us within a couple days.

WEDNESDAY - Mars (3 degrees Taurus) squares Saturn (3 degrees Aquarius) and Venus (6 degrees Capricorn) trines Uranus (6 degrees Taurus)

The Mars/Saturn square is about limits/sometimes endings. Sometimes we have taken something as far as we can go and need to pivot/stop. In this case coming right after the New Moon maybe the new chapter that is kicking off comes with a fast reality check. With Mars in Taurus the reality check could involve money, our stability, resources, our self-esteem. The good news here -  Mars in Taurus is answering to Venus who is in Cappy (Saturn's sign) and trining Uranus. The Venus/Uranus trine - which is a smooth integration of the new, the trine being the best aspect in astrology - could mean a new/maybe more radical approach is needed. New ways to make money are triggered. New ways to feel secure. Keep in mind anything involving Saturn will require work and patience and he's all over this.

THURSDAY - Uranus stations direct (6 degrees Taurus), the Sun (24 degrees Cappy) meets Pluto.

The Sun/Pluto is a light thrown on power. Like last week's Mercury/Pluto - this is power cemented/reaching its full potential or crumbled in pieces at our feet. Either way the Sun shows a result here, sometimes an ending. This is the death of the father/the old king. When Pluto was thought to be the very boundary of our world/last planet out there - we thought transformation had to be life and death or death and rebirth. We had to suffer through the underworld to get to the other side. But since the discovery of Pluto's family - all these little Plutino planets (the dwarf planets) - we see this life/death/rebirth thing is alot more complicated and compelling. The Sun starts a new cycle with Pluto, powered up by Tuesday's New Moon. We are at 24 degrees now. Happening at the same time Uranus stations direct - pulls us FORWARD. This back and forth thing we have been doing with the change/the new/the future is over. The future is here.

SUNDAY-  Jupiter (6 degrees Aquarius) squares Uranus direct (6 degrees Taurus)

Jupiter/Uranus can bring breakthroughs, unexpected situations that shake up our stability (this could absolutely be in a GOOD way). Tension/frustration can OPEN doors/open our minds/change our beliefs. Jupiter in Aquarius is answering to Uranus. This can be simply - change is good. But Uranus is never simple and this is a square, so things might feel too big, too much too fast. Trauma enlarged. Best scenario - this is a piece of unexpected good luck. Know you are going to have to stretch or pivot to line up with it. Collectively this will probably be a big news week and I think there are pro-Trump events forming for this day, this could be trauma (Uranus) enlarged (Jupiter), and yes, there could be some healing from Trump people through coming together now - but anything with Uranus is unpredictable and with Mars squaring Saturn, also dangerous. Stay positive. Stay safe.

xo all - back with the New Moon post and some dailies
