Today is the third Sun/Saturn conjunction in Aquarius since January 2021. We won't have another one for almost three decades.
January 24, 2021 - 4 degrees Aquarius
February 5, 2022 - 16 degrees Aquarius - this was the one that squared Uranus
February 16, 2023 - 28 degrees Aquarius
Wherever Saturn is in our chart is where we are required to take responsibility, do our due diligence, work within limits, be a grown-up, achieve rewards over time. Saturn shows us our OBLIGATIONS. This is karma - which is simply the unfolding of our actions over time - cause and effect. With Uranus in Taurus squaring Aquarius - events/situations have conspired to FORCE CHANGE.
Collectively, the last two and a half years with Saturn in Aquarius has been about us taking responsibility for our future and our collective future (Saturn in Aqua) with the physical changes (Uranus squaring from Taurus) coming through changes with our values, money, our resources, our stability/security, the planet.
Every planet brings benefits. Saturn's rewards/benefits usually come as he exits a sign which will be in early March, but it is possible for benefits, in the form of RESULTS to show up now as he meets the Sun. These will be things we have learned and/or earned.
Considered an old malefic in ancient texts (I don't see the energy this way and you don't need to either), Saturnian benefits come from being responsible/doing the work. As he meets the Sun - results show up. We see where we stand, and if we are STANDING.
(Jupiter benefits come from being generous/having faith, Venus benefits come from being loving/beautiful, Mars benefits come from taking action/starting/putting yourself first, etc, and, of course, it is way more complicated than this, but also this simple, too)
In your chart Saturn (and Capricorn, the sign he rules) can show you where work will be required of you and if you do that work the rewards will come over time and be long lasting/sticky.
Now, as Saturn prepares to leave Aquarius for Pisces (March 7th) he meets up with the Sun for one last time to bring a LIGHT to what we have learned/earned here.
I just want to do a quick rundown through the signs because our next post we will talk about Saturn going into Pisces and I don't want the Saturn in Aquarius timeframe - which is setting up the Pluto in Aquarius - to get lost in the sauce.
The set-up for the Pluto in Aquarius (and Saturn in Pisces, too) has already taken place through the way we handled our responsibilities over the last two and a half years. Now, is a time we can SEE how we have been kind of funneled into certain life changes. This isn't always easy to see when it is happening, sometimes we have to get to the end of the sign - to the 28th degree - and in an inconjunct with Pluto!! - to see what we have learned/earned.
So, here we are today, closing/starting a Sun/Saturn chapter. Goals. Responsibilities. Commitments. Reality checks. This Sun/Saturn comes on a day Mercury squares the Nodes of Fate and Pallas stations direct in Cancer.
My head wants to explode with the synchronicity of all this!
Pallas direct showing us the progress we have made with old familial patterns (maternal) - what needs to stay vs what needs to go, while Sun/Saturn does the same - AND MORE - with our paternal inheritance/relationship with the outer world, our goals, etc.
And Mercury squaring the Nodes speaks of a crossroads/decision/conversation (skipped step) that brings a chance to choose the light over the dark - maybe to bring something out of the shadows even as it is more comfortable to keep it hidden. The goal being to lean into something that is more simple, open, fertile (that square to the Scorpio South Node can also be about releasing something dead). Remember how no one at Hogwarts would say the name Voldemort until Harry came along. Is there something in your life that needs to be TALKED ABOUT/SAID OUT LOUD? Mercury is in Aquarius, so this isn't about being overly emotional. This is about logic, stepping back far enough to see what makes the most sense/cents. What lines up with our changing VALUES.
And, keep in mind, Mercury is squaring both the North and South Nodes, so, we can continue where we are going with the intense/complicated drama, that is comfortable because it is familiar, if we want to, and probably most will. BUT, this is a really excellent jumping off point for something ELSE. Pay attention to what comes to your attention now. New conversations. Ideas. Fate is playing its hand this week.
Let's run through the signs.
This will be the sign on your 1st house cusp - your ascendant, but check the sign before and after, too, because, depending on your natal chart, something there could be more intensely activated and you can also bring your Sun to the ascendant (check your Sun sign) to get a fuller picture.
Take what you resonate with and leave the rest.
Remember this is about what we have learned from Saturn in Aquarius and that square to Uranus over the last two a half years:
ARIES - this has been about you taking responsibility for your future and in some way a collective future, this might have involved a change of groups/causes, the physical change for you is about changes with your finances/maybe the way you make money/your stability/learning a new set of values
TAURUS - this has been about you taking responsibility for your career/public reputation and goals, the physical change for you is about yourself, your physicality, your brand, the way you present yourself
GEMINI - this has been about you taking responsibility for your big-picture beliefs, your travels outside your comfort zone, your studies and the physical change for you has been about stuff that was previously hidden/past life/ancestral/possible addiction issues/self-sabotage, things that you had no control over
CANCER - this has been about you taking responsibility for your merging/purging - your intimate life, joint finances, insurance, inheritances, death/rebirth, taxes, debts, imbalances and the physical change for you has been about changes with the way you see your future, your groups/causes, friendships
LEO - this has been about you taking responsibility for your partnerships and contracts/agreements and the change has come through your career/public reputation/goals
VIRGO - this has been about you taking responsibility for your health, daily work and habits, co-workers, pets and the physical change has been about your big-picture beliefs, what you believe is possible, travel, study.
LIBRA - this has been about you taking responsibility for your children, creative projects, romance, need for recreation/fun and the physical change has been about debts, joint finances, death/rebirth, taxes, insurance, inheritances
SCORPIO - this has been about you taking responsibility for your home, your family, your roots, your foundations, your mother/mothering issues. You have had the South Node though your sign (I am a Scorpio rising and this South Node through the first house is coloring everything), so can literally be like a phoenix rising from the ashes. The physical change comes through your partner, your marriage, partnership agreements, the way you project your shadow.
SAGITTARIUS - this has been about you taking responsibility for your words, conversations, agreements, sibling relationships, your local community and the physical change is coming through your attention to your health, your daily habits, pets, co-workers.
CAPRICORN - this has been about you taking responsibility for your money/finances, your values, your self-esteem, your resources. The physical change has come though your children, creative projects, romantic partners, the ways you have fun/recreation, following your heart/your need to shine.
AQUARIUS - this has been about you taking responsibility for yourself, your physicality, your brand. This is about self-accountability. The physical change for you is coming through changes with your home, your living arrangements, your foundation. Uranus is your ruling sign and squaring your Sun, so this should all be very OBVIOUS for you.
PISCES - are you ready for Saturn, Pisces?! - this has been about you taking responsibility for endings, things that are hidden, past life debts, addictions, escape mechanisms, self-sabotages. The physical change is coming through your thinking, ideas, conversations, siblings, your local community, your tech, transportation.
I hope something here is helpful. Keep in mind the things we have been charged with "taking responsibility for" and the way we have handled ourselves with them will have alot to do with the way Pluto in Aquarius and Saturn in Pisces plays out for us.
Also keep in mind the "physical changes" are ongoing because Uranus will be in Taurus until 2026.
The harsh squares/changes from Saturn to Uranus are over though. We are where we are. Whatever hands we have had to play have been played. Whether we have rolled with the changes or hung on for dear life - either could be totally appropriate, but the second will be more painful - it is what it is.
Saturn in Pisces will make an opportunistic sextile to Uranus (that will be sometime in spring 2025). Pluto will replace Saturn in Aquarius, but won't ever get within orb of Uranus.
