On May 7th, 2024 at 11:20PM EDT, the Taurus Moon, at 18 degrees, catches up with the Taurus Sun brining us this month's New Moon - our annual New Moon in Taurus.
If something BIG and/or beneficial and NEW hasn't shown up for you since the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction a couple weeks ago, it could be this NEW MOON cycle (the next two weeks) when it WILL.
As with all New Moons, the skies are dark. It is the time of beginning. Collectively being a Taurus New Moon - this is about a fresh start with our values, our self-esteem, our finances, our resources, our earned income, and, personally for each of us, the themes of our natal and progressed Taurus houses will apply, too.
Let's unpack the chart!
The Moon meets the Sun at 18 degrees Taurus, the sign of her exaltation and comfortably bookended by Venus (separating) and Uranus/Jupiter (applying). The Moon sextiles Saturn, trines Ceres and trines Black Moon Lilith. Mercury is conjunct Chiron - exact by degree.
The conjunction with Venus is separating - in the past, likely shows we have been concerned with Venusian topics - women, money, resources, self-esteem, beauty - and this FOCUS is a part of what is setting up the New Moon's story/trajectory.
The Moon's meeting with the Uranus/Jupiter conjunction is applying. Says what is started now - the seeds that go into the ground this New Moon - will shift/change/offer something unexpected (Uranus) and GROW (Jupiter) in a mostly beneficial manner.
So, the Moon meets the Sun and then Uranus and then Jupiter. The Sun will do the same thing over a bit longer period of time. This is about OPTIMISM, opportunity, prosperity and, since that Uranus precedes the Jupiter - will come though something UNEXPECTED or inventive or future-focused or even chaotic.
We can't skip the change/disorder and still get to the benefits. It's a package deal.
People have been asking me if this could have already happened - yes, because the goodies/benefits/change comes through a conjunction that has already perfected. And, in that case, the New Moon lunar seeding will further enhance/add more rocket fuel to what has already started.
The New Moon sextiles Saturn in Pisces - promising REAL WORLD impact - the stuff we can hold in our hand/take to the bank. With the Sun in an exact sextile to Saturn at the same time there could be something here about opportunities through authority or a mentor or stepping into our responsibility. With Saturn, there is almost certainly some kind of WORK involved. And that's OK. Saturn also gives the whole thing legs and STAYING POWER.
The New Moon trines Ceres at 21 degrees Capricorn - applying. Ceres, unofficial co-ruler of Taurus (in my mind) sits on the HOT Cappy degree of January 2020 - where Ceres and Mercury and the Sun and Saturn and Pluto had a major pow-wow back in January 2020. Power was cemented. Reality was destroyed. Time ran out.
So, best use of this energy is NOT to go back to an ex, an old job, etc - everything is direct except Pluto and remember Pluto is heading back into Capricorn, so is all about the ending.
This New Moon gets much of its OOMPH from Uranus, so this is about the future.
(21 Cappy where Ceres is now, is also where Mars had just passed Venus as Russia invaded Ukraine and Russia is a Ceres country with Ceres conjunct their Sun. Ukraine's natal North Node is conjunct that transiting Ceres and this New Moon is conjunct their North Node. This New Moon is conjunct Israel's Sun/opposite their Chiron and opposes the midpoint of Palestine's Mercury/Sun - the universe is lining both situations up with opportunities that let's pray they take).
The final aspect of the New Moon in Taurus is an opportunistic sextile with no-limits Neptune. Earth and water. Making the dream real.
One caution I would give with that closing sextile is we now have Neptune at 29 degrees Pisces, where he has never been in our lifetime. And 29 gives a kind of last chance/hail mary energy to the whole thing. It can be easy to get a bit lost in this. And since Neptune/Pisces connects us to our past-life and ancestral inheritances - all the outer planets do - it could be this is pulling in a balancing of something we lost (or an ancestor did) and now we get it back somehow. Or if money has been slipping through our fingers with the recent Mars/Neptune we could get it back now (over the next two weeks or six months).
Bottom line -we have some truly good energy with this lunation!
The Moon is exalted and situated between the two beneficial planets - Venus and Jupiter. Venus is ruling the Moon and in her home sign. The only thing standing between Luna and Jupiter is Uranus. So, there is something unexpected here - maybe something we have to say YES to.
Slow down. Stop and smell the roses. Venus is in Taurus, at her most ATTRACTIVE. Accept the invitation if you receive one. The opportunity is going to find you.

NEW MOON INTENTIONS
This new moon in Taurus is an excellent time to begin a grounding practice, make affirmations and set intentions about Taurean ruled themes (also the theme of your natal Taurus house): love, money, contentment with what we already have, patience, self-worth, releasing stubbornness, health issues regarding our neck, throat and voice in the world - this would be a great time to start a singing practice or class, simply committing to singing loud and strong every time you are in the car can begin to carry your voice to new spaces and places (are you wanting to get your voice heard? think about it, I am totally serious, this is how life works) - nutrition, nature, self-care.
AFFIRMATION TIPS: get into a happy, contented frame of mind - HUG A TREE (she needs you, too!) - always make affirmations from a positive place, and both definitions of positive apply here - happy and certain. Write your affirmations down by hand in script, speak them out loud - then release your attention from these things knowing that your intention is known. Know these things are already yours.

Note - this START doesn't need to be some big thing. Life can use whatever effort we make. With Taurus, this is more about building on what we already have - just remember Uranus will bring us something unexpected here - it might not be exactly what we think we want, but it could be exactly what we need.
