Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of November 5th - the most activity of any week this year, transitions, more fate-train station stops, MEGA-IMPORTANT week, decisions, pivots, getting more flies with honey than vinegar (if we want more flies), Part l

Tattoo by Pr3t3nd3r

November is going to be a very busy month with lots of important shifts and transitions as major planetary players change signs!

The fate train reaches another station this week in what lines up to be the most important week of the year.

SUNDAY - Pallas enters Libra
MONDAY - Venus conjuncts Ceres
TUESDAY - Uranus retrogrades back into Aries, Sun trines Neptune, the North Node retrogrades from Leo into CANCER and the South Node from Aquarius into CAPRICORN
WEDNESDAY - New Moon at 15 degrees Scorpio
THURSDAY - Jupiter comes home to Sagittarius (first time in 12 years!)
FRIDAY - Jupiter trines the North and South Nodes (Cancer/Capricorn), Venus trines Mars

We are off! I have to write this post in two parts - let's unpack the energies leading up to the New Moon first.

We start the week with a focus on our relationships.

On SUNDAY, Pallas (warrior Goddess, strategy, tactics, problem solving) moves into diplomatic and balanced (although indecisive!) Libra - the sign Venus rules and recently backed into, and also home to Ceres right now.

Our interactions with other people/our relationships will benefit by applying the strategy of civility - we cooperate, we develop win-wins. In negotiations - it's time to listen. We'll want to make the other person feel that we are connecting with them. Kindness and politeness become tactics now. Contracts need to be fair.

Think about the difference between saying to someone, when you agree with them - "that's right" vs. "you're right". The second invites connection. This is what we want now. Note - this doesn't mean agreeing when we disagree, that pink-paint Libra likes to pour over problems, but it does mean seeking common ground if there is any!

As our relationship interactions/alliances/dealings with enemies (Libra rules our collective 7th house) become more strategic, the stuff that isn't working for us - the patterns that need to shift - will become more obvious and we will have to deal with them (Pallas is going to move through Libra three times!)

Pallas is going to get to the very end of Libra in mid-to-late February and then turn retrograde and reverse course, so these "relationship patterns/tactics" are something we are going to be back and forth over until August 26, 2019 when she moves on to Scorpio.

On MONDAY, the Moon (in Libra) squares Pluto (in Capricorn) and trines Mars. This is another week that kicks off with stressful Scorpio tension - life/death, taxes, banking, big money, other people's resources/money, loans, inheritances, insurance, sex, reproduction, intimacy, secrets, third party situations, power plays/struggles, obsessions, control, jealousy, manipulations, karmic situations. With the Moon in Libra this will be about relationships and other people. The trine to Mars tells us we are taking action to get what we want.

Venus retrograding through her home sign of Libra, bumps into Ceres, so issues around what and how we are "nurturing" are likely. Do we give too much? Do we give too little? In Libra, balance is the goal now.

We could also be dealing with situations that deal with the 'seasons of our life' - the proper timing of things.

With Pallas, newly housed in Libra for a long stay, and trining the South Node (still in Aquarius for one more day -!- an Aquarian theme is likely - detachment, distraction, the ways we or someone else didn't show up fully, the ways someone didn't fit in) whatever we are dealing with has its roots in the past.

Trines are "brakes off" aspects. the energies work together smoothly - sometimes so smoothly we don't even notice. So, you won't have to push with this one. Employ a Libran strategy (Pallas in Libra) - we will probably do this naturally - try kindness, civility, diplomacy.

Develop something fair.

Tonight the Sun (in Scorpio) is trining Neptune (in Pisces).

This is 'brakes off' with the dream/healing as long as we are not in total lala-land with whatever we are dealing with. All this water will make whatever is happening now uber EMOTIONAL. Again we won't have to push with this - something just slides into place. Meditation/prayer for clarity is powerful now.

This is powerfully in play on Tuesday also.

TUESDAY is HUGE -

Uranus (sudden change, chaos, disruption) retrogrades out of Taurus (our Taurus house that starting shaking back in May will temporarily stabilize!) and back into Aries for his final few months after which Uranus will not be back in Aries for 84 years.

We can expect the unexpected when Uranus changes signs - and today is the mid-term elections in the United States!

Our Aries house - some situation in our life - lulled into an uneasy slumber since May, is awake again. Keep in mind we have been here before so these won't be totally new issues. New situations could be triggered though. We have four months to finish the stuff we have been dealing with since Uranus first went into Aries in 2010. One way or another it's done for 84 years when Uranus gets back into Taurus again in March.

With Uranus in Aries issues around - initiative, fresh starts, our brand, anger management, what we are willing to do to get what we want, independence - are likely to play out. Uranus comes in like a lightning bolt and shakes things up.

Now with three planetary bodies (I am including Pallas and Ceres) in Libra and erratic Uranus now shaking up the masculine (Aries/Mars) and his exit stabilizing the feminine (Taurus/Venus) AND the North Node (collective way forward) moving into lunar-ruled Cancer - our collective feminine energy is setting up for a resurgence when Venus turns direct in a few days.

Uranus is going to continue to square the Nodes of Fate - they change signs on the same day, so they squared from Taurus to Leo/Aquarius and now will square from Aries to Cancer/Capricorn!

The Nodes of the Moon (always retrograding backward) move from Leo/Aquarius to Cancer/Capricorn TODAY. The Capricorn stuff that isn't working is ripe for release. Cancer is our way forward.

We are trying to start something new - the Nodes are moving into cardinal signs, so what are we starting? - but there is still something that needs to break loose/breakthrough/breakup - that square to future-oriented Uranus - before we can get going!

The South Node in Capricorn speaks of breaking away from a boundary, a limit, something that appears to stabilize us, an actual physical structure, the way we have always done it, the things we do in the outer world to stay safe, the way we move through our career/public life, a commitment, a responsibility, a rule, GUILT, the patriarchy (?) - we will talk about this more as we move through it.

The good news for everyone tired of reading - "follow your heart, take your center stage, make yourself proud, take care of the children/your inner child" - I won't be saying that anymore - at least not until the planets start moving through Leo next year!

If you have been reading my blog long enough you might remember when I was writing about - finding our flock (North Node Libra), doing the thing that is right in front of us, taking care of the details (North Node Virgo), following our heart, taking the center stage (North Node Leo) -

now with the North Node moving into sensitive Cancer (ruler of mothers, mothering, babies, home, family, real estate, home businesses) for the next 18 months we will be talking about being more sensitive, more vulnerable, "moving home", mother/mothering issues - our mother's body was our first "home", the home we carry within us, patriotism, history, the security that comes from inside us, needing/creating a space to feel safe.

This is a year and a half journey and we are only at the very first step! But what energetics in play for the mid-terms, huh?! Anyone who doubts astrology need only look up and then out at what is happening in the world.

So Tuesday features surprises and also opportunities.

On WEDNESDAY the Scorpio Moon meets the Scorpio Sun at 15 degrees (right on my ascendant) giving us our annual New Moon in Scorpio.

This one is mega-powerful - maybe the most powerful New Moon of the year.

I will write a post tomorrow.

Scorpian energy is extremely effective at lining us up with what we are wanting to line up with - so you MUST set your monthly New Moon intentions this week. This needs to be a conscious thing.

With Pluto ruling this New Moon some things will be outside our control, but it won't be a good idea to let our course be determined by our random thoughts and desires. We need to get real with this because life really can make it real for us. And with Saturn in Capricorn whatever we take on now - we have signed on the dotted line - we own it.

Then, after the New Moon and exactly with his own perfect timing - Jupiter makes his move - the one we have all been waiting for - on Thursday coming home to Sagittarius and then trines the Nodes of Fate on Friday!

This week is HUGE. Underline that a few times.

Whatever you are dealing with now is important. Treat it as such.

Back tomorrow!

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of October 12th - New Moon in Libra (who/what do we want to partner with? who's really got our back?)

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/394065036118519517/
Today's New Moon (19 degrees) in balanced and cooperative Libra opens up all kinds of new opportunities involving  partners; both romantic and business, our  agents, our clients, specialists and competitors - think "equals" over the next couple weeks.

It is also excellent re-balancing energy.

What house holds Libra in our natal chart?

This is our annual opportunity to restore balance here.

Who/what do we want to partner with?

This is an important reset because it will wrap up six months from now with a Lunar Eclipse instead of a regular Full Moon. Makes me think whatever is started now, for better or worse, ends (or evolves) with a BANG.

This New Moon (beginning), closes out eclipse season, and is the run up to the BIG fresh start we all get in mid November.

Now New Moons and other lunar movements do not happen in a vacuum - they affect and interact with other planets. We have had Uranus in Aries since 2011 (through 2018). We know Libra's polarity sign is Aries, so activity in our Libra house is being opposed by Uranus. And yes, opposed means pretty much what it sounds like.

So, we have this need for a fresh start that will give us more balance (more beauty, more love - think Venus ruled Libra here) in some area of our life and it is interacting with other people's fresh starts and we have this opposing energy that we will feel, too.

Uranus is the planet that 'came out of nowhere'.

Until 1781 when Sir William Herschel peered through his telescope and discovered Uranus (first christened George's Star and later renamed for the Greek God of the heavens) astrology was a small, closed system of seven astrological bodies including the sun and the moon.

This fit so well with the seven chakras, seven octaves, seven days in a week, yada, yada - seven being an almost magical number - that the discovery was quite upending to astrological theory that began with the Sun (life/creation) and ended with Saturn (authority/time/death).

Now we had life beyond death, beyond authority, beyond time. When I first began to study astrology in the 90's my first teacher said you couldn't see Uranus with the naked eye - but we (and I) have caught a glimpse now and then. Of course, planets appear to us when we are ready to see them.

It took awhile for astrologers to understand Uranus.

It is now widely acknowledged to represent the development of individuality (which is how he stole the rulership of Aquarius from Saturn). This is the space in the solar system, our collective, our chart, our bodies - where we move beyond our familial and social programming.

This is where we need to break the rules, chart our own path, function without social approval (no thumbs up or likes for you here). Uranus shows us what authorities we are determined to challenge, who we will offend and even where we will receive our most misleading advice.

(where is Uranus in your natal chart? where's Aquarius? this is the space you are asked to step outside the box and work with the idea that you might never get any pats on the back for your contribution)

Rules and regulations are the corner stones of our society. We need them - we can see this. And yet, within every one of us is this little (sometimes not so little) something that really hates being told what to do. It's the space that cheers on the rule breakers, feels the lure of total freedom and secretly hopes the bad guy in that movie drama will get away with it.

So, we've got this New Moon in beatific and balanced Libra wanting something new and balanced for us and this aspect to Uranus adding something jolting, surprising and dare I say liberating into the mix.

New developments could hit quickly, maybe from totally out of the blue and likely disrupt existing balances.

This opposition can also represent an actual person or group or system with Uranian qualities (think : genius, rebel, criminal) or maybe someone we are dealing with through the internet since Uranus rules that space, who is literally standing in our way.

This is wild-card energy. It could spark an uncharted direction for us or create abrupt change. It could push/pull/drop kick us toward greater freedom. It could even empower us with a  "cause". Ruts can be escaped. Think about what would need to happen in your own life to create these kind of changes and then expect ... something else to happen. Ack! You will feel this energy strongest if you have any planets in cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) from 16-20 degrees.

New Moon energy peaks at the actual New Moon 8pm EST tonight and runs its course over the next 2 weeks.

On Tuesday Mercury (communication, fast moving thingamajigs) hooks up with Saturn (authority, time, structure) so this is a good day to schedule meeting and talks with authority figures or to finalize the details of something that will be around awhile.

The big news is still that Jupiter/Pluto trine (thru the 17th) I talked about last week (brakes off) - this continues to provide us with a combination of ambition and optimism. It isn't called the 'wealth' aspect for nothing, folks.

Wednesday is very productive - a lot is going on and we can get much done (Friday, too, results can go either way). On Thursday we have Mars (in Virgo) firing us up and getting us motivated, think empowered practicality here - this can tie in with the new beginning, too. On Friday, Venus in Virgo will oppose Neptune in Pisces - work is just work without dreams and dreams are just dreams without work. It will become clear to us - we need both.

On Saturday Mars hooks up with Jupiter. This is BIG. We haven't had this in 11 years. This is when our Jupiter in Virgo expansion gets some legs. More on this next time.

We are having frequent long void moons this season which are not the best times for initiating new things - so if we are launching something now - the 2 weeks after a new moon are great launch periods - check the void moon chart here for the best daily times.

Lots of closing aspects this week - so stuff/people/situations are leaving (remember life doesn't allow vacuums - letting go is the only way to make room for the new). Do you really want to carry that anymore?

Libra rules marriage, negotiations, teamwork, harmony, sociability and diplomacy. For everyone it is an excellent time for energetic support for new beginnings in these areas.

MONTHLY AFFIRMATION TIPS for the NEW MOON:
Get grounded - we have moved from an earth sign into air so this is important - always make affirmations from a  positive place (positive meaning certain) - write your affirmations down by hand in cursive, we want the letters all connecting and flowing together, speak them out loud.

I used to write my affirmations on strips of paper and put them into a bowl of rice so I can mix them around every now and then with my fingers if things got stagnant, now I burn them. I'm going to release the ashes into moving air this month - then - and this is the important part - release your attention from them knowing that your intention is known.
Some affirmations I am working with today are:

1. I effectively negotiate my situation with ____ creating a win-win for both of us.
2. I am balanced and peaceful.
3. I easily attract, recognize and begin working with the right people for my highest happiness.
4. I am easily at ease in social situations.
5. I have total clarity and am able to take action to make my relationships more satisfying.
6. I easily make decisions.
7. The habit of wanting 'peace at any price' is easily lifted from me.
8. I easily take actions that successfully restore perfect health to my adrenal glands.

Another great week for fall cleaning. xo all

Astrology Forecast for Creatives | Week of October 16th - commitments, intimate conversations, big news, shocking news, curve balls, a tipping point, buttons get pushed, decision time

paciwaucie2. by polish-girl

Big Libra/Scorpio focus this week, so it will be all about our relationships, partnerships, agents, clients (Libra) and power, money, intimacy, reproduction, death, rebirth, other people's resources ie debts, inheritances, loans, taxes, spouse's income, etc (Scorpio). It will be about the themes of our natal Libra and Scorpio houses.

On MONDAY, the Sun (in Libra) sextiles Saturn (in Sagittarius). Sextiles are opportunities, but if we blink we miss them. I don't mean we have to proceed quickly, not with this one - with Saturn time is always on our side. But when a door opens easily or things fall together without a whole lot of struggle we might not even notice something has shifted in our favor. We don't always take advantage of the good energy. It slips away ...

This sextile is about making a commitment, stepping into a responsibility, dealing with an authority figure or working with a mentor. It is about something solid that puts us on more stable ground. Working toward our goals in a self-disciplined way is favored and can bring lasting rewards. Our relationships and/or Sagittarius themes could be highlighted - travel, higher education, media, publishing, weddings, political issues or legal issues.

Today's waning Moon is in organized and service-oriented Virgo and trining (brakes off) Pluto (in Capricorn) - good for getting work done, helping others through our own inner strength and releasing attachment to clutter - paperwork, emails, unfinished business that will never be finished and hangs over our head like incomplete homework assignments, situations that have trailed off ...

On TUESDAY, Mercury moves into Scorpio (post to follow) until November 6th. Here he/she will give voice to truth, spill some secrets, engage in some intimate conversations - words could be transformational. We will be discovering new information, exploring it and processing it ...  deeply. No one will be satisfied with light chitchat or superficial answers. If we ask someone how they are doing we should be prepared to hear something beyond "fine".

Now, this transit lasts a few weeks and with the Moon's move into Libra mid-morning we might not feel Scorpio's intensity with our communications until the Moon moves out of Libra and into Scorpio later in the week.

The Moon is void until 1:35PM EDT. Don't start anything new or send anything out into the world you want something to "come of" before that time. If you are filing a late tax return - this morning would be the perfect time to mail it (since you don't want anything to come of it!).

On WEDNESDAY, Mercury conjuncts Jupiter - both recently ingressed into Scorpio. We can expect some news now about what Jupiter's transit through Scorpio will be about. A big news day. Conversations are expansive and/or there are many of them. This is wonderful energy to begin a new course of study. Here is the forest (Jupiter) and the trees (Mercury) - the big picture and the small details - working together. Words, ideas, communications could have a SUBSTANTIAL IMPACT.

On THURSDAY, we have the New Moon in Libra (post to follow). With both the Sun and Moon in opposition to unpredictable Uranus (in independent Aries) - this New Moon is a definite boat-rocker.

The focus for some people will be on their relationships - there will be break-ups and spaces that get broken open. This New Moon cycle promises abrupt changes. Maybe something starts faster than we were expecting it to. Maybe a snap decision is required or news or changes hits us out of the blue. We could meet someone very unusual now - an Aquarian or someone with Aquarian traits (think genius, rebel, criminal).

Curve balls will be thrown. Have your mitt ready. It could be exciting or rattling or both.

This Moon might encourage us to do something totally out of character, especially if we have been repressing something that needs to be expressed. Take a deep breath and think it through. There will be a way to handle this without tossing the baby out with the bathwater. But probably that bathwater has to go. Expect rebellion.

With the Aries/Libra polarity triggered - this could be about us incorporating something new (Uranus) into our identity (Aries) or more freedom (Uranus) within our relationships (Libra).

What this energy really wants is to break through the stagnant spaces and dishonest civilities in order to create true balance. A tipping point is reached - something is going over. We will know what isn't stable because it will be shaking. Financial and emotional investments will be weighed out.

There is an inconjunct (something that can't be reconciled) to wounded healer Chiron bumping into our tender spaces, childhood wounds, vulnerabilities and fears. I will do a post by sign.

The Moon goes void at 3:12 PM EDT.

On FRIDAY, the Moon (in Scorpio) will conjunct Mercury in the morning - here is where those conversations get more intimate, our focus more laser, our thinking more in line with our emotions and goes on to trine Neptune in the early evening - healing, creativity, less boundaries.

On SUNDAY, Mars joins the Libra party adding energy (maybe enthusiasm and initiative, maybe anger or blunt force) to our New Moon situation. Mars is in his detriment in Libra - unstable and creating movement through other people. So if we need to get mad or take some action, but we don't, then other people might act this out for us by getting mad at us! Or they will take some action we are subconsciously wanting to take. We will unconsciously trigger this.

(Did I ever write about the Saturday morning I had three different people 'give me the finger' within two hours - three different traffic situations and before you go thinking I must need driving lessons - which I might actually since I still can't parallel park without at least a dozen moves back and forth - all three times I had the right of way. Really. I felt like I had one of those "kick me" signs on my back except I guess it would have been a giant hand with a giant extended middle finger on my front bumper.

This was many years ago and I took this as a sign to get my ass back to the house and park my car. Today, I would be looking at what the hell I myself was so annoyed/angry about and how I should go about expressing it ... and then, yes, get my ass back to the house and park my car.

Now, I have Mars opposing my Sun in my natal chart so can trigger all kinds of tension/anger/enthusiasm within other people unconsciously to get myself moving. When I needed to leave banking I had a gun to my head during a robbery and a crazy stalker situation happening at the same time. But we all do this to varying degrees.)

Decisions must be made. And yes, with all this Libra it will be harder to make them as we weigh all the options. Situations could conspire to force our hand.

New Moon in Sagittarius | November 26, 2019 - the new adventure, a wise beginning with some surprises, adjustments, agreements reached, win-wins, healing, expansion, learning and more than a little luck

On Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 10:05AM EST, the Sagittarius Moon meets the Sagittarius Sun giving us this month's New Moon and our annual New Moon in fiery Sagittarius.

Sagittarius is a mutable sign. The mutable signs prepare us for the change into the next season and this Moon really has her work cut out for her!

New Moons are the time to set new intentions and working with Sagittarius themes (and the themes of your Sagittarius natal house) NOW allow the natural energies to work with us. As the Moon waxes (grows) over the next two weeks, and really over the next 6 months, so does whatever our intentions set into motion.

Sagittarius is a fun-loving sign (ruled by Jupiter and ruler of our collective 9th house) that rules travel, freedom, adventure, legal issues, higher education, politics, the media, good luck, faith, religion, weddings, optimism, truth seekers, boldly going where no man has gone before, THE QUEST  -

it also rules carelessness, taking shortcuts, thinking we are right, making assumptions, throwing pink paint on problems and looking at something else, overconfidence, impatience and superficial fluff.

Besides the monthly lunar energy of "new beginnings" this particular Moon has its own relationship with the other players in the heavens based on its position. That is where the real juice of any particular New Moon can be found.

So, let's unpack the chart!

The Moon/Sun are just past their inconjunct to Uranus and trine to Chiron. Something about this fresh start is unexpected - maybe not exactly what we had planned and we have had to or will have to adjust - and also this is somehow healing; maybe able to make us more self-sufficient or require us to step into our personal authority, learn to deal with our anger/passion issues.

Since the Moon and Sun are past these aspects (just barely though) this stuff could be in the recent past.

The Moon/Sun are moving quickly toward a meeting with Pallas (the Moon gets there today and the Sun gets there on Saturday) - wisdom, new strategies, focusing on greater optimism and greener pastures and the BIG-PICTURE are pulling whatever we are starting now FORWARD.

We can make wise, informed choices even as we adjust to whatever surprise or future-focused change Uranus is/has tossed our way. Pallas is sextile (opportunity) Juno in cooperative, balanced and diplomatic Libra. Agreements are reached. New relationship chapters begin. It's a win/win.

The Moon/Sun are exactly semi-sextile Mars. I had been taught semi-sextiles were problem aspects like inconjuncts, but I haven't found in my own work that to really be the case. I usually find them bringing in some kind of balance (kind of opposite of the way inconjuncts bring us the rock and the hard place). In this case with Scorpio (Mars) and Sagittarius (Moon) it suggests the Moon (and Sun) providing optimism to Mars more cynical maneuverings and in reverse, Mars (in Scorpio) bringing depth and discernment to any tendency of the Sagittarius Moon to take something too far or to move solely on faith or bravado.

Jupiter rules Sagittarius and so rules this New Moon.

Sitting at the Galactic Center (black hole at the center of our Milky Way Galaxy) he really powers this energy up. Having just had a nice chat with Venus - we will look at her next - and almost finished with his year-long journey through his home sign (Jupiter brings the goodies at the beginning of his transit through a sign and at the end) - he is in an excellent position to provide luck, expansion and abundance now.

Venus, powered up from her meeting with Jupiter at the Galactic Center moves into real-deal Capricorn just hours before the New Moon. This makes the stuff we attract now more stabilizing/more sticky. More tangible. We can hold it in our hands. Kiss it good-night. Take it to the bank. Keep in mind Cappy requires work and living up to responsibilities/taking things seriously.

Mercury is direct at 14 degrees Scorpio, a degree he/she walked retrograde back on November 15th, so something now could connect back to that time. This is his final walk over this degree so something we were dealing with (maybe through re-vison, etc) at that time could change course/move forward at this time. And she/he is moving toward that flowing trine to dreamy Neptune on Thursday

(third time's the charm with that conversation/information or sibling/local community/transportation issue).

So, this is a fresh start for our Sagittarius house theme - a smart new beginning that broadens our experience and/or expands our reach or beliefs - with a surprise twist coming from our Taurus house theme and some healing/learning coming from our Aries house theme. Partnerships/other people create opportunities and win-wins.

With the ruler of the New Moon moving through the Galactic Center - almost anything is possible!

Collective themes here are Sagittarius (new, smart and strategic beginning) - travel, higher education, weddings, politics, legal issues, the media, publishing, foreigners, everything outside your comfort zone, exploration, your beliefs and higher thinking, Taurus (forward-leaning change, surprise) - our resources, money, values, self-esteem and Aries (healing) relationship with men, a man or the masculine, anger, passion, initiative, autonomy, independence. These are the collective themes - the themes of your natal chart may be more personally relevant.

NEW MOON INTENTIONS

As always, write your New Moon intentions down by hand in script. Use strong ink and a clean sheet of paper. Do this in a quiet, respectful manner in a clean space. Light a candle.

Trust the process. We have used our words to cast our S-P-E-L-L.

People always say that affirmations "only work if we take action". And this is true, but not in the way some people think because the affirmation is action.

It sets the energy in motion.

Words are not just words.

If used properly, in the right frame of mind, they line us up energetically with the thing we are seeking.

The New Moon is a time of darkness.

Think seeds in the ground. Our words are our seeds.

We won't have a Sagittarius New Moon with Jupiter in his home sign for another twelve years folks - let's not waste this one!

Set those intentions. Know that life has heard you. Know these things are already yours.

New Moon in Gemini | questions, choices and new ideas - changing your mind

the ballad of gemini by sebastien tabuteaud

Strangely enough for a sign that is all about making connections, Gemini, today's New Moon isn't making any!

Gemini is all about the movement of information and ideas. Gemini is about choices and multiple anythings. The expressions "more than one way to skin a cat" and "kill two birds with one stone" make my point here - although in a most ghastly way

(for pete's sake who was doing all this cat skinning, bird stoning anyway - I don't even want to know where these expressions come from - although actually I will probably Google them since I do want to know now that I think about it since it's Gemini season and all and don't blame me if you Google this horror, too!).

There will be more than one thing to talk about now, more than one thing to do, more than one way forward. With no other planets making any aspects this Moon is all Gemini all of the time.

This is the first New Moon since the Nodes moved from Virgo/Pisces into Leo/Aquarius. And the Moon's closing aspect is a sextile (opportunity) to Uranus (anything can happen!).

Change can't be stopped folks! Information (and remember there is a quantity over quality thing happening now - use discretion, check things out) will be coming at us from all sources. We won't be bored for the next month that is certain. If you need a mental health break now and then - take it.

New Moons are times when we are literally in the dark. The Moon and Sun are together at the same degree. Then time moves on, the Moon becomes visible, a little more visible everyday. This is called waxing and is the two weeks of the month when things are naturally growing.

Ruled by Mercury and ruler of our 3rd house, Gemini rules our growth through the exchange of information, through contact with our immediate environment, through language. Gemini reigns over: the flow of information, technology, communication, our mental processes, conversations, stories, lies, our local community, our neighbors, our siblings, our transportation. This is all the stuff getting a do-over now and for the next 30 days and the 6 months through the Gemini Full Moon next winter.

Gemini is the first air sign of the astrological year - a sign of the mind, the archetype of the "teacher" - the storyteller. If you are a Gemini Sun sign this is basically the way you process life. As soon as you learn something, and you are naturally curious and learn alot of "somethings" - you simply must pass it on. Gemini has more to do with questions than answers. She has been mentally exploring and noticing stuff her entire life.

Gemini is perspective. What we notice becomes what we think about, what we talk about, what we act on.

What we notice becomes who we are.

It's a good time to notice what we are noticing. Of course, we would probably have to stop for a moment to do this and we won't be able to - because we will be so busy!

Geminis are actually supposed to know a hell of a lot of stuff that will never make them any money (unless they make it into the final rounds of Jeopardy) - this is the sign of curiosity.

Everyone has Gemini somewhere in their natal chart. Here is a little Gemini New Moon forecasting by sign based on Sun and Ascendants. If you know the house Gemini resides in your natal chart, use that, too. Have fun with it, see what fits and toss what doesn't. I am not here to transplant my thoughts into your head. Do your own thinking with this. Just knowing the theme can help you see what ideas can be seeded now. Follow your heart and that North Node in Leo!

It is Gemini season and we have the Sun, Moon and Mars in Gemini now - don't be afraid to change your mind, ask a question, make a new choice, look at fresh perspectives and new ideas, try new things, sign up for a class, teach a class, do something within your local neighborhood, call your sister (or brother or cousin), start that book, start that blog, open your mouth!

Also on Thursday, Venus (in Aries) is squaring Pluto (in Capricorn). We talked about this in the weekly. This aspect suggests power struggles within relationships particularly over love, money and self-esteem issues.

ARIES | ARIES RISING (Gemini 3rd house) - This New Moon is in your 3rd house. Maybe a conversation or new idea gets you thinking in a brand new direction. Venus squaring Pluto is about your career and public image sector. You could be feeling greater pressure to succeed - there could be tension now around some "cost" that you might or might not be willing to pay to get ahead. There could be a power play/manipulation going on here. Maybe there is another option?

TAURUS | TAURUS RISING (Gemini 2nd house) - This New Moon is in your 2nd house of the money you earn. Maybe there is a new conversation about your salary or information regarding your pricing structure that catches your eye (or ear). Maybe you get a new idea for earning more money. Remember our mantra for Gemini season: be flexible, think on your feet. Venus squaring Pluto is about something you don't want to look at regarding a love or money situation. Secrets create compulsions and obsessions - what are you hiding or what is being hidden from you? When something small happens and our reaction is over the top we know there is something underneath trying to be heard.

GEMINI | GEMINI RISING (Gemini 1st house) - This is YOUR New Moon! What new questions, ideas and choices are presenting themselves to you? You have more than one way forward and more than one fresh start to choose from. It's your fresh start energy - use it! Venus squaring Pluto is about your groups, teams or friendships. You could be dealing with power plays, jealousy, compulsion or manipulation. Keep yourself above board - avoid gossip. Keep things honest.

CANCER | CANCER RISING (Gemini 12th house) - This New Moon is in your 12th house of stuff happening behind the scenes. Maybe a new idea, some new information or conversation outside of your attention could develop into something later or it happens now and you hear about it later. Or maybe something or someone 'behind the scenes' needs your attention. Venus squaring Pluto in your career sector could generate competitiveness, manipulation or power plays. Your public image could be scrutinized. Maybe you are dealing with a conflict between your career and your personal relationship - it's the time to look at both sides of the situation. Know the answers are coming. Chances for advancement in your career are good now - just keep everything honest and know you are probably going to have to hustle.

LEO | LEO RISING (Gemini 11th house)- This New Moon is in your 11th house of groups, friendships and opportunities. Maybe something new and exciting is starting in a public way. There are lots of conversations and communications with others. Venus squaring Pluto indicates some kind of pressure/lust for something that is hard to get. Maybe a work or health issue is challenging or standing in the way of what you really want to do regarding travel, higher education, media, publicity, publishing, legal issues or a higher commitment. Remember that Leo North Node - oxygen mask on your own face first now. What is your heart telling you?

VIRGO | VIRGO RISING (Gemini 10th house)- This New Moon is in your 10th house of career. Maybe a conversation, discussion or idea leads to a new job or business opportunity. This is a good time for a new beginning with something related to the public. Take action within the next 2 weeks and stay flexible. The sands are still shifting. Venus squaring Pluto indicates some kind of power play or insecurity regarding other people's resources - partner's money, debts, taxes, inheritance. Maybe a partner's commitment is questioned - remember this transit is opening us up to some intense feelings. Avoid over-reacting.

LIBRA | LIBRA RISING (Gemini 9th house) - This New Moon is in your 9th house of travel, foreign interests, media, publishing, legal issues, higher education, higher commitments, religion. Maybe a conversation, discussion or new idea opens up something in one of these areas. Maybe it's time to plan a trip or take/teach a new class. Venus squaring Pluto in your partnership house can bring up feelings of jealousy, manipulation or power issues. An imbalance within your relationship could come up to be worked through. Keep a cool head - that New Moon offers multiple ways forward. Look at both sides of the story. But wait, you are a Libra I don't have to tell you that!

SCORPIO | SCORPIO RISING (Gemini 8th house)- This New Moon is in your 8th house of other people's money/resources. Maybe a conversation, some information or a new idea offers a new way forward with that debts, tax, inheritance or partner's income issue. Or maybe something is hidden now and comes to light later. Stay flexible. There could be multiple fixes afoot. Venus squaring Pluto could usher in some intense moments regarding work, health, daily routine or pet issues. You could be pushed too far or be the one doing the pushing. Relax.

SAGITTARIUS | SAGITTARIUS RISING (Gemini 7th house) - This New Moon is in your 7th house of partnership. Maybe a new person comes into your life now or even more than one new person! Be out and about communicating and traveling locally. Venus squaring Pluto in your children, creativity, romance and fun sector could result in some kind of power play, manipulation or competition within these themes. Take a deep breath. Talk/think things through. Much can't be seen during a New Moon - you will know what to do when you know what to do.

CAPRICORN | CAPRICORN RISING (Gemini 6th house) - This New Moon is in your 6th house of work, health, pets and your daily routine. Focus on new information, ideas and communications within these themes. New beginnings at work or with a health or daily routine situation will require you to think on your feet, stay flexible and likely multi-task for awhile. Your sign rules the 10th house top of the heap - you've got this thing. Venus squaring Pluto could bring up stress within your family or bring a family situation to a head. You will probably want what you want. You need to stay flexible with this issue, too - everyone has their own ideas and everyone needs to be heard to feel valued. You might have to agree to disagree or wait for the answers to untangle themselves a bit or the right information could come rushing at you all at once. Either way the focus here will be on home and family issues.

AQUARIUS | AQUARIUS RISING (Gemini 5th house) - This New Moon is in your 5th house of creativity, children, romance and fun. Communication, information or new ideas within these themes could be just what the doctor ordered (notice how when writing by sign, I start to sound just like the old Sunday newspaper horoscope section ... or is there still a Sunday newspaper?). Venus squaring Pluto in your communications, mental arena could result in intense conversations, power plays and potential manipulation. Information/situations can be more important than they seems at first. Or conversely stuff that seems important could turn out to be the stuff that pulls you off your game. Pay attention. I know you are going in multiple mental directions at once but try your best to focus.

PISCES | PISCES RISING (Gemini 4th house) - This New Moon is in your 4th house of home and family. Conversations and information about home improvements, moves, family issues and home businesses can move something in a new direction now. It's OK to change your mind. Venus squaring Pluto will bring up financial/resources issues. Your earned income or the money you are spending/saving will be analyzed. Keep everything above board. Avoid power plays and competition. Trust (Pisces rules trust in a higher power!) that life always has your back. Your career/finances have been stressful for some time now - the end of all that is near, dear Pisces!

GEMINI NEW MOON AFFIRMATIONS

This is a great time for affirmations for Gemini themes - movement, flexibility, wit, communication, logic, social graces and ease, siblings, local issues, teaching/learning, mental anxiety, areas of life where you are seeing double or doing two things at once, our nervous system, hands, wrists, arms, shoulders and our lungs.

AFFIRMATION TIPS: get into a good frame of mind - always make affirmations from a  positive place (meaning both happy and certain) - write your affirmations down by hand in script, speak them out loud - then release your attention from them knowing that your intention is known.

Know what you seek is seeking you (Rumi). Know these things are already yours.

weekly astrology forecast | August 22 - 28, 2022 - Venus, Venus, Venus, a change of direction, doing everything twice, big New Moon fresh start in Virgo plus conclusions, results

Expect CHANGE this week as two personal planets change signs, Uranus stations retrograde ('change' backs up) and we have a New Moon in Virgo offering/urging (maybe with our back against the wall) new and more options and actions.

We have a couple days with the Sun in 'organizing/fixing' Virgo with Virgo's ruler Mercury in Virgo, too, then Mercury moves on to Libra, in a way, merging Virgo/Libra season pulling the personal planets and our personal lives forward. At the same time, know, this 'forward thing' won't be anything even slightly resembling a straight line. Mercury is already walking degrees he/she will walk two more times (back and forth) during his retrograde that begins in a couple weeks. Pretty much everything is subject to REVISION. With Mars in Gemini now, until March 2023, it will be normal to do things twice and two things at once - knowing this going in should help us avoid frustration.

In the middle of the week Uranus will station retrograde, so now all the outer planets are moving backward. Uranus will take us back to May 7th, so changes that have happened since then - and there have been alot - will be subject to the "re's". Changes could ease up or intensify depending on our natal and progressed chart's interaction with the retrograde. Uranus will be retrograde for the rest of the year.

The New Moon in Virgo, late Saturday night EDT, will square Mars (our action, initiative, passion, anger), who lays low most of the week, and kick off Mars in Gemini - which we talked about HERE - in a BIG way. With Venus in the powerful middle of Leo conjunct Ceres and squaring that stationing and uber powerful Uranus at the same time, expect our preconceived notions of love, money, creativity, our values and self esteem to be challenged. A sudden attraction can be lit, a new source of income can show up, etc.

Venus is very active in Leo this week, so lots of changes/choices with a focus on love, money, our relationships, children and creative projects. She will face off with sober Saturn (a reality check/ending) at the end of the week, so keep that in mind.

Let's unpack the week!

MONDAY - Mercury trines Pluto, Sun enters Virgo, Venus conjuncts Ceres

WEDNESDAY - Venus trines Chiron, Uranus stations retrograde

THURSDAY - Venus squares the Nodes of Fate, Mercury enters Libra

SATURDAY - Venus squares Uranus retrograde, Sun squares Mars, NEW MOON IN VIRGO

SUNDAY - Venus opposes Saturn retrograde

On MONDAY, Mercury, at 26 degrees Virgo trines Pluto, retrograde in Capricorn while Venus, at 13 degrees Leo meets Ceres, Sun enters Virgo

With Venus conjunct Ceres in Leo - love and nurturing are joined. Venus and Ceres start a new cycle  in the sign of romance, love, our creative projects, children, fun, recreation. Happening with Venus and Ceres applying to squares to Uranus and the Nodes of Fate and a trine to Chiron gives this one added firepower. Encourages change and fresh starts.

The trine from Mercury to Pluto speaks of a smooth and powerful flow between our Virgo and Capricorn houses. Earth trines are practical. Changes will be about real-world things we can touch and see. Situations started now/agreements made will require a total commitment. INFORMATION CAN BE INTENSE. Intimate. Words will be powerful/cut to the core of the issue in a way that is absorbed - we can say just the right thing. There could be an uncomplicated (that trine) uncovering of something hidden/Scorpian (financial, sexual, etc, and this was happening last week, too as this aspect applied) or a smooth fix to an old problem. Our thinking could get fixated - so, it's good energy for work requiring deep focus, speaking our truth, dealing verbally with complicated situations.

This is also the day the Sun leaves his home sign of Leo and moves into "let's get to work" Virgo.

The astrology wheel is the hero's journey of self discovery. When the Sun moves into Virgo, it is our hero's first encounter with service. In Virgo we are learning when to help and when helping isn't really helping. Virgo is the modest healer with the critical eye that takes care of the details.

Meaningful work and competence are key now.

Virgo says maybe we are not here to do the work we love - maybe we are here to love the work we do. There is a difference. This is the difference that changes the world. This is the difference that changes us.

Every sign has something to learn from the sign that follows it. Leo learns from Virgo (and we all have Leo and Virgo in our charts somewhere - their placements will affect how this activates in your own journey) - to do the work. Virgo teaches Leo to let go of the need for the spotlight and recognition and to just focus on the workThe king gets humbled (and we might, too, during Virgo season). Virgo is the first sign that takes OTHER PEOPLE into consideration.

The Sun in Virgo needs to do good work. In order to do this, we need to figure out what isn't working. We need to be able to see the flaws and problems. It isn't a coincidence Virgo season is the time of the harvest - the time the farmer/gardener separates the wheat from the chaff/the good tomatoes from the yucky ones the squirrels have gotten into (aarrgh!). This is where Virgo's well-known tendency toward critical nitpicking and fault finding comes in. What Virgo is really about though is - making life BETTER.

Having the ruler of Virgo, Mercury, in his/her home signs and in a smooth trine to powerful Pluto at kick-off is a VERY GOOD SIGN for an empowering Virgo season which lasts until the Sun moves into Libra on September 22nd. We are all burning Virgo fuel now - we will feel this even more strongly after the Virgo New Moon at the end of the week.

On WEDNESDAY, Venus, at 15 degrees Leo, trines Chiron in Aries and Uranus stations retrograde at 18 degrees Taurus

Venus/Chiron is a nice healing energy where by shining/standing out/loving/being generous we find confidence in our ability to take care of ourselves and be ourselves. Things fall into place and happen smoothly with this. Leo and Aries are both brave fire signs, so confidence/courage will pay off here/be healing very old wounds.

This is also the day Uranus stations retrograde in Taurus. Collectively, Taurus rules our money, our resources, what we have earned, our values, our self-esteem, the planet Earth. There is a change of direction now. Maybe a pause on radical change/liberation or maybe an intensification. Uranus is unpredictable - any unexpected lightning strike could take us in a bold new direction or remove all the excitement/energy from a forward-leaning project/situation.

For some people changes that hit unexpectedly over the last few months will slow down or be put on hold. If we are directly impacted by Uranus's back and forth over a sensitive planet or point in our natal chart - changes could intensify. Outer changes can be pulled into the inner realms to re-align, re-consider, re-work things. Remember, Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) is all about detaching us from what we no longer need/what is no longer working by the fastest means possible. If we can't get there from here, Uranus will get us to where we need to be so we can. Uranus will be retrograde for the rest of the year. His station takes us back to May 7th, so anything started/changed since that time is subject to revision.

On THURSDAY, Venus, at 16 degrees Leo, squares the Nodes of Fate, Mercury enters Libra

Mercury leaves his home sign of logical Virgo for diplomatic, but indecisive (the problem with being able to see both sides of the story!) Libra.

So, to be successful, our words are going to need to be more polite now. We need to listen. If we want our communications to hit their target we need to make the other person feel heard/understood/loved.

Conversations become kind of a dance here. We smile. We talk about the things everyone can agree on. With the floor spinning beneath our feet we still manage to find common ground. That is the energy that moves communications, ideas and conversations forward now.

Mercury is going to station retrograde in Libra in a couple weeks, and we are already walking degrees he will walk two more times. People/relationships from the past can come back around. This is unlikely to be a permanent re-connection, but there will be something to be learned from the encounters. Due to his upcoming retrograde, Mercury won't be out of Libra and into Scorpio until October 29th, which is a very pivotal time frame between Eclipses and with Mars stationing retrograde (answering to Mercury). That will be a kind of ending of the first part of the three-part journey of Mars in Gemini, which takes us through next March and Mercury as the ruler of Gemini is playing a critical role, so 'part 1', through the end of October, happens with Mercury in Libra - so, will involve a strong focus on our relationships, partners, BALANCE and fairness.

Now, Venus, following in the footsteps of Mercury and the Sun with this, squares the Nodes of Fate. These are choices to be made. Crossroads. Are we moving toward the NEW GROWTH or holding tight to the complicated/comfortable (because it is familiar) drama? Our money, our relationships, our values, self-esteem - how can we move in a new/creative direction? Venus in Leo likes things attention-getting, shiny, bright, dramatic and here's where we need to know WHAT WE REALLY VALUE because Taurus only wants shiny if it's diamonds. Keep in mind Venus rules that North Node in Taurus  - our best direction forward - and Mercury is answering to her starting today, this square probably doesn't have to be a hard right turn. Lean toward your Taurus house. Something there is GROWING. We will talk more about this in the New Moon post.

On SATURDAY, Venus, at 18 degrees Leo squares Uranus retrograde in Taurus while the Sun, at 3 degrees Virgo squares Mars in Gemini, NEW MOON IN VIRGO

This will have its own post. This New Moon will bring all of us 'back to work' in a powerful way. I will be starting two new lines over this New Moon cycle (two weeks following Moon) to see what sticks. Note - this 'seeing what sticks' thing may take awhile.

On SUNDAY, Venus at 20 degrees Leo, opposes Saturn in Aquarius

Venus has been through the wringer this week and now she must face-off with Saturn retrograde in his ancient sign of Aquarius. Oppositions bring peak energy, culminations, conclusions. With Saturn in Aquarius old limits, rules, maybe especially involving group situations, can pull us up short. With Venus/Saturn we might hear a "no", be forced to deal with a time/financial constraint, feel rejected/not loved/not enough. The bottom line with Saturnian challenges is - they are alot harder when we are projecting our authority onto someone else. So, we need to be stepping into our responsibilities, taking care of ourselves. Venus in Leo wants to play, but we've known this 'pay the piper' thing was coming. Saturn is retrograde, this isn't something we couldn't see coming.

Saturn brings karmic results, so what we get now is the maturing of a situation (through Venus, so likely connected to relationships, money, our values, self-esteem, beauty) to the point where it is time for things to be brought into balance. It can feel heavy if things are too out of whack, but with Saturn it takes what it takes.

As for Luna, we start the week with the Moon in Cancer, this will bring our focus to home, family, mother situations. That Moon has a nice closing aspect, so all's well that ends well there and then the Moon will move into Leo on Wednesday, hits some hiccups on Thursday and Friday, go void off a challenging opposition to Saturn, so the Moon is mirroring Venus from Wednesday to Friday, pulling our emotions and emotional history into the mix. Long all-day void Moon on Friday, so not a good day to start something we want something to 'come of'. Then the Moon moves into Virgo and we start our build-up to the New Moon on Saturday night.

New Moon in Sagittarius | December 7th - the quest, the kick in the pants that gets us moving, information that points us in a new direction, grounding in reality, our beliefs are shaping our future, the seeds go into the ground

It's cold outside, by Luna Lemon

Sagittarius is a mutable sign. The mutable signs prepare us for the change into the next season and this Moon really has her work cut out for her!

New Moons are the time to set new intentions and working with Sagittarius themes (and the themes of your Sagittarius natal house) NOW allow the natural energies to work with us.

As the Moon naturally waxes (grows) over the next two weeks, and really over the next 6 months, so does whatever our intentions set into motion.

Sagittarius is a fun-loving sign (ruled by Jupiter and ruler of our 9th house) that rules travel, freedom, adventure, legal issues, higher education, politics, the media, good luck, faith, religion, weddings, optimism, truth seekers, boldly going where no man has gone before, THE QUEST  -

it also rules carelessness, taking shortcuts, thinking we are right, making assumptions, throwing pink paint on problems and looking at something else, overconfidence, impatience and superficial fluff.

Besides the monthly lunar energy of "new beginnings" this particular Moon has its own relationship with the other players in the heavens based on its position. That is where the real juice of any particular New Moon can be found. We talked about some of the energies in play as we moved through the week.

Let's recap and see what else is happening.

We have the Moon meeting the Sun at 15 degrees Sagittarius. You can see from this chart the Moon and Sun all snuggled in there between Jupiter, who they have already talked to - the expansion, the quest, the skies the limit, the stuff that might be too much or over the top - and Saturn, who they are approaching - the reality, the foundation, authority, limits.

Mercury is DIRECT in Scorpio, he/she has walked these degrees twice before, and won't be totally out of shadow for a couple weeks, but he is still moving DIRECT. Retrograde over. Thank goodness. So, the New Moon chart has a freshly direct Mercury (he stationed direct just hours before the Moon), still moving slowly, but powerfully and with a focused concentration and ability to get to the bottom of things in Scorpio. He/she is sextile the North Node in Cancer - opportunities come through our ability to focus on what matters most, on our roots, on our home/family/nurturing and to not be afraid to be vulnerable.

News/information/ideas come in now that can point us in a new direction - the direction of our QUEST.

The biggest energy at the Moon, though is Mars, traveling through Pisces this month, meets up with Neptune (ruler of Pisces) at 13 degrees. And those two planets are squaring - tension, frustration, crisis, the obstacle, the kick in the ass - the New Moon energies.

So, the kick in the ass - the stress that gets us moving is coming from our Pisces house and the fresh start is coming from our Sagittarius house.

EXAMPLES for a couple signs and you would need to check your natal chart to see what is exact for you or email me and I will check your chart for you -

SCORPIO/Scorpio Rising - Mars/Neptune in Pisces 5th house, Moon/Sun in Sagittarius 2nd house - the fresh start is in your 2nd house of your money, your values and what you really value, your resources and self-esteem. The kick/tension is coming from your 5th house of creative projects, your self-expression, what you give birth to, children, romance and recreation - so maybe you want more money for something here or there are expenses that push you to make more money or get more value from what you already own. The 2nd house (Taurus house) also rules food, so it would be a good time to make a fresh start - that sticks - with diet - the square from your 5th could mean poor eating through recreation/parties/eating out pushes the changes. Maybe challenges with a creative project (5th house) are pushing you to find a new source of income (2nd house). With the house of gambling (5th house) squaring your house of money (2nd house) you might be encouraged to spend BIG on something that isn't such a sure bet. Or invest too much of your self-esteem (2nd house) in a romance situation or a situation with children (both 5th house) or a creative project. Use some caution here. We have that Saturnian sextile indicating the opportunity comes through the long game, through the building of  a stable foundation for that financial dream. There is a reset happening with your money/resources/values/self-esteem - that 5th house square is your kick in the ass that gets the party started. With Jupiter in your 2nd house all year this area of life is expanding for you, lucky Scorpio!

TAURUS/Taurus Rising - Mars/Neptune in Pisces 11th house, Moon/Sun in Sagittarius 8th house - the fresh start is in your 8th house of other people's resources, other people's values, intimacy, other people's money, spouse's income, loans, debts, taxes, inheritance, investments, sex, reproduction, power struggles, life/death issues. The kick/tension is coming from your 11th house of your friendships, groups, causes, the internet, the public, the goals that bring you into relationship with other people, your advancement, technology. So maybe something happening within your group/causes/friendships is getting too intimate or invading some intimate space. Maybe it needs to be more clearly defined or needs a boundary - that Saturn sextile. There could be advancements now with that 8th house financial/intimacy situation. Just don't count your chickens before they are hatched and be sure you are reading and understanding the fine print on any contracts or obligations now. Your New Moon reset is happening in the house of powerful, and irreversible transformation, so changes could come at you fast. With Jupiter in your 8th house all year this area of life is expanding for you, lucky Taurus.

If you want to know where this is happening in your chart email me or leave a comment. For example you could be a Scorpio rising but this New Moon is not happening in your 2nd house - check for 15 degrees, etc.

The challenge here for all of us, because Mars - our fire/energy/ambition/passion - is in watery Pisces, is that the New Moon energy could be diluted. Opportunities wasted or we jump the gun on something that looks better than it actually is. We've talked about this Pisces stuff for the last couple weeks and it is in play for the rest of the month (and for the next six months in relationship to this New Moon chart and your Sagittarius house fresh start) - the whole avoid the pushing/rushing thing. Let stuff flow.

This New Moon is squaring that conjunction. So Mars gets to Neptune - our actions meeting the dream - at the same time the Moon is reaching the Sun in the sign of expansion and "luck". On the surface this looks like a good, maybe great, thing. Like the whole 'leap and the net will appear' thing, but with Neptune and Jupiter both energies that are impossible to pin down - it is hard to know just how big the holes in that net actually are and if we will get all tangled up in it.

Pallas is inconjunct the Mars/Neptune conjunction from her space in partnership/balance focused Libra. An inconjunct is a rock and a hard place. Maybe the dream/escape/addiction - whatever we are doing with the Mars/Neptune - isn't so compatible with our relationship strategies, with whatever we need to keep our relationships with other people in balance.

The good news - Saturn is sextile (opportunity) the Mars/Neptune energies - and he is strong and stable in Capricorn - this can keep our New Moon expectations more grounded in reality.

Which although it can sound/feel like a drag on the Sagittarius blue skies, can actually aid us in getting what we want here!

The New Moon has some challenges, but, honestly nothing happens without some challenges; some friction to create change!

And we will see in our own lives it is the problem/the friction/the obstacles we face now that is forcing us to make real this New Moon's offerings.

This Moon has a real Christmas-y, miracles, anything-can-happen feel to it.

We just need to keep our expectations in check to avoid waking up on Christmas morning that disappointed kid with six pairs of socks in a box where a Barbie dream house should have been.

We could get the Barbie dream house - that Sag New Moon, that Saturn sextile to the squaring energies - but it might not be magically tossed down our chimney and under our tree.

We are going to have to believe in the dream (yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus).

And we are going to have to build it. This is going to be work, but that is OK with us, because the building/the work will be part of the quest; part of the fun.

It will be like we look at our watch (if we still wore a watch) and we've put in 8 hours of work, but we didn't notice because the work was fun.

This energy plays out until the Sagittarius Full Moon next June.

As always, write your New Moon intentions down by hand in script. Use strong ink and a clean sheet of paper. Do this in a quiet, respectful manner in a clean space. Light a candle.

Trust the process. We have cast our spell.

People always say that affirmations "only work if we take action". And this is true, but not in the way some people think because the affirmation is action.

It sets the energy in motion.

Words are not just words.

If done properly, in the right frame of mind, they line us up energetically with the thing we are seeking.

The New Moon is a time of darkness.

Think seeds in the ground. Our words are our seeds.

We only get 3 fire New Moon a year folks, let's not waste this one! Set your intentions around your Sagittarius house themes and/or general Sagittarius themes. Take action without pushing or rushing. Meditate. Pray. Avoid drugs/alcohol/addictions. Make art. Color.

Seeds go into the ground. Hands get dirty. Muscles get tired. Backs get strengthened.

Mercury is sextile the North Node of Fate so pay attention to news/information that comes in. Conversations can point us in a new direction. Ideas can pop into our head. Books can fall off their shelves and into our laps. Read them.

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Capricorn | January 5th, 2019 - clues about the year ahead, the space we need to get our act together, getting down to business, accepting the changes of a new season, letting go, starting with the end in mine, a year we need to take seriously

At 8:27PM EST on Saturday, January 5th, the Capricorn Moon meets the Capricorn Sun at 15 degrees giving us our annual New Moon in Capricorn and because of its proximity to the North/South Nodes - this year's Cappy New Moon is also a partial Solar Eclipse giving it extra oomph and staying power.

You can see in this New Moon chart - the Sun and Moon sandwiched almost exactly between Saturn (11 degrees) and Pluto (20 degrees) and right in the middle of serious Capricorn.

For our challenged Sun and Moon this looks like about as much fun as going to the dentist. Without novocaine. And just when you are finished and thinking to yourself "well, maybe that wasn't so bad",  the dentist hits you in the face with a hammer. And then steals your wallet.

Hmmm.

Keep in mind the Capricorn New Moon is always challenging because, well it's CAPRICORN. We are planting seeds in a frozen ground, so we know we are going to have to work hard to keep them alive

We don't just get to pop them in the ground and GO.

This year is especially challenging. The Sun and Moon are wedged between two powerful and challenging energies. One that wants to toughen them up with trials and tribulations and one that wants to ... well, kill them. The seeds will need bootstraps to pull themselves up. And their bootstraps will need bootstraps, too.

OK, so we know this going in. Whatever is starting now, whatever we have going on for the next month - it is going to take work. Don't kid yourself that it won't. And yes, I see that sextile to dreamy/easy-peasy Neptune and that Grand Water Trine between Venus, Neptune and the North Node. They will make this all bearable (and shows the manifesting potential available to us throughout 2019!) ... and emotional, but not really any less hard. And there are no air signs in this chart. We can't think our way through this.

A New Moon is a fresh start (in the dark) and an eclipse is a cosmic reset - something gets eclipsed out of our life or out of our way. Eclipse events are tricky to time, so if this is hitting your chart, the "eclipsing out" thing could have already happened or happen in almost exactly 30 days, or sometimes even later.

Saturn (authority, limits, structure, hard work, time) is making his way toward Pluto (death, transformation, rebirth) and because of his retrograde, they won't actually connect until January 2020 and by that time Jupiter - which expands everything - will be in Capricorn, too. Saturn hasn't met Pluto in Capricorn in 500 years!

This Saturday's New Moon is a kind of pre-cursor to that. A heads-up.

A last chance (we have six months until the Capricorn Full Moon) to get our acts together.

We really don't want to screw this up.

Don't clutter up your life with loose ends now. Take care of your physical body. This isn't work til we drop stuff - nothing in the universe supports us hurting ourselves ever. Don't take on too much, but don't take on too little either. Capricorn is all about hard work, ambition, common sense, perseverance, survival, efficiency, organization and responsibility. It can also be so dry and brittle that stuff can ... break.

Luckily we have a Grand Water Trine to keep things lubricated!

This is first chakra security stuff. Capricorn rules bones, skin and joints.

So, if you are not getting what you need from relationships or activities that you spend considerable amounts of time on, your body and mind (depression is here, too) will tell you now.

First center physical problems like fatigue, skin problems and joint pain that are ignored (ie we don't look at what we are getting back from what we are giving our energy and time to) lead to worse stuff like arthritis, allergies and autoimmune problems.

This is an excellent time to create new routines for physical stuff.

This year, and especially the next six months are very important, because the summer will be especially gnarly and probably leave us hanging on by our finger tips. Don't bite your nails. You might need them in June and July for extra grippiness.

We want to be thinking/acting/talking/walking responsibly. The structure/stability of our lives is shifting (this is what the end of patriarchy feels like folks). The institutions we thought were strong will be shown to be weak. We won't be able to count on the people/things we have been counting on because they will be shifting/barely hanging on, too. We are going to have to pull ourselves out of that well, so let's not go peering over the side, or dancing on the rim and fall into the well in the first place, OK?

Let's look at this Moon by sign. The Aries post is longest (not because I run out of words as I go along ... really ... really) because it APPLIES TO ALL OF US since Aries rules our collective 1st house.

Check your Sun sign and especially your rising sign and maybe the signs around them if nothing seems quite right or email me/leave a comment to know what house holds 15 degrees Capricorn in your natal chart. For example, my hubby is a Virgo rising, but 15 degrees Capricorn is his 4th house not his 5th house, so he would need to read Libra rising - something like this could apply to you if the info sounds off.

This area/theme of your life has been rocking with activity for awhile so it shouldn't be hard to find!

ARIES/ Aries Rising - this New Moon Solar Eclipse is happening in your 10th house of your career, your calling, your achievements, your goals, dad, business, authority, responsibility, your reputation, your calling. This is your shifting sand. Situations that put you at the mercy of a boss/authority/power structure are designed (over the next 6 months and year) to put you in touch with your power. Misuse of power on your part could result in a fall from grace (over the next 6 months and year). NOW is the perfect time to start a job search, get a promotion/pink slip/new job, start a business. Maybe your boss leaves or your company hierarchy shifts. Maybe a major client comes or goes. Whatever is happening, with Saturn and Pluto book-ending the Moon things won't be without challenges. This New Moon is squaring your house creating tension/stress/crisis around authority/control. Now is the time to redefine your career/ambitions/goals. If you are struggling with something that has outlived its usefulness here - start letting it go or 2020 will see it crashing in a big way. If you have been loafing you will pay for it. By January 2020 you will either have stepped into your authority or authority will have stepped on you. Take this part of your life seriously in 2019. This weekend's Neptune kick-off sextile (opportunity) is coming from your 12th house of what is hidden or put away or done behind the scenes, secrets, the ethereal realms, imagination, dreams, hospitals, spirituality, addiction, healing. How can you use something here? Uranus is in your sign for just a few more weeks Aries demanding you prioritize your freedom and release anything/anyone that won't allow you to be yourself. When Uranus turns direct on Sunday you will have a few more weeks to make any final adjustments as you bravely reinvent yourself - what else needs to be done? AND you have Mars (your ruler!) in your sign. Get on it.

The best use of Saturn's journey toward Pluto for you is to redefine your career/calling. Let what is dying go. Holding on will just pull you down with it! Work hard. Be ethical. Don't cut corners.

TAURUS/ Taurus Rising - this New Moon Solar Eclipse is happening in your 9th house of your beliefs, travel, higher education, weddings, politics, legal issues, the media, truth vs false prophets, publishing, foreigners, everything outside your comfort zone, exploration, religion, your grandchildren and higher thinking. This is your shifting sand. This is the perfect time to start something in one of these areas - travel, study, change of beliefs. This New Moon is trining your house so changes should be more stabilizing than for some other signs. NEW MOON INTENTIONS

Get grounded - we're in an earth sign now, so this should be easier. Hug a tree. Plant your bare feet on the ground. I know it's cold. That's probably a good thing. Mindfully think about what you are doing while you are doing it. Use a clear, clean space. Always make your affirmations from a positive place (positive meaning certain and positive meaning cheerful) - yes, smile while you are writing them. If you can't smile, take a break and write them later. If you still can't smile, forget the cheerful - this is Capricorn after all, cheerful is probably not that important - and just go for the more powerful kind of positive meaning "certain". Write your affirmations down by hand in script. We want the letters all connected and flowing together and made by you. Speak them out loud.

Do what you are inclined to with the paper. Release your attention from these thoughts knowing that your intention is known.

Know these things are already yours.

xo all

I hope something here is helpful, and keep in mind you do not want my words/intuition to countermand your own. Use your own judgment/instinct with everything this year.

Uranus stations direct tomorrow and Venus finally leaves Scorpio on Monday (this will really help!). We are in the eclipse spin cycle now - in between eclipses (the next Eclipse is in two weeks) - fast change is coming!

Post on 2019 coming, too!
