weekly astrology forecast | June 19th to 25th, 2023 - making the dream real, opportunities for healing, a home and family focus, double checking the information, summer!

MONDAY - Jupiter sextile Saturn, Venus enters shadow

WEDNESDAY - SUMMER SOLSTICE, Mercury sextile Mars, Mercury sextile Chiron

THURSDAY - Mars trine Chiron

FRIDAY - Sun sextile North Node

SUNDAY - Mercury square Neptune

On MONDAY, Jupiter, at 7 degrees Taurus sextiles a retrograde Saturn in Pisces.

Our two middle planets - that connect the inner worlds with the outer - had their conjunction back on the Winter Solstice of 2020 (world starts up again) at 0 degrees Aquarius ushering in 200 years of AIR. After meeting in Aquarius at the end of 2020, now they reach their sextile - 60 degree exact separation - from the signs of Taurus and Pisces. Earth and Water. Creation. Growth. The opportunity comes now from what was launched back thenWith Saturn having just stationed retrograde factoring in.

This is a pretty rare aspect.

This speaks of Saturn's retrograde motion - our relook/slow down involving our commitments, our responsibilities, our ambitions, our career, our relationship with authority - being OPPORTUNISTIC. Creating benefits for us.

MAKING US LUCKY.

Re-working something will pay off BIG TIME over time.

This also speaks of Piscean activities - sacrifice, spiritual work, art, music, imagination - getting rooted in the rock-solid earth of Taurus, where they will grow. More win-win.

Sextiles are smooth aspects, so unlike squares our back won't be against the wall, but action will still be required to make something happen with this. This is the DREAM and REALITY working together. Figure out the themes of these two houses in your natal chart - or use the general themes I have mentioned above - and take some action with this.

Venus is also reaching the degree of her retrograde station that starts on July 22nd, so whatever we have going on now with our money, relationships, with women, with children, with romance or recreation, with what we are creating, will be what we are going to be back and forth with over the summer. We will be back where we are now on September 4th - older and wiser.

On WEDNESDAY, the Sun enters Cancer and Mercury, flying through Gemini will sextile first Mars (in Leo) and then Chiron (in Aries), then on THURSDAY, Mars will trine Chiron

Conversations, information, ideas are moving things forward/creating OPPORTUNITIES. We will want to be out and about. Taking action. With Mars in Leo, don't be afraid to express yourself/shine/be proud and maybe even a little loud. A little. Remember the New Moon's warnings about excessive pride.

Smooth aspects to Chiron indicate our actions/words bring HEALING. Messages and information unfold easily. We can find ourselves opening up and talking about what is painful and can find new options/more choices when we do. So, ask questions. This is air and fire, so words can be blurted out. Keep in mind sextiles are opportunities only - they require action, so SPEAK UP.

This is a good time to have conversations around and take action with painful issues we are dealing with. Doubts around our confidence/abilities will only connect us to other people. On THURSDAY the Moon in Leo will go void at 1PM EDT off a square to Uranus, so there could be something unexpected around this time. Give yourself extra time. Plans can change.

WEDNESDAY is also the day the Sun enters Cancer/the Summer Solstice ushering in the season of summer.

With the Sun's move into Cancer coming so quickly after the Gemini New Moon we could feel the emotional loss of anything in our rearview mirror - what we didn't get/didn't choose/have to give up. That's OK, that's what we are supposed to feel. I hope we also feel some excitement about whatever in our life is having a 'changing of the guard' even as we continue to work through the nitty gritty day-to-day details of the thing.

For today, lets appreciate the gift of a brand new season (summer or winter depending on where on planet Earth you hang your hat).

We are alive. Life is changing for all of us!

Cancer is all about family and home and history and patriotism and security - about having our needs met and meeting the needs of others we are close to. Family interactions will be sentimental. What we need and what other people need will be colored by our memories of how things used to be (or how we wished they had been). Comfort comes from people and situations that are familiar. The Sun will shine a light on these areas as well as light up our natal Cancer house.

Cancer is ruled by the Moon. Her emotional nature comes from the fact she changes signs every couple days - contrast that with the Sun who moves through one sign a month or Neptune who sits in the same sign for fifteen years. Can you imagine if the celestial body ruling our emotions stayed in the same place for fifteen years?

We wouldn't be moody anymore and certainly some people would be lucky enough to be smiling for over a decade, but we could be stuck in a bad mood through three presidents and two car loans. That's a whole lot of lemons, folks!

Looked at this way - the moody, changeable Moon is our friend!

Feel whatever you need to feel now. Solstice means standstill - so stand still. Get near water. Watch the sun rise. Clean your house. Light a candle in the sunshine. Do that 'balance an egg' thing. And then let's be as gentle with ourselves as we are with that egg.

Remember our DNA carries the energy of our ancestors who celebrated the Solstice for centuries all over the planet. This is powerful stuff.

Plus the Moon is in Leo as the Sun moves into Cancer creating a mutual reception (both in each other's sign) and strengthening both. And the Moon will square Jupiter and meet Venus.

On FRIDAY, the Sun, freshly minted in lunar ruled Cancer, sextiles the North Node at 1 degree Taurus.

Here is where that focus on home/family/real estate, our natal Cancer house theme creates an opportunity for our most abundant, stable future. This won't be some big, flashy thing, so we have to know what is most valuable.

On SUNDAY, Mercury is going to square Neptune. We talked about this in the New Moon in Gemini post. Not everything will be as it appears. There can be verbal misunderstandings. Information can be missing. People could be deceitful. Double check those emails before hitting send. Not the best day to sign on the dotted line. Choices and decisions will be confusing. Plans can be washed out. The Moon in Virgo will also be interacting with Neptune today, through a challenging opposition - again, it will be hard to know what is true - but Luna has a nice closing trine to Pluto before going void at 6:24PM EDT for the rest of the day.

The Mercury/Neptune will be during the void Moon, so shouldn't amount to much anyway and could just be about us needing a rest/break.

I hope something here is helpful. I am going to write a big picture post this week, because even I, have lost track of where we are :)
