MONDAY - Mars conjunct Neptune, Venus enters Taurus
TUESDAY - Mars enters Aries
WEDNESDAY - Venus squares Pluto, Third Quarter Moon
THURSDAY - Pluto stations retrograde
FRIDAY - Mars sextiles Pluto
This is an active week with two inner planets changing signs - both going into signs THEY RULE and a big outer planet - Pluto - changing direction (charting his course back into Capricorn).
AND the planets that change signs are both in contact with Pluto (the one who is changing direction) - one while Pluto is moving direct (Venus with a tense square from Taurus) and one after Pluto reverses course (Mars with an opportunistic sextile from Aries).
We start the week as Mars meets up with Neptune, ruler of Pisces. This has been building for a few days and will take a few days to unwind.
With Mars/Neptune this is more about - getting out of our own way than taking direct action. There is no reason to force/push because our efforts will just cause us to drift further from our target or have to course correct later. We might even miss the bigger/better thing Neptune (who has no limits) can line us up with if we just 'accept and allow'. With Neptune, ACCEPTANCE and ALLOWING is key. We ALLOW what is happening and ACCEPT what is not happening. Mars in Pisces goes out with a Pisces style drifting/dreaming BANG.
Keep in mind Mars is just a hairs breadth away from his home sign of Aries, so we have this final LOOSENING OF THE REINS before - what is this? We can take action and have that action take us where we intend it to take us?! What?!
Look at the order of this week's events.
Mars meets Neptune. LET GO. Venus comes home to Taurus - a sign she rules. This is about what we want/our self-esteem/our resources. Mars comes home to Aries. Our energy/initiative increases. Venus squares Pluto. Maybe what we want feels like what we need. Things are more INTENSE. This is a square so maybe we are operating from fears around what we are losing or what we don't have. So, it's good she's home BUT ...
then we get that Third Quarter Moon. The Moon in Aquarius - who needs to feel liberated and detach - squares the Taurus Sun who needs to put down roots/stay/hold onto what she has. Tension. Frustration. Then Pluto stations retrograde. Although he won't get back into Capricorn until September, we know that is where he is headed. So does he. And the way we responsibly end things/the way things finish up MATTERS, so his/our return to Capricorn matters. His station now MATTERS.
By the end of the week, Venus is in Taurus saying, " THIS is what I want. Go get it buddy". And Mars is out the door and GONE/after it. We should be starting to feel more ENERGIZED.
By the end of the week, the Mars/Neptune loss/drifting/laziness/sacrifice is in the past. Now Mars moves into a smooth sextile with Pluto. The same Pluto who was stressing out Venus is now empowering Mars if we take ACTION.
So, Mars - our masculine energy and the way we take action/go after what we want - finishes up the week in a much stronger/more solid position than he started the week. So, WE DO, TOO. We are headed toward next week's New Moon in Taurus - conjunct Jupiter/Uranus - when the Jupiter/Uranus seeding will begin to GROW.
By the end of the week, we have both Mars and Venus out of signs where they are weak and in their home signs where they are strong.
THIS IS GOOD and a BIG part of the strength of the month of May.
The things we want with Venus in Taurus are things that make sense/cents - are things that are stable, long lasting, HAVE INTRINSIC VALUE. The way we go about getting those things with Mars in Aries is DIRECT. B follows A. Mars has not been home to Aries in two years and he will be raring to go. And now our third inner planet Mercury, who is in Aries and direct since last week, will start answering to a stronger Mars in his home sign. Our words are sharper/more decisive. Our thinking more focused.
If you have been feeling unmotivated/tired - by the end of this week, that will start to end. I promise!
MONDAY - Mars conjuncts Neptune, Venus enters Taurus
Mars meets up with Pisces ruler Neptune at 28 degrees Pisces. This is their LAST MEETING IN PISCES IN OUR LIFETIME.
Here is where our last few weeks with Mars in Pisces has been leading us. Let go. Let God. Watch your escapist/cray-cray/addictive tendencies that could be peaking/overblown. Watch your boundaries because they will be THIN. This is great energy for making art/music. SPIRITUAL PROGRESS. Great for meditating/talking to your ancestors. Our energy can be low/need a break. Men might be disappointing. We could be TIRED. Under the weather/sick. Something can get washed out. Get enough sleep.
Keep in mind with Mercury answering to Mars who is meeting Neptune our thinking will not be so realistic today, use this energy for something that doesn't require precision/realism.
Two things are happening here
1. Mars is ending his days in foggy/drifting Pisces by meeting up with the big cheese of Pisces, ruler Neptune. Something needs to be released. Bigger hands than ours are steering this ship now. If something drifts/dissolves - let it. The Moon is waning. Endings are possible/likely here.
2. Mars/Neptune is a conjunction and like a new Moon, conjunctions START new cycles. So, yes, there is this ending that we can't control or this need for a loss/sacrifice - which might have happened already - AND there is also this new story starting. And it's starting near the end of Pisces which makes me think it is not a totally new story. It's the kind of story that flows and changes and can't be controlled and this is just the way our Pisces house is set up to work best.
These planets will meet again in April 2026 and that is when this story (that starts now) will unwind - maybe in a more direct way since that meeting will be at 2 degrees Aries, and another new story - with a fiery fresh start - will replace this one.
Today is also the day Venus comes home to Taurus. Venus loves (and rules) Taurus. After her weeks in Aries trying to be a lover and a fighter, she is quite content to settle into herself again. Taurus suns and rising signs get more attractive (both physically attractive and more able to attract). Taurus is a fertile earth sign. She is the earth in a sense. Taurus rules our 2nd house of love, money and values. Where is Taurus in your natal chart? This space is about to receive its annual visit from Venus (beauty, love, self-esteem, values, women).
TUESDAY - Mars enters Aries. Now two of our three inner planets are in their home signs and the third one, Mercury is direct after his recent retrograde!
Mars into Aries means the [pace speeds up. Our actions have faster consequences. This is Mars home sign and after all these weeks floating through Pisces, he (as we) will be very happy for the increased momentum/energy/passion.
Aries is the energy we incarnate through - it is us being born. Pushing our way into our very existence. Starting out all alone. It is our hero's journey. Our "I am". In Aries, Mars is strong, willful, passionate, impulsive - and at his most Mars-y
(which is something like ballsy only more like BALLSY - I am talking bowling and not tennis here),
Mars is the first planet outside our Earth's orbit. Our other inner/personal planets, Mercury and Venus are closer to the center, and, so, visually they travel with the Sun - they never get too far away - but Mars is a fellow who likes his independence.
He isn't constrained by the Sun in the same way Mercury and Venus are. Ruler of brave and independent Aries he mostly does what he wants. In Roman mythology, Mars was the son of Juno and Jupiter (in Greek mythology he was the God Ares). We think of Mars as the God of War, because he is, but his ancient role - as a fertility God and protector of crops and animals (herds), might be something for us to keep in mind now, too, as he moves back to his home turf.
In our natal chart Mars rules our Aries house (and Scorpio house through ancient rulership) and also is influenced by/and influences the sign and house he calls home. Mars is about our will, our ambition, our action, our passion, our physical self, our selfishness, our rage. His house placement and rulership lets us know what battles we are going to face in this lifetime - the spaces where, if we are not assertive and active (without being a self-centered, irritable, impulsive, angry assholes), we will find ourselves steamrolled or in continued stress until we take action/stand up for ourselves/have COURAGE.
WEDNESDAY - Venus squares Pluto, Third Quarter Moon
Today looks challenging. Venus, freshly home to Venus, quickly runs into a power struggle with Pluto. Obsession, jealousy, control issues, tension - especially geared to our resources, money, relationships, certainly our Taurus house theme. Watch your wallet. Don't over-spend. Sales might bring some tangles. Bills come due. Money issues are challenging. Relationship/love frustrations feel intense. Secrets can come out. Any square to Pluto can make things feel like 'life and death' - and with Venus this is about what we want. Avoid manipulations that will bite you in the ass later.
At the same time another important square is playing out. The Moon reaches 11 degrees Aquarius and squares the Taurus Sun. This is our third quarter square - something unwinding in preparation for next week's New Moon in Taurus (conjunct Jupiter/Uranus and an activation pint for that!). This is tension/frustration between the predictable and the unpredictable. We are going to have to roll with the changes here.
THURSDAY - Pluto stations retrograde (death postponed, outer transformation becomes inner transformation, mess to be cleaned up before he stations direct in October).
All week Pluto is strong and still. Dangerous. Not to be messed with. Although of course Venus and Mars have to go and mess with him :)
Retrograde, Pluto is on his way back to Capricorn to finish up/clear things up. Walk us through, probably drag us through, some kind of RESPONSIBLE ending. Because like I said before the way we end things MATTERS.
FRIDAY - Mars sextiles Pluto. Mars, still shaking off Neptune, but starting to feel the old familiar stomping ground of Aries under his feet - moves into an opportunistic sextile with Pluto.
This is your Aquarius house and your Aries house AWAKE and talking to each other. Actions taken now can create PERMANENT and empowering changes with little or no resistance. Do nothing with this and nothing happens. Take action, and with Pluto, it must. Just be sure you know what you are doing here because even smooth aspects with Pluto can result in something like 'we get what we want and then don't want it'. Plutonian stuff is sticky/not easily dislodged. Keep this in mind.
A big week with plenty of change, but it doesn't look as stressful as most of April!
My next post will be back to the Jupiter/Uranus because May is filled with activations of this conjunction that we will want to take advantage of.
xo all
