July and August are months like no other. Ever. Yes, ever. Unprecedented. And even that very word 'unprecedented' that astrologers are bandying about like it doesn't have multiple meanings (especially with Uranus in Gemini kicking this whole thing off) probably means more than we think it does. But maybe not in the way we are thinking as I say this because Uranus is so unpredictable. Am I making sense? If not, don't plan for much more 'sense' to come :) out of me today.
I have no idea why I am even trying to muddle us through this maze, but let's take a look. We'll start at the center because we are always in the middle of everything any way...
Maybe separating the planets by "tiers" is actually clarifying something that gets lost when we try to read every aspect at once. I don't usually do things this way, but, well, again there is the 'unprecedented' thing going on, so let's try it. Even though with so many planets in the first few degrees of new signs, there is remarkably little "middle ground" in the sky. It's almost as if everyone is introducing themselves.
Life is like a movie. The outer planets are writing the historical script. The inner planets are the actors on the stage. Jupiter and Saturn are the directors. They determine how the actors engage with the larger story. The first thing that jumps out is that Jupiter and Saturn are no longer operating as opposites. That's unusual psychologically. Most of the time we live some version of - Jupiter says "more." Saturn says "less." Expansion versus contraction. And it's still this, of course, but this July/August they are almost functioning as partners.
If we stick with our Moon migration theme from the Full Moon in Capricorn - picture a flock of geese. The individual birds are the inner planets. The changing seasons and magnetic field of the Earth are the outer planets. The two lead birds rotating at the front - the ones translating invisible currents into a direction the flock can actually follow - are Jupiter and Saturn. Jupiter says, "this way - the horizon is there." Saturn says, "keep formation or we won't make it!"
Around July 19th-20th almost every major storyline converges. The outer planets are locked into their remarkable configuration. That isn't simply "a lot of aspects." It feels like a pressure point where multiple developmental paths are simultaneously available. Pluto says transformation. Neptune says vision. Uranus says breakthrough. Saturn says commit. Jupiter says grow.
It's almost like every layer of the chart is asking us - WHAT FUTURE ARE YOU CHOOSING?!!!
Let's look at our two middle/bridge planets.
JUPITER - The middle planet of GROWTH. We begin July with Jupiter's move into Leo. Jupiter, the King of the Gods and planet of expansion and the kind of luck that comes from risk, in the home of the Sun/royalty/ego can sound like a very good thing or a very bad thing depending on which side of the table you are sitting. It's almost theatrical. Leo likes entrances. There is a BIG SPLASH around the 4th of July and then the MEGA energies around July 20th through the end of July. Afterward, as far as Jupiter goes ...silence.
The king enters.
The court rearranges itself.
Then everyone lives inside the consequences.
(just keep in mind the whole 'Pluto/power in Aquarius' thing that the king is up against - does the collective consent? is this leadership earned? is the system bigger than the individual? what happens if the crowd refuses the script? it's not just who leads, because there's a deeper conversation embedded in the Leo/Aquarius axis, it's - who decides who leads?)
The first thing Jupiter does is square Chiron in Aries/test the wound. How much is this masculine energy still hurting? We know that Jupiter in Leo - the royal energy that has likely by this time gotten too big to fall/fail but actually isn't - is going to have to oppose Pluto/death. This will be exact on July 20th. He will also be sextiling Uranus (in Gemini) and trining Neptune (in Aries) AT THE SAME TIME - the outer planets in just about perfect formation right about then. Nine days later Jupiter will catch up with the Sun exact on the United States North Node of Fate - so by July 29th we will surely know what is going on and it will be BIG. The Sun/Jupiter will be applying to Trump's own Pluto and JD Vance's Sun (Uranus will be on Vance's North Node). After whatever the heck is happening here - Jupiter will lay low/go quiet until the very end of the summer, when on August 31st he will trine Saturn (stability).
SATURN - The middle planet of CONSTRICTION. We begin July with Saturn in Aries. The Sun will square Saturn on July 6th. Here is some kind of buzzkill, roadblock, REALITY CHECK. This is needed. Mercury is retrograde and this whole thing needs to slow down. On July 19th, Mars is going to sextile Saturn. We can see this is at the same time Jupiter is having his big energies with all the outer planets including that 'live-or-die'/irreversible opposition with Pluto. Whatever is going on during this time period in July, Saturn is, in a way, GREEN-LIGHTING it. Pulling in a personal planet/making it personal and available to all of us through that sextile - just keep in mind a sextile is a soft aspect and requires some kind of action on our part. We could see it as an invitation.
Saturn is also now laying low for the rest of the summer, too, (he will station retrograde in late July) until he makes that aspect with Jupiter - a nice smooth trine with Jupiter direct and Saturn retrograde - on August 31st. When Jupiter/Saturn are making their nice smooth trine at the end of the summer they will be in a SQUARE TO MARS. And Mars will be in Cancer EXACT on the United States Sun. So, to my way of looking at things those middle planets, the ones that bridge the inner planets/the personal us to the outer planets/what's not us or what is not 'personal' us (they are collective us) are tag-teaming to stop Mars in Cancer/pull him up short/slow him down. And Mars in Cancer here is pretty clearly the United States. Our Sun/the way we shine/lead. 13-degrees Cancer/the U.S. Sun and where Mars will be on August 31st is also JD Vance's natal Apollo (Sun God). Now, we know Trump was born with an exact Apollo/Ascendent, so is literally playing the Sun God in life, it's part of his avatar/the way he is viewed/the way he dawns on people. We will look at this more after we look at the outer and inner planets.
That Jupiter/Pluto opposition on July 20th is really asking something like - WHAT CANNOT CONTINUE? What must surrender? What power changes hands? Sometimes that coincides with literal life-and-death events. Often it manifests as systems, identities or power structures reaching a point where there is no genuine return to the previous state. There is a 'before-and-after' quality. Something here is irreversible.
Jupiter opposing Pluto tends to magnify Plutonian processes. It can produce extraordinary confidence or extraordinary overreach. It can reveal genuine leadership or expose inflated authority. Jupiter says, "I can." Pluto asks, "but should you - and who really holds the power?" Keep in mind Pluto is in Aquarius the sign of the "people" and tech and answering to Uranus who we will get to next when we look at the outer planets. This is kind of echoing the Phaethon storyline we have been looking at ...
Keep in mind we haven't looked at July 4th's BIG energies (coming next), the retrogrades, the Nodal shift to Aquarius/Leo, the August Eclipses - one Leo, one the final Pisces. It's all quite a nail-biter - anxiety/excitement - and will pull us into 2027's big SHIFT.
