On Wednesday, July29th, 2026, at 10:35AM EDT, the Aquarius Moon opposes the Leo Sun at 6-degrees giving us this month's Full Moon - our annual Full Moon in AQUARIUS.
Full Moon are always oppositions. This is the Moon opposite the Sun. Aquarius vs. Leo. Collective mind (Aquarius) vs personal heart (Leo). Friendship love vs romantic love. Digital vs. analog? If we think back to the American Revolution - the last time Pluto was in Aquarius - maybe Aquarius would be the Rebels/Patriots and Leo would be the Royalist/Tories.
Full Moons bring things to a culmination, a conclusion or into the light.
This is a very complicated chart.
The Moon sits with Pluto and Juno. We talked about our 2026 relationship/commitment journey through Juno and Pluto HERE and HERE. Juno/Pluto will be exact again in November, but in full display now, too. Other things are on display because, again, THIS MOON IS COMPLICATED, but I can only write so many words in one post, and this is an important place to look so we will.
The relationship under review is certainly our intimate partnerships, but it's also our covenant with community itself. What does it mean to belong to one another in an Aquarian Age without disappearing into the crowd? What promises are worth renewing and which ones have become too small for who we are becoming?
We have the Moon - our emotional reality. It's what we actually feel, regardless of what we've been telling ourselves. We have Pluto - who says there is no going back. This isn't a negotiation over minor details. Something fundamental has shifted. Maybe trust. Maybe power. Maybe identity. Maybe the future you have imagined. Pluto asks - what truth have you been avoiding/living around instead of in? Then there is Juno - marriage, commitment. In mythology Juno is the Queen because she remains married to Jupiter (Zeus). She is repeatedly betrayed. Repeatedly loses herself in jealous anger. But she never leaves. Modern readers might interpret that psychologically, but mythically it's more complex. She is protecting the kingdom. She is protecting legitimacy. She is protecting order. She is protecting her own place within that order. Juno is the spoken and unspoken contracts we make. Marriage. Business partnerships. Families. Our relationship with our career/work/titles/education. Political alliances. Citizenship. Friendship. The promises we've made to ourselves. Our motives have been intertwined for centuries with a need to stay close to power/in someone's good graces/a need to SURVIVE. So, Pluto asks her as she faces off with her husband - which of these motives is still alive? and which has become fear/is dead?
The Moon, Pluto and Juno ask us to acknowledge where an agreement has become too small for the people involved. Notice that's different from saying the relationship has failed. Sometimes the relationship survives because the agreement changes. Sometimes it doesn't. But Pluto insists that the old form cannot simply continue because it's familiar. If you are in a relationship with someone or something in 2026 you can most likely feel something like this.
The Sun sits with Jupiter EXACT. This is BIG EGO. Often touted as 'the luckiest day of the year' this year's Sun/Jupiter conjunction is happening in the Sun's sign of Leo making all of us - especially those with planets/points near 6 degrees Leo- especially SHINY. This is optimism. Certainty. The Sun/Jupiter believes in love. It believes in the future. It believes growth is possible. In Leo, the conjunction says - BECOME MORE FULLY YOURSELF.
This year though 'this luckiest day of the year thing'/whatever the Sun/Jupiter is GROWING comes at a Full Moon that sits with Pluto. Must oppose Pluto. Comes with a price.
So immediately we have a tension.
One side asks - what must change in the agreement? The other asks - who are you becoming? That's actually a very healthy opposition. Because one without the other becomes something else entirely.
Without Pluto/Juno - the Sun/Jupiter is Leo reads as FOLLOW YOUR BLISS. Without responsibility. Without consequences. And without Sun/Jupiter - Moon/Pluto/Juno says, "EVERYTHING MUST CHANGE." Without hope. Without joy. Without possibility.
Then there is the "basket". The trines and sextiles and way through this gnarly opposition. The suspension bridge that is keeping everything up and BUYING US TIME. Neptune is saying - keep imagination. Keep compassion. Have faith. Uranus is saying - don't assume there are only two choices. Invent a third.
We think we have two options. Stay the same. Leave. The person. The job. The group. The dream. Uranus says - what if there's another possibility?
The Sun/Jupiter conjunction is also the midpoint of the Venus in Virgo/Mars in Gemini square. Mars and Venus are the relationship dynamic. Their square, unlike the Sun/Jupiter, is going to be in play for months. There is tension. Frustration. Masculine. Feminine. They're struggling. Mars in Gemini wants movement, options, conversation. Venus in Virgo wants discernment, improvement, practical care. They're pulling against one another. For months.
And what sits exactly between them? The Sun. Jupiter. Leo. Jupiter in the heart of the Sun in Leo. It's almost as if the chart says - the relationship tension isn't solved by winning the argument. It's solved by BECOMING A LARGER PERSON.
That reminds me of something Jung once said (I'm paraphrasing), "many conflicts are not solved by finding the correct answer but by enlarging consciousness until the conflict no longer has the same grip".
This chart kind of feels like that. The Mars/Venus square isn't asking, "Who's right?" Instead, the Sun/Jupiter midpoint asks - who could you become that would make this argument less necessary?
Collectively there is something in the Sun/Jupiter about remaining brutally analog. In our own bodies (which are not 'meat suits', damn I hate when people say that - our bodies are living organisms that have agreed to house our energies during our incarnation, we need to thank them). In our own shoes. In our own communities. Ask questions. Large and small. Stuff that can't be googled. About stuff that is coming to light now. Like why are AI companies burning books instead of donating them after using/stealing their contents? History has been destroyed by fire before. I keep seeing Sarah Connor tossed into the looney bin and branded a "basket case" after trying to sabotage a 'data center' in Terminator II.
Moon/Pluto/Juno in Aquarius speaks of the dying social contract. The Sun/Jupiter in Leo tells us to become a person worthy of writing the next one.
The Moon conjunct Pluto/Juno asks us to examine not only the agreements we've made with other people, but the compromises we've made to remain close to power. To have tribal-style belonging or security. Every covenant carries a price. This Full Moon brings this to our attention and asks whether the price we've been paying is still one we're willing to pay. That question applies just as much to institutions, political movements, corporations, churches, creative groups and even our own identities as it does to marriages and close relationships.
We are heading into Eclipse season folks. We have to keep in mind that the opposite of domination is not powerlessness. It's rightful authority. Juno often struggles because she mistakes proximity to the throne for participation in true authority. Pluto strips away borrowed authority. Jupiter in Leo asks each person to discover their own power/center of gravity. That's a very different kind of power - one that doesn't depend on remaining close to someone else's throne or keeping the job/title/win. This is the real power of the "No Kings" in the Age of Aquarius.
In the meantime, there is this cradle/basket/cup and maybe during this Full Moon when I can see it more clearly for what it is now, I see most clearly the CRADLE. Cushioning us. Protecting us from the worst-case scenarios of the opposition BUYING US TIME to figure this out, but also, we have to be careful it isn't KEEPING US ASLEEP. Lulling us into a state of "it will all be ok" when maybe what it really needs now is our full participation.
Jupiter and Pluto rarely ask whether we're right. They ask whether we're willing to become larger than the role we've been playing. Jupiter enlarges the story. Pluto strips away the mask. Together they can show up as high drama, public reckonings and amplified consequences, but beneath the spectacle lies a quieter invitation - stop feeding the projection. Reclaim your part in the story. Only then can Juno begin writing a new covenant instead of repeating the old one. NOVEMBER!
Jupiter in Leo loves ideals. It loves noble stories. It loves believing the best. But it can also inflate identity. "I know who I am." Pluto across the sky answers, "Do you?" The shadow isn't simply dark behavior. It's every part of ourselves we've placed somewhere else because it was easier to admire or condemn in someone else than to RECOGNIZE in ourselves.
We can learn alot about the next two weeks/this New Moon cycle as we watch what the Moon does over the next couple days.
The Moon moves into Aquarius on the 29th and all on the same day - she meets Pluto, sextiles Neptune, trines Uranus, opposes Jupiter and then the Sun within minutes, then 4 hours later (into the next day) Luna will sextile Saturn and go void (rests) off a trine to Mars - so good closing aspects after the Full Moon. This matters to how things resolve themselves. Looks good.
Tell and feel the truth (Pluto). Keep the faith (Neptune). Imagine differently (Uranus). Have new conversations and new ideas. Believe anyway (Jupiter). See clearly (the Full Moon). Accept responsibility (Saturn). Then act (Mars).
Understanding becomes courage. The Moon doesn't go void after another conversation. She goes void after action.
The next New Moon and Full Moon are Eclipses (periods of fated change), Chiron is about to go retrograde and Venus will, too. Jupiter is going to trine Saturn - something is going to FALL INTO PLACE, but not before the drama gets BIGGER.
For now, let's start with what you SEE. Watch what gets amplified. Watch who overreacts and feel how you overreact. Watch where power reveals itself. Watch where your own emotional charge is strongest. Jupiter enlarges. Pluto uncovers. Pay attention to what becomes impossible to ignore.
Saturn is moving backward so we are looking at the foundation. He isn't stopping Mars, but making sure Mars doesn't run off in the wrong direction. A direct Saturn says, "Decide." A retrograde Saturn says, "Before you decide permanently ... have you learned what this experience was trying to teach you?"
Take a breath everyone. Saturn is retrograde and he is Aquarius's ancient ruler. Time is on our side.
xo all
EXAMPLE (and this person has a North Node in Leo, South Node in Aquarius so is just starting a nodal reversal) - a friend who is mostly a stay-at-home mom was out to lunch with her husband yesterday. His work requires frequent travel and eating out. She spilled her drink on the table and told me she got mad at him even though he hadn't done anything. She felt like a servant. Like she doesn't know how to behave in a restaurant. Which is ridiculous and she eats out all the time. An argument ensued about something else.
What happened wasn't really about the drink. The drink was the trigger, not the cause. The emotional charge was disproportionate - and what happens around Full Moons - because it touched something much older. And we have Chiron squaring in Taurus. I think it illustrates Moon/Pluto/Juno vs Sun/Jupiter almost perfectly.
The spilled drink became a symbolic moment where an unconscious agreement suddenly surfaced. Not really - "He thinks I'm incompetent." More like - "I suddenly felt incompetent beside him."
She spills the drink. Immediately she unconsciously compares herself to him. He travels. He knows restaurants. He belongs in this world. "I don't." Objectively, it's absurd. But Pluto isn't interested in objective reality.
Pluto is only interested in the HIDDEN STORY.
The story underneath may have been something like: "He's the competent one." "I'm the one who stays home." "His world is larger." "I don't quite measure up."
Whether or not any of that is true is almost beside the point. For a few seconds/moments it became emotionally REAL.
Juno asks - what role have we unconsciously accepted within this partnership? Not because someone assigned it to us. But because over the years, relationships develop narratives. He's the expert. She's the nurturer. He's adventurous. She's practical. He's social. She's home.
Those roles can be useful - until they become prisons. Pluto exposes the prison.
Then Jupiter on the other side may have done exactly what Jupiter does. Amplify. The embarrassment suddenly felt enormous. The meaning became larger than the event. A spilled drink became evidence of an entire identity. That's classic Jupiter/Pluto symbolism. The incident becomes MYTHIC.
There's something profoundly Aquarian here, too, that this Aquarius Sun knows something about. Aquarius is often about comparison with the larger group. "Everyone else knows how to do this." "I don't belong." "I've missed something." It's amazing how quickly one awkward moment can make us feel like outsiders.
But here's what is HOPEFUL. She saw what was happening. If this really was a Moon/Pluto/Juno moment, then the fight isn't the story. The story is the revelation. The feeling was already there. The drink simply illuminated it. That's what Full Moons do. And she was awake enough to see it.
It also reminds me of something else Jung wrote (which again I might be hatchet-jobbing, but you will get the idea) - until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate.
My friend could easily say, "We fought because I spilled my drink."
But the deeper truth is, "I discovered that part of me still believes I'm somehow less capable than my husband."
And that's brave and real and something she can actually work with.
